The Beetlejuice we could of had😰

The original script was more of horror film, and Beetlejuice was a winged, reptilian demon who transformed into a small Middle Eastern man to interact with the Maitlands and the Deetzes. Lydia was a minor character, who had a six-year-old sister named Cathy. Cathy was the kid who was able to see the Maitlands, not Lydia. The goal of Beetlejuice was initially to kill the Deetzes instead of scare them away. It included scenes where he mauled Cathy in the form of a rabid squirrel and tried to rape Lydia instead of marrying her, kinda dark right? Wes Craven was supposed to direct the movie.

I drew him as a squirrel, a snake and I imagine he'd probably have the same suit but it's opposite colors....

I also tried to look for images that fit the script's description.

Okay so I saw 'Once Upon a Studio' yesterday and I mean...I did not ask to be punched in the gut with emotions Disney! Spoilers under the cut in case you haven't seen it yet

-First off, just the concept of the animation studio almost being like Night at the Musem where the pictures come alive was so much fun.

-TREASURE PLANET GOT ACKNOWLEDGED! I GOT TO SEE JIM IN HIS JACKET ON HIS SOLAR SURFER!

-Dodger with Vanellope in the candy racer was adorable!

-Hearing Peter Pan say 'Here we go!' felt so weird when it wasn't followed by Jack Sparrow saying 'We have our heading', those commercials were the pinnacle of my childhood

-Did I mention Treasure Planet?!

-The 2D and the 3D animations really melded well together, especially the scene where Moana's holding Flounder!

-There's an elevator gag that made me burst out laughing when I first saw it

-ROBIN WILLIAMS' VOICE AS GENIE! And no, it's not AI! Disney got permission from Robin Williams' estate to use outtakes from Aladdin for this.

-Milo Thatch getting ready in the men's bathroom with Gaston, Chicken Little, Prince John, the Headless Horseman, Thomas O'Malley, and Doc! Oh, and the Cheshire Cat!

-Antonio Madrigal happily making his way to the photo with Pascal, Cri-ki, Pua, and Meeko and saving Jaq and Gus from being eaten by a lizard-type thing (okay I haven't seen the Rescuers Down Under so I don't know all the characters by name lol) with some help from Pluto!

-Kristoff and Sven hanging out with Ryder!

-"Come on puppies, you're going to get nightmares" is Kristoff's only line and it's to the 15 Dalmatian puppies watching Night on Bald Mountain and yet I feel that's peek Akiho energy and it may find itself into one of my fics

-ROBIN HOOD AND LITTLE JOHN STEALING MONEY FROM SCROOGE AFTER THE PUPPIES KNOCKED HIM OVER!

-Pat Caroll's voice is the voice of Ursula and I'm loving the thought that the original voice actors stay the voices of these characters after their deaths

-Also what movie is the blue blobby thing from that's following Ursula?

-Also also why did Flounder need water but Ursula can walk around in her half octopus form?

-Can't have a Cinderella cameo without someone losing a shoe

-CINDERELLA HAS THE CORRECT COLOR FOR HER DRESS!

-"Eric, get your dog!" You can pry the fact that the princes are friends out of my cold dead hands!

-"Go Max go!" Aww, I love the fact that Cinderella can be goofy when she's not living with her abusive step family!

-The moment with Mickey and Walt's photo and 'Feed the Birds' in the background...yeah it's okay, I didn't need to do anything but cry for the next seven days

-"Make it pink" "Make it blue" was such a good bit

-The classic Goofy scream!

-All of them coming to sing When You Wish Upon a Star...Mirabel playing with Scat Cat, Belle singing with Beast, James Woods as Hades' voice, Jodie Benson reprising the voice of Ariel...just all of it!

-Snow White bringing Asha from Wish to stand next to her with Mulan on the other side and characters from Disney's 'Dark Age' on either side in the background

-Speaking of the Dark Age characters, how do you think they were treated during all this at the time? Especially Black Cauldron since that almost saw Disney Animation close its doors but it was nice to see all the characters be part of the short

Rebels Rewatch: "Crawler Commandeers"

I actually do not have a live reaction version of this one, huh.

Ryder's misgivings with their circumstances showing even more. You know, I bet if they could have avoided showing footage of him helping in the attack on the Dome in the finale trailers, they could have sold the red herring of his "defection" even more.

You know, really make us worry for a moment there. XD

What's with that look, Sabine? Lol.

A very slow and strained Ezra's Theme in minor key as they observe the ore crawler here.

