Today's TCG art features older guys and their Pokemon.

We also have a low-res look at Rika's and Cyclizar's art rares.
And oops. (A new PokéPiece comic via the PokeTimes Twitter. Pichu ends up coming back tho, crashing back down onto Piplup.)

You don't need to use Kubfu to finish the swsh Isle of armor dlc. If you put it into home, Mustard will tell your Kubfu is no longer in your team nor your boxes. And while there is some special dialogue, there's nothing stopping you from finishing the dlc regardless. The story continues like normal. The 1v1 fight with Mustard also changes because of this, making it so you can use your full party against him.

Enter: Knucklehead, Frostbite, and Balloon + Vs: Avery and Mustard + Trial of the Isle
Once I left Motostoke Stadium, Hop was waiting for me outside. He wanted me to hurry so we can go explore the Wild Area a bit. While we were leaving together, Kabu approached us from behind, coming all the way here to see us off.
He explains that there are many trainers who fail to get even 3 badges, and they just give up the Gym Challenge altogether. That's why he makes it a point to see off any who are able to defeat him. Nessa and Milo also show up, congratulating us on beating Kabu. All three have shown up today to show their support. So Kabu sends us off with a chant:
"Hustle, hustle, hustle, Hop! You can do it, you can do it, Goldielocke!"
The next group of gym leaders are all tough opponents. But Kabu, Nessa, and Milo believe in us. Hop and I are grateful for their support, and we both set our aim for the Champion Cup. We leave Motostoke and make it to the Wild Area.
Hop and I stand side by side, ready to head to Hammerlocke. Hop plans to rush straight there, no detour, but I have my own idea. He says that while up ahead, he's going to catch more pokemon. That's when Bede came up behind us and said to not even try since neither of us will make it through the gym challenge. Thank God Hop is here, or else Bede would've been thrown into the lake by now. Bede just berates us, but I just ignore him. It seems like he's getting under Hop's skin, though. Hop and Bede run off together to fight somewhere. I'm rooting for Hop.
Anyways, I decide to explore more of the Wild Area, heading to the Motostoke Riverbank which has intense sunlight, where I encountered a Level 28 Rhyhorn. After a bit of fighting, we caught him and named him Knucklehead. I go up to Bridge Field, where it's...snowing. What the f-
My leg is immediately attacked by a Sneasel. I send out Goldeneye to deal with her, both going back and forth. I eventually caught the Sneasel and named her Frostbite, like the one I had back in Alola. After I catch her, I get a call from my mom that I've been invited to go to a nearby Island. There's a train in Wedgehurst that can take me there. After she hung up, I hailed a flying taxi and flew to Wedgehurst Station.
Once I arrive and board the train, I am sent to a special Flying Taxi that flies me to a nearby island: the Isle of Armor. Once I arrive, a scientists spots me and expands my Pokedex to include the special Pokemon found on the Isle of Armor. When I go to leave, there's a person standing at the doorway. He says that he was supposed to join the Dojo on the island, but there's a strange person standing outside the station. Someone enters, and the man runs away.
Once he leaves, the stranger who entered turned out to be the guy from a couple of days ago. He was told that he was supposed to guide a traveler. I think it was supposed to be me, since I was invited and all. "Exactly when we agreed to meet, too. Quite the commendable punctuality." I guess my mom told them I'd get here by this time. He seems to not remember me, so he introduces himself: Avery. He's the senior member of the Dojo group I'm supposed to join- oooooooh he thinks I'm the guy that just ran away.
I try to tell him that I'm the wrong person, but he won't budge. He turned around and muttered something to himself, but I couldn't quite hear him. He turned to me again and said we should battle outside to "get to know each other." I am so confused.
Once I stepped out, I took a look...around...oh wow, this place is beautiful. Avery spots me and asks if this is my first visit to the Isle of Armor. Obviously, my guy. He said that before I can explore freely, I have to battle him to prove I can handel myself. He challenges me to a battle.
You are challenged by Pokemon Trainer Avery!
His first Pokemon is...a level 10 Abra. Dude. I send out Vee and just use Bite. Abra faints immediately. He than sends our a Slowbro of his own. That's level 12. Is this guy serious? Bite. Done.
After his total Wipe, he asks to have a moment to himself. I agree, and he walks behind the station. I hear him scream out of anger, hearing curse words I didn't even know existed. He walks back out, adjusting his hat. He clears his throat and says that he only used 3% of his full strength. He explained that the dojo is a respected place, where even Leon trained. He says that he doesn't think I'm up to snuff. He says that I should ignore the Dojo and head home as soon as I finish taking in the sights. He also gave me a Style Card as a parting gift. He than runs away.
(Character Break: I'm using the same rule for the Isle of Armor as I did for the Wild Area: 8 badges, 16 separate areas, 2 encounters before every gym. Since I'm 3 badges deep, I'm getting 8 encounters. Time to go: Hog Wild)
While in the Fields of Honor, I bump into a passing Jigglypuff. I throw a pokeball and I catch it. I name him Balloon and head towards the Dojo. Before I could cross the bridge, I spotted some familiar looking hair strands in the ground. I knew that hair well: it's an Alolan Diglett...wait, why is an ALOLAN Diglett here? After it popped out of the ground, a guy ran up to it. He thanked me for finding him and was surprised that I knew it was from Alola. Apparently, he fell in love with them and caught a lot of Diglett and brought them back to Galar. But the second he looked away, they all ran off and scattered about the Isle of Armor. He asked if I could find the rest, and I said sure. Can't be that many, right? He told me that I found one, so there's 150 more left to go. ex-fucking-cuse me? HOW many?!
I moved on, with the side quest of finding 150 Alolan Moles on the back of my mind. I approach the Dojo and spot Avery talking to a woman. The woman spots me and asks who I am. Before I can answer, Avery looks at me and seems shocked. The lady answers her own question and concludes that I'm the person who was supposed to join the dojo. Eh, I'm too far deep into this, might as well roll with it. Avery ran by my side and explained that I disappeared after our battle. That lying-
He says that it brings him great joy to know that I decided to join. The woman got closer, happy that I decided to show up. Although she was sure she was told my name earlier, she asked for my name, and I happily provided. She says that she's rather sure that's not the name she was told, but accepts me anyways. She introduces herself as Honey, and she's the one who keeps the Dojo running. We both hear Avery muttering to himself again, but Honey explains that Avery has been training hard in the dojo to be a Gym Leader in Galar. Honey invites me into the Dojo and goes inside first. Avery grabs my shoulder. He threatens that if I dare say a single word about what happened at the station to Honey...well, let's just say his Psychic powers are very potent. He walks into the dojo. Ohhhh, I'm going to love breaking him.
Once I enter, Honey makes the announcement of me joining to the other students. Some kid in a pink sweater says that I'm not in the student database, and Honey introduces me to him: Hyde, her only son. Hyde gives me an item known as an Exp. Charm. He asks me not to open it, since it has delicate tech that he developed. Kid, you look 7 at most.
Honey than points to the old person in the back and says that that's her husband and the master of the Master Dojo. He introduces himself to me as Mustard, and he's rather good at Pokemon Battles, Y'know? He's pleased as cheese that I could join the dojo. I like him already! Well, cheesed to you, sir! Honey explains that despite his old looks, he can be a real serious battler when he's serious. He than challenges me to a battle, and I accept.
You are challenged by Dojo Master Mustard!
His first Pokemon was a Mienfoo that was level 13. I have the feeling that I should've come sooner so it'd be more of a challenge. I send out Child Safe and use Gust to KO Mienfoo.
His next pokemon is a Shinx, so I switch and send our Dig Dug. The level difference is concerning. A single X-Scissor does the trick, despite the Intimidate Drop.
He admires my strength and the crowd seems shocked that I won. Even if I've come because of a misunderstanding, as long as I have the will to learn, than I'm welcome at the Master Dojo! He gives me my Dojo Uniform, and I change to fit right in. They even tied my hair so it won't get in my face while training.
With me here, Mustard announces that the Dojo is at max capacity. It's time to start our training, and we'll be facing three trials. I've done Trials in Alola, this will be a cakewalk. The person who completed the three trials will receive the secret armor of the dojo. That hyped everyone up. Mustard was about to explain the 1st trial, but Avery butts in and says that he hasn't received his uniform yet. He says that it's unfair that I get a uniform before him. Mustard trues to hive him his uniform, but something rushes by to snatches it out of his hands. Turns it it was abnormally fast Slowpokes. Avery yells at them to give back his uniform, but they run off. Avery chases behind them, and Mustard tells us our first trial: Chase and Defeat the Fast Slowpokes. With that, we set out to chase the Slowpokes.
This Dojo experience is going to be wild, isn't it?

