One time for character design practice I decided to draw Captain Drinian and also give him a sister except I’m not much of a writer so I don’t even have a name for her, all I know about her is that she’s an asexual lesbian, and like super strong or something.
Also I just want to believe that Lucy wasn’t the only woman on that ship the entire time.

what are ur thoughts on edmund pevensie
aah I'm so glad someone asked!! thank uuu <3
My thoughts on Edmund Pevensie? Mr. redemption arc boy? My sassy bean? Sulky little shit boy? Oh my god where do I start.
(putting under the cut because this gets unnecessarily long and my mutuals are tired of me)
Edmund Pevensie is a horrible little gremlin who turns into a delightful little gremlin over the course of one book/movie and ends up being one of the best characters in the series. I don't know whether to rant about book!Edmund or Movie!Edmund, but I supposed I could do both?
So pre-redemption, Edmund is a generally awful person. I really like that. Whenever we get a redemption arc in modern media, it's usually 70% defending why Character A is actually a sad emo child who was neglected and actually you know what? It's everyone else's fault that this person does shitty things (i.e. k*lo ren, vanya hargreeves, mcu wanda, etc).
Edmund is a truly hateful person and canon DOES NOT APOLOGIZE OR VALIDATE IT. Even in the movies (where they make him more sympathetic by drawing attention to the fact that Edmund is a child being manipulated by an abuser) they recognize the fact that he was a nasty person before the White Witch ever came into play.
I LOVE that. I love a redemption arc. And the only way a redemption arc really, truly works is when the character being redeemed is a Bad Person. It makes it so, so much more satisfying when the character finally comes to their senses and Does The Thing that starts/completes their arc.
AND EDMUND'S IS TOP TIER. In the books, it's a bit less explicit, but by the time he finally reaches Aslan's camp and talks to Aslan, he's pretty much made a full 180. He is immediately forgiven by his siblings and the Narnians and when the White Witch turns up, he is unafraid. He has full confidence that Aslan knows what he's doing. In the Battle of Beruna, he's the only person smart enough to realize that going after the White Witch's wand is the best tactical move. There is no clear "heroes redeemed journey" (as i'm calling it). Edmund realizes that he was wrong, accepts Aslan, and helps defeat the White Witch.
The movie makes Edmund work a bit more. He's forgiven by his sisters', but not quite by his brother. It's vague whether or not the rest of Narnia has forgiven him. When the White Witch arrives, he shows visible fear. It's only after he breaks the White Witch's wand and dies/nearly dies doing so, that he's allowed to be fully redeemed and forgiven by his brother.
I have conflicting feelings about how both of these narratives are different and the indicators thereof of said differences, but that's a whole other meta post I don't have room for. What I can definitely say I do love about Movie!Edmund's redemption arc is how they conclude it. In the book, you don't actually see the moment where Edmund breaks the White Witch's wand and it's more inferred than directly stated that she's the one who wounded him. He also doesn't come as close to actual death in the books.
In the movie everything is absolutely fucking perfect. They start out the battle with Edmund looking unsure of anything except Peter and they end it with Edmund dying (?) in front of him. The moment where Edmund decides to defy Peter one last time and break the wand? 14 year old me was losing her SHIT. They literally could not have concluded his arc better. 10/10 Disney.
Prince Caspian--books and films--gives us a clearer picture of who Edmund is after his redemption arc. He's still kind of snarky, but 100% a ride or die for his siblings. He believes Lucy when she says she sees Aslan, supports Peter and Caspian in their quest to get Caspian on the throne, and is the most level-headed character in the book. He is also incredibly sulky in the books and 1000% done with Trumpkin's shit. It's delightful. They translate this in movieverse for him being 1000% done with Peter's shit which is even better. He does not really have an arc or plotline, but as a supportive character he's a 10/10.
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has my favorite Edmund. This is an Edmund without his older siblings. This is an Edmund who gets to bond with Lucy, Caspian, and Eustace and have wacky sea adventures. The Lucy/Edmund dynamic is STRONG and I am living for it. Both of them banding together to hate Eustace for half the book? 11/10. Both of them banding together to love Eustace for the other half of the book? 14/10.
Also, this is the book where we find out Edmund reads detective novels. Which is adorable and so in character for him.
Oh my god let's talk about Eustace and Edmund. After Eustace tells Edmund about what happened with him and Aslan and apologizes for being a dick? Edmund is immediately there to reassure him that all is forgiven, and actually? Edmund was a worse person his first visit to Narnia. (Pls get some self esteem Edmund.) Let's talk about Eustace and Edmund being protective over Lucy (who doesn't really appreciate it, but it's adorable just the same).
Movie!Edmund in this story is also a snarky delight, but the main thing that jumps out to me is HE AND CASPIAN ARE SO GAY FOR EACH OTHER HOLY SHIT. LIKE THEY TRIED TO PUSH LUCY/CASPIAN FOR A HOT SECOND AND THEN GAVE UP BECAUSE CASSMUND IS LIVING THEIR BEST GAY PIRATE LIFE.
Oh we should probably talk about Edmund in the Horse and His Boy. Yeah, this one is a real delight because we actually get to see grown up Edmund. There are so really awesome moments here, especially with him and Susan. My favorite is where he basically tells her, "yeah if you married that dick prince I would have totally hated you for it. thanks for making a good choice on that." Lmao. It's really interesting to see him more measured and mature in this book.
So anyway, to cut this rambling reply short. Edmund Pevensie has been my favorite character since I was 11 and first read the Narnia books and he continues to be in each adaption of the series. Can't wait for the Netflix adaption.
(ask me about book vs. movie meta, cassmund analysis, the problem of susan, or anything else narnia related for more ramblings <3)

Fighters To Lovers (2)
~Aaron Pevensie, the sibling who stayed in Narnia, the one who’d rather fight in a war and die with honor then sit in school and learn about a war without fighting in one, infected with a curse, causing her to live forever, becoming the burden to herself and never loving again

“Well what are you gonna do about it, you stayed to keep Narnia safe right!” One of the centaurs shouted stepping up tall and facing me as we stood around each other, in another one of the meetings that ended in hate.
“I stayed in protect Narnia yes, not to rule Narnia, whatever happened with Telmarine, i’ll deal with it when it happens, as for the Scavengers I don’t think they’ll be coming back,” I huffed standing up. “Is there anything else you’d like to discuss well we’re out here having a war between each other?” I asked the room looking around, everyone stayed silent. “I’ll see you all around the castle then,”
I walked out clenching my fists and feeling the anger that coursed through my body, Peter and Susan were the ones to deal with it, I was the middle child, the rebul, the one who didn’t have to listen to the rules.
“I choose to stay in Narnia, it’s my call to make the rules,” I huffed turning around and facing my most loyal knight, McAlester Klan. “You tell me this after ever meeting, and I wouldn’t go back to my world in a heartbeat, i’d rather be here, then sitting at a desk learning about a war,” I huffed staring to undo my hair.
“I know princess,” McAlester huffed walking over towards me. “You really should get that checked out,” I looked down at the blood stain on my dress.
“Just a minor wound,” I lied knowing nothing was there. “I’ll just it check out in just a mid, would you go prep my house, I think i’d like a nightstolle by myself,” I asked undoing my dress.
“Yes my princess,”
“Don’t call me princess please, it’s Aaron, if you could tell your guards that too for the millionth time,” I huffed hearing the sound of my door close. “Thank you,” I whispred slipping my dress and corset off and letting myself breath.
I looked down at my bloodied stomach, looking around for a wound hopelessly. “Can you just give me a break,” I mumbled letting my hands loose and laying down on my bed. “Just let me die already huh,”
“Princess, your steed is prepped!” I heard McAlester shout from down below my window, I smiled forgetting my pain and drapping a robe over me and running downstairs with only leggings and a undershirt covering myself under.
“You don’t have to worry about me you know,” I chuckled grabbing my sword and drapping myself over my steed. “Don’t I always come back fine?” I teased.
“You always come back with some sort of enjoying, don’t stay out to late now princess, it’s my duty to protect you, Aaron,” McAlester said, I smiled and tapping my steed, sending us off into the forest, determined.
We flew off into the forest, jumping over fallen trees and turning corners, the wind blew into my face and I just smiled, feeling free, a rare thought in my mind, knowing I could never be free from the curse that I bardoned myself to be.
“Woah woah slow down,” I hushed pulling on the rains of my steed, coming to a complete stop. “Thats the horse I had seen earlier,” I whispered, watching a identical black steed to my white one, eating grass. “Where has your master gone?” I asked jumping off my horse, wrapping the lead around the tree and walking towards the black steed.
Rushing in the bushes snapped me out of my transe, I turned around drawing my sword and turning around, watching the bushes move all around me.
“Princess it’s only me,” Trufflehunter said coming out of the bush with bandages in hand. I relaxed my body and let the tension leave. “There's a Telmarine here, I thought you should come check it out, Nikabrik has him,”
“Show me will you,” I asked grabbing the reins of the black steed and mine as well, following Trufflehunter through the bush. “I had seen him earlier, I actually came out looking for him,”
“Well we’re right here, be careful princess, won’t your kingdom worry about you being gone for so long?” Trufflehunter asked.
