It’s so bizarre for us queer leftists and radicals to have to pretend to be liberals in the face of a nakedly discriminatory executive order.

Like Donald Trump, I too don’t want any trans people in the US military. Because I don’t want anyone to be in the military. Because I want to dissolve the military-industrial complex (as well as the state) entirely.

But inasmuch as we “must” have a military, and as that military provides for the medical care of its troops, then barring trans soldiers from that is utterly repugnant. Frankly, in the shot-to-all-fuck US healthcare system, serving in the armed forces may be one of the better ways for underprivileged trans people to access medical care (and also education). The US military-industrial complex knows this and uses it as leverage to recruit underprivileged people into its corpus.

And this issue doubly affects queer people (and especially trans people) as we are more likely to be cut off from financial support from our parents at a young age and have our job prospects limited by workplace discrimination.

And yeah, all medical needs (and education and basic life needs for that matter) should be provided by a society, which capitalism can refuses to do. And we can work together as a human race to nonviolently end world conflict (primarily by providing basic necessities to all people, just sayin’). But we have to work with the system set before us, and that system we have a military that can provide hormone therapy and genitoplasty for its trans soldiers but not only refuses to, but refuses to allow them to even serve in the first place.

That should be self-evidently disgusting and vile.

So yeah, I guess I’m a liberal capitalist pig for the duration.

I think that magic deserves significantly more credit in popular media than it currently gets, and I don’t mean franchises encorporating magic deserve any more recognition than they already get, no no no, I mean popular media doesn’t really do magic the justice it deserves. It’s not a skill that can be formally taught at a private school, or a thing that your born with, it’s a way of looking at the world. The way that magic is and has been practiced around the world is exactly the opposite of a formal subject because the point is you don’t know how it works.

I feel that’s something that’s often just completely overlooked by any media taht has magic in it, the point of something being magic is that it’s super-natural, para-normal, it’s beyond human comprehension, but you can learn to exploit it. It defies structured definition, defies the orders of the day, and you must in turn reject those things if you seek to harness its flows. 

I think that’s one of the reasons that queer and other non-conforming individuals often gravitate towards witchcraft or the concept of magic itself, because classically its something outside of the norm, literally extra-ordinary, and instead of it being shunned or rejected, it’s celebrated for it’s extra-ordinary-ness.

In some ways, those rejected by the status quo embody, in a very personal way, the concept of this sort of magic, and it can be seen with the sheer quantity of genderqueer people who just unironically wanna be mothman, because they hold within themselves the capacity to oppose the structures that exclude them, they hold their own personal spark of magic within them.

It’s also why I think it’s such a useful tool, or at least concept, for opposing the forces of the status quo, it’s a rejection of any sort of meta-narrative, a rejection of institutionalised order or structure, a celebration and acceptance of oneself as beyond the laws of man, bound only by the laws of self. And the more we practice our own personal magics, the more we realise that we never needed the structures they subvert in the first place

Some ways of explaining the necessity of identity based struggles for the liberation of the working class:

1. We need a united working class in order to have the revolution. If we piss off women/poc/disabled people by being dicks to them, we divide the working class. Men can be expected to organize with women, women cannot be expected to stick around if they're inundated with misogyny.

2. To put in another way, class is the central pillar, balanced in the center, supported by all other forms of oppression on all sides. The pressure of those oppressions keeps the central pillar in place and the pressure of their weight makes it impossible to pull it out, however if we knock out the supports, we can easily topple the central pillar.

3. To put it into a cute metaphor with mice and cake: Let’s say there are three groups of mice, one has a 7/8ths of a cake, one has 1/8th of a cake, and one has no cake.

The mice with no cake are like “Hey it’s pretty shitty we don’t get any cake”

And the mice with 7/8ths of the cake tell the mice with 1/8th of the cake “Well I mean you could divide it with them, but then you’d only get 1/16th of the cake then” and the mice with 1/8th are like “HELL NO” and attacks the mice with no cake.

And then sometimes one of the mice with 1/8th of the cake go to the mice without cake and go “you know if we joined together we could get those guys’ whole cake”

And the mice with no cake are like “…you won’t share your cake with us and you attacked us for asking for any cake at all so we don’t really trust you… maybe if you were less shitty to us?”

And then the 1/8th cake mouse accuses them of dividing the working class.

Also sometimes one of the 7/8ths cake mice is like “We should both give them 1/16th of the cake, I know it’s a huge sacrifice, but it’s the right thing to do” but it’s really just doing that to keep the 1/8th mice focused on making sure the mice with no cake don’t get any of their slice so that they don’t gang up with the mice with no cake and take the whole cake and divide it in half.

My classpect changes every other week, practically, sooo... What could be somebody who tells truth as policy, has no secrets of his own but everyone reveals theirs to him [because he's trusted and helps people resolve their issues or can just be good shoulder and ear,] has trouble with self-care and is too selfless, is an anarchist, grew up too fast but has endless empathy, wild imagination but painfully a realist, mediator, too good at acceptance of death, everyone's friend, and overanalyzes?

