Rose & Camellia Collection takes the best part of the soap opera classic Dynasty and injects it with a unique genre that works far better than it has any right to.

Could I request Cyno, Al-Haitham, Ayato and Childe with an s/o that loves making them flower bouquets?
— FLOWERS BY YOUR SIDE : #genshin impact !
⌗:, a/n: its the horsemen of the apocalypse. I love the above characters <3
⌗:, pairings: cyno, alhaitham, ayato & childe w/ gn!reader
⌗:, warning: tooth rottening fluff
Tumblr media
— CYNO
The winter has passed and spring embraced Sumeru anew. With spring comes good weather and of course, a beautiful floral landscape. The people of sumeru also celebrate many spring festivals so the whole city has a sweet fragrance all together. The city was bustling as always but you were comfortable leaning against your lover and watching the dusk birds fly across the dreamy landscape.
He had closed his eyes as the winds blew past his handsome features. You were making a wreath out of sumeru roses since it matches his colour scheme well. You planned to carry it out in secrecy but nothing escapes the general's eyes. "love what is that?" you were almost close, so so close to victory yet he woke up. You forcibly kissed him to caught him off guard and placed the crown on his head. He was puzzled. This daring act of affection barely ever came from you and not only did it made cyno's face flush hot but he enjoyed it a bit too much.
The mahamatra absolutely weak under your gaze which spells 'I won!' as you scrutinise him with the purple flowers adorning his fluffy white hair. He looked beautiful...ethereal even.
"Love you do know you can just ask. wait do that again. the– the kiss"
Oh how sweet victory tastes.
— ALHAITHAM
The pressure of filling the papers and doing his duties as the grand sage never ended, but he has to make some time for you, right? After you cutely persuaded your boyfriend to stay with you he has to listen to your whims now. So here he was not so regretting his decision as you removed the bunch of papers from his hand and kept it under s tree.
The smell of the coming of spring and fresh flowers in bloom filled his noses, and the gentle sway of the wind lulled him to sleep. Seeing as your boyfriend is already deep into slumber, you picked up the padisarahs and made a wreath out of it, carefully placing it on his head. you collected other assortment of flowers and tried your best to make a bouquet of them.
How ethereal he looked under the floral effects..such moments when your lover is peacefully sleeping are hard yo come by so propping your kamera up you took a picture. One to remind you of the sweet memories you shared with your true love.
— AYATO KAMISATO
Komore teahouse was the only rendezvous which you and ayato could use to meet up in private without anyone knowing. His identity is one that cannot be tainted so before you two can indulge in your official announcement as lovers. These interactions behind walls were sufficient enough for you.
Spring embraced Inazuma once again, and Thoma collected fleshly picked flowers from the market. The teahouse was filled with sweet fragrance. "The flowers are especially nice today." With you, his formal personality slips away, and he seems much friendlier to approach.
While he took a sip of the tea and chatted with you, he also intensively looked at your handiwork. The wreath of flowers from the ones thoma bought that day. Besides making them, you also prepared a flower arrangement in a vase. He chuckled and said "dearest who are these for?" "for the loveliest person in teyvat. " "Oh? then they must be quite lucky to have attracted the eyes of such a beauty as yourself"
"mhm, they are." Just after finishing your sentence, you were done with the wreath made of camellias you propped it up on Ayato's head. "dove suddenly?"
"oh I was making that for you from the beginning. don't remove it! it looks beautiful on you."
— CHILDE
His love language to you is in the form of gifts and precious materials. His long-term absence due to his fatui job has been extremely tiring especially when he wakes up to a cold side every morning remembering about your body snuggling against his and the warmth of the bedroom.
Snezhnaya is always covered under snow and you have been living with Childe for a long time. Naturally you craved the view of a forest and a warm climate. So here you were with you lover in Liyue among the ocean view of Yaoguang Shoal.
A sunset view and a soft breeze as you traversed across the sands with a bouquet of qingxin. You presented the bouquet to him and sat on a rock. "babe did you make these for me?". Your gifts were a form of weakness to him. Although they may not be as expensive as his gifts but the time and love you put to make each one of them always has him weak in the heart. "these are for you. thank you for bringing me here love". He pulled you close and laid his head of your shoulder. The view of the orange sun and the dazzling sea that he gets to enjoy with his beautiful lover. What more could a person whose life had always been shrouded with darkness and crimes could ask for?

