Idea Prompt

I had this cute idea for an Au!

It's a Modern Au where TheRuFumi are married with kids and you follow their day to day life and the hijinks the kids get up to.

It's basically like a sitcom.

I haven't decided on a name yet (i'm soo tempted to call it, 'Keeping up with The Sickles', but that sounds stupid)

L'arc is the CEO of a multinational million dollar company.

Therese is the owner of several chain brand jewelry stores.

And Naofumi is either the owner of a successful trading company or the director of a famous hospital, can't decide.

Their kids (my personal ocs, but replace them with your own ocs) are Akira, Emery and Luca.

Akira is the L'arc x Naofumi child. He's the oldest of the three and has L'arc's dark crimson hair as well as he slightly tan skin tone along with Naofumi's dark green eyes and wild hair type.

In terms of personality, Akira definitely takes after L'arc. He's very laid-back and easy-going, but he's also known to be reckless and a bit of a troublemaker. Naofumi likes to joke how Akira is basically L'arc's mini-me.

Emery is the Naofumi x Therese child. She's the middle child and is a year younger than Akira. When it comes to appearance, Emery takes after Naofumi more. She has long, wavy hair that's a similar raven-black color to Naofumi. However, she has beautiful sapphire eyes and fair, white skin like Therese.

In terms of personality, Emery takes after her mother. She's very level-headed and responsible, always making sure she and her sibling don't get into too much trouble. She's typically quite polite and sweet, at least to the people she likes, however, she is known to be snarky and even down right hostile to the people she doesn't. Something she definitely inherited from Naofumi.

Luca is the L'arc x Therese child and is the youngest of the three siblings. Luca was born around the time Akira was 9 and Emery was 8. His appearance is a mix of both L'arc and Therese.

His hair is slightly long and straight like his Therese, but is a red color like L'arc. However, Luca's hair is more of a light scarlet color compared to his father's deep crimson color. His eyes are a slightly darker shade of blue than his mother's with tiny specks of red. His skin has a similar white tone as Therese.

Luca is a very quiet, yet curious child. He is nowhere near as energetic as his older siblings and preferred to keep to himself most of the time. Though, he does like to follow his siblings and parents around to see what they do all day.

Of course, Filo and Raphtalia are a part of this Au as well!

Raphtalia is L'arc and Therese's step-daughter in this Au. Naofumi adopted Raphtalia when she was only 10 years old. Before then, she was in foster care after losing her parents in a freak accident and having no living relatives to take her in.

Filo was adopted into the family as a baby about two years, before Luca was born. Very information is known about her biological parents. All the orphanage had on Filo was a birth certificate that only had the mother listed with no contact info.

Regardless, Filo was welcomed as the new addition to the family.

I really just wanted a fluffy au that focuses on the domestic family life of TheRuFumi.

A tall, over-powered lesbian

Three idiots who're slowly getting better at being less idiotic after they all committed some sort of felony each.

A penguin and a raccoon

And a cosmic, over-powered spirit inhabiting a weapon designed to prevent the world from falling to it's utter destruction and doom after, together with three others, kidnapping a wielder from their homeworld to fight for this world and save it instead.

I'm happy someone feels the same about how overdone/overused Jaune is in fanfics and ships, I'm honestly fed up of seeing him be put in some situation where he's in a romance with every female RWBY character, even those he doesn't even know, and being treated like someone who can get all the girls when that's not how he is, he only realised Pyrrha had feelings for him before she left to fight Cinder, so this super-love-master status in fandom is annoying to see when it's in almost everything.

RWBY and She-Ra and Amphibia and The Owl House.

Women being strong without requiring men to save them.

Mansplainers get humbled.

And men are the antagonists.

And nobody is straight except the bad guys.

You can understand how this pisses off a lot of fanfic writers who are in love with the idea of shounen male protagonists, women being "annoying" or "useless" finding their masculinity threatened by more forward thinking media.

You'll notice that any attempts to "Fix" RWBY involve reducing women in every capacity while elevating men.

Give us a harem fic that is reverse-harem. Give us a lesbian harem. What's that? These complainers would rather have a straight white male?

So outdated and honestly, its just trash. Naruto and Bleach and Fairy Tail do that garbage just fine.

