(have seen some really cool paradox pokemon designs floating around and wanted to try imagining one myself ;w;) please say hello to Iron Web, a future paradox Galvantula! a little more info under the cut:
- was originally going to make this a bug/fire type but then i decided to make up a dex entry for it and wanted to make a train reference (yes yes bc of emmet ok ok i’ll be honest 😭)... and since thinking future and high-speed/bullet trains that are powered by electricity... well, electric/fire - (plus electric/fire needs more rep, i think rotom heat is still the only mon with that type combo?) - i didn’t draw it out here, but this thing is also kinda dangerous??? 😳 the appendages(?) coming out from its mouth area have blades that expand out when it’s provoked - also not to mention the boosters on its back, boosters with fire - this thing is lightning fast (heh heh) - will use its boosters for additional speed but will also quickly approach you with those robotic spider legs - oh and also probably a little bit larger than an actual galvantula

PSA from the Alolan rangers
This year, due to unusual cosmic activity, worm holes are going to be frequent, and this corresponds to a predicted rise in ultra beast sightings. The rangers have released information on how to keep yourself safe during the next 8 months until the wormholes die down:
Travel in groups and keep alert. We recommend keeping your pokemon out of their balls if feasible.
Familiarize yourself with the cries of ultrabeasts. [A link to a government website is attached with a soundbank of recorded ultrabeast noises]
If you are deaf or HOH, all service pokemon trained in Alola recently are trained to recognize these sounds, but if you have an older service pokemon or are from out of the region, the Deaf Society of Alola will be happy to loan you a trained pokemon for the duration.
Download the ranger alert app for your rotom dex or rotom phone in case of an encounter or sighting. Remember, it is a $5000 fine for making a false report.
Avoid unnecessary travel during this event. If you are someone who works with wormholes or has travelled through or been very close to one, we recommend leaving the region for the duration if you can or increasing security if this is not an option, due to the likelihood of ultrabeasts approaching you.
Ultrabeasts are frequently startled and confused by their sudden arrival here, and are much more likely to be aggressive or reactive. Do not engage ANY ultrabeast. Avoid eye contact and remain still.
Avoid picking up litter with your bare hands, particularly paper litter that seems folded.
Keep an eye on the skies.
If you find dead wild pokemon that have been drained of fluids, vacate the area immediately.
If you feel dizzy, confused or sleepy, leave the area. Pheremosa may be present. Wear a good quality n-95 mask to provide decent protection.
Avoid power plants if you aren't an employee there. If you are an employee, pay close attention to safety briefings and wear all provided PPE. If your employer is not providing PPE, anonymous reports can be made to the authorities here [A link is provided]
Avoid large forested areas and remain alert for a long, low rumbling noise. Stay away from unexplained wild fires.
Obey all evacuation alerts sent out, and keep a survival kit packed with clean clothes, important documents other necessities. A comprehensive list of essential items can be found at the Alolan governments website.
Avoid coming unto contact with naganadel toxin. This toxin is purple and slightly bioluminescent, with a sharp, bitter smell. It's powerfully adhesive and can quickly cause breathing difficulties. If accidental contact occurs, vinegar has been shown to begin breaking it down. Apply white vinegar to the area and contact emergency services.
Make note of stone walls in your area, and report if new ones appear with no signs of construction workers.
Stay safe and don't be a hero.

Y'know what surprise post it's Otacon time he's on my mind rn (I have had some of the songs I've assigned to him on repeat lately) pokemon au is back!! Og mgs, mgs2 and mgs4
BUT YEAH!! POKEMON!!! he's one of my -if not the- most developed character au-wise in regards to pokemon and teams and things so yuh yuh under cut my insane person rambles
Okay SO we are going by game.
Mgs
- Porygon and Magnemite: Very straightforward the hacker/engineer pokemon duo!! He got them in college. His buddies his pals
- Sobble: actual plot here! It was a gift by Sniper wolf, who had Intelleon as her main pokemon. It is very much like him in the first game (cries and can turn invisible, in this au he got the camo gear idea from Sobble!!) and is perked upon his shoulder always. Also the water type is a sad little connection to the.pool. yeah. Anyways, he leaves it behind after leaving shadow Moses cuz he isn't a crybaby anymore!! Character growth!! The Sobble is okay don't worry about it
- Venonat: in au-lore. Originally assigned cuz I felt they looked alike, also a nocturnal pokemon to accompany him! But it was a pokemon he saved from being attacked by wolf's mightyenas (stand-in for wolves) it helps him sneak around shadow Moses thanks to its enhanced sight!
Mgs2 (now we get more into my own lore)
- Porygon2 and Magneton: Evolved!! Thanks to philanthropy that is, now they battle alongside snake and Otacon and are key helpers in all things electricity. Magneton is especially key in destabilizing electrical power sources
- Patrat (Shiny): Shiny bcs the color scheme felt cuter, but aside from that its here to match the 'eyes in the sky' role Otacon has now. A little sentinel! It keeps guard if accompanying snake or Otacon in missions.
- Swadloon: its all cozy and cooped up like. Like a nerd. But beside that, and it's role in the future (aka MGS4) it's main function is to sew up any torn garments, and helped Otacon make the new sneaking suit.
- Joltik: you know the bug things set to record conversations in spy movies? Make it an actual bug. Also it eats electricity so its a rlly good pal to have on the computer.
- Helioptile: It's actually a power generator!! Solar powered friend and I'd feel it would've been caught while moving around for philanthropy
* Venonat: He's still there!
Mgs4
Porygon2 & Magneton: Same ol' guys
Galvantula, Watchog, Heliolisk, Venomoth: They all evolved! Even if they spend most of their time in the nomad, Otacon took the time to train all of them after Snake's health started deteriorating just in case they needed to protect Sunny.
Leavanny: Honorable and separate mention! The nanny pokemon and it evolves by friendship. Evolved not long after Sunny arrived into his life, as the pokemon category implies, it takes care of Sunny as well!! Main caretaker whenever Snake and Otacon need some backup in that regard
Rotom: you know Rotom dex? Think metal gear Rotom... Rotom gear. But it's the mk.II instead. Rotom powered! The little dude also helps with every day appliances with it's usual forms
Beheeyem: It matches his sleeker, cooler look. That concept art with the coat? It's the cooler nerd pokemon
Porygon-Z: Used to be Emma's, and it ends up being the last puzzle piece in FOXALIVE in this au. She gave it to him before, y'know, spoilers but dying and all dat!
Well that's it!! I love Otacon he's so me I'm so him. Nerds with big glasses... Hopefully if I get the energy I'll do more deep dives like these but tbh for Snake his team is p static. Whatever !!! Ty guys for listening gn !!

Note
I apologize for the likely many spelling errors but. Show-Stopper pokemon vibe check.