"You want to kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid." - SKK Valentine's Week Day 2
Prompts used: Camellias | Floral Troubles | “You want to kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid.”
Tumblr media
The cubicle Dazai was paid to sit in from 9-5 every weekday was in a cluster of identical cubicles, of which there were a dozen or so clusters on his floor– floor eight of twenty-something in the particular office building he worked at. His desk held his computer, his plain blue mousepad, a pad of sticky notes, and a cheap, dime-a-dozen ballpoint pen. If he had it his way, the three and a half flimsy gray walls he was surrounded by for the majority of his time on earth would be decorated with photos, artwork, or at least a wall calendar. But, as outlined in the employee manual shoved deep in his desk drawer, “Alteration or decoration of your assigned workspace is strictly prohibited.” In his first year working at the company, he’d made the mistake of hanging a mini wall calendar– each month displaying a picture of a rare flower along with fun facts about it. His boss had assured him he wasn’t in trouble, necessarily, just that he should consider their meeting a verbal warning and that he would do well to re-read the manual to avoid further issues. And, of course, remove the calendar from his cubicle. Immediately.
His only solace from the monotony of work was coming home every evening to work on his garden. He’d spent years gathering an impressive collection of rare and interesting plants which now filled every available space in his backyard. Each one required specialized care, the details of which he’d memorized along with every interesting fact there was to be learned about them. The overall look of his garden was, well, complete chaos. The colors and styles clashed ridiculously, and since he rarely planned out the layout of the outdoor space before bringing home a new plant, they were gathered in random clusters with absolutely no organization in mind. It was his personal heaven. Personality oozed from every square inch of the space; a complete contrast to his sterile work environment. It was here that he could truly express himself.
The sound of a car pulling into the driveway next door put a damper on his mood only slightly. He and his neighbor had only one thing in common: a love for gardening. After that, the similarities ended. While Dazai’s garden was a sanctuary of personality and intrigue, his neighbor’s was as boring and flavorless as it could get. The rose bushes were meticulously groomed to the shape of perfect cubes, all set in rows that reminded Dazai of the cubicles at work. The colors of the roses in each bush formed a gradient, with each manicured block hosting a slightly lighter shade. It was disgusting how perfectly the garden conformed to the “ideal” suburban look. Honestly, who was he trying to impress with all that?
Meanwhile, next door, all Chuuya wanted was to get out of his scrubs and take a long, long shower. He’d been on shift for 12 hours at the emergency room, one of the busier days he’d seen. The whole day was just a constant influx of patients, and as the charge nurse, he was expected to direct all of that. Not to mention they’d had a teen admitted who was badly injured in a car crash— he ended up passing away during treatment.
In his line of work, everything was constantly chaotic and out of his control. Even with his best efforts, he failed to save patients from time to time. A job as stressful as his would be unmanageable without some kind of escape, so he’d thrown himself into gardening shortly after taking the job at the ER. He’d come to love the meditative, repetitive actions involved in growing and pruning his roses. It was something he could control— the effort he put into their care had a direct effect on how they looked. On the harder days (like this one), even a quick glance at his garden was enough to boost his spirits a little.
Chuuya dropped his keys and his bag heavily inside the door. One quick look at the garden and some deep breaths, then he’d head up to shower. But when he opened the blinds over the kitchen sink, he saw something that made his blood boil.
He stormed outside and crouched by the rose bush to look closer at the offending item. It was a camellia, red and stubborn, rooted firmly in the dirt next to the path. He ripped it from the ground and stood up, trying to calm his breathing. This was fine. It was just one weed amidst a garden of hard work. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
But then he spotted another, just a few feet away. This one was younger, barely a bud. He let his eyes roam over the garden and was infuriated to find camellias everywhere. Fully bloomed, tightly coiled buds, and sprouts alike; all over his sanctuary.
The sound of a plastic container being opened drew his attention to the backyard next door. Dazai stood near the fence, feeding his Venus fly trap dead flies with a pair of forceps.
“You!” Chuuya hissed, marching over to the fence.
