TWO!!! HALVES!!! OF!!! THE SAME!!! WARRIOR!!!! you just get ready for what's to come djfjdkdk
at first I was a bit hmmmmmm about What Happens because it kind of came out of nowhere for me at first but then I was thinking about it more and I was like!!!! you know what!!! YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!! !!!! HHHHHNNNNN...NN!!!!!
oh boy oh boy oh boy i can't wait! i just know that i'm very obsessed with hwi and seon ho because they're so ! ! ! ! it's only been an episode and i can tell just how much history there is between them and how much they're used to fighting together, and i'm just like ah yes . . . i've seen this trope far too many times to understand that this will never, ever, ever end well
also, i'm watching episode two and i've already seen so many familiar faces! like hui jae's mother is played by the same woman who plays my fave je hee in inspector koo, and little seo yeon is played by the same kid who plays byeol in law school, and also and also hwi's dad saying do not let anyone oppress you. that's the only way you won't collapse. don't let anyone intimidate you even if they're stronger than you. only then can you hold out (also, i was like "why does hwi's dad look so familiar and then i found out that the actor played one of the main nurses in yeo jin goo and kim min ki's movie shoot me in the heart) like oh god the way this entire show is already so full of figures that are kind and good and are already looking to a better world and also god god god this show is making me so emotional on so many levels
but really . . . listen, so i kind of vaguely know what's going to happen to hwi and seon ho and i'm already waiting to see the cracks in their relationship and i'm so . . . . GOD please i don't want tragedies to happen but what was it that matthew stover said about how this story happened a long, long time ago and that there is nothing to be done to change it . . . i'm already steeling myself but i fear that i'm going to get attached and then cry anyways :(

IF YOU TOLD YOUR SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD SELF THAT YOU WOULD BE CURLED UP ON YOUR COUCH watching a movie with Chat Noir, you would have assumed you were making things up. But here you were anyway, against all the odds. It really made you wonder, if you hadn’t been so hung up on Yeonjun, and if Chat wasn’t so obsessed with your alter ego, would it have taken so long for you to realize how much you like spending time with him?
“Okay, so it’s a movie about singing? Like, Glee the movie?”
You narrowed your eyes over at him. Honestly, it was amusing seeing his leather clad body sprawled out across your couch, like it was the most normal thing in the world. A part of you wondered how long this would last before you would get too curious about his true identity. But, you knew better than anyone that you could never know.
Ladybug and Chat Noir’s identities had to remain secret.
“Pitch Perfect is not just a movie about singing.” You told him with a scoff. “It is also about sisterhood, and growing up, and finding the people who care about you.”
“I don’t know, it sounds a lot like Glee to me.” He shrugged, and you threw a piece of popcorn at him.
“Just shut up and watch it!” You scolded him, and he grinned at you as he picked up the popcorn and put it into his mouth. The feeling of your heart skipping a beat at the sight was so foreign, it scared you at first. But… You also kind of liked it.
The movie started, opening with a performance by the Treblemakers, and when Bumper appeared on the screen, you couldn’t help but think back to your friends saying he reminded them of Yeonjun.
Yeonjun. You were happy to say it had been a few days since he had crossed your mind. Moving on was hard, that was just a fact, but it wasn’t impossible. Once a week, you were forced to see him in the class you shared together, but you were no longer as hyper aware of his presence as you once were. You had even found yourself able to go a whole class period without even glancing in his direction.
Hard, but not impossible.
When your friends had first made the connection between Yeonjun and Bumper, you had leapt to his defense, just like you always did. But, now that you were watching it, you couldn’t help but giggle as the character danced across the screen. You weren’t sure exactly what the connection was, but there was one there.
Chat Noir looked over at you with an arched eyebrow. “What? What’s so funny?”
“Oh, nothing. Just thinking about how my friends said that Bumper reminded them of Yeon—a guy I used to like.” You were quick to catch yourself, side eyeing him as you prayed he didn’t catch that.
It looked like he didn’t, as he just blinked back at you. “Oh? You liked a guy before me? Was it that Mark guy? I always see him in your mentions.”
You let out a soft laugh at the assumption. “First of all, you’re assuming I like you. Second of all, no it wasn’t Mark.”
He nodded. “Good. Because that guy is a complete loser.”
“He is not a loser! He’s actually really nice and helped me through a rough time.” You rushed to your friend’s defense, and he rolled his eyes.
“So you do like him.”
“No, I don’t like Mark!” You huffed, and leaned back into the couch. “I… It doesn’t matter who it was, because I don’t like him anymore. He got a girlfriend.”
You held your gaze on the TV, the atmosphere suddenly becoming tense. You could see Chat shifting out of the corner of your eye, but didn’t dare look over to see what in the world he was doing. But, when you felt the cushion shift next to you, it became clear he had scooched closer to you.
“Y/N~” He sang your name in his usual sing-song tone, but you kept your attention on the screen.
“You’re gonna miss the best part!” You tried to distract him, as the Braden Bella’s were finishing up their song. You really weren’t in the mood to have some deep talk about your failed crush on Yeonjun, and hoped he would just drop it. He didn’t. Of course he didn’t.
“Whoever that guy was is an idiot. I mean, he’d have to be absolutely brain dead to pass on someone like you.” He ignored you.
You groaned, burying your face into your hands and rolling away from him. “Ugh, don’t do that!”
“Do what?” He sounded confused, and you peeked through your fingers to see him gazing down at you with furrowed brows.
“Lie to me.” You grumbled, and rolled onto your side.
He went quiet for a minute, and you thought maybe he had given up and decided to just watch the movie. “Y/N…” He spoke slowly, his voice much lower, and lacking the mischief it had when he called your name before.
You didn’t respond.
“I’m serious. I think you’re amazing, and I think that guy’s a moron. You’re smart, you’re talented, you’re funny, not to mention gorgeous. I’m not lying when I tell you that.”
Your cheeks were practically on fire. You had heard confessions from Chat Noir before, back when he was obsessed with your superhero alter ego, but not one like this. You didn’t want to, but you genuinely believed the words you were hearing to be true. He thought you were amazing.
“Really?” You breathed out, rolling back over so you were on your back, and could get a good look at him.
He nodded, and the level of seriousness he wore on his face caught you off guard. “I’m serious, Y/N. You’re amazing.”
Before you could fully grasp what was happening, he was leaning down, and propping himself up on his elbow so his face was inches from your own. You could hear your heartbeat in your ear as you simply stared at him, chest heaving with every nervous, heavy breath. His electric green eyes searched your own, and you wondered if they were naturally that bright, or if the mask made them look that way.
“Y/N?” For the third time, he called you out, and this time it was in a tone you didn’t recognize. You couldn’t find it in yourself to speak, too out of breath from the sudden proximity. Instead, you nodded a bit more frantically than you would have liked.
“Can I kiss you?”
You answered by curling your fingers underneath the collar of his suit, and jerked him down to connect his lips to your own. He didn’t hesitate even for a second when you kissed him, instead he almost immediately kissed you back with just as much passion. His lips fit perfectly against your own, as though they were made for one another.
Without thinking, you split your legs apart so he could slot himself between them, and get even closer to you. There was something about the superhero that was so addicting, like you couldn’t get enough of him. Even though you were out of breath, when he pulled away to breathe, you found yourself chasing after his lips.
“So,” he started, his broad chest heaving. “What was that you said, about me assuming you like me?” He smirked down at you, and you slapped his bicep out of annoyance.
“Shut up.” You breathed out, before pulling him down by his neck to kiss you again. He didn’t protest, and went back to hungrily making out with you. As embarrassing as your desire for him was, it was clear he wanted you just as bad, maybe even more so. What had you done to get Chat Noir so wrapped around your finger?
You felt like you were in heaven, with his hot lips melding against your own, and his gloved hand gliding up and down your side. That’s why you didn’t even think twice when your hand slid up the side of his face, and subconsciously tried to push his mask off.
Immediately he pulled away and sat up, hand darting up to his face to make sure you hadn’t moved it too much.
Your eyes widened in horror as you realized what you had just done—or at least what you had tried to do. “Oh, God, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to—“
“No-no-no, it’s fine, it’s just, um…” He laughed nervously, and started to back away to the other end of the couch. “Maybe we should slow down… You wanted to watch this movie, yeah? So let’s watch it.”
You wanted so badly to protest, but you knew he was right. You had gotten way too sucked into the moment, you had almost made him break the number one rule of being a superhero. So, you nodded instead, and sat back up to face the TV.
You barely watched the movie, though. Instead, there were a plethora of questions occupying your mind. Were you making a mistake, by letting yourself fall for him? It wasn’t going to be possible for you to be in a functioning relationship with him, not as long as he had to stay behind the mask. And you could never, ever ask him to take it off. That would be going against the rule you had always been so adamant about.
You couldn’t break that rule just because you had developed a crush on your partner.
So, what in the world you were you supposed to do now?

