At the end of the string
(it’s finally here I hope you guys are ready because I sure as hell am not also if you guys want to read it on Ao3 it goes by the same title you could probably find it by just searching up bowigi and then BOOM it’s there I do go by a different name so don’t be too surprised or of course you can just read it down below either way is fine I hope you guys enjoy 💜💚🧡$
Chapter 1
That’s not how pipes work
When Mario and Luigi took this big job for this sweet old lady who owned an apartment building needing someone to help with her pipes They thought nothing of it. Maybe if they paid attention to where the red string that was tied around their finger they would’ve noticed it was heading in the same direction as their current job. But they had a tendency of ignoring it or tuning out the string that led them to their soulmate while working, since They wanted to focus on the job.
They don’t mean to do it, it just…happens. it’s fairly common for people to forget about it since it’s always present. It’s like how you don’t notice you have your glasses on until you take them off or how you don’t know you are not wearing your glasses until you try pushing them into place. They only noticed it when they turned a corner to head downstairs both Mario and Luigi stopping in their tracks both seeming to notice their string at the same time.
There’s a moment of silence until Luigi grabs Mario’s shoulder and looks at him with an expression that is both filled with excitement and shock. “ Mario…my string… it's a following down these stairs” Luigi says in a quiet voice “veramente (really)? Well, you’re not gonna believe this but so is mine” Mario can’t help the smile that creeps up on his face as he responds to his brother completely overjoyed that his Brother's soulmates and his own are just a couple of steps away. “Do you think that they know each other?” Luigi says “ There’s only one way to find out“ Mario grabs his brother's hand Leading him down the stairs aesthetic to see who they’re destined to have in their lives. “Mario, hold on!!”
But Mario doesn’t listen to Luigi instead he continues to lead him down the stairs with a big grin. When Mario and Luigi burst through the doors both brothers look around to see if there’s anyone else but they don’t see anyone. Instead what they see is a chained link wall to the right of them it seems to be a large supply closet filled with various tools. there’s no one in there though the door had been open. The brothers looked back down at their string and noticed that it seems to go to the left and curve around a wall that split the room in half though there was no door, instead a large opening.
Noticing this Mario quickly pulls his Brother towards the entrance taking a quick turn causing luigi to stumble forward sliping out of his brothers grip. After regaining his balance he looks up to see that there are a bunch of electrical boxes and pipes. though the strangest thing Has to be the giant green pipe at the very end of it all and what was even weirder is how his string leads directly in it. “ what in the world?” Luigi says, voicing his confusion. “ I don’t know Weegee maybe they’re also plumbers and got curious about the weird green pipe so went in to check it out?”
That would make the most sense but something in Luigi’s gut just doesn’t feel right. like if that’s not what’s going on but if not that then what? There’s not much of a logical explanation for what’s in front of them. “ come on bro” Mario says reaching into the bag that Luigi carries that’s filled with their plumbing supplies and pulling out a headlight to put it on. “ we should check this out” Luigi merely nodded in agreement, putting on his own headlight. After all, if their soulmates are down there they should go find them. Luigi grabs onto the Toolbag strapped across his chest trying to settle down his nerves that for some reason won’t stop screaming.
“Come on weege let’s-a-go” with his brother calling him to hurry along Luigi follows suit catching up to his brother. But As he got closer both Mario and Luigi noticed an odd draft coming from the pipe. “That’s odd” Luigi steps closer to the pipe turning on his headlight “ there’s not supposed to be a drAAA-“ “LUIGI” as Luigi got closer to the pipe the draft suddenly became more of a vortex pulling him into the pipe Mario Lungeing Ford to grab his brother only to get sucked in as well.
***********************
Everything went dark. The only thing that Luigi could see was Mario’s headlight; he had no time to process what was going on because the setting around him quickly changed. He had to shut his eyes close from the blinding light that surrounded him. He very slowly and carefully opened his eyes to reveal that he was somehow being magically transported across the ocean many islands in the distance.
Realizing how high up in the sky he is He starts to panic looking around to try and find something anything to grab onto but there’s nothing. Instead, he sees tiny holographic particles that seem to hint towards the direction that they’re heading…. wait a minute realizing that his brother probably went in after him he looks up to see Mario flailing around.
”MARIO!” Luigi screams in desperation hoping that his brother can hear him. it seems that he did since Mario almost immediately stopped flailing to then turn to look at him concern and fear covering his face. “LUIGI” Mario then pencil dives towards Luigi adrenaline completely spiked at the look on his brother‘s face wanting to get to him as quickly as possible. Due to the speed, he ends up crashing into Luigi but that doesn’t matter because Mario is still able to grab a hold of him hugging him tightly.