-
Alomamola; Looks like a lovedisk evo. Used as a heavy support. is a ""Romantic"" pokemon that tries to help which idk why that's what my brain defaulted to but it is
Rotom; Rotom in lore are little shits. Just straight up. Also imagine it could be a rotom that's normally in his pokedex? And be similar to SM/USUM's rotomdex? Aka a fren. But either way this is about when they are Not in the 'dex if at all, and in those cases they're a support primarily, knocking shit off of people (removing held item on target pokemon) and then leaving (volt switch).
Sylveon; He got a frien he took care of and they eventually evolved....
More specifically, Sylveon is 1) a friendship evo, but in order to get Sylv instead of Espeon or Umbreon, Eevee needs a fairy type move. Eevee can learn Alluring Voice, which is a move that is 1) fairy type and 2) described as the attacker using an angelic voice and 3) if the target raised their stats that turn, they'll 100% get confused by the attack. So my brain went "oh so he's confusing them the moment they start to understand wtf is going on for five seconds".
Also has Pixilate, Sylveon's hidden ability, instead of the normal Cute Charm because he gets no bitches
Crobat; One of the shinies! shiny purely for the aesthetic. also has hidden ability, infiltrator, because. criminal. also because this man has no "Inner Focus" and can be intimidated (Inner Focus is the normal ability, which prevents the 'mon from being affected by Intimidate and flinches) also also friendship evo of a pokemon that are often considered annoying flying pest...
Also has a max power Return, as return does more damage the higher a trainer's friendship is with the Pokemon. 102 base power at max.
Confuse Ray because it felt legally obligated
Whirlwind because it throws the target 'mon out and forces a switch which just feels fitting to me ?
Covert Cloak because. Covert....Covert Criminal.......
Hoopa; You mentioned them in the PMD au and needed to. specifically bound because the bound version is just a silly little guy. hoopa's only ability is magician, which will have Hoopa take a pokemon who they attack's item when they have none. Which. this silly little guy has a berry they can eat <3
Physic Noise because i just find it funny to imagine, since it prevents the target from healing for 2 turns. presumably due to the noise. that just feels incredibly funny to me.
phantom force has the user disappear for one turn before attacking. any and all "disappear before attacking" moves feel very Show-Stoppercore
Substitute because it's. a substitute that gets the user outta harms way.
foul play because foul play hehoha
Mr. Ryme; one you mentioned them two another shiny it fits aestheticly to me
Screen Cleaner just felt funny (when the holder hits the field, all screens [reflect/aura veil/light screen] all vanish, from both sides)
Mostly just a normal Mr. Ryme besides Future Sight, a move that after being used hits the target 2 turns later. Plus an Occa Berry, because that turns a super effective fire-type move into functionally a normal-effective hit. like it just feels fitting since like Ha You Thought That Was Super Effective And Would Kill, But No! yknow?
Hydrapple; Pollen Puff, when used against opponents, is a 90 base power move. tends to hurt. but with allies it heals them instead,,
Recover just. Is Recover. self healing.
Regenerator ability because it heals when the 'mon leaves the field which like...criminal who runs off and comes back "stronger" but less Stronger and more just. ready to continue romance scheming. fickle beam has a 30% chance to attack twice and i just think thats funny for Show-Stopper. Syrup Bomb lowers the target's speed once at the end of each turn for 3 turns (don't quote me on this im. head in hands rn.)
Balcephaon; Air Balloon. its another occa berry thing air balloon prevents the user from being affected by ground type moves until hit with a contact move wherein it pops. so. hehoha you thought you could kill with a super effective move but no im immune! FUCK FALLING DOWN TO THE GROUND I HAVE BEEN HARMED (BALLOON POPPED)
Otherwise just your typical trickery things. taunt. foul play. knock off. but also mind blown because that's the silliest thing you can do! explode your head and take 50% of your HP :D!
Meowascarada; Flower trick always crits, and so avoids attack drops on himself/defense raises on his target. Facade does double damage when burned/poisoned/paralyzed. u-turn to escape. sucker punch for priority murder.
Liepard; 1) You said it's your favorite like 2-3 years ago 2) i saw liepard got a move called SKITTER SMACK and needed to. plus prankster ability, fake-out, choice scarf trick and sucker punch.
Cofagreus; The final shiny! for the aesthetic!! they're just a silly little guy...Also another favorite, except unhinged now. maybe haunted Show-Stopper for shits and giggles. silly guy.
klefki; little. shit. takes your fucking keys.
Zoroark; Legally obligated! illusionist dog fox thing...Toxic Poisons you and then runs away.
Sneaslar; Fucking flings a gold nugget at you (for max power, if i remember correctly), gets doubled speed due to Unburden ability (activates when you lose your held item), then gets double powered acrobatics because no more held item. Also can poison your ass.
IM SSO HONORED THAT YOU PUT SO MUCH THOUGHT INTO THEM??? THANK YOU??? ALSO GOSH GOTTA LOVE EM,,
I like to think he has them all its just his way of "storing them" is just keeping them at his abandoned little theater
Love the addition of alolamola, he hopes the love pokemon esk one will get the point across (he also just likes it keeps it with his luvdisk often. Luvdisk has a giant tank alolamola is a nice friend for it)
He probably has the ghosts and others cuz he IS in an abandoned theater, probably came woth the house and he took care of em cuz like... Why wouldnt he, he stole their house and roommated himself/lh HFGJGCHJ, maybe its where the cofagrigus, crobat, rotom, klefki and damn maybe even the dark types came from the theatre
he absolutely had a sprigatito eevee and mime jr when growing up and things happened
Sneasler just appeared like some mother cat and wouldnt leave him alone cuz he looks like some fucked up beast (help him)/j
he has been poisoned at least twice
He accidentally found a balcephaon and they bonded over Clownliness, he is fucking horrified everytime its head explodes and fusses over it
I still think the idea he stole the bottle and caused some shit only to then gain the hoopas attention and respect somehow is very funny, loser befriends small hoop man against his will because it likes to harrass him
Also ingeneral going feral the idea of Show stopper seeing zubats as kin enough because he too is seen as a nuisense, so hes just... nice to it ofc why wouldnt he be its a beast in a world too.
Andoh fuck its a Big Bat that loves him now....
he ffound a worm in an apple felt bad for it cuz Yeah He UnderstandS That it evolved hes so prlud it evolved again theres 7 Now He needs to steal more stuff to help feed all these guys.......
He also doesnt realize any of them are shinies. Thehre just guys to him. He doesnt realize his bat rime or coffin are special because theyre already special to him
Shakes these thank you you have made my illness over my own oc worse/pos/aff/lh VBNAHVBJ
Adore how you vibe checked him thinking about this now

Can we just talk about how flawed the Rotom Phone is?
The concept of a Rotom taking over something like a cell phone and converting it into a Pokédex/map sounds pretty cool on paper. But when it comes to execution, there is a lot to be desired.
