*bracing myself on my knees and trying to breath, nursing a cramp*
I got here as fast as I can. I just wanted to point out that THIS…
Is one of the gayest fucking lines of television I’ve heard in my life.
Even if the presence of the song itself somehow wasn’t a flashing spotlight enough, the literal voice of God directly draws attention to it. Telling us that in universe, a nightingale really is in fact singing in Barkley square, and to know its music is sweet regardless of if we can hear it. Just like there are really in fact angels (one fallen but we’ll let it slide) dining at the ritz, and they’ve been falling in love regardless of if they’ve been allowed to openly pursue that feeling.
And hell, maybe it’s BECAUSE of the traffic that the nightingale finally sings. Perhaps it wasn’t ready until it was sure no one else could listen.
it does something incomprehensible to my little writer’s soul whenever alex articulates a phenomenon of the writing process i’ve always picked up on and then goes on to describe it in exactly the same way
Oh my god elias pouting and grumbling all the way whenever he has to have a work trip. "I forgot my heart shaped pancake molds!!" "It really doesn't matter elias" "shut up peter you don't know shit" looking longingly out the window like......... I miss london...... Its too hot/cold/dry in here
LITERALLY. also i am going to make this about jonah being an extension of the institute once again. literally removing the heart from the body. he gets seasick he gets homesick he starts crying and refuses to do anything. you cannot take this man away from his institute!! he will die!!!
It's a sucky thought, especially since we got so little time with it while the Elemental Dragons at least got 3-4 seasons, but I've been thinking about it. The only times Lloyd gets extremely pissed is when it has something to do with his father (ending of Season 4, Seasons 8-10, etc.), with Crystallized showing this at its peak.
The thing is, I dunno if they'll be able to put Garmadon in life-threatening danger again for something like this to happen again. Maybe they'll explore Lloyd's darker side or have him start to get madder and learning to temper his anger, I dunno, but unless they have an arc like that or just have him able to turn it on at will (kinda lame), I dunno how soon we'll see it again, if we even do.
We'll probably see it again because of Rule of Cool and money reasons, but I still wanted to express my rambling thoughts on this shenanigan
[ID: college aged Dick Grayson, in his Robin costume, talking to Mr. Haly (the circus owner) after preventing a tragedy from occuring. Dick worriedly asks, “But what will you do now, Mr. Haly? With the damage caused by the fire you might have to sell out...” Mr. Haly reassures, “No, my boy, because for years I've been recoevin these checks — anonymously! Thanks to them, the Haly Circus will remain in my control!” He shows Dick the check, who instantly recognizes it! He thinks, ‘Hmmmm, that check comes from a bank where a certain Bruce (Batman) Wayne is a heavy depositor... What do you know!’ He tells Haly, “Well, you're still on top, Mr. Haly — and I have places to go!” END ID]
[While I don't hc that killers are completely barred from the campfire,
I do believe it's the only space they all get their powers nerfed to hell in order to stop them from fucking with the survivors too much. (So basically it weakens them down enough to force them to turn heel and gtfo)
So while I picture Wesker being able to approach it, he rarely does. He tends to avoid the woods surrounding it as well. He is defaulted to fear bright light because of The Entity's influence, but also came into The Fog with a fear of fire as well. So he's not interested in going near it.
The one and only time he has approached the Campfire (so far) is to hand off a cat that was left in the RPD realm.]
going insane thinking about a world where this line was meant to be said to beatrice
[ID: 3 screencaps of Lilith from Warrior Nun season 2. She is saying, “Come with me. Adriel will give you the freedom you’ve been seeking. You can finally be yourself without fear of consequence.” /end ID]
I decided to make my soul-sona for @federthenotsogreat ‘s story My Crown in Red (MCIR). I got inspired after reading so much of Feder’s lore for MCIR.
NuclearBlood (gender fluid) was born without their arms and has adapted to life without them. Growing up, NuclearBlood was interested in the history of radioactivity, nuclear bombs, nuclear plants, nuclear plant meltdowns, any precautions taken to minimize the damage, and the consequences of nuclear waste on wildlife/people for decades. He would always be caught reading a library book about uranium, going on websites about how far a range a nuclear bomb had and simulating it on different towns, and trying to devise their own bomb. This didn’t go over well with their school, but NuclearBlood didn’t give a shit.
This is reflected in her soul. NuclearBlood is extremely unpredictable. Most of the time he is calm, but you never know when she’ll blow up. She’ll hold details against someone or tear them to pieces (thanks to her good memory). And when they go off, it’s a shitstorm - buildings are destroyed and tainted with radioactivity, and the effects stay around for a long time. While the impact is more felt on locals of a universe, the radioactivity can slowly decay at the other souls’ power and health (but never kills, only slows down the process of regeneration). His blind eye can detect radioactivity levels. Her goal is to carry out nuclear bomb experiments on universes and connections between universes to see what happens.