Dazai glanced up, surprised. “What are you wearing..?” he asked.
“Hah? I’m a nurse, dumbass. We’ve been neighbors for years, how did you not know that?”
Dazai shrugged and fed the plant another fly.
“What the fuck is this?” Chuuya demanded, shoving the camellia in his fist across the fence.
Dazai wrinkled his nose. “How should I know? I don’t plant boring shit like that.”
“It’s a camellia,” Chuuya sneered. “And I know you hate my roses. You’ve probably been looking for an excuse to mess up my garden since I planted it.”
Dazai put the lid back on the container of flies and rolled his eyes. “It’s ugly as hell, yeah, but you overestimate how much I think of your boring-ass flowers.”
“You’re a horrible liar,” Chuuya said, then pointed over Dazai’s shoulder. “You’re growing camellias right over there.”
Sure enough, there was a small cluster of the red flowers next to the fire lilies. Dazai scrunched his brow. “Huh? I didn’t plant those.”
“Suuure,” Chuuya said sarcastically. “And you didn’t plant them in my garden either.”
“I didn’t!” Dazai insisted. Against his better judgment, he muttered, “Your stupid garden could use a little personality, though.”
Chuuya grabbed Dazai by the front of his shirt and pulled him forward harshly. “And yours could use a little uniformity, but you don’t see me complaining,” he hissed.
To Chuuya’s surprise, a grin spread across Dazai’s face. “Oh I see what’s going on,” he said. “You created this whole fight just so you’d have an excuse to talk to me. Planted some seeds in my garden while I was at work, then in yours too so you could blame me.”
“The fuck?”
“Just ask for my number. You don’t need to do all this, chibi,” Dazai teased.
“Wanna say that again?” he growled, instantly bristling at the nickname.
“You’re even pulling me in by my shirt,” Dazai said with a laugh. “You wanna kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid.”
Chuuya narrowed his eyes. “Do you try to get out of all arguments by flirting?” he deadpanned.
“Only ones against cute guys.”
Chuuya hated the flush that rose in his cheeks; hated that he broke eye contact for just a moment.
“Is it working?” Dazai murmured.
“You asshole,” Chuuya grumbled, then yanked Dazai the remaining distance. Their mouths collided harshly, teeth clacking. Chuuya kissed him angrily; desperately. It apparently amused Dazai to no end, as he smiled against his lips while holding him close with a hand on his neck. When they pulled apart, Dazai tugged Chuuya’s bottom lip between his teeth slightly. He was still grinning as Chuuya failed to hide his blush behind his hand.
“Shut up,” Chuuya muttered.
“I didn’t say anything!” Dazai said defensively.
“Well… stop thinking then.”
Dazai laughed then, and it was a crime how cute it was. “Wanna come over for dinner?”
Chuuya sighed. “Fine, let me shower first. And take back your dumb flower.” He shoved the camellia into Dazai’s chest and started walking back to the house.
“Chibi gave me a flower!” Dazai yelled happily, twirling in a circle and waving at a scowling Chuuya. “See you tonight, my love!”
A strong breeze blew through the early evening air, past the cluster of industrial buildings in the city, over the wheat fields by the high school, and finally through the flower fields less than a mile from the neighborhood Chuuya and Dazai lived in. Small red flowers bobbed in the wind, scattering their seeds where the wind blew them. The camellias looked beautiful this time of year.

i have perhaps never sent a more important ask in my life. DROP THE BUNGOU STRAY DOGS A/B/O DESIGNATIONS AND SCENT PROFILES
(also without the slashes abo is used as a slur for indigenous australians aka aboriginal people! important to know, i didn't either until just last month)
anon, at the risk of seeming naive, i'm choosing to trust that people are picking up on enough context to not assume the slur denotation.
anyway!!!! supernatural-origin misinformed wolf sex designations but bsd, ft. scent profiles + some additional (but not comprehensive) notes where applicable:
Armed Detective Agency
Fukuzawa [Α]: Fukuzawa smells like agarwood and eugenol, which is distilled from the leaves of red camellias and smells warm and spicy, like nutmeg. Agarwood was popular among Sengoku-era samurai and is often associated with Tokugawa Iyesu, who famously collected incense. I chose eugenol more specifically as a reference to Higo camellias, a group of Camellia japonica cultivars.