it's such a weird mixture of marriage propaganda and the latest cinderella movie in which all she wants to do is work, but then both leading ladies yeon woo in park's marriage contract and soon deok in the matchmakers are so charming, full of life and desires and I guess it kinda works? weirdly enough. they aren't groundbreaking shows, but they have something I feel most shows nowadays lack which is a leading lady with not only agency but a plot that actually cares about it. I guess we could say that in park's case, we'll have to wait and see where the story takes us, but so far it is yeon woo who gets to travel to the future, to get a second chance in life in a world that she can actually work and be married and travel, instead of having only one/two of those choices. it is a capitalist fantasy to wake up and have all that money, but she was a noble in the past so in this show it kind of doesn't bother me, tbh. it isn't rags to riches as much as it is just a woman discovering she can aim higher than she ever could've in her former life. and it's interesting because both leading ladies are widowers, and because of that they can't just go about their lives, they can't even live with their own family. in soon deok's case she manages to have her "second" life as a matchmaker, as a merchant with a fake name/identity in which no one realizes who she actually is. I mean, aside from our lovely male lead. he is also important to the plot and everything, but soon deok is the "agent of love", she is the one with the knowledge to make their plan work, she is the one with the interesting backstory, with the amazing and complex dynamic with her own mother in law. so that's why those shows are kinda funny to me, because on the outside it looks straight out of a plot to make me want to care about heterosexual marriage and its importance (and from what we've read about women not wanting to get married in sk in the past few years...), and don't get me wrong I still think there is a lot of marriage propaganda in it. but I think the show works because despite this the story cares for those women, and the show loves them. we love them and want them to get everything they ever dreamed of, be it a job, a man who is a loser and a virgin, or just to be their own person outside of all those societal rules. and as far as wish fulfillment goes, I feel like this is not that bad, tbh. if both stories continue to tell me I can have it all, even knowing I probably can't!, at least it will be a nice change for once. like, remember the times when romcoms were actually good and actually cared about the women in them. maybe...! we can have it in this. idk, but I'll keep watching.

THEIR S/O AS THEIR CLEANER
Featured characters: Allen Sugasano, Hajun Yeon, Anne Faulkner ➜ Tags: Headcanons, bulletpoint fic, casual romance, established relationships, a whole lot of silliness, she/her pronouns, fem reader ➜ Synopsis: BAE with their own personal cleaning lady who happens to be their significant other!
Tumblr media
You loved your job as a cleaner. It was fun and therapeutic. It was also really interesting to see how each client lived their lives through the state of their rooms...
Tumblr media
ALLEN SUGASANO
Standing in a room that you knew off by heart, you sighed to yourself.
You rarely interacted with your clients before, so you didn't need to interact with him either. He wasn't even here to begin with, so you supposed that made things a little bit easier.
It wasn't like you picked this apartment to clean. After all, you were a part of a cleaning service where your manager brought those jobs to you. It so happens that this time, you're cleaning your boyfriend's apartment that he shared with his friends.
This is kind of funny, you thought. Pulling the gloves over your hands, you started working. It didn't take too long as the apartment was already tidy thanks to Hajun. You were just there to clean the harder spots.
During that, you would find music sheets in the most random places. You laughed as you collected them like it was some sort of game.
"He's so stupid," you murmured, scanning through the papers that Allen had dropped everywhere. Most of them were lyrics he had thought up, the rest were musical notes. You piled them neatly on his desk before leaving.
Allen returned from university and had noticed the pile of music sheets on his desk with a corresponding handwritten note on top of them saying, 'Be careful next time ;).'
He was weirded out, but mainly appreciative. "Wow, I was looking all over for these!" he chirped. "Our new cleaner is so nice!"
Since you were appointed to Allen's apartment for the next few weeks, you decided to mess with him. After every cleaning session, you'd leave him a little note on his desk.
Even more weirded out by the lovey-dovey letters, Allen tells Anne and Hajun about it. They didn't know you were their cleaner either, so they thought it was odd too. The next time you came to clean, they decided to confront you. (Anne thought of just complaining to the agency first, but Hajun convinced them otherwise.)
As you unlocked the door, they were there waiting for you on the other side.
"(Y/N)?" Allen yelled, confused. "YOU'RE our new cleaner?"
"Haha, you know... that makes perfect sense," chuckled Hajun. "Not only did she write YOU letters, but she cleaned your room too."
All you could do was laugh. "I'm sorry!" you exclaimed. "I was going to come clean when I was finished with my weeks here."
"Allen, you didn't recognise (Y/N)'s handwriting?" asked Anne, laughing.
When he thought about it, he did find it weird how the handwriting in those letters were familiar. Now that he knew it was you who wrote them, he found the letters kind of cute.
He was kind of disappointed that you were there temporarily though, but he was thankful for the work that you did.
So for the remaining weeks you were their cleaner, Allen would try to come home early to greet you even when you'd tell him that you were going to see him later anyway.
But he just wanted to see his beautiful girlfriend every chance he got! With how happy he was whenever he saw you, you couldn't help but laugh along with him. He would try to help you clean, but you'd always reject him as it was your job.
He had kept all the letters you wrote to him before as a keepsake, deciding to do the same for you before you stopped being their cleaner. And so on your last day, he did just that, slipping the note into your pocket when you weren't paying attention. You'd only realise once you got home, reading the letter that made your lips curve into a smile.
Thank you for everything, (Y/N). I love you! ♡
— Allen :)

HAJUN YEON
Things were getting a lot busier due to Paradox Live that Hajun had no time to clean the apartment. He decided to hire a cleaner to take the burden off his shoulders, but little did he know that the cleaner he hired was you, his girlfriend.
Hajun didn't know you were a cleaner. You decided to keep that a secret since you knew he would just tease you about it. There was also a chance he would put you down for working such a 'lowly job.'
But you liked your job as a cleaner! You were good at it and you loved helping people out!
When you saw that he had contacted you through the agency, you were extremely nervous. You didn’t want your boyfriend of high profile to find out that you were a cleaner!
So you decided that on the first day of cleaning his apartment, you were going to hide your identity.
With your hair up in a bun, wearing glasses and a mask, you were ready to clean your boyfriend’s apartment!
"So all I want you to clean is the bathroom, kitchen and the living room," he began. "I would appreciate it if you could organise things too. You don't need to clean our bedrooms or anything else."
You nodded in response. He was so polite, charming even, that it made you want to giggle.
"Text me when you're finished. I'll send the payment over when I return."
You nodded again, not wanting to reveal your voice. When Hajun left with a quick goodbye, that's when you started cleaning the place. You did as you were told, and once you were finished with the job, you texted Hajun straight away (through the agency's number, of course.)
Despite the many times you came to clean his apartment, Hajun, thankfully, didn't notice that it was you who was cleaning it. Though, his tone changed ever so slightly whenever he thanked you for your time. Then one day, you had to confront him on your payment.
"Um... excuse me, Mr. Yeon..." you said, changing up your voice a little. "You gave me more than what I should've been given..."
Hajun chuckled. "Just think of it as a bonus. You've been doing such a good job lately, and I would like to reward you for it."
"Oh, then... thank you so much...!"
He waved you goodbye as you left the apartment. You thought it was kind of weird for him to give you a bonus, but you appreciated it nevertheless – even if it was from your own boyfriend.
But as time went on, you became increasingly suspicious of Hajun and the words that he said. He would start complimenting little things about you as if he was flirting.
You would brush them off with only work on your mind, but then something set you off one day.
“You’re really cute, you know?” he said. “Are you perhaps interested in going to dinner with me tonight? If you’re free, that is~?”
Who was he talking to? Surely he didn’t know it was you, right? And if he didn’t, was he just flirting with his cleaner?
“I’m sorry, but I would have to reject…” you said bluntly. “Plus… someone like you probably has a girlfriend already.”
“No, I’m single,” he replied which made you stop in your tracks.
“…What?”
“So let’s go on a date," he clarified.
“Are you serious, Hajun?!” you cried, yanking your mask and glasses off. "Flirting with your own cleaner?!"
But what you didn't expect from him was laughter. He was laughing so much he had to hold in his stomach.
"Hahaha, (Y/N), did you really think I was going to cheat on you for my cleaner?" he guffawed. "Anyway, I knew it was you to begin with. How could I not recognise my lovely girlfriend?"
Arms crossed, you pouted and looked away from his gaze. Hajun brought you closer to him, embracing you with gentle hands.
"Why didn't you tell me you were a cleaner?" he asked.
"...You'd make fun of me for it," you murmured into his chest. "I was scared you'd hate me for it."
Well, it was true that Hajun wouldn't want to be interacting with people 'below' him (look at the twins for example), but it was you. He wouldn't have thought that about you.
He reassured you that he didn't care what you worked as. If you liked your job, then that was all that mattered. Plus, he thought you did an excellent job at cleaning their apartment.
"Isn't my girlfriend the best~?" he singsonged as he rocked you back and forth. "(Y/N), I'm proud of you no matter what you do. Now... would you like to go to dinner with me?"
You nodded, smiling up at him. "Yes, I would love to."

