hollow omori's kel concept
his color is dull and his seams are coming loose, hollow omori's inability to maintain kel has left him to face the elements and slowly rot away, he is just marshmallow and fabric after all
so kel never has to see what omori and headspace has become hollow omori has taken his vision and he lives in a small cell designed to keep him happy
but although kel pretends he's happy he is not
he can feel himself rotting and can feel the snow storms getting worse, he knows the end of this world is coming and his only wish is to make omori happy in his final moments
but omori has been so desensitized due to his years of living in headspace that nothing makes him truly happy anymore
--------
a bit of an authors note:
tl;dr --
hollow omori isnt canon, just an alternate ending to coldmori
after memory's eulogy and the woods the hospital saga will continue, telling all of you what hapoens after kel gets out of the hospital (also comic re-makes)
i fuckng hate when things become too different from their source but i have hdhd so i became what i swore to destroy (my mind is deteriorating)
coldmori has developed from just snow and omori and i feel its going too far off the rails and there's no clear disclaimers of what is and isnt just a one-off not-canon idea i have
so some clarification and lore -
hollow omori is not canon, but he could be
hollow omori is what would happen to omori if sunny choose to never ever go outside again, and not break the cycle by opening the door for kel
basically omori gets desensitized to headspace so he makes it more and more fun until everything degrades and starts going to shit
but the canon ending to coldmori is..
*technically* the good ending
so hollow omori is just a neat epilogue concept for an alternate ending
blahblahblah my mind is slowly deteriorating and i can barely form words to describe all the wacky ideas i have in my mind so please stick with me
i wanna kinda put coldmori back on the rails to how it was, after the intact omori comic and the woods ill probably be re-making the old comics and actually finish the hospital saga by telling yall what happens after kel leaves the hospital
sorry if things getting all weird and derailed left a sour taste in your mouth about coldmori as it did mine

i feel like main gohan is scared of his anger but future gohan relies on it.
like, okay. so main gohan has won fights with his anger, right? but he’s also done terrible things with it. he knows that when he can use it, he’ll be on the right side of a beatdown. but he doesn’t trust himself with what happens when it's there. when goku tells him to get angry in buu saga, he expresses reservations, because when gohan got angry with cell, people died. so main gohan's anger is source of incredible power, but it’s also something to be scared of. a beast in the cage of his mortal form. he has to train the power he gets from anger to keep it under control.
future gohan, though? future gohan has never won a fight in his life. like, okay, technically he got the KO on vegeta, but even then, in every fight he’s ever been in, he was on the wrong side of the beatdown. he’s never known winning, let alone what it feels like to have unquestionable superior strength against an enemy.
but his anger gave him super saiyan. it gives him strength and resistance in the face of unrelenting horror. anger is literally keeping future gohan alive. why would he be afraid of it? all his heroes died, and their deaths gave him a weapon to protect everyone left.
so anger just works very differently in their self images. main gohan tries to manage and hold down his anger, because he knows how dangerous it can be. he wants to protect the people he loves from its consequences.
but future gohan cherishes his anger. it is his protection. future gohan's anger is a gift from the people who loved him, and he nurtures that gift to make sure it doesn't go to waste.

Assorted Dragon Ball Dub VA Thoughts
I do not like Ian James Corlett's take on Son Goku. Disrespectful as that may sound seeing as he was the original English VA for the character, I just think he brought the wrong energy, wrong tone, wrong inflections, and just wrong portrayal to the role. He made Goku sound like a mature, macho superhero, and that had a negative effect on how Peter Kelamis and Sean Schemmel had to perform the role when they took over for Ian. Everything uncharacteristic about Goku in the early dubs can be traced back to Ian's portrayal of him.
The big three English voices for Goku to me are Sean Schemmel, Peter Kelamis, and Kirby Morrow. Schemmel is easily the most iconic and recognizable, and he really made the role his own as he improved over the years, Kelamis' portrayal of Goku in the Pioneer dubs of the first three movies is as close to a dead ringer to Masako Nozawa in English (but from a male VA) as you could ask for, and I think the late Kirby Morrow, who took over from Kelamis in the Westwood dub, was the only VA for Goku from the Ocean Group to get the character down right in the show itself, doing less of the cheesy hero shtick. All of them work really well for Adult Goku.
For Kid Goku, however? Sorry, but I can hear literally no one else but Stephanie Nadolny in that role. No one else even comes close. Her rough voice and delivery of her performance was just pitch perfect.
Bulma's best dub VA is still Tiffany Volmer, who never gave a poor, half-assed performance in the role except for her debut outing in Season 3 (which was just cringe). Monica Rial comes in as a close second but the trouble with her is that when she needs to get comically frantic and really emote, she sounds very immediately recognizable as a Monica Rial performance, whereas Volmer always sounded more unique. Three other Bulma VAs that go overlooked are Lalaina Lindjberg, Maggie Blue O'Hara, and Wendee Lee. Lalaina's Bulma is underappreciated, as it was very fitting and well acted. Maggie's Bulma sounds the most "real" out of all the Bulma voices, but in that movie dub she sort of underperformed compared to how she could've (think Lime) and she should not have been brought back in the Westwood dub. And with Wendee Lee, I just find it funny that she technically was the first to do Bulma in English for the lost Harmony Gold dub and then reprised the role many, many years later in the short lived Bang Zoom dub of Dragon Ball Super.
Gohan's a complicated case for me, since unlike Kid Goku, I was never big on how Stephanie Nadolny voiced Kid Gohan - she undersold everything during the Season 3 dub and then was too try-hard in the redub and every reprisal. I greatly preferred Saffron Henderson and Colleen Clinkenbeard's more natural takes. However, Nadolny absolutely killed it as young Teen Gohan in the Cell Saga, to the point where every other VA to perform the role during those events just will not sound right. As for older Gohan, while I love the way Kyle Hebert does him, Chris Hackney in the Bang Zoom Super dub was almost just as good. Brad Swaile in the Westwood dub and even Lex Lang in the US release of Final Bout showed potential too.
I always liked Terry Klassen's Krillin in a semi-ironic way. Like, he had a naturally fitting voice for the character but often overacted like crazy and made him hard to take seriously. Sonny Strait, like most, started off a weak replacement in Season 3, but nowadays? He IS Krillin. He breathes so much life and likability into the character and for years I'd believed Sony would never have a role that could match or surpass it...until a certain yellow octopus teacher came along. While I also like how Mike Thiessen and Brian Beacock approached the role, they fail to stand out when stacked against Sony's take. Also, major props to Laurie Steele as Kid Krillin - her voice for him sounds exactly like a kid who'd grow up into Sonny Strait's Krillin.
Scott McNeil and Chris Sabat are both hailed as the best VAs for Piccolo by many, and I'd say that's right....but Sabat himself has gone on record to say that he believes his Piccolo is utterly dwarfed by Scott's even now, so I'm sort of inclined to believe him. Solid as Sabat's Piccolo has become, there's just this gruff, gravelly, badass quality to Scott's Piccolo that just cannot be matched. Aside from them, Dan Woren and Ray Chase were fitting VA picks for Piccolo (though Woren was sadly misdirected given where he featured in), and you just gotta have a soft spot for Paul Bandey as Big Green!
Chris Sabat was, however, the best voice for Demon King Piccolo in the Dragon Ball dub, which helped make his Piccolo Jr. better.
Vegeta....is a toughie. Chris Sabat was horrid as the character in Season 3, showed improvement in Season 4, came into his own in Season 5 onward but also sounded awful in the redub and phoned it in for a lot of his subsequent outings, and then ever since dubbing Kai, he's been excellent enough to secure his place as the definitive English voice of Vegeta. Like, his Kai and post-Kai performances are objectively the best Vegeta has ever sounded in Western dubs, he just embodies the role so much. ...And yet, whenever I think back to or revisit the first two DBZ sagas, it is exceedingly difficult for me to get Brian Drummond's Vegeta out of my head. The nostalgia is a large part of that, but on its own merits, Brian's Vegeta was just so deliciously sinister sounding and oozing with underlining arrogance and spiteful fury that made Vegeta seem so intimidating. This is the guy who made "OVER NINE THOUSAAAND!" and "MY WRAAATH!" so unforgettable! He did fine, if not a touch weaker, in the Westwood dub as well, though by the Buu Saga I definitely prefer Sabat's take. The only other English VA to come close to these two would be Kaiji Tang in Bang Zoom's Super dub, but even that's mainly due to him strongly channeling Sabat into his Archer-esque vocal portrayal.