Ranpo [Ω]: Ranpo smells buttery sweet, nutty, and creamy with a hint of vanilla. In other words, he smells like an azuki dessert. Fukuzawa thought he'd grow out of it. He did not.
Yosano [Α]: Yosano has a really rich, sensual coffee and rose and patchouli scent.
Kunikida [Α]: Kunikida smells like whiskey oak barrel wood smoked hojicha. The wood I've chosen here is an intentional reference to Hokkaido, where Kunikida Doppo lived (briefly) with Nobuko Sasaki, and about which he wrote.
Dazai [Ω]: Dazai smells like bamboo, vetiver, and ginger, inequally depending on his state. There's a hint of saltwater too, but it's subtle and most don't notice. I won't explain myself here, but I will say the saltwater is a layered reference to multiple moments and places in his life and works lest anyone misconstrue it as referring to Flowers of Buffoonery and the events externalized therein.
Jun'ichiro [Ω]: Jun'ichiro smells like urushi sap with an edge of melon-sweetness, and red maple wood. My choices here are, in part, references to In Praise of Shadows.
Naomi [Α]: I'll decide when I finish reading the eponymous novel.
Atsushi [Α]: Atsushi smells like yuzu, mikan, and basil. Very edible, that one. Most assume he's an omega when they meet him.
Kenji [Α]: Kenji smells like nutty wheat, rain, and freshly tilled soil.
Kyouka [Α]: Kyouka smells like woody neriko incense with notes of honey and plum.
Port Mafia
Mori [Ω]: tbd
Kouyou [Ω]: tbd
Verlaine [manufactured to be and cloned from Α, but inexplicably Ω]: tbd
Chuuya [Ω]: Chuuya smells like French violets, anise, black pepper, and myrrh.
Akutagawa [Α]: Akutagawa smells like smoked amber, leather, and fig.
Rimbaud [Α]: tbd
The Guild
Poe [it doesn't matter, don't worry about it]: Poe smells like wet, freshly poured graveyard soil.
anyone not mentioned and any scents yet assigned are only because i haven't gotten around to them yet. (except for poe's designation; that one just doesn't matter, so don't worry about it.)

Types of Wizards! ✨
Tumblr media
❥ This was just a fun idea since I’ve been reading lots of fantasy headcanons, I wanted to try! Plus I don’t see too many for magic-y stuff out there so this gave me a good idea!
❥ Also! Most of these are female centered but some of this can be for boys too! I just prefer the term wizard because it sounds cooler lol. But thank you! Enjoy!
Storybook Wizards 🤎
Usually has an owl or sparrows as a companion.
Quills are made from barn owl feathers.
Wands are made from cinnamomum trees, elm trees, or hazel trees.
Likes to feed the crickets that sing on the bookshelves. Some think it’s gross but they’re very nice!
Uses golden wax seals for nearly everything.
Collects old trinkets they find or receive from friends. They don’t work anymore or are just old, but has tried fixing them up.
Loves both books & scrolls, but thinks books are easier to hold onto. That one friend who decides to read one more chapter, but ends up reading all night.
Loves to wish on stars or dandelions but is too embarrassed to tell anyone.
Seems like a bit of a hermit, but is actually really friendly! Loves to interact with people & exchange different interests, quite talkative at times.
Either works at an archive or some kind of library, has a special little key that works only for them.
Weather Wizards 🌩️
Usually has a bird of prey as a companion, but don’t worry they’re friendly 😅🙏
Quills are made from crow feathers.
Wands are made from maple trees, pine trees, or baobab trees.
The ultimate bird parent!! Birds love them & they’re always putting out bird seed feeders or scraps of veggies.
Lives alone in a tall tower in the middle of the woods. Only goes to town when necessary & will turn into a grumpy pants if you knock on their door.
Sometimes storm clouds or rain will swirl around their house, usually due to spell testing or potions.
The weather is actually pretty nice when they’re around! Cool breezes, clear skies, warm sunny days; tries to deny it’s their work until the sunshine gets brighter.
Collects clean water in mason jars or glass bottles when it rains.
Likes to climb rooftops & chart the stars.