Some pages from the New SwSh Adventures chapter!
Also, a page from the TCG manga chapter (feels a bit final in comparison) and a page dedicated to this week's special episode. They're apparently bringing back some of the staff who worked on the original 1997 anime, and looking at the trailer, you definitely get that "older" sense with the background aesthetic. I'm pretty excited to see it.

Some silly RVT Headcanons
. The reason why Friede never takes his goggles off is because he knows that they look goddam cool. He would never admit this to anyone.
. Liko loves drawing cartoons when she's bored. (This is already kind of canon but I had to include it).
. Roy reads every book he can find on the airship, in hope that one will have information about shiny Rayquaza.
. Dot still dms Iono occasionally. She has a mixture of jealousy and admiration for the streamer.
. When the kids are in bed at night, the adult rvt members stay up late and binge-watch their favourite TV shows.
. Once, Friede and Orla swapped jobs for a day for a bet. Orla almost drove the airship into a cliff, and Friede accidently set the engine room on fire.
. Mollie is qualified for treating people as well as pokemon. Friede is the most accident prone out of the group, to her annoyance.
. Murdock often leaves the kitchen door open while he is cooking, in hope that Dot will smell the food and join them.
. Ludlow likes listening to heavy metal, but only when no one else is around.
. One time, Orla spent three days straight working on a DIY project, without sleeping. The others tried to stop her but she insisted.
. Liko, Roy and Dot love playing pokemon quest. Dot has the longest play-time.

By the way everyone talks about not mixing bleach and ammonia, which good, they should talk about it more so nobody fucks up and makes mustard gas (like I did). But not enough people talk about how you shouldn't mix Bleach and RUBBING ALCOHOL (like I did) because that makes CHLOROFORM.