Linda Young's Freeza remains iconic for many, and I will say that I can't pass any blame on her for having been in the role and any missteps she might've committed in it, as she was cast to be a soundalike replacement for the late (and sadly miscast) Pauline Newstone. I will also say that in her first five years voicing the part, from 1999 to 2004, her Freeza sounded pretty great and she was skillful at voicing the character as it had been translated. In Season 3 she'd been the highlight and its sole shining instance of competent voice acting, giving Freeza different, fitting voices for all his forms and nailing the character's sadistic evilness in spite of the scripts feeding her some truly horrendous dialogue. However, by 2005 and the redubbing of the Namek/Freeza sagas, Linda had, for whatever reason, decided to start voicing Freeza in this "tranny granny" voice, like a high pitched, chainsmoking old diva with obnoxious line reads and screams like Rita Repulsa, and the voice directors just...let her do that. And this was especially harmful for Freeza in his final form, as the voice acting did not match the character as depicted in any way whatsoever. Her being recast for Kai was a not pre-planned thing, but I was and still am so relieved it happened. It's what had to be done and indeed what should have been done a long time back.
The late, great Christopher Ayres is bar none the best dub VA for Freeza. He redefined how the character would sound like in English, delivering a take on him faithful to Ryusei Nakao's original portrayal while also making enough distinctions to stand on its own. While Ayres is still greatly missed in general and his passing was a huge loss for the industry, it wasn't a huge loss for the role of Freeza since Daman Mills is freakishly beyond brilliant at recapturing that voice and doing similar performances to carry on that legacy, so we are so fortunate to have him. Beyond them, the only other offical dub voice for Freeza to even begin to match up would be Derek Stephen Prince doing his Vexen voice for the character in Bang Zoom's Super dub.
Cell's an interesting case where all dub VAs to do Imperfect Cell sound alike and all suit him well, but for Semi-Perfect Cell, Travis Willingham surpassed Dameon Clarke in how he performed the voice prior to Clarke's reprisals starting with Kai, where he improved the Semi-Perfect Cell voice to stack up to how Travis did it. And Perfect Cell? Dameon Clarke stands alone there, unmatched. He is perfect!
Both Josh Martin and Scott McNeil give portrayals of Mr. Buu that work for his character. The same can't be said of Corby Proctor's strange Jar Jar-Gollum hybrid voice, and Spike Spencer trying way too hard yet failing to come off as convincing.
Justin Cook's initial outing as Super Buu was...off. He just sounded way too scary and ominous for a character who's supposed to be not just demonic, but savage, brutish, and petulant. Brian Dobson in the Westwood dub actually played the part better. But in practically every reprisal, especially by Kai, Justin proved able to easily match that.
Am I the only one who has a hard time stomaching Eric Vale as Future Trunks these days? From his first shot at the role all the way to the Kai dub, he absolutely nailed the character and endeared him to so many fans with his emotional performances, but afterwards he started making the voice way too gruff and snarly and it's made Trunks harder and harder to take seriously. I don't think he's no longer capable of doing Trunks as good as he used to since other roles like Yuki Sohma suggest that he still could, so I don't know what he's going for anymore. Sean Chiplock sadly never got the chance to go into more Trunks material since Bang Zoom's Super dub lasted those first two sagas, but I think he'd sound a lot better in the role.
Master Roshi had a great VA for him for Funimation's initial dub of Dragon Ball in Michael Donovan, and it's weird that he was never brought back for DBZ. Out of the other Ocean Group VAs to voice him, I only really liked Don Brown in The World's Strongest - Ian James Corlett, Peter Kelamis, and Terry Klassen never sounded right and were never convincing. Mike McFarland IS Master Roshi in English: he did a good job crafting the character's voice and playing the part from the start, and by the second, full dub of Dragon Ball and going onward he's just nailed it, sounding more and more natural in the role the more he himself ages. He gives the character so much charm, humor, and stern seriousness when needed that it almost, almost, makes his dated old pervert shtick easy to overlook! The only other good Roshi voice is Kirk Thornton is the Bang Zoom Super dub, but even he can't quite hold a candle to McFarland's iconic take.
Chi Chi has mostly had fine VAs whose portrayls of her have worked for what the character calls for. Of particular note are Carol Anne Day, Lisa Ann Bailey, Lara Sadiq, Nicole Oliver, and Cynthia Cranz.
I only really like Dave "Squatch" Ward and Dave Petit as the Ox King. Kyle Hebert's not awful or anything, but his Ox King never sounded natural. Best you can say is that it's better than Mark Britten's take.
Likewise I only really like Elan Ross Gibson and Linda Young as Fortuneteller Baba (who had some male VAs voicing her a lot for whatever reason?), and only Brian Drummond and Mike McFarland for Yajirobe, though with a bias towards Drummond in the latter role since he got it down earlier and his delivery was more memorable. And I will remain forever insistent that Yajirobe is a Chris Sabat role he never got. Sabat's Kuwabara voice seems meant for the part!
It seems to be an unpopular opinion but I preferred Ward Perry to Dale Wilson as Kami Sama. And Dale was very good as Kami, mind you, but Ward Perry just has a natural gravitas in his voice and carries an aged god-like quality that makes his Kami voice my favorite. Third place goes to Chris Sabat, as it should be a natural choice to have Kami and Piccolo share a VA, but it took until the dub of Kai for Sabat to get it down. Beforehand, his Kami was too wheezy and like a younger man doing a weak impression of an old man.
I prefer Chris Casan to Chris Sabat as Mr. Popo, but prefer Alvin Sanders to them both. Sanders is the only VA to give that odd looking caricature any dignity, and him actually being black helped as well.
I will freely admit that Don Brown remains the definitive King Kai voice in my mind, as he most effectively balanced silly clownishness with an aged wisdom and dignity to him. Dean Galloway in the Blue Water GT dub and Michael McConnohie in the Bang Zoom Super dub are also excellent, with the latter sounding the most like the OG Japanese voice for Kai. Sean Schemmel....I've gotten used to his King Kai and he performs the part more competently nowadays when compared to how he started, but I still think the voice he goes for is just not what the character called for. It sounds too stupid, everyone has made fun of it. I mean, on literally day one of that early Captain Ginyu: Double Cross VHS release back in 1999, the friend who lent it to me had to warn me that this stupid voice was coming! That out of all the poor replacement Funimation voices, it had to be singled out as being particularly awful! So it's bizarre Sean's still kept with it.
Ward Perry and Chris Rager are the only good King Yamma voices.
Young Andrew Francis was the best and most natural voice for Young Dende, but Maxey Whitehead is definitely the next best thing. While Laura Bailey's Dende was well acted, the voice she used couldn't really disguise the fact that Dende's being voiced by a girl, unlike her Kid Trunks. The less said about Ceyli Juliann Delgadillo, the better. As for older Dende, only Justin Cook does it great.
Only Bill Jenkins got Grand Elder Guru down right. Robert O Smith's creepy Alfred Hitchcock voice didn't fit the large elderly Namekian and didn't even sound weary enough. Chris Sabat sounded more weary in Season 3 but was clearly a fake old man voice that didn't require much from him, and he sounded a lot worse in reprisals.
Chris Rager is Hercule Satan. It's the role that literally launched his career as a voice acting and he's never missed a beat in reprisals of the character. Jamieson Price in the Bang Zoom Super dub fits him very well too, even if he's naturally easily eclipsed by Rager. While I could get what Don Brown was going for with his take, I just don't like the performance - we all know the Ocean VA who should voice Mr. Satan is Trevor Devall, but that Kai dub they did was never released so we'll never know if he ended up doing it or not. And Dave Petit as Mr. Satan is such a massive letdown. You'd expect the dub VA for Master Asia to easily nail Mr. Satan, and yet he gave us THAT???
