Did you know that this month is the 3rd anniversary of this blog? Happy three years to Fairytail Redraw!!!
The fairy tail redraw event is open to all artists (whether you are traditional or digital) and editors!
The rules are simple:
Pick a prompt to redraw or edit (or 2, or all of em if you feel like it!)
You're free to interpret and change the drawing however you see fit! Wanna change some colours? Wanna tweak things here and there? Go ahead! Nothing's off the table! The prompts are here to inspire you!
When you're done, @ this blog in your post and use the tag #fairytailredraw for it to be reblogged here and that's it! All there is to it!
Also an important note: though the redraw prompts change every month there is no such thing as a late drawing! You could draw any prompt any time and it wouldn't matter.
So no pressure on being late!

sabertooth headcanons pt. 1
I feel like mashima could've made sabertooth just a smidge less flat... they all had so much angst in them and the potential to evolve and grow as people... or they could all turn nice in the span of an episode. that works too.
♡ sting is a sweetheart. he's a genuine, caring, and kind boy who grows up to be a charming and earnest young man. that is, unless he's on the battlefield. old sabertooth sting makes an appearance in those moments. his smirk is cruel, his taunts are like daggers, jabbing away at the opponent. he's cocky and arrogant, and maybe he has the right to be so because his attacks are so powerful they blow the enemy away.
♡ lector is the kind of friend who talks major shit about whatever you're doing as he's helping you. he tells sting how dumb it is to go on a mission alone in mid-flight to their destination. ride or die? nah, lector is fly or die.
♡ rufus loves tea brewing. this is one of the few areas of knowledge that he chooses not to use his magic on. he loves sitting down with a good book and reading about the history of tea, tea cultivation, the proper culinary techniques to brew the perfect cup of tea.
♡ orga is the reason sabertooth has open-mic nights. the (second) strongest guild in fiore turns into a comedy club on tuesday nights, and surprisingly, it's good. orga serenades whoever comes to mind that night: it's been sting, rogue, yukino, all the usual suspects, and on one memorable occasion, mr. yajima. yukino tells the most wholesome, funny stories while frosch and lector act out the scene behind her. in what was probably the most fever dream moment of sting's life, minerva took the mic and delivered such a seething, deadpan stand-up that she got the entire guild cheering for her.
♡ minerva goes all out for halloween. besides just being into arcane magic and the history of magic, she loves spooky things. also, she's a bit fucked up, and this is a good outlet for her. sabertooth will gladly take minerva's scarily detailed sculptures of severed limbs over her lashing out any day of the week. to her guildmates' surprise, she also organizes a family-friendly haunted house in the guild hall for the kids of gazania.
♡ in my heart of hearts, sting does not become sabertooth's guild master. I headcanon him as a healer, so I think he would establish an infirmary in sabertooth and oversee it. unsure if rogue or minerva becomes guild master. I think minerva would be better suited for the role, but there's also recency bias against her because of jiemma. and she needs time to process everything that went into sabertooth's upheaval.
♡ which sabertooth member do you never want to piss off? you might think it's minerva or rufus or even the twin dragons. no. it's yukino. she is the sweetest, kindest member of sabertooth by far, and also the most patient. if you offend yukino, she's unlikely to do much about it, but celestials forbid you hurt her friends, especially minerva. she'll send her spirits after you, and no one will ever find your body.
♡ sabertooth, despite their efforts to become a kinder place, is still a hard guild to get into. they're not like fairy tail where anyone can just join. the core members argue for a long while about what kind of entrance test they should have. ultimately they decide on a test of strength, but not just physical ability. minerva says that it's in the eyes, whether someone has the drive and tenacity to always improve themselves and make sabertooth proud. she tries to be subtle, but she's also staring at yukino the entire time. one eyebrow wiggle from lector turns minerva as red as the cat's fur.

Orga: If you don't want to die, give me all your money.

Sabertooth Guild as Pokémon Trainers
Tumblr media
The way I have done this with Fairy Tail x Winx Club, Fairy Tail x Disney Descendants, and now.... Sabertooth x Pokémon 😅😭. I know I will not be able to get any work done if I don’t do this so here you go!
Dobengal - Gym Leader
Tumblr media
Now, now, I know we literally know nothing about him, but it’s fun to imagine what he would be like and what kind of Pokémon he’d have on his team!! 😭😅
Dobengal would be a fighting-type gym leader.
I see him being the 6th gym leader in your journey.
His gym would be in city, Iridiana.
Iridiana is Greek for rainbow! I chose this name because Dobengal uses some sort of rainbow magic in canon.
Imagine his gym is similar to a fighting dojo!! All of the trainers you have to battle would be members of his family!
Be prepared to battle many Mienshao, Machamp, Hitmonchan, all of those cuties.
Please train your team before challenging his gym. PLEASE. All of his team excels in speed.
Dobengal has many Pokémon and he constantly rotates his party. You never really know who he will send out and that’s what is so terrifying about challenging him. You think you can defeat him by bringing in a flying type? Dobengal counters that with his Weavile. Psychic type? Counters with his Bisharp.
Neither of those two Pokémon are fighting types, but he does not give a damn.
His most common team is usually:
Hariyama
Ninjask
Lucario
Weavile
Gallade
And his biggest triumph card, his Greninja.
Froakie was his first-ever starter, and until this very day, is the only Pokémon he has never switched out from his party.
He gave it the name Kunai because when he was a kid, they used to play ninjas together. Dobengal’s choice of weapon was shuriken and Kunai’s choice of weapon was a kunai!
If you have ever watched Pokémon XYZ series... Yes, he and his Greninja share the same bond as Ash does with his.
Dobengal-Greninja!!
Do you remember that one Pokémon trainer Tobias who had a literal Latios AND Darkrai on his team??
Yeah, he also has an Urshifu (Fighting-Water).
Urshifu, for many reasons, is not used for his gym battles. He never caught Urshifu into a pokéball! They just love to have each other around.
Cute note! Dobengal and his family started a home for nursing sick and injured Pokémon back to health!! 😭🥺. Whenever he is not working at his gym, you can always find him at the shelter taking care of Pokémon. He loves Pokémon SOOOO MUCH.
You actually found him at the shelter because you found an injured Pokémon on the way to Iridiana City. He would be so grateful for you to bring in the Pokémon here. Once they were okay, you two would proceed to his gym.
It was not an easy battle. You challenged him like what, 3-5 times? But you would never feel embarrassed by losing. Dobengal is strict and scary in battle, but he will always make sure to give you supportive advice. He wants you to learn from your mistakes and become the best trainer for you and your dear Pokémon.
One day, you finally beat him!! He’d be so proud. It wasn’t easy with his Dobengal-Greninja & Mega Gallade, but you did it. He’d congratulate you with the TM, Close Combat, as well his gym badge, the Ninja Badge.
Sorano/Angel Aguria - Pokémon Performer
Tumblr media
She is beauty, she is grace, and her Pokémon will gracefully kick you in the face!! Miss Sorano Aguria!
Sorano had sort of a rocky start to her path as a Pokémon trainer. She used to be one of the elite members, AKA the Six Prayers, of the now-disbanded team, Team Oración Seis.
It has been years afterward and Sorano has begrudgingly paid her time with the Magic Council. She has now reunited with her younger sister, Yukino Aguria, and the girls have started a new slate of sisterhood.
It truly was a struggle to find out what she wanted to do. She’d always see Yukino come home from work all exhausted and happy. Now, Sorano adored her baby sister. She loved to see her succeed with her work!
She did despise Yukino’s best friend and coworker, Lucy Heartfilia, but that’s another story.
But, it kind of sucked seeing her sister make all of the big moves and she was stuck at home watching her 10th rewatch of Keeping Up With Blue Pegasus.
But, on her 11th rewatch, something clicked for her when Jenny Realight smacked BFF, Karen Lilica, for sleeping with her boyfriend, Hibiki Lates.
Sorano was so much better than everyone on that goddamn show and she deserved as much stardom as those Blue Pegasus trainers.
What’s not to like? She's funny, honest, beautiful, and stylish, don’t look at her criminal record. She can be just as famous and popular as them!
