Writing Problem: The Narrative Falls Into a Repetitive Pattern
Problem: The Narrative Falls Into a Repetitive Pattern
Solution: Does the story begin at the right point? Are the characters introduced in scenes where they exert the right influence? Are the novel's emotional beats consistent (or meaningful)? What's the tempo like? Is the pacing balanced and purposeful at the sentence level, scene level, and act level? Is the story's use of description unique and dynamic? What's the difference between the author voice, the narrator voice, and the character voice? Be as flexible or inflexible as needed, but above all, be willing to learn.

“doctor who is well written” if you say so i guess “doctor who proved trans girl magic is real and features the penultimate bestie relationship and david tennant is openly having the time of his life” now this we can’t possibly refute

okay, that's it, i am thoroughly obsessed with this episode. existensial crisises with mr. callum. suvi making a choice that is effectively a betrayal of her friends for the values of the citadel. the fox's sheer utter chaos. ame blowing up the system to make it out of the citadel on time. eursulon's mastery of the dimension door fire. you are magic, and it is you. the reappearance of the stranger, the man in black. kalaya's burrow at the base of a fire tree. that brutal cliffhanger of an ending. IT'S SO GOOD.

give me more fics where Eddie runs into Steve and Robin, running around after being drugged (and tortured) by the Russians at Starcourt. Steve, dopy and sweet and acting like dumbest puppy- and did i mention his face was beat in? Robin, flailing all over steve and giggling with him as they sway, more intertwined than humanly possible, eyes unfocused. and Eddie, faking calm as he tries to herd them to a bathroom and planning to kill whoever drugged his these loopy sailors that he’s been annoying all summer.

what i find most attractive in people are signs of life
crows feet and laugh lines and bushy eyebrows and grown out haircuts
scars and tattoos and chipped nail polish and floppy ear lobes and still-open piercings that you just don’t wear anymore
scuffed shoes and clothes you’ve had since high school and that green stain on your fingers and neck from cheap jewelry
proof of life!!! so breathtaking!!!
humans!!!
you were somebody, and you are somebody, and you will continue to be!!