“ARE U OK?” Mario asked Shifting to be able to look at his brother once over for any potential injuries.
“WHAT'S GOING ON?” Tears that were meant to fall down Luigi's face instead go up his temple to then fly into the air.
“I DON'T KNOW,” Mario says just as confused as Luigi he looks around hoping that he could find an answer somewhere though it only leads to more questions.
“ARE WE FALLING?!?” Luigi says his anxiety heightens by the minute the idea of falling is terrifying there’s no way that him or Mario would be able to survive a fall like this and that thought alone would have caused him to cry if he wasn’t already.
“I DON'T KNOW...I DON'T THINK SO? IF THAT WAS THE CASE WE WOULD BE HEADING STRAIGHT DOWN NOT CURVING AROUND” Mario says though there is no confidence in his voice whatsoever.
“HOW?!?! THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE THATS NOT HOW THE WORLD WORKS” Luigi says “WELL SO IS GOING THRU A PIPE AND ENDING UP SKY HIGH BUT HERE WE ARE”
“ MARIO HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO GET OUT OF THIS MESS?!?” Both of the brothers look around trying to see if an answer would somehow show itself to the brothers. When looking around Mario notices that the warp pipe seems to separate up ahead. There's a fork in the road but just before that, there seems to be another path that they can take.
Mario: I HAVE AN IDEA
Luigi: A GOOD IDEA OR A MARIO IDEA
Mario: HEY MY IDEAS ARE GOOD
Luigi: THAT DOESN'T ANSWER MY QUESTION
Mario: WE’LL JUST HAVE TO FIND OUT.
with that Mario shift himself to get into a better position of what he’s about to do while trying to keep the hold on his brother as best as he can once he does he kicks The holographic particles with his legs hoping that it is some kind of wall or barrier that he can use to push them in the direction they need to go.
Luigi doesn’t have time to process what Mario is doing; it's not until he feels a sudden push that he realizes Mario is taking them down a certain path that he only just noticed. Because of the push Mario and Luigi ended up picking up speed that the magical pipe seemed to have not been prepared for. Luigi guesses this because around the very end, there’s a weird feeling of Something trying to slow them down but because of the speed that they were at it ended up failing causing both brothers to land on the soft sand roughly.
Luigi lays there for a moment face planted on the ground not wanting to move. He hears shuffling to the side of him. he doesn’t look to see what it is or who it is though by the grumbling noises of pain he can safely assume that it’s just Mario trying to get up. His assumption is only solidified when he hears his brother call his name ”Luigi? Luigi!” Feeling Mario gently shaking his back he responds with merely a grunt. “are you ok?” Luigi decides to finally get up but before responding, he spits out some sand that made its way into his mouth.
“I’m OK fratello non preoccuparti I’m fine what about you?” Luigi says as he tries and get Mario to stop checking him for injuries. “I’m fine I mean probably a bit bruised but other than that I’m ok”
“Ya tell me about it that was a Mario idea,” Luigi says with a chuckle unable to believe what just happened “ hey I got us out of that weird trans..port…ation thing didn’t I,” Mario says giving Luigi a playful punch making sure to be careful on not swinging too harshly they did just crash landed after all.
Luigi just shakes his head completely used to Mario’s antics. His older brother was always fairly spontaneous and a go-with-the-flow kind of guy, unlike Luigi who likes to at least have a bit of a plan when it comes to things. Although he has no idea what to do in their current situation Mario on the other hand seems to at least know what he wants to do and that’s to wander into the unknown.
Luigi is completely flabbergasted by Mario suddenly walking towards the wilderness. “ Mario what are you doing,” he asks as he follows Mario to who knows where. “Well we can’t just stand around and do nothing let’s check this place out”
Luigi would love to argue with his brother but he kind of has a point they won’t know where they are unless they Look. so the brothers do exactly that, stepping into the wilderness.
********************
After some time of looking around trying to get familiar with their surroundings, Luigi realizes that nothing around them is familiar. Not even geographically speaking are the things around him any sort of similar. The mountains seemed to curve At where a sharp point should be and some of the mountains don’t even look like mountains. Luigi doesn’t know how to describe what he’s looking at without sounding insane It’s like an almost perfect cylinder for some greenery like bushes trees and vines sometimes it would look like several cylinders morphed in together. “ what is this place?” Mario said breaking Luigi‘s train of thought.
