OK, I'ma say it.
I am kind of sick of how the fandom and even the show recast Boscha as the main mastermind behind Willow being bullied and even has seemingly had this extended to Boscha being the one running the mean girls gang. With fandom going even further with her friends needing to avoid her.
Hear me out.
Willow's bully in season 1 is Amity, its Amity who seeks her out before school to make her miserable, its Amity who tries to undermine her success, its Amity who ends up in a rivalry with Luz because of the Willow situation. Boscha was mostly just there and kind of a dick to Willow and others by proximity, she had no particular focus on her however.
Adding to that, Amity was clearly the queen bee in these scenarios, others didn't tell her what to do she told them and they listened. So much so that even when she turned on them they didn't try to get back at her but went against Luz instead.
I would also add, when Boscha did show an interest in targeting Willow it was specifically because she considered her a threat to her own position in the social hierarchy. It was not part of some longstanding thing.
Similarly, Boscha's own position in that regard is extremely lose given Amity is clearly the power player, but also cos Boscha could get ousted by King of all beings and need to do something wildly dangerous to regain her position.
But it seems like the longer the show went on, the more the bully gang was framed as her creation, under her control and that Willow's suffering was by her design more than anyone else's.
& the fandom seems to have taken that and made it so she's even an antagonist to her fellow bullies to the point where they want to escape her influence. Essentially woobifying them in favor of demonizing Boscha
Don't get me wrong, Boscha is a gigantic asshole and a bully.
She's just one of several however, rather than the only one at the school making everyone else bow down. She was Amity's second & her own position of nominal leadership was anything but stable, & Willow was not her target.
Also, I am aware that their planned seasons getting cut short may have led to this. IE, streamlining and simplifying Willow & Amity's issues and history to resolve it more easily but still, nettled.

FTF is so fucking mindboggling to me because who thought it was a good idea to have Willow, Amity, Boscha and Kikimora eat up Luz's screentime? Especially Kikimora because why would you bring in another antagonist when you already have two of them [Philip and The Collector] running around?
If we operate under the assumption no one up top was responsible for some of these awful writing decisions... there was not a single person in that writing room who had enough common sense to say:
"Yeah look, I know it sucks Willow and Amity can't get any development before the show ends. And I know we have fans who want to see the side characters one last time. But we literally dont have the time to do it. We cant take time away from Luz's character arc. We still need to show Caleb and Evelyn so the parallels between them and Luz/Hunter make sense. We also need to show Caleb and Evelyn to contextualize Philip's actions. Luz, Hunter and Philip take top priority in this season because we dont have the time for anyone else. It's awful, but that's just the way it is. It's not a big deal anyway because we can include these minor characters in the timeskip at the end."
And why is Willow having this development with Hunter and not Amity? Dont get me wrong, giving Amity and Willow alot of screentime is still bad because they shouldn't take time away from Luz. But having this development with Amity is more logical than having it with Hunter because Amity was one of Willows bullies. She contributed to Willow's insecurities of being "half a witch". AND THEN instead of it being focused on Willows insecurities its also about HUNTER and how he couldn't tell Willow and Gus they were important to him? WHAT.
Hunter did not need to have this kind of development either by the way. Like the kid died and came back to life AND lost his companion in the previous episode... but of course he doesn't feel a certain type of way about what happened in TTT - his REAL issue is that he couldn't tell Gus and Willow they were important to him... WHAT. Also, you honestly expect me to believe Luz wouldn't try talking to Hunter after she literally saw him die and come back to life before her eyes? Or that Hunter wouldnt be concerned about Luz not coming out of the portal even though TTT established a deep bond between Luz and Hunter?
What was the purpose of going to The Owl House if nothing of value was there? Going to TOH would make sense if the memory tweezers were hidden away somewhere in the house, but theyre not. Everyone is just fucking around in the house and wasting time for no reason. You could have just had the tweezers be at the house and everyone have their important talks before they teleport inside the skull. All that school meandering bullshit could have been completely cut.
Speaking of cutting out stuff why wasn't Odalia cut from this episode? She does nothing and serves no purpose to the story. They make you think she might do something conniving in WAD but she actually does nothing. Just cut her completely. This episode is full of characters who's only purpose is to leech from Luz's LIMITED screentime.
Seriously FTF and WAD read like bad fix-it fanfics. Like someone read some garbage takes from twitter and tumblr and decided to "fix" TOH with the last two episodes.

Spork I am begging on my hands and knees I know your the Hunter content blog but you also make the best Vee content I need my crops watered please
Because you asked nicely :)
Five bounced on the balls of her feet, watching all of the other campers stream onto the bus. She glanced back at her cabin, marked VII.
I should go.
I should run.
Camp had taught her enough about passing as a regular human that she could probably change her form to a more adult appearing one and get a job. Or she could just live on her own in the wilderness, they’d gone through a few survival skills, too.
But there had been nothing in any of the lessons about how to be Luz Noceda. And Luz Noceda was the girl expected back home. Besides, there was a portal. Luz could come back any time, would come back any time. She could already be back already, and Five didn’t have a way to tell.
A gentle hand touched her shoulder. Claire, the cooking class teacher. “Luz? Sweetheart, you’re the only one left, everyone’s ready to go.”
Too late.
“Can I stay here?” Five blurted, “Could I just stay and not go back home?”
Claire heaved a sigh. “Afraid not, snapdragon.”
“I could help with maintenance!”
Claire turned Five to face her. “I know it’s going to be hard to go back, Luz. Bullies are always going to find something to make fun of, and teachers sometimes won’t let go of the past. But do you remember what we talked about?”
“Don’t use explosives in your book report, ‘cuz that’ll get you expelled?”
“And someone could get hurt. But no, the other thing.”
“Don’t take live snakes to school, because it’s not fair to the snakes to get suddenly put in a new, scary place?”
Claire laughed. “Not that one either. About the bullies.”
Five sighed. “Find my safe people.”
“That’s right. The people who care about you matter much more than the people who want to hurt you, and they will always stand by you. And what was the other thing?”
“Pop them in the nose if they try to physically hurt me?”
“Technically, you didn’t hear that from me. For legal reasons. Bullies are just small people trying to look big, and in the end, they don’t get to say who you will be. Only you get to say that.” Claire turned Five towards the bus. “Your creativity is your strongest asset, but no one will see it if you stay here forever. Don’t get too carried away, but go out there and show them what you’re really made of.”
If Luz has come back, I could always just run then. Doesn’t look like I can get away now anyway.
Five took a deep breath. “Okay. Alright.”
“Atta girl. I’m rooting for you, Luz.”
Five climbed the steps to the bus, and the door hissed shut behind her, sealing her in. Masha gave her a short wave from their seat, patting the window seat next to them. “I gotcha, Luz!”
Find my safe people.
Five sat down next to Masha, watching out the window. Claire waved, getting smaller and smaller as the bus rolled out, leaving the camp behind.
“Finally, out of prison for good behavior,” Masha joked, “Man, I can’t wait to get back to my room. And the internet. I’ve missed the internet.”
Five leaned against the window. “Do you think things will be different? Back in Gravesfield?”
Masha snorted. “No way, they didn’t brainwash me at that camp.”
Five nudged them. “I know you had fun at that local history class.”
“Yeah, because there’s a lot of it in Old Gravesfield. I still can’t believe you’ve never been in the museum, or done rubbings in the graveyard. That was like, the only good part of school.”
“Wasn’t one of those trips the reason you got sent here?”
“You hide in and pop out of one excavated grave to scare your partner…”
The bus rolled from country to suburban, all the way to the center of Gravesfield. Masha stood up. “I see my dad. Are you getting off?”
Five pushed her hands into her hoodie pocket. “One more stop,” she whispered.
“Hey.” Masha grinned. “Not too late to run away.”
Even though they were joking (probably), Five’s stomach clenched.
I could get off and run. Get far, far away, start over.
“No, I’m staying. See you, Masha.”
“Cabin Seven forever. Don’t be a stranger, drop by sometime.”
Masha waved and headed down the steps. There were only a few kids left on the bus, and everyone sat alone. The bus rumbled down the road, finally, finally stopping near Luz’s house.
Full circle, Five.
She got out, grabbing her bag from under the bus.
“Luz!” Camila waved at her from the curb, then swept her up in a hug. “Hey, mija! I’ve missed you so much!”
Luz isn’t back.
For a moment, a worm of worry wiggled through her mind. Was the human okay? Was she stuck in the demon realm?
But then Camila squeezed her even tighter, and Five didn’t care anymore.
“Hi.” Five leaned into Camila, warmth spreading through her chest.
Found my safe people.
Maybe she didn’t know Camila that well—she’d only had the car ride to camp to get to know her. But here, wrapped up in her arms, Five almost felt like nothing could hurt her again. There weren’t any portals, any jailers, any chains. Just she and Camila and the warm sun on her face.
Camila let go. “Ooooo, I’m so glad you’re home, it’s been so quiet.” She picked up the bag, slinging it over her shoulder. “Did you make some new friends? Learn anything new? I want to hear all about camp. I mean, I’ve had your letters and your texts, of course, but I want to hear it from you.”
What if Luz never came back? She’d seemed happy enough in the demon realm, and from what Five had gathered over the last few months, she hadn’t exactly fit in here. Maybe she didn’t want to come back. Although how anyone could just ditch Camila was beyond her.
Maybe Five could just stay like this. Could stay Luz. No one had to know. And she could stay in warm hugs, in sunlight, in freedom.
“Luz?” Camila called from ahead of her, “Are you coming, mija?”
Five smiled, chasing after her. “Yeah. I’m coming.” She slipped her free hand into Camila’s. “Let’s go home.”