And so forth began her path onto become a star.
She decided to pursue a career as a Pokémon Performer.
Sorano had all of the support from her precious sister and the mockery of her ex-teammates from Team OS.
But that did not stop them from going to all of her performances and getting front-row seats.
As well as going with her to every store to find her the right outfit for her first showcase. As well as doing her hair and makeup. As well as going to all of her rehearsals and giving her constructive criticism. She will always have her boys’ support. They’ll never say it aloud though.
Erik got arrested on the 1st night of Angel’s showcase. It’s not his fault! A stranger in the crowd had insulted her. Erik walked out of the showcase with a smile on his face and handcuffs on his wrists.
She soon earned the nickname, Angel! It is because she carries the grace and elegance of an angel when performing.
Angel specializes in flying-type Pokémon!
Her team consists of:
Mawile
Oricorio (Sensu-Style)
Swanna
Togekiss
Altaria
Lugia
Back in her time in Team OS, each of the 6 Prayers was gifted a legendary Pokémon by their ex-master, Brain.
Sawyer wields Deoxys (Speed Form)
Richard wields Regirock.
Erik wields Eternatus.
Macbeth wields Yveltal.
She dearly loves all of her Pokémon. Mawile is the only non-flying type in her team. She keeps it in her team because it was a gift from Yukino.
She loves to soar the skies with all of her team. Angel puts on the best showcases and later became a superstar. She's on all the magazines, has her own podcast, and will soon be having her own show: Fiore’s Next Top Pokéformer.
Please don’t let her be in the same room as Lisia.. There can only be one star with an Altaria.
Yukino Aguria - Scientist
Tumblr media
Yukino grew up with her roommates and best friends, Lucy Heartfilia and Hisui Fiore.
She had lost her parents at a young age and her elder sister had taken off with the wrong crowd for a few years. It was difficult to watch the news of Team OS causing destruction in the region. She had tried many times to get through to her sister, but it had never worked. One day, with the help of trainers from the Fairy Tail school, Team OS was defeated. Yukino had the comfort of her friends when her sister was arrested.
Yukino tried to reach out to her, but Sorano (ridden with guilt and shame) didn’t speak with her for some time. It wasn’t until a few years into Sorano’s imprisonment that she finally reached out to Yukino.
It was with the help of higher powers in the world that had given the sisters a chance to bond again.
Sorano was free, Yukino moved out from her apartment, and the sisters settled down at a home together.
Yukino and her BFFs all work in the Aether Foundation (Lusamine has stepped down and Loke is now the head of it all.) Yukino, Lucy, and Hisui are scientists who are researching the Ultra Wormholes & Beasts.
Yukino has always had a passion for science and Pokémon. She always excelled at science in school. Yukino loves to visit her coworker Lisanna Strauss who works in the medical field of AF and helps find cures for injured Pokémon.
Lusamine was someone Yukino had so much respect for and it hurt once she learned of the woman’s true colors. She, her friends, coworkers, as well as Lusamine’s children, had worked together to put an end to Lusamine.
Yukino was the reason they could stop Lusamine and Necrozma. With her research, they were able to travel to Ultra Megalopolis. Yukino became the face of many scientific journals afterward.
The foundation was in a troubled state after Lusamine’s departure, but the girls have been rising in the ranks and helping create a new and safe image for their work. Yukino has been intrigued by Lusamine’s work and has been researching the UW more in-depth. She wanted to know if there were more Ultra Beasts out in the world and wanted to help them and make sure a situation like Lusamine never happened again.
With the combined teamwork of her & the Ultra Recon Squad, they found more Ultra Beasts.
Yukino had become even more popular. As a form of gratitude, the Ultra Recon Squad, had given her an UB to have as her own; Celesteela.
Yukino was never one to go down the path as a Pokémon trainer like most of her friends from Sabertooth High. She was a scientist and she did carry a few Pokémon. But, she never wanted to own an Ultra Beast. She just wanted to help and discover new things about them and the world they live in.
However, Celesteela wanted to be with Yukino. Celesteela was Yukino’s research beast and it had grown to love Yukino. Yukino couldn’t say no to it, and accepted it onto her team.
Yukino’s team consists of psychic and steel Pokémon.
Celesteela
Metagross
Solrock
Lunatone
Oricorio (Pa’U Style; a gift from Sorano.)
Copperajah
Rufus Lore - Elite Four
Tumblr media
Off topic, but Rufus reminds me of Avery and Bede from SWSH. I say this in a good way because I love all 3 of them.
Rufus is a child prodigy. He came from a rich family and had a personal trainer as a kid. His parents were infamous trainers and are close friends of the owner of Parfum Palace in the Kalos region.
Rufus had a natural talent for Pokémon and always won his battles. He wins his battles with his smart skills and quick thinking. He quickly rose in the ranks and became a trainer. One of the past E4 members in the Ishgar region had left due to an illness. Rufus had decided to test his strength and try to earn the spot of the new E4. It was a difficult process, even for him, but he was the only one who stood out to the champion and E4.
He became the newest member not so long ago. Each of the E4 excel in one base stats. He excels highly in defense.
Rufus wields psychic and fairy-type Pokémon.
His team consists of:
Hatterene
Sigilyph
Meowstic
Unown
Galarian Rapidash
Alakazam
His arena is a library, similar to Shauntal’s arena from Unova. But rather all purple, his is pink and sophisticated. He has his instruments in his arena and most of the time, you will find him singing as he plays on his piano or harp.
Rufus is new, and a little experienced. He is not one to admit his mistakes, but his new E4 friends are always there to help him grow as a member of the E4. He is not one to accept defeat well, but he is slowly learning to accept it. It’s the perfectionist in him. But as time goes by, he lets go of that part of himself.
Rufus remembers all of his opponents and will take each lesson he learns from each battle with him.
Rufus first pokémon was Hatterene as a kid. He will never let anyone know this, but he had chosen Hatterene because they both wore hats. That was his logic back then.
Please beware of his Hatterene when it completes it Gigantamax. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. TAKE THE L.
Orga Nanagear - Elite Four
Tumblr media
ORGA <333
The oldest of the E4. He is like a big brother to everyone. He’s the favorite of everyone. He’s a really nice and outgoing guy, with a horrible voice. He was found by the champion on the streets of Nimbasa City. The champion watched his battle with Elesa. They were fascinated with his attitude and skills. They had later brought in Orga for further interest, and he later earned the title as an E4.
Orga specializes in electric-type pokémon!
While Rufus specializes in defense, Orga specializes in attack!
His arena is a concert stadium.
Please for the love of God, WEAR NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONES.
No matter how many times people tell him how atrocious his singing is, he does not believe it. His grandma said she loved his singing!
His grandma is just as awful at singing.
His arena is filled with groupies as he sings his original songs to them. You will battle him in front of his fans.
Off topic, but Orga reminds me Tierno!! AHHH
Orga’s team consists of:
Magnezone
Luxray
Tapu Koko
Toxtricity (Amped-Form)
Electivre
Hawlucha
Now, Hawluchia is not an electric type, but!! You know how Ash’s Hawlucha acts? That’s how Orga’s Hawlucha behaves. He loves this little guy OMG.
Orga may look like a giant, but he is such a softie for tiny pokémon. Especially tiny electric pokémon.
Emolga, Pichu, Pachirusu, Plusle, Minun, Jolteon, Yamper, Helioptile, Dedenne, Togedemaru, Morpeko.... HE LOVES THEM ALL!
Orga’s a fair sport if he loses. He’ll definitely think you’re awesome and will give you merchandise and a signed CD of his original songs.
There’s a bucket of his CDs piled on the garbage can on the way to the next E4.
Rogue Cheney - Elite Four
Tumblr media
HONEY BEAR <33333
Rogue had a similar past to Sorano! He was a part of Team Phantom Lord, but he was not one of the higher ranks. He was a part of Team PL since he was a child. His father, Skiadrum, was one of the higher officials and wanted Rogue to take his spot.
