Bills win! 27-21 against the Patriots!
And now, with the presumed Dolphins loss against the Ravens (the score is 56-19 Ravens as I type this and there's 2:28 left in the 4th quarter), the title of AFC East Champs comes down to week 18. Since Buffalo won against Miami in week 4, if they win in week 18 Buffalo and Miami would have the same record of 11-6 and Buffalo would hold the tiebreaker.
Also...Pittsburg, Cinci...be a lamb and lose today? If you two lose, Buffalo's in the playoffs full stop.

Amazing Facts I’ve Learned from the Gravity Falls DVD Bonus Features
More content to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Gravity Falls! As I watched the bonus content on Shout! Factory’s complete series release, I’ve learned many hilarious things about this show. Here are some of my favorite facts:
The scavenger hunt wasn’t sanctioned by Disney. Alex Hirsch did the whole thing with the staff of the show and zero official approval.
In “Golf War”, Mabel was originally supposed to abduct one of the golf balls and stick it into her pocket.
In “Scary-oke”, the truck originally had a “honk if you love the Patriot Act” bumper sticker.
Many of the incidental character names are based on Ariel Hirsch’s childhood crushes.
As he hid the first clue of the scavenger hunt, (in Saint Petersburg, Russia) Alex Hirsch was afraid of being mistaken for a spy.
Very cursed information: Bill was originally going to be green. He is, after all, based on the eye at the top of the pyramid on the back of the dollar bill.
In “Not What He Seems”, Mabel and Dipper were originally going to plot in a classroom instead of the back of a cop car.
Something I feel we really missed out on: “A Tale of Two Stans” was originally going to open with hilarious recap commentary from Soos.
On a cursed note: As per the original storyboards for “A Tale of Two Stans”, Stanford was originally supposed to have a beard. I dislike this.
When creating the character designs, the artists gave every character at least one distinguishing article of clothing. Why? So fans could easily cosplay them. Maybe Im a little sappy, but I think that’s amazing!
(As an aside, I somehow failed to realized that Agent Powers is voiced by Nick Offerman. This explains why he sounds so familiar, but I still wonder how it took me a decade and a behind-the-scenes interview to realize that.)
The interviews and behind-the-scenes content also added plenty of details that I’d missed when I watched the show! One of my favorites was that the pyramid in the “secret” Mystery Shack room is there to let people know that the room used to be Stanford’s.
I’m going to wrap this up by pointing out that I’m still annoyed at Disney for removing the “fists for nipples” joke in “Dipper vs Manliness”. That was one of the funniest gags of the entire show.

Happy Birthday Scottish actor Ewen Bremner, born January 23rd 1972 in Edinburgh.
Bremner has worked with many of the most respected directors in world cinema, including Danny Boyle, Mike Leigh, Ridley Scott, Joon-Ho Bong, Werner Herzog and Woody Allen. Hen has established himself by creating unique characters in critically acclaimed films, as well as going toe to toe with many of Hollywood's biggest stars.
Ewen had worked widely in theatre, television, and film for years before being cast in his breakout role in Trainspotting, by Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle. He was the first to be cast in the role of Mark Renton in Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre production but lost out to Ewan McGregor in the film version, instead he was handed the role of Spud Murphy and earned screen immortality with his character's infamous "speed fuelled" job interview scene.
Prior to Trainspotting, Bremner gave a striking performance in Mike Leigh's Naked, fellow Scot Susan Vidler played his girlfriend Maggie in this excellent film.
In 1999, Bremner received critical acclaim for his portrayal of a schizophrenic man living with his dysfunctional family in Harmony Korine's Julien, Donkey-Boy. Filmed strictly in accordance with the ultra-realist tenants of Lars Von Trier's Dogma 95 movement and starring opposite Werner Herzog, Bremner played Julien its eponymous hero, requiring him to assume an American accent. He then worked with director Michael Bay in his high-profile 2001 war film Pearl Harbor, proving his versatility once again by portraying the role of a wholeheartedly patriotic American soldier fighting in WWII. The following year, he stepped back into fatigues for a supporting role in Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down, while rounding out the next several years with roles in high-profile Hollywood releases such as The Rundown, Disney's Around the World in 80 Days), AVP: Alien vs. Predator, Woody Allen's Match Point, the comedy Death at a Funeral directed by Frank Oz, and Fool's Gold starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson.
This past few of years proved to be a busy when Bremner was invited to join the DC Universe in the Zack Snyder-produced feature Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins, co-starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. Ewen also reprised his unforgettable role as Spud in the highly-anticipated sequel to Danny Boyle's cult classic, T2: Trainspotting
Bremner appeared in the TNT Drama Series Will with Shekhar Kapur. The series told the story of the lost years of young William Shakespeare after his arrival to London in 1589 but only lasted one season. Other notable film credits include Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Perfect Sense starring again alongside Ewan McGregor, Great Expectations, Jack the Giant Slayer, and Snowpiercer starring alongside Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton. Further credits include Exodus: Gods and Kings, Wide Open Spaces, Mojo, Mediator, Faintheart, Hallam Foe, Sixteen Years of Alcohol, and Snatch.
In television, Ewen has worked on many acclaimed productions including David Hare's Worriker trilogy starring Bill Nighy for BBC, Jimmy McGovern's Moving On and also his Australian mini-series Banished, Strike Back for Sky TV, Dominic Savage's Dive, the Dylan Thomas biopic, A Poet In New York and the adaptation of Day of the Triffids for the BBC. Other noteworthy series appearances include portraying legendary surrealist Salvador Dali in the U.K. television drama Surrealissimo: The Trial of Salvador Dali, and a guest spot on the successful NBC series, My Name is Earl, not to forget an early appearance in Taggart way back in 1990.
Latley Ewen has been one of a number of Scottish actors who are backing a campaign to reopen the Film House cinema in Edinburgh, he has a couple of projects on the go just now, Bluefish, which takes us around the globe to tell stories of people trying to break out of their bubbles of isolation, which I take to mean the Covid pandemic, he also has a film on the go called Roo, but there is nothing to report on that just now.