Have you ever felt like the fandom makes Luz steal Amity's roles/positions?
I saw many headcanons with Luz being some expert cap in grudgby or other sports (proly because of the jacket she wears all the time) or be top in classes for her wider acknowledge of magic than mere witches... which I still consider it stupid both canon and fanon. Or treating this whole "depression" (rather the reason for it) as something to make her a tragic character too because she had no reason to be one before, all those "edgy" fanarts including beta are just so cringe I can't take them serious, it's pathetic and Amity is rather just there used as a tool to emphasize this bullshit, how "cool" Luz is 🙄.
So I don't think this is a fandom problem as much as it is the fandom wanting to tell stories without the show providing the personalities to enable it. Because... TOH just doesn't have many character types, let alone the sort that are at least easy to write stories about. In S1, so the good part of the show that wasn't affected by the shortening, here is your list of personalities. Eda: Lazy thief and criminal who would rather stay in bed than actually do anything. Learns to be a little nicer. King: Has one joke about wanting to be a ruler, people respond with one joke about him being small, and he's a lazy fuck as well. Feels out of character during his two episodes because they try to have him be a real character but poorly. Willow: Has no personal motivations of her own, her issues are resolved immediately, appears to be shy but more so is just a plot device who's willingness to stand up or stand changes depending on if the episode needs to wrap up now.
Gus: Is comic relief and constantly shit on for being weaker or for doing dumb shit despite supposedly being smart enough to jump up two grades and has an interest in human stuff that is just kind of awkward to include when Luz is RIGHT THERE.
Amity: Smart, overly driven girl who puts way too much pressure on herself and has a crush on Luz. Also has a good heart that even by the end of S1 has easily surpassed her goal oriented thinking for the most part and the show itself never does anything with her smarts but she IS claimed to be smart.
Luz: Happy ball of energy who used to be bullied back home but has a good heart with her head in the clouds. Wants to be a witch. Of those SIX main characters, you have TWO real personalities that are of any use from a storytelling perspective and only one that is more compelling from an angst perspective because Luz being in the Isles effectively resolves her bullying. It's part of why between S1 and 2, there were people outside the fandom who thought AMITY was the main character because of her design and how much everyone did with her. Other than that, most of these characters would live REALLY boring lives if left to their own devices. Which... S2 doesn't fix. In fact, it gets worse. Even by the end of S2A, it has been established that Amity no longer cares about her studies and her actions aren't of a smart person anymore. They are that of, like 90% of the cast, just a generically good person. Maybe a quirk here or there but also interchangeable versus anyone else in the cast because there's so little dividing them except for what moveset they have. By S2B, the Amity replacement of Hunter, who had less personality than Amity to begin with, will also just be a generically good person with an angsty backstory but at least that backstory is still WAY more than any other supporting character. So... What the fuck is a fandom supposed to do? They make shit up effectively. Luz is shown as physically strong far more than she's claimed 'weak nerd arms', the show broke its own magic in ways that are INFURIATING so as to let her have a smart win against Belos even though she doesn't show particularly high intelligence normally, etc. like that but it is enough for the fandom to take it and run with it, especially while the angst arc and the human realm allowed angsty Luz and most fandoms run a quarter on angst, a quarter on fluff and half on shipping.
It makes the fact that Lumity stuff got so boring post S2 not surprising. It makes the fact that a lot of people were leaving the fandom during S3 not surprising. These just aren't engaging characters and you no longer have a storytelling powerhouse out of Amity because they've slaughtered most of her potential even by the end of S2A.
It frankly is almost embarrassing that for how many trios are in this story, they never manage ONCE to even have the smart guy, strong guy, and the heart. The absolute most basic trio and the closest they ever come is in S3 with Gus, Hunter and Willow because Hunter is a sad boy dating Willow so I guess the heart, Gus is FINALLY allowed to be considered at least actually smart and impressive in that way, and strength has defined Willow's character for most of the series. Other than that, the show so quickly makes characters plot devices rather than characters that none of them can be engines of storytelling. You can't really come up with something interesting for a lot of these characters to do on a normal day without outside intervention because at least half of them would do literally nothing.
I mean... Even when I was most invested, between S1 and 2, I had to bring in BOSCHA in order to make a proper trio out of Luz, Amity and Boscha who could all feed into each with stories. That's why Willow, Gus, Eda and King just aren't really a part of The Power of Love because... What the fuck were you supposed to do with them? As characters, they're likable, they have some good jokes, but they're just lacking an interesting personality that makes for a good story.
And even the show admits to that with how much all four of those characters faded away the longer the story goes on. At least with major retcons to their characters. It's kind of why I assume a longer Owl House would not have been a good thing because they were grasping for straws for at least one season. Why should I think that a full S3 wouldn't have struggled to fill the time? Let alone the extra seasons that would be required for a full S3 to not have had an almost identical S2 to what we got?