Can always sense when a storm is approaching, doesn’t matter what kind they’re spot on. Likely their job is to keep them at bay as a guardian or lookout.
Love Wizards 💝
Usually has a dove or a type of songbird as a companion.
Quills are made from white swan feathers.
Wands are made from cherry trees, camellia trees, or jasmine shrubs.
Has an easier time communicating with fauna.
Ladybugs are automatically attracted to them & will usually bring good luck to them throughout the day.
Stores their potions in old perfume bottles but will make perfume as a small side job. Has to label everything though.
Has a small rose bush growing outside of their window; likes to talk to it & believes plants have feelings.
Super affectionate! Either the mom friend or the cutsey clingy child friend.
Never forgets Valentine’s Day!! (I’m sorry I know it was last week!) Goes over the top every year & everyone either gets a bouquet or a little goodie bag. The size of the gift depends on who you are sometimes.
Business is a postal service for relationship problems but gets a lot of love letters to proofread. A bit embarrassed receiving one addressed to them.
Swamp Wizards 🐸
Usually has a crane or even a heron as a companion. But sometimes that makes it hard to get in them the house...
Quills are made from duck feathers.
Wands are made of mangrove trees, dogwood trees, or lilypad stems.
Defined as the oddballs of wizardry. They are known to travel a lot but usually live alone.
Uses an old timey ferry boat to get around, but has to use magic to get the paddle wheel moving. It’ll creak & stop like an old engine.
Probably the most experienced in floral/nature magic & their house is like an absolute jungle. Will even let moss grow out because “it wants to be there.”
Has tried more than once to kiss a frog & see if it’ll turn into their true love, but carries medicine around just in case.
Really loves milkweed flowers & will set up cute bundles in their home to make it smell good.
The best cook in the world but mostly uses magic to help.
Probably the friendliest person you’ll meet! Will tell all sorts of stories about their travels, the different kinds of people they’ve met, where to find the best berry bushes, how to care for tadpoles— It might be awhile before you can introduce yourself…

◈ 𝘈𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘪 𝘎𝘦𝘯 𝘹 𝘧𝘦𝘮!𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳
◈ 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆: Gen knows an awful lot about flowers
cw: fem!Reader, POV Third Person, fluff, unedited word count: 1.2k
 ◈ ᴍɪɴᴏʀꜱ/ʙʟᴀɴᴋ/ᴀɢᴇʟᴇꜱꜱ ʙʟᴏɢꜱ ᴡɪʟʟ ʙᴇ ʙʟᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ ◈
“A personal favorite, black nightshade.” Gen held up the ironically white blossom sporting a vibrant yellow center, showing it off for the both of them to admire while he twirled the severed stem in his fingers, “One I’d often use in my shows because of it’s meaning. Liar.”
With eyes not set on just one bushel of flowers. The woman next to him took a quiet moment to see more than just what the magician was showing her, “Tell me more.”
Gen’s brows pinched together making him look away from the flower in his grasp, “What?”
She cocked a brow up at him inquisitively, “What? I said, tell me more.”
“About...nightshade?”
His confusion made her snicker but quickly she shook her head and pointed at the otherwise disregarded flowers and plants around them on this miniature hike right at the base of the waterfall, “I already know about that one. Tell me about the other flowers.”
At his disposal was no florist shop he could quickly visit to conjure up the correct species with his words. And yet the renewed world was teeming with some varieties he was quite familiar with around the village of science and it’s inhabitants. Gen’s petrification scar curled up into a grin as his own lips found themselves smirking as well, “One you should know because of it’s popularity, a lily. White for a purity. But the red ones for your final goodbye to a loved one. And if that isn’t enough one bearing the color orange might as well be a gift of hatred to a foe.” Gen dug through his knowledge of flowers and recited them all as eloquently as the day he’d been turned to stone, “A hydrangea, a beautiful flower colored by it’s pH balance, may be given in conjunction with an apology or thank you letter. Collect the blossoms from a falling cherry tree and know those petals mean hope and renewal just like the time of year they bloom. Chrysanthemum very much so reflected the imperial family as it was printed on the fifty yen coin. Though we may never care about that anymore thanks to the stone age. And camellias, specifically those striking red ones, were once laid among the mighty samurais that lost their life.”