Team PL had disbanded after being defeated by the Fairy Tail dojo, and Skiadrum was soon arrested by the Magic Council. Rogue was put into a foster home soon after. He only had 2 things with him. (1) His cat, Frosch. (2) The pokémon his father wanted him to wield once he was older, Zekrom.
Rogue had no idea what to do with Zekrom. It was the last gift from his father. But his father wanted him to use it for evil purposes.
But that was the thing. Rogue did not want to be evil.
Hell, he had no idea what he wanted to be.
The guilt had overwhelmed him and he had escaped his foster home. Rogue had been on his own for a while now and he still had not taken Zekrom out of its pokéball. Rogue started to live a small, quiet life in Ishgar, but his father’s enemies had found out he had Zekrom.
Rogue was on the run for some time and had escaped captivity from his father’s enemies. One day, when he was older, he had unintentionally run into the champion of Ishgar. The two had started a blooming friendship.
Rogue liked talking to this person. They were so kind and easy to talk to. They had kept their friendship for years. The champion went off working and taking care of the throne, Rogue working a small, life. He rounded up a few Pokémon of his own but had never started a journey. Rogue slowly grew to bond with Zekrom. He didn’t view Zekrom as a legendary monster, bur rather a friend.
And one day, the champion visited him and asked to battle him.
It was an even match, but Rogue had lost.
Embarrassment filled him, but it soon turned to astonishment when he found out the champion was testing his skills. They had decided to make him a part of their E4.
Rogue was speechless.
There were so many contenders who could make a better E4 and they chose him?
The champion said all the other contenders lacked something that Rogue had, and that was empathy.
It was Rogue’s love for Zekrom and his team that the champion knew he would be perfect.
Rogue was the second of the current E4 to join.
His arena is simple but classy. It resembles Drayden’s gym in Unova.
Orga specializes in attack, Rufus specializes in defense, and Rogue had specialized in both speed and special attack.
Rogue’s team consisted of a mixture of dark, ghost, and dragon-type pokémon.
Zekrom
Dusknoir
Haxorus
Hydreigon
Purrloin
Dragapult
He is the only member of the E4 who does not use mega evolutions, Z-moves, or Dynamax. Do not underestimate him though. There’s a reason why he is an E4 member.
Just like Orga, Rogue adores tiny pokémon. That is why he has Purrloin on his team. It is very nice friends with Frosch.
Rogue is very smart, but also kind in battle. He enjoys seeing people’s love for their partners and always wants what is best for them.
Sting Eucliffe - Elite Four
Tumblr media
The final and strongest member of the E4!! <333
Sting was the third to join the E4. He was the only one to defeat all 8 of Ishgar’s gym leaders. He managed to defeat Orga, Rogue, and the previous E4 members. But, he had lost to the champion.
The champion saw traits similar to Orga and Rogue. Sting had Orga’s attitude, while also having Rogue’s empathy.
The champion loved how kind Sting had treated all of his pokémon after he had lost.
Sting is a very carefree guy and doesn’t take things to heart.
The champion had offered him a spot right then and there. One of the previous E4 members was leaving for unknown circumstances.
Sting had taken the job right on the spot.
Sting specialized in speed and special defense.
He specializes in dragon-type pokémon.
His team is:
Reshiram
Duraludon
Noivern
Garchomp
Salamence
AbsoL
Absol was his first ever pokémon. He loves it dearly.
He and Rogue became fast friends when he became a member of the E4. Partly because each of them wielded a legendary dragon type. Reshiram and Zekrom are very good friends.
Sting’s the most easy going, but he is also the most serious in battle. He takes his job very seriously. but don’t be too scared of him! He just wants you to understand the importance of what it means to get here and to be prepared for the champion.
Minerva Orlando - Champion of the Ishgar Region
Tumblr media
THE QUEEN. I LOVE FEMALE CHAMPIONS. WE LOVE YOU CYNTHIA, DIANTHA, & IRIS. <33333
Since forever, the Orlandos have ruled Ishgar. Minerva’s father, Jiemma, was the previous champion before he was surpassed by his daughter. Jiemma surpassed his mother, his mother surpassed his grandfather, and so on.
It's tradition.
Minerva was the fastest Orlando to become champion. She was an all-around trainer and took Ishgar by storm.
Each of the E4 excel in particular areas.
Minerva? She excels in it all.
She may be intimidating, but she does care for those around her deeply.
She was the one who helped Sorano get a shortened sentence, allowing the Aguria’s to reunite.
She was also the one to help Orga, Rogue, and Sting become E4 members.
She had helped Rufus design his arena and become less of a perfectionist.
She was the one who helped Dobengal build his shelter for Pokémon.
Minerva Orlando will do anything for those she loves.
Minerva does not have one specific type of pokémon.
Like I said, she’s an all-rounder. Her team consists of:
Palkia
Ninetales
Serperior
Gardevoir
Scolipede
Aurorus
There is a reason why no one has been able to dethrone her. It’s because she is the very best of them all.

The Perils Of Matchmaking
Tumblr media
Summary: Freed knew he and Laxus couldn't last, and he was meant to marry someone else. But, at his engagement party, he realises the mistake he's made. But is it too late?
Notes: Hi all. Day for of @fuckyeahfraxus Fraxus Week. This one is inspired by royal romances. It also has a side ship of Rufus x Orga, which was really fun to write. I hope you enjoy it.
Links: Ao3, FFN
The Perils of Matchmaking
As a prospective mate, there was nothing necessarily wrong with Rufus.
Freed knew that he would have to marry the man, so he should probably start being more optimistic about him. He should also start referring to Rufus as his fiancé rather than his prospective mate, but it was the only way he could protest the ridiculous lot in life he'd been given, and he would do so until he could no longer speak. Words like fiancé, lover, and partner were far too romantic anyway, that was hardly an accurate descriptor for what was happening between Prince Freed Justine, third of his name, and Viscount Rufus Lore.
Rufus was fine, but not much else. He was elegant, handsome, and charming enough, but not to Freed's taste. He was simply a little too… royal. He had probably been prepared from childhood to be Freed's ideal husband, and as such he'd had his personality whipped away. Or maybe he'd always been this way, Freed didn't know.
That was Freed's main problem with Rufus: he didn't know him.
Optimistically, Freed would say they had met maybe three times in their lives. Once, when they were children, Rufus had been invited to the palace so Freed could meet boys his own age. Once on Freed's sixteenth birthday, when Rufus had been invited as the guest of honour despite Freed not remembering his name. And the current time, at their engagement party. All in all, Freed would say they'd had about seven hours in each other's company in their lives, and now they were expected to be wed and to be happy about it. Freed had to wonder at his parents' delusion, because they were really acting as if this day was the best of his life. They genuinely seemed to think that he would be delighted with this turn of events.
Maybe he was being cruel in an immediate dismissal. They'd chosen a man over a woman, and Freed knew of many kingdoms where that wouldn't be an option. And, on paper, he and Rufus could be seen as kindred spirits. Intellectuals at heart, a similar shared fashion style, and likely they were both born to a lifestyle the general populous wouldn't understand. But, speaking with Rufus just made Freed feel flat. Stilted. Uninterested.
The party was already a rambunctious affair, with the usually reserved and stiff collared people of the palace seemingly free and loose from their restrictions. They danced and drank and laughed, and it felt like Freed was the only person there struggling with the event. He wondered if it showed on his face.
Probably. He didn't have much to smile about.
Obviously, he had known this was coming, but it didn't make things any easier. As he sat at the head of the table, his future mate beside him, he felt hollow and bored and miserable in equal measures. The lavishness around him seemed to taunt him, like a trap that nobody else could see. The ring on his finger was the shackle, one that he would be with for the rest of his life.
He gulped down a solemn swallow at the thought of his future. That had always been out of his control, but recently it didn't feel like it. The past year, he had seen the cracks in his gilded cage and felt like he could break free from it. But not anymore, not without Laxus.
Where was Laxus? It was all Freed could think about.