I turned around and waved at the trees. “Send for my kingdom please, let my knights know i’ll be gone for the night but i’m safe, but please don’t mention where I am,” I asked the tree, the leaves formed and flew behind us towards the kingdom. “I make the rules,” I chuckled walking into the house.
“Aaron what a lovely viste,” Nikabrik said smiling and standing up. “I could make some tea if you’d like,”
“I’d like that, I could bangae the Telmarine up, wouldn’t want you guys getting in harm's way,” I suggested, Trufflehunter passed me the bangaes and pointed to the room. “You didn’t make it to far did you,” I whispered sitting myself down on the bed and unrolling the bandages. “When you wake up you’ll be sent back to your kingdom, you’ve caused enough trouble,”
I finished wrapping the boys head and walked out, sitting down on a soft cushion placed with Trufflehunter and Nikabrik. “How did he get here?” I asked taking a sip of my tea.
“That boy was being chased by guards, the took Trumpkin,” Nikabrik said munching angrily on a sandwich. “You’ll get him back won’t you?”
“I will bright and earlier, bargain for a bargain,” I smiled leaning back against the wall. “It feels nice not to spend the night in the castle, i’d rather be free, roaming around Narnia,” I chuckled taking another sip.
“Princess,” Trufflehunter said then paused. “Aaron, he had this with him, he blew it,” Susan's horn was held in his hand. “Do you think they’ll come?”
“Hopefully, it’ll be my chance to do what i’d like,” I chuckled leaning back. “They’d probably me grateful to see me you think, mad that I hadn’t come back with them, confused that I hadn’t aged a day,” I laughed rubbing my forehead.
“That’s the curses of this land for you, i’m sorry that I couldn’t find anything that’ll help you, nothing in my books had a curse for immortality,” Nikabrik hummed feeling bad.
“Don’t worry about it, i’ve lived with it for three-hundred years, what more can I do,” I chuckled finishing up my tea. “I’ll take my place on the couch, you two stay safe okay,” I helped myself up and walked to the couch that laid in the room where the boy was sleeping. “Don’t worry, he can kill me,” I laughed taking myself out of the room.
“Hey Aaron,” Nikabrik said, I turned around and faced him. “You know the kingdom is clueless of you, i’ve heard them speaking well they roam the forest, they just think your like Aslan, not immortal but alive with magic, that could be changed in a heartbeat,”
“I wish it was like that Nikabrik, my life would be less stressful,” I chuckled leaving the room and placing myself onto the couch, I pulled the blanket down and positions myself to face the boy, awaking at any sound.
The morning came quickly, and the muffled sounds of the boy woke me up, I shot my eyes opened washing his move.
“What the?” The boy mumbled touching the bandages on his head, Nikabrik and Trufflehunter muffled voices were heard from the kitchen, I closed my eyes when the boy looked my way, opening them up once again.
I stood up quickly, taking form and following the boy, I watched him look at Trufflehunter in confusion.
“Well it’ll be to late to kill him now, and plus the princess wouldn’t like you killing guests now would she,” Trufflehunter said, the boy darted for the door, getting blocked by Nikabrik.
I smirked watching him grab a poker and point it at the pair. Placing my sword down on the ground I jumped on the boys back wrapping my arm around his through and using my legs to bring him to the ground.
“Okay okay okay,” I hisses tapping his hand against my arms, I lost my grip, pushing him to the ground taking my sword off the ground and pointing to his chest.
“Who are you?” I asked stepping on his chest. “Why are you here?” I asked raising my eyebrow.
“I’m Prince Caspian,” Capsian, what his name was, raised his hands in the air. I loosened my posture. “My uncle, he’s trying to kill me,”
“Princess Aaron,” I placed my sword down and placed my hand out infront of me. “Your uncle, i’m taking a guess that the baby was a boy,” I asked looking at Caspian.
“I’ve got to go, go back and fight,” Caspian said looking at me. “My uncle made the guards shoot arrows at my bed, i’ve got to tell my father,”
“Let me accompany you, I can stop the war that is about to occur, and I don’t think you’ll be able to walk so far on your own, without your steed,” I smiled looking outside the window, both our steeds laid asleep in the forest.
“You found him,” Caspian smiled. “It’s nice to meet you princess but we both have kingdoms to go back to, go back to your,” Caspian turned around walking out of the hut, I quickly grabbed my sword and followed him.
“My kingdom won’t need me, you’ve blown the horn haven’t you, my brothers and sisters will be here, they could do it, I insist on coming with you,” I huffed untying my need.
“No offence Princess but your not dressed for the occasion and I wouldn’t want you to die on my hands,” Caspian jumped on his steed, looking at me as I copied is action, covering my undershirt with my robe.
“You’d be surprised at what I could take, i’m coming with you,” I demanded, Caspian shed a smile and took off, I nodded at Trufflehunter and Nikabrik then took off. “No offence Prince Caspian, but i’ve never seen you around,” I yelled riding beside him.
“I could say the same thing for you Princess Aaron, i’ve never seen you before, how do I know your telling the truth now,” Caspian teased.
“Guess you’ll just have to trust me!” I yelled toggling the reins, causing me to move forward, faster than Caspian, I smiled as we raced through the forest together, it was about a day trip from Tremarine from Narnia.

The Hyborian Age (Part VI of VI) The Darkness... and The Dawn
Tumblr media
“Following the collapse of the Aquilonian Empire, the Hyrkanian hordes came riding in from the East. Hyrkanians and Turanians together in time, united under one great chief. With no Aquilonian armies to oppose them, they were invincible, sweeping first over Zamora, then Brythunia, Hyperborea and Corinthia. Next, they swept into Cimmeria, driving the black-haired barbarians before them. But, among the hills, where the Hyrkanian cavalry was less effective, the Cimmerians turned on them, and only a disorderly retreat saved them from complete annihilation. The Picts, meanwhile, made themselves the masters of Aquilonia, massacring nearly all the inhabitants in the process. Probably only these fierce Pictish thrusts stopped the raging Hyrkanians from adding even Stygia to their widening empire. Nemedia, never before conquered, now reeled between West and East when a tribe of Aesir wandered South, to be engaged as mercenaries. Meanwhile, the Pictish chief Gorm, whose ambition had begun the slaughter, was slain by Hialmar, a chief of the Nemedian Aesir. 75 years had elapsed since he had first heard tales of the western lands from the lips of Arus, priest of Mitra. Long enough for a man to live, or a civilization to die.
For a short age, Pict and Hyrkanian snarled at each other over the ruins of the world they had conquered. Then began the glacial ages, and many nordic tribes were driven southward by the moving ice fields, driving kindred clans before them in turn. Nemedia, meanwhile, became a Nordic kingdom, ruled by descendants of the Aesir mercenaries. Pressed by the Nordic tides, the Cimmerians were on the march, destroying first Gunderland, then hewing their way through the Pictish hosts to defeat the Nordic-Nemedians and sack some of their cities. Then they continued eastward, overthrowing an Hyrkanian army on the borders of Brythunia. Hot on their heels, hordes of Aesir and Vanir swarmed South, and the newly founded Pictish Empire reeled beneath their strokes. Nemedia was overthrown, and the half-civilized Nordics fled before their wilder kinsmen, leaving the cities of Nemedia ruined and deserted. These fleeing Nordic-Nemedians broke the back of Hyrkanian power in Shem, Brythunia and Hyperborea, forcing the descendants of the Lemurians back toward the Vilayet Sea. Meanwhile, the Cimmerians, wandering southeastward, destroyed the ancient Hyrkanian kingdom of Turan and settled by the inland sea.
Their Western empire destroyed, the Hyrkanians butchered all unfit captives and herded thousands of slaves before them as they rode back onto the mysterious East. They would return thousands of years later, as Mongols, Huns, Tartars and Turks. Meanwhile also, red-haired Vanir adventurers came into Stygia, where they overthrew the reigning class and built up a vast southern empire which they call Egypt. From these red-haired conquerors the early pharaohs were to boast descent. The Western world was now dominated by Nordic barbarians. There were few cities anywhere; the once dominant Hyborians had vanished from the earth, leaving scarcely a trace of blood in the veins of their conquerors. In time, the whole history of the Hyborian age was lost in a cloud of myths and fantasies.
And then, another terrific convulsion of the earth hurled all into chaos again, carving out the lands as they are known to us now. Great strips of the western coast sank, and the mountains of western Cimmeria became islands later called British. A vast sea, later called Mediterranean, was formed then the Stygian continent broke away from the rest of the world. The territory around the slowly drying inland sea was not affected, and the Nordics retreating there lived more or less at peace with the Cimmerians already present. In time, the two races became intermingled. In the West, the remnants of the Picts, reduced to the status of stone-age savages, possessed the land once more, till, in a later age, they were overthrown by the westward drift of the Cimmerians and Nordics. This drift resulted from a growing population which thronged the steppes West of the inland sea, now known as the Caspian and much reduced in size -- to such an extent that migration became an economic necessity. Known now as Aryans, these tribes moved into the areas now occupied by India, Asia Minor and much of Europe.