One Piece I actually like however. It goes out of its way to make women be able to defeat men, and treat a lot of POC characters with more respect than most Shounen anime like to (glaring at Bleach and how every POC male or female character seems to be an antagonist) No seriously, Bleach took the one Blind Black Guy that was on side of the good guys and decided "let's make him evil, let's turn him into a monster, then kill him off." Not to mention Bleach embraces the “Psycho Lesbian” Trope with Chizuru and regularly considers sexual harassment to be a form of humor....

The shounen anime’s tendency to embrace racism, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia is concerning to me.

I don't see that in RWBY, but I DO see that in fanfics involving Jaune or Adam as the protags...aka cis white male protags.

I'm so sick of that. Then again , Spy X Family and Way of the Househusband do have wonder straight couple writing, but no opportunity for people to force their sad OC ideas of a male power fantasy.

Am I the only one who thinks Rise of the Shield Hero is a Male Power Fantasy?

Au Idea Prompt

Ok soo, I was browsing the internet yesterday, when I came across a piece of fanart from a fandom i used to be a part of and it sparked this idea in my head.

Now i’ll preface by saying, this is NOT an AU of my own creation. Rather it is a pre-existing, but not well known Au outside the fandom it originated from.

Which is a shame cuz it’s a really interesting and creative concept IMO. It’s a specific kind of Royalty Au based around card suits!

Those of the Hetalia Fandom know this Au as Cardverse.

But for those of you who don’t know, Cardverse is a royalty au centered around four kingdoms each based on the card suits of Spades, Clubs, Hearts, & Diamonds.

Each kingdom is ruled by a king and queen with a jack at their side as well. An interesting note to add is the king/queen/jack can be any gender! So, you can have a male queen with a female king and vice versa.

Other than what I just stated above, everything else is up to the writer.

I’m mostly going by original version of the au with a few of my own headcannons here and there. If you're curious about where to find info on Cardverse, you can just look up the hetalia fandom wiki.

With that out of the way, on to the world building!

The Role of Each Position

King - The highest form of authority in the kingdom. The King serves as the one in charge of the domestic affairs and overall well-being of the kingdom. They are also the general of the kingdom’s army. The King is identified by a suit mark with a large ‘K’ on it somewhere on their body. This mark will typically appear sometime around puberty, 13 at the earliest and 18 at the latest. There have been cases where the King is born with the suit mark, but those are few and far between. While most new Kings are usually the heirs of the previous King and Queen, this is not always the case. Over the centuries, there have been Kings from all walks of life. From wealthy nobility to dirt poor commoners, even some that were former slaves. Regardless of their’s background, if one is bestowed the mark of the King, then they are destined to rule the kingdom. However, it is important to note, that a King cannot rule their kingdom without a Queen. The King also carries around a special magic item/weapon.

Queen - The second highest form of authority in the kingdom. The Queen serves as the one in charge of the military in the kingdom. The Queen acts as a sort of counterbalance to the King as there are certain decisions the King cannot make without the Queen’s express permission. This is to ensure that too much power isn’t going solely to the King. Similar to the King, the Queen is identified by a suit mark with a large ‘Q’ on it somewhere on their body. However, unlike the King, the Queen is almost always born with their suit mark. The Queen is typically from a high-status aristocratic family. They are almost never born into a family whose rank is lower than a Count. Unlike the king, the queen can rule their kingdom without a King. The Queen also carries around a special magic item/weapon.

Jack - The right hand of the King and the one in charge of finances and policies in the kingdom. Similar to the Queen, the Jack acts as a sort of counterbalance to the king to ensure too much power isn’t just going to the King. The Jack also acts as the ambassador for their kingdom, when visiting other kingdoms. Like the King and Queen, the Jack has a suit mark with a large ‘J’ somewhere on their body. However, unlike the King and Queen, the suit mark does not appear on the Jack until they’ve proven they are worthy of it. The requirements for this can vary from kingdom to kingdom and even then one Jack’s conditions may be different from another’s. However, once they are fulfilled the suit mark will appear on their body. The Jack cannot be the sole ruler of their kingdom. The Jack also carries around a special magic item/weapon.