You’re telling me that you designed a Pokémon cell phone and prevented the player from actually using any of the call functions? Besides acting as the Galar region’s Pokédex, the Rotom Phone also serves as a plot device by allowing several characters to call and inform you about different events in Sword and Shield’s story. But, it’s just that. A plot device (no pun intended). We could have had a successor to the Poké Nav. A way for the players to learn more about certain characters and even challenge them to a rematch for extra experience and money. But all of that is completely thrown out the window in favor of expositions.
Another thing that bugs me about the Rotom Phone is that it’s a Rotom Phone. The Sun and Moon series had the Rotom Dex which was basically the most coolest thing ever. It wasn’t just a Pokédex. It had a Rotom (a living being) powering it. And being a living thing, it had its feelings and attitude. It wasn’t afraid to speak what was on its mind and talked to you constantly. It wasn’t just a Pokédex, it was also a makeshift camera, map, and a friend who followed you along on your adventure. The Rotom Phone is built-up as a successor to the Rotom Dex in the fact that there is also a Rotom that powers it. However, it doesn’t feel like a successor to the Rotom Dex. The Rotom Phone may be powered by a Rotom. But it’s just a machine. It doesn’t talk to you, it doesn’t have any emotion or character. All it does is give information on Pokémon, act as a map, and do things that a regular cell phone can do. The anime doesn’t help things either since Team Rocket also gets a Rotom Phone and it actually has a personality. It’s sleazy, lazy, quick to judge, funny, and feels more alive than the kid’s Rotom Phones. (Why does Ash always have to get the short end of the stick in this series?)
If you want a better version of the Rotom Phone (that isn’t the one owned by Team Rocket), look no further than the Rotomi:
Tumblr media
It’s the PC for the Sword and Shield versions and has more personality than the Rotom Phone ever will. How is it that the computer that you’ll mostly use in Pokémon Centers has more character than the device you use throughout the majority of the game? Just another sign of how Sword and Shield were handled in such a poor way.
You want to know what’s so sad about this? We could’ve actually seen MORE of the Rotomi in the game. (And in turn, receive a better Rotom Phone.) This graphic was discovered in an early prototype for Sword Version showing a Rotom with a particularly feminine appearance:
Tumblr media
The Rotomi also has some feminine aspects to it. (In both its appearance and the way it talks.) It’s possible that THIS was the Rotom Phone we would’ve gotten had the developers not scrap it. They probably liked this version too much to scrap it entirely and reworked it into being the PC for the Sword and Shield versions. (Probably not. But it’s still a fun speculation!)
From where it stands, the Rotom Phone is a flawed feature in Pokémon Sword and Shield that had so much potential, but ultimately became just a new Pokédex model and a losuy plot device (no pun intended ((again))). It also shows that Sword and Shield could’ve been better games if Game Freak were given more time to work on it.

ok so I promised a friend I’d start OCposting on main so here we fuckin go Starting off with my two Reborn run OCs: Lucy and Kyr Lucy/”Lux Calamitas” (she/her): A fire/grass/dark specialist from Alola, she has a phantom thief aesthetic and a “light and dark” motif in her pokemon. She’s actually from the Ultra Megalopolis in ultra space, and found her way to Alola after the eldritch horror tormenting them was defeated and subsequently taken in by a ten year old with pokemon she had never seen before. Seized with the desire to understand how some kid had unstoppable cosmic power at their fingertips, she found a wormhole and flung herself through it. Team Skull’s remnants were the first people to find her in Alola, and they’re the source of her more...dubious skills.
She often thinks of them fondly, but she needed to keep moving to try and find stronger challenges. She was...mostly just fucking around until she got to reborn. She’s done a lot of finding out since then. She talks a big game and plays up her character bit as the phantom thief “Lux Calamitas” whenever she's doing something daring and/or illegal, but really she’s just winging it and is constantly terrified that the other shoe is gonna drop and she’ll lose one of the people she’s now grown attached to.
The “light” side of Lucy’s team is a pretty standard sun setup, with her Ninetales Ameterasu as a setter and mons like Typhlosion and Liligant (and Haxorus under Rainbow/Crystal Cavern) as abusers, but the “dark” half is a vague collection of darkly-themed mons like Silvally, Rotom, and her ace, the Honchkrow “The Bad News”. Her battle style is to throw her foes off their rythym and then steal the match before they recover, using disruption with Taunt and Grassy Terrain, combined with powerful sweepers, Chlorophyll or otherwise. She has to basically redo her team for the E4 (since one of them bans weather), going for more of a starlight/space theme, with mons like Mega-Metagross and Naganadel (yes I am in dex hell thanks for asking) -----------------
ALRIGHT that’s it for character profile 1/2, next post is gonna be the ice/dragon closet furry punk, Kyr!

kicking my feet reading other ppl's yirs so. for the funs & giggles, satoshi's year in review:
started the year off strong by resuming travels across kanto after resigning from sakuragi's institute
pretty much immediately ran across an injured latias & befriended it upon helping it recover, who then proceeded to follow him around ala guardian angel, later helped it save its latios sibling from a hunter
reunited with kasumi & takeshi on the road, resumed traveling with them
reunited with a lot of his old roster over the course of travels & teamworked to save the days
put up with the rocket trio. a LOT.
returned to masara, hemmed & hawed over "what next", came to grips with the realization that he no longer cares about titles so much as the battles themselves & befriending as many pokémon as possible
started learning sign languages for languages he already speaks
headed out to his third attempt at the indigo champion's league
helped a shiny absol stop a forest fire on his way to the plateau
won the league this time
immediately declined the title of champion, let lance keep it
a visit to alola turned into an early summering due to paranoia reasons
deep-dove into aether's history & files, & thanks to rotom-dex not knowing the meaning of "confidential" has access to maybe too much
got a reality check about the overinflated importance of pokémon leagues
got a whole lot more involved with the league in re alola
started learning alolan
petitioned with kukui & the league to start plans for a new alola league stadium, took inspo from pasio & commissioned an artifical island for the replacement
trained his ass off in prep for the year's alola league
got back in touch with the doc that helped arrange his top surgery & arranged a travel-friendly setup for satoshi to start hrt once he was back on the road again
took in a starving hitomoshi, let it feed off his life-force a bit too much, died first thing in the morning one day Because of this & spent the whole day un-dying in his loft
developed his aura powers more, found a sparring partner in hau
caught a cherinbo
his mijumaru evolved into a futachimaru
narrowly defended his champion title against ree
saw the start of the manalo stadium project & entrusted ree with an internship as part of management to give them experience with league work
resumed traveling anywhere & everywhere
ran into that same shiny absol from earlier in the year & caught it
battled a whole fuckload throughout the year
has continued training his ass off in preparation for the next pokémon world championships

In an earlier post you said that Cyrus was like Volo in that he was far kinder than he let on. Can you explain what you mean by that? I’m curious since I always put Cyrus up there in the “big bad” category of Pokémon antagonist in comparison to the others that mean to do well but just go about it in the wrong way.
