🎭Welcome to the Great Glavenisean Theater🌹

I trail off into nothing, gazing into the dark. I can’t imagine what it would be like to work here amid the costumes both florid and divine, the great sets and musical scores, the cast and crew themselves. I can’t imagine it, and yet now, I want to. There is nothing on the ceiling above me, no prickling sensation at the back of my neck, no sensation of anyone watching me but Zachary’s mild eyes, studying me with benign intrigue.

“Will you?” he asks. “Come back?”

“Maybe,” I answer. It feels like a lie. I can taste the green memory of absinthe on my tongue.

“You should,” Zachary tells me. I look down at him spread out on the stage, his legs hanging over the edge. “You must know by now that we’re an odd family, but you wouldn’t regret it. There’s something enchanting about this place, so they say. Something magical even.”

Would you look at that! At 95k, seventeen chapters and four interludes, TGGT has a complete first draft! 

I’m so pumped to have this accomplishment under my belt. Keep an eye out in the coming couple months for a beta call~ I’ve got to reread everything, tweak some continuity bits and do a little trimming, but first I’m giving myself an immediate break to read a book or two and work on some other projects. They’ve been on a few dates now, and Zachary would say things had been going well. Rusty was a sweet guy, a bit odd at times, but his quirks had only made Zachary laugh so far, and allowed for him to be himself - something he never really got to be back home.

Moving across the pond had really allowed for his career, and side hustle, to take off. And now he was more relaxed. So here he was, in a nice restaurant with Rusty. Their meal was finished, Zachary had a little bit of wine to finish off, but he didn’t want things to end here. He was having a good time! And he didn’t want it to end. Not yet anyway. Perhaps they could head to a bar or somewhere else, but he wanted to gage how Rusty had enjoyed it. A little tipsy, the well-dressed blond gave a soft smile, “Thank you for tonight. I’ve had a great time.”

It wasn’t that Rusty didn’t do well in relationships, but mainly that he’s often viewed as too much of an oddball— which he resents! He’s the perfect amount of interesting quirks and literally no red flags, except maybe the fact he really loves cheese for some reason and will commit a massacre on a charcuterie board— Or the myriad of other quirks that made his ex-wife pull her hair out. Well, listen, she was a little controlling so their marriage collapsing is not entirely his fault—

But back on topic: he really liked Zachary. Rusty liked to think maybe he was too old for those butterflies in his stomach, yet there they were, fluttering about and making him smile all smitten like. 

Zachary just made him feel good. Like run a triathlon sort of good. “Well, I had a great time too. Thanks for lettin’ me take you out— as soon as I read that they used spherification here, I knew I had to check it out.” And of course there were more traditional dishes on the menu, but Rusty always wanted to try something weird or new or potentially dangerous. “You know that’s derived from algae, huh? Fascinating stuff...delicious too.”

His arm is eventually offered to Zachary, just in case the evening air was getting to him. Linking up, huddled closer together and sharing warmth, Rusty decides to be a little bold. “You wanna go to my place?” It’s not said too suggestively, Rusty always tried to come off as more friendly than he was frisky. “Just for after dinner drinks if you’d like. I can mix a pretty cool mocha Bailey’s thing...it’s stupid sweet but sooo good, y’know?”

Thursday 8th September 2022 of 23rd Week of Ordinary Time is the great feast of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her birth marks the moment when she who was to conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit and give birth to our Savior, Jesus-Emmanuel was born.

Who is Mary?

Why is her cult so passionate and universal and controversial to non Catholics?

Mary is the Only Child of Saints Joachim and Anne. She is the Mother of Emmanuel, God-with-us, Jesus "who will save his people from their sins."

Mary is the Woman of Genesis 3: 15:

"I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers;

They will strike at your head,

while you strike at their heel."

Satan hates Jesus and Mary with a deadly hatred. Satan, the Father of lies had his revenge in the 16th century in the Protestant Reformation.

The Blessed Virgin Mary was held in reverence by the Apostles and disciples in the earliest Christian communities. That may be why so little was said about her in the Gospels. In His mighty, merciful and mysterious Providence, it pleased God to keep Mary hidden for most of her 60 years on earth.

The Mother of Emmanuel was the only person who knew Jesus from womb to tomb. She was always there in the most important moments in the life of Jesus:

* Annunciation.

* Visitation to Elizabeth and Zachary.

* Birth of Jesus in the Manger.

* Visit of the Magi, the 3 kings.

* Presentation in the Temple and the encounter with the Prophet and Prophetess Simeon and Anna.

* The Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross).

* The Sacrifice of the Lamb of God at Calvary when it pleased the Father to make the Mother of His Son, our Mother through John the Evangelist.

* The Birth of the Church on Pentecost Sunday.

Mary was faithfully there in all the great moments! Accident or Providence? Mary's role in salvation history was planned by the Most Holy Trinity before the beginning of the world.

Thank you, Heather! This is from my fairytale AU! (as a sidenote, I know I kinda refer to Zack as "the Prince" a lot in this, and normally I wouldn't do it this much, but I know that since he's royalty, Henry would think and refer to him as his full name until they're at a point where he would feel comfortable otherwise but I hate calling him Zachary so I'm avoiding it as much as possible)

Also, this is still in the first draft phase, so keep that in mind!

Edit: just want to give a formal apology for how many times I used the word gazebo in the first half of this laskdjf I will definitely try to fix that by the final draft lmao

There was a gravel path that led straight from the doors to a gazebo, the path lined with perfectly manicured flower beds and the gazebo wrapped in so many vines and ivy that the paint underneath was barely visible. The lights emitting from the windows of the castle behind him would typically provide more than enough light, but they weren’t exactly necessary that particular evening. The full moon above was shining so bright that everything in the yard cast a shadow. 

Henry ambled down the walkway, making a quiet game out of identifying each flower as he went. As he stepped up onto the gazebo, he resisted the urge to roll his eyes, noticing upon further inspection that even the vines seemed to be placed just so. 

After a short while of silence, he heard footsteps, and he instinctively went on high alert as he turned towards the noise. He immediately released a breath and let his shoulders relax when he saw the soon-to-be King leaning against the entrance to the gazebo. 

He was wearing similar formal attire as a few nights before, but this time instead of appearing drunk and disheveled, he was still prim and put together. 

“I was hoping you’d show,” he mentioned with a smirk. He strolled up the steps, his eyes glued to Henry. "I would've sent you a personal invite. If only I knew your name," he continued, his tone obviously hoping Henry might bite. 

“I’m only here for my sister,” Henry snapped, feeling slightly remorseful as the Prince's face subtly fell, his eyes cast down for a moment. 

"Oh." 

The two stayed silent for a few beats, an awkward tension now hanging in the air between them. 

“You know, she's dying to meet you,” Henry continued, his tone slightly friendlier this time around, and the other boy’s gaze snapped to him once again. “She’s hoping you’ll make her your Queen,” he joked with a small smile. The Prince's lips curled into a grin as he took a step forward. 

“Is she pretty?”

“She’s thirteen.” 

“Never mind,” he replied hastily, taking a step back as he held his hands up in surrender. Henry couldn’t help the small laugh that escaped his throat then.