Some variations of these primitive sons of Aryas are still recognised today; others have been long forgotten since. The Nemedians of Irish legendary were the Nemedian Aesir, while the later sea-roving Danes were the descendants of the Vanir. The blond Achaians, Gauls and Britons were descended from the pure-blooded Aesir. The Gaels, ancestors of Irish and Highland Scotch came of pure-blooded Cimmerian clans. The ancient Summerians were of mixed Hyrkanian and Shemitish blood, while from the purer Shemites were descended both the Arabs and the Israelites. The Hyrkanians, retreating to the Eastern shores of the continent, evolved into the tribes later known as Huns, Mongols, Tartars and Turks before they bloodily re-entered Western history.
The origins of the other races of the modern world may be similarly traced. In almost every case, older far than they realise, their history stretches back into the mists of the forgotten Hyborian Age...”

December End of the Year Media Madness!
It’s a new month and a new year! And what a crazy month it was what with Tumblr imploding and all. But I’ll still throw this on here just because I’ll be on this site until it literally boots me out. But I do have a twitter now…@metalandmagi where I’m also barely active at all.
Anyway, why make top 10 lists for the entire year when I can just ramble about all the media I consumed this month? There’s only a marginal amount of holiday things on here by my standards!
November media
Movies!
Give me some credit there’s only four Christmas movies on here.
Won’t You Be My Neighbor?: A documentary about Mr. Rogers starting with the birth of the television show to his death. This is the fluffiest most heartwarming thing I could have possibly picked to watch on Christmas, and I encourage everyone, even people who hate documentaries and/or never grew up with Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, to watch it. There’s a lot of important messages about acceptance, dealing with tragedy, and mental health that people can learn from and feel good about. Not to mention how he completely revolutionized children’s television. So yeah, he was awesome.10/10
Spider-man Into the Spider-verse: When a rip between dimensions is opened, a bunch of different spider themed superheroes from every comic fan’s wet dreams all get together to close it. Guys I’m not that big of a Spider-man fan, but dang this movie was a ton of fun. I came for the amazing visual effects and stayed for the amazing...everything else. The music, the performances, and the story were all top notch. Also I now have a new favorite Nick Cage role. If you thought the trailer made the animation look interesting, it was just the tip of the iceberg because it is the most visually interesting movie I’ve seen in the last three years. I strongly suggest any fan of animation...or even any fan of great stories and movies in general go see it even if you’re not that big on Spider-Man. Now I’m demanding a Spider-verse Aunt May movie because I have so many questions! And the post credits scene was the best out of any Marvel movie. Period. 10,000/10
Tumblr media
The Wiz (2015 musical): I should start making a section for musicals or plays instead of just lumping it in with the movies. It’s the Wizard of Oz...but cool. I’ve never seen any iteration of The Wiz and it seems like I’m constantly hearing about it. So I watched the 2015 version of the 1975 Broadway musical that NBC aired. And yeah it’s good. There were some great performances. But I wasn’t very impressed with the songs themselves, and it’s not really the same without a dog along for the ride, but whatever. 7.5/10
Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle: The surprisingly fun reboot/sequel thing of Jumanji where four teenagers get stuck in a video game that follows every “stuck in a video game” trope you can imagine but actually does it well. It’s a sweet, funny romp through the jungle with some great comedic performances. I really don’t have much to say about it except that this movie is better than it has any right to be. 8/10
The Christmas Chronicles: Two children stow away on Kurt Russell’s, I mean Santa’s sleigh and go on a dangerous, balls to the wall adventure throughout Chicago trying to save Christmas or something. After everyone started talking about how crazy this Netflix movie is I had to watch it to verify if it is indeed as wild as they said. And yes...yes it is. It is so laughably ridiculous and questionable that it’s impossible to actually hate. The elves are some unholy mixture of minions and gremlins, one of the children is a literal felon that no one is concerned about, and Kurt Russell is super into the role but has some sort of thing about fat-shaming Santa. I just...have so many questions! But it was certainly a trip, so I’d have to recommend it just so you too can witness the insanity. -10 “savvy, straight-talking St. Nicks”/10
Arthur Christmas: No, it’s not a Christmas special related to the aardvark cartoon! This is the 2011 animated movie that no one remembers exists. Santa’s clumsy but enthusiastic son Arthur must deliver a forgotten present in less than two hours while the rest of his family deals with some Arrested Development style family drama. This is by far the most underrated Christmas movie of all time; even I didn’t realize it was actually good until I watched it for the first time in 2016! The fun road-trip style plot and the entertaining characters were victims of bad marketing. Arthur is hilariously endearing, and there was so much heart and effort put into it that I can find new things to notice every time I watch it. Not to mention the amazingly animated opening spy sequence! And also Mrs. Claus is secretly a total badass and Bryony the elf is the coolest female character in a Christmas movie ever. The movie’s message of old vs new is nothing we haven’t seen before, but I really don’t care because at the heart of it all, it’s about making people happy on Christmas. If you’re like me and just assumed this movie would suck...or didn’t know it exists, please give it a chance. It’s not perfect, but it’s worth seeing. 9/10
Neo Yokio Pink Christmas: Yes, it’s the Christmas special for Neo Yokio. No I cannot accurately describe it with mere words. There’s a rich bachelor gift exchange, demon possession, and pompous French aunts slinging insults at each other. It is unironically my favorite holiday episode of a show ever, and to me it’s the best Christmas special ever made. I thought I was prepared for the absolute bat-shit ride I would go on, but no...I wasn’t even close. At this point I don’t know if it’s written like this on purpose or if some divine twist of fate made the executives believe this is truly brilliant television. Either way, it is a masterpiece in its own right. There’s even a somewhat intriguing plot and a message about gift giving and capitalism under all the crazy! If you haven’t jumped down the rabbit hole yet, I implore you to watch the insanity that is Neo Yokio and follow it up with Pink Christmas because it will truly make your holiday season. 100,000 demon DNA drugs out of 100,000!
Tumblr media
Die Hard: Nothing says Christmas like terrorists taking over a skyscraper and Bruce Willis having to take them all down by himself. Yeah...so I’ve never seen Die Hard before, but this is one of those movies that is so famous that I felt like I’d already absorbed everything important through cultural osmosis. And even though it’s pretty good, I would have liked it better if I didn’t know what was going to happen. My only real complaint is that I think it goes on way too long. More than anything it just made me sad to remember that Alan Rickman is gone. And it bothers me so much that John McClane goes through this building that’s under construction WITHOUT SHOES! 8/10
Books!
The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis: The 4th/6th book in the Chronicles of Narnia, in which Eustace Scrubb and his classmate Jill Pole go to the underworld to find King Caspian’s long lost son. Even though my children- the Pevensies aren’t in it, I actually think this book is my favorite of the series so far. Jill and Eustace are both sassy enough to play off each other, Puddleglum absolutely hilarious, and the book actually has a clear cut plot! It reads much more like a Greek myth than a children’s fairy tale since there aren’t nearly as many of Lewis’s trademark author interjections, and you know...it’s a literal journey to the underworld. And can I just say that it’s super refreshing to have an author write two main characters WITH ZERO ROMANTIC INTENTIONS! Especially since they’re freaking children! Now I just wish Disney had continued the movies even more! 9/10
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare: I’m going to do this with only minor spoilers. It’s the final book in The Dark Artifices trilogy. Will Emma and Julian break the parabatai bond? Will the reflection of the modern day American government- I mean the Cohort/ the Clave fuck up the relationships between Shadowhunters and Downworlders forever? You’ll have to suffer like the rest of us to find out! In my opinion, 99% of this book is amazing, but in the last 50 pages there are some...bullshit ways of solving problems. Like everything that went down with the Cohort in Idris. Not to mention we’ve been so invested in the parabatai curse and how Julian and Emma’s bond would go down and...let’s just say the resolution was way too easy. And if you thought Clare’s other finales were jam packed, you ain't seen nothin’ yet. My copy is 880 pages and there was still more stuff that I wanted to happen...like any sort of scene between Dru and Ash...or an ending between Kit and Ty that doesn’t make me want to cry (the Wicked Powers is going to be brutal). But the rest of that 99% is mind-blowing! There’s so much good I can say that it mostly outranks anything I didn’t like...I mean we finally got a Malec wedding and a proper polyamorous relationship for the Angel’s sake! It may be my least favorite of her finales by default but it was still a fun ride! 9/10
TV shows!