Ace - The commander of the kingdom’s army and the personal guard of the king. The Ace is also in charge of monitoring the daily going on’s of the towns in their kingdom. Every so often the Ace is tasked with going into towns to survey the area and talk with the citizens to see if any concerns or issues have arisen. The Ace will then report their findings to the Jack and if there is an issue, the Jack will bring it up to the King and queen at the Court Meeting. Just like the King, Queen and Jack, the ace has a suit mark with a large ‘A’ on it somewhere on their body. An Ace’s suit mark only appears after a new King, Queen and Jack have been chosen. Thus there is a different ace with every new set of rulers.

Joker - No one really knows what a joker's role is. In fact, no one really knows if they even exist. Jokers are shrouded in mystery, only known through myths and legends. In some stories, Jokers were human sorcerers that created the magic items/weapons the King, Queen and Jack carry around. In others, they’re immortal beings that have been around since ancient times watching through every new monarchs reign. The appearance of the Jokers is also unclear. Some say they appear as an elderly parent and a young child. Others say they take the form of a pair of young adults wearing black cloaks. Some say they don’t even look human and instead take the form of faceless spirits. Some don’t even believe the jokers are real. Regardless, it’s always agreed that there are two of them. One that can predict the future and one that can see the past. The Jokers are said to live in the land that is at the center of the four kingdoms.

The Grand Council - A mysterious group of people that are said to reside in the land at the center of all four kingdoms. Similar to the Jokers, no one has ever seen the grand council and are only known through stories and legends. It’s said that there are 16 members of the Grand Council in total, four for each kingdom. The members are also to be immortal beings that may have lived as long as the Jokers. The Grand Council is believed to be the ones who decide who is to be the King, Queen and Jack for all four kingdoms. They do not, however, choose who is to be the Ace or the laws of each kingdom. Depending on their kingdom of origin, the Grand Council can specialize in a variety of different forms of magic and combat.

The Four Kingdoms

Spades - The second largest kingdom out of the four and also known as The Land of Power, Spades is a country widely famous for their excellent military. The queens of Spades in particular are usually known for being exceptional strategists. Spades also has the highest number of educational institutions, both private and public. This includes, the best magic academy in all the four kingdoms. Most mages are from Spades. The Spades Kingdom is located to the west of the Sea of Decks. They also have a long rival history with the Clubs, but they’re mostly on adequate term now a days....mostly.

Clubs - The largest out of the four kingdoms and known as The Land of Luck, Clubs is a country famous for its businesses. Many successful entrepreneurs come from the Clubs Kingdom. The Clubs Kingdom is more rural compared to the other three kingdoms with fewer cities and more towns and villages. Most cities are located close to the capital of Clubs. The Clubs are also known for their agriculture as due to their large amount of land, they have plenty of areas for farming. The Clubs Kingdom is located to the north of the Sea of Decks. They had a long standing rivalry with the Spades Kingdom in the past, but have become tolerant of them in recent decades.

Hearts - The fourth largest of the four kingdoms and known as the Land of Love, Hearts is a country famous for its beautiful landscapes and architecture. While, it's the smallest out of the four kingdoms, it has the largest population out of them. The Hearts Kingdom is a popular tourist destination among citizens of the other kingdoms, especially for couples. Many famous and well known artists and poets are from Hearts. They’re also known for inventions, such as the printing press. Hearts also has the largest army of the four kingdoms. However, they are a rather neutral country and prefer not to be involved with wars, unless necessary. The Hearts Kingdom is located to the east of the Sea of Decks.

Diamonds - The third largest of the four kingdoms and known as the Land of Wealth, Diamonds is a country famous for its fine clothing and textile. Many talented tailors, seamstresses/seamsters, and designers hail from here. The Diamonds Kingdom is the richest of the kingdoms, even owning a few islands off their coast. Their land is extremely rich with natural resources, such as precious minerals and coal. Diamonds is home to many aristocrats. In fact, the population is mainly aristocrats. The Diamond Kingdom is also a neutral country and rarely, if ever, goes to war. The Diamond Kingdom is located south of the Sea of Decks.