"Loyalty towards a Country or a Nation...is a covenant..."
Record Group 21: Records of District Courts of the United StatesSeries: Criminal Case FilesFile Unit: United States of America vs. Kiyoshi Okamoto, et. al.
Loyalty towards a Country or a Nation is a m[a]tter of the sentiment. It is nurtured from a knowledge of justice received. It is a covenant of faith between the party of the People on the one hand and the Party of the Government on the other. Under this understanding, the People maintain the inviolability of our Instruments of Government. For this service, the Government assume the responsibilities of justice, freedom, liberty and security to It's Inhabitants. Under such an interpretation, the President terminated the agreement when he caused to be evacuated 112,000 People without due process of law. In so doing, he violated the very fundamentals of our democratic form of government. He disregarded the guarantees of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. He caused us into Citizens without a Country. By these acts, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights become of doubtful value as Instruments guaranteeing Life, Liberty, Justice, Freedom and Security. With these conditions, where does our Country need us the most--on the home front where justice, freedom, democracy and liberty are slapped on the face or, on foreign battlefields to uphold dubious ideals and Principles? We believe a correct understanding must be had at this time between true patriotism and loyalty on the one hand and from regimented concept of misguided interpretations on the other. We believe the first duty of every true and loyal Citizen is the protection of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The cornerstone of these Instruments of our Government are Justice, Liberty, Security, Freedom, and the protection of Humane Rights. These are flagrantly violated in the various procedures of our evacuation, deportation and detention. We believe the issue forced upon us is sufficently vital as to warrant a decided attitude...not only for our benefit but, as a safeguard to our hitherto free and democratic form of government. It is vital as an issue of National defense if Democracy is to exist. [STRIKETHROUGH] If we are loyal and patriotic Citizens, we must keep an eagle eye on ten cent leaders who are unable to see beyond the 12-16-19 dollars paid them by the W. R. A.[END STRIKETHROUGH] Thus, to be drafted or not to be drafted or, to be loyal or not to be loyal as Citizens with suspended Rights are not the questions at issue. To us, the fundamentals of Democracy is at stake. In the preservation of the ideals and principles of freedom, justice and democratic practices as guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights within our own home front lie any hope to validate and justify any utterances of freedoms and democracies. We must rectify the breaches made upon the guarantees of justice, freedom and democratic practices by the Roosevelt Administration. THEREBY, AS TRUE AND LOYAL CITIZENS OF THIS NATION, WE ASK A FIRST CLARIFICATION OF OUR STATUS AND RIGHTS AS FORCED[full transcription at link]