ANNE FAULKNER
Anne had suggested to Hajun that they hire a cleaner since the next few weeks were going to be really busy for them. Not only was Paradox Live in their minds, but also exams.
Hajun had agreed, but before he could find a cleaner, Anne recommended you, their girlfriend.
So here you were cleaning their apartment and Anne's room. It had you thinking that the reason they recommended you was literally so you could clean their room.
You didn't mind it though. They were your partner after all. And anyway, cleaning Anne's room was fun. You loved seeing all the clothes and decorations they had in their room – it said a lot about their character. After cleaning, you'd hang out in their room too, waiting for them to come back from university or work.
Usually, the three would be at university whenever you were cleaning, so there was minimal interaction. By the time you'd finish, you were gone (unless it was a day you wanted to spend with Anne).
They were in awe at how fast you cleaned up the place, leaving not a speck of dust. Anne was really proud of you as they listened to their friends' compliments about you.
However, when they were at home and you were cleaning, you would chime into their conversations. The four of you were friends, so it wasn't weird to butt into what they were discussing. Usually, the conversations were about music, but sometimes they were about lectures.
Since exams were coming up, the three were revising. Hajun was studying in his own room whilst Anne was with Allen. You were in the background cleaning up their kitchen with headphones on. When you were finished for the day, you tapped Anne lightly on the shoulder.
"Anne, I'm done. I'm going to go now–"
"W-Wait, (Y/N)! Could you help us for a bit?" Anne asked with their hands together, begging you to stay. "Please~? I know how smart you are~"
"Anne..."
Even Allen joined in on the begging.
"You guys, I'm your cleaner, not your tutor!" you whined. "We also take different courses!"
Sometimes Anne would help you clean so you could view them as responsible, but you would never let them. With how fast you were going, you would end up cleaning the spot they were trying to clean before they could even finish.
"Anne, just leave it to me, okay?"
They admired you for how hardworking you were and would always compliment you when your job was done. Hugging and kissing you all over that it was kind of embarrassing.
When your time at their apartment came to an end, Anne was upset that they wouldn't be able to see you every day like before. But they knew that you weren't going to clean their apartment forever, so they thought of gifting you something before you left.
"Here, (Y/N), a gift for you for being my favourite cleaner!" they said excitedly, handing you over an envelope.
You opened it up, and as you expected, it was cash – a whole stack of it.
"Anne, you didn't need to–"
"I had to. You worked so hard for the last few weeks and you deserve it," they said. "I earned this all for you by the way, so you better take it! Get yourself something nice, okay~?"
You grinned, happiness and love overflowing you. You jumped into their arms, thanking them for being your favourite client.
"Then let's have a date tonight!" you chirped. "We haven't been able to have a proper date lately!"
"Okay, love, let's do that!"

Warning: A long Rant
Okay, so I've spent the whole span of AoS season 2 seeing people criticize Jang Uk for not recognising Naksu.
And I can't take it anymore.
Yes it is a bit of a lazy writing on the writers part. But this is not wrong in any way. See the biggest mistake they did was show us Jang Uk 3 yrs later, but there's just one flashback scene. Only one. We don't see him building into a dark character. That was definitely lazy writing.
But have you gone through a dark patch in your life? It takes so much away from you. It makes your mind foggy. It hampers with your thinking. You behave weirdly. So much so that people around you tell you're not you anymore. Which just adds on to the misery.
Which is exactly what happened to Jang Uk. He died guys. Protecting the woman he loved. But he came back alive. And he couldn't save her. And then he finds out that in some f**ked up way he's responsible for her death.
The 1st season was very clearly showed how smart Jang Uk was. Witty, edgy, sharp, spontaneous. A genius. He had to be. He had been judged and humiliated all his life, left with no speck of power. His wit was all he had.
He had read, understood and memorized books far over his level.
He had recognised Naksu by looking at the blue marks in her eyes and the way she held the crab leg to his neck.
Remember he copied Heo Yeom's breathing technique even when he knew nothing about energy usage.
He had figured out they were trapped in the ice stone and was already finding solutions even before Mudeok mentioned it. He was also the one who came up with the solution.
When Naksu stabbed him, before the pain the surprise registers. You can actually see the wheels turning in his head. Which is why he pulls her in. He knows she didn't do it. Even to the very end he was the smartest. Jin Mu managed to fool the entire kingdom, but not him.
So what changed?
Do you remember that flashback scene. It was sometime after he'd come back to life. And in that short span of time he'd completely figured out that she was not responsible for those crimes and who were. Till that moment Jang Uk was still sharp. But Park Jin telling him he's responsible for her death is the point of no return. You see in his eyes the moment he breaks apart (Lee Jae Wook deserves all the awards for this). For the first time in his life there is something, that with all his intelligence, he can't wrap his head around. That not only could he not save the love of his life, but he was responsible for her death.
After that Jang Uk changes. He doesn't see and notice things like before, because he's not like before. He's not bright and witty anymore. He considers himself dead, which is why he says he's not going to do anything. He wants to die. Do you think he's seeing things straight when he's suicidal?
We do see some semblance of the old Jang Uk when he's with his close ones. When he meets Yul and Dangu. When he's with Park Jin or Kim Doju. When Yul is sad he understands. He is genuinely happy Jin Bu-Yeon lights up the lamp.
When Park Jin asks Jang Uk who he would save between him and Kim Doju, he says Kim Doju. Which was a funny scene. But this not what season 1 Jang Uk would have said. Remember Jang Uk sacrificed his own powers to save everybody trapped in the ice stone. And when Park Jin says that he should save both, you see realisation hit his eyes. He was not given a scenario where he could only save one. He can save both, but this didn't occur to him. Season 1 Jang Uk would have answered that he would try to save both.
He saves Jin Bu-Yeon only because she can kill him. But you see he does recognise her. He looks deep into her eyes. Searching... But he doesn't find what he's looking for. Her actions confuse him. But at that point he's to scared to be hopeful. Because it's too good to be true. Which is why he outright says to Jin Bu-Yeon that she could be a replacement for Naksu since she reminded him so much of her. But she retaliates. Everytime. She repeatedly tells him she's not that woman. That she is herself. That he should see her for who she is. Which is how he is finally able to mourn and heal. He's finally able to be happy again.
Also him finding out who she was would have made him happy and relieved that she was alive. But it wouldn't have brought him out his guilt or his darkness. He would still be haunted by events of his past. He wouldn't have been able to mourn or heal.
And you see Jang Uk come back. He's accepted the fact that sometimes his wife might remember things from his past because she has the blue jade egg. He knows that she reminds him of his lover, but that's okay, he can love again. He's made peace with his past. And just when he is happy, she leaves, again. But this time he's not confused. He tells her that he doesn't care about her past. Or that he fell for her over some confusion. He also knows that she does like him, but also is only lying to him. But he doesn't pry. He only says that he'll wait for her.
Yes, I see the problem with him finding out about her so late. Or prolonging the amnesia plot. Because there's only 2 episodes left. And there's your problem. Only 10 episodes. If season 2 was also 20 episodes that wouldn't be a problem. Moving at this pace is not actually wrong. But leaving only 2 episodes to solve the rest of the problems is.
If you've read this far, you do see my point. Don't you?
P.S. I knew they weren't going to let them find out before they fell in love again. I knew that they were going to find out just when they were happy again. Because for some reason Hong Sisters don't like happy couples.

