Thinking about how in "Ship Happens," Corazóns excitement in describing how to be a pirate and why it's so cool and incredible was the exact same way his father acted about being a pirate in "Unreal Estate."

When Dob refutes all of his "normal" points about why he needs money:

"We need it to buy things"

"You throw it in a lake."

"I need shoes"

and tells him how he doesn't actually need gold and questions why he is so focused on money, he straight up isn't able to respond and its Egbert who says:

"He's a pirate, that's his whole deal"

Which he never refutes or agrees with because he knows it's a shallow reason and unpacking that would mean he'd have to confront how performative his whole life has been.

Also note how during his lesson he says nothing about actually being a pirate but instead the aesthetics and "doing whatever you want"

Fast forward to Extinction's finale where he gets rid of his old bejeweled eyepatch after removing the curse that was caused by his naivete and lack of actual knowledge in being a pirate.

I fell down the rabbit hole with discovering new music and then new-to-me old music, and then somehow circling back to familiar yet unknown music that I rarely search for. Music that my mom would play from her country in the background since my childhood.

I remember watching all of Laws backstory at work and when it all went down, I cannot tell you how HARD I tried to keep myself from sobbing. I cried but holy shit I would've been balling if I wasn't at work when I watched it

DAMN, I give you credit for watching it at work and crying silently because I was inconsolable those entire episodes, just full on weeping. Cora-san going from island to island, dragging Law around because he's *so* desperate to fix this kid, so desperate to give him a future knowing full well the second Doflamingo catches them, it's over for him and he refuses to let anything happen to Law.

Law finally realizing that this giant, clumsy dude is actually trying to help him and not hurt him? GOD just full on weeping. Absolutely heart breaking.

But if Law didn't have that trauma, we wouldn't have the Heart Pirates, we wouldn't have Shachi, Penguin and Bepo, or Ikkaku or Uni, or Clione or Jean Bart... we wouldn't have the Polar Tang and we wouldn't have the glorious Surgeon of Death.

Everything happens for a reason... right?