”I don’t know I can tell you what this isn't, this isn’t Boston” Luigi says as he holds onto himself. Mario turns to look at him, his face softens up at the sight of his younger brother. Luigi always had these small tellings on how he truly felt about something if you weren’t paying attention or didn’t know what to look for you probably wouldn’t notice. But that’s his twin baby brother so, of course, he’s going to notice.
Mario heads over to Luigi, rapping one arm over his shoulders causing Luigi to slouch down a bit. “fratello non preoccuparti we're going to be fine we’re the Mario brothers after all we can fix any problem” Luigi looked at his brother and chuckled out a sigh he couldn’t help but smile. Mario's optimism truly knew no bounds. Mario spoke up again, letting go of him before placing a playful tap on his shoulder. “ come on let’s think about our next move”
Luigi was just about to say how that sounds like a plan when he was interrupted by Mario’s stomach. Luigi couldn’t help but laugh feeling some of his stress from the day melt away. “ we could think and eat. Come on, I think I still have our sandwiches. '' Both brothers make their way to the nearby river sitting down. Luigi reaches into his tool bag a bit surprised that he still has it but he’s not one to complain when luck shines on him.
After removing their headlights and putting them back in the bag Luigi pulled out both Mario and his Italian subs as well as some soda cans that he packed along to drink with. After a while of just enjoying their food and drinks as well as the slight breeze that cools their skin, Mario speaks “OK now that our stomachs are full I don’t know about you but I can think again although part of me thinks that this is just some weird dream I’m gonna wake up any moment from”
“Hey, Mario” “ya bro?” As Mario turns to look at Luigi he gets flicked on the nose by the green brother “EEAOW MAMA MIA LUIGI WHAT WAS THAT-A FOR” “did that hurt?” “YA” “then it’s not a dream,” Luigi says with a small grin while Mario gives Luigi a stink eye while rubbing his nose ”how do you know that you’re not dreaming?” Mario asks
“Because I still have a scrape on my face from landing on it,” Luigi says as he touches this scrap on his face causing a small sting. it didn’t hurt that much but it hurt just enough to remind Luigi that everything that’s happening is real. So anytime he starts wandering again or hoping for this to be a dream he touches it, hoping that this time it won’t hurt and that the last couple of times where it stung was just a fluke.
But it wasn’t. Mario’s face cringes a bit at this feeling guilty about his brother's wound; he really should’ve given Luigi a heads up on what he was doing. “ sorry about that brother….wait” Mario jumps up looking around frantically for something Luigi cannot see and then his head snaps back at Luigi with a big grin. “ that means that our soulmates are here” Mario says pointing at the ground as it to solidify his words.
Luigi looked at Mario in shock, glancing at his hand that had a thin red string tied around his ring finger. He was surprised that he forgot why they went down that stupid pipe in the first place but after everything that happened it was understandable. “ do you really think that they’re here?” He asks his older brother “I’m sure they are I can feel it in my gut we just have to follow our strings and this time it will lead us to them”
Mario spoke in a determined tone leaving Luigi no room to second-guess his brother. Mario always did have a way to make things brighter besides there’s not much else they can do so with a sigh Luigi stands up with Mario A big grin forming on both of their faces. “Ok let’s-a do this” Luigi says Mario places two fists on his hips “ok which way does your string lead” Luigi answers Mario's question by pointing towards the mountains aka The opposite direction of where Mario’s string is going cousin Mario’s grin to drop and cringe as if he just saw someone get a punch.
“Ooof oh boy” Luigi looks at Mario in confusion. ”Oh boy what?” He says wondering what’s with the reaction. “It’s just that….mine’s leading that way,” Mario says pointing in the opposite Direction. “Oh boy,” Luigi says “ya…”. Both of them pause for a moment thinking about what should be their next move but before Mario can say anything or even suggest something Luigi packs up their bottle containers and the paper that the sandwiches were wrapped around in and starts heading towards the direction that Mario pointed at.