Of course, he wasn't at the party, he was far too low a rung on the castle's ladder. He was a knight, so likely was standing at one of the doors, keeping them safe and contributing to the world rather than dictating it. Freed could probably find him, if he were so inclined, and spin a lie about needing air to tender his thoughts and better give his future husband the attention he deserved, but he thought against it. Standing beside Laxus was nothing, certainly not compared to lying in his arms.
Thinking of Laxus was the worst thing he could do, of course. The heart could only yearn for what the mind gave focus to, but knowing that didn't change Freed. All he could think of was the night before, where he'd slept in Laxus' arms.
----
"We could run," Freed said, voice low and quiet. "Steal a horse and some jewels, flee the country and live as we pleased."
Laxus chuckled, and Freed was rocked slightly by the movement of his body. They were in Laxus' barracks, tucked close in the cot bed and huddled under the scratchy blankets they were provided. Nobody else in the barracks was awake, and Freed doubted they would speak up if they did. The entire guard's unit knew of he and Laxus' relationship, and Freed wouldn't be shocked if it was castle gossip all around.
"Where would we go?" Laxus asked, a finger gently drawing spirals into Freed's back. "Not the south, right?"
"Of course," Freed huffed out an offended scoff. "Far too hot a climate. No, somewhere to the north, where it snows. The mountains, perhaps. You could build us a cabin; it should be easy for you with how often you boast your practical skills."
"I could," Laxus nodded a little, and Freed smiled. He yawned and let his eyes flutter closed, his cheek brushing Laxus' chest. "Or we could get a house that's already been built. With a bed and a kitchen and everything your princely ass couldn't live without."
"A beautiful view would tend to all my needs," Freed assured him, then yawned again. "And with you around, I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem."
"You're bein' charming now, huh?"
"No, simply pointing out that you're so ridiculously tall that sitting on your shoulders would put me higher than any ugly intrusion," Freed smiled as Laxus laughed and pulled him closer. "I'm sure that, with your help, I could see the ocean from any part of the kingdom without hindrance."
"Nah, you just think I'm beautiful," Laxus pushed, and Freed was not going to argue with that. "So, we're living in the mountains in a cabin that I've built, huh? You gonna contribute anything to this or just sit on your ass and look at the view."
"Would providing materials for the house count?"
"Not if you want all the prince jokes to stop."
"I could learn to hunt," Freed mused, eyes closing as he considered. "I've shot animals before, so if we stole a rifle then I could use that. And if not, then I'm sure you could train me to use a knife. That would work better, I expect. No need to rely on a town for ammunition. We could be self sufficient. Just the two of us."
"Is that what you'd want?" Laxus asked, sounding tired himself. "Just the two of us."
"It's something I think about a lot," Freed gently ran a hand down Laxus' stomach, cold skin a nice contrast to Freed's warmer body. "The two of us together. No need to consider what other people think. No need to hide away from the crowds and my parents. No need to be anything but in love with each other."
"You need to be alone for that?" Laxus asked, and there was a tinge of an emotion there. An emotion Freed couldn't identify but didn't like.
"I would make you my consort at this moment if I could. I would parade you around with such pride that nobody in this kingdom would dare doubt my adoration for you. I would declare my love for you on the world's stage, but I can't," Freed pressed a light kiss onto Laxus' chest. "But there's precedent for breaking the tradition of matchmaking. If the current King or Queen aren't in support of the match, the attacks begin. Everyone in society will slander you, dredge up everything you've done and paint it in a way that makes you look awful. You'll be after money and power, and you'd only be with me to use me. Or you'd be reduced to a pretty face that turned me away from my duties. If my family isn't united in your support, you're the enemy. You'd be forced to dine with men who want to hurt you, each and every day, and I don't think I can put you through that."
"What if I think you're worth all of that?" Laxus asked.
"Then I would doubt your judgement," Freed sighed, looking up at Laxus' with sad eyes. "I don't know what we can do, Laxus. But I know what it's like to have an entire kingdom judging you, and that's horrid enough when they seem to like you. Having that many people hate you - and to have them hate you for loving someone - it would be unimaginable. I can't think that wouldn't be hell on earth," He averted his eyes, speaking quietly. "I can't imagine it wouldn't ruin what we have. I'm scared of you growing to not love me anymore. I'm sorry if it's selfish."
"It's not selfish," Laxus murmured. "I hate it, I'm not gonna pretend I don't, but I'm not gonna push you to do anything you don't want to do."
"Would you say yes," Freed whispered. "If I could make it happen, would you rule beside me? Be my prince?"
"It'd be an honour," Laxus' voice was so quiet, Freed could barely hear it, but the words nursed him into a soft, dream filled sleep.
----
"I can't do this," Rufus' voice cut through Freed's thoughts, and it took him a moment to realise Rufus was looking at him. He was smiling as if sharing a secret between lovers, but his tone belied his inner turmoil. "I'm sorry, but I can't."
"You can't do what?" Freed asked, wondering after the smile.
"Marry you," Rufus said it so quietly that nobody but Freed would have been able to hear it. "I'm truly sorry if this is something that you wanted, but I'm of the idea that love trumps convenience and the desire for social advancement. I played along with this, I didn't know what else to do, but this is far too much for me. A wedding without love is a contradiction in terms. This night has been hellish - a night of sitting on thrones and being catered to - and I can't endure a life like this. I can't marry you, Prince Justine. I'm sorry but I can't."
Freed looked at Rufus properly for the first time, and it was like looking at a new man. He still wore the fake smile, probably to stop anyone looking from realising what they were discussing, but there was an honesty and openness in him now. If they were alike as Freed thought they were, he could only imagine one thing that would bring out such openness.
"Who are they? The person who has claimed your heart so strongly."
"Orga Nanagear," Rufus whispered, and smiled earnestly at the name. Freed gaped at the familiar name.
"Dreng Orga Nanagear?" He parroted the name, adding the title to the start of it. "The scourge of the northern seas? The warrior of lightning? That Orga Nanagear?"
"He'll be delighted to know his reputation proceeds him this far into land," Rufus laughed to himself. "And yes, the very same."
"How in the god's name did that happen?" Freed spluttered, fascination drowning out everything else.
Under his breath, Rufus told Freed the first love story he had ever believed in. Rufus, under his father's command, needed to earn his place in the family business. He had been sent to the north to negotiate for a cheaper price of fish from one of his father's suppliers. Rufus had been arrogant and assumed it would be easy, and as such had conducted his negotiation on the boat itself. It had not gone well, a scuffle had occurred, and the fishermen had pushed Rufus overboard and left him to swim back to the coastline despite being miles away from it. He would have likely drowned in the churning ocean, if it weren't for the Viking captain Dreng Orga Nanagear, who fished him from the ocean and took him back to shore.
Rufus had caught a cold after his dunking in the ocean, and Orga had nursed him to health before allowing him to leave for home. Rufus' father had beaten him for destroying his links to the fisherman, and Orga had offered him a home to recover. Rufus had fallen in love, and Orga had fallen for him back.
As enraptured as Freed was by this abridged story, he could only really focus on Rufus's smile. It was the smile of a man besotted, and it made Freed think back to Laxus and the moment he knew he was in love.
----
"Wow, you are really bad at that," Laxus' grumbling voice shocked Freed, and he fumbled with the bow and let the arrow fall to the grass as he turned.
It was night, and Freed was standing in the knight's training yard, which was illuminated by torches despite the fact it was meant to be unused in the night. The archery targets were still set up, and an array of arrows were scattered across the grass near the closest target. One of them had actually hit the target, and quite close to the centre too, but anyone who saw the mess could guess that it had been a fluke rather than a sudden burst of skill.
"Do you really want to mock me when I'm armed?" Freed asked, raising the bow and pointing it at Laxus despite it not having an arrow.
"With your aim? I'm not scared," Laxus smiled, handsome face illuminated by the flickering torch light as he stepped closer. He was wearing his casual clothes and looked handsome in his sleep worn state. "But I'm afraid I'm not here for you, your highness. Y'see, I was told there was a neerdowell skulking around the training grounds; apparently a shady character who could pose a threat to the royal family. It can't be you, of course. Because, if it was you that might be trying to kill the king, you'd at least have to be able to shoot an arrow at a target that's about ten feet away. Looking around at this, at all these embarrassing mistakes, I don't believe you could do that."
