Shane Patrick Lysaght MacGowan (25 December 1957 – 30 November 2023)

Shane was a British-born Irish singer-songwriter and musician best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of Celtic punk band the Pogues.

He also produced solo material and collaborated with artists including Joe Strummer, Nick Cave, Steve Earle, Sinéad O'Connor, Ronnie Drew, and Cruachan.

Frequently noted for his exceptional songwriting ability as well as his heavy alcohol and drug use, MacGowan was described by The New York Times as "a titanically destructive personality and a master songsmith whose lyrics painted vivid portraits of the underbelly of Irish immigrant life.”

Rest in Power.

The band and Shane’s widow, Victoria Mary Clarke, back campaign to finally try and get The Pogues Christmas classic ‘Fairytale of New York’ to number one.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a 2005 open world racing video game, and the ninth installment in the Need for Speed series. In the game, players take part in illegal street races across Most Wanted's setting, utilizing a variety of licensed real-world cars (available at the time of the game's development and release) that can be upgraded and customized with new parts, while contending with the involvement of the police in their efforts to impede the player. Racing events feature a mixture of competitive racing across circuit or point-to-point races, and checkpoint, sprint and drag races. The game features three modes of play - Career, Quick Race, and Challenge Series - with a fourth mode allowing for multiplayer being available to players on certain console editions. While many of the racing events feature those used in previous entries in the games, particularly the Underground set of games, some events - Drifting, Street X, Underground Racing League tournaments and Outrun - are absent from Most Wanted, and replaced with two new ones. The first event is Tollbooth, a checkpoint-styled solo race, in which players must hit a set of checkpoints, each one within a set amount of time; reaching a checkpoint quickly adds the time left over to the timer for the next checkpoint. The second event is Speedtrap, in which players compete in a competitive checkpoint race, and must hit each checkpoint at their fastest speed; upon crossing the finishing line, each checkpoint's total speed is accumulated to determine the winner. Speed accumulated by the player or opponent gets deducted by 10 km/hr after an opponent crosses the finish line first; this is signified by intermittent flashing on-screen until the player (or the other opponent cars) crosses the finish line. Ronnie occupies the third position of the Blacklist after Razor rises to the top of the list. He drives a modified Aston Martin DB9 and his specialty is immobilizing police vehicles. The Aston Martin DB9 is a V12-powered grand tourer coupé that Aston Martin produced between 2004 and 2016. The DB9 has received a few design changes since it entered production. It was altered with a front facelift, a re-designed interior, and minor exterior changes in 2008. It was altered again in 2009 with another minor facelift, but was fitted with new clear LED lights and a set of new standard wheels. In 2013, the DB9 saw another facelift and power increase. In 2016, production of the DB9 ceased and was replaced by the DB11.

Jack was born in Northridge, southern California, and has 63 acting credits from a 1972 episode of The Carol Burnett Show to two 2023 films. Little Children was his first acting credit since 1993.

His other notable credits include a voice on 11 episodes of Wait Till Your Father Gets Home (1972), episodes of The Partridge Family, Marcus Welby MD and The Waltons, The Day of the Locust, The Bad News Bears, The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training, The Bad News Bears Go to Japan, Breaking Away, The Love Boat (two episodes), All the Kings Men, Shutter Island, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Lincoln, The Tick (12 episodes), and Narcos: Mexico (2).

If you ever watch the movie *A bugs life* I can’t help but headcanon Lich’s voice as Hopper cuz he’s a bully and a boss man.😅 especially the last scene where the ants finally are fed up with him and face him for being a tyrant that he is.

That's awesome you have a voice you can hear for Lich. I haven't watched a Bugs Life in a long time, but I liked the movie as a little kid. I can see the parallels with the characters.

Originally, when I first came up with the concept of Lich's character (Can’t even remember what I originally named him. Maybe it was the same name. Can’t remember. Wow…

Either way, Lich's original backstory/ role in a fanfic [I won't name because I wrote it in middle school and it was AWFUL], was very different from what it is now. The plot of the fuc was a ripoff of the movie ,“Heavy Metal” so Ronnie James Dio or Alice Cooper were the two voices I usually associated him with. "The Mob Rules" and "The Black Widdow" are Lich's theme songs.

BUT Kevin Spacey's voice fits Lich very well, now that you pointed it out.

He is oozing with Hopper vibes.

If I had an obscene amount of money to spend, I would hire these voice actors/actresses/ singers (resurrect them from the grave if necessary) to play my ocs and/or Characters from Invader Zim that never officially were assigned hired voice actors.

At least most of my Irken ocs have voices picked out.