“…..where are you going?!?” Mario said confused about why his brother is heading away from The mountains and shocked by his brother’s sudden spunk. “ we’re not gonna be able to find your soulmate just standing around“ Luigi responded as if it was a no-brainer.” but what about your soulmate“
“ as long as I have my string I’m going to be able to find them”
“ yeah but you’ve been dreaming about meeting them since we were kids”
“ and so have you”
“ Luigi come on I feel terrible if I got to see my soulmate before you“
“ Listen fratello I’ll be fine if anything this will give me some time to calm down my nerves and to adjust to our new surroundings”
Mario tries to say something that will change Luigi‘s mind but after a minute of him just opening and closing his mouth again like a fish out of water he gives up with a sigh. he can’t think of anything besides if his brother isn’t ready to see his soulmate then he doesn’t wanna push him to do anything he’s not comfortable with and he’d be lying if he said that he wasn’t excited to meet his soulmate.
Mario adjusts his red cap and heads towards the direction his string is leading him. “ if you say so Luigi” Luigi smiles brightly at his brother, happy that he doesn’t have to continue arguing about this and also very excited for his brother and the fact that he gets to finally see his soulmate. they weren’t lying when they said that they’d been waiting for the day since they were kids and I mean who wouldn’t?
There’s someone out there who you are just meant to meet and share your life with Just at the other end Of this vibrant red string. But for him and his brother, he can’t help but feel that this means a little bit more to them than others, then again it is his and his brother's soulmate he’s thinking about so you can say he’s a little biased.
“LUIGI WHAT ARE U STANDING AROUND HURRY UP I GOT A SOULMATE TO MEET” Luigi shakes his head and chuckles at his brother's enthusiasm. “I HEAR YOU I HEAR YOU” with one hand holding onto the strap of his tool bag and the other on top of his head holding his hat in place he rushes over to Mario. Both brothers are completely overjoyed heading off into this new world looking forward to the adventure ahead.

I just finished reading The Ties that Bind, and I love it! I have a small suggestion, one that you could completely ignore if you would like. Will Fable, Legend’s Zelda, meet Sky? Or Sky and the rest of the chain? I feel like that would be fun. But this is just an idea that I had, I’m not pressuring you do to anything.
I'm sorry it took so long to get to your ask, Anon! I've been thinking about this for a while, and the truth is that, while I would LOVE to have Sky meet all of his daughters at some point, I don't know if it will happen in the main plot of the story itself.
Currently in the story, they are in Legend's Hyrule, so there is a good chance of it happening, I just don't know if it will.
Considering this came along with various fic requests, I did end up writing something where they 'meet' but.. I'm terribly sorry, it's entirely crack, and I took way too many liberties with it.
I hope it will do to hold you over until Fable can make an actual appearance in the story!
“So, we finally get to meet your sister?” Hyrule asked, following as Legend led their group down the halls of Hyrule castle.
“Yes.”
“Yes!” Wind pumped his fists. “The only Zelda we haven’t met! I wonder what she’s like?”
“Kickass.” Legend smirked, stopping before one of the opulent doors and turning to face them. “I’d watch yourselves.”
There were a lot of things the Chain was expecting to see when they walked through the doors, but Warriors wasn’t expecting to see a young woman who looked quite ridiculously like Legend, if not for the haircut, spinning around to see look at them before having a wide smile break over her face.
“Z?”
“Link!” And the princess was running, running forwards with feather soft, tinkling laughter into the arms of...Wild? “Oh, Link! I haven’t seen you in ages! Why, look at you! Growing your hair out I see.” Another giggle drifted into the air as the girl brushed a hand through the Champion’s messy bangs.
Wild flushed slightly, much to the shock of all present, but especially to Legend, who stared between the two with his mouth hanging open.
“Everyone’s missed you so terribly, especially after you disappeared so suddenly! The Master was absolutely furious.” Fable added with a nervous laugh, smacking Wild’s arm lightly. “Thank goodness I can tell him all is well and you didn’t get killed or something, we thought he’d oust Robin for good when we couldn’t find you!”
Wild winced, nodding slightly. “I’m on another quest, but maybe I can send a letter? The mail system is working pretty well, for some reason.”
“Not out of Hyrule unfortunately.” Fable pouted, seemingly taking no interest in noticing the rest of them for the moment, instead continuing to stand in Wild’s personal space, neither having quite let go from their unexpected and rather startling hug. “Without you, the Master has closed all contact with Hyrule; I don’t think he wanted anything else to happen, especially since Mother would have been furious if someone else had gone missing.”
“Wait,” Warriors turned to see Wind staring at the- couple? Duo? “Zelly?”
“Tune!” Fable squeaked, pulling away from Wild and darting over to hug the second smallest hero. “My goodness you’ve grown! Are the two of you on an adventure together then? Wonderful!” Ocean blue eyes trailed up to look at the rest of their gang and Fable brightened even more. “Why, all of you are here!”