The “Center” - A neutral land where the Grand Council and Jokers are said to live. As the name suggests, the “Center” is at the center of the four kingdoms. It’s located in the middle of the Sea of Decks and is surrounded by an ominous mist. The “Center” is a place where many ancient ruins can be found here as well as many different types of creatures. faeries are one of the many inhabitants of this land, however they rarely show themselves before humans. Most faeries dwell near the west side of the land towards the direction of the Spades Kingdom. In the very center of the “Center” surrounded by dense forest, there is said to be a large lake. This lake is said to have healing properties and is able to rejuvenate one’s magic powers. The lake is also said to be where the Grand Council building can be found. Many have ventured into the forests of the “Center” to try and find this lake, but none so far have succeeded. Anyone that wanders into those woods will find themselves hopelessly lost, before eventually ending up right back where they started.

~Personal Headcannons~

* Sooo, I have two scenarios for this Au along with some additional information

* Version 1 is where the four heroes are each a king of one of the four kingdoms. Ren is the king of Spades, Motoyasu is the king of Hearts, Itsuki is the king of Diamonds, and Naofumi is the king of Clubs.

* Ren and Itsuki only have the title of crown prince though, since both are considered too young to rule. While Motoyasu and Naofumi have already been crowned and are acting rulers.

* Motoyasu and Itsuki are “Royal-Born” kings, meaning they are already a part of the royal family bloodline. In this case, they are the offspring of the previous king and queen. Meanwhile, Ren and Naofumi are “Common-Born” kings, meaning they were originally from a low-status family with no previously established connection or relation to the current reigning monarchs.

* Commoner Born kings either take on the last name of the current reigning king by being adopted into the royal family or simply take their queen’s last after the two marry. However, this typically only happens if the king has no living family. Most kings prefer to keep their original family name.

* In version 1, Kizuna is the Queen of Clubs with Glass as the Jack of Clubs and Raphtalia as Ace of Clubs.

* Naofumi and Kizuna are basically in an arranged marriage, but the two get along quite well and are good friends. Plus both already have lovers anyway.

* It’s actually quite common for kings and queens to have lovers on the side, especially in the case of the king and queen being of the same gender.

* L’arc is the first prince of the Kingdom of Clubs and only child to the former king and queen. L’arc was well-liked by the people of Clubs and many had hoped he would be the next king. So, it was quite disappointing when L’arc did not manifest the king suit when he turned 18. It was two years later, when the actual new king appeared.

* Therese is the palace mage that was taken in by L’arc. both she and L’arc are Naofumi’s lovers. While Kizuna is dating Glass behind the scenes.

* I’ll leave who are the Queen, Jack and Ace for the other kingdoms up to ya’ll, I couldn’t think of anyone.

* My second idea is a crossover of my What If? Au Series and @crypid-called-ash’s Sword & Shield Au (if you don’t know go check their tumblr, but it’s basically an Au where Ren is Naofumi biological son).

* In version 2, Naofumi is born as the first prince of the Clubs Kingdom born. His parents are the reigning king and queen and his younger brother is the crown prince. In this version, Naofumi is not the next king of Clubs, instead, the king suit appears on his younger brother on the day of his birth.

* However, on the eve of his 13th birthday, the suit mark of the king of Spades appeared on Naofumi’s hand. This caused quite the uproar among the nobility of both kingdoms. While, It’s not unheard of for a king to not be a native denizen of the kingdom they’re meant to rule, the few times this did happen they were previously always a commoner or country peasant. This was the first time, a king was born as a part of the royal family of another kingdom. This was also the first time Spades had someone from Clubs as their king, queen, or jack. So, needless to say, this turn of events garnered a lot of attention.

* A month later, Naofumi is shipped off to the Spades Kingdom to be prepped to be the next king, much to his younger brother’s dismay. Upon arriving in the Capital of Spades, he is greeted by the current reigning king and queen. The monarchs were surprisingly friendly and welcoming to Naofumi. He knows that Clubs and Shapes have a long history as rivals and don’t have the best relationship even to this day, so it’s surprising to be receiving such a warm welcome. Naofumi was even introduced to the king and queen’s children. The oldest was the first princess, who was only two years younger than him. The middle child was the prince, who was about 9 years old, the same age as Naofumi’s brother. The youngest was the second princess, who was only 5.