Kara Edwards is definitively Videl. She did great as her voice since she started voicing the role and has only gotten better by Kai. Monica Stori in the Westwood dub isn't bad per say, but I feel Myriam Sirois would've been the more obvious and better casting choice there. Erika Harlacher was spot on casting for the character but was sadly hampered by Super's lackluster Videl-in-name-only material.
I could never quite buy Laura Bailey's Erasa, as she sounded like a sweet Girl Next Door trying too hard to sound like a ditzy diva. Kelly Sheridan pulled off her voice more naturally in the Westwood dub, but Alexis Tipton in the Kai dub is easily the best of the bunch.
Bradford Jackson is the definitive Oolong voice, and it shouldn't even be close, yet Bryan Massey, Richard Newman, and surprisingly even Ray Chase give surprisingly close enough to match his portrayal. The only real opinion I can give is that as much as I enjoy Massey in the role, I think that after Jackson left the second time, they should've given the role to Jeremy Schwartz, who's an even closer soundalike.
Once he finally shook off the absurd Harvey Fierstein impression that Paul Dobson originated, Chris Sabat has played the best Korin. Roger Rhodes, Paul Bandey, and Theodore Lehmann also have very fitting voices for the old cat and they work in their own ways. Ted Cole is by far the most baffling to me, as he opted to play Korin like Garfield even though he was coming off of Dobson's Fierstein voice, creating a huge whiplash in what's meant to be the same character.
Speaking of Ted Cole, though, his Yamcha is still my personal favorite voice for the character. Sabat's Yamcha is fitting too, but can also grate on you after a while and it's more than a bit awkward to have Yamcha and Vegeta voiced by the same person. The other best sounding Yamcha would be Grant George in the Bang Zoom dub.
For whatever reason, Tienshinhan has barely recieved a good dub voice. John Burgmeier stands out as easily the best of the bunch, though Brendan Hunter and (yet again) Ray Chase are good as well.
Chuck Huber is the definitive Emperor Pilaf and I will accept no substitutes. Not even Don Brown, Dean Galloway, or Tom Fahn.
Kent Williams is easily the best Tao Pai Pai, but Doug McKeag in the Blue Water dub did a fittingly menacing yet campy take on him as well. Scott McNeil in the Westwood dub of DBZ is also entertaining to listen to, but giving an oriential dressed character with an oriental sounding name a Russian accent was...questionable.
While the older dub for Mystical Adventure is pretty cringe on the whole, it featured easily the most fitting vocal performance for Master Shen the Crane Hermit from the late, great Robert Axelrod. The only VA who comes even close to comparing would be Clark Robertson in the Blue Water dub. Chuck Huber comes in third place here, I never much liked his Shen, especially compared to his Pilaf.
Jason Gray Standford and Justin Cook have both given us equally perfect vocal portrayals of Raditz. Likewise, Michael Dobson and Phil Parsons are both solid as Nappa, though here I'd say the latter gets a definite edge over the former since he plays the role straight as the cruel, brutish and imposing Saiyan commando Nappa is meant to be, whereas Dobson delivered a lot of his lines in too juvenille a way.
Dodoria's voices in the Funimation dubs all work for him, but John Swasey is especially well cast as he effortlessly bridged the divide between the higher, raspy take by Paul Dobson and the deeper, throatier take by Chris Forbis into one pitch perfect voice.
J. Michael Tatum is the only VA for Zarbon who was just flawless in his approach and performances, so it sucks that he parted with the role once Mira became his main DB role to voice. Paul Dobson also did a kickass job, giving Zarbon a more masculine characterization than I think would be expected of him, though the Australian accent was certainly a choice. Chris Sabat has been all over the place here - he did a spot on Paul Dobson impression in Season 3 but then settled into a more refined, vaguely British sounding voice until suddenly he began doing his flamboyant, campy Ayame Sohma shtick for Zarbon and it sounded awful and ill-fitting. Now that he's got the role again he's notably improved once more, retaining the Ayame voice but changing up the delivery so that we buy Zarbon is actually taking shit seriously and so we're able to take him seriously.
The ideal lineup for the Ginyu Force would be Brice Armstrong as Ginyu, Vic Mignogna as Burter, Chris Sabat as Jeice, David Kaye as Recoome, and Terry Klassen as Guldo, as those were all the best fits for those characters. For Ginyu I also love Richard Newman, Richard Epcar, and R. Bruce Elliot's versions - Dale Kelly is the only one who flat out sucked, as he was horrendously misdirected and sounded like a generic big dumb goon or an evil Popeye the Sailor Man. Don Brown was a good establishing voice for Burter, and while Vic can no longer voice him for obvious reasons, I'm glad Sabat is doing better in channeling him rather than Mark Britten, who was the worst Burter. While I like Scott McNeil and Ernesto Jason Liebrecht's Jeices in their series' better than Sabat's, Sabat as Space Australia Jeice in all the video games has been the most entertaining. Obviously David Kaye's original Recoome can never quite be measured up to, but as of the Kai dub Chris Sabat finally found his footing with the role rather than doing a bad attempt at Kaye, a weird Schwarzenegger voice, or a painfully unfunny blithering retard stereotype voice like before. And while Bill Townsley did alright as Guldo, I think Greg Ayres really refined and perfected the whiney froggy voice he was going for.
Jason Douglas is the only VA to get King Cold down pat. Bradford Jackson's approach was a bit too literal-minded in sounding like a posh, faygala king and then transitioning 100% into a threatening thug when swinging the sword at Trunks. Michael Dobson just sounded like a generic evil brute. Douglas gets down the king quality, the cold quality, and the subtle menace all in a fairly deep voice that's just deep enough and aged enough to perfectly suit the character.
On the Androids...obviously Todd Haberkorn was best suited for 19 seeing as the competition was a high pitched racist stereotype voice speaking in monotone and Cathy Weseluck trying way too hard to sound like a big dumb fatso. Both Kent Williams and Brian Dobson were stellar as 20/Dr. Gero, but the former became especially suitable for the role with each reprisal of it he's done. It's no contest with 16, as even before his improvement for Kai and beyond, Jeremy Inman's voice fit better than Scott McNeil's overly done giant voice. And while Chuck Huber and Meredith McCoy are the most iconic and perfectly suited for 17 and 18, I think all the VAs to for the characters did good enough jobs, including Colleen Clinkenbeard's 18 in Kai.
Duncan Brannan did the best Babidi, it's not even remotely close.
Beerus and Whis are simply owned by Jason Douglas and Ian Sinclair, though I don't think John DeMita and Doug Erholtz in the Bang Zoom dub were awful, they just could've been directed better.
Champa, meanwhile, is a case where the short-lived Bang Zoom dub actually managed to outdo Funimation. Kirk Thornton fits Champa's appearance and personality better than Ernesto Jason Liebrecht, and it's not even close, though Caitlin Glass and Tamara Ryan do come close to each other as Vados: their voices and tone are both perfect.
James Marsters as Zamasu is just...if anything sells Zamasu as one of the all-time greats of villainy in Dragon Ball, that casting does.
I slightly prefer Don Brown as Garlic Jr. (his monologue upon gaining immortality really clinches it for me), but Chuck Huber also put in a tremendous effort to bring life to the role so that he seems a bit more than just a throwaway filler villain. Should he ever resurface, I think Bill Townsley ought to have a crack at voicing him, as his Babidi voice was closer to Huber's Garlic than to Duncan Brannan's Babidi.
Dr. Wheelo has three VAs and rather curiously falls into the exact same situation as the three VAs for Andross of Star Fox - one of them (R. Bruce Elliot) fits a big scary villain but doesn't carry much of an old scientist quality to him, while another (Douglas Rand) sounds like a mad scientist but carries virtually no menace in his acting. And then there's the one, Ward Perry, who gets it down juuuust right.
