Brandweer Westen kampt met heel veel problemen

"Er zijn heel veel uitdagingen om de branden te monitoren en onder controle te krijgen." "De voertuigen moeten we zelf proberen in een rijdende staat te houden en ook brandstof is een probleem", zegt waarnemend gewestelijke brandweercommandant Steven Sibelo. Hij zegt dat vanwege de aanhoudende droogte er wel een toename van gras- en bosbranden te merken is. “Vooral in Wageningen, in het zwampgebied van Bombay.” Wat ook voor problemen zorgt, is wanneer mensen hun percelen open kappen en in brand steken. De brandweer moet dan vaker uitrukken, terwijl dit niet hoeft als de mensen ophouden daarmee. “We schakelen ook de politie in zodat de mensen, die het vuur hebben aangestoken, aangesproken worden.” Sibelo meent dat het niet altijd helpt, want na een tijdje wordt er weer vuur aangestoken. “We moeten blijven praten en de mensen bewust maken dat het niet goed is.” Volgens hem kan er nog geen boete opgelegd worden, want dat is nog niet geregeld door de regering. Ook het verbranden van padiekaf en rijstvelden zorgt voor een gezondheidsprobleem, maar hierbij kan de brandweer niet veel doen. “Het is een normaal fenomeen in Nickerie, als boeren hun rijstvelden of padiekaf verbranden.” Er zijn geen huizen of gebouwen in de omgeving die beschadigd kunnen raken. “Het zorgt wel voor rookoverlast.” De Meteorologische Dienst Suriname heeft recent voorspeld dat de droogte waarschijnlijk tot eind van het jaar zal duren. “Ik hoop dat het intussen regent en als het niet regent, dan zullen we ons best doen om de gemeenschap te dienen.” Hij waarschuwt verder de weggebruikers van de Oost-West Verbinding in dit gebied, want enkele dagen terug zijn er twee verkeersongevallen geweest vanwege de rookoverlast die het zicht van de bestuurders belemmerde op de weg. “De mensen moeten minder hard rijden en met de lichten aan.” Read the full article

07º Lise x Colas (La Fille Mal Gardee, 1789)

Status: Canon and adorable.

La Fille Mal Gardée (French for "The Poorly Guarded Girl" and sometimes called "The Girl Who Needed Watching" ) is a comic country ballet inspired by Pierre-Antoine Baudouin's 1789 painting, La Réprimande. The ballet was originally choreographed by the Ballet Master Jean Dauberval to music based on fifty-five popular French airs, and premiered in 1789 in Bordeaux, France. It's been revived multiple times and is one of the oldest ballets, kept alive due to these multiple revivals.

The story starts with Lise, a peasant girl, and her fiancé Colas. Though they're in love, Lise's mother Widow Simone (usually played by a man) wants her to marry Alain, who is stupid, but very wealthy. But Widow Simone cannot keep Lise and Colas apart. At a picnic lunch with Alain, Simone, and Alain's father Thomas, the maypole and clog dancing is interrupted by a thunderstorm. Alain's umbrella carries him away. At home, Lise spins and dances. After her mother falls asleep she tries to steal her key but is unsuccessful. The crops are brought in, and Lise, home alone, thinks about Colas, and imagines being the mother of many children through mime. Colas then appears from a stack of crops. When Simone returns Lise pushes him into the bedroom to hide him, but to her horror her mother gives her her wedding dress and demands that she go into her bedroom and put it on.

Thomas, Alain, and the notary for the marriage arrive. Alain unlocks Lise's bedroom door with the key Simone gives him. Lise enters wearing her wedding dress, with Colas by her side. Insulted, Thomas tears up the marriage contract and they leave. Lise and Colas beg the Widow to agree to their marriage and she finally does. Everyone leaves happily, celebrating the love between Lise and Colas. Alain returns to the empty house looking for his umbrella. He too has a happy ending; with his umbrella.

06º Karaba and Kirikou (Kirikou and the Sorceress, 1998)

Status: Canon and fantastical.

Kirikou and the Sorceress is a 1998 French animated film, directed by Michel Ocelot, loosely based on a West African fairy tale.  It tells the story of a tiny baby boy, named Kirikou, who is born in a spectacular way (all by himself, without effort of his mother nor outside help) and can speak and walk immediately after being born. After a couple of questions, he learns that a wicked sorceress, Karaba, has cursed the village and devoured all the men and boys, except his uncle, who is on his way to fight the sorceress. He tricks the sorceress, saves his uncle as well as the children of the village (twice!!), brings the water back to the dried-up spring and, among other things, discovers the sorceress' true motivations: Karaba is evil because of all the suffering she went through at the hands of men, including a very subtly implied rape. All the bad things that she allegedly had done are ultimately proved to be false. She does hate everyone, but she gets better. Despite being a baby, Kirikou asks Karaba in marriage when she pulls a Heel–Face Turn, saying that he doesn't like little girls. She doesn't accept, of course, but then her kiss turns him into a handsome young man.