“All of us?” He couldn’t keep confusion from his tone as he spoke, quirking a brow.
“Well, nearly all,” Fable frowned, setting Wind down to gently stroke her chin. “And here I hoped to see Young Link again.”
Warriors was going to lose his mind. “Young Link?” His eyes turned to Time, who smiled with a light flush, raising one hand in a nearly shy wave.
“Hey, Zelly.”
The princess gasped, hands flying up to cover her mouth as she stared upwards to meet Time’s gaze. “Young Link? My. Goodness! Look- Oh my! You’re all grown up, aren’t you? I declare, you get even more terrifying than half of the others!”
“Legend,” Sky was grinning as bright and warm as the princess, eyes sparkling in the same manner and erasing any doubt that he was the young woman’s ancestor. “You didn’t tell us your sister was The Princess Zelda!”
Legend stared up at his ancestor in disbelief before shaking off Sky’s hands and throwing up his own. “That’s it,” The vet spun on his heel and turned towards the door. “I’m gonna go bang my head against the wall for an hour, toodles.”
“Well,” Fable turned to Sky with a bright grin. “It is wonderful to see you again, Link. Good heavens, how on earth do all of you handle being ‘Link’, it was bad enough having you all switch out, but now you’re all together at once! How do you handle it?”
“I go by Sky,” The Skyloftian replied with a fond smile. “He’s Wild, Wind, and Time. We use our hero titles.”
“Oh! That is clever! Sheik and I both have different names, so I suppose had it easy, I’m surprised no one thought of that before, what with how you all switched out so often- oh!” And the princess was spinning around to look up at Twi. “We’ve missed you too of course, but I must ask, since you’re all apparently time-traveling or some nonsense, could you give a message to your Zelda for me? I haven’t seen her in ever so long, and I do miss being able to talk over things with her.”
“I’ll pass it along.”
“You too.” She turned to Time, brows furrowing lightly. “Sheif is so terrible about writing to me, and I’ve missed being able to ask for advice with my fighting skills.”
“Understood.” Time grinned, earning a mirror expression from the princess.
How the heck was everyone taking this all in stride? Was Legend’s sister...dating Wild or some shit? How did she know Wind and Time? How did she know Sky? How did she know any of them?
“So,” Twilight cocked a hip and stared down at the princess with a warm smile. “They let you stay around, even after switching out all of us?”
“Yep! I am, apparently, quite the favorite. As is L- I mean Wild.” She sent a warm smile towards said hero, who flushed with pleasure. Ew.
“Should’a known it, he's a good kid.”
“He says you mentored him, so I suppose that can be attributed, in part, to you!”
“Aw, thanks, Zelly.”
Warriors would like a drink now please.
“Wait,” Four stared at the princess, eyes slitted and brows furrowed in a way that revealed he was clearly having a headache as well. “You’re- good grief- you know all of us, don’t you?”
Warriors really needs a drink. Seriously? Four too?
“And who are you?” Fable cocked her head.
Four flushed, ducking his head. “Hero of the Four Sword.”
Like a switch had been flipped, recognition sparked in Fable’s gaze. “Oh! That- that makes sense! I had forgotten, I suppose, how you all- well-” She waved her hand vaguely, and while none of the others seemed to understand it (thank Hylia he wasn’t the only one), Four apparently did. “You don’t think it’s weird?”
“Heavens no!” Fable drew back, looking mildly offended. “Link- my Link- or rather, my brother- Good heavens, what on earth do you all call him?”
“Idiot. Pain in the ass. Veteran.” Warriors listed off, making sure his displeasure with being left out of the conversation was made very clear.
“Legend.” Hyrule answered, shooting a glare Warriors’ way.
“Legend, my, that fits,” Fable shook her head with another tinkling laugh. “Does the same thing, albeit in a different manner and without the use of the Four Sword.”
“Heard that!” Legend shouted from just outside the room. “Stop telling them things!”
“Then come in here and make me, you sissy!”
The vet stormed back in, cheeks red and brow looking considerably more bruised than it had been ten minutes previous. “Not a sissy.”
“Yet you only appear on occasion, and never fight?” The princess snarked, hands on her hips.
“Do I look like I have the time to be fighting?” Legend returned, mirroring her pose with enough attitude to match the blue flames of the princess’s gaze.
“Well, if you have time to play dress up-”
“Necessary for a mission, miss ‘I fight duels in my regalia’.”