hiiii! I can ask for some hdcns for hajun, allen, kanata with an orphan mc fem who also has a younger sister whom she loves very affectionately and teaches (things like sums, reading, etc.) since they can't attend school je, well In summary, how would they react to a tender relationship between sisters~ (since we have seen several brother relationships in the anime, so I was wondering how things would be with a fluffy and sweet relationship between sisters with a lot of hug uvu) I hope I have explained myself well ;u; tell me if something was not understood and I will rephrase it again, tkm <33
┈➤ that's such a cute request! Hopefully, this will suffice for your scenarios, please enjoy!

Allen Sugasano
he notices you with a scratch paper you hold with. Allen was quick to take an interest in
Aware of the circumstances your life has been through he is sure to ask why you have that paper along with you. It didn't shrug the fact you said you want to teach your sister back at home today.
Allen wanted to help and the care and concern he shows he visiting you two at your house
It wasn't pretty much shabby nor abandoned as you mainly took care of everything around. Managing only you and your little sister, which Allen admires that of you
He sees your little sister at the front door directly she greets him before rushing you with a big hug
How cute isn't it? Allen was a bit cautious about wherever places he went, shy enough to bow as he walked inside
You prepared a small table with the scratch paper on your hands and placed it along with a notebook and a pen
"New lesson to teach her?" Allen asked as he watched you
You answered yes to the hip-hop genius with a soft smile showed your face. When your little sister arrives back to see you handling a new topic she has quipped her attention to you as you speak
Something Allen felt was genuinely unconditional that you wanted to help her know the bigger things and the outside world which he had a heartfelt weight on his chest. Chuckling as he also joined the discussion.
Wholesome moment when you put a lot of effort into telling your little sister what's good and bad, and there's nothing to be afraid of risking challenges in it too
You were a standing mother to her, she is more important to you than anyone else which Allen understands as he listens to you.
There are random conversations that relate to your new topic and yet rambles that your sister will find entertaining even in the slightest thought. Allen stares at you without any notice as you are focused on telling more about your sibling.
There are moments Allen grew fonder of your sibling relationship that he caters his time to talk with your little sister too.
He knows how hard it is to live up to the reality you've been facing. As Allen was supposed to leave, he chuckled and smiled at you saying "You know what? I think you'll be a great teacher someday. If I were to help you. I thank you for such a good role model for her."

Hajun Yeon
Such an observer, he would help you out about things with you and your little sister
But you were a persistent older sibling to her no matter what which Hajun respects
Something Hajun finds in someone that he wished to feel for throughout his past life with a rich family. Love wasn't something he saw nor felt within his presence before, until the picture of you and your littlbutister's bond
Hajun can only think and imagine how life was been for you to pursue just for this little lady. He sometimes assists you around when you need him. Education is a treasure that he believes in, despite the difference in his experience between the two of you. He wouldn't miss a chance to help out as well
Funny that sometimes Hajun would slide sarcastic comments about your teachings to your little sister which ends up with him and your sibling picking a tease on you. But who doesn't it? Hajun as his ways to do so
He feels like he is also part of this bond you two had. Even your little sister starts to call him "oppa" when he comes around visiting your place.
He makes sure to bring some books, papers, notebooks, and pens to find. He showers your little sister with gifts he knows she can appreciate.
Of course, you're not missing out. Hajun isn't the type to be verbal, but showing his side of effort and gifts are his ways.
Aside from that, it's a relief you're not the only one helping out to teach your little sibling. Hajun gives the best learnings for her to share as he was given the best education. So he wouldn't be shy about it.

Kanata Yatonokami
As Kanata relates to this kind of situation. He always reminds him and Nayuta in this case. He sees you with your little sister laughing as you discuss lots of things going on. The world outside is mysterious and something to explore.
He simply agrees with a few things you teach her, there are times when Kanata's words are full of direct bluntness which he says they should know as early as possible before they can step up the reality.
In hindsight of this relationship that you and your little sister had he couldn't deny thinking of Nayuta the way you take care of her. Every patience, every moment you worded for her about the things she should be grateful for and that she doesn't need to do for their living survival? Thus, other things you would do to sacrifice in order not to lose someone special, and a family? Kanata felt that.
You're like a mother to her the way Kanata stands up doing odd jobs for a living, a standing parent for their siblings. Finally, another one who can relate to his struggles
When you're out going to buy some new notebooks for your little sister which are mostly used for her random scribbles. Kanata simply talks to the kid randomly while you're away
Your little sister is just being a child of her own, scribbling on her notebook as she presents it to Kanata.
He blinked and laughed noticing this little kid drew him, "You're something huh?"
He never felt like this being close to someone and yet welcomed. Like how he and Nayuta only had each other, he could only hope that Nayuta was here with him. Pretty sure you'll be the only person Kanata understands more by how this situation is meant for you two to talk about.
As you go home by the time, Kanata is just talking to your sister as she still scribbles in her notebook. You noticed Kanata's doodle of him and your sister together playing. There's a note from your little sister that says "big brother" on her paper.
Chuckling aside, you excused Kanata to let your sister behave and they shall start their learning fun. Kanata is willing to stay for long as he sees what bond you two have.
He didn't find it boring when you talked about other things aside from how to write and read. You taught your little sister some basic math you know. Even kidding aside if Kanata knows something which he slyly ignores that you find adorable his reactions are.
Daily he goes to see you and your little sister having quality time together there are no instances that your bond with her reflects where he and Nayuta spend.