05º Queen Annika x Queen Neha (The Dragon Prince, 2018)

Status: Canon majesties.

Annika and Neha were the former queens of Duren and mothers of Aanya. They were killed by Avizandum, whom they distracted in order for the mission to retrieve the heart of a Magma Titan to succeed. Annika and Neha cared deeply for their daughter Aanya and their people and were willing to travel to another kingdom to ask for help when famine plagued Duren. They were also courageous warriors and would not hesitate to sacrifice their lives so that others may live. The series is at the fourth of its pretended seven seasons, and i hope to see more flashbacks with this power couple in the future episodes.

04º Ruby and Sapphire (Steven Universe, 2013-20)

Status: Canon made of love.

The two Crystal Gems whose love formes the heroine Garnet. Ruby is a small, red Gem described by the creators as "someone who cares a lot". She often lets her anger and frustration get the best of her, and so is complemented well by her more reserved partner Sapphire. Sapphire is a small blue Gem who possess ice powers and future vision. She can often be very withdrawn and emotionally distant, and so is complemented well by her more open partner Ruby. In the Crystal Gems home planet, their classist society tried to forbid Ruby and Sapphire’s love due to Sapphire being a noble and Ruby a bodyguard supposed to serve her. But combining their forces, this red and blue couple resisted, earning a happy marriage in the end.

Ik nam afscheid van Wouter die nog langer bleef staan en stuifde er van door richting woonplaats. Al bij al toch nog een aardige buit deze morgen al was het natuurlijk bijzonder jammer dat juist beide hogesnelheidstreinen aan dit punt met vertraging te kampen hadden... Het zal namelijk waarschijnlijk nog langs duren vooraleer we terug zulke omvangrijke omleidingen rond het Brusselse zullen meemaken! ----- Finally and at the deadline I had set to drive back home, the Eurostar towards London showed up - with a delay of 52 minutes due to the medical intervention. Zieke Soufaine blij verrast door vele donaties

De donaties voor Bredanaar Soufiane Elazizi, beter bekend als Souf, lopen nog steeds als een speer. Zondagmiddag stond de teller op ruim 150.000 euro, zo liet André Boersma weten. Boersma is Elazizi’s werkgever bij de Albert Heijn supermarkt op het Valkeniersplein in Breda. Hij coördineert de actie voor de jonge, ongeneeslijk zieke Souf. Zondagavond was Souf te gast bij Humberto Tan. De actie van Souf trok ook veel media-aandacht: ,,Het Jeugdjournaal van de NOS en RTL-Nieuws hadden Souf al voor de camera. We kregen uitnodigingen van Jinek en Humberto Tan. Jinek hebben we moeten afslaan, omdat het Souf teveel zou kunnen worden. Hij heeft door zijn aandoening bepaald geen onbegrensde energie’.

Eerder berichtte BN DeStem over de wens van Souf om een fonds op te zetten. Daarmee kunnen mensen in Nederland worden geholpen met spullen tot een bedrag van 250 euro. Een fonds van 50.000 euro, dat was zijn streven. De intussen spreekwoordelijke glimlach van Souf liet de kassa echter rinkelen. YouTuber Defano Holwijn besteedde aandacht aan de actie, waarna voetballers Hakim Ziyech, Memphis Depay, Quincy Promes en Steven Bergwijn een forse duit in het zakje deden. In no-time stond er ruim een ton op de rekening.

,Daarnaast hebben we de verkoop van T-shirts, hoodies en caps via de website www.doessouf.nl”, zegt Boersma. ,,De omzet daarvan is ook al ruim achtduizend euro. Op die site vinden mensen ook alle informatie.” 