Turles is another great Ward Perry villain role, though more so in the uncut Pioneer release dub than the TV dub where he put on what sounded like a forced impression of Brian Drummond's Vegeta. Chris Patton didn't really carry the same quality to his take on Turles in the redub, but in the games to feature Turles afterwards, especially by Xenoverse 2, he's become just as definitive a Turles voice as Ward.
Jonny Yong Bosch as Broly > Vic Mignogna as Broly, come at me, but I'm right. Also, Paul Bandey was actually the significantly better (and more entertaining) fit for Paragus in the Big Green dub of Movie 8, but the more aged Dameon Clarke fit Super's Paragus far better.
This doesn't seem the common opinion, but for the GT version of Pan I think Caitlynne Medrek of the Blue Water dub > Elise Baughman of the Funimation dub. She sounds closer to the character's age and doesn't deliver most of her lines like she's half-yawning all the time. Similarly, Carol Anne Day > Amber Cotton as Valese in that show. You just can't go wrong with Carol Anne Day!
Bura, meanwhile, is a case of when the English VAs get better and better. Parisa Fakhri had a decent voice but was a notably wooden voice actress who never really committed to selling her characters. Leda Davies in the Blue Water dub had more energy and I'd argue she fit Bura better than she ever fit Bulma. Brina Palencia took over from Parisa for a cameo in Budokai Tenkaichi 2, delivering a similar voice saying more competently acted lines. Lauren Landa, who's been Bulla ever since the end of Kai, is easily the best Bura voice, as she gets down the right voice, right energy, and right line reads.
Lastly, let's talk about the Dragon himself. Don Brown, Chris Sabat, and Dave Petit are all top tier voices for Shenron, all making him sound believable as a mighty, magical wish-granting dragon diety. Sabat has become easily the most iconic out of them and he does wonderfully....but my personal favorite remains Don Brown. Partly because of that growl he has that's very Tiger Head Cave from Aladdin sounding and befitting a dragon, but also partly because it's Don Brown. Look at his resume, particularly as DB characters like many mentioned on here, and would you ever guess that was him?

Dragon Ball Super 052
Tumblr media
For fuck’s sake, Trunks...
Tumblr media
There’s too many characters in this thing.  Bulma is refurbishing the time machine for the assault on Goku Black, but she’s also got the Pilaf gang doing gofer work in the lab.  Also, her dad is helping, and Kid Trunks is around too.  Well, maybe the problem isn’t that there’s too many characters.  It’s that this montage of working on the time machine could have just been edited down to a few seconds, or cut altogether.
Tumblr media
Seriously, the way they keep cramming Pilaf scenes into this arc, you’d think Emperor Pilaf’s agent negotiated some sort of amazing contract with Toei.  He doesn’t have any technical skills, and seems to leave all the manual labor to Mai and Shu, but he still hangs around anyway, making insipid comments about everything.  He’s kind of like the Zamasu Saga’s answer to Giru from GT.
Tumblr media
And I guess that makes Kid Trunks like GT Pan, because he has zero impact on the plot, and he keeps hanging around anyway in a desperate bid to be taken seriously.  He goes with Mai to fetch some doohickey in “Lab 2″, which is an empty storage room with a pile of stuff in one corner, and he just pulls out random objects hoping she’ll be impressed with how he found what they needed.  Then he finds a hacksaw and some cable and ties it around his chest like Future Trunks’ sword.  That just looks dangerous.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Future Trunks doesn’t have much to do while he’s waiting for Bulma to finish his ride.  She tells him it’s going well, but it’ll take a full day to manufacture enough fuel for the trip.  Trunks is amazed because it took Future Bulma a year to make the same fuel, but this Bulma has the advantage of working with the full resources of Capsule Corp.  Trunks is just fortunate that this version of Bulma recently discovered how to make this fuel.  It was the stuff she had Monaka help her with in Episode 44.
Tumblr media
So Trunks goes outside, where Piccolo and Krillin have been tasked with repairing the grounds after the fight with Goku Black.  He asks about Gohan and they tell him he’s left the world of fighting behind.  That... doesn’t make sense, because Gohan begged Piccolo to whip him into shape after the whole Golden Frieza thing.  They were training together in the Universe 6 arc, and the only reason they stopped was so Piccolo could participate in the tournament.
Tumblr media
Anyway, Trunks tells Krillin and Piccolo the story of how the Gohan in his world trained him before he died, which is weird because you would think they’d know all of this.  Well, maybe not Kirllin, but Piccolo should definitely know, because he overheard Trunks telling Goku about it when they first met.  The point is that Trunks regrets not thanking Gohan when he last saw him after the Cell Games, and Krillin suggests that he go visit Gohan at the university where he... works?  Studies?  Interns?  I have no idea what Gohan’s status is in this.  Is he a student or part of the faculty?
Tumblr media
Anyway, Trunks eats soft-serve ice cream with Gohan and he can’t believe it.
Tumblr media
He meets Gohan’s family and can’t believe it.
Tumblr media
Pan mugs him and he can’t believe it.
Tumblr media
And as they sit down for dinner, Trunks realizes that this could have been his life in his own timeline.  He had saved the world from the androids and Cell, and they were rebuilding.  If Goku Black hadn’t shown up, then he could have been having this idyllic life with Bulma and Mai and that cat from episode 47.
Tumblr media
Note to self, I need to commission some art of a scene like this, but with Xeno Trunks instead of Blunks, and Luffa in Mai’s seat, kind of slouching all badass, maybe eating a lobster in one hand like it’s a burger.
I say this because this is the sort of thing I envision for Future Trunks and Future Bulma in the Time Patrol continuity.  I’ve been writing a fic about that for a while now, and they don’t get featured as much as I’d like, but I enjoy writing scenes where Bulma comes to Toki Toki City to check on the equipment, and she gets to spend time with her son and meet his rowdy ancestor.  Maybe this is why I hate the Zamasu Saga so much.  It’s precisely because Goku Black ruined this sort of happy life for these characters, and a story where that happens is the exact opposite of the sort of thing I wanted to see.
Tumblr media
So Trunks thanks them for the meal and heads home, feeling refreshed.  Seeing Gohan living the dream has reminded him of what he’s fighting for, and it proves that he can succeed.  The thing Trunks needs to understand is that all this peaceful stuff he finds in this world is thanks to him.  Beerus and Whis can scold him for meddling with history, but fuck ‘em.  In this world, Gohan got to live!  He has a wife and baby daughter!  And two arms!  Even if Trunks rolls snake-eyes for the rest of his life, no one can take away what he’s done for this world.
Tumblr media
When he gets back to Capsule Corp, he asks where Goku is, and they tell him he went with Beerus and Whis to Universe 10.  Wait what?   Yeah, when Goku Black fought the real Goku, Whis thought Black’s energy seemed familiar, and it reminded him of a guy he knows in Universe 10, so they’re going to check it out.
Tumblr media
And then we get a glimpse at this shithead.  I’m pretty sure this is the first and last time we get to see Zamasu keeping his mouth shut, so enjoy it while you can.

Honestly, Canon!Saga will hightail it the fuck out of Bright Falls first chance she gets. She may end up working for the FBC but will always be wary of Bright Falls. She will never like Alan for endangering her daughter and putting her through hell.
But I am a fan of transformative works—so this is me focusing on a different version of the characters.
In my version, Saga joins the FBC and, unfortunately, ends up joining the ExSpouse club along side Casey and Kirin as a result.
By this point, 5 years has elapsed and her daughter has started college (maybe even at a west coast school?). So, when the FBC asks her and Casey to relocate to Bright Falls to help resettle The Lake House—whose main mission is to explore/research the Dark Place, but now also potentially recover Doctor Darling—she agrees.
Casey agrees because Saga agrees.
He is technically semi-retired and only works for the FBC on a part-time basis, so he doesn’t go out on field missions a ton—but I like to think being possessed by the Dark Presence gave him some mild but handy parautilitarian abilities.
The one that makes him most valuable to the FBC, however, is his interesting bond with Alan—who seems to have become a figure who can pop in and out of different versions of reality at will via his writing.