"And I didn't believe you could say words as long as neerdowell. I suppose life is full of surprises," Freed smiled, walking towards Laxus with the bow still in hand.
"Guess it is," Laxus nodded, placing his hands on Freed's side. "A lot of people are surprised at how good a bowstring can be at strangling a jumped up little rich boy when he pisses a knight off."
"It's perhaps less surprising to find out that the aforementioned rich boy-"
"Jumped up little rich boy," Laxus corrected.
"The aforementioned jumped up little rich boy," Freed agreed with a smile. "Can have any knight hung, drawn and quartered without any difficulty whatsoever."
"Capital punishment is outlawed," Laxus murmured with a smile.
"There are other definitions behind those words," Freed purred, leaning in, his breath ghosting Laxus' lips. "Maybe I would have you painted nude, and have prints sold throughout the kingdom for a quarter of your worth. That would certainly bring out your shy side, I expect."
"That's only drawn and quartered. I guess the hung part was covered with me being nude?" Laxus grinned.
"Don't be smug, darling. You're much better red faced and stumbling over your words," Freed pressed a chaste kiss, before his teasing smile parted for a genuine one. "I'm sorry if I forced you out of your bed. I thought I was being subtle."
"I was playing cards with some of the other men," Laxus shrugged, and Freed didn't believe him. Your hair didn't get that messy playing cards. But, Laxus was being kind so Freed wouldn't call him out on his lie. Laxus took the bow from Freed's hand and gently ran a finger down the wood. "You're still at it, huh?"
"Until I become proficient, this is where I'll be."
As part of his duty to his kingdom, Freed needed to be battle ready. His family had told him he needed to excel at one of the fighting styles that his army were required to know, so that if war came, he could fight alongside them. He had chosen swordsmanship and had gotten a reputation for being able to hold his own against most of the knights who were stationed at the castle. Not enough for him, he wanted to learn the other main form of fighting: archery. But his skills with a sword were inversely proportional to his skills with a bow, as he was pathetically inept with the weapon.
For two weeks, he had been trying, and yet he had made no progress. He chalked that up to being distracted by other duties, which had been put on hold when he was learning to use a sword, but he had kept at it. But as he put more time into it, his skills remained low.
"Show me what you're doin', I'll tell you where you're going wrong," Laxus instructed, removing his hands from Freed's hips.
Freed nodded, pulled an arrow from the quiver and pulled it into the bow. As he had multiple times that night, he pulled the bowstring back, closed one of his eyes and did his best to focus on the centre of the target. The bowstring snapped with a loud twang as he released it, and the arrow flew through the air. It was on track from the target but landed in the dirt a limp three feet from the target. Freed could have snapped the bow in frustration.
"You're trying to run before you can walk," Laxus scolded, stepping forward. "You're focusing on the target, but you're not there yet. You don't know how to judge power yet. If you don't know how to do that, you can't aim. You're trying to do everything but don't know how to do anything yet."
It was refreshingly honest, and Freed liked that about Laxus. "How did you know that?"
"You kept wavering between raising the bow higher to get it to stay in the air longer and pulling the string back to amp up the power," Laxus answered, then walked towards the row of targets. He started to move them around, taking them off their stands and placing them face up on the ground in a row in front of Freed. "Shoot an arrow, don't aim for anything. If you shoot it straight, it's gonna hit one of these targets."
Laxus stepped back and crossed his arms, a clear sign that Freed was being instructed and there was no room for argument. Freed pulled another arrow from the quiver, slid the string back and let the arrow fly. As Laxus had expected, it landed on one of the targets that covered the grass. The fifth one in the row.
"Good," Laxus said, not moving. "Do it again, exactly like you just did, and hit the same target. We're gonna stay here until you've hit that target ten times."
"Why?" Freed asked but pulled an arrow out.
"Because once you've managed it ten times, you'll know exactly how far you pull the string back and how high to aim it. You know how to get the power for that exact shot, and that's a good baseline to start with. Once we figure that out, we figure out what we need to do to get you to hit the next target. We make those adjustments, you hit the next target ten times. Then we do it with another target. Then another. We keep going until you can judge how to cover each distance. Once we're comfortable with that, you're halfway to being good at archery."
It sounded so simple, and Laxus' simple pragmatism spurred Freed on.
Simple was the last thing it was, and after missing the target five times Freed wanted to set the bow on fire and storm into his quarters in defeat. He knew Laxus wouldn't allow that, not after the last time Laxus tried to teach him something. His parents had been away, and Laxus had told the maid that Freed wanted to clean his own quarters for the week. Laxus had demanded military standards when it came to how Freed made his bed and mopped his floor and Freed had eventually yelled at Laxus that this was not something he needed to know.
Laxus had, in turn, decided that Freed was sleeping in the barracks for the rest of the week and would work to the same standard as all the castle's knights. Erza, the knight commander, had needed some convincing to let it happen, but she had caved, and Freed had lived like a knight for a week. It had been hard for him, but good. He learned personal responsibility and his first touch of true independence. Now, he didn't need a maid for his chambers, which kept him grounded and allowed his cleaner some time off.
No, Laxus wouldn't let him storm off when things got hard, and Freed was glad of it.
"Okay, let's try this," Laxus said, stepping forward when he could see Freed's frustration growing. "Close your eyes."
"What?"
"Close your eyes and let me guide you."
Freed, not sure what was about to happen, closed his eyes. Laxus stood behind him, body pressed against Freed's as he placed his hands on Freed's. He guided Freed without words, showing him how high to aim the arrow and how far back to hold the bow.
"Think about how your body is right now. Remember it. Keep it sealed in your muscles," Laxus said, voice low and distracting. "Let it go, but keep your eyes closed.
Freed did as he was told. He took a moment to focus on his body, the strain in his muscles and the wind on his face. The bow was tilted up and his fingers were burning against the bowstring. He was getting good at meditation - another thing Laxus had taught him about - and he felt at one with his body for the moment. There was no target to shoot, just a post to hold. With that in mind, he let the arrow go and kept his eyes closed, focusing on the sound of the airborne arrow.
"Did it hit the target?" Freed asked, expecting Laxus to move. He didn't.
"I ain't gonna tell you that until I say something else first," Laxus whispered into Freed's ear. "You're allowed not to be good at this, you understand me? I get you're a perfectionist, and you hate it when things don't work out, but I need you to know things can go wrong and it doesn't mean the world's gonna end. It's okay to miss."
"Laxus, I'm a prince-"
"That's why I'm saying it," Laxus said firmly. "People act like you can't make mistakes, and maybe there are things you'll have to do that y' have to get right, but not this. Nothing with me has to be perfect, you understand? At least with me, you can stumble around in the dark and fuck up all you want. I wanna see that side of you as much as I wanna see the perfect prince."
Freed didn't know what to say, and there was a worry that he might be crying, so all he could think to do was whisper: "Can I open my eyes now, Laxus?"
"Of course," Laxus smiled, still not moving.
Freed opened his eyes and saw the arrow he had shot in the centre of the target. Laxus hadn't said all of that to placate him and make him feel better, he had said it just for the sake of it. Because he wanted Freed to know it. That was the moment he knew Laxus was the man he loved.
----
"You can't marry me," Freed agreed, because if Rufus felt for Orga like Freed felt for Laxus, then trapping him in marriage would be cruel.
"Who are they?" Rufus parroted Freed's own words back at him, and Freed smiled indulgently.
"He's one of my knights," He confessed, blushing a little. "You might have seen him. He's blonde, rather large and with a scar over his eye in the shape of a lightning bolt."
"Yes, I did. He's a handsome man, isn't he?" Rufus laughed, and Freed tried to ignore the slight shot of jealousy that ran through him. "And a knight in your own castle? You certainly don't make things easy for yourself, do you?"
"Says the man in love with a Viking," Freed laughed.
"No, I think out of the two of us, I've chosen the easier life," Rufus sounded remorseful, then looked contemplative for a moment. A stubborn look crossed his face, and Freed had to wonder what was going on in his mind. "Despite that, I believe that I might have a way for us both to be happy."