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018): An elite soldier finds a sword that can transform her into a super buff magical girl who helps princesses take down the forces of evil. It’s a reboot of the 1980s cartoon, and holy crap it’s AMAZING! I have a whole new group of children to adopt, each episode is entertaining in its own way, and there’s so...many...good...ships! And it gives Steven Universe a run for its money with the care that went into making every character a different kind of warrior, which I love because the cast is 99% female. My only real complaint is that I never warmed up to Catra because she wasn’t particularly sympathetic to me from the beginning. But I understand why some people love her. If you love well crafted adventurous character driven cartoons and haven’t watched it yet WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?  10/10
Tumblr media
Nailed It Holiday: Yes, my favorite baking show (and by that I mean the only baking show I watch) has a holiday season out on Netflix, in which newbie bakers are tasked with making incredibly professional desserts with a very short time limit. And whoever makes the best treat gets 10,000 dollars. I’ve talked about this show before in my June media madness, and I don’t know what it is but I’m so addicted to it. 10/10
Brooklyn nine-nine (season 5): Come on we all know the cop sitcom. It’s the best sitcom. Just in general it’s the best. Great characters that subvert expectations, great humor, and a lot of heart. I’ve known that this show is supposed to be amazing for years, but I only started watching it a few months ago. And since I couldn’t find season 5 anywhere...I got a Hulu subscription just to watch it before season 6 comes out. That’s how good this show is. 10/10
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (season 2): Our favorite underdog comedian is back, and she’s slowly gaining popularity and doing...stuff. Like going on tour. And hanging out with Zachary Levi. Yes, this season is great, but my problem with this series is that every character aside from Midge and Susie are the fucking worst, especially the parents. Midge’s parents suck, Joel’s parents suck, Midge and Joel are appropriately neglectful parents for the time period...I could go on. And it’s not even in a funny way; like it’s just disgusting to watch these power dynamics. Not to mention how old the comedic bits for the parents get (how many times can we hear about Joel needing to date or Midge needing to get married?!) Yes, I realize that we’re supposed to be annoyed AND YES I realize that this is a product of culture and how society was, but none of the parents have any redeeming qualities. In episode one, we’re led to believe that Midge’s parents will grow and change through the season and they never do! At least there are moments where Joel can kind of be redeeming and expand on his actual character before he reverts back to being an asshole. Anyway, my thoughts are pretty much the same as the first season. It’s funny and interesting to watch, but it can be ridiculously frustrating when you hate almost all the characters!  8/10
Fuller House (season 4): Yes I do watch the ridiculous Netflix reboot of Full House. And yes, it is absolutely terrible! I really really hate it! But will I stop watching it? Let’s just say you can pry this pile of garbage from my cold dead hands. I don’t know if I’d call this a guilty pleasure or a hate watch type of show... it’s certainly not so bad it’s good territory like Neo Yokio...but Full House was pretty much my entire childhood. And yes, the original show is also not great. I loved it as a kid, and it was my first real exposure to a non-traditional family in live action, but yeah it doesn’t age well. What I’m trying to say is...I have no good reason for watching this.
I don’t mean to say that there’s nothing good about it, especially this season. They really back off on the more cringe-worthy catch phrases, Stephanie being aware of how stupid the writing is and constantly pointing it out is actually funny, their Christmas episode was surprisingly genuine, and they impressed me by actually make two female characters try and work through their difficulties instead of pitting them against each other for laughs. It has its moments, just like the original but definitely not enough to make up for the worst of it. Maybe this generation of children will like it the way lots of my generation used to like Full House...but yeah it’s awful, I hate it so much. -1 missing Tanner child out of 3
Voltron Legendary Defender (season 8) SPOILERS: It’s the final season of Netflix’s Voltron, and boy it was...something. I didn’t want to make this a big rant/defense of the show...but I feel like I have to highlight some things because this fandom is a shithole that refuses to see the good in anything.
There is so much good and so much...not good I can say about it, so here’s a couple things. I know this show didn’t go the direction anyone wanted, but that doesn’t make it bad. In addition to the stunning fight scenes and music, the performances this season were just amazing! I literally wanted to cry every other episode even though sometimes I didn’t know why the fuck something was happening. I don’t know how I feel about Honerva’s plan. I understand her motivation, but I was constantly questioning how we got from point A to point B... so yeah the plot and writing could be...weird at times. Also everyone seemed to have super pointy chins this season...
Spoiler alert: Not many of us wanted Lance and Allura to happen, but I truly believe it wasn’t done in a half assed way. At the very least, I appreciate that they had a genuine bond that developed over so many seasons. BECAUSE YES IT DID! Anyone who says they had no development or that it felt forced never paid attention. I wanted it to stay platonic; I wanted Klance to happen, but...I can’t be too mad at the writers because they at least tried. I still believe that Klance was endgame and the creators were forced to change the outcome of the show later on. AND YES LANCE DID GET A CHARACTER ARC! It may not have been the one we wanted to see, but I’m baffled that people think Lance living with his family, surrounded by people he loves-which is what he wanted all along- is not a happy ending. I just wish his relationship with Keith wasn’t pretty much ignored all season. But I believe Allura is his past that taught him to genuinely love and Keith is his future who will make Lance his “first choice”. And I’m not even gonna try to explain how I feel about Shiro and Allura’s endings because everything I feel is so complicated and layered. There is good and there is bad.
TLDR: This show teaches us that we’re stronger together, and I think the “fandom” completely missed the point because they do nothing but tear others down and refuse to look at things from other perspectives. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO NOT LIKE IT, BUT YOU DON’T HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAKE AWAY OTHER PEOPLE’S ENJOYMENT AND BE A DICK ABOUT IT. It may not have been everything I wanted, but I’m glad I went on this ride. Besides, there are canonically infinite realities so there’s got to be a reality where all your dreams for the show come true. As a season, I’d say it’s a 7.5/10.

alright kids listen up dailymemori is writing meta and it’s not just in the tags this time so that makes this an historic day. in case you’re wondering where this is coming from, my sister is watching the 100 for the first time, and last night she was watching 2x12 so for obvious reasons i decided to watch it with her and i had??? a lot of feelings???? i mean some of these feelings were because my sister told me she hates emori (which was like…. fight emoticon activated (ง'̀-‘́)ง) but MORE IMPORTANTLY i just had a lot of feelings over how ride or die memori have been for each other since literally DAY ONE
so first off we have jaha telling the group to give this strange desert lady some water and he doesn’t specify anyone but you know who the only person to step up is? john “i wouldn’t take food from jaha because nobody gives anything without expecting something in return” murphy. like hmm buddy what’s up with that.  and when caspian tries to stop murphy, we get the classic “touch me again and i’ll end you” line which i believe technically puts caspian first on a long list entitled “People John Murphy Has Threatened To Kill For Emori"
(this isn’t even touching on flustered, stammering, trying to say the words “you’re welcome” murphy because i mean we all know that’s just most teenage boy thing ever and its funny because emori is just like….dude. all i said was thanks??)
and then we get to their first real conversation and it’s the most transparent honest and open three minutes?? like with only minimal prodding emori gets him to spill his tragic backstory™ and he doesn’t sugarcoat it he just straight up tells her that he’s killed people and he’s “the bad guy” and she doesn’t flinch. in return she shows him the part of her that her people literally threw her in the trash for and that she covers and hides and he just takes it in stride and tells her it’s badass. i know i’ve seen this conversation picked apart so many times and everyone has made so many good observations about it but like, one thing that always sticks out to me is when murphy asks emori what she did and emori responds that “if i told you, you would not look at me the same.”
like, i’m pretty sure murphy is thinking that this was an action, a choice, that she made the decision to do something that got her kicked out. but emori is talking about something physical. she sees this boy giving her heart eyes and she believes that he won’t be doing that if she shows him her hand. and both their assumptions end up being wrong so they both just kind of smile and giggle which i believe starts an equally long list entitled “All The Times John Murphy And Emori Have Made Each Other Laugh” and it’s precious????
then of course we’ve got that last interaction of 2x12 where things sort of go south but at the same time?? they’re still pretty ride or die??? like for emori this was just another day at the office. this was her life. this is how she and otan survived. they stole from people. murphy was just another job here. but obviously he’s not just another job to her because she whispers in his ear to go due north and then tells him good luck (and u know, punches him in the face) but like,,, that’s significant!! I don’t think she went around doing that with everyone they robbed!!!! she was still gonna do what needed to be done to finish the job but she gave him a CHANCE.
and MUPRHY. god this boy wakes up after getting punched silly and still trusts emori 110%????? she stole all their shit and left them for dead and knocked him out and he still believes her??? they have no food no water no nothing but emori said to go due north so john just WALKS INTO A DESERT??? SOLELY BECAUSE SHE SAID SO????
and maybe murphy didn’t believe her 110%. it was probably more like 32%, considering how shocked he sounds when they think they found the city of light and he says “emori was telling the truth.” (which side note is the same line when he pronounces her name wrong that one (1) time which I still find to be the FUNNIEST THING EVER) but even when jaha points out that if they trust murphy- if they trust emori- and they’re wrong, they all die, or they can turn back and live, murphy still takes that chance!!! the chance that emori gave him!!! 32% is still more than he trusts anyone else at the moment, so he’ll wander around in the desert, and maybe even die, because he has nothing better to do than trust the girl who was nice to him for five minutes before she knocked him unconscious. for a dude who is all about “survivors moves,” this is certainly not one.
and it all just made me tear up a little last night watching the beginning of this story of the girl who will always give the boy direction and purpose, and the boy who will follow the girl to the ends of the earth, who eventually find a home in each other.

Idiot
Peter x reader. so basically y/n wants to fight, but gets in a lot of trouble. And I`m from Norway so I`m sorry if my english is bad
“You`re getting the hang of it!” Susan smiled to me. I rolled my eyes towards her.
“That`s not entirely true,” I laughed and studied the blink, who only had one arrow on it. All the others was on the ground.
“Well, you`re getting there,” Susan said while taking the bow from my hands. Susan was my dearest friend. I never had a friend on my age, who was a girl, until Susan showed up. We bonded at once.