The FBC would very much like to have Alan as a permanent member of their team—I’m not convinced they didn’t try to capture him for interrogation after the event of Alan Wake 2 but lost him after he used his own blood to write his way out of their cell someone got fired over that—but he’s keenly eluding them.
Alan has very little interest in helping the FBC, his primary goal is finding Alice and he’s pretty pissed at them for tossing him in a cell right after he escaped 13 years of imprisonment.
However, he does feel guilty about what he put Saga and Casey through, so he’s willing to help them (with them kind of acting as liaisons between Alan and the FBC, when they really need info).
Anyway, due to the metaphysical bond between him and Casey, Casey can sort of…summon Alan into their reality.
It’s similar but not as direct a method of communication as Saga’s Mind Place technique (which is still spotty if she and Alan aren’t on the same plane of reality) but functions by Casey essentially focusing on Alan psychically and appearing as one of Alan’s “echoes”—which Alan sees while feeling an overwhelming compulsion to appear before Casey.
The visions will become more and more intrusive and the pull stronger and stronger the longer Alan attempts to ignore the “call.”
While Alan has discovered he can shut out Saga if he really wants to, he simply can’t manage it with Casey—who delights in discovering he now has a certain level of control over Alan.
If Alan ignores the call for too long, the visions become an overwhelming cacophony and the pull so great—he’ll be ripped out of whatever reality he is in involuntarily and deposited right at Casey’s feet.
(Again, Casey loves getting to do this. He’s almost disappointed now when Alan comes without much of a fight.)
However, Alan also discover the easiest way to voluntarily hop between any reality is find an Agent Alex Casey (real or fictional, such as worlds where Alex Casey is played by certain Finnish actors) and simply write the words “Time to visit my old friend, Casey.”
Alan will then immediately appear within a certain physical proximity to whatever version of Casey he focuses on.
It takes him a while to figure out the physical distance directly correlates to how close emotionally he is to that version of Casey.
He doesn’t have to travel realities by that method—it’s just the simplest way to do it.)
So, anyway, the whole gang ends up operating out of Bright Falls.
And—even better—Ilmo wiggles his way into being the guy who supplies their headquarters coffee supply.
Maybe he gets Saga to vouch for him—and is actually on the FBC’s payroll as a look out for paranatural shit on top of providing them excellent coffee—but either way he’s regularly in their office.
Hijinks ensue.

WHY DID BULMA SLEEP WITH VEGETA? 🤔
Vegeta (who was currently evil & known to be a murderous & genocidal) had threatened to kill Bulma TWICE!! So... why the hell would Bulma get with Vegeta??
From what we are shown in the series, the only logical explanation I can come to is that Bulma has/had hybristophilia & autassassinophilia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(+ Bulma just goes after any guy & still flirts while married)
Hiromi Tsuru and the other Japanese voice actors couldn't even understand why Toriyama made Bulma end up together with Vegeta because it made absolutely zero sense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The pairing was completely illogical.
I'm sure Toriyama mostly did this just to shock & surprise his readers. Because if Vegeta wasn't randomly tied into the plot of this arc throught his connection to Future Trunks, then Vegeta would've had no purpose in the Cell saga & he likely would've been permanently killed off somehow.
Tumblr media
Also, Future Trunks was the reason that Vegeta began to turn good. It WAS NOT Bulma because Vegeta didn't care if she or baby Trunks died.
I hear too often that "Bulma tamed Vegeta" & that's just not true.
Technically, Trunks tamed Vegeta.

Akira Toriyama
My first anime were Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Inuyasha and Dragon Ball Z. They were all on air at the same time when I was really little. The first time I saw DBZ was when I was like, five years old. I had just come home from my morning kindergarten class and my older sister was in like 4th grad at that point, so I was home alone with my dad for most of the school day, I would sit at the living room table and turn to Cartoon Network. Toonami used to come on in the afternoons and I think this might have been a marathon. The first episode of Dragon Ball Z I saw as the second episode when Raditz had touch down on earth. I was so into this man with crazy big hair fighting this guy in a orange jump suit and a green alien. It was fast paced and fun. After that, I was hooked. My sister didn't really care for anime other than Sailor Moon, so she wouldn't play fight with me, but I didn't care much. I'd just watch TV and pretend to be fighting with Goku
I'm from a small village of about 3,000 people. I'm black and there were other black families, white families, Hispanic families, I think my sister had a Japanese friend at some point. It was a very mixed community and everyone was welcome and everyone had their quirks. I was the only person that really watched anime, but I didn't feel ostracized. That is, until we moved to the south side of Chicago where it was, like, a 99% black community and people weren't so open minded. And the kids were mean in a way I wasn't used to. It was hard growing up as a black girl that liked anime. It's still kinda hard now in some places, but I held on to my favorite anime and they helped me make the right handful of friends.
I remember watching Resurrection F and getting so excited for Dragon Ball again. I remember being really little and my dad buying VHS tapes because they were Dragon Ball Z and I'd really want them. At that time we didn't know that the VHS tapes were waaaaaayyyy ahead of the US airing of the show so I was confused when one tape was somewhere in the Cell Saga and the androids were there lmao I remember not being super into Super, ironically. I remember laughing at 2AM with my friend like a year or two ago when I found out there were characters named Granola and the Heeters and losing our shit about it. I'm looking forward to Daima and I really want to play Sparking Zero when it comes out. I saw an article a week ago where Toriyama was talking about how excited he was to be working on some projects.
And then last night about ten minutes after I came in from work, another friend on discord told us Akira Toriyama passed away. And I was in disbelief, cuz ain't no way he died. He has so much going on and was looking forward to. And I think that's what made me cry after a while last night. He was so excited, so happy and so in love with what he did. Thinking about how he won't be able to work on these things anymore and see them come to fruition made me so sad. I was sad for his family for losing a loved one so suddenly and keeping that to themselves and grieving for a week before sharing it with the public. And then finally, I cried for that huge chunk of my life that was shaped by Akira Toriyama.
He didn't just make an anime or a cartoon, he made childhoods. He was an inspiration. So many mangaka we have today were influenced by him. Oda, my favorite manga and anime creator Kubo, Kishimoto. the creators of the big three, all point to Toriyama as their biggest inspiration. Without Toriyama, the world of anime would look very different. A lot of out lives would be very different. He is the reason why a lot of us began to draw, or learn Japanese, or get into making music. Yeah, we might not have known him personally, but he still touched our lives in some way, whether you are a Dragon Ball fan or a Chrono Trigger fan, or something else in between.
So, don't feel embarrassed or silly for mourning the death of a technical stranger. He did a lot for the medium and a lot for us fans. It's only natural to feel saddened when someone like that passes away. Same for when Kazuki Takahashi passed or Stan Lee. Yeah, I might have clowned Dragon Ball Super, but it didn't really matter. Toriyama was doing another victory lap at that point. He truly did it all. He did so much work that I think I can really say rest easy and in peace.
Thank you Akira Toriyama for creating a safe space for me when times were tough I faced really harsh bullies. When things were really looking down, I could think of Goku's goofy smile and turn on an episdoe of Dragon Ball Z and feel a little better. Thank you for being such an inspiration to myself and other creators I look up to. Thank you for working so hard, you did amazing work.

Warning: I'm on my Fanfiction Shit again. You are about to see more of my bullshit thought processes:
Well, given how at least a couple of people liked the previous post I did about that picture I commissioned (shout out to @thenovika), I figured you’d like to know I have theory-crafted an AU off of it (I already had some of the details in mind when coming up with the image to begin with, but I finally came up with the incident that kicks it off).
And while I admit some of this might be a stretch, and might need fleshing out, this is the basic conceit I have for what I guess I am going to be calling the “Burnout” AU, if only because given how I have things play out, I can’t help but be cute with the name.
And spoilers, this is technically a “Bad End” scenario born out of a lucky break.
If the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, then a tragedy is formed out of a silver lining.
The main linchpin to start off?
Mimic dies during “Bad Guys”.
When Starline is busting everyone out of prison, offering to let them in on, instead of a team, but a “business partnership”, rather than out and out agree, Mimic pretends to agree, but at the first opportunity after getting let out of his cell, Mimic jumps Starline, causing a struggle. Since Starline would’ve expected something like this happening, he cuts his losses.