"Oh?" Freed asked but didn't believe it.
"If I don't marry you, I'll be removed from polite society with vicious speed," Rufus said, and Freed knew that it was true. "I only have my father left, and I don't care for him. While wealth keeps me comfortable, it doesn't do much else for me. I don't own anything, not until I inherit my family business. My father is unfortunately quite healthy, so that will take some time. All of this is to say, I lift out of society shockingly well. In fact, I'd wager that I could run for the north, stumble across a certain boat, and live a life with the captain without anybody caring about it. It's a sad reflection on my life up until now, but helpful given the situation."
"I suppose it is," Freed said slowly, not exactly sure how this helped him.
"If I'm leaving, I don't care about the legacy I leave behind me," Rufus continued, almost sounding mischievous. "A prince and a knight aren't a bad match, they would just need a little push to get the public on their side. Who doesn't love a good love story? And what is a love story without a villain? A villain who, perhaps, cheated on the charming prince despite their engagement?"
Freed looked around. The idea was a good one. If he painted Rufus as the cheat, then Freed could get out of this marriage without anyone questioning him. It would be easy to spin a story about the prince falling into the arms of a handsome guard, who repaired his heart and brought his smile back. The public would eat it up.
"You'd be okay with playing that role?"
"I'm perfectly fine with it. Are you okay with playing the role of a jilted lover?" Rufus asked, and Freed nodded. He could play any role to assure his and Laxus' relationship. "This will only work on the public, I expect. Your family-"
"I will deal with my family," Freed said firmly. "Perhaps if I had done so earlier none of this would be needed. You have my apologies for that."
"We both made mistakes, we wouldn't be here if we hadn't," Rufus shrugged. "You should expose me as a cheater here and now, so people can gossip about it, and nobody can deny it."
"You'll have to make a swift exit," Freed mused, looking around.
"I may have organised a horse to be waiting for me," Rufus said, averting his eyes. "Just in case. Don't worry about me, Freed. I can handle myself."
"I can see that. I do have one more question for you, before we do this," Freed smiled a little, and Rufus tilted his head. "The Vikings, do they have any form of marriage in their culture?"
"They do, though not quite like what we know it to be," Rufus looked content even thinking about it. "It's purely an expression of love, there's no exchange of property nor societal position. It's simply a way for two people who have found love to celebrate it publicly and further their bond."
"Well, if it's appropriate, when you and your Viking engage in this ceremony, I will expect an invitation, as will my knight," Freed said with princely authority. Rufus just laughed.
"I will make it so," Rufus promised. "Now, enough dawdling, I have a veritable God sailing around without my company and I'd like to amend that fact. Might I suggest throwing a drink in my face to kickstart the proceedings."
Freed smiled, picked up a glass filled with wine, and nodded. "It'd be my pleasure."
----
Four Hours Later
"Hey," Laxus said quietly, sneaking into Freed's room quietly. "Heard what happened. You okay?"
Freed was still wearing the suit he had worn for his engagement party and had been waiting impatiently for Laxus to arrive. Usually, it would be Freed going to Laxus as Freed could walk the halls without question, but he was being watched and gossiped about by everyone in the castle so couldn't leave his room without being talked about. Laxus, however, had managed to get the night patrol so could walk to Freed's rooms without anyone wondering what he was doing. Freed tried not to focus on the fact Laxus had gotten the night shift as a distraction from Freed's engagement.
Once he saw Laxus, Freed felt warm inside again. He stormed over to him and hugged him despite his armour and the hilt of his sword digging into his thigh. Laxus hugged him back, and Freed smiled into the awkward and metallic embrace.
"Freed, seriously, you okay?" Laxus insisted, but he sounded hesitant. "Everyone who saw what happened said you looked… heartbroken."
"I'm fine, Laxus," Freed assured him.
"He was cheating on you, right? Fucking asshole. Lucky I didn't see him or I'd-"
"Laxus, he didn't cheat on me because we were never together. We were victims of matchmaking, and we had met three times in total. If he was cheating on me, then I was also cheating on him," Freed pulled away, and cupped Laxus' cheeks with both hands fondly. "There was one man in this castle who has a claim to my heart, and it is you. Nobody else even comes close to you."
"I heard you threw a drink at him," Laxus argued. "You wouldn't-"
"We both have men in our lives we love, and a public argument would allow us to love these men freely," Freed said firmly. "He needed to be disowned in disgrace so he could run to his lover, and I needed to be left at the altar so I could fall in love with the man I was always meant to be all along."
"Me?"
"Yes, you beautiful idiot," Freed scolded lightly, before sighing and letting his face fall. "I shouldn't have let it get this far. At any point I could have talked to my parents and put my foot down and told them about us. I shouldn't have put any of us in this position, and I know that if we got found out your livelihood was put at risk, and I shouldn't have risked that either. I have been scared, and that is not acceptable. I will make amends for that, and I'm sorry it took me this long to come to that conclusion."
"You don't need to apologise," Laxus tried to say, but Freed cut him off with a glare. "Your parents aren't going to accept me."
"They will, because if they don't, I will abdicate and leave them without an heir," Freed said firmly, and Laxus looked at him with a frown. "I'm not joking, nor am I making a hollow threat. I know we spoke about that cabin in the mountains as a joke, but I could live like that happily so long as you're there. You are my priority, and I will make our relationship work no matter what is needed. Even if we have to sail to another continent to find our home, I will do that. In fact, I think I might already have a boat lined up to take us wherever we need to go," He shook his head a little. "That's beside the point. The point is, you are the man I love, and people will know. Tomorrow morning, I will do what I should have done the moment I fell for you. That is a promise."
"You're sure?" Laxus asked, but he was holding back a smile. "I don't want you giving up anything on a whim."
"You're not a whim, Laxus, and you will never be that to me," Freed promised. "I would give up anything for you, I know that now. My title, my crown, my home. It's incidental compared to you. I will prove that to you tomorrow."
"I know you will," Laxus whispered. "Fuck, I love you Freed."
"I love you too. More than you could imagine," Freed gasped the words, relief flooding him. "Now, speaking of things that are long overdue, I think it's finally time for you to grace my bed with your presence. I am somehow both exhausted and teeming with energy, and I have found your company the perfect remedy for that. There's something about the great Knight Dreyar cuddling me like a teddy bear that makes me feel safe and content," He grinned, then put on his regal voice. "So, get to it."
"Yes, your highness."

This idea for a oneshot just popped into my head along with a few others, so I decided to write it.
Well, I'm sick. I am not experiencing Covid symptoms, so I don't believe I have that. I feel like garbage and it hurts to get out of bed. I am coughing every five minutes and just took a NyQuil pill, HOWEVER, that will not stop me from posting on schedule. If God wants me to stop writing, then He's gonna need to try a hell of a lot harder.
On another note, I actually really like OrLu. There aren't a lot of fics about these two, which is pretty sad, in my opinion. I have read a few, and I really like the ship. This shouldn't be too much of a surprise. I can't say why exactly I really like OrLu, I just do. I guess I like it because you can do quite a lot with them in fanfics and not be restricted by canon. I hope that made sense because I don't know any other way to explain it.
I hope you enjoy!
Unexpected Partner (Orga x Lucy)
Lucy sat at the bar, sipping on her favorite strawberry milkshake. She glanced at the request board and then at her team, seeing that Natsu and Gray were arguing while Erza was eating her strawberry cake and getting increasingly annoyed by her two male teammates. Lucy needed to go on a job for rent money but didn't want to deal with her team's destructive nature. Every time they went on a job together, Natsu would burn stuff, Gray would freeze whatever isn't on fire, and Erza would break whatever was left. This would leave Lucy to apologize for the destruction and lose what amount of the reward money was required to fix the damages.
She loved her teammates, she really did, but she couldn't go on every job with them. She had rent to pay, after all. She sighed, finishing off her cold drink and walking over to the request board. She looked at the reward money first, singling out the ones that offered the amount of money she was looking for, and then looking at what exactly the job request was about. She was still analyzing the pieces of paper when an arm wrapped around her shoulders. She knew who the arm belonged to.