Alright, got a classpect help request. I'll remind you before I start the answering proper that I'm still in the midst of figuring out specifics of certian classes (Page,Maid,Sylph) so while I'll take those into consideration as well I can't garunetee accuracy where those are involved. That said, I'm willing to give this a shot, so here we go.

I hope this is a good idea, but I'm going to take a semi-scientific approach to this. By that I mean I'm going to take each of the traits you listed and mark a spot on a comparasion chart to try to get a general reading of where your classpect can/should land based on the info you've given me. Everyone is a mix of different classpect traits and a person's classpect is just the one that fits their core beliefs and actions the strogest. I'll include commentary with each mark as well so you can understand my reasoning and compare my notes of the traits to your own feelings of your own traits.

Secrets = Void and Rogues tend to not have much of their own aspect but take (in this case from those willingly giving) that aspect from others.

>[Because he's trusted and helps people resolve their issues or can just be good shoulder and ear]This feels like a seperate enough piece of info to make another mark for "Rogue of Void", and this time it's because you're using the Secrets learned from others to help them. Rogues are those who take in order to give, so in taking their secrets you know what they need to be given.

>Has Trouble with self-care and is too selflessTrying not to lump too many parts of this together makes this harder, as these two are traits that honestly could fit a TON of classpects. I'll put some "half" marks for these since I'll state multiple most-likely's for this trait's classpect. "Knight of Heart", "Rogue of Life", and "Muse of Hope". Though I would say "Lack of Self-care and Too Selfless" combo could fit ANY Knight, Rogue, Muse, or Life player.

>An anarchistI feel this matches a "Prince of Mind" best. Anarchsim feels distinctly destruction class, and Mind is the aspect that most directly relates to Lawfullness. It's a super snug fit, the only thing is that honestly anarchism could fit either the active or passive classes depending how you go about it. I put down Prince/Active since it kind of sounds like an active style of thought but hey you might approach it different so keep that in mind for your own active/passive alignment.

>Grew up too fast but has endless empathy"Maid of Life" for this one. Empathy could match both Heart and Life but growing up fast leans more heavy towards Life, and as far as I've got a read on maids (Sorry that I haven't finished my research on the class) I would say they tend to have heavy trouble with their Aspect earlier on but as they mature they accept it and make the best of it.

>Wild imagination but painfully a realistThis one was hard but I think "Knight of Hope" is the best mark for this. Several aspects lean against imagination, Space and Hope probably being highest two. Having big amounts of your aspect but having traits that go against it is a very Knight style Aspect interaction.

>Mediator"Autispice". Ok but seroiusly, "Knight of Blood". Resolving differences between people, preventing bonds from being ripped apart, those are total Knight of Blood moves.

>Too good at acceptance of death"Mage of Doom". This could fit quite a few Doom classes, heck even Time since that relates to death in certain ways as well. I feel a Mage would be the kind of person to overly accept their own aspect, as they embrace experiencing their aspect.

>Everyone's friend"Knight of Blood". I mean, a lot of the BLood classes could fit this trait but Knights would probably top this list.

>Overanalyzes "Mage of Mind". This is one of those traits that by itself could fit way too many classpects. The thing that you overanalyze will probably determine the classpect a lot better. Friendships? Blood Classes. Romantic Relationships? Heart. Anime? Probably Hope. If it's like... everything though, which I'm assuming since it was left as a single word statement, then I would say it fits the more general arena of "Thinking a Ton" and so Mage of Mind it is, going over details in your mind much more than you know you should but doing it anyway.

======>Time to analyze the chart*Rubs hands together* Ok now it's time for the big part, actually putting this information together.KNIGHT OF LIFETo the best of my understanding of the facts and results, I would call you a Knight of Life. Most of your listed traits and actions point towards service based goals, even if you aren't acting as a knight in the moment you'll turn it into helping others. Your service hits strongly both towards Blood and Life aspects, but with all the traits and positions of classpect leanings I'd say you act towards other aspects, Blood/relationships included, in order to better help others with "Life" and all the aspect entails with healing and getting the best out of expeirences. A Knight also knows the limits of their aspects, such as death being the typical end of your own aspect. You're a Knight of Life that leans towards both Blood and Void aspects. You seem to lean towards both Mage and Rogue actions as well. I'll leave it to you to decide how accurate this is, as you might view yourself and your traits differently than I do. Plus you certainly know yourself better than I do.

was chatting with a professor about socialism and marxism and some light anarchsim and all that and then we somehow got on the subject of my relationship and she was like “so this ex of yours that works at nike, did you not rub off on him at all?” and that just about sums it all up... because no matter how much i love him his values and what we are both about are in separate directions... and being around people who have similar minds as me has made that even clearer than ever ... i can love my friends and my partners as much as possible but i’m working towards a new world order that needs to completely eradicate the one in place - and for some ppl specifically, the world order they work each and every day to perpetuate, most of the time knowingly. and yes to be comfortable and happy is all of our goals but the world is ending before our eyes and i’m going to prioritize liberation of the oppressed before i even think about the need for accumulating my own wealth... anyway this got off track but being around people who aren’t on the kindergarten level of what i’m all about or lower has been.... amazing. and that conversation just opened my eyes up so much. and to think this whole conference is centered around a “leisure” activity ..
