watched oppenheimer today so i was going through the tag on tumblr, as one does, and i came across this one person who was talking about something else entirely (idk why it was tagged as oppenheimer but they belong to a category of people known for mistagging if that helps) and they were sort of making predictions for this year and one of those was "jared will say a slur" and i am just. so fucking tired. i blocked them, but it fucking irked me that so many people that don't even watch spn have this idea and like. idk how many people will read this or care but i feel the need to clarify so:

jared padalecki is not homophobic. he campaigns for outyouth in austin regularly and donates to them. he has been nothing but supportive towards lgbtqia fans, and supports their headcanons about sam being any flavor of queer.

jared padalecki is not racist either and there is no proof of him being so

the reason people say this shit so often it fucking broke containment and became a mainstream opinion is this:

he's very close friends with jensen ackles and has been since 2005

this also upset some fans

like that's literally it. and yet people make noises about how awful he is, how he's the worst, how his friendship with jensen is just PR, how sam is the reason destiel didn't happen, and so on and so forth. meanwhile he has been nothing but kind to every single fan he's ever met, and even numerous people who talk shit about him on twt all day have admitted this after meeting him. he is consistently said to be the nicest person at cons, more than his costars, and incredibly supportive of all of fans' headcanons and ideas. it's exhausting as fuck just minding my business on some other corner of tumblr and seeing this shit about him. and of course it's never tagged properly either lmao. like it's been three fucking years, i'm sorry y'alls ship was done dirty (and i sympathize, i really do!) but insulting an actor that had nothing to do with it is childish and juvenile. he's literally had to increase his security at cons over his from what i've heard, and even THAT hasn't stopped him from being so utterly kind and lovely. get the fuck over yourselves.

Recent con has made it clear as to why Jared would get depressed time and time again when he was doing SPN? And why is he in a far better mood when he was with Walker?

Imagine getting slighted and dissed at an event that was started because of you. You are looked down upon by colleagues whom you helped and advice to be part of this circuit. They don't even care for you and make fun of your expense, and you don't have any choice but to endure. Becoz lashing or saying anything will only hurt your image and will make you look like an asshole.

If this isn't enough, the same behavior is carried on to your work. People have realised that you won't do much about it, so the ill treatment continues at work. What makes it worse is that you have to not only act brotherly towards the guy who was the reason behind the ill-treament to maintain the facade but also stroke his ego and praise him for everything.

You will let it go at first, and you might take in a stride, but as it continues, it starts gnawing at you. Slowly, it starts chipping at you, making you sad and slowly you become disinterested in the work you used to like the most.

You could see this happening with Jared. There was a huge difference between Jared that was in the earlier panels vs. Jared that was in the panel towards the end of SPN. You could see how Jensen and fans' constant dissing and ridiculing made Jared vary. What made me angry was how Jensen and Co was trying to ridicule Jared about dad jokes simply because those are the ones that connect him the most with the audience. The entire drum roll beat is the most ridiculous thing of cons.

It is totally understandable why Jared said that Walker reignited his love for acting. Imagine how ugly it must have been for Jared that he stop loving the craft he once loved the most

I usually stay far away from Twitter and fandom drama and I don't follow fandom groups but given the dehumanizing posts I've been seeing online, I am going on a fairly long rant, this is just my view, of course, so please discard it if not relevant to you:

The people making posts like these:

are at the core of the bully mentality. You are dehumanizing a Human Being with the entitlement that you get to define how a negative experience affects them. You do not, in any universe, get to tell someone who has been affected by something at what level they have been affected. Simply because you are not them. Furthermore, you are biased and discriminating against Jared Padalecki because he is a celebrity. Jared is a human being first and foremost and, as we've seen in the past, he does do social listening. This means death threats and other cyber crimes do affect him, not to mention the very real stalking some of you do when he moves from country to country. You end up following him under his hotel or even worse situations.

This discussion happening within fandom should include him because he is a direct victim. Also, the intent to commit cyber crimes and sending death threats does not get cancelled out just because that person may or may not have read the thread/post. Do you get this? Do you understand that if your intention and energy is vile, whether the content reaches your target or not, your cyber crime is still in effect? "Jared is a big boy and he doesn't care". Really? In what universe would you be okay with receiving death threats, would your family love that for you? Oh, they would not? So why on earth would you say it is alright that Jared received death threats? Fans do affect an actor's psyche, actors live to bring you joy and when they see you go toxic and dangerous it does affect their psyche.

Aside from this, as mentioned earlier, some of you actually stalk him at cons and at different locations and do so with hateful intent. The gravity of your actions is what causes actors to hide in public, avoid open spaces, reinforce their security, have panic attacks and fear for their life. Yet here you are, online, claiming that it's all good because said person is a celebrity so who cares.

If you dislike Jared, that's a matter of taste and your business but if you dehumanize Jared to the point of denying the very real atrocious actions perpetuated towards him, then you are no different than the perpetrators. You are, in fact, the enablers so you are even worse. A bad intention or idea cannot form into action unless people enable it and you played a key part with your bias and lack of care.