He kills Mimic then and there, and leaves his body behind as a warning: “I mean business, do not underestimate me.”
The rest of the mini-series plays out more or less as before, minus one player. Starline's Plan A failed, so he decides to kidnap two people and play Frankenstein with them.
(This analogy might come back later, as an aside; besides, literally, Starline was basically Frankenstein, and Surge and Kit are both the Creature. I am not wrong.)
Word of this funnels back to those at the Restoration, and in particular, Whisper.
If you recall, she left after she found out Mimic escaped, as she felt her still being there was now a liability; as such, while she would have trouble fully processing the fact he was dead (even knowing there was a physical body left behind), she would eventually, eventually feel comfortable enough to start moving on, and stay. Her staying means Tangle stays.
Fast forward to the aftermath of “Battle for the Empire”: Starline is fucking dead, Sonic, Tails and Belle have left with Kit, and Surge is in the wild with the Dynamo Cage, and has made it to Central City.
Since Whisper and Tangle haven’t left, they are off doing a different mission for the Restoration, so Whisper is nowhere near Central City to take Surge on, and Jewel hasn’t gotten in contact yet with Sonic and Tails.
However, Blaze is close by (due to wanting to explore more of Sonic’s world while on her vacation), so she goes up to bat.
And… well, I already explained the next bit. Surge realizes she can use the Dynamo Cage to steal her opponent’s powers, albeit more so because this time, Blaze decided to strike her head on early into the fight with a fireball, and the cage sucked it up, something both opponents were shocked to see was possible.
It’s touch and go for a while, but then Surge manages to get her hands onto Blaze directly, and more or less rips the fire straight out of Blaze’s soul.
(This gives me the excuse to share the picture again, shout out to @thenovika once more.)
Tumblr media
Now, because Surge is full of fire instead of Wisp energy, things wind up taking a more drastic turn when Sonic and Tails show up; think that boss fight from Sonic Rush on hardcore mode, borderline Dark Phoenix saga shit. Surge isn’t just overcharged with energy, she has been exposed to some borderline next level otherworldly shit.
Tails’ plan in the original issue to knock her out isn’t able to work this time. Not even Kit showing up can change anything, Surge is too far gone, and is seemingly determined to burn down Central City, all while Blaze is clinging on to consciousness in the corner somewhere.
Eventually, Kit manages to get through to Surge, and the two escape to Starline’s base; Sonic and Tails go after. They need to get that cage off in order to save Blaze, even if it means teaming with Eggman.
But, something goes wrong.
During the final struggle to stop Surge, the same thing plays out: she overloads the cage in an attempt at landing the killing blow… and it explodes.
She’s engulfed in flames… and then isn’t. She’s dead.
Kit grabs her, opts to let the others drown, and leaves; Sonic, Tails, Eggman and Metal make it out alive.
Back at Sonic’s house, Blaze snaps back awake… but is still grey. She feels something break inside her.
What none of them realize yet is that, because of the catastrophic failure of the Dynamo Cage, that power had not left Surge. When she died, it died with her.
Frankenstein's monster has died in a fire.
The keeper of the flame has just smoke left to her name.
And all of this is because the biggest asshole around got what was coming to him from the jump.

watching a video about masculinity and anime and what it is about anime that appeals to boys, and the video is good so far, but man whenever dragon ball is brought up in a discussion, i get this weird whiplash because the conversation always focuses on vegeta in ways that i feel shows a misunderstanding of dragon ball as a series.
this video in particular pointed out goku as an annoying protagonist with even more annoying fans, to then discuss the character development of...vegeta?
this is just a weirdly bizarre thing to say because vegeta fans are 100% louder and way more obnoxious about him than goku fans are about goku.
i think that vegeta's character development is highly overstated by most of the fandom and has always been that way, way before super came along and just made everything worse.
the dude is a villain for a good 85% of the show and really only truly comes around at the end of the boo saga. i would say that technically it was the end of the cell games, but boo saga kind of retroactively rewrites what happened there.
this video points out that vegeta eventually becomes a family man, specifically showing clips of him during the early android saga...which is pretty insane considering he almost lets his wife and newborn die a couple times throughout that saga and doesnt really seem to give a shit about it.
then of course the self sacrifice portion where he hugs trunks for the first time. the sacrifice is pointed out as noble even though vegeta was going to die no matter what, whether he blew himself up or not. the trunks hug is surely a new moment for him, but its sort of retread ground.
someone in the video also says that vegeta is more relatable because hes a character whose place was defined for him since birth but then he had to figure out his new place when he realized he wasnt the hotshot he thought he was, which...i guess is a reading for a character who was a genocidal prince who solved all his problems by just killing them. vegeta didnt want to be the super saiyan of legend because he thought he was destined to be a savior; he just wanted to replace freeza and did not want to be controlled.
i think vegeta's popularity amongst boys and men as a supposed hero is entirely unrelated to his actual growth; his character development is just used as a retroactive justification, but thats an entirely different essay.
like i said, i think the video is good so far, but ive always found analysis of dragon ball as a series specifically, especially by other men, to be sorely lacking.

Twilight Sex Ed — How Renaissance’s origin should have been & Why
By Dr. Juju MD (me) with a PHD in Twilight & Vampirism
Tumblr media
Firstly, I would like to preface this medical journal by saying this theory is not new nor mine originally (at least not within this reality. I have faith that the other versions of me have had the sense to think of this & much more beyond this version of me’s capabilities)
Now, let us start; The idea that ancient Edward Anthony Masen Cullen has never had sex, this harboring this single spermcell like a prisoner in his frozen junk is absolutely absurd. It is know by all that vampires have 3 core behavioral instincts!
The first is the Constant hunger, as the thirst for blood never qualms (what would the fun be in that? You want controlled immortality? Never!) secondly, the chaotic behavior — which varies depending on author & vampire type (classic vampire, ancient, hybrid, white, newly spawned etc) an example that seem befitting my point; pretending to be teenagers for years in hopes of fooling stupid humans into thinking you’re not an ancient vampire trying to get a few more years out of a tiny town where no fart goes ungossipped about. And lastly, whore behavior. All vampires are whores, even when they are not — they are. So, to think that Edward has gone this long without ever getting this ice cawk (penis) wet, is not only a mockery of vampires everywhere but a mockery of the readers intelligence. This means the single sperm is either clutching for deer life or something else is at play. I vote for the latter!
Instead of a single cell fighting for its life till it found Miss Bella Swan Cullen, think of it like this; Due to derange bloodthirst, vampires rarely try to sleep with humans — unless they are into some sick necrophilia, as the focal would go from hornyness to hunger very fast, not much documentation or experimented have occurred. So, if Bella (young fertil human woman) sleeps with Edward (young freezing whore vampire) & no protection is worn — would it not make sense that sperm would do what sperm does? We are already stretching the fabrics of reality, so please hang in there. Yes, Edward is dead — but the idea of hybrids have never been denied within the Saga nor many vampire lore — there is no need too, as I said, vampires don’t spend much time tossing sheets with humans. But if it did happen, I theorize that a child would be the result. A child who is half vampire, thus a child who would need blood to survive. Instead of killing it, Bella decided to keep her spawn (Mormonism won, because in my reality Bella would have been at the vampire Clinique seconds after throwing up #TeamFuckthemKids) They fed her with blood, keeping the baby away from her own supply of natural blood. This baby grew untill there was not much space or strength left in Miss Bella. Human children take longer to make, but this is not a regular case — with a bigger & thirstier child, giving birth is a must, but seeing that the baby drains Bella by the second (again, unquenchable thirst) she is unable to even stand let alone birth. This results in her death (RIP) but before she is lost to the world, the turning process begins. Renaissance survives, because she is done growing — she was possibly done growing after a few hours & if left longer I think Bella would have birthed her age mate. Bella is turned by the vampire fluids, a complex but plausible process. The mingling bodily fluids did not only ensure the baby was always going to survive, but the mother was too. And there we have it — plausible vampire hybrid bearing!