Tumblr media
We were getting ready for the battle against Miraz. Peter`s plan was stupid, but I wanted to fight. It was a long time ago, I had been in a battle. We heard shouting and laugher from two boys who came riding against us, while sword fighting.
Metal against metal.
Peter lost his sword when Ed hit his hand with his sword.
“Auch!” Peter yelled while touching his hand.
“I won!” Edmund cheered happily.
“You cheated!” Peter said frustrated.
“I don`t think you can cheat in battle,” Edmund laughed.
Both Susan and I laughed. First then, they noticed us. Peter and Ed climbed off the horse, and walked towards us.
Peter Pevensie.
The look of him made me smile. My bestfriends oldest brother. He was a dork, but so kind to everyone. We were good friends, but I knew I wanted something more, even though I didn`t admit it to myself.
“What are you doing?” Peter asked while studying us, but I felt his eyes were mostly on me. “Preparing,” I said, while looking at Susan who nodded. “For what?” Peter crossed his eyebrows.
“The attack on Miraz` castle?” I said, in a - duh, voice. “What else?”
“You`re not going, y/n.” Peter said and looked serious at me.
I laughed it off. No way he wouldn`t let me fight.
When he didn`t change the look on his face, my laugher died. “You`re joking, right?” I asked.
“Why would I?” He asked back.
“Because you need me there. You need all the fighters you can get, Pevensie.” I spitted, frustrated.
“I need you back here with Lucy if anything were to go wrong,” Peter approached me. “I need to fight!” I said in a angry tone.
“No, you`re not going to!” Peter said in just as angry tone as me. I felt like I would explode anytime.
“God! You really are an idiot!” I approached him, only few centimeters from each other.
“Stop acting so childish!” Peter commanded.
“I`m the one being childish?” I laughed at his comment. I could feel Susan and Edmund eyeing us.
Silence.
“This discussion is over,” Peter said and turned around to pick up his sword.
I wanted so bad to punch him, but instead I just turned and left.
I heard Susan run after me. “It`s so unfair!” I complained when she was next to me. “It`s stupid,” Susan rolled her eyes.
I had been up all night trying to find out what to do or say to make Peter change his mind. I had the perfect idea.
Peter was talking and laughing with Edmund, when I walked up to him. Behind me, Lucy and Susan followed.
“Pevensie,” I yelled, and both Pevensie brothers turned around, but both knew I was talking to the oldest.
I walked up to Peter and pushed my finger into his chest. “I challenge you to fight me. If you win, I won`t go. If I win, I get to go. If I can fight The High King Peter, I am deserved to fight the battle.” I said, few centimeters from him once again.
Peter chuckled.
“Are you serious?” He asked, even though he knew.
“Why wouldn`t I be?”
Peter smiled confident. That smile.
“Deal?”
“Deal,”
We didn`t have any armor on. Edmund was the judge. We used swords who were in bad shapes, so we wouldn`t hurt each other. It was hot outside, and our only audience was Lucy and Susan.
“If one of you loses your sword or surrender, the fight is over.” Edmund said. We both nodded. “Shake hands,” Ed said, pointing at us. I turned towards Peter and held out my hand.
He shook it.
“Goodluck Pevensie,” I smiled.
“Goodluck love,” he returned.
We circled around each other. “Why won`t you let me fight?” I asked. Peter raised his sword, and I did the same thing.
Sound of metal against metal filled the air.
“A little busy, if you didn`t notice,” he answered, blocking my sword. I moved my feet, and jumped over his sword, which was aiming for my feet.
Our swords met once again.
We circled again, and our eyes met. His blue eyes met (m/c) ones. It felt like hours. His blue eyes were like the deep ocean, and it made my knees wiggle. I shook my head, and came back to reality.
He was unfocused, and it was the perfect opportunity. I kicked him in the leg, so he lost balance and fell on the ground. His sword was no longer in his hand, and I pointed my sword at him.
Susan and Lucy cheered. Peter looked speechless. “Y/n wins!” Edmund laughed.
I got on my armor before the battle. I heard someone approach.
“You`re not going,” His voice was the same as usual. I turned around and met his blue eyes.
Those eyes.
“Yes, I am.” I said, while taking my sword.
I tried to walk out on him, but he stopped me, by grabbing my wrist. “No, you`re not.” He said.
I sighed. “You already agreed on the fight!” My voice got louder.
“You cheated!”
“I did not!”
I got more irritated. It was a fair and square fight. “Yes you did, I looked into your eyes!” He snapped. “That doesn`t even make sense!” I laughed. Not knowing how to react. He was angry now.
“Yes it is! Because your eyes is so gorgeous, and all I could do was look into them. I didn`t focus, and now it`s my fault that you`re going to battle!” He yelled now and pointed at me.
I blushed by him telling me my eyes were gorgeous. It was the weirdest compliment and argument I´d ever heard. But he wouldn`t win this discussion. Not ever.
“Peter, I know how to fight.” I said, even though it wasn`t a good point. “Why is it so hard for you to let me win this discussion?!” I continued.
“Because I don`t want to risk losing you! If you hurt yourself or die in that battle, I don`t know how to keep on going. I am in love with you, y/n, can`t you see?” He exploded, while pointing at me. His eyes were wet of tears, because he was so frustrated and angry. (gif)
Tumblr media
“Oh no” He mumbled soon after he realized what he just said.
My lips formed into a big smile. He just confessed his love to me. Maybe it was time I confessed mine, both to myself and him.
“You`re an idiot, you know.” I said, and approached him. “W-what?” he blinked. I pulled him into a hug, and shocked, he hugged back. I felt his lips touch the back of my head while hugging him. (gif)
Tumblr media
“I`m in love with you too, Pevensie. But I`m still going to fight, it`s not a good enough argument.”
Sword against sword.
Metal against metal.
Screaming and crying.
Living and dead.
It was all a part of going to battle. We all knew that.
We were at Miraz` castle. It was a chaos. I looked over at Peter who blocked a sword, before stabbing a telmarine.
«Y/n, watch out!» I heard Susan yell, and I turned around. A telmarine had lifted his sword in front of my face. I tilted my head quickly away from the sword, but it left a burning pain right under my eye.
I turned back to the telmarine, who now had an arrow in his chest. «Thanks Susan!» I yelled and stabbed another telmarine in the stomach.
I heard a roar, and looked after the sound. One of the Narnians held the gate up. I looked to Peter, and he met my eyes.
"Fall back!" he yelled, and ran down the stairs.
I looked confused at Susan and Caspian. Caspian followed his order, and started running.
"We need to retreat! Now!" I heard Peters voice behind me, while he ran down the stairs. He hit another telmarine, and pointed at me and Susan with his sword.
"Go! Get them out of here!"
We couldn't just back off. So many needed help.
Oreius approached towards Susan.
"Back to the gate! Go!" Peter tried to make sure everyone got the message, but there was too many.
Susan reached out for Oreius hand, and managed to get on his back. "Y/n! C'mon!" Susan yelled at me, when they got closer to me. Oreius reached out his hand, but I didn't take it.
"I'll meet you outside!" I said, and ran away. «Y/n!» Susan yelled. It was heartbreaking to hear her.
I looked over my shoulder, where they were waiting. "Go!" I yelled and slashed a telmarines troath. There was so many Narnians who needed help, and I couldn't just leave them. Oreius started running for the gate. Peter didn't notice me being behind him, since he was looking for Caspian.
"Go!"
"Get out!"
"Go!"
"Get out!"
"Retreat!"
I heard Peter's shouting to the other Narnians, while I was killing telmarines.
Maybe I could get my hands on Miraz himself. Even if it meant my own death.
I heard Narnians scream orders to each other, while running to the gate.
«Y/n! We have to retreat!» A faun pulled my armor, after I killed a telmarine who tried killing him. «I'll be there in a second!» I assured. «I don't think we have another second!» He pointed at the Narnian who held up the gate.
I saw Caspian coming out a door, riding on a horse, while another one ran on the other side of him. Behind him there was an old man, with beard and glasses.
I still fought soliders, and helped Narnians get out. "Go!" I said to a wolf, while blocking a sword. The wolf did as I said.
I heard another roar. I looked over my shoulder, and saw the Narnian on the gate, getting an arrow in his leg.
Peter and Caspian rode out on their horses. I ran towards the gate, shouting to Narnians to get out. I was only meters from the gate, when the Narnian fell down, with the gate over him.
No.
This couldn't be.
Reep ran out the gate and looked at me. "Tell Peter it's okay," I said to him, while having tears in my eyes. It was over.
I were going to die.
"Y/n!" I saw up from small Reep, and on the blonde boy who yelled at me. He climbed down from the horse and ran towards the gate.
He tried opening the gate, but it was useless.
"Peter! Get the hell out of here!" I said and tried to push him away. His blue eyes had tears in them.
"Run for your lives!"
"Save yourself!"
"Go! Please!"
"Peter, the bridge!"
«No! No, I`m not leaving you behind!» His voice cracked.
«Pevensie. It`s okay. It`s okay. You hear me? I love you. I always will do." I reached out for Peter`s hand. Those three words.
They were worth it all.
