you know what i love about the way reneé portrays regina george?
this moment is so so effective in how she characterises both the dynamic between regina and gretchen but also how realistically this moment plays out.
compared to the stage show, i feel like her tone, demeanour and delivery is scarily accurate to common teenage bullying and manipulation.
of course, the stage show is far more comedic and outbursts are a consistent way to easily get a reaction from the audience, and it's a rather fleeting moment in that version.
but i think that the demeaning, humiliating nature of how she's characterised in the new movie is far more effective. i would be so genuinely hurt if she talked down to me like that.
anyway! i think that the evolution of reneé's portrayal of regina and her different approaches for the screen and stage is just phenomenal and she's such an amazing actor omg spare me
COMMISSION FOR @gussygoou ^_^ i never watched to the chimera ant arc.. but from what shes shown me tbh this ship is soooo fucking fire omigawd.... MORE CHEESE!!!!
What kind of relationship does Lasagna have with the other bandmembers? Are they close?
Since they’re her dad’s bandmates, they are familiar with her! I’ll sum up her relationship with them;
She’s the annoying little sister Toki never asked for lol. They play video games & leap frog together and roast eachother
Nathan is just Nathan. He’s not SUPER interactive with her, but y’know, she’s his best friend’s daughter so he’s something of an uncle to her. she’ll go bug him and he’ll tell her to piss off *affectionately*
She and Murderface surprisingly get along! She’s interested in playing bass, and Murderface liked feeling better than someone at something, so he’d give her pointers (some bad, some good haha)
aaaannndd she and skwisgaar don’t interact much. It’s not like he’s mean to her, he’s just indifferent towards her.
Lasagna thinks his hair is pretty and likes his guitar-playing! She’ll see him do his little guitar finger warmups and be impressed bc she wants to be that skilled one day.
Fun fact about Meet The Plastics (the non-cut version): Karen and Regina each say their own names exactly twice in their verses, once near the beginning and once near the end, it's a fun bit of symmetry. Gretchen breaks this pattern by never, even once saying her own name. However, she does say Regina's name six times. She's the only one who says anyone else's name in her verse.
Karen likes to go slow. She likes to take her time. Especially with Gretchen, who is the prettiest girl she's ever seen, and whom Karen really wants to make happy.
So she starts by gently taking Gretchen's face in her hands, palms against Gretchen's cheeks and fingertips brushing her soft hairline. Gretchen's eyes grow wider as Karen gets closer, and she lets out a surprised gasp as Karen presses their lips together, even though she definitely saw Karen coming.
Gretchen's lips, as they always are, are soft and warm and a bit sticky with lip gloss. Today, it tastes like strawberries. Karen's favorite.
Karen tilts her head a bit as she feels Gretchen's hands settle on her waist, pinkies brushing the exposed skin between the hem of Karen's shirt and the waistband of her skirt. Their lips slide together, Gretchen's bottom lip between Karen's own, and Karen wonders if Gretchen feels like she has a million little butterflies in her stomach, too.
Karen's hands slide into Gretchen's hair, silky between her fingers, as she gently runs her tongue along Gretchen's lips, taking the last of the lip gloss with it. Gretchen responds immediately, opening her mouth, inviting Karen in.
Gretchen's mouth is warm and tastes a bit salty, like the popcorn they had been eating while they watched a movie. Their tongues meet, stroking, tasting, retreating, tangling. Karen presses closer, arching her back a bit and angling her head down so she can drag her tongue over the roof of Gretchen's mouth.
Gretchen's fingers tighten around Karen's waist as she exhales through her nose, tickling Karen's face a little. It makes Karen smile a little reflexively, which makes Gretchen smile, until they're giggling into each other's mouths, and Karen doesn't think she could love a person more.
Karen peppers kisses along Gretchen's jawline, licking and nipping at the salty skin, before pressing a kiss to each cheek, the tip of Gretchen's nose, and the center of her forehead—for balance.
For a few moments, they just breathe each other's air, foreheads pressed together, enjoying the closeness. Then Gretchen kisses her again, more chaste this time, but achingly sweet and tender in a way that makes Karen's toes curl in her socks.
When their kissing peters out into just pecks, Karen pulls back and carefully wipes her lipstick away from Gretchen's lips with her thumb. Once satisfied, she shuffles off of Gretchen's lap to cuddle up to her side with a soft sigh, legs slung over Gretchen's and her head resting on her shoulder.
Absently, as they restart the movie, Karen thinks that she would be perfectly happy to do this every day for the rest of her life.