And a similarly strained and altered "Shenanigans". We are just putting all the serious musical modifications on the leitmotifs today.

Meanwhile at the Dragging Their Feet HQ...

Interesting that they specifically cite Thrawn's presence as a reason to be hesitant to attack. The man spooks them so much they're afraid to move. Anything they do can wind up giving something away to him that he can use later to destroy them. This is reminiscent of their paralysis when confronted with the knowledge of the Death Star in Rouge One. The Rebel Alliance know they're hopelessly outgunned, they know it's a hard fight, but it isn't until you're actually staring down the barrel of the full huge might of the Empire that you realize just how big and overwhelming the threat is.

And it's hard to figure out what to do in the face of such overwhelming odds. Which is why every so often the Rebellion needed its firebrands and Jedi to reject fear and spurn action into them.

You know... I think Hera told Ezra about the Alliance's long debate over this attack and that's what made him decide that Thrawn needed to be taken off the board permanently. Which is one reason why he was okay with sacrificing himself to take Thrawn out.

Ezra with another cute "Lookit my girl go!" look, and in my head I'm hearing his bragging, "Those troopers are in trouble now." from "Ghosts of Geonosis".

The way she effortlessly takes out those two droids is pretty impressive.

Lol the Trandoshan is listening to Zeb's favorite band, it sounds like.

Once again showing off the smaller more wirey members of the species. Wonder how many mental comparisons Ezra was making. (He worked briefly with Bossk in the junior novel Ezra's Gamble, Bossk being a much taller and heavier Trandoshan than this Mining Guild shrimp.)

Ha ha Ezra just straight up clotheslining him, awesome.

Big fan of the absolute chagrin in Ezra's face as he attempts his bluff here, he already knew this effort was doomed before he started lol.

Seevor's so offended too.

You guys really should have knocked this guy out from the outset. Just saying.

The steam effects are perfect. But then mist and cloud has always been a strength of this show.

Hi Vizago!

Lolol and I just thought of how this had to sound to Kanan all of a sudden he hears this loud familiar voice, he can't even see how excited Vizago is to see him but his WTF expression is perfect.

Oh and here's one of my favorite Zeb moments this season!

First giving him a badass entrance--"Drop the whip and step away from my friend you knuckle-brained lizard!" is an amazing line, I should rewatch this episode more often I'd completely forgotten it--and then we proceed into a very knock-down bare-knuckle outright brawl between Zeb and someone finally in his weight class.

The way Ezra just grabs Seevor's collar and drags him is sending me.

Seriously though, just stun him. Your blaster does have a stun function yes? Does it not work on Trandoshans?

Gilligan Cut to Kanan and Zeb clearly NOT being fine lol.

The comedy is On Point this episode.

I've already mentioned how I love this brawl so I'll just enjoy it and move on.

Meanwhile on Yavin, Mon Mothma is putting an official name to the Empire's habit of withdrawing its own forces before launching a major attack. "Protocol 13". The complete evacuation of an occupied world by Imperial forces.

So now you're left to Fridge Horror exactly which planet is on the chopping block. Chandrilla? Ghorman? Alderaan? The official timeline (which I don't ascribe to anyway because of NUMEROUS problems and inconsistencies) places this episode very close to Year Zero, within smelling distance of the Battle of Yavin, so the Empire's new plan is almost assuredly the Death Star.

Anyway Hera's convinced to go in and make her speech of hope. It's only too bad that they're facing Thrawn for this sortie. He keeps things at the Alliance at an impasse with his presence. Can't let his TIE Defenders go into production, can't attack his forces outright.

The Immovable Object to Ezra's Unstoppable Force.

Vizago and Hondo would get along immaculately. Actually kind of weird that Vizago's developed into a Hondo-like personality when he was so cold and chilling at the beginning of Season One but again I point to "The Empire makes all other threats into miniscule nuisances" and also he's clearly been in contact with Ezra too long, everyone softens around him lol.

My son with his impressive glares again. <3

And the plan is once again to bluff the Empire, and it's mostly a good plan, aside from the fact that they still haven't stunned the damn crawler captain.

Oh good! Zeb went and knocked him out again.

Don't mind me I just like this shot of Ezra readying his lightsaber.

And Seevor has turned internal saboteur. Man's dedicated to his job.

Sabine looking entirely too amused to make Ezra go in the vents, just like the old days.

These shafts don't look as ah... sanitary as the ones Ezra's used to crawling through.

It was a nice touch that Ezra totally knew Seevor was there before he could attack. Force Sense warned him, it's implied.

HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE HORROR MOVIE PORTION OF THIS EPISODE.

When these clips were shown in the trailer I genuinely thought Seevor was Ruhk it was so hard to see him.

Again, Ezra senses the attack a hair before it happens.

People weirdly thought Ezra went briefly Dark Side again right here? Because they thought he manipulated his dropped saber into Seevor's foot path, sending him into the furnace, plus the dark humor comment later.

...I both do and don't see it. I see how it would certainly look like Ezra deliberately moved his saber somehow to make him slip but... I dunno I can't square it away with how he's been characterized for the most part. I'm going to settle on a maybe.

Sabine looks so happy for him, awww.

OHHHHH NO NO NO, SHOW. SHOW. YOU HAD TO KNOW WHAT YOU WERE DOING WHEN YOU HAD EZRA SAY, "YOU CAN COUNT ON US." WHILE LOOKING SIGNIFICANTLY AT SABINE.

Hhhhhhngnghhfhfffff my heart I ache now. Everything is so hopeful and optimistic it huuuuuuuurts.

This is a fun one. A bit silly in places, but entertaining. Lots of good moments for characters and unlike "The Wynkahthu Job" I don't want to slap anyone upside the head.

Jack found Elsa hiding behind a tree. "What's happening?" He whispered. "Earth giants, they found us," Elsa replied. Jack took Elsa in his arms, hugging her to him so they were both hidden. Elsa looked up at him. His jawline was sharper in the lighting of the moon and Elsa could feel her cheeks heating up. "Hello frosty," she said with a smirk. Jack blushed. "Snowflake," he replied. The ground shook once again and the two stopped talking. Elsa peaked from behind the tree, but when the earth giants head snapped to look at her, she quickly went back to where she was. After a few moments, Elsa looked out at it again, and began to walk toward it. "Elsa what are you-" Jack stated as he tried to get her back, grabbing her arm. But she continued walking and he let her go so he wouldn't hurt her. Anna grabbed Elsas arm, scaring Elsa a bit. The girls crouched down so they weren't seen by the giants. "Please tell me you were not about to follow them," Anna scolded. Elsa looked back at the giants. "What if I can settle them like I did the wind and fire?" She asked. "Or what if they can crush you before you even get the chance?" Jack stated as he came to crouch down next to the girls. "Remember. The goal is to find the voice, find the truth and get us home" Anna finished. Elsa looked down, somewhat disappointed but then nodded. "Hey guys that was close!" Olaf whispered as he walked up to them, the fire lizard on his head. "I know. The giants sensed Jack and I. They may come back. I dont wanna put anyone at risk again," Elsa stated. "Nor do I," Jack replied as he took Elsa's hand in his. "And you're right Anna, we've got to find the voice. We're going now," Elsa stated before walking away. Jack began to follow Elsa before he stopped next to Anna. "Okay. Lemme just-" anna trailed off, looking around. "Wait... where are Kristoff and sven?" Anna asked. "Oh yeah. I think they took off with that Ryder guy and a bunch of reindeer," Olaf replied. "What?" Anna and Jack exclaimed in unison. Jack looked away. Kristoff was one of his best friends. He just left? What about proposing to Anna? "They just... left without saying anything?" Anna asked. Jack glanced at her. Her eyes were stricken with worry and insecurity. Jack realized that she was scared he'd leave her like Hans did. "Who knows they ways of men?" Olaf stayed before walking after Elsa. "I'm sure he'll catch up Anna. He loves you more than anything. C'mon, let's go," Jack stated. Emotions weren't really his forte half of the time. "But... how will he find us?" Anna asked as she caught up to Jack. "He's been finding his way since he was born. In sure he'll catch up. And if he doesn't, then after we do this we'll go back and find him and then we can all go home," Jack reassured before patting Anna's back. "If you're sure..." Anna muttered. Anna looked back at the village one last time, worry written across her face.

When the first images of ME:A's male!Ryder leaked I immediately gave birth to this headcanon that he was Male!Shep and Kaidan's kid.

My ex gf and I had an honest-to-god fight about it.

I said he had Kaidan's hair and eyes and Shep's nose and lips.

She argued that two men can't have babies.

I pointed out that in a universe with scientifically advanced talking lizards, where you can travel throughout the galaxy using mass effect fields and you can LITERALLY enter the mind of a robot, it wasn't that crazy to think that they found a way for gay men to have kids with both genes.

She was pissed for days after that.