A familiar voice greeted her, "Hey, Luce! Looking for a job we can do?"
Lucy looked over at Natsu, answering, "Sorry, Natsu, but I'm going on a solo job."
The dragon slayer pulled away, giving his best friend a look of shock and hurt. "What? We're partners! We go on jobs together!"
Lucy sighed. At least Gray and Erza weren't joining Natsu in his complaining. For now, at least. She shook her head and responded, "no, Natsu. Just because we're on the same team doesn't mean I'm obligated to go on every job with you. I am allowed to go on solo jobs. I have decided to go on a solo job."
She ignored Natsu's pouting in favor of turning her attention back to the request board. She quickly found one that paid three-hundred-thousand jewel. Enough for three months of rent with more than enough money left over to buy food. She read the request. Whoever sent it wanted a mage to take out a small dark guild and rescue the woman that had been captured by them and was being held hostage. It sounded like a job she could handle. Taking it off of the board, she headed over to Mira to get it approved.
Once Lucy reached the bar, Natsu began whining again, "come on, Luce! Let me go with you! It's been a whole month since I've taken a job!"
Lucy didn't look at him. She watched as Mira approved the job request and walked out of the guild to pack as she replied simply, "Go on one with Gray and Erza, or with Lisanna. I'm sure she would love to go on one with you."
She didn't listen for a response as she walked out of the guild and headed for her apartment. She wasn't sure how long she would probably stay in the town the job was in, but it'd probably be a good idea to pack for two weeks. That was quite a bit of packing, maybe she'll have Virgo help her.
Lucy bought her train ticket and sat on a bench, waiting for the train to arrive. She was staring off into space when a loud voice called out to her, "Hey! Fairy!" Lucy broke out of her empty trance and turned her head to see a large man walking toward her, a welcoming smile on his face. He was tall and muscular, with green hair, shirtlessness, and warpaint-like markings on his upper body and face giving him a wild look. She wracked her brain for a name to put to him. She watched him approach her and come to a stop next to her, looking down at her with a smile.
She stared up at him in confusion before recognition hit her. She stood up and smiled up at him. "Hello, Orga. It's been a while."
Orga nodded, saying, "yeah, Fairy. About a year, I think."
Lucy gave him a look of annoyance. "Fairy Tail and Sabertooth are friends now. Could you please stop calling me 'Fairy'?"
Orga gave a humorous laugh before answering, "sorry. Habit, I guess. Hey, Lucy."
The celestial wizard went back to smiling back, responding, "that's better." She then asked, "are you on your way to a job too?"
Orga nodded. "I just finished my first job here in Magnolia. I'm heading to my second one."
Lucy raised an eyebrow, asking, "you took two jobs? And you took a job here?"
Orga nodded. "My first job was pretty easy. Just helping to move a bunch of heavy stuff for some reason that wasn't explained. Nothing big. I decided to take two so I wouldn't be too bored. My second job is in Gardenia Town."
Lucy gave him a look of disbelief. When the Sabertooth mage raised a confused eyebrow. Lucy noticed his confusion by saying, "my job is in Gardenia Town."
Orga's facial expression changed into one of mirrored disbelief. He held out his hand, silently asking for her job request. Lucy reached into the pouch on her hip, pulling out a folded piece of paper. She unfolded it and handed it to him, allowing him to read it over and compare it to his own job request. After reading the job request from the Fairy Tail request board and comparing it to his, Orga looked down at the blonde mage, his eyes wide with shock and slight confusion. He spoke, his voice mirroring the feelings his face and eyes were displaying, "we have the same job request."
Lucy gaped at him. "What?" She took back her job request, also snatching the large man's request to compare them herself. She silently gasped. They were the same, right down to the reward. She looked back up at Orga, saying with a small shrug of her shoulders, "I guess the requestor is desperate."
Orga nodded, adding, "should we team up?"
Lucy looked back at the job requests in her hands before handing the one from Sabertooth back to the god slayer. She answered simply, "I guess we should. It'll make this job easier and faster." Orga nodded, sitting down next to Lucy after she sat back down. The newly partnered mages sat in silence for the train to arrive.
Lucy and Orga stepped off the train, still engaged in a fit of laughter. The train ride had lasted five hours, and the two mages managed to pass the time with conversation about their individual guilds, eventually devolving into talking about their friends, whom they typically team up with. Lucy wiped a stray tear away while asking, "why did you decide to take solo jobs?" Her cheeks were beginning to hurt from smiling so widely, but she ignored it.
Orga looked down at her as they walked to the requestor's house, a just as big smile on his own face, and answered, "Sting is the guild master, so he can't take jobs. Rogue has been pissy lately for some reason, so I'm not going on a job with him because I don't want to be Shadow Dragon's Slashed again. Rufus never was fond of partnering on jobs unless you bribed him. Yukino and Minerva have been going on jobs together a lot lately, saying that they liked the 'girl time' they got to have while on jobs. If you ask me, though, I'd say that those two are using jobs as excuses to go on dates without anybody knowing, even though the entire guild suspects that they are together."
Lucy let out a gasp. "Yukino and Minerva? I wouldn't have guessed." She then smiled and added, "I'm happy for them. Mira is going to flip out when I tell her."
Orga laughed, muttering an "oh no" under his breath, before asking the smaller mage, "what about you?" He placed a large arm around her shoulders, hoping that she wouldn't find it weird.
Lucy felt warmth creep onto her cheeks at the small contact. She turned her head to hide the blush from him, looking instead at the quaint houses they passed. She answered, "I wanted a break from my team's destructiveness."
Orga chuckled before he responded with an amused tone, "I don't blame you. I heard stories."
Lucy paled at the last part. She mumbled, just loud enough for the other mage to hear, "that doesn't sound good."
The pair fell back into a laughing fit, stopping and leaning against each other so they could avoid falling over in their uncontrollable laughter. After a few minutes, they had gained control of themselves and resumed their walking to their requestor's home.
They quickly arrived at their destination, walking up to the wooden door of the two-story house. Lucy raised her fist to knock lightly. They waited a few moments, but nobody had even yelled an answer, making Lucy wonder if she should knock again. Just as she was about to knock louder, the door creaked open, revealing a man that looked as though he was homeless. He peeked his head out of the opening that was just big enough for him to stick his head through. His green eyes were panicked and he looked as though he was expecting to be attacked at any moment. Lucy and Orga gave each other a mirroring confused look, a feeling of alarm mixed in.  Just what had this dark guild done?
Lucy turned her attention back to the man and spoke in a soft and slow tone, not wanting to scare him, "we are here to answer your request." She slowly reached into her small pouch, pulled out her job request, unfolded it carefully, and held it up for the man to see. She then asked, "is there anything you can tell us about this small dark guild? Where it is and how many members, perhaps?"
The man answered so quickly that Lucy and Orga almost didn't catch his words, "ten members! At the abandoned warehouse! Bring back my Crimson safely!" He then pulled back into the house and slammed the door closed.
Lucy and Orga looked at each other again in confusion as to what exactly happened to this man. Orga finally made a guess, " maybe this Crimson person is his wife."
Lucy shrugged. She and Orga walked away from the house. As they walked, Lucy realized that they had no idea where the abandoned warehouse they had to go to was. She stopped walking, Orga coming to a stop next to her. He questioned as he watched her take out a silver key, "what are you doing?"
Lucy ignored the question, instead, she pointed the blade of her silver key at the ground in front of her and called, "Open! Gate of the Compass: Pyxis!"
A flash of light caused Orga to shield his eyes. When he looked back, he saw a red and white bird thing with a compass on its head resting comfortably in Lucy's arms. He raised an eyebrow at it, lifting his fingers and poking the celestial spirit's beak. Lucy giggle at the act, causing Orga to look at her with wide eyes. He thought that she had a great laugh, but her giggle was just beautiful. He felt warmth on his cheeks, knowing that he was blushing. He looked away, hoping that the Fairy Tail mage hadn't noticed. He then asked, "Which one is that?" He hoped that his voice didn't give away how flustered he had become by simply hearing her giggle at such a small action.