First off, the fact that he has a Crobat is a sign that he DOES care, because Golbat only evolves through max friendship. (side note: apart from the Togepi line, Volo ALSO has Lucario and Roserade, which also have friendship-based evos - Budew to Roselia and whatnot)
Then, in the Rainbow Rocket episode in USUM, out of all the others, Cyrus is the one who starts to reconsider, because of your Rotom Dex...because it reminds him of the first Pokemon he befriended. (there's an old notebook that contains a passage about a child befriending a Rotom and hugging it once it entered their toy robot - heavily implied that Cyrus was the one to write it). He then promise he won't remove spirit from this world to the Rotom Dex and begins to wonder if his goal was wrong.
Which does have the implication that he COULD very well turn the world he came from back to how it was. He might've done it all, because of his emotionally abusive upbringing (that his grandfather regrets not interfering when he had the chance), but he has a lot more emotion to him than he refuses to acknowledge. Showing that he does care, and he does have the capacity to change.
He is far kinder than he lets on, because no matter how hard he tries, he is not as emotionless as he thinks. That doesn't excuse his actions, but when we've seen the ways Ghetsis went about things, including the Hydreigon that fucking HATES him and has a Frustration power at maxed (again, the less a Pokemon likes you, the more powerful the move)...
The details are telling.

Pokemon Card of the Day Schedule: Sun & Moon
While there will be a good bit of going back through the oldest cards around here coming up, weekdays will still feature cards from more recent sets. Sun & Moon was the first set of Gen 7, unsurprisingly, and brought with it new mechanics. Pokemon-GX was the big one, which were 2-Prize Pokemon like Pokemon-EX but also had a GX-move. Said moves were typically very strong, but you were limited to one use per game for your entire team. They were the TCG’s answer to Z-moves. The other difference between Pokemon-GX and Pokemon-EX were that Pokemon-GX could be Evolved Pokemon and not just Basic Pokemon. The Evolved ones tended to have more HP to work with. Of course, if you’ve been here for a while you probably know about these, as Pokemon-GX were relevant in formats including many of the XY era’s sets.
Sun & Moon is also notable here as it was the earliest set that wasn’t rotated out after Worlds in 2018, meaning that it was available for 2019′s SUM-On format. Said format was most notable for the new Tag Team Pokemon-GX, which showed up near the end of the format. These were powerful, very bulky Basic Pokemon that featured 2 (or occasionally 3) Pokemon. They gave up 3 Prizes but some were so good that they ended up dominating the game. You’ll see some references to these as well.
As for the Sun & Moon set itself, any set that brought a new mechanic and had the standard power creep of a new generation was going to change things quite a bit. Decidueye-GX was a very popular Pokemon since it place damage counters from the Bench each turn, though it was probably a bit overrated (though still quite good!) Vikavolt provided Energy to various Lightning- or Grass-type attackers, or sometimes just attacked on its own. Espeon-GX simply provided a good Psychic-type attacker to work with. Tauros-GX could be a big problem for any deck that couldn’t KO it. These are just a few examples, and there were also several new and returning Trainer cards to consider. It was a pretty good set, and marked another change in the game.
Pinsir Decidueye-GX Lurantis-GX Shiinotic Tsareena Torkoal Incineroar-GX Golduck Lapras-GX Primarina-GX Vikavolt Alolan Muk Espeon-GX Lunala-GX Gigalith Passimian Alolan Raticate Alolan Persian Umbreon-GX Skarmory Solgaleo-GX Kangaskhan Tauros-GX Gumshoos-GX Oranguru Big Malasada Crushing Hammer Energy Retrieval Energy Switch Exp. LO Characters as Pokemon Trainers: The Nymphs
The Nymphs teams are based on LO, and their origins in greek mythology. Anything else is pure fanfiction. Please enjoy.
Daphne
Tumblr media
Her Bayleef, Bloom has been with her since birth as the two were born in the same field. The two are extremely close. Bloom has hated Apollo ever since she first met him. Literally attacking him with razor leaf and vine whip when the two first met. Apollo has avoided Bloom at all cost ever since. The pokemon Bayleef gets it named after bay leaves which are part of the laurel tree family. The tree which she turns into in the original myth. Her Bellossom, Bella was given to her as an Oddish by Persephone when both Persephone and Daphne were children. Persephone later gave Daphne a Sun Stone to evolve Bella from a Gloom into Bellossom. As Gloom smell bad and Persephone knew it would hurt Daphne to have to leave Bella behind when Daphne left to start her carrear. Bella is always seen dancing on Sprouts its sings. The two are close as they have been with Daphne the longest. Bella evolved from a Sun Stone that Persephone gave her. Bella spied on Daphne's and Apollo's date's in order to protect Daphne as Bloom could not. Bella has also appeared in some of Daphne's photoshoots. Her Frosmoth, Silk a gift from Thanatos as he is associated with moths or butterflys. Silk is often mistaken for a beautiful bow as she loves sit on Daphne's head. Pumpkin, her Pumpkaboo initially was in the care of Thanatos. Thanatos cared for Pumpkin, but feared people would think he was getting soft so he gave Pumpkin to Daphne. Although Echo thinks it was just so he had an excuse to visit Daphne. Her Finneon and Goldeen are a reference to orignal origins as a water nymph.
Echo
Tumblr media
Echo is ace is obviously Chatter, her Chatot who often repeats what is ever said around him. Daphne calls Chatter, Echo Jr or Echo's shadow as the two are never far a apart. Something useful as Chatter repeats Hera's commands in order for Echo not to miss a word her mistress speaks. Hera has mixed feelings toward Chatter as realizes he is useful, but he also never shut up. So she is on the fence about him. Her ditto, Daffodil, is a reference to Narcissis the man fell in love with, but was more in love with her own reflection. Her Vaporeon, Vapor can literally become one with water. Another reference to Narcissisus. Her Misdeavous, is known for mimicing people. Her Gogoat, Fauna and Pikapek, Reed were both gifts from the God, Pan, who loved her. She also has Audino, its just not on her team.
Aetna
Tumblr media
Aetna has only had 3 apparences so far, but her team will definetly leave an impact. Half her team is based on her appearence in LO, while the other half is base on her portray in Greek mythology.
Hephaetus gifted her Rotom, Virus and her Porygon Z, Update. As he was worried she was lonely being limited to the web. Technically Aetna recieved Update through trading a Hepheatus another Rotom, but that was just done so she would have a Porygon with better graphics. Charjabug makes sure the computers she uses stay powered even during blackouts. Her Octillery, Palikoi, is known for hitting enemies with blasts of hot water. He is named after the greek god of geysers and hot springs. Depending on the myth on Aetna is the mother or grandmother of Palikoi the greek god of geysers and hot springs. Stakataka, an Ultrabeast looks like a building come to life is reference to Mount Aetna which shares her name. According to greek mythology Zeus threw Mt. Aetna on top of father of monsters Typhoon. According to pokemon canon Ultrabeast are not legendary as there more than one of each as they come. Her Camerupt, Mountain is another reference to Mount Aetna.