Marry My Husband (2024)
Tumblr media
This show is not perfect, and it is certainly not Perfect Marriage Revenge, but it does have its charms.
What Worked
Like that other show about a time traveling wife who was betrayed by her family and goes back in time to get her revenge, this show was good because of its villains. Song Ha-yoon who plays the evil best friend Jung Soo-min was the most fun to watch of the baddies. She was believably bad while pretending to be nice, and watching her spiral out of control over the course of the series was a treat.
The show also made the most of its side characters, giving them interesting plots and bringing in a solid cast. I especially loved watching young actor Choi Gyu-ri bring this delightful manic energy to Yoo Hui-yeon (the younger sister / bestie). I could have used more scenes with her, and hopefully she'll break into a lead role in a future series.
What DIdn't Work
Though it had a solid final two episodes, the show sagged a bit in the last third. They brought in an evil-ex fiance character that just wasn't interesting to watch.
Also, there were a few moments where the show went from "Over the Top" to "Completely Unbelievable". Like the end of episode 13 (aka the "slowest truck of doom ever") and the end of episode 14 (aka "WTF Ji-won, don't just stand there, Kick him in the nuts, FFS!").
The Performances
Park Min-Young as ("Time Traveling Wife") Kang Ji-won. I've been kind of disappointed in PMY's choices lately, so it was nice to see her in a somewhat better role. There were moments when I felt pathos, or enjoyed the romance, but not that many. Mostly, it was the moments in the show where she got to be angry—and even a little ruthless—that I remember. Which is part of the appeal for any good revenge show.
Na In-woo as ("Future CEO") Yoo Ji-hyuk. I think he was a little wooden in this, but alot of that was the writing. The show was really focused on the FL and on her relationships, and it didn't have much space for him. I didn't really mind that, but it did make those few moments where he got to cut loose a little (like the ice cream scene) more memorable.
Lee Yi-kyung as ("The terrible ex-") Park Min-hwan. This guy was great at playing a mediocre man completely out of his depth. He was like one of those clown punching bags that just pop right up after you hit them. And it was fun watching him get beaten down and come right back up for more.
Song Ha-yoon as ("The evil bestie") Jung Soo-min. I liked watching her slowly get more evil and more crazy as the show went on. The actor did a great job making her contemptible, while pretending to be kind and thoughtful.
Lee Ji-kwang as ("The chef") Baek Eun-ho. Probably the most sympathetic character in the show. He just wants to run his restaurant and feed all his friends and get a cute girlfriend and all of these crazy people keep coming in and messing with things. Would have liked to see more of him, and his loveline, but what we got was nice.
Choi Gyu-ri as ("The Best Sister in the World") Yoo Hui-yeon. This actor had golden retriever energy and it was so much fun watching her in the middle of this craziness. I want to see an entire show with her just running around living her best life. We needed more of Hui-yeon and chef's story than we got, for sure.
Gong Min-jeung as ("Sad boss") Assistant Manager Yang. I've seen this actor a few times and I always enjoy her, though they rarely give her a good loveline. She got a pretty decent one here, despite all the other crazy stuff that happened, so that was nice. Again, could have used a few more scenes with her and Lee Seok-joon.
Ha Do-kwon as ("The Salaryman") Lawyer Lee Seok-joon. He did a good job bringing some gravity to this crazy show. Was able to be funny too (in a Butler Jeeves kind of way). Not enough time spent on him and Manager Yang's story, but what we got was good.
BoA as ("The Evil Ex-") Oh Yu-ra. This character felt more like a plot device than anything. There were a few moments where she could have felt menacing or crazy, but I don't think the actor was quite up to it. They needed to cast a real Mean Girl, but they didn't have enough story for that kind of character.
Ha Do-kwon as ("Bad Manager") Lee Seok-joon. They brought in a really good character actor and this guy made the most of the part. He felt like someone I could have met in real life, and I despised him. Which means the actor did a great job.
Everyone Else. The high school bully girls were fun to watch. Yang's husband did an okay job being despicable. The judo teammates were funny. Even the grandfather had a couple of good moments. Show did a good job taking care of its minor characters.
TL; DR:
If you liked Perfect Marriage Revenge, you'll probably like this too (and vice-versa). It's different enough that you don't feel like you're watching the same show twice. It's also not quite as good as that other show, which means people likely judged it a little harder than they otherwise might have done.

Tae Ha keeps on trying to draw a line with Yeon Woo, but he is unable to keep his distance. Him thinking about the kiss all day, when she does even remember was funny to me.
Tae Ha has some sort of trauma. Is is evil mom not his mom but step mom??? Who was dying and he was locked into a room with her? He still has a heart condition which might be getting worse. I do love how Yeon Woo comforted him.
Just who is Cheonmyeong and what does she have to do with Yeon Woo? Also, who is that following Yeon Woo in the woods and what is them meaning of the grave marker that Yeon Woo found - Faithful Wife?
When time froze, did Tae Ha see all the flashbacks? He was already beginning to believe her but does he now know how they are tied?
I am so happy that Yeon Woo found Sa Wol. And like Yeon Woo, she has adapted relatively quickly to the new world she has found herself in and has a good grasp on who she can trust. Love the two of them.

It's funny how some firsts will always stick,
like, I don't even watch QoT but I see Park Sung Hoon and I still go "oh, oh babie i love him" because i first watched him in My Only One ages ago where he was this nice guy who basically falls for the nice stepsister of Cinderella (that's basically the plot of My Only One; I was looking for his and the girl's crumbs scenes in it cz they were sides) and i loved him from that
then proceeded to watch him in another kbs special where he's a sweet police officer, so until now he's stuck as nice serious guy/Corporal Na from that kbs special
So it doesn't matter how many times I see him take the role opposite of the protagonists, he will always be nice serious guy from My Only One to me 😅
Edit : I watched The Glory tho, and guess what I was still going "oh babie :))))" but it was also accompanied with "NO babie to be found :///"
Edit (2) : This goes for Kwak Dong Yeon as well. He hasn't been in a sageuk drama at all, since Love in The Moonlight, not one, but since that was the first time I ever watched him in a drama, my brain always kinda thinks he looks strange in a modern drama and with short hair 😅😅 long hair suits him so well and tbh all the characters he's taken after LitM are just 😆😅😔 compared to the upright and serious prince bodyguard he was from LitM

Maybe this sounds strange.. but I had to ask for it, for kenta, shion, nayuta, dongha and , headcanons with a cute mc who has a tarantula as a pet and confidante (is friendly~) and follows her everywhere, hidden, also she and her tarantula understand each other very well, for example the tarantula knows when its owner is down and tries to cheer her up, yeah xd, this is a curious request bc i have fear of spiders but i like to imagine a mc having one as a pet idk thanks for making this blog ^^
Dongha Yeon:
Dongha has no idea why you’d want a pet tarantula, but it seemed like an exotic pet a rich person would have so he didn’t complain about it too often. He’d prefer it keep his distance from him and would absolutely insist that you warn him of where the tarantula is on your body at all times, just because he wanted to know and not because he was afraid of a hairy leg suddenly touching his hand again.
Kenta Mikoshiba:
Kenta actually considered telling you there was something wrong with you but after seeing how protective the spider was, he decided it’s better to keep his mouth shut. He does think it’s funny as hell to watch people react when the tarantula pops up on your shoulder suddenly or asks for your affection, calling them weaklings or wimps like he didn’t have the same initial reaction.
Nayuta Yatonokami:
He doesn’t really mind it, probably doesn’t even notice it’s around the first few times you hang out together. He can be a little distracted but once he does see it… Well, he can’t help but question why you chose that type of pet in particular. He just nodded along with whatever you said and didn’t really seem to have an opinion on it, but he would defend you if someone was rude about it.
Shion Kaida:
Shion doesn’t tend to drag unique tendencies when it comes to people, in fact, you being an oddball might be what attracts him to you to begin with. He doesn’t mind the sight of your tarantula though he is wary about getting too close or petting it until you’ve assured him he’s considered a friend, not a foe. He thinks there’s nothing wrong with having something so treasured close to you at all times, even if others might be put off from it.