TOH AU!!
Quints a human who magically ends up in the Boiling Isles (to be determined exactly how he gets there) and wants to learn magic because. of course he does. He's overall fascinated by the coven system but also just how magic in general works. He falls into the care of (you'll never believe it) Yursl!! I don't know if she'd be something different than the owl lady, but the owl lady would be cool because imagine Johnny Steve as Hooty or something 😭
I don't know if there'd be a "King" in this au since it's technically just if the tlkoe kids were inside the TOH universe, and it's not necessarily a "Quint is Luz" or "___ is King" AU. Quint IS kind of like Luz but their motives for learning magic are slightly different, and besides Yursl being a bit of an insert of Eda, that's kinda where it ends. (watch me contradict this in like two seconds) Mainly what I'm trying to say is that this storyline doesn't follow either the toh or tlkoe cannon ones to a tee, but still has elements of both
Jack is in the Illusion Track, but I feel like later on he would start to dabble in Abomination (since it's the closest thing to his zombie powers). He's still an orphan lmao, and lives at the Boiling Isles Orphanage. He transfers to Hexide from another school about a year previous to Quint's arrival. He comes across a poorly disguised Quint who was on a supply run for Yursl, and is absolutely AMAZED by him. The boys get along immediately and begin to hang out. Jack then tries to convince Quint to enroll in Hexide, which Quint finally does later in the future. Jacks Palisman would def be Rover, who, when not in palisman form, can (maybe, idk) switch between the normal palisman size and normal Rover Size.
For June, I'd say she'd be In Abomination or Beast Keeping. I say Abomination because 1: it's cool, and 2: Blasty could be like the spiky abomination glove Amity does in Eclipse Lake when fighting against Hunter. June wouldn't keep it on as near often as she does with Blasty in the books, but she would bring it out for fights. And if she WAS in Abomination, she'd be able to help out Jack when he starts to get into it (again, doesn't follow the tlkoe canon). She's still head of the Newspaper Club, and her Palisman would be Neon
Dirk is easily the Plant Track. He COULD be Construction, but idk I just see Plant more. Imagine him doing the Plant/Whip thing Willow does in the beginning of "Any Sport in a Storm." Almost like how he was into lassoing and cowboy stuff in Book Three (I wanna say three) His palisman is Drooler!!
So basically, how everyone would meet:
Quint arrives at Hexide under the disguise of a regular witch with Jack's help. (Quint pretends to be a witch during the entrance exam, in which he barely scrapes by. Obviously this only makes him more determined) Jack brings Quint to the newspaper room (since jack is still in the newspaper) and introduces him to the club. Quint catches Junes attention cause Quint sucks at lying and she can tell somethings up. She doesn't pry into it then and there, but still keeps it in her mind. At Lunch, June talks to Dirk. Dirk and June are friends; they have sort of a sibling dynamic and confine in each other. Dirks not really a bully per say, but he still gets into trouble and June's always there to get him out of it. (As she'll do with the rest of the group, until later when she unmasks a bit and gets a lil silly too) June proposes her theory to Dirk, and of course, she's right. At first, Dirk's like "You're ridiculous", but then he REALLY starts to look at Quint and thinks it may be possible. They both decide to look into it and go full sleuth mode- or rather June does and Dirk enables it- and find out that Quint is, in fact, a human. Chaos ensues.
"You're HUMAN??"
"Uh- yes."
"I knew it!! Dirk, see, I told you-"
"June. Not the time. "
"Right, sorry."
More Chaos- June and Dirk both swear not to tattle, but uh oh! Someone else overhears the conversation and gives the principle (tbd) the headsup. All four of them are called to the office and interrogated, before Quint's disguise falls apart and they make a run for it. Like in "I was a teenage abomination", the school goes on lock down and the gang has to use their magic to get them through the school and out the exit. After all is said and done, they don't really go like "we should be friends!" but rather they start hanging out with one another more, and soon they're thick as thieves and getting themselves into all sorts of shenanigans.
(Quint is still allowed to stay at Hexide, but he tries to stall getting assigned into a coven for as long as he can. This half-works because since there's no inspector like there was in "The First Day", there's not really a need for him to pick a track immediately.)