Thetis
Tumblr media
When I said Zeus had a type well Thetis is the secound mistress of his that has a Malamar as her one of her Aces. Thetis is no where near Leto's level, but she is still a master manipulator. Manipulating both Zeus and Minthe. Her Malamar, Malice will do whatever it takes to get what it wants. Even framing Thetis' other pokemon in order to remain on top of Thetis' team. That being said it is still number two Thetis' true Ace, Yuki-Onna, the Frosglass. Its Moon dex entry explains its spot on Thetis' team "The soul of a woman lost on a snowy mountain possessed an icicle, becoming this Pokémon. The food it most relishes is the souls of men." Beautiful, yet vicious nature of Thetis's Yuki-Onna makes it easy to understand why the pokemon is her ace. Jaws, her Sharpedo, was a gift from her parents as Thetis is a water nymph who always had men after her. Her Leipard, Leila hates that it is third place in Thetis' team. It is well known that Thetis' Liepard considers Hera's Persian its rival. Something that Hera's Persian seems indifferent too which just makes Liepard angrier.Gossip, her Nickit often helps her steel Zeus' phone, when Thetis wants to hurt Hera.
Leila and Gossip happen to be friends. As Gossip will help steal food for Leila while Leila protects Gossip from getting attacked by Thetis' other pokemon. Her Huntail, Glow, was from a trade that went wrong. Zeus was susposed to trade her Clamperl with a Deep Sea Scale so she would have a Gorebyss. Instead it was holding a Deep Sea Tooth and evolved into a Huntail. Wierdly enough Jaws and Glow are close friends and help keep each other safe from the infighting within Thetis' team.
Minthe
Tumblr media
As master manipulator of men from Thanatos to Hades it makes sense her main ace would share the same skill. Salazzle rules over the male salandit and destroys any female who threaten her rain. Her Salazzle, Sass is just vicious as her trainer. Most people in Underworld corps think its fiting that one of Minthe's ace is Gorebyss. As it's pokedex entry states "Although Gorebyss is the very picture of elegance and beauty while swimming, it is also cruel. When it spots prey, this Pokémon inserts its thin mouth into the prey's body and drains the prey of its body fluids." Her Gorebyss, is named Siren. Ironically Siren was gift trade from Hades who traded to her a magickarp in order to make it evolve. Minthe literally drains the life of those around her be it Thanatos or Hades. She uses her beauty to bring them in before draining them completely. Her preference for poisin types continues with her Dragalge, and her Victreebel. Her Carnivine was gift from Thanatos who wanted to impress her. It did not work. Her Poliwag was gift from her family and her only connection to time as simple water nymph. It is also where Hades got his pet name, tadpole from as Poliwag is the tad pole pokemon.
Nymphs are done. Who is next, but the most feared beingings in LO, the Titans.

Finding Answers and Stopping Threats
@another-bloody-multimuse
Diana fought off a yawn as she held her Rotom-dex to her ear, hoping he would answer.
Ever since she became champion, all Diana wanted to do was catch up on all the sleep she missed during the island challenge. She never regretted taking the challenge, even with all the trials and troubles from both Team Skull and the Aether Foundation. Becoming the first champion of Alola felt like a dream come true, and one step closer to what she wanted. But no one told her that sometimes being strong came with a price.
Diana didn’t mind helping Lillie get her mother back. She didn’t mind stopping Necrozma. The way she saw it-if she didn’t do something, who would? She genuinely wanted to help. And in those cases, they had good outcomes. After sharing the power of the Z crystals to Necrozma, the Pokémon was finally strong enough to not rely on the light of other worlds. It was almost tempting to catch the creature, but what good would it do? Necrozma would just spend his life in the PC, and that definitely wasn’t fair to her or to it. Necrozma gave her a dark crystal in return before it left for another world, almost like it had sensed her kindness and promised itself as an ally.
Even with Team Skull, it seemed that she had found an ally in Guzma and Plumeria. Maybe they weren’t exactly friends yet, but they certainly weren’t enemies either. They had reached a mutual understanding at the very least.
But then things started to change.
The first day after the championship, she was dragged out of bed by Hau to help Zossie and Dolse capture some Ultra Beasts. Again, not a big issue. They would have created havoc on the island if she didn’t do something. Today, she was dragged out by Sophocles, who needed help regaining control of Festival Plaza from some thugs calling themselves Team Rainbow Rocket. Not an issue there either; they were easy to beat. Diana had even returned home with the intention of a nap, when her mom called her over to watch the Aether Foundation press conference. That’s when things really went to hell when someone or something took over the broadcast, and seemingly took over Aether Foundation. Lillie had come over to announce that she was heading over, and she ran out before Diana could utter out a warning or a request to join.
But she had a bad feeling about all of this. She felt like she wasn’t going to be able to handle this alone. Waiting for a Charizard to pick her up, she called someone she figured she could trust.
“Come on, Guzma! Pick up!” She muttered.

Hi Peach I have one for you about dealing with Dex stereotyping + misinformation. I have had my large Gourgeist for years and recently she came trick or treating with me and my kids. One of my neighbors about lost her mind saying that it was 'poor parenting and so dangerous to have her in the home with my children'. This is the same pokemon who sung my oldest lullabies when he was a tot! She has never once showed aggression and never once acted like her pokedex entry. What should we do?
In short? Ignore them haha! Honestly nosey people can think what they like, in the end you, your kids, and your Pokemon are safe, that’s all that matters. Expending energy on people’s negativity is a choice, you don’t have to always expend effort to try to fix those who are resistant to change. Save some of that energy for yourself, your kids, your life, this doesn’t sound like a battle worth fighting, unless she’s threatening something stupid like calling child protection services because of it. If it gets to that then call a local professor to come represent you, they’ll put some sense into her in the space of a day.
Annoyingly the Dex can be taken too seriously, they aren’t built for adults as such, nor are they really as informative as they could be. They act as an encyclopaedia for youngsters with short, concise descriptions built around myths, facts, and folk lore, making the information in them memorable and interesting to a younger individual just discovering a ‘new’ species for the first time. That being said, the dex page’s fill themselves in, meaning the data is preprogrammed, already known. This is all based on old tech, newer rotom powered devices offer much wider pools of information and constantly learn, updating as the trainer goes, I don’t suppose that woman was brought up with a dex like that in her day, they’re pretty new.
We offer classes for those who need to learn there’s more to Pokemon than they first thought, but it takes cooperation for people to want to take them, so they may not be the best option for your acquaintance. She was quick to assume, and I am so sorry that the system did her dirty like that, leading her to believe childish notions over stone cold fact. If that Pokemon wanted you or your family hurt, it’d have done something by now. There isn’t a Pokemon species out there incapable of affection, they all have the vast spectrum of emotions, even if they show it a little different to us sometimes.
She may as well have cursed you for having kitchen knives in the house BECAUSE THEY ARE MURDER WEAPONS or something backwards.

Pokemon Theory/Speculation
I feel like Pokemon are pretty much trickster gods? Like, Arceus just created a bunch of big gods (Mew and all that mess) and then decided to make a bunch of regular Pokemon that would mentally and physically bend and morph to their will.