Hulp van alle kanten

Boersma heeft intussen een klein team van medewerkers moeten optuigen om alles in goede banen te leiden: “Er is de betalingsstroom, de bestellingen van T-shirts en zo, inpakken, frankeren, verzenden, een hele organisatie. Maar we hebben de juiste mensen om Souf heen verzameld, die zich belangeloos voor hem inzetten. Ook de sociale media verzorgen we voor hem, anders zou het veel te veel worden. En het is Soufs aard om alles en iedereen zelf te beantwoorden. Daar is uiteraard geen beginnen aan. Bovendien heeft niet iedereen die hem nu benadert, de beste bedoelingen. Mensen die de loterij winnen, hebben ook ineens heel veel ‘vrienden’. Dat soort verzoeken houden we allemaal bij hem vandaan. Het is nu zaak om het fonds zo groot mogelijk te laten groeien”, legt Boersma uit. “Komende woensdag is er een eerste overleg over de stichting die we gaan opzetten. Voorlopig houden we alles onder ons.”

Soms krabt Boersma zich achter de oren. ,,Ongelofelijk dit. Een paar jaar geleden begon het met een soort geintje, een actiedag voor Souf. Moet je zien wat die vent in korte tijd allemaal voor elkaar heeft gekregen!” Zondagavond zat Boersma ook met de tranen in zijn ogen naar het verhaal van Souf te luisteren. Een enorm zieke jongen waar zo enorm veel positieve energie vanuit straalt!

Wat is Sca type 2?

Sca type 2 is overigens geen spierziekte zoals in verschillende media naar voren is gebracht maar een hersenaandoening. Ik ben voor u in de medische uitleg gedoken. Spinocerebellaire ataxie type 2 (SCA2) is een type ataxie dat tot de groep van erfelijke aandoeningen van het centrale zenuwstelsel behoort. Bij SCA2 leiden genetische defecten tot beschadiging van specifieke zenuwvezels die boodschappen van en naar de hersenen vervoeren, wat degeneratie van het cerebellum (het coördinatiecentrum van de hersenen) tot gevolg heeft.

Het eerste symptoom van SCA2 is, net als bij SCA1 en SCA3, gewoonlijk ataxie — gebrek aan coördinatie van de handen en evenwichtsproblemen tijdens het lopen. (Het woord ataxie betekent in feite gebrek aan coördinatie.) De vroege symptomen van SCA2 omvatten naast ataxie echter ook neuropathie (verlies van gevoel en reflexen) en zeer trage oogbewegingen. Bij sommige mensen met SCA2 kunnen zich in de vroege fasen van de ziekte ook spierkrampen en -trillingen voordoen. Naarmate SCA2 gedurende meerdere jaren voortschrijdt, ontstaan vaak problemen met slikken en onduidelijk praten. Andere mogelijke symptomen zijn o.a. spasticiteit, zwakte of geheugenproblemen. SCA2 kan ook een vorm van de ziekte van Parkinson veroorzaken.

De symptomen van SCA2 beginnen gewoonlijk wanneer de betrokkene in de twintig of dertig is. In de meeste gevallen duren de symptomen 10 tot 15 jaar. Wanneer de symptomen echter voor het 20e levensjaar beginnen, zal de ziekte gewoonlijk sneller voortschrijden.

SCA2 komt ongeveer tweemaal zo vaak voor als SCA1, dat bij 1 tot 2 op de 100.000 mensen voorkomt. (Het percentage varieert op basis van de geografische locatie en etnische achtergrond.) SCA2 vormt ca. 13 procent van alle vormen van autosomaal dominante cerebellaire ataxie.

FC Avondklok

Met zijn Instagram liveshow FC Avondklok probeert Défano Holwijn bijna iedere avond jongeren binnen te houden. En nu heeft hij zijn platform ingezet voor nog een ander goed doel: binnen een mum van tijd haalde hij meer dan 100.000 euro op voor de ongeneeslijke zieke Soufiane.

De 22-jarige Soufiane lijdt aan SCA-Type 2, een zeldzame ziekte die ervoor zorgt dat de communicatie tussen zijn zenuwen en spieren verslechterd. Door de ziekte wordt Soufianes spraak slechter en raakt zijn evenwicht verstoord. Hij verloor zijn vader, zusje en twee ooms aan de ziekte. Als Soufiane ooit komt te overlijden, hoopt hij niet te worden vergeten. Daarom startte hij het fonds #DoesSouf. Met het geld dat daarmee wordt opgehaald hoopt hij anderen die het nodig hebben te kunnen helpen.

Ook Défano zag het verhaal van Soufiane voorbij komen en wilde zijn steentje bijdragen. "Ik dacht: ik moet hier wat mee doen en het een platform geven", zegt Défano. De influencer gaat bijna iedere avond om 22.00 uur live voor zijn volgers op Instagram. Hiermee hoopt hij jongeren van de straat te houden tijdens de avondklok. 

