Marik is Vegan because:

Pretty much all meat, but especially raw meat, reminds him of the scarification ritual and also what eventually happened to his father, so he eats it never out of a trauma aversion.

He loves this beautiful, sun-filled world, and is staunchly protective of the environment (The Chariot of Ra runs on Biodiesel) and believes in fair compensation for labor (this is why he's so popular to work for despite his... unhinged goals, as a crime lord), so his objection to eggs and dairy has more to do with the environmentally unsuitable practices they're produced with and the way farm labor is exploited. He'll eat eggs and cheese if he knows the specific animals they came out of and the humans that care for them.

Hence, he LOVES honey- it's 1998 in the fic and he's not aware of some of the finickier aspects of beekeeping and environmentalism, but his understanding is that bees can leave whenever, and they make all the fruits and vegetables he eats, so bees and honey are GREAT.

Ah haha I forgot my tiny little tubes of zinc white gouache (opaque watercolor) were in my carry on which created an bit of an Easter Egg hunt for me and the security checker. But all good natured and no rush though as we collectively puzzled through the X-ray results -vs- physical reality of my rolly bag that has become a bit of an art supplies case.

Meanwhile, partner in crime has repeatedly remarked at how chill, calm, yet orderly the whole airport security process is here. And I just chuckle a bit, mostly inward. Indeed.

Next flight looks to be on time. Yet another notable time zone shift jumping the clock forward, banking those lost hours to recover when we rewind it all back.

Next couple of days will be a bit of mess but hopefully some relaxation in there. Planning on using flight time today for a little writing. Hopefully.

Then, can you imagine how terrible Aziraphale felt? How utterly lost? How he had been at war with himself, so happy, then confused, then desperate, then horrified at the world’s cruelty. He lost Crowley, as he tried to protect him, as he was angry and afraid and yearning? He watched the one thing he loved above all else — food, and wine, and music, and pleasantries — walk out of the door, into the great beyond where he might never be able to reach?