“Is there a flower you don’t know the meaning to?” She inquired with quite a bit of curiosity after Gen recited his knowledge like he had prepped for a pop quiz. It couldn’t be helped, the smile growing on her lips as the master of slight of hand and apparently flowers stopped to see his audience hanging onto every word he had. Gen’s cheeks came to life with a dusting of blush that would not be deterred even if he looked away from his audience. Who of course giggled at him and reached over to take the nightshade from his fingers, “I’ve loved flowers since I was a little girl. So I’m sorry if I’m being pushy.”
“No no no.” Gen squeaked a little as he tried to disregard her apology as nothing at all, “An engaging audience makes it all the more fun if you ask me. So-” He cleared his throat and mustered his sanity to stay a foot above his blushing complexion when looking back over at her, “What flower exactly do you want to know it’s meaning of? Warning, I may be a little rusty if it’s not native to Japan.”
What he expected was the classics. Asking about a rose. A daisy like the one school kids made chains out of. Even ready for something a little more difficult like a peony or an iris as he recalled them being popular. What he wasn’t ready for was her to immediately get up. No warning. And really no explanation to it. His brows knitted together in confusion when his hiking companion looked as though she’d lost a contact or earring with the way she scanned the ground.
“Um....what are you doing?” Gen titled his head a little unsure if he should assume she was loosing it or worse ate something and was looking for the suspect to show him.
When there was no answer but a good a-ha moment. Gen was not expecting to see her sit back down with the flimsy singular cone petal of common, over growing and weed like morning glory. One she’d pinched a bit of stem off with. And proceeded to present it to him when she sat back down on the log where they’d taken up residency.
Delicate little blue petals with it’s streak of almost pinkish color leading back to it’s stamen. The look of proud satisfaction on her face was more akin to a cat bringing home a dead bird. And not someone who’d picked one of the most common weeds that previously plagued school playgrounds.
Gen finally broke the silence without a lick of understanding, “That’s uh...”
“Morning glory.” She nodded frankly not sharing in his confusion, “Morning glory, right?”
“Yeah....it’s morning glory.” Gen untucked his hands from his robe and pointed at it almost derogatorily, “You know that’s just basically a weed right?”
“Oh I know.” She surprisingly agreed making him wonder why exactly she’d pick that, “But-” Her eyes softened staring down at the little thing when she twirled it between her fingers, “It’s important and I remember it from when I was a kid. Do you know what it means?”
While morning glory was something he’d of never bothered with in an act. It was pretty common so if she really didn’t know it’s meaning Gen was surprised, “Uh, something like, innocence and love, kids would give it to each other kind of thing. Why, did someone give you some or something?”
“No.” She said somberly which Gen was taken back by. As he stared at the flower in her grasp she took one last look at it before reaching out and tucking it behind the short pieces of black hair around his ear. Making the magician freeze with wide eyes when she sat back to inspect the flower tucked in his ear and the endearing look of worry on his face. It made her laugh all the same when Gen’s face officially blossomed in as much red as some of the flowers around them, “No one ever gave me one when I was a kid. So I hope you’ll let me give you this one now even if we’re technically a few centuries old.”
Gen not realizing he’d sucked in a breath and held it before his lungs were burning. Could not bring himself to break eye contact with the woman staring at him across the log. Only reaching up to touch the delicately soft petals of the otherwise useless weed no one spent two seconds on centuries ago. But now it felt like the most valuable flower he’d ever held in his hand.
Not removing it from his ear Gen couldn’t believe the fast one she’d pulled on him when it was his idea in the first place to try and impress her with this nature walk. Still touching the petal tucked against his ear Gen couldn’t stop the sheepish smile breaking his showman façade, “I’d love this flower so much more, if you were perhaps to have a matching one as well.”
“Well then,” She stood up from the log and offered a hand down to the blushing magician, “Our hike isn’t done yet, lets find another one shall we?”

