You should LISTEN when people tell you that yes. The phrase's FUCKING ORIGIN was a call for the eradication of Jews from the area known as Israel and Palestine. That NO, you cannot divorce it from those roots. YES, it IS still used to mean that TO THIS DAMN DAY.

And look. Maybe you DON'T think that Israelis should all be killed and/or exiled from Israel and Palestine. Maybe you DON'T think that the genocide of an entire people is the solution. Maybe you DON'T hate Jews and want all of us dead. And if that's the case? Great!

I am not saying the vaccinator is not absolutely broken, I 100% feel dirty using it against a badly coordinated team, hence I wouldn't mind if it received a nerf in the future.

A lot of people analyse the vaccinator as only useful against a badly coordinated enemy team, but I think it's much better as a weapon for when your own team sucks ass has bad synergy, since any form of uber is pretty much wasted on everyone (if you can even build enough charge). To compensate for everyone's mistakes, just make sure they stay alive long enough to capture points and push the cart. Everyone will automatically stay with you, and soon you'll have a nice meat shield of 4 people swarming around you. You know it's working, when there's suddenly 3 demoknights and a spy after you.

I love micromanaging my resistance bubbles, and I love micromanaging my team without them noticing that I'm doing it. Pressing the R-button to rotate through resistances feels like such a much more engaging contribution to the battles your patients are fighting.

Vaccinator is busted, but absolutely not boring.

The party is at Steve's house for Christmas. There's presents under the ridiculously large Christmas tree for everyone and Hopper is wearing a Santa hat and is handing the presents out to people one by one.

He reaches towards the back of the tree for the last present and says, "To Stevie, From E." Hopper hands it to a very confused Steve because he's already gotten his present from El; it was a beautiful scarf that she'd knitted with Joyce's help.

"Is this another one from you, El?" She shakes her head, just as confused as Steve. He opens the present carefully, the fact it was addressed 'To Stevie' made something inside him twist painfully because only one person called him Stevie.

And he was dead.

He tears the last of the paper away and gently pulls out the present, everyone's eyes are on him. It's a brand new yellow sweater, almost identical to the one he lost, the one he'd thrown at Eddie before he jumped into the lake. He exhales shakily and runs his hands over the soft material, it's still got the store tag on and as he unfolds it completely, a card drops out.

"Guys, stop playing around, who's this from?" They all shake their heads, a few shrug, Dustin looks like he's going to be sick as he stares at the very un-christmas like bat covered card. "It can't be from... " He cant say his name, hasn't been able to since it happened, it gets stuck in his throat and chokes him. "It's been months."

"That present was under the tree when we all got here." Robin says quietly, she's staring at the spot on the floor where it had sat, it had been right underneath his lounge room window. Steve felt like he was going to pass out. This can't be from Eddie. He'd pressed his ear to his chest and heard nothing, he'd shaken him and begged him to wake up while his lifeless eyes stared up at nothing. This doesn't make sense.

With shaking hands, Steve opens the card and tries not to cry as he reads it aloud. "Hey, Stevie - fuck." He tips his head back and blinks away the tears threatening to fall onto the card.

"I know you probably have a few questions but I can't answer them just yet. He's watching me, Steve. He knows everything I know. I'm sorry to drop this on you on Christmas but you have to know that he's back."

It really is strange how Edelstans simultaneously dig hard into people that don't agree with their specific interpretation of 3H to the point of being happy they manage to drive those people away... and be so upset and baffled that people become generally disinterested/actively hostile towards 3H content.

If folks get repeatedly driven out of a fandom, and that group of people repeatedly calls anyone who disagrees with their specific interpretation of 3H stupid/illiterate/"acting in bad faith"/sexist/racist/homophobic/etc., and it is repeatedly done by a group of people who insist that 3H's fandom problem is a "both sides" thing, with all of this being dragged into spaces that have nothing to do with 3H, well... obviously people are then going to start to dislike interacting with either 3H in general or its fandom in particular?

Edelstans are the ones spreading the idea that 3H's fandom in totality is shit. They keep trying to make their hands look cleaner than they are by claiming that everyone else's hands are just dirty as/even dirtier than theirs. Of course people who are unaware of everything are going to then assume that everyone's hands are dirty, thus making people not exactly want to shake hands with anyone.

Like, really now. What did they think was going to happen when they directly go after fanartists/fanfic writers who create/say things that go against the Approved Edelstan Status Quo, to the point that a non-zero amount of these creators just up and leave social media entirely? Or after they nitpick every single Disapproved Post and then lie about the post's OP? Or after it becomes a consistent pattern that people who even remotely disagree with Edelstans' opinions are always, without fail, buried with insulting and harassing anons? Or after they're shown time and time again to defend their worst actors with "well their/our victims deserved it because they said a 3H opinion we didn't agree with"? Or when they say that everyone does this shit in 3H's fandom except for them (which is either not believed because it's demonstrably untrue or is actually believed and now those people think the overwhelming majority of 3H's fandom is filled with shit)? Or when they drag 3H discourse into literally actually everything no matter how unrelated?

