I love Ori! What was the design idea behind his hair? I don't see a lot of characters rocking a rat tail kinda braid and it's very charming for him 🥰

The idea of a braid came from the typical beach braids we get here. it's something that to me has come to signify innocence because children and playful adults get them. For him it's a sign of individuality, he keeps his hair messy but the braid is something he can adorn... Also because his vampire boyfriend can pull on it to bite his neck LOL

i would like to. maybe hear your thoughts about melodies family if you have any. or their thoughts about their family. when the fact that they even have one isnt slipping through their fingertips like lightless sand-

they have two sisters. They were proudly the middle one of three.

Melodie, when they do remember them, loves them.

They remember being different from the two of them; the shortest, the one with the freckles, the more creative one with their hands. (it lent well to them being an enchanter of craft attacks! They've always been like that.) Their sisters resembled each other more than Melodie, but it was fine.

Their memory has always slipped through their fingers a lot. (it was a similarity to all of them.) losing the memory of their country made it worse.

But when they do remember their siblings, they love them.

... oh, their parents? remember, melodie was outside the country, got lost and disconnected when they were a preteen. melodie was... a middle child. maybe, if they had stayed, they could've reconciled with their parents, but...

... they were outside of the country in the first place for just a brief respite away from the house. An excuse to get away, really. they were looking forward to going back because of their sisters, but...

but...

... go back to what? they've always been traveling. always been a bit alone. that's always been true, right?