PAX EAST 2024 IMPRESSIONS: Rose & Camellia Collection
Publisher(s): WayForward Platform: Nintendo Switch Release Date: April 16, 2024 Website Rose & Camellia Collection, and the five games contained within it, was probably one of the craziest and funniest games I played at PAX East 2024, and it presented a surprising amount of actual gameplay depth for you to figure out that I can see people loving. Send my muse some flowers and they'll react to their meaning
@angel-dust-bitch said:
White Camellia — "You’re adorable.” Blue Flax — “You are very kind.” Deadly Nightshade — "I believe you to be false.” Iris — "Your friendship means so much to me” Myrtle — “Be my sweetheart.” Pink Carnation — “I’ll never forget you.” Scarlet Geranium — "I do not trust you.” Sweet Pea — "Thank you for a lovely time.” Tea Rose — "I’ll remember, always.” Viscaria — “Will you dance with me?”
When Alastor returned from his morning stroll, he was greeted by Niffty hopping over and handing him the collection of flowers. Now, this wasn't unheard of, exactly, he and Rosie had a habit of sending flowers to one another on occasion.
However... the little maid was quick to tell him that this particular set wasn't from Rosie. Rather, it was from Angel.
Taking the flowers, Alastor thanked his employee before trotting up the stairs, examining the collection as he did so.
His eyebrows lift in surprise upon seeing the deadly nightshade nestled between the tiny blue flaxes and the elegant iris, both so very complimentary-- with that far less complimentary one nestled in. He chuckles. Of course, he doesn't blame Angel for thinking such things; however, while Alastor is a wretched, damn soul, false is one thing he isn't. Pehaps he'll explain that to the s--
He pauses in his tracks when he realizes the flower nestled in behind the iris. That's not one he's as familiar with, but he believes it to mean...
Ha, no, he must be mistaken. That would be a considerably strange question to ask amongst the declarative flowers like the geranium and the nightshade.
Though, upon looking through the rest of the flowers, he decides to check. A snap of his fingers summons a dictionary of flower language to his hand, and upon finding the myrtle's page, he comes to see that he was not, in fact, mistaken.
The book vanishes from his presence before he turns on his hooves to find the spider in question. His ears tweak forward upon hearing his familiar footsteps, and upon rounding the corner to see his fellow sinner, his smile grows the slightest margin.
"I've never known you to be subtle, my dear~"

Persephone Sleeps
I follow you to the rose garden / the camellias have dripped free their leaves
You cup your ear to the soil / listening for the murmurs of underworld tributaries
Persephone sleeps / you pick the pomegranate from your teeth
I wish you would smile at me / all teeth / parted lips / whisper / for me
I watch you lay in the grass / I watch so closely I can see it grow around you
Swim your arms out / stretch / a mewing of syllables / release
I can’t tell you from the ends of my arms / the breath of your lungs is mine / is ours
I can’t hear my own thoughts for yours / I can’t speak without repose to you
How strange to feel us move backwards through time / as if all memory were sensation and all sensation were memory / and what not but a dissolving
How lonely in the spaces between light that no light touch upon / to not see the pollen for the trees
How simple to laugh at insects flying over rivers / into the stream and out again
I watch my life as it pools in collections of moments / these minutes of turning heads
You point at the halo of petals surrounding the base of the tree / You point at me and I feel beautiful
Run screaming into my heart.

Lyttona likely has about as much pomp & circumstance as a typical royal wedding, but not as much, given that there are four royal families in the country, so royal weddings are a bit more common place. Though with more twists to give more feminine touches to things, given that men are not seen the same in Lyttona as they do anywhere else.
Consider the old tradition of the father of the bride walking her down the aisle & 'giving her away'. Such a tradition would instead be given to the mother of the bride. Or the sister, or aunt, grandmother, any important female figure in the bride's life. Or the older tradition of seeking the father's blessing to marrying their child, people would typically ask their mother instead, if not both parents.
Before the wedding itself, the marrying couple will be bathed in a tub of sparkling water together & are expected to wash each other with scentless products. It serves as a gentle & intimate moment before they part ways to prepare dressing for the ceremony. For royals weddings, like most other kingdoms, brides & grooms are allow access to the crown jewels. In the case of Lyttona, there 5 different collections of crown jewels, one for each grand duchy, & then the one collection that is shared among them all. Brides & grooms are allowed access to only the collection for their respective grand duchy & the shared collection.