Here’s a list of all the Kdramas/Korean movies that I watched in 2023 + some of my thoughts (spoiler free)
The Glory
-Gonna be honest, I only started watching because Kim Hieora and Jung Sung Il are in this show.
-But I ended up really liking it. The bullying scenes were horrifying, the characters were memorable, and overall it was very well made.
Stranger
-HWANG SIMOK! I love him so much! BAE DOONA! I love her so much!
-I loved all the characters and all the twists
Stranger 2
-This season was good too. Seeing the dynamics and relationships between all the characters change was so interesting
Unlocked
-IM SIWAN! The reason why I watched this movie <3
-Is it the best and most unique movie? No. Was it pretty good and entertaining? Yeah!
All Of Us Are Dead
-Even in the zombie apocalypse they’re not free of bullying.
-My heart broke many times. Those poor kids didn’t deserve to go through all of that! (Except Na Yeon. I still don’t like her.)
The Glory Part 2
-Not the typical type of revenge. But I think it’s a very fitting ending.
Physical 100
-This show inspired me to start taking better care of myself.
-Watching everyone hype up this show so much then watching all the controversies come out in real time was crazy. Looking forward to season 2
Kingdom
-This show was on my radar because that zombie dude from Physical 100 said he did the choreography
-I love all of the characters and the zombies were so freaky
Kingdom 2
-The Queen might’ve been the scariest part of this show
-I love this show, season 3? Maybe?
Kingdom: Ashin of the North
-Han Ho Yeol from DP?!?!
-It was really interesting seeing another side to this story
Silent Sea
-BAE DOONA! GONG YOO!
-I don’t understand why this flopped. I really liked this show!
Siren: Survive The Island
-I was team athlete til the end! (I thought Kim Seong Yeon was hot)
-If there isn’t a season 2 I’m going to fight Netflix
Misaeng
-Im Siwan <3
-I really like this show. It really gave me hope and it honestly inspired me to work harder. I’m also trying to learn to play baduk
D.P. 2
-So many emotions. The ending left me feeling a bit empty. I’ve grown so attached to these characters and now it’s just over.
The Wailing
-I think I need to watch this a second time to really analyze it.
-I really like the sfx makeup
Monster
-Accurate representation of neurodivergent people/mentally disabled people? No.
-Interesting villain and fight scenes? Yes
Hide and Seek
-I really liked the twist and how eerie the vibes were
Memoir of a Murder
-I love unreliable narrators. Not knowing what’s real and what isn’t really puts you on the end he of your seat
-Also I didn’t even realize that was Kim Nam Gil
The Policeman’s Lineage
-I only watched this for Kwon Yul
-Decent story but I feel like it fell short of its potential
Hansel and Gretel
-Solid start but I didn’t realize that it was going in the direction that it did
-Not the ending that I expected but I’m satisfied with it
Ballerina
-Honestly, they were so over dramatic when it came to the bdsm stuff. Like okay, he’s kinky. That’s the least concerning thing about him.
-My mom got me to watch this because she likes Kim Ji Hoon
The Mimic
-Interesting concept with interesting characters
-The ending was so fitting, I’m very satisfied with it
Champion
-Another movie I watched for Kwon Yul
-I really like this movie, it’s very comforting and funny
Mother
-This is a cautionary tale, you cannot tell me otherwise!
-I was SHOCKED! It was just so sudden. I don’t know how to explain it without spoiling what happened.
Sweet Home 2
-Interesting. I’m not sure what I expected from this season but this wasn’t it.
-I found it entertaining but I’m not quite sure if I like how they’re approaching this new thing that they’re doing.

Paradox Live The Animation Episode 8 Review - Corrosion
Last episode review, I theorized that Hajun was going through phantometal corrosion after seeing what Nayuta was suffering from. I got that right! However, I don’t want to celebrate as this episode was super emotional. I gasped when Hajun fainted and legit shed some tears after everything that transpired in the latter half of the episode.
Tumblr media
Okay, first off, Hajun, why are you such a hater? First, you called TCW “past-expiration” and now you called Akan Yatsura “playing house with a bunch of strays”. Funny enough, both teams revolve around being a family despite not being blood related; Hajun is also related to the Yeon Conglomerate, but he’s not related to them by blood and got thrown aside. I can see that he has heavy abandonment issues because of that. Since he was adopted, that means he was either abandoned by his actual birth parents or they died and he was put in an orphanage before adoption. He was abandoned once. The second time he was abandoned was because of his adopted parents not wanting him anymore after his brother was born. I understand why he’d be heavily guarded ever since that incident. Being abandoned twice does take a toll in one’s psyche. Hajun doesn’t want to admit that he found a family of his own with Anne and Allen; this episode was him coming to terms with how important they are to him. It made me happy. HOWEVER, Hajun, if you ever dare be a hater towards cozmez, I will personally transmigrate into your world and break your kneecaps while cursing in Korean.
Seeing Hajun having corrosion and being cured from it made me a bit sad, honestly. Nayuta didn’t know there was a cure. Had he told someone, he could’ve been happier (and Shiki too). Though, there is a possibility that Nayuta is still alive after giving a bit of a teaser last episode. The method of going inside a person’s mind to cure their corrosion really gives off Kingdom Hearts vibes with the dive into people’s hearts stuff. I honestly like it. There’s something very magical about that method—I’m writing a story that has the main character dive into people’s memories to grant their wishes (if you want to read it, it’s available on Tapas, Royal Road, Wattpad and Webnovel—just click on the links on the pinned post on my page and you'll be directed). The only time this cure was used was when Buraikan was active ten years ago. Is that Shura guy that ramen guy wearing a disguise? Wait, is the ramen guy his default appearance or is that a disguise? I don’t know! All I know is that the ramen guy’s only voice cameo from Episode 5 was the same guy who rapped the ending song and they have the same voice actor. I think I have pretty good ears to be able to distinguish voices. Wait, what happened to the other Buraikan guy if that was the case? Is he dead? Was he unable to be cured? Does that mean Hajun is the only successful case so far?
I do wonder how Iori has so much knowledge of phantometal. I know that he’s trying to research Alter Trigger in a way by getting the “kids” to gather information about Ryu, which was what Episode 6 was about on their end. Since he’s yakuza, is he trying to destroy them? But seriously, how much does he know? Does he know about Nayuta’s case? Despite being fine as heck, he’s a man full of mysteries. Every time he shows up, there seems to be more questions than answers. Also, I can’t believe Satsuki and Reo have the gall to start a random food fight during meal time. Who does that?
Since this is a BAE episode, AKYR’s song isn’t heard much. However, thanks to the power of current modern technology AKA Youtube, I listened to Call For Familiez. I liked it a lot! Fabulous was also really good to listen to. I think I like Fabulous the best out of all the BAE songs so far. It just sounds so different from the first two BAE songs I’ve heard. I think both songs are just so different from the usual powerful songs both groups have—they’re currently my favorites from each group now!
Also, I want to discuss Hajun’s Korean at the ending. In Episode 4, he said “Gomawoyo”, which means “Thank you” in Korean, but it’s used in a more polite manner. If you’re not familiar with the Korean language, adding -yo to the end of your sentences makes them polite and formal. Since Hajun used -yo at the end of his sentence, it showed that while he was thankful to Allen and Anne, there was still some distance. In this episode, he says “Gomawo”. Notice that he doesn’t add -yo at the end of his sentence this time. This shows that the wall between Hajun and the other two have finally been broken. If you’re wondering about the difference between “gomawoyo” and “kamsahamnida”, which are both words of gratitude, “Gomawo” is more informal and used casually while “kamsahamnida” is the more polite/formal usage. Since Hajun used the former, it showed that he is comfortable around his friends to speak casually to them, but still added -yo at the end at first. Now that he broken the boundaries between him and his group, he doesn’t need to use -yo when talking to them. The writers really did their research on the language and I’m super impressed.
Next episode’s title has the words shrouded in green, meaning it’s going to focus on all four groups again and maybe have them do weird shenanigans like what they did in Episode 6. I do wonder what will happen next week. I’m excited. Once again, thank you all of the people who commented on my review of the previous episode. You’re all lovely people and I hope you meet people as wonderful as Anne and Allen. What are your thoughts on this episode?