Now, to an important part to all of this; This could technically work with any human & vampire, as long as the human was the child bearer. A baby cannot grow in a vampire womb as it is too cold & there is no nourishment (aka they can’t eat their mom) so, technically if Rosalie was truly the bad shit crazy girl we know she could be, she would have stopped become #2 mom to CGI, and found herself a look-alike, had Emmett do his thing & made sure the human womb got as far (or even further) as possible before getting her own child. This would though require she kills the human after the turn (if transformation is completed) — which I fo not think would pose a problem. This is could be huge, and the fact that there was a whole medical Vampire in the household yet no solid plausible conclusion was drawn is Mormonism to blame (derogatory).
Now, this could give us more books — Rosalie short stories, maybe Esme want’s her own mini babies too & I am sure Aro would not rest till he had an army. Is this a very dark turn for the Saga? Yes, but I am also a horror fan & this is my post, so *shrug*.
Lastly, the imprinting should have not went down how it did. Jacob should have been madly obsessed with Edward (he was, but more so how he was with Bella) & THEN nicknamed their daughter after the Lochness monster. And no kissing of the newly born rapidly growing hybrid CGI baby! strictly big brother protector & little sister cute wholesome content (a sick woman she is, sigh)
In conclusion, the idea of a vampire pregnancy — despite teen YA pregnancy being nothing but misery for all parties involved except the author, it could have been a very interesting turn of event with much more to offer. But how would the patriarchy have won yet again?
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. If you are confused, no you are not. I believe in you & that beautiful big brain of yourse! Stay safe, red twilight & re-write whatever you deem emotionally damaging to know peace! Goodbye
Xoxo, Dr Juju MD

Writing rambling, it's just long so it's a readmore & only like 2 friends care about this anyway.
I kinda hate catching up on my work (writing) so to speak, because then I get into that "now what?" mode & it drives me bananas. I've forgotten a bit of where I wanted my Digimon junk to be headed to since I quit working on it for about a year while job hunting, & now I'm just... drawing a blank. DBZ fic has longterm plans since it's a lot of original junk, but also attached to canon events, so it can go on indefinitely depending on how much timeline fuckery I am willing to plan & pull (a fairly major amount, possibly to Cell Saga, tbf).
Digimon is 100% my own stuff in a universe based on lore of the setting, but otherwise original, so it's a bit harder to work with for longterm "why is this happening" narrative overall. There's also just the bumpy road of how long can you reasonably write for what is basically a group of antagonists (in both writings) for an extended period of time & not have much for them to rub against? Devimon/Neodevimon for all intents & purposes is our main character, & thus antihero... if ONLY on the grounds that he initially is not NEARLY as morally corrupt & fucked as everyone else around him & thus is in opposition by sheer technicality. However, that does NOT last with his character & he very quickly becomes just as bad, & does not directly oppose this in the setting, either. He doesn't know better, & doesn't have anyone now to tell him otherwise (prior to say, when he was Angemon). Older writings didn't have this 'issue', as he was dealing with a lot more other positive influences & wasn't barely leaning into what I would say is strong Lawful Evil until much later. Asshole, sure, but not actually active bad. Yet. Now it's like- well, he's pretty damn bad from the get-go & you're never rooting for him. I don't WANT readers to do so, no. However, for longterm writing, it's sort of a "well, what now" with that, I guess. We're sitting here just watching to see how bad he gets & that's about it now (not that I don't know a few of you actually love that about Neo).
Normally not too much of an issue for me, but... I've forgotten the major later plans I had for Digimon shit involving a planned Piedmon, who would be a foil & issue for Baalmon, the then-most-powerful guy of the territory in this setting, if not only due to his advanced programming language BS with magic being too hard to counter by most "basic" gen-1 Digimon (so to speak). Devimon is a weakling, I'll tell you that much. There's a reason why he, as what is usually a powerful & fairly 'unique' species in (canon lore) is being pushed around by higher up Dark types. So. Baalmon has to die, eventually. Spoilers, I mean, but it comes up very early in the writing with more than one character suggesting there is something deeply wrong with him & that he's been tinkering with his natural lifespan for some reason. Hmm. Baalmon also has stolen something very important.
What the FUCK was I planning with the dimensional clown, though. Gdi it's driving me bananas. Piedmon is a BIG DEAL in lore. I wouldn't have chosen this in my notes for no good reason. Yet, for some reason it seems like I just didn't save the end of this notes document at the time, which is unlike me. I guess I'll figure it out.
I gotta go to work.

6. Which saga is your favorite?
OOH tough one. it's neck and neck between namek and cell but i think namek is just barely #1 overall. watching goku go ssj for the first time really gave me a sense of how sacred it was, and it was interesting to see how the Legendary™ super saiyan state was only achievable (besides the first one who destroyed himself in the process) by a saiyan with righteous anger over the death of a loved one! and of course this was triggered by krillin getting murdered in front of him, but goku suddenly owns the fact that he's saiyan here despite him pushing that heritage away since the beginning which is probably attributable by vegeta's dying wish to him shortly before. ALSO piccolo's homecoming to namek was one of my favorite parts, it's one of the first times he realizes that he's not cruelly alone in this world after his connection with gohan. the main point-- there's a LOT of really good character development in this saga :'3
7. Which saga is your least favorite?
i mean technically i've only watched 3 of them so far so i think after process of elimination it's saiyan saga lol. i don't dislike it tho it's so iconic! after everything everyone's told me about buu saga tho... that might change lmfao. BUT VEGITO
21. Which Bulma hairstyle is your favorite?
def right after saiyan saga lol but her hair during cell games is a close second tbh :3 (EDIT: I ACTUALLY KINDA LIKE HER HAIR IN SUPER)

by the way do you know I’m going to make an anime called Nautica & lycoris cozy in it the prime timeline cozy and her name is Cozetta and you do know I meant to say give cozy empathy and a conscience and the pain would be from guilt it’s not brainwashing but giving her the tools to reform if she chooses to and you say How do you go about redeeming someone who wants to end all life on the planet 1 name Vegeta from dbz he killed planets and if it’s starlight sunset will be upset Cozetta can take i
The thing is with the Dragonball example there's two factors with Vegeta here. Not only was mass-genocide normal for Saiyans. Like, apparently even before Frieza placed them under his whim it was just something they did for fun. Frieza obviously was more than happy to condone it.
And by all means Saiyan/Namek saga Vegeta was a bad guy. And many of his kills are more than likely implied to have stayed. Including many of the innocent ones. There's no denying that, and even the most diehard Vegeta fans would say that's the truth. I would however say that Vegeta isn't the Dragonball example to be comparing Cozy to. I'd say that IDOTS Cozy is more of a Kid Buu situation with maybe a little bit of Cell in there. Obviously Cozy isn't as powerful as either of those villains, but they're both created/"parented" by villains (Bibidi/Babidi and Dr. Gero) that are probably as fucked up inside as their creation, the goal of total destruction is in line with Kid Buu along with the evil intelligence that lets her manipulate and seeking more power like Cell. (We should also keep in mind that while Buu is said to be like hundreds if not thousands of years old, Cell is technically 6)
I suppose then maybe you'll point out Kid Buu was reincarnated into Uub. But let's say what do you do if that's likely not possible. As reincarnating requires death to happen first, and it's clear on what happens when someone evil dies in the IDOTS universe that isn't possible to just have them become sentient again. From the moment an evil character dies in the IDOTS universe, any sentience they have is gone and they become dark magic that ravages a part of the planet.
The other factor is that while there is an afterlife in the IDOTS universe. Death is not curable by looking for seven trinkets and wishing from a magic dragon that they could be restored back to life good as new. Spirits stay spirits, death still has a consequence. I'd consider myself a fan of Dragonball, but I'd understand people having the criticism of the franchise that it treats death like just a slap on the wrist for it's recurring characters after all that happens. Even major deaths that are initially made to be a big deal such as Goku's sacrifice against Cell are eventually reversed when it came time for the Buu Saga and thus kept Goku alive to eventually make both GT and Super.