29. Lawrence comes out in For Better or for Worse (April 10th)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lawrence, Michael's friend in the strip came out of the closet in the spring of 1993. Of course, people got mad and demanded the strip be pulled from their local papers:
In the next few weeks, Lawrence, who is 17, will also reveal his sexual orientation to his mother and stepfather. Reader beware; the next two sentences give away plot details. His mother will insist Lawrence is mistaken, and his stepfather will throw Lawrence out of the house. He will spend a lonely night in a doughnut shop until Mike locates him and brings him home for a reconciliation with his famiy.
The plot line has already proved too rich for some tastes. Universal Press Syndicate editorial director Lee Salem says about 20 of some 1,400 newspapers subscribing to “For Better or For Worse” have asked for backup material that can be substituted for the Lawrence strips, and eight have canceled the comic outright.
Lynn Johnston, the Canadian cartoonist who writes and draws the 14-year-old strip, says she knew she was entering a sensitive area, but she’s a little surprised by the scope of the negative reaction.
“What I wrote was kind; it was caring,” she says. “It explored both sides of the issue.”
[...]
Thomas Mitchell did. He’s the editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, one of the newspapers pulling the Lawrence panels in favor of backup material.
“We had a pretty little heated argument among ourselves,” he says.
Mitchell finally decided parents shouldn’t abruptly find themselves explaining the material to their children over the morning Rice Krispies.
“It’s the comics page, man. Give me a break,” he says. “It’s an interesting topic. Teenage homosexuality: How do you handle it; how do you talk about it?”
Mitchell says he wouldn’t object to a feature story on the subject, possibly illustrated by strips from “For Better or For Worse.”
Bob Hansen of Enfield probably wishes he was getting Mitchell’s newspaper. Hansen is a Courant subscriber who called the paper Monday to complain about the tack Johnston’s strip had taken.
“I’m very upset about it,” he says. “Comics, in the first place, comics are for fun.”
Hansen says he doesn’t object to homosexuals, but he objects to having homsexuality pushed at people who aren’t interested in hearing about it. In particular, he disliked Lawrence’s remark, in Monday’s episode, insisting he isn’t confused about his orientation: “Everybody else is confused.” 2
Tumblr media
For the record, I obsessed over For Better or for Worse almost as much as I did Funky Winkerbean. Good to know Lawrence had a good ending as the strip wound to the end in the Summer of 2008.

31. Addy becomes an American Girl
There was some controversy among the company whether Addy would be "too real" for kids:
Indeed, the story of Addy may be too heavy for the frail shoulders of a doll, and it clearly represents a dramatic shift in the tone of these children's books. While the other dolls face such traumas as wild bears, sailing during a storm or even choosing between loyalty to the crown of England or the patriots of the new Colonies, none can really compare with watching your brother being whipped by a cruel overseer because he "done run off." In "Meet Addy," the first of her series, she escapes from slavery with her mother, after they are forcibly separated from the rest of the family.
Pittsburgh novelist Connie Porter, who was hired to write the Addy books, is aware of the criticism. "Some people don't want to see a character in slavery -- that's ridiculous," she said. "You can run the risk of being so politically correct that you can lose whole periods of history. Children are more ready to talk about these things than some adults are."
Porter, who met twice with the advisory board to discuss story content and the use of dialect, said that she has not trivialized slavery in any way. If anything, she has made it more real to a modern child than it might have been before, she said. "I tried to show how a black child would be treated during the day at the age of 9," she said. "That she had a job like a grown person. Addy works all day worming tobacco plants. She also serves occasionally for the master, who treats her with indifference. At one point they treat her badly. She's a piece of property." 4

32. Krusty gets canceled, but marge doesn’t say anything. (May 13th)
Y'all Ever notice that Marge has no lines in the classic Simpsons episode "Krusty Gets Canceled"? She's there, but no lines. According to the DVD commentaries, Al Jean said that Julie Kavner felt uncomfortable being in an episode with so many celebrity guests, describing it as "tasteless". I guess she changed her mind through the years.
Tumblr media
33. Lorena Bobbit copycats
In a four-month period, at least three men besides John Bobbitt had their genitals trashed by angry women. In April, a 29-year-old woman in Milwaukee partially severed her boyfriend's penis after he announced that he wanted to break up, reported the Milwaukee Journal. In Waynesville, N.C., in July, Cynthia Mason Gillett, 28, was charged with setting her husband's genitals on fire while he slept after an argument, reported the Charlotte Observer. In April, Jose Dogelio, 31, was shot in the penis by a woman he was "flashing" on a street in Dasmarinas, Philippines, according to the Manila newspaper, People's Journal. 5
Cynthia was put on probation in January of 1994 because her husband refused to testify against her. She doused his genitals in nail polish and caught them on fire! 6 I could not find Jose's condition.
When I was a kid and I'd see pieces about Lorena and John Bobbit on the news, I pictured Lorena cutting John's penis off with scissors.