Twenty Questions
@nutcasewithaknife thank you so much for tagging me! I had a lot of fun looking through all this
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
10
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
101,426
What fandoms do you write for?
Currently Mysterious Lotus Casebook, but whatever's on the mind honestly
What are your top 5 fics by kudos? (Edit: WHOOPS sorted by the wrong thing)
resiny and earthlike and fragrant- My beloathed incomplete fic for CQL, oh how I despise you (45.4k)
from a distance, in a crowd, i know the shape of your shoulders - the angsty beginning to my Mr. Queen series about what it means to know a replaced identity for Hong Yeon (3.0k)
all my life i’ve been waiting for a good time (let's ride)  in my Mr. Queen series; the Soyong gets her groove back fic (2.5k)
i chew chew chew cuz they hope i, choke - the raunchy end to my Mr. Queen series with Bong Hwan and Cheoljong. (6.4k)
i don't think plato had us in mind - A Do Revenge piece on Drea and Eleanor's bonkers vibes (2.4k)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Usually respond to the first ones but fall behind. I love any and all tho!! But when I do respond to a comment that accidentally sets off my brainrot I usually rant for an unhinged amount of word count. Sorry to those commenters. I love to run my mouth, see my too long answers here
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
If I go for sad I usually intentionally go for somewhat open ended; that said Hunminjeong'eum (my fic about the butterfly effect of conversation for Nam Seon Ho) is canon compliant to my country the new age and thus has an implied angsty ending. There's also the pending sad ending for my MLC series
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Definitely my Mr. Queen fix it series. My favorite of the bunch is all my life i’ve been waiting for a good time (let's ride) which is the least popular one of course. But I think that Soyong deserved her own proper happy ending away from the husband who despised her, so that's the happiest one to me.
Do you get hate on fics?
One person insisted I tag OOC which honestly cut deeper than it should have
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I wrote one pretty graphic smut piece, it is my second most popular work, and I think it is deeply unhot. Go figure
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
My only crossover is my My Country the New Age and The King: Eternal Monarch reincarnation fic from the perspective of a side character squared remembering their past life amongst political intrigue aka lately I'm a nervous wreck (i only have two real friends) (24,023 words). As I wouldn't wish The King: Eternal Monarch on my worst enemy, it's unfortunately incomprehensible to many people of taste.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I'd be flattered if it happened honestly
Have you ever had a fic translated?
No I am far too unpopular for that
What's your all-time favorite ship?
Li Shiqing and Xiao Heyun from Reset! I love that they're couple that works better together than apart and that they're both mostly practical, very ordinary, and matter-of-factly devoted to each other by the end.
What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I have a Reset 2022 fic I need to finish, but I don't think it would have any readers and it's not on the brain so who knows if I'll find the time
What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm good at a funny, modern sort of voice with quirky character details. It's one of the many reasons I love my silly crossover fic- I think it's funny.
What are your writing weaknesses?
PACING AND PLOT. my white whale is that awful CQL fic that's by far the most popular thing I've written. Also probably culture I'm in a lot of fandoms where the culture is not my own and I'm sure I bungle it
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I do include non-English words sometimes, usually following the format of the subtitles I watched since that's how I experienced the work. In terms of full sentences, probably not.
First fandom you wrote for?
Self insert E/R fic that if anyone irl found I would need to flee the country. Except u my one tumblr irl crossover friend love u
Favorite fic you've written?
lately I'm a nervous wreck (i only have two real friends) by a wide margin. It's my second least popular work. It's my favorite thing I've every written writ large: I was working through some big feelings and philosophies when writing it that helped make me a better person. It's funny (to me). It's sort of dark. It has a cheesy Olivia Rodrigo lyric for the title. It centers a platonic relationship and has a bunch of carefully transcribed details from MCTNA, a show I love. I'm pretty sure literally no one else read the last chapter since I posted it a year after the others. I reread it regularly. I still find typos.
Tagging @rosyfingered-moon and @haraxvati and anyone else who wants to do it!

Please, Let Me Return Home (Webcomic)
Created by: Hwa-yeon-jae
Genre: Isekai
Vacation time is the perfect time for reading isekai stories, so I have another one I found. This one's premise is a bit different since unlike a lot of isekais, the main character actually does want to go home, and to make things harder, she has no idea what story she isekaied into. As of writing this, there are 37 chapters out, and the translations wane from either really good to weirdly awkwardly worded. I actually found this webtoon through this youtube short here.
The story is about Estelle, a knight who died by the hands of her trusted right hand man and reincarnated into the body of an aristocrat girl named Lucifia. Upon reincarnation, she realizes that the side she used to fight on has lost and that she is wed to a man named Zedekiah Heint, an adversary. Her body is now weaker and no longer in the shape that it used to be. She tries to find some of the knights she used to fight along side (by trading places with her maid and buying a knife), but ends up fighting a serial killer that was on the loose in the capital. She's able to defend herself and the killer gets caught. She goes to a ball later with Heint, where rumors of her jumping off of the building get spread around greatly. While she's able to defend off the rumors, she recalls the event of Lucifia jumping off of the building, supposedly to claim her love for the crown prince despite him seeming to not care about her, and as a result she ends up kicking the crown prince in the dick when he tries to go down on her. She realizes that the man who killed her, Khalid is still alive and swears to seek revenge. She eventually gains a memory from her past of how her mother died and how her father almost committed suicide because of it. To prevent rumors from spreading about her attempted suicide, she meets up with a trading deal to set things straight. However, things turn to the worst when the traders attempt to kidnap her, forcing her to run into the forest where a monster resides. Here, Khalid is able to save her, and nearly dies. Estelle nearly leaves him to die, but knows that if he dies here he will be regarded as a hero, so she saves him. Luckily, Heint is able to save both of them and nurse them both back to health (much to Estelle's dismay). Lady Loer (the one Estelle thinks is the one spreading rumors) invites Estelle to a tea party, however, things turn to the worst when Khalid interrupts and talks down about Estelle on the battlefield, specifically about how she was a female knight and couldn't even defend her country. Heint ends up defending her and the teaparty ends. The last couple of chapters talks about Lady Loer and how despite how it seems, she is trying to help Estelle, as she really admired Lucifia and wants to help her.
Surprisingly, this is one of the few isekai I've seen where the MC tries to get back to real life, since most of the time the MCs just accept their fate while being stuck in this world. I actually do like the MC's design before she gets isekaied into Beatrice and I wish that her quirk of making scary faces when she's happy was integrated more into the story (it only shows up once after she's been isekaied, which is a shame because I think it would be a really funny character quirk). She also blushes A LOT for an MC, which I don't particularly understand. I do think it's kind of interesting to have her not know the story she's been isekaied into since she's read so many different romance books only to find out that it's partially from her own story of tragedy. Her character as Beatrice is okay, I guess, she doesn't particularly stand out to me much as an MC.
Ellin is a pretty cute male lead, and he has a sad backstory to boot. I actually really do like his backstory though. It's pretty cute seeing a shaggy child Ellin learn how to trust with a guard who is sort of incompetent. I think that him and Beatrice's relationship is actually pretty cute, though it's too bad it seems that the empress seems to be very possessive and possibly even yandere for Ellin, considering he tells him to throw away earrings that Beatrice got for him. I wonder what the empress's relationship with Daniel is as well, since they both seem to have a similar motivation of keeping the one they love close to their heart.
The yandere in question is Cha Yejun's doppelganger, Daniel. It's a bit hard to tell if he's a yandere since the translations are kind of rough, but from what I can tell, he kills the assassin in an attempt to get rid of both Ellin and protect Beatrice, and even ends up drugging Beatrice out of jealousy and to prevent her from testifying in court. With the way he's aware that he's in a story, it makes me wonder if Daniel is actually Cha Yejun isekaied into the story, and that maybe he had this kind of personality this entire time. We don't know that much about Cha Yejun other than he was a popular student that was close to the MC, though it does seem strange that the two would suddenly be friends since there's not really any explanation to how or why they met. This could also not be the case since we see that when the MC was isekaied, the smoke that she sees in the mirror is identical to the one that Daniel is able to make. It also wouldn't necessarily make sense that Cha Yejun would be Daniel since if the story she's in is actually something she wrote in third grade, then there's no way for him to have read or known about it unless the two knew each other back then (or he had somehow read it). It does bring up questions on how Daniel knows that Ellin is actually an extra (as it were) or if he's just really arrogant and believes that he's the center of attention. I'm not sure why exactly he's interested in Beatrice in the first place- it might have something to do with his lineage and how important the marriage is, but he does seem jealous over her when she hangs out with Ellin.
Anyways, I wish this story had a better translation since it can be a bit annoying reading through it, but I did have a fun time reading the story since it does present some concepts I don't normally see.

