For Lasting Change – We Need God’s Power
I was reading in the Book of Romans yesterday and was surprised by the words written by the Apostle Paul. I stopped in my tracks when I read about his problem with sin. WHAT? How could that be coming from one who wrote about our abilities to conquer whatever is conquering over us. Honestly, I have probably read the words – but my brain must not have been engaged! Romans 7:21-25 – “Although I…

How Exactly Jesus is the Answer to Every Problem
How Exactly Jesus is the Answer to Every Problem
What is the meaning of life? How do we cure all these diseases? Is lasting peace possible?  Who am I supposed to marry?
All these questions plus countless more  have lingered and ruminated in the human mind throughout the centuries. As a fan of science fiction and humor, I am reminded of the classic quip from Douglas Adam’s in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Asked about the meaning of life…

I’ve realized that my solution for all of life’s problems is to just make everything about trees.
Primarily in an academic context, initially. I need a class to take? I’ll take the one about trees. Essays? Last term I went to my Pacific Northwest History professor and said, “So, I want to write my term paper about trees.” And then I did. Just today my Latin professor said we should start writing a proposal for this term’s essay, and I said, “I don’t have all the details yet, but I’m just going to warn you now that it’ll probably be about trees.” (Even better, she responded that there’s an article talking about plants in Horace’s Odes which sounds fascinating, so I’m even more excited.)
But this also works well everywhere else. I’m meeting a couple people from out of town, but we’re waiting on one more person? Okay, I’m going to show you around campus and give you the names of all the trees I know when we see them. I need a character for a game? She loves trees even more than I do. Perfect.
Trees, man. They’re the answer to everything.

Forty More Days of Easter
HOLD IT! We’re not done yet! I took the bunnies and Easter eggs down from my front door’s vignettes, but the cross still hangs along with Springtime decor’. I am still reminded that there were 40 days before Christ’s ascension. The Easter season (the resurrection of our Lord and His time on earth before ascending to heaven) is still going on. That was 40 days He was “in and out” of places and…

42: The Universe and Everything
42: The Universe and Everything
Boredom at work has driven me to the farthest reaches of all the YouTube videos of which I could possibly be interested in. Recently, I’ve been watching a lot of science videos, including statistical scenarios, biological explanations, and, of course, time, space, and the universe. And all this physics got me thinking… The universe doesn’t follow the laws of physics, we created the laws of…

What if
The universe is a lie? It’s non existent, nothing but a dream. And when the body you occupy dies for some odd reason. You wake up into another dream memories lost of the last dream you had. (Thus comes past lives where a select few actually remember) I mean think about part of your life is pretty much blackness until you’re three years or four. What did Inception say about dreaming? Oh yeah. How did we get here? It only makes sense, since the answer to life is 42.

He's the Answer to Everything
He’s the Answer to Everything
Maybe you’re thinking “Donna sure loves Easter because she keeps talking about it”. If you thought that, then you’re right! I can’t leave Easter alone – it’s the reason for everything we hold dear in our lives. And, besides, Easter isn’t over anyway. We’re not done yet! The Easter season (the resurrection of our Lord and His time on earth before ascending to heaven) continues for 40 days AFTER…