Season 3 Character Highlights - 3 Things

Character: Judd Ryder

Favorite 3 scenes:

3X16 “Shift-less”: This whole episode was such a great showcase of Judd’s desire and need to help and protect his children, sometimes even from themselves. Judd and Wyatt had been slowly building a relationship, but mostly off screen. It felt like their bond was cemented. I think that Judd taking Wyatt to the family ranch was such a big step in Wyatt truly accepting his additional family.

3x04 “Push”: Charlie’s birth scene was beautiful. That man will literally do anything to be with his wife when she needs him.

3x18 “A Bright and Cloudless Morning”: The whole scene where we see the after effects of the building collapse. The dude being a douche, Grace calling him, Hugo dying, the douche realizing that Judd knows what he was talking about. -also the part where he is still campaigning for Wyatt to get a job.

Favorite 3 lines: funny, heartfelt, or ridiculous

3x18 “A Bright and Cloudless Morning”: “I’m a fire fighter!” – Judd Ryder is someone that has always known who he was, so when a douchebag told him he was a ‘cripple’, Judd reiterated who he is. I just love the way he said it, like “Fuck off, I am a fire fighter”

3x02 “Thin Ice”: “Because you are an excellent observer of your fellow man sir.” To Captain Andrews when the Cap tells him Judd and Mateo would just take the jack hammers, even if he said no. Another example of Judd giving his all for his family.

3x06 “The ATX Files”: “I got a 17-year-old Texas boy who doesn’t eat meat and never fired a gun outside of a game console, so that’s about as alien as it gets to me.” He was desperate to bond with the son he had only recently learned about, but was struggling to find something with a little common ground. This man thinks that Owen is crazy, but this time Owen’s crazy could be what gives Wyatt and Judd something to do together.

Favorite 3 dynamics:

Grace, Wyatt, & Charlie: There will be a more Grace/Judd 3 things when I get to my 3 things Dynamics/Ships. Judd doesn’t know how to love any other way than with his whole heart, and this is particularly true when it comes to his wife and children. The way that he whole heartedly embraced having a surprise 17-year-old son that he hadn’t known about, only a short time after his daughter was born. I wasn’t sure about this storyline in 3x05, but by the end of 3x06 I realized we are getting to see Judd be a dad to a baby and a teenager at the same time, it ended up being my favorite Judd storyline this season.

Tommy: The support that the Vega & Ryder families give each other is wonderful to see. The chemistry with Tommy & Judd is so authentic.  

Owen: One of my favorite parts of the Judd/Owen relationship is that Judd consistently lets Owen know when he is being ridiculous. I love how when he thinks a question that Owen asks is insane, he just doesn’t answer. He is the biggest Owen troll, but with a deep respect and another genuine relationship.

3 things we learned:

Family: He learned that he had a 17-year-old son from a one-night stand in 2005 with Marlene Harris – this was discovered by Wyatt when he did a website DNA test.

Sentimental: He was so proud to be using the same baseball mitt that his father and grandfather had used.

Judd & TK share a single brain cell: In my many rewatches season 3, I have noticed a few similarities between these 2.

Example # 1: After the twin’s birthday party, Judd asks Tommy “If she is feeling better” because of her annoyance at Julius showing up. Then after the Catan fight, TK asks Nancy “If she was feeling better” due to Mateo leaving the loft mid-game.

Example # 2: in “Down to Clown” they both bring home strays. In Judd’s case his wife brings the stray home, but only for a meal. Judd is the one that invites him to stay FOR A WEEK, knowing that this particular coworker isn’t on Grace’s list of favorite people – Grace hardly maintains her sanity & messy house. TK brings home a lizard that was pulled from a leg, so at least he didn’t bring home a human stray. But the fact it came out of a leg and was a reptile makes this just as bad (to those of us that are not fans of them), and also left Carlos clinging to his sanity and his orderly home in complete disarray.

3 hopes for season 4:

Family: More time spent with his family, both Grace & the kids, but also his father, and it would be interesting to meet at least one of his older brothers. It is sometimes hard to remember that he has multiple older brothers and is the baby of the family.

Work: Season 4 could be a time to have Judd take more of a leadership role. Owen has to be getting close to retirement age. Not sure on Owen’s exact age, but Rob is 58, and the average minimum age for retirement is mid to late 50’s. Not that the timeline on this show makes any sense, but yeah.

Fire Family: I would love to see Judd and the other members of the house, other than just Owen and Tommy. I think a game night with Judd and Grace would add even more competition and opportunities for some great banter.

Next up: Grace Ryder