"I love you too, y/n. Thats why I can`t go!» He held my hand hard, trying to find a way to get me out. I squeezed his hand. «Go you idiot, please» I whispered, while smiling to him. I saw Caspian approach Peter from behind him. I nodded to him, and I could see he cried too.
Caspian pulled Peter away from the gate. "No! Y/n!" He yelled, trying to get lose from his grip. I smiled bravely to Peter, knowing it was the last time I would see him.
Tumblr media
Caspian got Peter up on the horse, before they jumped over the bridge.
"Leave us!"
"Go brothers!"
"In the name of Aslan!»
While watching Peter leave, Narnians fought the Telmarines. I just waited to get an arrow in my back, but someone shaked me back to reality.
"Y/n! Get under here!" another faun grabbed my wrist and pointed at some dead telmarines. "I think High King Peter would like to have you alive,"
"But..--"
"No buts. Just do it. For Peter, and for Narnia."
I did as he told me, and I heard screaming from the Narnians. It broke my heart.
The bodies were cold, and heavy.
"Stay alive, please." The faun smiled at me, as he put another body on top of me, before he ran to fight.
After a while, it was completely quiet.
Tears were running down my face.
I was so scared.
"Get rid of the bodies." I heard a commanding voice. I heard someone approach where I was. Under the bodies of their friends.
I felt weight leave the top of me.
"Oh my. Would you look at this?" I heard a laughing voice. "They hid her. How sweet." Someone kicked my foot.
"We know you're not dead, lady y/n"
I turned around, and pulled out my sword. Over me there was five men, each pointing a crossbow at me. It was so over.
"Your majesty. I think you would like to see this," The telmarine pushed me into the room.
I looked at Miraz, who turned around. He smiled the biggest smile I´d ever seen when he saw me.
"Oh, look what we have here!" He said in a spanish accent. "Brave, stupid girl."
"What would you like us to do with her?" another telmarine asked.
"I think we're gonna need her." Miraz laughed and came closer to me, his face was only a few centimeters away from mine.
"I've heard rumors that High King Peter has a little crush on this lady right here." He smiled.
"You fucki..--"
I tried to punch him, but a telmarine held my hands on my back. I heard a laugher fill the room, from the other telmarines.
He laughed loud.
"Ah, young love.»
Lucy
Peter was finally calm. He had tried to go back to the castle, and planned a way to get in. He finally understood it was over. Y/n was dead. He was quiet, and nobody had talked to him. I went into Aslan`s How, where he was sitting and looking at the Aslan sculpture on the wall.
I sat down next to him. We both stayed silent for a minute. «It`s all my fault, you know.» He said. He didn`t look at me, but I saw his eyes were red and puffy from crying.
«I never should have made the plan. It was stupid. And she should have stayed here.»
«Y/n wanted to go to battle. When you go to battle, you know the risk. It is not a hundred percent chance you come back. She knew that. It`s not your fault, Peter.» I said, and laid my hand on top of his.
He then turned around to me.
«I don`t know how to keep on going,» He admitted to me. «How do I do it, Lucy?»
I didn`t know. I had never been in love.
«You just do,»
«And you`re the king. Miraz is coming back, and it`s your job to lead us to victory. It`s what y/n would`ve wanted you to do»
Peter looked down on his hands, not finding words to say.
“Love is weird” he mumbled.
«Pete. You`d better come quickly,»
We both looked up at Edmund. He looked worried.
Y/n
The rope on my hands hurt a lot. I sat in a tent, tied in a chair, with blindfolds on. I heard horses and men outside of the tents. I heard voices coming closer, and someone opened the tent. Someone ripped the blindfold off, and I saw two telmarines in front of me. The telmarines untied me from the chair and started leading way through.
In a big `tent`, Miraz sat, with other high men. «Ah, lady y/n. Please.» The telmarines pushed me into a corner of the tent.
«We are having a guest. A good friend of yours.» Miraz said and sat down into a big chair.
My heart started beating faster.
What did he mean by that?
Few seconds later, a familiar face entered the tent.
«Ed!» I yelled, and tried to run to him, but the telmarines held me back.
«Y/n?» He asked shocked, and also tried running to me.
«What are you here for?» Miraz asked cold, and nodded to him. Edmund took his eyes off me, and pulled up some paper.
Instead of answering, he started reading what the paper said.
«I, Peter, by the gift of Aslan, by election and by conquest, High King of Narnia, Lord of Cair Paravel and emperor of the Lone Islands, in order to prevent the abominable effusion of blood, do hereby challenge the usurper Miraz to single combat upon the field of battle. The fight shall be to the death. The reward shall be total surrender.»
Edmund curled the paper back, looking at me. My thoughts flew back and forth in my mind. So many things could go wrong.
«Tell me, Prince Edmund…» «King,»
«Pardon me?»
«It`s `King Edmund,` actually. Just `King` though. Peter`s the high king.»
I couldn`t help but laugh at Ed`s comment.
«I know. It`s confusing.» Ed watched me.
Miraz looked to the telmarines who sat next to him.
«Why would we risk such a proposal, when our armies could wipe you out by nightfall?» Miraz lifted him arm to make a point.
«Haven`t you already underestimated our numbers? I mean, only a week ago Narnians were extinct.» Edmund looked clam over the men around the table.
«And so you will be again.» Miraz answered.
«Then you should have little to fear,»
Miraz laughed loud.
«This is not a question of bravery,»
Edmund pointed at Miraz with his paper.
«So you`re bravely refusing to fight a swordsman half your age?»
Edmund smiled. He had good points. I was proud of him. Miraz got the attention from everyone in the tent. He leaned forwards. «I didn`t say I refused.»
«You have our support, your Majesty. Whatever your decision,» A telmarine on the other side of the table said.
«You should hope your brother`s sword is sharper than his pen.» Miraz said.
Edmund smiled, but then looked over at me.
«Can we have her back?» He asked polite, and nodded towards me.
Dumb question, Ed.
Miraz looked over at me, and thought about the question for a second.
«If your brother were to win, you can have her back. If not, I will kill her in front of his very own eyes. Tell him that, King Edmund.» Miraz spitted.
Edmund
«She is still alive!» I yelled while running towards Lucy, Caspian, Peter and Susan. «What?» Peter turned around to me.
«Y/n is still alive! She is with Miraz. She is in good shape too.» I smiled widely. Peter started walking past me.
«Hey! Peter!» Caspian yelled.
He didn`t turn around.
«I´m going to get her!»
«No! Peter! They will kill her if they see you coming!» My voice was shaky, and made Peter stop.
He turned back to us.
«How do I get her back?» He asked, with a cracked voice. It hurt so much seeing him like this.
I looked at the ground. «If you beat Miraz, she is yours. If you don`t, he`ll kill her in front of you.»
I walked next to Peter from Aslan`s How. Narnians were yelling and cheering for us. Next to Miraz, I spotted y/n. She stood next to him with a worried look on her face. When she saw Peter, her face lit up. The same with Peter.
«Y/n» he whispered. He started walking faster.
«A-a-a-a, not so fast.» Miraz stood up.
«Can`t I have one word with her?» Peter asked.
Miraz laughed. «No, you can`t»
Y/n
Peter pulled up his sword, and the Narnians cheered. Miraz put his helmet on, and pulled his sword. They started circling around each other.
«There is still time to surrender.» Miraz said.
«Well, feel free.» Peter snapped back.
«How many more must die for the throne?»
Peter gave me one last look, while I was biting my nails. I believed he would win, but I didn`t want to see him getting hurt.
Tumblr media
«Just one» Peter dragged his helmet down. Peter ran towards a rock, jumped off it, and slashed his sword against Miraz.
Peter hit his sword, but Miraz blocked it with his shield, and then punched Peter  in the face. Miraz managed to knock his helmet off. Miraz swinged his sword at Peters face, but he managed to duck. Peter cut through Miraz leg, and they both screamed. Miraz flipped Peter, so he fell on the ground. Peter got up, but got knocked down again.
Miraz stepped on Peters shield, I heard a crack and Peter screamed loud. It looked like he twisted his arm. I felt the need to help him, and felt my heart break. I saw he was in a lot of pain, but he kept on fighting. Peter rolled away from Miraz while blocking his sword. He then rolled back into Miraz` legs, and he then fell. Peter got up, but didn`t focus on the fight. I looked at where his eyes laid, and saw Caspian and Susan riding out of the woods.
«Does his highness need a respite?» Miraz asked.
«Five minutes?»
«Three.»
Peter
«Keep smiling,» Edmund said while watching the Narnians, who now were quiet.
I forced a smile, and lifted my sword. They all cheered.
«I think it`s dislocated. I said when I sat down on the bench. Edmund came over to my side.
My eyes met y/n. I wanted her to be next to me, telling a joke. She smiled to me. I felt a desperate need to have her by my side. To hug her.
«What do you think happens back home, if you die here?» I looked up at him. He didn`t say anything.
«You know, you`ve always been there. And I`ve never really..—» Edmund snapped my arm back to place, and the pain was burning through my whole body.
«Save it for later.» Edmund said and walked away.
I got up again and took my sword from Caspian`s hand. I shook my head when Edmund offered me my helmet.
It was on again.