Who is likely to take Hunter in + How is drives the story:
Chances are I’m going to edit this post along the way but these are my thought so far just after 2x17 events.
Starting with The Owl House:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Considering we already have 2x17, they seem less likely as of now. I would’ve assumed they chased Hunter down but with all of them wanted and so close to being arrested, it’s probably not the safest for Hunter to be there. But what about after the events of the story?
After, it definitely seems possible. They’re clearly making a sibling dynamic between Luz and Hunter (as if they don’t have that already). And it would be good for him to branch out and learn the ways of wild magic, especially away from Belos. This family, especially Luz, are so good at making others see another point of view and keeping an open mind. It would be nice to see them try to help Hunter and make him feel comfortable. Showing that just because he wasn’t born like other witches or even humans, he still gets to be his own person. And we all know Eda loves adding more people to the family. But at the same time, Hunter and Eda need time to build a connection. At the moment, it seems more like a “I’ll take him on weekends and holidays” kind of deal rather than a permanent situation but I definitely see them becoming family whether they live together or not.
In terms of where we are this the story right now, it would be a lot to focus on. With Luz going back home, King’s new identity, and everyone clearly keeping it hidden that they’re upset Luz will head home soon, the story would be pretty thick if Hunter were added on though I wouldn’t mind much. That being said, I’m sure they’ll meet again either planning a rebellion or somewhere within the rebellion.
Willow:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chances are Hunter is in a group chat with the Emerald Entrails after the events of 2x13 ASIAS. Out of everyone on the team, Hunter would most likely ask for Willow’s help as he clearly respects her as captain. It would be a nice place for him to stay away from Castle grounds and have somewhere cozy. Plus Willow seems to have no ill will towards Hunter as she’s awaiting “Caleb’s next day off.”
These two are clearly made to be parallels of each other via being “half witches.” I’d even make the argument that they’re foils of one another.
When we first meet Willow in S1, she’s bullied, has one friend, and is lacking self-confidence. It isn’t until she’s thrown into the plant track where we see her blossoming (hehe). With Hunter, we saw him at the top of his game as the Golden Guard and Emperor’s right hand man. Now he’s lost all of that and is disgusted at the thought of being the G.G successor. If Hunter is with Willow, we would get more Willow and Gus (I’m assuming) content. Willow would help Hunter the same way Luz and Gus helped her. She would help him find his confidence and sense of meaning in this world.
Now the problems: 1. Did Hunter have his scroll with him when he chased down Team RED (Raine, Eber, Darius) into the Night Market or did he leave it at the castle? I guess Flapjack (DAMN YOU PANCAKES) would be able to get it by flying up to his window but something tells me he wouldn’t leave Hunter alone like that even for a couple minutes in case something happens.
2. How would Willow’s dads react to having a 16 year old boy who’s literally the G.G and on the run in their house? But that could be easily fixed by having them be chill with it or making up a cover story and lying to them. Which would lead to conflict later but oh well chaotic route for the win.
Even if Hunter isn’t with Willow, I definitely think they’ll have room to grow together in the future and I’m excited to see how that happens.
Darius (Raine and Eber?):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I shall admit my bias here. I want Darius to take Hunter in. But I also think that’s the route we’re heading towards and he’s the most plausible guardian for Hunter.
Let’s start by saying Darius isn’t the kindest. He’s definitely not perfect taking into consideration “you don’t deserve to wear that patch,” and “Darius ignored me as per usual” in Hunter’s palisman observations (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s on YouTube. Dana did a stream).
That being said, it’s clearly depicted that Darius is not what he seems. He’s actively rebelling against Belos and was kind enough to give Hunter a scroll to contact his friends outside of the castle and pat him on the head. Bare minimum, I know, but that kindness has been foreign to Hunter for the past 16 years. Not only that but he shows genuine concern and panic over Hunter being trapped in Belos’ mind. I like the idea that they can make and grow their own family together. It would be nice to see them mourn and heal together.
It seems set up perfectly anyways. The fact that Hunter starts acting on his own accord the same time we find out that Darius was the previous G.G’s protege? Darius didn’t like that Hunter was Belos’ little lap dog. And that we know all of the previous G.G’s rebelled against Belos at some point and now Darius is as well and Hunter is on his way to doing so? He could help Hunter stand his ground. They could learn about Grimwalkers together as Darius knows Hunter’s predecessor, he knows the most about the previous G.G and he definitely knows something isn’t right over the fact that his mentor disappeared and this kid looks so similar. Darius has something to fight for with his connection to the G.G but now it has purpose and meaning cause he’s looking after Hunter.
Their stories align so perfectly.
Not only would we be able to focus on Hunter’s story cleanly about finding his own sense of dignity and self-worth, we get to see Darius humbled and step up, ready to fill in the role of a mentor and even a positive father figure in Hunter’s life. He gets to give back to his mentor by taking care of Hunter. It’s also worth noting, it would push Team RED’s objective and tie it to the main plot too. We’d get to see more of their story and how they started working together after Eda’s Requiem. It would be the smartest writing move with what we have so far.
Not to mention, chances are they found him already. You can’t tell me after such a strong reaction from Darius, plus Raine clearly wanting to help Eda get her kid (and their future stepdaughter) back, they just gave Eda the teleportation potion and dipped. I figured they would’ve stayed hidden to ensure Luz and Hunter made it out safely which means they could’ve seen the direction Hunter ran and followed him.
Only problem is: Would Hunter trust the three coven heads? After everything he went through, it would most likely take him a while to trust an adult in power, especially ones so close to Belos. And I feel like the only safe place they would hide him in where he can have access to basic needs are either if they have their own individual homes away from the castle, or maybe the BATS hideout that we saw in Eda’s Requiem.
Honestly, knowing this show and it’s creator, I wouldn’t be surprised if they went with none of those and surprise us somehow.
Regardless, I feel like all three of these are good choices and it’s nice to realize how many people care for Hunter and at the end of this hopefully he’ll have the biggest found family that ever found familied. Fingers crossed he isn’t just camping in the woods alone and cold.

oh!! before i go lemme tell you about the DR i'm headed to:
it's a crossover between toh x tmi x pjo x hp, and i'm still valentine morgenstern's biological kid. my bio mother is dead (murdered by valentine) and she was a boiling isles witch and best friends with darius. valentine raised me until i was fourteen, at which point i ran away and darius stumbled across me (haven't decided the exact details but eh). he takes me in and i'm his only child :) (for now...)
my main friend group is boscha, amelia, skara, cat, and amity. boscha is my best friend, and she's a lot nice than she was in the show. she and willow aren't specifically at odds, boscha is just kind of Like That and people tend to peg her as a bully, which i guess isn't entirely incorrect. she's less overtly mean and tends to be a little more fake nice, and she loves to gossip with me. once you get to know her she's actually pretty cool, and our friend group sees that, which is why we choose to hang out with her.
in my DR, despite cutting her off, amity does still do her best to socially protect willow from afar. won't let anyone talk shit about her and still thinks about her quite frequently. thinking about willow and missing willow probably consume most of her waking hours. talks to me about willow (not the rest of the group) because i can keep a secret, and i won't try to mess around. boscha -despite not really liking willow- would absolutely intervene to try and make amity happier (amity is very clearly not happy with her life most of the time, and despite being kind of prickly, boscha really does love us and want us all to be happy).
boscha also does have a specific reason for not liking luz, willow, and augustus though- they're my friends, and one, she's a little jealous, and two, she absolutely does not trust them to look after me like she does. she thinks they're flippant and careless, and they think she's cold and uncaring. both parties are wrong, and i know that, and you know that, but at this point idk what i'm supposed to do. it's not like boscha is much of a listener.
amelia is the other girl in our friend group with green hair- her hair is naturally green! she's captain of the hexside quidditch team, and she loves sports in all capacities. she loves doing makeup but hates wearing it (she says it makes her break out and itches her face- i'm concerned she's just allergic to those specific products), and she's very loud and excitable. she's super friendly to everyone, and she's pretty competitive. sometimes we call her "amy" or "ames", but people who aren't in the immediate friend group still call her "amelia". on movie nights (saturdays) she brings homemade popcorn and it's the best food you've ever tasted. tastes like movie theatre popcorn but better. ames is in the plants track with willow. they're actually pretty good school friends, but they don't really hang out outside of class.
skara is student council president (i scripted one in lmao). amity is vice president and campaigns for skara. her parents want her to be president instead of skara but she just kind of gets annoyed with them and doesn't listen because "that would take time away from her school work". anyways, skara is also super friendly, loves people, makes time for everything, gets good grades, maintains a good relationship with her family and friends, and basically runs the school. she's good at everything, she's absolutely beautiful, and she's the popular kid you wish you could hate for being so perfect but you can't because she's too nice.
cat is like the polar opposite of amelia and boscha. she's super quiet, likes being on her own, and prefers calmer activities like painting or reading. she's the person i go to if i've had a bad day and i just want some peace and quiet time. we don't really talk -we don't really need to- we just sit and enjoy each other's company. she does have a more aggressive side when she plays grudgby though, and she's an absolute menace on the field. she loves going out for tea or coffee (she prefers coffee) and will always join me for brunch. she likes history and medicine classes, and she's in the healing track.
finally we have amity. ohboy this girl is *uptight*. i love her, but she's so stressed out. girl please take a breather. despite not being on the grudgby team anymore, she comes to all of our practices (morning and afternoon, girl is committed) to cheer us on. she's usually in the library either volunteering or doing homework. she rarely has time to hang out, but she'll make time for us by bringing her homework with us or forcibly making time by speedrunning it all in like an hour. she has an insane amount of drive and honestly she terrifies me. she can be a bit socially awkward sometimes, but overall she's pretty cool. she also really looks up to me, even though i'm only like, maybe a year and a half older. she should not look up to me lol.
anyways, i'm also friends with willow, luz, and augustus!! i originally wasn't looking to make more friends, but luz was really insistent and eventually i gave up. at first willow and augustus are kind of afraid of me because i'm like a "popular" kid or whatever, but pretty quickly they find out i'm just like. a person. they're all pretty cool, and they care a lot about each other. they all immediately stop getting bullied by our peers when i'm seen with them (people at hexside are all kinda either scared of me or in love with me lol).
i would keep going but i wanna shift and also this post is already too long okay byeeee ily happy shifting