Alright, I've not played Arceus because I have a rule of only playing mainline Pokemon games with new Pokemon. Nothing against the spinoffs, I just prefer certain titles. I might get Arceus, though. Oh, and spoilers for pretty much...everything and nothing? You'll see why.
Tumblr media
Time for me to ramble like this man about kids games for the 50th time because I have nothing to do with my life.
They, like all Pokemon, came from the Pokemon Dungeons universe/dimension, first. Then, he was curious. He and his main creations decided to open up to see what else there was to the world, and found the main Pokemon universe.
They're intrigued, but there's both Pokemon and...some strange bipedal creatures, too. They're very interested in these creatures. So, like before, he takes humans from the Human World (or our world I guess) and plunges them into the ancient world. Occasionally, they accidentally pull in humans from the future and puts them in a timeline wayyy before they're supposed to exist. Oops. But later on, Arceus figures out a way to peruse the timeline comfortably, easily and cleanly. Now, they can see them all. They can manipulate the humans, give them gifts, even take them for a ride if they want. Killing them? Eh, it's an option, but the final option if anything.
The Arceus phone? Mock electricity, most likely. Or pure electricity; Arceus has those magic plates including Electric-type, so they are either very good with every typing or is the origin of every type. They are one of the first Pokemon, they probably have the power to make pretty much anything. Hell, it's probably made out of the same matter that Rotom is made out of, they're probably the purest form of Electric types since they can fit into anything without short-circuiting what they're possessing. It might even be a prototype to the Rotom Dex!
Everything that happens in Pokemon mythology plays out in this new world. Some of the mythical Pokemon get too cocky in this new world since it's technically not theirs, which Arceus dislikes greatly because they don't want this new world ruined. They're interested in how their small influence will affect this world. Even if some Pokemon go extinct in this world, they have more in their origin world so it's fine. They can always make more if things get dire.
They are just so interested in how this will play out.

i kinda feel like making my own versions of what the gym leaders/elite 4 teams should’ve been in the remakes since bdsp really said
Tumblr media
regarding the platinum dex expansions (and also i’m too burned out to actually write replies today)
Roark: Bonsly - Onix - Cranidos Roark’s team isn’t bad by any means I just wanted to give him something Different(tm) so his team isn’t an almost perfect match for Brock and Roxanne
Gardenia: Grotle - Cherrim - Roserade Gardenia’s team does show off a whole lot of Sinnoh Grass-types but I evolved her Turtwig because she’s in the early 20s
Fantina: Drifloon - Haunter - Mismagius I’m conflicted about this one because I like the addition of Duskull on her Platinum team but Drifblim is way too iconic to pass up and I didn’t want to give her 4 Pokémon when she’s already the hardest Sinnoh gym leader
Maylene: Meditite - Croagunk - Machoke - Lucario Yeah this makes her super weak to Psychic but Maylene deserves one more Pokémon, as a treat
Wake: Gyarados - Quagsire - Azumarill - Floatzel Again this one wasn’t in high demand or anything and I just felt like giving him something extra but Huge Power Azumarill would be hilarious on a wrestler’s team
Byron: Bronzong - Magnezone - Steelix - Bastiodon I just combined both of his canon teams and evolved all of his Pokémon because literally every starter in Sinnoh is good against Byron he needs something so he’s not just cannon fodder
Candice: Abomasnow - Sneasel - Piloswine - Jynx - Froslass I made Abomasnow the lead so she can use Hail shenanigans and also added Jynx because BDSP made the Smoochum line available in-game so I’m gonna do something with that
Volkner: Jolteon - Raichu - Luxray - Rotom-Frost - Electivire Rotom just makes sense for Volkner and I had to give him something so that he doesn’t get bodied by literally any Ground-type, it looks a bit goofy but the other option was Pachirisu
The Elite Four teams in Platinum are okay and I don’t really need to change them but if I had to, this is what I would do
Aaron: Yanmega - Vespiquen - Scizor - Heracross - Pinsir - Drapion Like Candice, this isn’t a change that was in particularly high demand, but since BDSP saw it fit to make Pinsir available in Sinnoh who am I to pass that up
Bertha: Hippowdon - Whiscash - Golem - Gliscor - Mamoswine - Rhyperior Grandma Must Kill (she also gets revenge on Cynthia for using the most badass gen 4 Ground-type)
Flint: Rapidash - Flareon - Houndoom - Infernape - Rotom-Heat - Magmortar There was literally no other option but at least it matches Volkner’s team
Lucian: Espeon - Mr. Mime - Alakazam - Bronzong - Girafarig - Gallade Give Him The Funky Horse
Cynthia: Spiritomb - Roserade - Milotic - Togekiss - Lucario - Garchomp No changes are necessary because she is already perfect

Fic;; This Will Get Better, ch. 7 - Rotomdex
Chapter content warnings: none
Word count: 3500
Chapter Summary: Having cleared the first Trial with ease, Mustard gives the students of the Master Dojo and its guests a few hours before starting the next one. In that time, Sarah decides to update her Pokedex, and meets Hyde, the son of Honey and Mustard. When everyone comes back for lunch, Mustard announces what the next trial is!
(Fic Masterpost)
-------------------------
Mustard announced that there would be a short pause before the second trial. I decided to take the time to look into getting my Pokedex updated. I didn't need it to be upgraded to a full, complete transfer over to a new device-- in fact, I hated that idea. I wanted to update the information in mine with that of Galar's, so that I'd know about any other regional variant Pokemon, like those three Slowpoke from earlier. I was going to need at least that much while we stayed here and trained.
“Do you know if there's any way that I can update my Pokedex while I'm here?” I asked Miss Honey. “Those Slowpoke didn't respond to Pika's Thunderbolt like I expected, and if we're going to be here for a month, I'd like to be able to know more about the local Pokemon.” While I spoke, I dug my Pokedex out of my bag, one that dated over 20 years old. I saw the surprise on Honey's face and let out an annoyed sigh, expecting yet another comment about its age. “I know, I know, it's old, but I've been able to keep it upgraded; the insides are far more up to date and have more memory than the original model did. Honestly, this is just a shell, but it's the same shell that I've had since I started out as a trainer.”
“Why... That's amazing that you've managed to keep it functioning after all this time!” The unexpected praise caused my face to warm up. “I wouldn't know how to upgrade that myself, but if there's anyone on the Isle of Armor that could, it'd be my son Hyde!”
“Hyde?” I tried to think back on everyone that I had met so far. No one introduced themselves with that name, and no one had said anything about being Honey and Mustard's child, either. She must have caught my confused look and nodded, as though remembering something.
“Yes, of course. You haven't had a chance to meet him yet-- he doesn't like to come out of his room often, and prefers to play with his inventions instead. If you go over here...” Honey pointed me towards his room. “...you'll probably find him inside.”