Miraz punched both his sword and shield against me, but I blocked each time. He managed to hit my head with his shield. I hit a rock, and fell on the ground. I kicked his leg, so he fell next to me.
We both got up, and I managed to get his sword out of his hand. I lost one sword, and started hitting him, but he blocked with his shield. I tried to stab him, but instead lost my sword. He punched me in my face with his fist, before hitting me again with his shield. I punched him in the cut on his leg, and he fell on his knees.
It was over.

Before the real fight started, I ran towards Peter and jumped into a hug. He wrapped his hands around me and holding me close. «You scared the hell out of me!» he whispered, when we pulled apart. «I`m sorry» I whispered back. I rested my hands under his arms, before pulling him against me into a kiss.
Our lips touched, and I felt fireworks and butterflies in my stomach. I smiled, and hugged him again.
Around us the Narnians cheered.
«I still think you`re an idiot, though»

Nothing Between (Edmund x OC)
Edmund Lover “ANarnianMaiden” Amy Ing
Warnings: Kissing?
Word Count: 3,644 words
My name is Crystal. I’m 15 years old. My evil mother Jadis has captured the Just King Edmund.
I don’t know how she did it as he knows of her evil ways. From what she told me, he arrived just two days ago. Apparently, she wants to spell him and use him in her greatest war yet.
What she doesn’t know is that for some time now I have been reading many books about the past and my history. I studied the Kings and Queens of Old, and I have found they are good and just people. I guess the only reason my mother hated them is because they threatened her power. She really did need to be brought down a notch.
Another thing, I now have powers. Powers stronger than my mother. Powers stronger than she could ever imagine.
So, I started distancing myself more than usual. I voiced that I didn’t feel right about going against Aslan, the Great Lion.
Unhappy with my outburst, she threw me into her icy prison. With the Just King.
I guess you could say it was Fate. I have decided to protect him from my mother and help the cause to rid Narnia of her.
He was so much more handsome than I thought he would be and my cold heart skipped a beat when he helped me up.
“Who are you?” He asked me lifting me to my feet.
“My name is Crystal.” I gave him a small smile.
“No doubt one of Jadis’ innocent victims?”
“I put myself here.” Edmund gave me a quizzical look.
“Well, sort of. It’s a long story.” I gave a small laugh.
“I have plenty of time.” He grinned, motioning to the icy walls around us.
“Just promise you won’t interrupt until I done?” He nodded in consent.
“I am the only daughter and child of Jadis so called Queen of Narnia. My mother wants to spell you and use you against your siblings. I am more powerful than her, but she doesn’t know it. I’m going to protect you and shield you from her spell.” I took a deep and long breath after my speech. Edmund just looked at me with his mouth wide open.
“Close your mouth, Ed.” I laughed a small blush covering my cheeks, but he seemed to overlook it.
“So what powers do you exactly have?” He eagerly asked me.
“Whatever my emotions are, they turn into element control. If I cry, it will rain. If I’m angry I can control fire. I can control any power opposite my mother.” I explained in a hushed voice.
“Wow, you are one powerful girl.” Edmund said in awe.
I was about to seat myself next to him, but stopped.
“Quick! She’s coming!” I shoved myself across the room. He shot me a worried glance.
The gate opened with a bang and in walked my mother.
“Well, seems you have been acquainted with the king?” Her words were dripping with sarcasm.
“It’s too bad you were born with none of my powers and magic.” I kept my eyes down as not to make eye contact.
“Come, Edmund. I await your royal presence.” He growled as she dragged him away. With my tracking powers, I followed him. She was taking him to her private meeting room in which even I have never entered. I used my fire powers to melt a hole in the prison wall. Hiding behind an icy pillar, I set of an attack alarm. I knew she would rush to the other side of the castle to get to the watch tower. Like I predicted, she quickly left the room and disappeared down the hallway.
I burst into the room and found an unconscious Edmund. I gently slapped his cheek.
“Edmund! Wake up!” His beautiful brown eyes flashed open and met mine.
“Are you ok?” I asked
“Only a minor gash. She didn’t quite get to me yet.” He weekly smiled at me. I ripped a piece of cool cloth from my icy dress and wrapped it around his arm.
“Ok, we gotta get out of here.” I melted the wall with my hand. I raised my voice in a silent call to my horse, Luna. Faithfully, she came to me and we mounted her.
“Where do I take you?” I asked as he warily wrapped his arms around my waist.
“Aslan’s How.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many hours of riding later, I could feel Edmund’s head falling off my back.
“Hey, don’t fall asleep on me Ed, we still have a ways to go.” I chuckled. He gave me a sleepy laugh in return.
“Should we stop for the night? You must be tired.”
“I suppose we should, I just don’t want my mum catching up with us.” Edmund hopped down and raised his arms to help me.
“Would her sleigh get this far in a forest?” I jumped down and gave him a thanking smile.
“I suppose not.” I shrugged “We can stay here and star before Dawn in the morning.”
“Ok, sure.” He nodded “Bu we can’t light a fire or Jadis will see the smoke and find us.” He scowled at her name.
I shivered and wrapped arms around myself.
“Are you cold” I only nodded
“When you live in a frozen castle with an extremely cold mother and get treated like an invisible icicle your whole life, it kinda takes you over.”
“I can’t even imagine what it would be like to even live in the same house as her” He said to me in sympathy.
“Don’t even try.” I mumbled as I plonked myself on the ground.
“Sorry.” He sat next to me, but looked away. I sighed.
“No, it’s not your fault. It’s just been a really bad day.” He turned to me.
“Aside from meeting you.” I too quickly continued. He laughed. A good strong laugh. Like a rumble of thunder in the mountains. How I loved that sound. We smiled at each other.
Edmund lay down and looked up at the stars.
“I used to watch the stars with my father when I was younger.” He sadly whispered
I lay down next to him and gazed up into the Celestial Lights.
“At least you have those memories. I have always watched them alone.”
“Not anymore.” He whispered into my ear as he pulled me close.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Goodness he was drop dead cute in daylight, but when he sleeps he is ten times better! He just looks so peaceful.
“I know your staring at me.” He muttered in a husky morning voice.
I laughed “Am not!” I claimed, but just as I was about to admire his cuteness, he caught me.
“Told you!” he smirked. Oh, how would I explain why I fainted!
“No fair.” I pouted “You were peeking!” The look of mock horror was too much for me. I collapsed on the ground in fits of laughter.
But all to soon I felt the coolness of my mother’s evil spirit, approaching.
“Edmund! She’s found us!”
“How do you know? I don’t see or hear anything.” He started to panic.
“I can sense her. Get behind me. It’s you she wants.”
Then we saw her. Jadis alone revealed herself. Still clueless about my powers. Fingers crossed. Seeing us both, she laughed.
“Do you really think you can actually save him? Give it up. Think about it for a second. What do you have to offer him?” Sneering in her ice cold tone, she glared at me. “Give him to me, and I may just spare you both. Stay where you are, and die.”
“Never!” Clenching my fists, I yelled back with a force that made her wince and I grinned to myself.
“My dear daughter.” He tone changed for the faked better. “How could anyone but your mother love you? Surly back on Earth, this “king” has a beautiful, talented girl waiting for him.” With that said, she chuckled darkly at my pain, but I hid it well. I slowly raised my arms and started to summon strong powers within me.
“Then if not for love, then for Aslan and what is right!” I yelled as I sent her flying back with my magic.
“Come, Edmund. We have to get out of here.” He nodded.
“I’ll take it from here. Hop on the back.” I gladly did as I was told.
“Rest now. From the force you just used, I’m pretty sure you would be dead tired.” He chuckled. I only nodded as my head drooped on his warm back. as I rested, I realised what I said. Love? Really? Why did I pick up the first line that came into my head?
Whilst mentally face-palming, I fell asleep.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Waking with a start, I sensed something was wrong, but what was it?
“Edmund, where are we?” I quickly questioned. He must have picked up the panic in my voice.
“Aslan’s How. Why?”
“Something’s not right here. I can feel it.” As he urged Luna forward, I started to test my limits with magic by imagining a sword. Into my hands, a beautiful sword began to form.
“Wow!” I whispered. I was entering a new world.
“Here, Edmund, take this. You’ll need it.” His mouth gaped open and nearly hit the floor.
Take it, Ed, we gotta get in there.”  I urged running to the entrance in the lead.
The site that befell me was one that I did not want to see. There was a blonde guy with his sword drawn, but faltering and before them was my mother.
“Really?!? Does she have to be everywhere?” Edmund growled.
“Ed, take the sword and drive it through the ice. I got your back.” Taking my hand, we jumped over a small stone wall and ran to where she was.
Holding the sword in both hands, Edmund tried to drive it through the ice.
“Crystal, it won’t go in! What do I do?” Taking my small, cold hands, I placed them over his. In an instant, the ice shattered, falling to the ground.
I shielded my face from the ice, and wondered how the heck so much could happen in one day.
“I know. You had it sorted.” Edmund muttered to the blonde haired boy as he took my elbow and followed a dark haired girl.
“Susan!” He called out to her. She quickly turned at his voice.
“Edmund!” She cried, running into his opened arms.
“We thought you were dead!” Tears were streaming down her fair face.
