I have spent the last 24 hours completely freaking out about AI art and feeling like art is a joke and I’ve made a huge mistake building my life around it and dad was right all along and and and

It may not exactly be that grim but big fear is everything in the future is going to be repetitive marvel movies with ai art to completely replace people’s contributions, and everything is going to look the same and there won’t be meaning in anything, and it’ll sell.

And hey, if someone wants a different style so it looks a little less samey don’t worry this other ai can do that too.

I’m being real anxiety on main but some of this ai art looks pretty damn good and it’s like wow I wasted my life or something.

At least I’ve been doing some traditional mediums or I’d be losing it even worse than this.

height of my night is my dad talking abt the gay bars in town and being like ‘oh that ones a straight meat market!! naked guys dancing on tables and all that!’ and then i was like. isnt the one you used to go to. and he was like. yeah

#before my dad met my mom he was deeply in love with this trans woman who did drag shows at this local gay bar #and he would go every night. she died of aids but he still speaks abt her so fondly its sweet #but this particular club is what he calls ‘full of old fashioned queers’ #the windows were still painted so no one could see inside type old fashioned. #and he talks abt it so fondly but also he’s like. a bit more open abt why he visited so often #now my brother and i are older and also gay #men lmaooo… #my dad straight up told me the best cruising spots one time. that was fun #i think a lot of time when ppl think of older bi men they think of guys who identified as straight or gay then settled down and #figured out when they were older but my dad’s known he’s bisexual since he was #15. and like. he was rlly in gay culture at the time #and its tbh nice hearing abt it. its not like. #super graphic what he says but i acknowledge that my dad had other partners before my mom. some of them men. #and its just like kinda cool to have that elder queer prescense in my family #of course my moms the same way. she talks abt her life working on all #women farms. and living in san francisco and . #being in this lesbian scene in the 80’s and its so cool.. #i will admit. i didnt know my parents were queer until i had already come out #but they never. hid it from us it just never came up. #but once it did it was rlly nice to have that perspective. #bc my parents are from a different era of queer ppl it was hard to get them to understand transition at first #bc my dad didnt really know the difference between trans people and ‘crossdressers’ bc a lot of ppl considered themselves as both #when he was in the scene. #but they learned and its just nice to have multiple generations of queer ppl in the family #its comforting. #knowing that my brother and i are educating them as much as they are to us.

I made a Sonic OC poll a while ago to see what fan character of mine you wanted to see, and Hope won! So here's Hope The Chimera, aka Hope Robotnik!

That's right, Hope is my Sonamyshad fankid! I wrote a bit of a oneshot involving this character a bit a while ago on AO3, so if you're interested I'll link it here.

Due to one of her parents being Shadow, an alien-Mobian test tube baby, she's got some funky genes as well. They're a chimera with albinism, and a sort of weird echidna-hedgehog-wolf-black arms hybrid mess to the point she doesn't have a legal species! (she's just listed as Chimera/Robotnik on her birth certificate)

Hope was more of a surprise, since Shadow had no idea he could have kids at all, given the circumstances. So, her parents absolutely adore her, since she was practically a miracle.

Of course, Hope grew up with an ego identical to Sonic's, with Shadow's irritability and broodiness, and Amy's magical prowess. While she's not a bad person, she's somewhat insufferable, thinking that since she's the daughter of the Ultimate Lifeform and two of the most powerful and famous mortal Mobians that she is a literal god to the point she insists on fixing EVERYTHING and doesn't ask for help even if she's very unprepared for the situation at hand, even to a point of considering anyone who wants to help a "problem" or obstacle.

Hope eventually learns the hard way that she isn't as strong as she thinks she is...

i often think i had a fairly normal childhood but then i mention how i had a massive hole in my house that i nearly fell through while sleepwalking, my neighbors truck didnt have flooring so id dangle my feet while watching the road go by, and that i befriended and brought home a homeless crack addict that my dad eventually let live in the second house we had

and everyone stares at me like im insane

#the guy that built my old house #went to ohio to by bricks for cheap and brought them all back to mi somehow #100 yrs ago #so we had a bunch of bricks that had OHIO stamped into them #my house was putrid pink bc it was og yellow and someone tried to paint it over w red #and it fucking exploded #the people that bought it from my parents managed #to blow a 100 yr old colonial brick house off its foundation #how.. #im forever mad #i loved that house that almost killed me multiple times #and i befriended the homeless guy down the street bc my parents were the type #to not let me visit friends or have friends over #unless they were neighbors #so i was like #ok well this is john and hes my friend now #or that half my neighborhood burned down and if you drive by theres so many empty lots full of weeds #including where my house used to be 😭 #and that twice id sit out on my window sill in the middle of the night and watch someones house burn
