I know this has been discussed before, but it’s interesting enough to me to be worth repeating . . .

The recent photos of Jared and Gen posing with others at the stem cell treatment facility as well as the photo of Jared and Gen at the coffee house chatting with the two women, leads me to believe that 1) the Padaleckis are down-to-earth enough that they venture out-and-about into the masses to live their lives; 2) the Padaleckis are famous enough (at least in their hometown of Austin) that they are recognized by people that they don’t know personally; 3) the Padaleckis are welcoming enough in their demeanor that people feel comfortable approaching them; and 4) the Padaleckis are human enough that they will engage with the common folk and pose for photos. This tells me a lot about Jared and Gen and who they are as people.

I have watched SPN and been a non-participating (lurker) part of the fandom for years, including at SPN_Goss and Tumblr, so I have seen a lot. I am not on FB, Instagram or Twitter, and I don’t follow any of the cast. I only see what’s posted on fan sites on Tumblr (some of which are admittedly anti-Jensen), so someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think there are often similar sitings and interactions with the Ackles. This leads me to think that 1) the Ackles are not out-and-about as often; 2) the Ackles are not recognizable when/if they are out; 3) the Ackles are not as approachable if they are recognized; and 4) if the Ackles are approachable and engage, they may not consent to a photo or they may ask the person not to post the photo on social media. The only other reason I can come up with is that maybe people just don’t care, but I know that won’t go over well with the AAs.

This is just something that occurs to me every time I see a photo with Jared (and Gen) and a fan out in the wild. I love that he isn’t afraid to engage with people and I love that people always post about how kind and friendly he is. It does make me wonder about the comparisons between the two men though. Perhaps Jensen just isn’t as recognizable and famous as his super-fans think he is and perhaps Jared, with his more mainstream TV and film career, is.

I think there's a lot of truth in your observations. Thanks for sharing! To your question, I do follow some people who post Jensen and Jared fan interactions, and you're right that there are certainly more fan photos with Jared. Jensen content tends to come more from people he's worked with as opposed to fans out on the street.

There are definitely some interesting comparisons into how each couple handles recognition/fan interactions. Of course, I'm not going to say one way is better than the other as every celebrity should be allowed to interact within their comfort level. (And frankly, seeing how obsessed some of Jensen's fans are, I don't blame him for staying under the radar.) I do appreciate Jared and Gen's willingness to interact with fans and I hope someday I can meet them!

It's unsurprising how many comments I saw on photos from Jared's USO tour that mentioned different shows Jared's been on, including Gilmore Girls, SPN, Walker, Friday the 13th and House of Wax. It helps that GG and SPN frequently make the weekly top 20 of streaming shows. Jared is very recognizable despite looking nothing like his teenage self from GG!

Dean and Cas should have gotten to poke fun at Sam’s career choice more often. When Cas is annoyed, his response is always ‘ok law boy’ with an eye roll. Anytime Sam utters ‘so get this’, Dean and Cas rush to be the first to object. Dean threatens to sue Sam anytime he interrupts his alone time with Cas. The party city wig was actually one of those white British judge wigs.

listen in my heart of hearts I am a Dean girl and no I will not be taking questions. i genuinely think jackles has one of the most fascinating faces to watch and he has his micro expressions down to a science and he’s fantastic etc etc. But the one thing he utterly sucks at is sympathy face. I mean. I'm not up to date about what Jensen is up to these days.

But I saw that he is or was in good old Vancouver. And that he seems to visit old working buddies/friends.

FYI: On his left (your right) that's Jason Checcini (he was a Stuntman and Stand-In on SPN Set, but also became Buddy with J2).

He uploaded over the years pics with them.

On the other side is Justin Hartley (former co-actor from Smallville. Justin played Green Arrow).

The woman is Sofia Pernas his wife and also actress.

Jason seems to working on the set of his show "Tracker", because he also is buddy with Justin.

But I think they also know each other back from Smallville, where he also worked.

The new pics with Jensen also saw some other old SPN related person.

i don't mean to ruin the fun but prior to last year jensen rarely, if ever, posted about dean's birthday and the birthday bash itself was done up not by him but by the cast of TW. it's not surprising (or a betrayal) that he didn't post today. i really don't mean to burst anyone's bubble but the dude just isn't as unhinged and insane as you want him to be. he is, unfortunately, mostly normal.

The problem with the way AA's are dealing with this Amazon news is that they are trying to compare Amazon to the CW. But what they need to be comparing is Amazon to WBD. CMP didn't work for the CW. TW wasn't a CW show. Both were WBD commodities. Now that they were let go from WBD and TW is all but officially DOA they are scrambling to make this move a "step up" to prove they're still "winning"

I'd be shocked if I saw any of them actually express disappointment at CMP moving to Amazon. I think they're blinded by the fact that it's the streaming services that tend to get most of the awards nowadays, which in their minds, means greater opportunities and more clout. What they fail to realize is that streaming services, particularly Amazon, suck at being television studios. Pay is crap, organization is all over the place, shows are canceled after 1 or 2 seasons with no reasons given so there's no job security. At least with the WB, they were with an established studio (100 years strong), with opportunities outside of the volatile streaming arena. Of course, the Ackles also wasted those opportunities, so Amazon it is, but for AAs to think it's better? Not happening.

Dean at the beginning of the episode and the end had different hairstyles and clothes, and seemed to be acting different.

Dean was very cagey about the truth. If this was another universe in the mulitverse, why not at least admit his name was Dean? He didn’t have to give his last name.