“How did you escape?” She held him tight. I guess you could say I felt a slight twinge of jealousy.
“It was all Crystal. She rescued me. It’s such a long story. Where is Lucy? I don’t want to tell it twice.” He grasped my hand and I felt slightly confused.
“This is Crystal.” He was smiling that melt of a smile.
“Welcome to the family!” She seemed, pulling me into a hug. “Thank you for saving my little bro.” At this I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding.
“Don’t forget Caspian, Ed, I’m sure he will want to hear your tales and meet Crystal.” When Susan said this, I felt Edmund tighten his grip around my hand.
“Edmund?” A small voice called hopefully. At this, we both turned.
“Lucy!” Edmund smiled as she happily ran to him. Picking her up, he twirled her around.
“Oh how I missed you!” She laughed. I could see this was a tight nit family.
“Edmund? Who is this? What beautiful hair she has.”
Behind her was the blonde boy and  a boy with dark, kinda long hair.
“Don’t tell me you were saved by a girl, Ed.”
“Guys, let Edmund introduce her and us, or we’ll never know who she is.”
“Well, this is Crystal, the girl that helped me escape from Jadis’ castle.”
“Hi.” I blushed, and gave them a wave. What was wrong with me? Nobody had ever made me blush before.
“Crystal, this is my older brother, Peter.” He motioned to the blonde one.
“My older sister, who you met, my younger sister Lucy and Prince Caspian the heir to the throne.” He smiled at me.
“But who is she really? How could she break the ice when you couldn’t and how could you rescue Edmund?” Lucy asked, still trying to piece together my complicated puzzle of a life.
“I am the only daughter of Jadis, hence why I’m wearing this rotten dress, the reason I’m always cold and why I could defeat her. I have powerful magic. But it’s for the Good. I’m here to help you all.”
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
As I lay in my bed that night, I couldn’t help but think about Edmund. I was really falling for him. I’d never been in love before-my mother forbad it. It was all a new feeling for me.
Then I began to think about what my mother did to him. How could he fancy me?
Making an effort to stay quiet and not wake Susan and Lucy, I hopped out of bed and slipped to the ledge that hung over the entrance of the How.
I guess I always knew, nobody could love me. Being the daughter of Jadis would forever be a curse over my head. Why did it have to be me.
“Crystal? Is that you?” My head turned abruptly to face the dark-haired boy.
“Oh, Edmund. It’s you.” I sighed in relief. I don’t know what I would do if it was Caspian.
“Of course, who has the same handsome voice as me?”
“Don’t flatter yourself.” I softly laughed.
“Why are you out here at this time of night?” “I could ask you the same.” I didn’t know why I was being short with him, my mood changes so fast. He had only been nice to me.
“Sorry I’m being snappy, I was just thinking about my future, that’s all.”
“But you’ll stay with us won’t you?” Edmund asked, sitting down next to me.  “We could sure use your help.”
“I don’t belong here. I can sense that Peter finds me a threat and all Caspian does is check me out. It unnerves me.”
“Peter just feels the need to protect you and he’s getting used to that, but I know you can look after yourself.” Ed grinned at me as my heart fluttered inside.
“As for Caspian, he probably hasn’t laid eyes on a girl as beautiful as you.” My face turned a dreadful shade of red and he covered his mouth.
“I..I mean..” Edmund stuttering? Never.
“It’s alright, friends give compliments.”
“Yes. Friends.” He said quietly. I just rested my head on his shoulder and drifted off to sleep.
When it was Peter’s turn to take watch, he was met by Edmund and I in a tangle of limbs.
We were partially awake, and shot away from each other.
“It’s not what it looks like Pete!” I shook my head in confirmation.
“I’m sure it’s not.” Peter smirked.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
“You’re lucky you know. To have seen Him.” I was going to sit at the Stone Table, but Peter and Lucy sounded like they were deep in conversation.
“Crystal?” I turned to face Edmund.
“I was going to talk with Peter…” Was that jealousy? “But he’s kinda busy. What’s wrong?” The look on his face was one of worry and slight anger. I reached out and took his hand. His face relaxed at my touch.
“They’re here.”
“What?” I whispered. “So soon?”
“It would seem that your mother has joined forces with Miraz.” I gasped in alarm and fear.
“Come. We have to tell Peter.” He squeezed my hand reassuringly and led me towards his brother.
“Maybe, we’re the ones that need to prove ourselves to Him.” I heard Lucy wisely tell her older brother.
“Pete, you’d better come quickly.” Lucy eyed our intwined hands and gave me a knowing smile. I just blushed-something I seemed to be doing a lot lately. She was way to wise for her age.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
“We have to hold them off until Lucy and Susan get back.”
“If I may,” Caspian rose to Peter, glancing in my direction in the process. Edmund saw this and  growled.
“Miraz may be a tyrant and a murderer, but as king he is subject to the traditions and expectations of his people. There is one in particular that may buy us some time.”
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
“I, Peter, by the gift of Aslan, by election and by conquest, High King of Narnia, Lord of Cair Paravel, and Emperor of the Lone Islands, in order to prevent the abominable effusion of blood, do hereby challenge the usurper Miraz to single combat upon the field of battle. The fight shall be to the death. The reward shall be total surrender.”
“Tell me Prince Edmund,”
“King.” I shot at Miraz, like messing up an important title was a normal thing to do.
“Pardon me?”
“It’s King Edmund actually, just king though, Peter’s the High King.” Edmund continued, casually as I looked on trying to stifle my laughter at the row of shocked and confused Nobles and Lords.
“I know, it’s confusing.”
Edmund really did have a way with words that got me laughing.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
“I’m glad I came back.” I heard Susan say to Caspian. I just tuned out. I began to shut my senses down as I pleadingly looked at Aslan.
No one had warned me. They were all leaving. They were like family to me. Real family, now that my mother was gone. Not that she treated me like family.
I hadn’t even voiced my feelings for Edmund. I mentally face palmed and inwardly groaned.
I was so wrapped up in my own thoughts, that I didn’t notice Edmund trying to get my attention.
“Earth to Crystal.” He naturally smirked at my startled face.
“So…so…sorry” I stuttered “I was deep in thought, that’s all.”
“So I saw. You were frowning pretty bad. I thought you might be stuck like that.” I laughed softly at his attempt to lighten the mood.
“Ed?” I asked, hoping to get up the courage to ask him what he thought of me.
“Are you sad to leave?”
“No, I think I’m ready to go home, but I am sad to leave you.”
“Why would you be sad to leave me? How could you be? I’m half witch, Edmund. Witch that tried to kill you. I was born evil. There’s no escaping it.” I now had my face buried in my hands.I was always good at making a spectacle of myself, even with nobody watching.
Small drops of rain began to fall as I cried.
“Hey, hey, you know that’s not true. You know I would never think of you like that. You’re more than a friend to me. I…I love you Crystal.” He whispered, cupping my face and wiping my tears away as the sun began to return. My blue eyes melted from their icy state.
“You…you do? You really do?” I could see in his eyes he wasn’t lying.
“I do. Very much, and it pains me to leave you. To come back and find you with someone else.”
“No. Either I have you, or I die unmarried.” He laughed softly.
“So you’ll wait for me?”
“I will. I promise, with all my heart.” He then leaned down and sealed my lips with his own. The moment I dreamed of for so long, was happening.
“Nothing will ever come between us. Nothing.”
“I’m sure when I’m older, I’ll understand.” Lucy grimaced, watching us.
I leaned up and kissed Edmund again. Probably my last for a long time.
“Crystal.” Aslan’s deep voice called to me. I grasped Edmund’s hand and turned to face Him.
“My Child. Now is the time I must reveal your true past.”
“What do you mean?” I timidly asked.
“You are not the daughter of Jadis nor are you part witch. When Jadis invaded Earth, she took you because she knew you were special. By stealing you, she erased your history on Earth. By having you, she was more powerful and stayed younger. She lied about your past and gave you potions to keep you young. The powers you have, were given by Me. You are fully human.
“It can’t be?” I shockingly looked at all the Pevensies and we were all sharing the same look.
“How did I not meet the Pevensies before? When they first came to Narnia? When Edmund was in my mothers possession?”
“In fear, Jadis put you into hibernation to keep you hidden.”
“Where is my true home. My parents on Earth don’t remember me, do they?”
“No, they do not remember you. Your home can be wherever you wish it to be. If you chose to go with Edmund, I will make sure you are provided for and that you have a family. If you stay here, Caspian will look after you.” With no hesitation I gave my answer.
“I will go back to Earth with the Pevensies.” I looked to Caspian and he smiled and nodded.
“Aslan, thank you so much for everything.” I bowed to Him and He smiled.
“It is time.” He nodded to all of us.
Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy and I walked through the Door in the Air and into a place that looked somewhat familiar.
Lucy turned and looked back, as did I. As I gave her a hug I told myself No Regrets.
“Arn’t you coming, Phyllis?” We all looked at each other in confusion, but boarded the train.
Edmund began to look through his bag, then groaned.
“What is it?” I asked, while I slipped my arm through his.
“Do you think there’s a way to get back?”
“What?” He earned confused looks from us all.
“I left my new torch in Narnia!”