Boscha character rewrite
Here is the reddit version of this https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOwlHouse/comments/wgcxpv/boscha_character_rewrite/  Here is an idea for a rewrite of Boscha's character based on their idea. Actually, it's more of an expansion of her character but still...
Anyways, it all starts with Wing it Like Witches. I'll starts around sometime after the grudgby match, not right after thought, maybe a little while, maybe a couple of weeks. At some point, Boscha's posse along with other people from school will eventually get fed up with Boscha's behavior and then dip on her. Boscha's posse will cut ties with her and have their own friend group together without Boscha. Maybe they could even on occasion hang with the Hexsquad. Boscha's gang aren't really bad people, just misguided who need positive influences.  While Willow's reputation populairty will skyrocket, Boscha's will absolutely collapse to rock bottom.  Boscha will have no friends, and lose every ounce of respect the students have for her. Boscha will get ostracized by everyone, getting a taste of karma by getting a dose of her own medicine. This will position Boscha at her lowest.
Boscha would likely eventually quit the grudgby team and if that bad, stops coming to school because of having to deal with the consequences of her actions and having to deal with the school hating her. She seems to weigh her self-worth based on her popularity and how many trophies she has. With nobody, she feels like nobody.
Okay, this is when I eventually do some substitutions of the Golden Guard stuff. This takes around the end of the season 1 finale after Lilith fell from grace in the Emperors coven and she and Amity lost their respect for Belos and is now against him. Eventually, Boscha gets an invite to an apprenticeship at the Emperors Coven to eventually become a covenhead for the coven. Boscha decided to take that opportunity without question. After all, its a big honor to be selected to get in the Emperors Coven, or even get an apprenticeship there. She had nothing to lose after all the damage she dealt at Hexside and all the friends and respect from others she lost. This can give Boscha a chance to climb up the ranks and eventually gain some sort of superiority over others on a larger scale.
This can be able to show the viewers some "What if" scenarios. It would be able to make a good story parallels between Boscha and Amity, two sides of the same coin. They were first introduced as two mean girls who are popular and bullied the weak but eventually after late season 1 chose different paths showing what would happen if choosing either one of those paths. Boscha can act as an example of what Amity would of become if not changed her ways and try and make up for those misdeeds. Boscha would have been the final product if Amity hasn't met Luz.
Anyways back to the rewrite. Boscha would be doing her apprenticeship at the EC.  She doesn't enjoy what she does but she does like the praise she receives if she pleases the EC with her work. This will once again show how her self-esteem runs on praise and compliments. This can lead to the Hexsquad now having complex feelings about the whole matter. They would have several interactions with her as maybe some sort of threat or something but also see that even though she likes the showering of compliments she gets when doing something right, she doesn't enjoy what she does in EC under the apprenticeship. This can also give us the viewers too have very mixed and complex feelings about Boscha. Eventually Boscha over time pieces together the true intensions of the EC's motives and the Day of Unity, this can make her never see the EC the same again, and then eventually escapes but doesn't really have anywhere to go except home. Though she worries about having to face having to bump into former classmates that she had hurt so technically she has nowhere to go. This could have the potential to make a very interesting redemption arc and it wouldn't feel like its copying Amity, and instead have a more original sort of take on a redemption arc
Her redemption could end in a couple ways. She either joins the Hexsquad, or she could just be independent doing her own thing not siding with Luz or Belos.
Anyways, what do you think of Boscha's rewrite/expansion? Do you agree with these ideas? Do you have your ideas of your own take on it? I'm still trying to figure out a backstory for Boscha with why she weighs how much she is worth based on popularity, trophies, etc so do you guys have any ideas for that? Also, I still need an idea of how she gets her crab palisman, Maya, any ideas for that? Lemme know your thoughts in the comment section below.

I write about a character per day
Day 17: Amity Blight
Confession time:
I know about Lumity before The Owl House.
That's how popular Lumity is/was, and I think there's a good reason for that. After Rupphire and Bubbline revolutionized the cartoon industry, Lumity is the best successor I have found (Though nothing will ever beat Rupphire for me, they're absolutely beautiful. They had a special place in my heart). So let's talk about the half that changed so drastically from the beginning, Amity Blight.
I don't know whether because of my experience with Peridot in the past, or because I know about Lumity first, or Titan forbid both, but the vibes of "she's not actually a threat and gonna have an epic redemption arc" appeared to me from the beginning. And it did. Almost exactly the same as Peridot even, as she also yelled at someone who she thought she won't be able to. Seriously, Amity had changed so much since the first impression of sassy student who bullied her classmate.
Have I ever told how much Luz changed everyone in the Boiling Isles? Luz changed people around her so much, recruiting allies, making her former allies more confidence and strong, even going on a date with a new ally. That new ally is Amity.
Amity from seeing her as an annoyance, getting her into trouble, to slowly understanding her and finally giving her human a kiss. Amity admitted to Luz that things changed so much for her she did things she never thought she would. Interestingly enough, back in Season 1 when things went south for her she blamed it on Luz, but in Season 2 she found herself doing that for Luz. Almost the same sentence, yet the tones changed a lot. Amity studied less, yet feel so much happier, she reconciled with her childhood friend, went against her parents, and even went rebel with the pink hair. 15 years in her life, and things changed a lot in just a few months of a human being here. It's not just Luz being a really good communicator and peacemaker, but it also came from Amity's will to change. This is important. I really can't emphasize this enough, but changes must come from both side. No amount of convincing or talking will work if the other side doesn't want to change. Luz wouldn't be able to change Amity if she herself doesn't want to. Having said that, it doesn't mean things just all go well for them. There're still disagreements, hiding, misunderstanding, but them being able to opening up to each other is really precious. And of course the unlimited amount of tomato Amity jokes. And the kisses. I literally can write about Lumity all day but I'll left that half for when I write about Luz.
The will to change in Amity had always been there, but she had to oppressed it, because of so much social pressure. And yes, once again, gotta yell at Odalia. Her and Alador (yes Alador is not completely innocent, he only sorta kinda "redeemed" himself by turning against his wife) chose her friends for her, used her like a labour, and forced her into cramming when she was "distracted". It's really strange and messed up that Odalia literally have a necklace to control her daughter, that she probably had done that to Ed and Em, and she's so willingly run the family like a business (kinda similar to a certain president I know). The liberation from Odalia happened one step at a time for Amity, and even when she decided to rebel, she still had a long way to come. It only ended at the finale, when we finally see Mittens happy around her dad, with Odalia in the background, completely cutting her mom off her life.
The one who witnessed all of those changes from Amity is Willow. Willow witnessed so much, the dagger in her back, when Amity pulled off the dagger and started healing, she saw it all, held it all up and not complained one bit. But it hurt Amity as well. Their break-up was completely arranged, she was peer-pressured into bullying her old friend, it got so bad she almost wiped out her memory. She wanted things to go along well, but don't know where to start. And Willow saw it all. She knew what happened, she saw Amity's desire to change, and she acknowledged and accepted the late apology. Once again, changes must come from both side, and they changed so much they became partners in crime again, a classic duo that so strong they defended the entire Hexside.
Amity had all the joy of being the younger sibling of the twins. And something that I'll forever appreciate, is that no matter how annoying and unbearable the twins are, in dire situations we understand why they're siblings. Amity almost broke in tears when she saw her twins in such a long while. Amity will forever be their "baby sis" no matter what happened.
One last character I want to talk about, though I also don't want to, Boscha. Up until today we still don't have all the informations about their relationship. Amity had to endure her quite a lot during her childhood, then embraced her to bully Willow, but got Luz and started hanging around with Luz's group a lot more, accidentally put Boscha into irrelevancy. They made peace at the end, but that interaction with Boscha in the detention pit is definitely really awkward for Amity.
Amity Blight is so cool. Awesome Girlfriend. Lesbian. Rebel. You name it. She's everything.