Bills lost, 24-18 against the Bengals.
Are we just cursed to continually lose to this team? Ten months ago was the Monday Night Game where Damar Hamlin almost died and the game got canceled as a result with the score being 7-3, Bengals leading. Not long after that was the AFC Divisional game where the Bengals beat us at home 20-10. Now this.
And if that's not bad enough, a win would have given the Bills back the AFC East with the Dolphins loss today!

scatch what i said on that last post. idk her. im CHILLINGGGGG!!!
MarMon today: yes I celebrated. you gotta. duh. Patriot's Day-- a Mass thing!? Hilarious.
We went to the race and yelled and screamed and cheered on at various points. Walked a bunch. Got sunburnt in that shallow way, but my nose is pink. It was pretty emotional! So proud of everyone. Kept thinking that this is kind of one of the best things humanity can do. Anyway-- B)
Got sambas, lmfao?! Trying to look like a boy. Followed by some really good pasta. and then trying to look like a girl. i went to a frat! for the first time! i got champagne on my sambas. christened. the person who clocked me as queer at the party said "christened" after i had minutes prior. yeah. a good thing
- - i know the gender thing of it is ridiculous but for some reason my soft complicated body craves that sexual weirdness between men and women and particularly these young men and women in that..disgusting atmosphere. a disgusting atmosphere. really hungry for that generalization.. it's true. im really attracted to men
other than that^ being tough,
i went DANCINGGG!!!!!1!1!11!!11!!
and I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!!111!1
What a GREAT night!!! i can't put into words how amazing i feel even though that is why i came here...shucks. has the moment past? did i spend too much time on the queue?
My foot is sore as I type this. I came home so inspired and read up on country swing vs other kinds (I knew jazz swing was the thing, and swing dancin aint line dancin !) then i listened to a lot of good music:
Slow Dancing - Aly & AJ * total classic for me lmao. damn they have the best spotify top 5
Let's Get Married - Bill Elliot Swing Orchestra * when i didn't yet understand that i had to look up **country** swing music. now i know ;) god i cant wait to go again
-- what is it?! i think its that i really love to dance, to move my body, to try and get it right, to improve? to be good? to have fun in a choreographed way. to conform. the do the correct thing. idk
here's what i think its really about: i think i like smootheness. and i like the click of a phenomenon you can't pull a word for. and short counts. and intention. and shape. mostly shape. beat, sure, too. i like beat. i like rising to it, and not tiring. i dont know how i get so obsessed. i need to go back. that was exactly what ive been looking for for months, and what i thought i found but only got in part in the club, which i go to for the dancing, the loud music, the blindingness. but i dont contribute there. my ears are filled but the sound can only vibrate me a little. im not, swung, literally. and i cant provide energy to the space like you can witcha boots awn. so yeah, i think thats really it. dancing. i fucking love dancing. ive always fucking loved dancing. for real! really! i never got that good, yeah. but i fucking loved it thats for sure. i always wanted someone to actually teach me shit. they didnt do that enough in theatre. maybe they did. maybe i just wasnt that talented. not now though. dead. fucking. ass. just input my entire work calendar that i have access to because this shits getting real my life is mine and theres fan fucking tastic things to be doing with it.
alright...i could continue...i'll pick up the rest in my dairy ;* not gonna get too personal, phew. uhm. eh hem.
That Don't Impress Me Much - Shania Twain
Tequila - Dan + Shay
End of Beginning - Djo * lmao i got on this because i saw some interview w him online as im jamminggugghh i got sucked in. then all this happened:
Change - Djo * so much better than the one blowin up btw
Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) - Eurythmics, etc * i looked up more songs like Change :| hahaha. then all this happened:
Lifetime - Yves Tumor
Pop Song - Perfume Genius
Here Comes the Rain Again - Eurythmics, etc
Here Comes Your Man - Pixies
Eye in the Wall - Perfume Genius
Boys - Amen Dunes * at this point my original mission is fucked. the intention's gone. i'm so far from where i started: country lovin
at the same time the joint i rolled before we went out and shared on the way home is getting its way through my system for sure. its approaching 2am, woah! full day tomorrow but not nearly as inspired at this one. this one's literally how you're supposed to live . well maybe beer not getting stolen at the bar mmmm. mhm. yeah i'll tack that on as well.
i didnt, dont, want to let go of tonight skrrreorgihveouhv!!!! uuuummm! yeah i should keep thinking about it. : ) : ) hehehehehe
Man! I Feel Like a Woman! - Shania Twain
<3 , so much ;)