Soufiane langs bij FC Avondklok. "Petje af broeder", zei Défano in de livestream. "Dat jij in jouw positie andere mensen wil helpen. Petje af. Het mooiste wat we voor jou kunnen doen is gewoon doneren."

 Het eerste doel, 50.000 euro, werd binnen een halfuurtje bereikt. "Ik dacht nog eerst: dat halen we niet, maar we hebben het gewoon echt gerealiseerd", zegt Défano. 

Soufaine had één grote wens: een ontmoeting met voetballer, middenvelder,  Hakim Ziyech van Chelsea. Deze heeft voor hartverwarmende beelden gezorgd na de talkshow van Humberto. Ziyech deed een duit in het zakje, waarna de oud- Ajacied Elazizi na de uitzending van Humberto Tan verraste met een telefoontje. ,,Wat me het meest raakt is dat mijn vader eraan is overleden”, laat de Chelsea-speler weten. ,,Ik weet wat het doet met een persoon. Ik heb het van dichtbij meegemaakt.” Ziyech deed de ontroerde Elazizi nog een belofte. ,,Je kunt me altijd bellen als er wat is, je hebt mijn nummer. Waar ik kan helpen, probeer ik je te helpen. Wil je hulp, ik sta klaar.” Zo iemand als Elaziz verdient toch een steuntje in de rug!

Winners of the 51st Annual GMA Dove Award were announced during a special Facebook broadcast of the pre-telecast awards presentation, which aired on October 29. Under the motto "Carry The Change," the show celebrated the diversity of gospel music and promoted unity through dynamic performances and testimonials.

Australian brother duo For King & Country won the Artist of the Year award, making history as the first duo to win in that top category. Other top category winners include We The Kingdom for "New Artist of the Year," Tasha Cobbs Leonard for "Gospel Artist of the Year" (presented by SoundExchange) and Joseph Habedank for "Southern Gospel Artist of the Year."

Sinach, a renowned Nigerian worship leader, won song of the year for "Way Maker." Recorded in 2015, the world anthem has been covered by notable worship leaders including Bethel Music, Maranda Curtis, Leeland, and Michael W. Smith, whose version ranked # 1 on Billboard's Christian Airplay chart for three weeks.

Mit Songs wie „I Wanna Be Somebody“, „Wild Child“, „L.O.V.E. Machine“ oder „Blind In Texas“ hat sich Blackie Lawless mit seiner Band W.A.S.P. in den 80er Jahren in die Herzen der Metal Fans gespielt und den Grundstein zu einer grossartigen Karriere gelegt, die noch immer voll im Gange ist. Auf der kommenden „84 To Headless World Tour“ blickt Blackie noch einmal zurück auf die wilden Anfangstage seiner Truppe und spielt ausschliesslich Songs von den ersten vier Alben.

Im Jahr 1982 gründete der Songschreiber, Sänger und Gitarrist Blackie Lawless in Los Angeles die Gruppe W.A.S.P.. Laut und aufmüpfig präsentierten sich Lawless und seine Mitstreiter dem Publikum. Die Frühwerke „W.A.S.P.“ (1984), „The Last Command“ (1985), „Inside The Electric Circus“ (1986) und „The Headless Children“ (1989) gelten dank ihrer rauhen Energie und dem prägnanten Songwriting nicht umsonst als absolute Szene-Klassiker. Die mitreissenden Rocksongs mit ihren eingängigen Hooks haben ihre Live-Wirkung bis heute nie verfehlt. Und Urgestein Blackie Lawless ist noch immer ein unangenehmer Stachel im Fleisch der gutbürgerlichen amerikanischen Gesellschaft. Mittlerweile hat die Truppe des Steven Edward Duren, so der eigentliche Name des „Gesetzlosen”, weit mehr zu bieten als die blutigen Bühneshows und provokanten bis anstössigen Texte, mit denen sie zu Beginn der Karriere schockten. Doch mit der nächsten Tour will Blackie noch einmal an die wilden Jahre seiner Karriere erinnern. Zu den bereits eingangs erwähnten Gassenhauern gesellen sich weitere Mitsing-Nummern wie „95 N.A.S.T.Y.“, „On Your Knees“, „The Real Me“ oder die monumentale Power-Ballade „Forever Free“. Dieses Konzert wird definitiv ein Fest – nicht nur für W.A.S.P.-Fans der allerersten Stunde, sondern auch für Blackie-Jünger, welche in den 80ern noch in den Windeln steckten.