Is it weird to think that the Collector might end up getting a redemption at the end? Because….what I’m getting at is that he really doesn’t seem purely evil….Just a chaotic child with so much chaotic energy who thinks that the whole world is one big game and just wants everyone to play with him? Maybe because he’s super lonely?? He just doesn’t know when and where to stop and eventually messes everything up which lead to King’s dad trapping him in the shadows in the first place… On top of that, if someone double crosses him (i.e Belos) he “overreacts” by harming and even murdering others. Who knows? Maybeeeeee King might eventually talk some sense into the child…idk…..

Also anyone notice how Amity went from refusing Alador’s hug and instead opted for a handshake in Reaching Out to LITERALLY not flinching when he kissed her forehead before separating in King’s Tide?? Now THIS goes to really show how much Alador has sincerely grown and changed between then for the better and the fact that Amity even sees this. Their relationship is really beginning to go in a more healthy and positive direction. In fact I wouldn’t even be shocked if Amity runs and hugs him the next time she sees him if they ever reunite again (That’s he ofc if she wants to or feels comfortable first and foremost)!

Idk if anyone brought this up but Gus taking a page out of Luz’s book and using glyph magic!👏🏽 This was so precious!!! 😭❤️❤️
Edited: I know I mistakenly said Hunter lol! Though he did previously use it in Hollow Mind! I also remember Amity taking a glyph from Luz’s pocket too! All that remains if for Willow to use it too!

Just an idea that’s been in my head for a few days now, contains some spoilers for Edge of the World but anyway-
Imagining the rebellion manages to build a door with Hunter and Luz’s help (as the only two there who have built/rebuilt a door) and the leftover Titan blood in the syringe Hooty has stashed away, and all the kids present (Luz, Amity, Willow, Gus, Viney, Skara, Boscha, Mattholomule, Edric, Emira, Hunter, even King himself) get evacuated to Earth (some willingly, some not so willingly) because “war is no place for children.”
And now you just have this large group of kids camping out at the Nocedas, a somber air hanging over them, some complaining about Earth and some worrying about their parents/friends left behind in the Boiling Isles, and you just have Hunter who has been told all these amazing things about Earth by Belos, who has always wanted to come to Earth and experience new things and meet people who are just like him, having no magic... but he’s not happy. He wants to go home, just like everyone else.
And then Luz, dear Luz, tries to distract them by showing them around the human world (hiding their ears and Boscha’s third eye, ofc, and disguising King as a dog) and taking them to all sorts of different places and running into bullies that end up getting even Boscha on Luz’s side. But overall successfully forgetting for a little while that they might never get to go home.
All that to say;
These kids at the arcade.
At a rock climbing wall.
In a trampoline park.
On obstacle/parkour courses.
At a theme park.
At a memorial for the Gravesfield witch hunts I mean
Of course, ultimately they’d decide they have to go back and help fight- they’re needed, after all, almost all the adult witches have coven marks and if Belos manages to activate them then... yeah. And they find a way to get back (good thing they have a Titan with them! lmao) and help save their home.
And then everything ends with the two worlds permanently connected and Luz is able to live with her Mama and still attend Hexside and go on dates with her girlfriend and hang out with all her friends and it’d all be great, also therapy arc for the kids pls and thank u