Lata was the one who suggested the multiverse theory. All Dean said was that he was ‘between worlds’. Didn’t mean it was another Earth. That he was dead and not of this world. He could have been of that world, when he was alive. But he’s neither alive or dead. He hasn’t been born and he’s also been dead.

Chuck is supposed to be powerless. How could Chuck have activated something like the akrida? He lost but not in a way that would have meant anything. His power wasn’t destroyed, it was transferred over. And if he did activate it, why zero in on Lebanon, KS in the 70s. This seemed way to focused on Dean then anything else.

Dean’s still meddling. He gave Mary the Colt and told her to use it on a ‘yellow-eyed demon’. I doubt that’s what Jack intended for him to do with it. And, in fact since Chuck is no longer at the wheel, why would Azazel even know about Mary unless she’s put between his crosshairs like Dean is doing? I don’t think that’s what Dean is intending but he’s only thinking about how to ‘improve’ this timeline.

There’s more to this story, clearly. More things Dean isn’t telling us nor the Scoobies. More things that were left unsaid and absent.

It’ll all come full circle in due time.

So... how much of a clusterfuck was The Winchesters finale?

A massive one, in my humble opinion. This show turned out to be a classic bait and switch. It got sold to the audience as one thing, but with the conclusion turned out to be something else completely.

Let's just start off with the biggest issue - the story of John and Mary and how their love saved the world? Complete bullshit. John and Mary had nothing to do with the final conclusion of the series. They were not even the John and Mary that we grew to know and have deeply conflicted feelings about. They were an alternate version, existing in one of the many alternate universes that Chuck liked to play with. They weren't Sam and Dean's parents and might not ever come to have a Sam and/or Dean of their own.

This is, IMO, exceedingly sloppy writing. We knew from the very start that this was the most likely scenario, as there was no way that TW would fit in with original SPN cannon without massive retcons so this allowed the writers to basically thrown cannon into the shredder because nothing mattered. They could screw around with the mythology and do whatever they wanted because it's an alternate universe. As a writer, this pisses me off because even when writing AUs, there need to be some ground rules to connect with the premise of the original series. This just gave them an out for poor research and sloppy writing.

Which brings us to another major problem. How was there an alternate universe for Dean to play around in when we were told in the final season of SPN that Chuck had destroyed every reality except for the one that our Sam and Dean existed in. Unless Jack went out of his way to create a universe for Dean to jump into, there was no way for this to work with SPN lore. If Jack was now God and could fix all of the damage Chuck had done, why didn't he just deal with the Akrida? Why did Dean need to step in to protect the reality that Sam was currently still living in?

Then we have the biggest issue and that was how Dean was used. Or rather, Jensen since there wasn't a whole lot of Dean there. When the series was first announced and Jared's/Sam's fans were livid that he was being completely excluded from the series (and hadn't even been told that Jensen was ready to move ahead with it before the announcement was made), we were assured that this was all about John and Mary and that Dean would be, at most, a passive narrator. That Jared wasn't deliberately excluded and all would make sense. Well, it did make sense that we were lied to. Whether they realized that trying to make the show about John and Mary just wasn't resonating with the audience and tossing Dean into a more active role was something of a hail Mary, or this was the plan all along, Dean ended up being not just the McGuffin, but the hero of the story. He gets to save the day and all of reality.

This makes it painfully clear that this show wasn't about trying to explore other stories in the SPN universe. This was about Jensen's ego. That he was still upset that his character wasn't the last man standing, even when he admits that narratively it made more sense for Sam to be. This was about giving him the opportunity to be the big solo hero without having to share screen time with Jared. I can't say whether this was what Jensen and CM had originally planned or whether it became necessary to salvage the lackluster storyline, but it turned out to be an empty exercise of hubris and ego.

And I'm sorry, but trying to excuse Sam's erasure by having Dean claim that he was doing this because he had "family" in his own verse (who he couldn't even bring himself to call by name) was a cheap cop out. It doesn't make up for how Jensen and Dannell acted when putting this mess together and how he treated Jared. It was a slap in the face to the majority of the SPN audience, who watched because we loved both the brothers.

If there is any justice in the universe, the network will see this as the failure that it was and that the SPN legacy should never have been put in the hands of an inexperienced production company or when one of the leads is deliberately excluded. TW does not in any way warrant or need a second season and this should been tossed away a the failed experiment that it was.

Sorry Jensen, but you shat the bed. This dumpster fire is all on you.

Why put on such a show (referring to JA)? Him and Elta were seen at a restaurant in Dallas the other day and they keep showing up like this “happy couple”. Do you think they do it like Misha did with his divorce? I don’t know, they seem like they are truly going out of their way if they are so unhappy.

As I've said countless times before, the biggest mistake you could make with z list celebrities is view and analyze them as a regular couple. Jensen is a public figure. Anything and I do mean ANyTHING he puts out there is to uphold a certain image and position himself according to his career goals. I know it's a harsh truth but Jensen is part of an industry where his profile is everything.

I didn't see happy at all, what I did see is a "wife" that yet again got awful work done to her face and a "husband" who looked just as drunk as she was. Danneel has such tension in her face that her smile is clearly fake.

I find it very sad that Jensen can't seem to stay sober around his wife and that his claim to fame lately is taking pictures in restaurants just to dispel rumors. I also find it extremely sad that Danneel never seems to be enough as she keeps getting work done. Sorry, anon, but what I see is two toxic people clinging to each other in lieu of getting attention.