“I win duels in my regalia, thank you very much.”
“Heck yeah you do.” And was that- pride in the vet’s voice? “You scare the shit out of all of them.”
“I always was the better of the two of us at doing that, you just spend your time talking to cuckos and wearing my clothes.” The princess smirked.
Legend didn’t even have the decency to flush, crossing his arms with a smirk of his own. “You have to admit, I look better in it than you do.”
“Yes.” Fable beamed. “Yes, you do, and I hate it.” Her smile said the opposite but the conversation seemed to be over at that, the princess turning to continue conversing with the other heroes only to spin around again and clap her hands. “Oh! You're off exploring and adventuring, so you drop a message for me! Tell Peach and Daisy that I’m awful sorry I missed tea last time, we’ve been trying for weeks to get around to it, but with L- Wild having disappeared, the Master simply won’t give me the free time and Mother’s been just as strict.”
Legend pouted. “Only if they’re the only ones home, if I have to see that insufferable plumber’s face again I think I might just punch him.”
“Please do.” Fable spat. “He used that stupid hat of his to mind control me and make me kick the crap out of my team.”
“He mind controlled my sister?” Legend hissed.
“Yes, that dumb hat of his is sentient now, and he can force us to do things.”
“I hate that thing.” Wild scowled.
“Same.” Several others echoed.
Sky looked between them all. “Are we talking about Mario? Because if so, Legend, I will totally join you in punching him in the face, that guy is a pain!”
“Oh, him!” Hyrule scowled. “I don’t like him; he grates on my nerves like nobody's business.”
“He’s worse than Tingle.” Wind added, face screwed up in distain.
“Seconded.” Twilight and Time called out together.
“Third, Fourth, Fifth and sixthed.” Four added.
“Just because your name is ‘Four’ doesn’t mean you get four votes.” Warriors groaned, staring at his companions in irritation. “And who the heck are you all talking about? How do all of you know him? Is he immortal?”
“Hylia, I hope not.” Nine voices groaned at once.
“Neighboring kingdom.” Legend replied. “The Mushroom kingdom’s own hero is an idiot plumber by the name of Mario. His twin isn’t bad, but he’s a piece of work. I’ve had to deal with outbreaks of monsters from their kingdom on multiple occasions because he can’t keep them contained. Add in there that their princess is captured every other Tuesday because the guy can’t up and beat her kidnapper for good, and the kingdoms a mess.” Legend paused, frowning. “Wait, I just agreed to go there, didn’t I?”
“Yep.” Fable chirped. “But don’t worry, Bowser is hanging out with his kids this weekend, so he shouldn’t be causing problems while you’re all here.”
Warriors groaned, this time, loud enough that all of them heard him. “Bowser? Are you on a familiar enough standing with some villain that he tells you his weekend plans?”
“Yes.” The twin siblings answered, Fable bright and cherry while Legend deadpanned.
“We even play sports with him on occasion.” Fable added.
“And who,” Warriors tacked on, absolutely done and uncaring for the fact that apparently Legend and Fable played golf or something with their neighboring kingdoms greatest threat. “The heck! Is Mario?”
Nine pairs of eyes stared back at him for a moment, blinking in confusion.
“You know,” Twilight stated slowly. “Has anyone actually ever seen Wars at an event?”
“Come to think of it,” Fable tapped her chin. “You are the only one I’ve never seen before.”
“The only one?” Can Warriors please get a drink?
“I’ve met all of the others, be it in racing, sports, fighting matches, any number of things, but I don’t think I’ve ever even seen you, much less heard of you. Who are you?”
“That,” Legend smirked. “Is the Hero of Warriors. And I don’t know if I should laugh or feel bad that he was never popular enough to get selected for the games.”
“You weren’t either.” Wind hissed.
“Mom said I was on bed rest from being struck by lightning.” Legend waved him off. “I’ve had my time in the Mushroom kingdom, and if they ever do invite me back, I’d burn that Smash invite so fast the Master would think it never arrived.”
That’s it. He’s done. “Legend, I’m stealing your thunder-”
“Please do.”
“I’m going to go bang my head against the wall until the world makes sense again, or until I black out, Bye.” And with that, Warriors left.
(This entire fic was inspired by @tortilla-of-courage, her blog had a stint of asks about the boys knowing each other from Mario Kart and whatnot and it set my brain spinning. I blame her that this was the only thing I could think of when trying to write Sky meeting Fable. Thank's Tortilla!)