Lucy smiled up at him sweetly. She sat the bird spirit on the ground and spoke to it, "Pyxis, could you point us in the direction of an abandoned warehouse?"
The bird squawked happily before the compass on its head began spinning. It quickly came to a stop and the spirit pointed towards a forest that sat nearby. Lucy mumbled, "of course, it's in the forest."
She picked up Pyxis and began walking in the direction it was pointing in, Orga followed, muttering, "a spirit that can give you directions. Yukino should find one."
The two mages eventually came to a warehouse. Lucy dismissed Pyxis and crouched beside Orga behind some bushes and trees. They watched as a couple of dark mages conversed right in front of the entrance of the four-story warehouse. The blonde mage turned to her partner and whispered her plan, "I'll go find the woman while you and a couple of you spirits fight the dark mages."
Orga nodded, adding, "don't waste your magic. I can take them all on by myself."
Lucy shook her head, reaching into her pouch to take out two keys. "I don't doubt your fighting ability, but I think it would be better if a couple of my spirits help you, just in case."
Orga tried to say no but found that he couldn't. He sighed and nodded his head in acceptance of the plan. Lucy smiled. She raised a hand, all five fingers up. She slowly put each one down as she readied her two golden keys in her other hand. Orga shifted, prepared to jump out and start blasting dark mages with his lightning.
Once Lucy put down her last finger, the pair bolted out of their hiding spot. The celestial wizard raised her two keys and shouted, "Open! Gates of the Maiden and Golden Bull: Virgo and Taurus!" The pair of Zodiac spirits appeared and immediately began attacking the dark mages that ran out of the warehouse, being quickly joined by Orga.
Lucy managed to sneak past the fighting mages, slipping into the warehouse and beginning her search for Crimson. After what seemed to be forever, her searching led her to a single jail cell on the top floor of the broken-down building. She ran to the cell, finding that a woman, appearing to be only a few years older than herself, was huddled in the back of the cell, her head buried in her knees. Lucy spoke softly and slowly to the woman, just as she did to the job requestor, "hey, are you Crimson?"
The woman lifted her head and looked at the mage, allowing Lucy to see that she had a head full of red hair, similar to Erza's hair color. Lucy guessed that her red was why this woman was called Crimson. The woman nodded her head in response to Lucy's question.
The blonde mage spoke again, "I'm going to get you out, okay?"
Crimson nodded again. Lucy looked at the lock on the cell's door. She knew that she couldn't break it, so she reached into her pouch and pulled out Cancer's key. She raised it as she summoned the spirit, "Open! Gate of the Giant Crab: Cancer!"
The celestial spirit appeared beside her, asking as he snipped his scissors a few times, "what do you need, baby?"
Lucy pointed at the lock. "I need you to unlock this cell!"
Cancer nodded, unlocking the cell with a pair of his scissors. Lucy thanked him before he returned to the Celestial Spirit World. Lucy flung the cell door open and rushed inside, helping Crimson to her feet and assisting her in walking.
The pair reached the entrance of the warehouse after a slow descent down several flights of stairs. They stepped out to find Orga standing among the defeated dark mages, Virgo and Taurus having already returned to their world.
Orga smiled, exclaiming, "Hey, Lucy! You found her, I see!"
Lucy nodded. "Come pick her up. We'll take her back and then come and get the dark mages." Orga nodded, walking over to the two women and picking up the red-haired woman bridal style. They walked back to the town, intending to also find a doctor for her.
Lucy and Orga sat on the train, on their way back to the respective towns that they lived in. They had returned Crimson to their job requestor, who turned out to be her husband. The couple had a tearful reunion and the man happily gave the two mages their reward money. Lucy and Orga quickly agreed to split the reward money, one-hundred-fifty-thousand jewel per mage. They then turned the dark mages over to the Rune Knights that quickly arrived after being contacted by the two mages via a communication lacrima.
The pair now sat in comfortable silence. Lucy looked up at the large man, seeing that he was staring out of the window. She opened her mouth to say something, but quickly closed it. She wanted to ask Orga if he wanted to hang out sometime, but didn't know how to ask, or even if he was interested in her the way she was interested in him.
The train then came to a stop and the conductor's voice sounded, announcing that they had arrived at Magnolia. Lucy looked back at Orga again, seeing that he was smiling at her. She returned the smile and stood up. She waved goodbye and began walking out of the compartment when she was stopped by a hand gripping her wrist. She looked back to see Orga was still smiling at her, a light blush painted across his cheeks. Lucy waited for him to say something, silently hoping that he would say what she wanted to say to him.
The man then said just loud enough for Lucy to hear, "um...would you like to hang out sometime?"
Lucy's smile widened. She nodded happily. Orga squeezed her hand before letting go and watching her walk off of the train. He leaned back with a sigh, knowing that would need to track down Yukino and question her about what he should do now that he asked Lucy out.

it was the grand magic games, your teammates were relaxing back at the hotel while you decided to explore the city. it probably would have been a good idea to get some rest but after being in suspended stasis for seven years a little exploring couldn't hurt.
you felt like a tourist as you bounced from store to store, eventually, you racked up so many bags you had to use your magic so you would easily be able to transport them with you. as you walked through the city you stumbled across a bar “a drink couldn’t hurt” you thought to yourself as you walked into the bar.
within moments of sitting down at the bar counter a man with green hair sparked a conversation with you “mind if i buy y’a a drink?” he was certainly easy on the eyes, and you found yourself subtly checking him out and the magic power you were getting from him was incredible.
you nodded “of course.”
he asked what you preferred and ordered the drink for you “my name is orga and you are…?” he smiled at you it was clear he was asking for your name and his interest was so obvious you couldn’t help but crack a smile “y/n. so orga what brings you here?”
the fact that you didn’t know him was puzzling to you, a seven-year gap can leave anyone out of the loop but for you, it left you unaware of a vital piece of information, while this meeting was left unaware to you the thought of getting to know someone without his name attached to a powerful guild excited him, his interest in you peaked.
he took a sip of his drink and turned his whole focus to you “just passing through. what about you?”
“im just taking a look for now before i meet up with my guildmates at or hotel.”
he finishes his drink “i could show you around if you’d like, i’ve been here plenty of times.”
you smiled at him “really? that would be amazing!”
he lead you around the city like he knew it like the back of his hand, you were shocked at how well he knew the city if you didn’t know any better you could mistake him for a local. while walking through he gently took your hand in his, his hand felt warm and comforting.
“do you hold hands with everyone you give a tour to?” you teased him with a small grin slightly squeezing his hand.
he smirked at you, and you took notice of his strong presence once more “only the ones i’m into. why do you ask?”
you hummed “you’re quite the flirt aren’t you?”
he laughed and brought your hand close to his lips “i’ve only just started gorgeous” he kissed the back of your hand and looked you in the eyes, his irises were white as snow something about them lured you in, you wanted to know more about the man behind your piercing eyes.
“you’re certainly something orga.”
you shook the thought out of your head as it was time for fairy tail team b to make their entrance, you walked out with the rest of your teammates and took in the shocked expressions of your guildmates.
as your bickering dies down it was time for the returning champions sabertooth to make their appearance. you watched as the champs walked out you caught a glimpse of the familiar green hair and your jaw hit the floor.
“orga??”
he lazily smirked at you “nice to see y’a too gorgeous.”

@ironshadcw asked: you didn't have to do that for me, but you did. / Orga
Tumblr media
"I know that, Ravyn, but as a fellow Saboertooth member I'm not going to stand by and allow people to talk badly about you."
Tumblr media
Did Orga know her story? No, he didn't. Did he wish to learn why sometimes people talked a lot of trash about her? Of course he did, the god slayer was one of the members that would go out of his way to help anyone in the guild. Should they need it. While Ravyn was one of very few women in the guild that didn't take away from her worth as a member. In fact, he'd never cared that she was a woman. She was still a strong, capable wizard.
"Do they do that often? I'm asking because of how our guild master reacted."