This is something made from a chat between me and @ordinaryschmuck.
Just imagine Vee attending Luz's human school and on her first day, she notices how everyone either avoids her on sight or mocks her. Whenever she tries to talk to people they scoff just call her a freak. Then she runs into one of Luz's old bullied who makes fun of her and even tries to take the hexes-hold um cards she had on hand. Vee is so scared and panicked that she punches the bully hard, but she's the one who gets in trouble because the teachers don't believe her due to Luz's bad reputation and the bully pretending to be innocent
Bully: Come on Noceda, We've been doing this since 4th grade. You should know how this works by now.
Of course, unlike Luz, Vee tells Camila and when she hears about all of this, she knows she has to have a talk with Luz.
Assume that this take place in an AU where Luz is domehow able to contact the Human World using titans blood and a pair of mirrors)
So, the next time Luz contacts home, her friends standing off to the side as she speaks with her mom Camila reveals what Vee had told her about what the kids at school did.
Luz has no choice but to admit that those kids had indeed been bullying her for years and they even made sure that the other kids all ignored her or thought she was a weirdo by spreading terrible rumors about her.
And Camila ends up asking the obvious question: Why had Luz never told her about this?
Luz admits that she saw how long and hard Camila worked and didn't want to burden her with her problems after she already made her deal with so many issues due to her getting into trouble. She also, tearfully, admits there was another reason.
Luz: Whenever I tried to tell a teacher or someone else they....they never believed me. They always took the bullies side. I was just scared that... maybe you wouldn't believe me either. That you would take their side too.
Camila: Mija, I would always take your side
Luz: Then why did you send me to summer camp?
Camila falters.
Camila: Because...Because you kept doing such reckless things! The snakes, and, and the fireworks-!
Luz: I DID THOSE THINGS BECAUSE I WANTED SOMEONE TO NOTICE ME! I just..wanted one person to look at me and not just ignore me or call me a freak. 😪
Luz finally breaks down and admits she doesnt want to go back to Earth to have to face that.
Luz: "Here I have friends and an awesome girlfriend and...and people who care about me besides just you! Mom, I'm sorry. I love you, but I don't want to go back to being that weirdo freak who no one wants to be around! I...I can't go back to being alone."
Camila: But you're not alone. You have me!
Luz: And that's not always enough!
Camila looked at her in shock.
Luz: You're gone so much at work. And, even then, you're the only one who actually cares about me! If I vanished or something happened to me, no one else would care!
Luz begins crying heavily, her whole body shaking with her sobs.
Luz: I just wanted to be able to get someone else to care about me and, and LOVE me. Like you did. But...but I never could. And after a while I started thinking maybe...maybe I just wasn't someone other people could love.
A tear drops from Camila's eye. She wanted nothing more to hold her daughter and help her but she was stuck, both on the other side of the mirror and an entire world away. Hearing Luz say things like that-that no one else cared about her, that she might not be someone that could be loved- shattered her heart into pieces.
But then, Amity comes over and hugs Luz from behind.
Amity: I love you.
Then Willow comes over and hugs her.
Willow: I love you too.
Then Gus.
Gus: Me too.
Next Eda comes and holds her.
Eda: Don't even think for a second I don't too kid.
King hops onto Luz's head with tears in his eyes.
King: IVE NEVER LOVED ANYTHING LIKE IVE LOVED YOU!
And seeing Luz crying into her friends arms, as she was finally getting the love and appreciation she'd craved all these years, it finally hit Camilla. How her daughter had felt so alone and unlovable for so long. How she'd failed to notice how much Luz was hurting. How the bright light of her life who's smile always made her feel better was now so sad and crushed, and in pain and it was because she was so ignorant, Camila just...cracks. she falls to the ground and starts brokenly crying, beating herself up inside for not seeing this before it had become such a problem.
Vee put an arm around Camila to comfort her and once Luz sees her mother crying, she immediately feels guilty because she thinks telling her about all of this made her feel bad.
Luz: Mom, I'm sorry! I-i shouldn't have said all that! I shouldn't have told you-!
Camila: NO! Don't you dare say that! I needed to know that! Don't ever apologize or feel upset about how feeli g how you do!
Luz: But...but I made you cry.
Camila: And I made you feel alone. Unloved.
Luz: No. You didn't. Everyone else made me feel like that.. You were the only person that made me feel like I actually mattered.
Luz wipes away her tears and gets a genuine smile on her face.
Luz: Coming home to be with you after being ignored and bullied at school were the best parts of my days. Hanging out with you, and watching movies with you, or going out into the woods with you to play...those were the times when I never felt alone. Mom, you were never why I left. You're the only reason I even think about going back home.
Overwhelmed by their emotions, Luz and Camila stamp themselves against their sides of the mirror and cry into them. The others just watch in silence as they whisper "I love you" and "I'm sorry" and the like to each other. Letting out all their love for each other and soothing the stings of the past caused by lies.

I cannot stop thinking about Luz’s character arc and how beautifully flawed she is
Luz’s default love language is brilliant heroic acts, but she sucks at actually talking things out and expressing that she’s worried about someone. She always wants to be in her perfect fantasy world where she’s the hero, and the hero always wins, and everything is wrapped up all neat and tidy once the fighting’s over.
(Detailed thoughts under cut)
Luz will see someone hurting and immediately she needs to insert herself into the situation, even if she has no idea what she’s doing and getting involved will probably make things worse in the long run. Among other things, she has:
-immediately volunteered as Grom Queen to help Amity, despite everyone telling her she’d be hopeless at it
-challenged Boscha to that grugeby match, and was ready to play on her own when her teammates quit, lying repeatedly to tell herself that she’d obviously win because she was the good guy
-tried to steal that one hat for Eda from right under the emporer’s covens noses, and then later was immediately willing to go along with Eda’a mom when she claimed she had a cure, because Luz really REALLY wanted to believe that, if she was good enough, she could fix the issue
-tried to make a deal with amity’s parents to let her and her friends return to school
Each time, putting herself in the line of danger for a small chance of helping someone who she loves, with a stupid amount of optimism
Side note, I love how she definitely got the initiative for kindness from Camila. The little moment of Camila taking down the trap and the episode later showing that Luz knows immediately how to get Vee out of the trap is such a good little detail
But Luz’s issues with fantasy and reality are real serious issues at times, because she doesn’t want to face any of the issues that are too messy or too real, where fairytale logic won’t apply.
In both of the times it’s been implied that Luz was bullied, she was never feeling sorry for herself or asking for help, she was just trying to use storybook logic to fix herself so it would be better, by planning out a better way to confess to amity and by trying to make a plan to help vee not be attacked. Her takeaway wasn’t “that sucked,” it was “i messed up, now I’m going to try and do better”
She is terrible at accepting that there are some situations where things are bad that are NOT her fault.
She sees every single situation she faces as either a task that she should be good enough to defeat on her own like the hero she is, or as something that she absolutely refuses to think about and shoves to the back of her mind.
Which is why she was able to save Vee and play the hero, and she was strong enough to talk to her mom in that moment,
but then when it calmed down and Camila was crying and Luz was so worried about her and wanted everything to just be okay and her mom to be happy, she was so much more lost on what to do
Idk i just really love luz noceda so much, she’s so fantastic and relatable and also plz go to therapy and get some help queen