As much as it is cool that Dragonball got to have more new stuff as of late. It does seem like it ruins just about the perfect ending when it seemed like the savior of the earth was being passed down to Gohan from then on. Doesn't help that poor Gohan has been pretty much humilated most of the time since. Sure he got to beat up Super Buu real good, but then he had the drop the potara earring moment before he too was absorbed, and being tossed aside in Resurrection F like trash. Dragonball Super Hero has helped alleviate this somewhat, but those years of Gohan losing the spotlight back to his father aren't suddenly gone because of the new Beast Gohan form.
And while the ability to speak with the spirits of the deceased itself kinda treats death with a slap of the wrist as well. It's not as simple as they're alive again after a wish as in Dragonball. The best that can be done possibly, is what is brought up in the Sunspark story where potentially living beings willing to share their bodies with a spirit can be the closest to them being alive again (And a recommended period of splitting before the end of the 3rd day after the merger). Though even from that point, it should be noted it's recommended that both parties are willing to a merger even in that case.
The problem with your assumption of "tools to reform" with IDOTS Cozy is she would never choose to if given the chance. She played a willing part in the death of Sunset, and thus was a part of why Starlight was led down a dark path. There is no current path to unpetrifying Cozy under those circumstances that wouldn't cause issues. Even empathy must have it's limits. Starlight and Chrysalis each have tragic circumstances that they couldn't do much about, and compare with eachother to begin a bond with eachother as they got to know the other more as they never actually had the time to speak with one another while they were simply being a hero and a villain.
Trying to reform IDOTS Cozy on the other hand, is like any of us trying to reform the most unashamed Neo-nazis you can find on the internet.
And I know you keep mentioning whatever this Cozetta fic is, and that's perfectly fine. You don't have to have a Cozy that agrees with the IDOTS interpretation. I do not wish to make everybody think Cozy is an irredeemable monster in all cases. That's just the direction I decided to take her in this MLP AU. The show didn't give us alot of backing on Cozy, so it's possible to give her a more sympathetic backstory (Although I do think that's hard to reconcile with the fact she was sent to Tartaurus next to Tirek) if you really want to. I don't even think the canon Cozy was meant to be as evil as I'm interpreting in IDOTS. Everyone is allowed to take Cozy any direction they want with any fics that take place after the show. The idea is just not to demand people restrict themselves to a "popular" interpretation of Cozy as if that's what all Cozy fics should be like.
I've said it before, I have no ill will against Cozy as a character. I only took the direction I did since it fit with the story I wanted to tell. I have never intended to shame the character or any fans who prefer a more positive outlook on Cozy. The goal is IDOTS Cozy to be the irredeemable monster, while she co-exists just fine with Cozy's from other fanfics and/or stories that do have a Cozy capable of change. If you've seen Pony tumblrs for years, you should know of a practical multiverse where even the most goody-goody MLP characters are portrayed as unashamed serial killers (Namely most grimdark blogs with Pinkie as the main character). If you can keep that in mind, that's all you have to get to understand.

Oh! Didn't know that Saiki K. is a Shounen. Aside that, what are your opinions on that anime? On another note, In terms of fan fiction, what are the fandoms that you actively read on? Do u have recommendations?
Saiki K:
Saiki K is a lot of things. Personally, my brain classifies it as slice of life/comedy FIRST AND FOREMOST but it is also technically a shonen (and yeah, it was published in Shonen Jump.) It’s simultaneously a lot like MP100 and yet also NOTHING like MP100.
In terms of the anime, I have a lot of fun with it! Honestly it’s super overwhelming on first watch because there is SO MUCH overlapping dialogue happening so fast that it’s tough to catch if you aren’t a super fast reader (sub) or are keen to absorb all that stimulus (dub) but I do enjoy it greatly as just something fun and funny and relatively easy to consume (speed of quips notwithstanding). Shun Kaido and his “eighth grade delusion” self in particular charms me as much as it makes me feel bad for him or embarrassed to have to witness him, but honestly the friendships he strikes up with with Aran (who is… likely my favorite. Because delinquent.) and Saiki in particular make me smile. Actually, over time, pretty much all the characters grew on me so even though Miss Ganguro transfer student is my favorite girl, I do also believe in Teruhashi supremacy at the same time. (…If it matters, I also believe Saiki himself is the king of all tsunderes since if he really didn’t like the people around him, he could simply make them cease to be OR change his life so that it wasn’t very particularly structured as a slice of life comedy manga/anime.)
Fanfiction list under the cut.
Fanfiction:
Ah. Well, this is tough… there are SO many good stories out there, Anon. But whatever fandoms I am writing for also tend to be what fandoms I am reading for. The exception seems to be that when I miss a character badly enough I will loop back and re-visit those fandoms, hahaha. Usually this means I revisit the Legend of Zelda recent submissions and scour it for non-Zelink and General content ha ha ha!
Right now, I’m mostly sticking to BNHA/MHA content because that is also what I am writing.
Generally I prefer things that are canon-compliant, canon-adjacent, or AUs that hold very closely to canon or painstakingly careful considerations to characterization… with a few exceptions (I am not quite as self-limiting with Bakudeku/Dekubaku content, though I’m still horribly picky about it.) My Ao3 bookmarks (and most of my Ao3 history, though I don’t curate it as well to junk the ones I clicked on and immediately backed out from) can also function as recommendations, but I’ll list a few favorite authors:
Chymerical (Gen and Bakudeku. I really appreciate Diamond Grind so much but Twice in a Lifetime makes me laugh the most. Absolutely incredible author.)
Kanthia (Legend of Zelda and Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z. Honestly, they’re a personal fandom hero to me and major inspiration. Recently published more post-Cell-Saga stuff that I absolutely ADORED.)
young_crone (A NSFW BKDK author. My favorite is One Day at a Time, the one where their air conditioner breaks and nothing actually happens besides both of them being total dumbasses about handling their day onwards, BUT everything they write is just beautiful. It doesn’t matter to me when they stray farther from their original characterizations because they are just THAT good at doing what they do!)
Seeress (BKDK. Many stories. A little, um, sweeter and more domestic than I usually favor for BKDK, but hey! They’re great! Some are hit-and-miss for me, but I have a special soft spot for Panacea and Let Me Assist You Personally.
MySecretFandomMoments (BKDK, KRBK, TDBKDK. Read Big Protien. Read it right now.)
SmartiMart (Bakudeku, EraserMic, Dadzawa content. By far the most relatively “sappy” author recommendation on this list, but there’s so much energy, real love, and joyful passion in all of their stories.)
Sour_Idealist (BKDK and General. I have a VERY high opinion of their work and wish I could be like them. My favorite is actually a fic that is a meeting between Todoroki Rei and Hawks called Hope That Soul is Changing. It’s fantastic.)
Pikahlua (yeah, like @pikahlua. Someone who writes detailed meta about a series usually brings the same insight and love of the canon material into their work.)
Rironomind (One Punch Man GenoSai and BKDK. Includes an experimental piece for BKDK that I… like I can’t tell you what happened and there’s no way to experience it and I ahsidoemeosoek anyway Colourless Saitama and his Years of Training as well as Mouth in the Door - which is an original work - are my favorites.)
Roadtripwithlucifer (BKDK. Despite several of these authors having a large proportion of NSFW in their works, I somehow want to say she’s the horniest of all my listed authors. Also plays the most fast and loose with most AU concepts, but like. There’s something comforting and very “fanfiction for fanfiction’s sake” about it that I just find super appealing. THAT SAID my favorite is Zero-Sum Game which is a completely and intentionally fucked up story but does earnestly take a lot of the core parts of the BKDK dynamic, crank them up to MAXIMUM VOLUME, and then perform surgery on them under a microscope in front of a live audience.)
Honestly? There are SO many more out there. I stuck to BNHA and BKDK authors predominantly because it’s where I’m at recent to you asking, but there’s always more…

You say Goku is a better father than Piccolo but Piccolo called him out in the Cell games.
Ignoring the fact that Piccolo did literally the same thing in the Saiyan saga (and the Freeza saga, if you wanna be technical).