He feels himself rotting; someone needs to stop her before she undergoes complete decay.
people acting like there isn't still very much an active stigma against cannibas and cannibas users is going to be my joker origin story
when i go to the doctor they still put cannibas use under the tab "substance abuse". not even just substance use. it is fully assumed that people who use cannabis, even as a prescription medication, are abusing it. just because you're friends with a couple of dumbass stoners doesn't mean that we've abandoned the idea as a culture that weed is a bad and scary and dangerous and highly addictive drug that will ruin your life if you use it once
Serot's own arsenal of spells and generally how he applies necrotic magic differs from modern day Anactaci. You can clearly see the foundation he laid, but it has been over a thousand years. The order has evolved considerably in that time. There's also the fact that he was reborn at level one and has structured his skills to suit his present needs, but [hand waves]
There are different sects and roles within the Anactaci who call on the Plane of Death in different ways, but certain generalities can be relied upon. Their magic is largely geared toward what would be considered divination. They are the bridge between this life and the next, the messengers of eternity. They commune both with the souls of the dead and with spirits — chiefly spirits / entities on the Plane of Death but spirits of all types, including those like Refhremmit. Indeed, every City of Eternity has one Anactaci dedicated to communing with their patron. It is a sacred office.
Beyond that, their magic is deeply focused on the soul and the threshold between life and death. They are adept at identifying and countering curses or maladies of the soul. They are adept at identifying and addressing possessions or spiritual attachments. The skilled can manipulate the ravages of time on a body or object (a skill shared with the Manthu). The most skilled of all can leave their bodies behind to inhabit ritually prepared objects; these become the teachers of the Anactaci and keepers of the deepest mysteries.
Yes of course, they animate and preserve corpses, either directly or by calling a spirit to inhabit it. This is part of Meketi funerary rites. But, simply making dead things move is only part of their skillset. Indeed, it's the most basic part.
Anactaci are bound by sacred oaths to turn their magic to holy purpose and with a thought for balance always. However, a truly irate or unscrupulous Anactaci could do serious damage. Particularly if they are skilled. Insidious curses and nigh-undetectable possessions (i.e. slowly driving a person to madness with ill luck or nightmares; far worse curses are possible). Yanking a person's soul directly from their body, either holding it captive or causing it to become lost. Learning secrets from spirits or from souls that can utterly destroy a person. Causing them to rapidly age, turning to sun-bleached bone before their eyes, one limb at a time. Or causing them to wither, then return to their correct age, then wither, then return to their correct age — over and over until they don't know whether they're alive or dead. If capable of severing their soul from their body, they can possess others directly, influencing or totally overriding their will. They might not touch a person at all; they might sap all life from their home instead.
Fortunately, such corrupt Anactaci are rare — and swiftly dealt with.
Having anxiety sucks oh my godddddd. Good news! Your doomsday end of the world paranoia is gone! Unfortunately it has been replaced with health paranoia 😐😐😐😐😐
Popular analog horror has gone down the antisemetism rabbit hole so I no longer feel bad about using a vaguely similar idea. I think we need a Jewish analog horror ARG in fact
Well. My evil run is turning out to be not so evil.
The issue is that even without amnesia, Estryd still desires to be free of Bhaal.
I imagine that she has had several periods of rebellion in her unnaturally long life, where she ran away from the temple and tried to resist Bhaal. They all ended pretty similarly; the Urge would win, she would murder someone (often someone she loved), and then the people around her would turn on her.
The only place that always welcomed Estrtd back was the temple.
Over the years, Estryd was worn down, and accepted Bhaal's destiny for her. She learned to revel in it even.
But now she's travelling with the tadfools. Who are all actively struggling with powerful or cosmic forces that want to control their lives. It's been uncomfortably familiar. It's made her bold.
I just did the Guantlet of Shar, fully intending to make Shadowheart a Dark Justiciar this time. But Shadowheart reminds Estryd so much of a younger version of herself. She's trying so hard to be faithful but is so obviously unsure. But Shadowheart still had a chance to get away, she wasn't bound to Shar by flesh and blood.
So Estryd persuaded Shadowheart not to kill the nightsong.
It makes sense for her story! But still! I've only made one outright evil decision so far.
This Estryd is a person who enjoys murder. She's not a good person. I'm so bad at doing evil runs I made an evil character who is doing the good path. What is this.