On Boschlow, Skarlow and imaginary moral superiority
Alright, before anyone wants to yell at me for putting this in the ship tags, this is less an “anti ship”-post and more of an “I want to have this conversation with shippers because I think it’s important to talk about this”-post.
So, Boschlow has always been a fairly popular ship in the fandom, which doesn’t really surprise me, because the whole bully/victim dynamic is just incredibly popular, no matter which fandom you enter.
As a person that got bullied throughout the majority of my high school years, I have thoughts about this dynamic being so popular in general, but that’s not what we’re here to discuss today.
Recently, there has been an increasing number of Skarlow shippers making art and writing fics.
What makes this so different from Boschlow?
Essentially... nothing, and that’s exactly why I felt the need to make a post about this.
I’ve seen a bunch of Skarlow shippers say they do not ship Boschlow because Boscha is an awful person, putting themselves above the Boschlow shippers and making Skarlow a “superior” dynamic, based on... what, exactly?
From my perspective, there’s exactly two things Skara has on Boscha when it comes to shipping her with Willow. One being, she hasn’t thrown trash on her—which is an incredibly low bar to set.
The other thing? Skara acknowledged Willow’s Grudgby skills at the end of WILW.
And that’s a scene that gets misinterpreted a lot. See, people take Skara being nice to Willow here as a sign that she’s a way better person than Boscha, that she’s changed, and so on and so forth.
But this is untrue.
What exactly is it that changes between the beginning of WILW and the ending of the episode, between Willow and Skara specifically? It’s that Skara has seen Willow is good at Grudgby. Grudgby is something of value to Skara, thus, Willow’s skills impressing her makes Willow someone worthy of being treated well.
The ending of the Grudgby episode isn’t everyone except Boscha suddenly magically being better people. They’re all still very much bullies. They’re just now seeing Willow as someone who is better than other people because of her skills—and should therefore be treated better.
Boscha isn’t as willing to share her imaginary pedestal with Willow. But that’s the only difference. All the Grudgby girls are currently still on that pedestal. They’re just seeing Willow as someone worth sharing it with now. If they saw someone being “weak” the way they thought Willow to be previously to the match, they’d bully that person the same way they did Willow.
This isn’t any of them being better. This is all of them behaving the same way they always have. Willow is just moving up in their social hierarchy.
It shouldn’t take being good at some magical sport, or being a talented witch, or whatever the heck, to decide not to bully someone. NOBODY deserves to be bullied. Even the weakest, least sporty witch of the Boiling Isles should be treated with the same amount of respect as any of their classmates. Your value as a person shouldn’t be defined by how good you are at something. You have value no matter what you are and aren’t good at. And that’s something Skara and the others still fail to acknowledge.
Also I think it’s worth noting that even when they were treating Willow better at the end of the episode, they didn’t go out of their way to apologize for how they’d treated her before. They acknowledged her skills and don’t at all comment on how they treated her previously to the match.
If it takes some huge effort from Willow and her friends for the Grudgby girls to treat her with even an ounce of respect, that’s not character development. Character development would be them changing their general behavior. Acknowledging the way they’ve treated others was shitty, apologizing for that and actually working on being better. Is there a possibility this might happen? Sure. But you guys basically pretend WILW is their redemption arc already fully done. You’re giving Skara and the others credit for something that currently haven’t even happened.
And the option of them ditching Boscha (which also currently hasn’t happened) wouldn’t be a redemption arc either, even if it could be part of one.
Cutting toxic people out of your life can help, but Amity’s redemption arc was that, plus her explaining herself to Willow and giving Willow time, and actually acting on her word of not letting her friends pick on her again. Amity making it up to Willow wasn’t that she cut out Boscha and Skara. It was that she not only promised to be better but acted accordingly, standing at Willow’s side when she needed her.
(And Skara not constantly being a dipshit when she’s in the background is not a valid argument for why she’s a better person than Boscha. Boscha is also a harmless character when the episode isn’t focused on her, e.g. in Covention & Sense and Insensitivity. That Skara isn’t actively bullying her friends—which, uh, most people like their friends? This shouldn’t be that surprising?—is not a thing that should earn her any points in being “nicer” than Boscha.)
Do I think it might be a bit easier to get through to Skara than Boscha when it comes to letting go of current behaviors? Possibly.
From the way their characters are written and with how Boscha refuses to acknowledge Willow as equal even after the Grudgby match, it’s fairly obvious that it would need some pretty major event to get through to her. There’s an extra step here with Boscha (needing to learn to acknowledge others as having equal value to herself) that Skara doesn’t need to take.
BUT that one step in what should be a fairly long journey for either of them is far from enough to justify one ship being better than the other.
From the way I’ve seen it written (and unfortunately also experienced it in the comment section of my own fic), a bunch of skarlow shippers like to excuse Skara’s behavior by entirely pinning it on Boscha, pretending she’s actually a great person and that it’s only her friendship with Boscha that makes her toxic—and also that Boscha is the only one that should be held accountable for everyone’s behavior.
I am not exaggerating, I got a comment that essentially said “this shows wonderfully that Amelia and Skara are actually good people that unfortunately met a horrible person that had too much control over them.”
This strips Skara and Amelia of any accountability for their actions. And the idea of Boscha being an evil mastermind that forced all her friends into doing things they never wanted is... quite frankly, stupid, and also untrue. Skara actively encourages Boscha making fun of Willow at the beginning of Understanding Willow:

In the same episode it’s also stated that Amity “let her new friends bully [Willow] for years”, which definitely includes Skara and isn’t just about Boscha.
Skara looks really pleased when Boscha takes Willow’s hair clip at the beginning of WILW, just appears bored and not at all sympathetic when she throws gum at Willow, and grins gleefully when Boscha suggests using the others as target practice later in the episode:

Also, in Once Upon A Swap, Boscha’s entire squad is messing with people all over Bonesborough. Skara is throwing monster balloons at the city when Boscha isn’t even present:

Not only that, but a very large portion of the episode has Skara and the others literally ditch Boscha in favor of an even meaner person (King in Luz’s body).
King states, and I quote, “Hey, impressionable youths! Under my command, you could learn how to do some real damage.” after unleashing a monster on the city. And the entire group cheers him on and decides to follow him.

If Skara was actually so much better than Boscha, why the heck would she run after someone that is worse than her when given the opportunity?

And here comes the thing that a lot of the Skarlow shippers refuse to acknowledge because they for some reason feel the need to have moral superiority over Boschlow shippers: Skara isn’t a nice girl. Skara is a bully. And Skara should be held accountable for her actions in the same way as Boscha. Saying everything she did was just Boscha forcing her is entirely untrue to canon and just a lame excuse to make your ship look better.
Boscha and Skara have both bullied Willow for several years. If you want to ship either of them with her, even if you just want one of them to be friends with her, that needs to be acknowledged and definitely not excused. Even if you treat Skara’s bullying of Willow as something she did only due to Boscha (which, again, is canonically complete nonsense), she’s still hurt Willow to pretty much the same extent as Boscha has.
That a person isn’t as into the bullying as someone else doesn’t make it hurt any less for the victim of the bullying.
No matter if you ship Skarlow or Boschlow, commit to the reality that Skara and Boscha are both Willow’s bullies. Quit pretending Skara is so much better than Boscha, or that she isn’t responsible for her actions.
She is just as responsible for bullying Willow for years as Boscha is.
I’m so sick of hearing how Skara’s bullying is far more redeemable than Boscha’s. It’s not. Stop declaring bullying that doesn’t get physical harmless. As someone who was “only” ever verbally bullied, let me tell you that after four years of not seeing that person I’m still scarred by it. Stop getting your head so stuck in high school movies. Just because not every kind of bullying involves someone getting shoved into a locker doesn’t mean it’s not harmful.
Even worse: the take that people are shipping Skarlow “because they realized shipping Willow with Boscha is inherently toxic”. Tell me again why this “revolutionary” movement deciding that Willow deserves better then turns around and ships her with another one of her bullies?
This isn’t about treating Willow better. You’re just making Boscha seem unreasonably evil for no reason, and treating Skara as her not at all responsible victim, so you can ship Willow with her and don’t have to acknowledge that Willow is a victim of both of their bullying.
This needs to stop. Skara needs to be held just as accountable as Boscha.
If a Skarlow shipper exclusively comes from a perspective of “I think their personalities would mix better”? Sure, whatever, they may or may not, but that’s a valid opinion to have. But don’t start shipping Skarlow because you think you’re being better to Willow than the Boschlow shippers.
This whole thing isn’t a movement to get Willow a better girlfriend, lol
Both of them bullied her. Both ships are bully/victim dynamics. Skarlow does not actually have any moral superiority over Boschlow. As much as you refuse to acknowledge this, these two ships share the same basic dynamic.
Stop pretending shipping Willow with one of her bullies is leagues better than shipping her with another.