I went down the path she pointed, until I found a nameplate that said “Hyde”. I knocked on the closed door; there was no immediate response. I thought about knocking again when the door opened, and I had to look down to see a small child, maybe around age 8 or 9, looking up at me with an almost condescending face.
“What do you want? I'm kind of busy right now, so make it quick.”
“Oh, um. Uh... I'm looking for Hyde. Do you know where I could find him?” As soon as I said it, I knew that I had asked a dumb question. I had expected someone much older, given Mustard's age. Was Honey just that good at hiding her age, or... I did not want to think about that.
The little boy let out an annoyed sigh.
“Yes, that's me. Geez, why are you even knocking around if you don't know who you're looking for.” He started to close the door, and before I could stop myself, I put my hand on it to keep it from closing.
“Wait! Sorry, I just... Didn't know that you were going to be.... Um....”
“A kid?” He rolled his eyes at me. “Did you need something from me or what?”
Rude little shit. He was quickly getting on my nerves. But if his mom thought he could help update my Pokedex...
“Yes, actually, I did need something from you.” I held out my Pokedex. Hyde's grip on the door loosened and he adjusted his glasses to look at the device in my hand.
“What is that?” he asked incredulously.
I let out an annoyed sigh.
“It's my Pokedex.”
“I've never seen a Pokedex like that.” He motioned if he could take it, and I handed it over. He looked it over, opening it to look at the screen that had been replaced more than three times over the years.
I was attached to the old model of Pokedex. I felt bad when I had to scrape the insides out in order for someone to build a new computer inside of it, when times changed and technology improved far more than it could keep up. When information began to take up too much space, I paid someone to change its storage capacity, along with everything else. I had invested so much into it. Time. Money. Emotions. Experiences. It was my pride and joy as a trainer, having that model; where others had upgraded as soon as they could, I still clung to it, glad to relive memories that were forever etched into the casing. It wasn't just about the data-- data could be saved, duplicated, and moved. It was about the attachment, the memories it held for me. And upgrading to a new shell meant that I wouldn't have that connection to those old days anymore.
“It's a little bit older than you,” I said after a few moments of letting him look.
“Looks older than my dad.”
I could hear a snort of laughter from behind me, and I turned around, seeing Lance standing there, trying not to laugh. I crossed my arms, frowning at him.
“I'm sorry; I came to look for you, and--” he began.
“You're in no position to talk, mister 'listens to music from the 1800s',” I scoffed.
“1900s. And that's not even that old!”
“It may as well be the 1800s, old as your soul is!”
“Can you two stop your married bickering?” Hyde interjected. The small child looked annoyed: he was tapping his foot, arms across his chest, waiting for his presence to be noticed again. “I want to get back to work on important stuff; I don't have time for your old people nonsense.”
I couldn't tell whether I should have laughed or been appalled at that comment, while Lance seemed amused.
“Is this... is this how you treat people who want to ask you for favors?”
“You came to me; I don't see why I have to help you.”
I puffed out my cheeks, trying to hold back any rude comments. Kid or not, I wasn't above telling them off. But he was the master's kid, and my husband was there now, too...
“What's going on?” Lance asked.
“I asked Honey if she knew where I could get my Pokedex updated, and she suggested that I ask her son.” I jerked my head in the direction of Hyde. “But I'm starting to think that this was a waste of my time.”
“Look, I don't know how to update something that old. But I can give you a Rotomdex for you to use. I feel a little bad giving it away since my mom got it for me to use next year, but I'm not interested in doing the Gym Challenge. You want it or not?”
“Not particularly.”
“A Rotomdex would make it a lot easier to get around here,” Hyde began saying, as he continued to look over my ancient device to understand it. “They have maps, camera function, voice-based communications, and they're controlled by a Rotom, who are able to talk by using the installed voice libraries. And it's lot quicker for me than trying to figure out how this thing works.”
I thought about it. A Rotomdex sounded interesting, for sure, but the thought of using it felt off. It would be too different from what I was used to. Like I'd have to give up using my old Pokedex because of the new one.
“You'd just need a Rotom to put into the device. Trust me, out here you'll want a Rotomdex for the map system. It'll help guide you around the Isle and provide you with information on the area. It's really easy to get lost here.”
“Yeah... I won't need that. I've never gotten lost. I have a pretty damn good internal GPS; I can intuitively find my way to the place I need to be.” It wasn't even some sort of sixth sense developed over years of travel; I had always known the quickest way out of a route, cave, or forest. Even a trip to the distortion world in my younger years was disorienting at best, but I hardly got lost while in it. Still was not on my list of favorite places to go.
“That doesn't happen around here. Lots of overconfident trainers think that they don't need to use a map, and then they wind up getting themselves lost, especially in the forest. We usually have to wind up sending out a search party, like we did with you when you got here.”
“Excuse you, we were not lost!” I crossed my arms and huffed. “We were misinformed on how to meetup.”
Hyde handed back my Pokedex. It seemed that he was done with me if I wasn't going to take the offer for a Rotomdex. There was a quiet pause as we waited for the other to speak.
“If you're done here...”
“Ugh, fine, I'll take the d—stupid Pokedex.”
“It's a Rotomdex,” he corrected. Hyde opened the door to his bedroom all the way and invited both my husband and I inside.
It looked more like a workshop than a bedroom. There were many computers, all sorts of machinery scattered about. Cables were bundled up together, but that didn't stop the few spare ones creating tangles across the floor. There were boxes around the room used to house different components he kept.
“Sorry about the mess. Mom's always telling me to clean up, but I don't see the point if I don't usually have people over.”
Hyde went over to a cabinet in the corner and began to rifle through its drawers, trying to find something.
“Right...” That felt familiar to me. I was the same way when I was a kid, though I certainly didn't have the vast array of mechanical and computational skill as he did. I looked around and noticed something that was near his computer; it looked like a machine that he was working on, blue in color, and shaped like some sort of bird that I wasn't familiar with.
“What're you working on over there?” I asked, both curious and trying to be friendly with the kid. He was giving me a free Pokedex, after all.
“Oh that? That's my Cram-o-Matic. It's the invention of the century! It's my very own brilliant take on recycling. But it doesn't do a thing right now, since it's out of power. If I just had enough Watts...” He paused. “Hey, actually--! I can give you this Rotomdex if you can do a favor for me!”
I knew there was gonna be a catch. I sighed.
“Sure kid. I can try; what do you want?”
“Watts. All it would take is a measly 500 Watts to get the Cram-o-matic up and running!”
“Watts?” I looked at Lance, and he shrugged. He didn't seem to know what it was either.
“The two of you don't know?! Watts are the energy that you can get from the Pokemon Dens in the Wild Areas. Your Dynamax bands can absorb it whenever you're near one, and then we can transfer that energy into the machine or a battery with a cable!”
I looked at Lance; he was the only one between the two of us that had a Dynamax band.
“We don't have any right now, but would it be possible to pay you back later?” he asked.
Hyde tapped his foot against the ground as he thought about it.