The presidential field is basically set, but before the Trump vs. Biden rematch begins in earnest, there are still a bunch of highly contentious primaries for the House and Senate left to be decided. On the Democratic side, none will draw more attention and money than the campaign to knock the Squad—the famed young, progressive legislators of color—out of Congress. And now, thanks to the most recent round of fundraising reports filed to the Federal Election Commission, we know exactly who’s funding that campaign.
Surprise! It’s Republican billionaires and megadonors.
Let’s back up: During the 2022 midterms, one of the super PACs affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee lobbying group—called the United Democracy Project—spent more than any other outside group during the Democratic primaries. Yes, it was spending on Democrats. But it boosted only conservative Democrats who were in races against progressive legislators, in part because progressives are, as a whole, willing to criticize Israel, and sometimes even question unconditional military aid to Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.
AIPAC’s most successful sally in 2022 was kicking Andy Levin—not only one of the most prominent Jewish members of the House, but also a former synagogue president—out of his House seat in Michigan, in favor of a more conservative, non-Jewish representative in Haley Stevens. (Levin had dared to indicate support for a two-state solution, introducing a bill that would have prevented U.S. aid from being used to fund Israeli settlements in the West Bank and that recognized East Jerusalem as “occupied territory,” among other provisions.)

And all of that was before Israel’s devastating war in Gaza began.
Now, AIPAC has made it a clear goal to defeat every progressive Democrat it can in 2024. At the end of January, Federal Election Commission filings revealed that the United Democracy Project super PAC already had $40 million on hand by the end of 2023, nearly double the $26 million it spent on the 2022 midterms. Those numbers will likely skyrocket further.
Massive though it is, the dollar figure is actually less notable than who donated it. Of the top 10 biggest donors to the Democrats-only super PAC during the past six months, boosters of Donald Trump abound. GOP megadonor Bernie Marcus, former CEO of the Home Depot, kicked in $1 million. An LLC affiliated with Bob Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots (who gave $1 million to Trump’s inauguration) chipped in $500,000. Paul Singer, another billionaire financier—and Nikki Haley megadonor, and Rudy Giuliani fundraiser—also kicked in $1 million. (Singer is perhaps best known as the luxury vacation sponsor of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito.)

More recently Ewen has been in the, in my opinion, very funny series Our Flag Means Death, the film Canyon Del Muerto about the worlds first female archaeologist and the highly rated Freedom's Path, set in the US Civil War, it is due out soon.

01/03/2023 NFL UPDATES
My predictions for last week’s games: (10-5) and forgot to pick for the Bills/Bengals game. This is very Ironic because this game was suspended because there was a very sad event that happened during the game and it was postponed. Bills Safety Damar Hamlin was hit really hard in the chest causing him to go into cardiac arrest. I have never seen anything like this and I was watching it live on TV. They were giving him CPR on the field while he was down for about 10 minutes. They finally got him off the field and to the hospital where his vitals are back to normal but he is still very much in critical condition. The entire NFL community and more have him and his family in our prayers.
Last weeks big games that I brought up did NOT disappoint. The 49ers vs Raiders game was a nail bitter and closer than I anticipated but the 49ers came out on top. So now the Raiders have been fully eliminated from the Playoffs but the 49ers now have a chance to get the #1 seed if they win this week and the Eagles lose. The Packers and Vikings was very one sided, the Packers ran all over the Vikings and came out victorious so they now have a chance to get into the playoffs.
Right now for the AFC the teams that are in the hunt and have a chance of playoffs if they win are the (Dolphins, Steelers & Titans)
For the NFC on the other hand there are only 2 teams in the hunt the (Lions & Packers).
These teams have been eliminated now
Texans
Bears
Cardinals
Broncos
Colts
LA Rams
Falcons
Raiders
Panthers
Browns
Saints
Jets
Commanders
My Predictions this week:
(Chiefs vs Raiders) Chiefs

(Ravens vs Bengals) Bengals
(Browns vs Steelers) Browns
(Vikings vs Bears) Vikings
(Patriots vs Bills) Bills