Pepperoncini: Sir Christopher Lee (?) Earle Hyman (?) Even those two would have to pitch their voices lower and more gravely. Cini's voice, especially in his later years, is very, VERY deep and ravaged by centuries of smoking pipe amber. I guess the contrast in his bright, lighthearted, bubbly personality amuses me.

I can’t think of a voice that perfectly matches the voice Cini has in my head. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I loosely based his personality on Phyllis Diller and Vincent Price, to give an idea of his mannerisms.

Spinch: Martha Kelly (so shy)

Hoola: Eric Bauza (His personality is based on Daffy Duck, though lacking in WB toon antics and the lisp.)

Mem: Bette Midler (first choice), possibly Kathy Bates or Meryl Streep

Miyuki: I'm sure plenty of people would disagree with me, but I think Cher (or at least a younger Cher), Lynne Lipton (again, younger), or Cree Summer would make great choices for Miyuki.

Kii: Can't get Melissa Fahn's voice out of my head for her, but any suggestions are welcome. Maybe Doro Pesch.

Soxx: Percy Rodriguez (would have to bring him back from the dead)

Hitz: Richard Romanus

Spork: Lorenzo Music (I just do)

Commander Poki: Brooke Dillman (I love that woman's voice. Boss as shit.)

Frylady Soo-Garr: Kristin Chenoweth or Grey DeLisle. Either. Either or would pull off her vindictive personality perfectly.

Pielord Emis-Gee: Ron Funches

Brewmaster Shakkin: Christopher McCulloch

Yeet: Hong Chau (so spunky!)

Vroog: Billie Mae Richards or Maria Bamford for a living person to play her.

Irken Gir would be played by Rosearik Rikki Simons, just no synthesizers or anything.

It started in Frankfurt Germany on 28th April and ended at Knebworth in England on 21st August 1976. An amendment from Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, passed 221-213 to ban the military from providing troops with paid travel leave to receive abortions in states where it’s no longer legal. Another amendment from Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-Mont., passed 222-211 to ban sex reassignment surgery and hormone therapy for transgender troops.[...]

After the amendments passed, Democrats who usually support the defense bill announced that they would now vote against final passage.[...]

An amendment from Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., to impose a blanket ban on all security aid to Kyiv failed 70-358. A narrower provision from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., would have cut $300 million in long-term aid to Kyiv from the bill’s Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. The Taylor Greene amendment also failed 89-341.[...]

The House also voted down 217-198 an amendment from Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., that would have undone the bill’s language restricting the Biden administration’s efforts to retire the B83 megaton gravity bomb, which is 80 to 100 times more powerful than the bomb the U.S. dropped on Hiroshima. Blumenauer’s amendment put him in line with the White House, which released a statement earlier this week asking Congress to remove the B83 language.

Ch196 (p4), The child-whisperer

Apparently, this took more effort on Theo's part than it at first seems. But it's still weird to see how the staff apologizes for "causing a Pomeranian such trouble".

Finny realizes (finally?) that Theo's holding a copy of the Fenian Cycle.

Theo has a way with the younger kids, like Nick, Ginny, and a picky eater named Milly... and the staff has taken notice of it. Theo starts talking a lot like real Ciel here, treating these younger kids as if they are his own siblings, and he has to be the "big brother". Ronnie must be the kid who was sent to real Ciel and Undertaker; apparently, they call this "fledging".

Fledging is a slightly odd term to use here, since it's a reference to a bird's feather and flight muscle development. It would work best here if all the classes were named after birds... instead of dog breeds. But oh well.

He's the oldest now, meaning he should be next to fledge, which I started to suspect when we got spoilers yesterday.

Then he finally notices Snake and Finny.

Doll calling them "friends" makes Theo's eye twitch. Why? What does he think about people associated with Doll? Has he seen quite enough already of people she calls friends? 🤔

A loud bell calls Theo away to his next class, but as he walks past Finny, he says something quite vexing....

"You speak with a beautiful upper-class accent."

Finny is finally starting to realize just how reminiscent of our earl this kid Theo really is. Same clothing style, same reading material, same sort of personality.

And what a loaded compliment! Is he saying he knows Finny and Snake are infiltrating this orphanage based on the way Finny talks? Idk. He definitely has feelings regarding people that Doll calls "friends", and it generally isn't warm fuzzies.

He's very observant and I'm hoping he becomes useful to Finny and Snake. Maybe he has some information about Doll or the Aurora Society members associated with the orphanage. Perhaps Finny and Snake can end up helping him, too....

But the first thing I hope Finny learns from meeting Theo (and Nick) is that all the Pomeranians remind him in some way of our earl and real Ciel. Idk if he will be able to pair up the classes to their corresponding blood types, but I hope he realizes that wherever Pomeranians go when they "fledge" probably has something to do with the blood supply for real Ciel.