* Naofumi spent the next 2 years adjusting to his new life in the Spades Kingdom. During this time, Naofumi became rather close with the prince and princesses of Spades, growing to see them as his younger siblings. The second princess especially had become quite attached to Naofumi despite being wary of him in the beginning. It was around this time that Naofumi also met his ‘fiancee’ and future queen of Spades.

* Her name was Arian Amaki, the only daughter of Duke Amaki. The Amakis are one of the oldest and most influential families in the Spades Kingdom. Many great knights and mages derived from this noble house. Arian, herself, is an excellent fighter with her preferred weapon being a spear. However, She’s also an accomplished violinist, having won several competitions and even attended the best musical academy in Spades.

* Naofumi first met Arian during a ball that was held to celebrate the queen’s birthday. The two were introduced to each other by the king of Spades and Duke Amaki. The two immediately fell for each other.

* About 3 years later, Arian fell pregnant with Naofumi’s child after the two spend a night together...a few nights together actually. Of course, the two got into trouble and the whole affair was a bit of a scandal. However, since Naofumi and Arian were already engaged and of age by this point (Naofumi was 18 and Arian was 19) it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.

* When the child is born, they name him Ren. Naofumi and Arian are officially married with Naofumi taking Arian’s last name and crowned king and queen, a month after Naofumi’s 20th birthday.

* However, after a few years of marriage, Naofumi and Arian gradually fell out of love with each other. The two were still very close, but they no longer had any romantic interest in each other and acted more like best friends, well...Friends with benefits.

* Enter L’arc and Therese. The King and Queen of the Hearts Kingdom along with their Jack Glass and Ace Kizuna.

* The four monarchs first meet each other during the Four Suits Festival, an important 4-day long celebration that commemorates the founding of the four kingdoms. It includes, fairs, parades, pageants, tournaments, and other such festivities. For those of nobility, the most anticipated event of the festival is The Suits Gala, an extravagant ball held on the last 2 nights of the festival. Nobles from all four kingdoms travel to attend this illustrious event. The ball is hosted at the royal palace of the four kingdoms, but it changes hosts every year. That year, it was the Hearts Kingdom’s turn to host.

* Ren was about 4 at the time and doesn’t remember this at all. Arian and Naofumi on the other hand remember it vividly. Basically, at some point during the ball, Ren wandered off while his parents were distracted by the Queen of Diamonds, who was currently taking their ears off. When Naofumi and Arian notice their son was no longer standing by them, they immediately excuse themselves and go looking for him.

* They found him with another young boy, who looked to be around his age with blue hair and jewel-like crimson eyes. That’s when L’arc and Therese enter the picture. The young by turned out to be the crown prince of the Hearts Kingdom as well as L’arc and Therese’s only son. The young Hearts prince has a bad habit of wandering off whenever his parents aren’t looking. So when they noticed their son had dis appeared yet again, they went searching. They didn’t expect to find him with another child and his parents.

* Naofumi and Arian quickly befriend L’arc and Therese, which then turned into something more. (They’ve definitely all slept together)

* L’arc and Therese became something of second parents to Ren and their son was like Ren’s brother and best friend.

* I imagine that Naofumi was teaching Ren about the legendary heroes when they were both summoned to Melromarc. Itsuki and Motoyasu remain the same.

* Ren 100% did not believe the sexual assault accusation that Myne placed against Naofumi. Ren knows his father and he’s never do something so unforgivable. Besides, His mother and Therese are 10x more beautiful than Myne, so she would be a downgrade compared to them.

* Meanwhile, back in their world, the Spades Kingdom was in a panicked frenzy after the disappearance of their king and crown prince. Arian is doing her best to do damage control with the help of L’arc and Therese.

* Ren has a cute sibling relationship with Raphtalia and Filo. Filo is definitely the spoiled little sister, while Raphtalia is the responsible older sister, which is ironic considering Ren is actually older than her XD.

* Ren definitely tries to convince Naofumi to take Filo and Raphtalia back to their world, not that he really needs to. Naofumi already has plans to adopt both of them as his legal daughters.

The chances of Vitale ever wearing this kind of clothing in his actual story is pretty much non-existent, considering the clothing style of Melromarc's era, but I bet I could come pretty close. I just wanted to draw him in a pretty outfit based off Yeonjun's Lullaby concept photos.