At the end of the ceremony, they follow the same tradition as Camellia, in that the couple will release doves into the air & upon leaving the ceremony site, instead of rice being thrown, white & pink rose petals will be thrown over the couple. The now married couple will then head to their destination for their reception, where there will be feasting, drinking, & of course, cake. From there, the couple will retire to their honeymoon, in which the couple is given an entire week for freedom away from duties & responsibilities.
In the case of a Grand Duchess's wedding to a foreign royal, upon being married, rather then also being referred to as a Grand Duke or Grand Duchess, their spouse will instead be referred to as 'Duke Royale of *insert suit here*' or 'Duchess Royale of *insert suit here*'. Being referred to as a duke or duchess indicts their position below the Grand Duchess, while the 'royale' part still gives a honorable nod to the spouse's royal blood.

hi frank! what are some of the flowers you like?
I don't tend to keep a particularly huge collection (there are some plants I think about acquiring and adding to the collection often enough that it doesn't feel like cheating to just have one) but some favorites:
I like some ornamental gingers, but in particular I like one kind of ornamental ginger called "sunset" because I am very fond of it and also it just looks nice to me
I like hibiscus flowers (and the flowers look good) but there are more varieties and I like a lot of the hybrids more
The white flowers on Carpinus (the "baby's breath") are a personal favorite because I like how they look
Chrysanthemums are fun
I like the look of hellebores, but they're not necessarily in bloom in my area
There are also a couple varieties of peonies that aren't as bright/showy as the more "classic" types, and which I like more
Some varieties of camellia
Most flowers in the genus Rhododendron
For some reason, I like the "sage green" color of the "garden sage" (A. umbellatum) flower. The Wikipedia picture doesn't do it justice -- it is a more saturated version of the color, which I appreciate
I don't have a deep personal attachment to any specific flower, but the salvias (also called "sage" or "common sage" in the US) are good-looking and make pretty good cut flowers
I should note that I'm talking about "flowers" here in a fairly idiosyncratic way. I am not really interested in flowers that are just plants (a very wide variety of plants). My interest extends to all sorts of "floral" things -- plants whose stems are covered with flowers -- even plants without flowers, which have small bits of flowers on leaves or stems or stalks. And of course this is a non-exhaustive list because I'm not very knowledgeable about flowers in general.
My interest does, however, have its limits. I would rather not discuss how the flower might smell, since I know next to nothing about flowers or flowers and their smells. Some flowers are not sufficiently "flowery" and not especially interesting to me, and the idea of discussing their "flavor" would probably seem weird and off-putting. And some plants that are not technically flowers have a strong flowery "taste," e.g. hibiscus (especially the "red sun" ones), which is part of why I like hibiscus -- I like flowers in general, but they can be overwhelming when they are very present. This is a reason for limiting the set of "flowers" to the ones I like.
----
Some of the things I do like about roses:
Colorful/vivid color combinations
Strong primary scent
Strong general scent (I like to smell the flowers before I buy a plant for this reason)
Scent is stronger in the bud, but the fragrance doesn't last too long once I've cut them.
Pleasant-smelling plants in general, often but not always scented
Not bad for cutting flowers for bouquets -- I like my flowers to be quite clean without being bleached out (I also dislike them being bleached out)
I'm not sure what else to say about roses? They're pleasant to look at and smell and they have flowers that look nice and sometimes when they're in full bloom they look particularly nice and when they are blooming I go around smelling them.
Some of the things I like about azaleas:
They're often in full bloom while in the store
They have a strong (often primary) scent
They have a pleasant smell when they are in bloom
Flowers can be a bit hard to grow
I love them in winter, too, with all their pinkish white "hair" and their snow-covered leaves
I like the texture of their blooms and the petals. This is a really nice texture. (When they are wet, these feel almost like fabric and this is a very nice sensation.)
I like the fact that they have flowers and I like the flowers I like about them, and that's the end of it. They are not very "special" in that they have something I don't want to have, they are not the sort of flower I want to think about when I'm at the store or just looking at pictures. I just think they look nice.
Some of the things I like about hollyhocks:
Nice smell
Good-looking flowers (also, they have flowers that are a little bit redder than usual, but they are otherwise very conventional-looking and I like this)
Nice texture
Often in bloom at the store