That with less fandom creators within the fandom space they'd get more content? That harassing and insulting people and accusing them of being this-and-that bigot is going to magically "correct" their minds into seeing The One Truth about 3H? That people are going to just look over all the shit they did just because they allocate the blame of their action on all of 3H's fandom? That people would like 3H more if they constantly remind people of the inarguable worst thing to come from 3H? That this would help 3H's general perception?

Tbhk has a really bad pacing problem, among a few other things

Ever since the Picture Perfect arc it’s just been… unbearably slow.. the pacing in the recent chapters compared to the beginning is so strange. Tbhk has always been pretty slow paced compared to other mangas, so much so it really warped my perception with other mangas. And the pacing doesn’t really add to much, it’s not like the lore of tbhk is anywhere near being somewhat understandable. And it has its pros! The art is beautiful, and character banter is fun. But so much of the time is spent explaining yet somehow also…not? New things are introduced, partially explained, and then either forgotten or become a major feature of the story.

Boundaries being a pretty big example. they ARE explained..barely. The rules and purpose of them isn’t exactly clear? Are specified boundaries just for the mysteries? It doesn’t seem so since they show a specific boundary in the spin-off (which canonicity is highly debatable, but it’s never been denounced from canon, so i literally don’t know), along with mentioning a boundary in Brazil (which brings a lot of other things into question about wherethe hell the boundaries even are). So is it just boundaries with a yorishiro that are specific to the mysteries?

With Yako, Tsuchigomori, and Shijima, their yorishiros are in the farthest reaches of the boundary. and the same can partially be said for The Hell of Mirrors (I’m not sure). And the rule seems to partially follow for Hakubo, but Sumire is also shown leaving the boundary with no issue so idk. But the Clock-Keeper’s is just?? Inside Kako?? That’s not the farthest reaches?? Same with Hanako, unless Tsukasa originally resided inside of Hanako’s boundary before he was removed (presumably for Sakura). So does the rule just not include them? Or is it not a rule and instead just a common trend or whatever.

I also literally do not get Mitsuba as The Hell of Mirrors, aren’t boundaries supposed to be unique to the spirit in charge?? Or did Tsukasa specifically make Mitsuba with having him be The Hell of Mirrors in mind?

Back to pacing though. The recent chapters have been unnecessarily slow, like so slow that barely anything is happening. And I’m losing hope for some big interesting action cause it’s just been…bad. The fandom has been so dead and it’s obvious the pacing currently is why. Literally nothing is happening, nothing even brainrot worthy. Like the pacing for the previous arcs was slow but this is another level of drawn out.

Personal anecdote rq but I was so used to tbhk’s slow pace that reading literally any other manga feels like whiplash, reading chainsaw man was so difficult because I was expecting it to be slow and i ended up never understanding what was going on at all. Or maybe I’m just illiterate uhm

i’d just like to remind everyone that the original bee and puppycat series on youtube is STILL canon like. everything happened in that still counts. (also i sound very pissy in this, especially the tags, but please know that it’s meant to be a lighthearted reminder)

lazy in space canonically picks up after the youtube series. think of the first couple of netflix episodes as a summary for people who have literally never heard of the show before. yes, it has its faults (i’ve seen people calling it “too boring”, weird pacing, etc etc whatever) but think of it as a weird recap. it’s there for the sake of getting us comfortable to the new style and adding more exposition/character background. again, it has its faults with that but i’m not here to discuss that. the point is that the first couple netflix episodes are basically for people who have literally never heard of bee and puppycat before and maybe saw an ad or two, or opened netflix and saw this new charming show or whatever, and are seeing it for the first time. it’s not expected of them to immediately google the title and watch the original. yes, we lost some iconic lines and scenes in the recap, but those are still canon, they’re still up and we can watch them; and again it was for the sake of the recap and added exposition. like it’s because of the remade episodes that we know more about bee’s dad. that we know more about bee’s past and puppycat’s connection to that. we’ve gotten more hints and background details that add to the story, characters, and the future of the show (the three separate music boxes, the symbols on the screens of puppycat’s ship, how deckard and cass see bee [“weird old lady girl”], literally more info on cardamon besides “he’s a child landlord and is sad and stressed”, etc etc etc)

like i can get the parts that are frustrating to long time fans, i literally have the original memorized so uh. i get it, but still. it’s more than just “we retconned things LOL!” because i don’t really think it was retconning. original plots were a little simplified but they added more to what we already knew. whatever, i’m off topic. the point is: yes, it’s sad that netflix doesn’t have those iconic lines but those are still canon. the original is still canon. lazy in space canonically takes place after the original series. take that as you will.