“What are your names again?”
“I'm Sarah, and this is my husband Lance.”
“You're the Champions that my parents invited over for training, right?”
“That's right.”
“You guys are probably more the outdoors type, huh? Well, I'll loan this Rotomdex to you for now, Sarah, so long as you guys promise to pay me when you get the watts. Then it's all yours.”
“Yeah, that doesn't sound like an issue for me. Though, it might be a little bit before we get any. That okay with you, Hyde?”
He began to dig into the drawer again, and finally pulled out a flat, red device, about as wide as the Switch I had packed in my bag. He waved it at me. “No problem. Well, let me know when you've got a Rotom to put into here, and I'll help set you up.”
“If you guys had a PC, I could get that done right now.”
The kid lit up, as though proud to lord this incoming fact over me.
“It just got delivered this morning, while you guys were out doing dad's first trial! I watched the guy set it up.”
Hyde showed me to where the dojo's PC was. I connected to my account and withdrew a Rotom-- one that I had caught back in Sinnoh many, many years ago. It zipped around excitedly when I let it out, like an old friend who hadn't seen me in a long time. I directed it into the Pokedex. The screen lit up a light blue, and two large blue eyes, much like a Rotom's, appeared on the screen.
“Hi? Hello? Hello! It is I, your trusty Rotom, Plasmastar! So good to see you again, Sarah!” The Rotomdex floated around; not nearly as fast as the zippy Ghost-type Pokemon typically was. But it seemed overjoyed nevertheless with its new home.
Hyde grabbed the Pokedex, causing the Rotom inside to give a startled cry. “If you don't mind, I'll help talk your Rotom through proper installation, so it's familiar with how to use all of its components. It'll take at least an hour though.”
“An hour?!” shouted my Rotom, and it tried to pull itself away from Hyde's grip. “I don't have time for that! Please, please, don't leave me with him!”
“Sorry Plasmastar. But please bear with it, so you can help us. I heard you'll be able to read the map really well and be super helpful to us, if you do!”
It stopped tugging. “Super helpful? Say no more, I am glad to be of service!” I'm not sure what it was trying to do at that moment, but there was a flash that went off, temporarily blinding Hyde.
“Oops! Sorry about that, small human! I'll listen, but you better make it quicker than an hour! I want to go explore with Sarah again!”
Lance and I went outside to look around the dojo. Pokemon played in the grass; the groups of Jigglypuff and Buneary from yesterday saw us and ran up, excited to see us again. I reached into my bag and let out the two that I had caught so they could see their friends.
“Ellie, Bunbun! C'mon out!”
The Jigglypuff and Buneary appeared. They looked around while their friends stood in awe for a moment, before clamoring all around them excitedly. Ellie puffed herself up with pride, and began to tell her audience about her battle. She mimed out what happened, eventually getting Bunbun to play the Mienfoo. Though Bunbun was reluctant, she eventually joined in. She got so into it that she was suddenly going off script, including a lowkick when Ellie was supposed to dodge another punch, causing Ellie to bounce into the ground. Angry, the Jigglypuff began to yell at the Buneary, while the other turned around and stuck up her nose. Their audience didn't know what to do at this point, so they wandered away, going back to playing in the grass.
As amusing as it was, it wouldn't do me any good if my two newest members were fighting amongst each other. I walked over and pushed them apart.
“C'mon guys. Bunbun, apologize to Ellie; and Ellie, calm down. You asked her to do something she didn't want to do anyways. This is a consequence of that.”
Ellie huffed and turned away, crossing her arms while Bunbun continued to do so. I sighed.
“Please? If the two of you make up, I'll give you each a treat.”
At the promise of a treat, the two of them looked at me, before turning around and looking at each other. Bunbun smiled and apologized, and Ellie smiled and puffed herself up, as though proclaiming that she was in the right anyways. Bunbun looked away, pretending not to be annoyed by the display. Both of them looked at me, holding out their hands expectantly.
“Hey-- wait, I never said I was going to give you a treat right away! They're back in the Dojo; you'll have to wait 'til later for one.”
Both of them gave me an angry look and turned away from me, arms crossed. Well, at least they were in unison on that.
“Eheh.... Alright, how about the two of you c'mon back.” I held up my Pokeballs and they both went back inside.
“Trouble with your new friends?” Lance asked. He had let Zweilous out while Ellie and Bunbun entertained their audience, and the two-headed dragon was biting onto sleeve of his uniform.
“Nothing that I'm not used to.” I motioned to Zweilous. “On the other hand, I think I should be asking you that, except I know that's just how Zwei is. Did he break through the fabric already?”
Lance laughed and pet both of their heads in sequence, causing each one to finally let go of the loose fabric. He brought up his arm, looking at the sleeve. “No, not yet. He's just hungry. We should go back inside and get something to eat for lunch.”
Everyone had gathered in the dining room once more, with plates and bowls left out in the Dojo's main hall for our Pokemon. Zweilous ran over to the nearest bowl, both of his heads fighting over bites. Pika ran up to the bowl next to him. We let out the rest of our Pokemon, leaving them to eat while we headed towards a spot at the table where we could sit next to each other.
“Thank you, Ms. Honey!” everyone said before digging in. Chatter filled the dining room between bites, and everyone felt so warm and welcoming. No one seemed to begrudge us for having defeated all three Slowpokes, including those who never even got to catch up to one. In fact, many were excitedly speculating about what the next trial might be. I looked around the table, wondering if Hyde had joined everyone, or if he had missed the call to lunch. I couldn't see him. The din of the dining room began to lower as everyone filled up on the food made by Ms. Honey and the students who helped with meal prep. The final peals of laughter and conversation were silenced when Mustard stood up and addressed everyone.
“A-hem. I'd like to congratulate everyone who did their best this morning with the first trial. To those of you that weren't able to pass—may you have better luck next time. Take this time to train up! For those of you moving on to the second trial, I will take the time to explain what your next trial is. Now that you're all energized from lunch--” Mustard paused mid-thought, as though something came to mind.
“I think our second trial should be something to welcome them with. You know what would sound good for dinner tonight? The Master Dojo's secret recipe: Max Soup! Since we have two special guests, I'd love for them to have a bowl of Max Soup full of Max Mushrooms for tonight. And that's why your second trial shall be mushroom picking!” A collective, confused reaction, interspersed with some groans, went out among the students. I blinked, confused myself. How was gathering dinner ingredients supposed to be a trial? If anything, it sounded much easier than the first. Someone whispered to another student that they were glad they hadn't passed.
“Students!” The dining room quieted once more at Mustard's raised voice. “That's better. In case you forgot, or you aren't aware, Max Mushrooms are the key to Gigantamaxing, and I'm tasking all of you with finding three!”
Honey stood next to Mustard, explaining what we were looking for. “Max Mushrooms are red with a spiral pattern. You can usually find them in dark, humid places, such as the forest or Warm-Up Tunnel.”
Mustard, “And with that, your next trial begins! I'm countin' on ya!”