Let me preface this by saying AOS will always be in my top 10 kdramas of all time. It truly made me feel so many things, happiness, but mostly anxiety and stress. I don't think I've ever been more obsessed with a kdrama, which is why I need to put all my feelings down so that I can move on from this show. I am well aware that writers/directors cannot satisfy everyone and there's a lot of factors that influence the final outcome of the drama. But I just wanted to talk about the good parts and the bad parts as well as what I selfishly wanted to see. This is going to be all over the place, tbh.
First of all, my love for these characters and actors/actresses is truly unhinged. This is the first time I've seen any of them in a drama and I'll probably follow all of their careers for the rest of my kdrama life.
I think Jung Somin (JSM) and Go Younjung (GYJ) both did amazingly. They were different characters (but also the same) that did great with what they had. Not gonna lie, I was very worried about GYJ before S2 aired (this being her first lead role, her being a rookie, that she had never done romance before this, trying to follow JSM, etc. etc.) but she truly exceeded my expectations. Lee Jaewook (LJW) is my boy and it's hard to believe that he's only 24 years old. Shin Seung-ho and Yoo Insoo will always be in my heart and they're so funny and goofy (in real life especially) and I love them. Hwang Minhyun wasn't my favourite character, but the interactions of all of the actors in real life just makes my heart so warm. They're so cute!
I always have strong feelings towards writers when it comes to any type of show and I tend to feel the most hate towards them. Like do they not have moderators that go "oh, this is shit and doesn't make sense, please revise"? It always feels sad when the story that they've developed for years and the characters that we hold so dearly don't reach their potential. But as I said before these are my own selfish feelings.
Fantasy/romance genre is my absolute favourite. The further from reality the better and romance (when done well) just feeds my soul like no other. Fortunately/unfortunately fantasy has a lot of potential for world building and story telling. So where the kdrama fell flat was the plot, pacing and world building.
This drama had 30 episodes and they had multiple filler episodes that could've been used to flesh out the magical world and the dominant families and how they came to be. I loved ukiedoekie and ukyeong (my fav, tbh), but they could've given some of the other actors more screentime to better the plot.
The questions I have are: was the plan always to have Go Younjung come back? Because season 2 makes you question whether they even wanted her there. What happened with Jung Somin? Why did she not even have cameos in season 2, when clearly she should have? If it was just scheduling issues, then I kind get it, but she made that insignificant cameo when they could've made her do young Jin Buyeon's role, because it doesn't make sense that the 10 year old was there. Was the budget less for S2 than S1? Could they not afford JSM for S2 so they had to rewrite stuff? I just feel like the show really lacked cohesion in S2 and it shows and I'm trying to come up with excuses as to why. I loved Naksu/JBY/CY and how GYJ portrayed her, but the storyline and how they went about her character makes me question everything.
I do not like how they under utilized the female characters in this show. Jin Cho Yeon was just there. It's crazy to me that she was part of the oh so great "four seasons", for what?
Jang Uk (JU) and Mudoek were portrayed very well by the respective actors, I think they were great. But I wonder whether in interviews and press stuff whether it was a PR thing to not have them interact or make you feel anything when they're together (because they knew that LJW would be endgame with GYJ) so that the fans wouldn't get even more attached to them. Or did they not really "like" each other that much outside of their work or maybe their age gap was too significant? I put "like" in quotations because from the BTS videos they were always professional and pleasant with each other. I was sad when NO ONE from the AOS cast showed up to JSMs movie premier and no one really posted about her when the show wrapped for S2, except Yoo Insoo, that sweetheart.
LJW and GYJ are a whole other story. Their chemistry was extremely apparent on screen and in real life. I think they're the cutest and you can clearly see how much they care for each other and respect each other. If they were trying to distract the viewers from the plot with kissing scenes and on screen chemistry then it kinda worked, but I see you.
Naksu, Naksu, Naksu. That opening fight scene was the biggest clickbait I've ever seen in my entire life. I loooooove physically strong female leads that can fight with the boys and hold their own physically. Please see that I'm saying physically, because obviously emotionally or mentally strong is inferred. So to say I was sad that we never truly got to see that again is an understatement. In S2 I get why they ended it how they ended it, but if Naksu/Cho Yeong (CY) was never going to use her mage powers they could've fleshed out the priestess powers to make the ending more satisfying. (See earlier note about budget or them making JU look the strongest at the expense of the female character.)
I would've like to see JU and CY seeing each other when they found out that they could be together forever. Even if it was just them looking at each other from a far. (I just know that their micrexpressions would've slapped) I wish we got more interactions with all of the actors together. I wish that the final scene was them hunting a relic in Daeho and all the village people in awe of the power couple and seeing the faces of their friends and family knowing that they're home. That would've been cute. If they made half of season 2 about them hunting relics, I would've been so happy. I hate that they never cleared Naksu's name. Does the main cast know that she's Naksu or are they still lying to people? That's something that should've been cleared up. I also feel sad about Danggu and Mudoek's relationship that never got closure, because they were besties in S1. I would've also like to see more of Cho Yeon and Naksu's relationship, it was eluded to in one of the episodes that Cho Yeon is aware that Jin Buyeon is Naksu and she still treated her like her sister, which I found very endearing. So I would've like to see them being chosen sisters instead of just blood sisters. I quite like how they never bother to mention to JU that GYJs face is Naksu's original face, like they don't compare the two and JU immediately accepts it because he loves her soul. Cute.
I feel like they didn't let Naksu/CY deal with her trauma. That chick has been through a lot a lot. Like a lot. And they were just like "vibes, she continues". Why, when they gave JU time to heal from his trauma? Yes, in the end it was her choice to give up her sword and not train, but why couldn't they show us her healing process and how she decided that?
This brings me to the pacing of the show. S1 also had shit pacing, let's be honest, but S2 was worse because they could've had so much plot filled episodes and they still decided to give filler episodes. Season 1 kept on opening so many doors that they never closed and that continued on to S2. They dragged that amnesia plot and then the last 2 episodes were rushed. They very much showed the conflicting sides of JU in S2. They showed his reluctance to feel anything towards JBY and him pushing her away (I found him to be really mean at some points) and then his inability to see her suffer and caring for her from a distance. But to drag this out was also unnecessary, he was still mean to her up until ep 7.
That doctor chick was so fucking annoying. She literally had no point in S2 (or S1 really) except to be exceptionally annoying (please see earlier note about how female characters were underutilized and sidelined).
Anyways, regardless of budget and politics the storyline of AOS could've been much better, but I will always be grateful to the Hong sisters for giving me these characters and showing me these actors/actresses.
May 2023 bring in all the good kdramas and HEAs, because 2022 was a bit much. (A part of me hopes that GYJs new action kdrama "moving" is fucking amazing just so that the Hong sisters regret never giving her another action scene.)

Queen of Tears (2024)
Tumblr media
On the surface this seems like just an ordinary romantic drama with an interesting premise. It turned out to be a master class in acting, editing, cinematography and (even) writing. I loved these characters and was genuinely sad to see it end.
What Worked
The two leads were amazing. Kim Soo-Hyun put in his best performance so far, and Kim Ji-Won did an excellent job making you like a character that was written to be cold and unlikeable. I'd say it was her best role, but you know My Liberation Notes was still better.
The rest of the cast was great too. Park Sung-hoon was great at playing the villain and making him both sympathetic and contemptible. Kwak Dong-yeon did an excellent job at turning the biggest idiot kid brother into someone you were cheering for at the end.
This drama, more than most, also did a standout job of using editing and film work to help set the mood for the story.
What Didn't Work
This show is as close to flawless as you can get. There are things that I wish they'd done differently, but those are more about taste than quality, because the show was excellent.
The Performances
The cast was excellent across the board. I've already mentioned the two leads. I could probably go through and say something nice about each actor, but that would be way too long. There were a few actors that were new to me that especially liked watching.
Yoon Bo-mi as "Secretary Bestie" Na Chae-yeo. This actor did an excellent job of grounding the scene and making Kim Ji-won's character more human and likable. She was also very funny on her own.
Lee Mi-sook as "Worst Mother Ever" Moh Seul-hee. The show didn't do much to explain the whys of her character, but Lee Mi-sook was so interesting to watch, that I mostly didn't care. Really good performance overall.
Kim Jung-nan as "Fighter Auntie" Hong Beom-ja. I had a hard time taking this character seriously at first, but the actor did a great job of showing you how much Beom-ja cared about her family, which made me start to care about the character. Alot of fun to watch (even if they should have given her a proper loveline at the end).
Jeon Bae-soo and Hwang Young-hee as "World's Best Parents (2024)." It would be hard to make Hyun-woo's parents unlikeable, since they get to be the moral center of the show in some ways, but it was also important to make them interesting in a cast of over the top characters. The actors did a good job with that, and I really enjoyed watching them play off the rest of the cast.
TL; DR:
If you like K-dramas you've probably already seen this. That being said, I like K-dramas and I still haven't watched this writer's other big hit Crash Landing on You, so it YMMV. Bottom line: it's your precious little life, choose wisely.