Think of all that evil hitting your child or loved one or even yourself, is it still nothing now? Do you see how wrong it is to minimize the abuse people perpetuate? Jared is a kind human being, so he avoids getting into drama as much as he can but that doesn't mean he is not affected. Also, someone not being affected is never, ever, an excuse to abuse said person. It's pretty interesting how someone suddenly doesn't count as human in your eyes. Talking about the abuse Jared gets in no way takes away from the other victims, in fact, it provides evidence of the intent and maliciousness of the people who attacked those victims. So it is highly important to consider as well as discuss. If you actually care about the topic at hand and the people involved that is. If you actually cared about shifting paradigms and improving fandom experience.

Lastly, Jared does deserve an apology too, the behavior displayed towards him is inhuman, degrading and damaging. He's no different than all the other persons at the receiving end of atrocious behaviors. The fact that you cannot comprehend that shows you lack humanity and empathy. If this was you or a friend at the receiving end, you would do the right thing but because you resent Jared, you are trying to twist an important discussion to damage him further. Jared doesn't know you and never did anything against you yet you feel entitled to dehumanizing him.

Then there's this: The people who perpetuated these behaviors displayed them publicly as well, especially towards him, thus providing a horrible example for others to follow. If you really cared about resolving bullying you would know those were seriously damaging paradigms being disseminated online and encouraged. Those people felt entitled to tell others to end their existence and the reason this happened was because you chose to ignore it thinking "people are grown ups and they can defend themselves" and "that's a celebrity, I don't care". So you saw the very clear signs but ignored or encouraged. You enabled. Now you are trying to create drama centered on one of the victims instead of owning your part in all of that and working on ways to create healthier fandom experiences.

Let's look at this one:

"We can attack Jared haters(or Misha haters or Jensen haters) on any other day of the week" Not only is this person directly admitting to being no different than those perpetrators, she is actually saying that attacking is what they do on a daily basis. Is that supposed to be the normal response? To attack? So bullying is the solution to bullying? Since when? Since when has mobbing people become the norm? Behaviors can be addressed without even remotely attacking someone. If you've created vicious cycles where you gang up on each other then that's only going in one direction, the same one those cult girls had.

My point is, please gain awareness and focus on creating healthy paradigms rather than on victim shaming/blaming, attacking whoever you disapprove of (same pattern those cult girls had, silo mentality and one sided views) and stop enabling the people who created such a negative impact within fandom by allowing them to display disempowering behaviors. Stop feeding into negative patterns and starts building healthy ones. Change starts with you and, whether you are aware of it or not, your choices affect others.

It is truly heartbreaking how people can twist their love for a show into hating actors and other people instead of using that passion to connect with like minded souls and create beautiful experiences together.

the problem in the majority of destiel conversations is the weaponization of lgbtqia. It’s a well-known fact (I thought) that the majority of shippers for any given m/m ship are straight women. Destiel isn’t about queer representation. I cried when I realized that Castiel’s so well written asexuality was destroyed to make room for another fetish ship. It was so well written…his reaction to having sex for the first time…his interactions with Meg where he tries to copy what he saw in the porno…his confusion when Hannah took off her clothes in front of him…that was queer representation. That was beautiful, multi-layered, accurate asexuality. But because we’re in a culture obsessed with sex, no, he had to want to get in on with another man, because that’s what everyone wants to see. Straight women push these ships. They created Omegaverse BECAUSE IT RELIES ON THE FEMINIZATION OF MEN TO RATIONALIZE THE ATTRACTION BETWEEN THEM. DO YOU NOT SEE HOW INVALIDATING THAT IS TO LEGITIMATE GAY RELATIONSHIPS. im sorry I have strong feelings about omegaverse.

Pushing Destiel by claiming representation is a horrible thing to do if you’re truly an ally. It erases already established queer representation for the most popular thing in all of lgbtqia. It is a creepy fetish being pushed by straight women who want to see two men get it on, just like Stucky or everything else hellers across all fandoms throw fits about while ignoring the characters they should really care about if they truly want to see equality. Stop using lgbtqia and calling people homophobic to push your stupid fetish. It’s not an weapon. And it obviously has nothing to do with chemistry or even romantic subtext, it’s just the safer m/m ship in the fandom, so it’s the one people latched onto.

Every time you post negatively about something you think one of them did wrong, the other side will come back with replies showing how your fave did the SAME THING.

Hateful rhetoric against Jared

The dehumanising of Jared in this fandom is really painful. It doesn't really let you have a sense of peace and enjoy things even this week when all you want to do is celebrate him. I know it comes from a malicious place of bullying. There are only so many people with harmful narratives that you can fight.

Someone like Destiny linking the school shooting in Texas is just what broke my back today..I mean is there an end to their ugliness..she has picked someone talking about Jensen's selfies or his FBBC post and turned it into a full blown war against Jared.

The fact that someone like Danneel follows this person boggles my mind. How do you do that to a friend and still sleep at night Danneel? You know his kids dammit. Jensen still does cons with him once a month. How???

I often contemplate whether I even want to be here or are there better things to do with my time..Unfortunately the only reason why I don't leave is coz I hate the narratives being spread against Jared n without Jared fans to correct them .....things would be much worse than what they currently are.

i know a lot of it is haha internet humor but it's kinda weird to me how some people are always joking about wanted to see jared murdered or hurt like it's past the point of making fun of the actors and it feels weird to me, do you agree at all?

Obviously I'm a huge fan of Jared. But people's inability to move on from (very minor, in the grand scheme of things) mistakes is honestly horrifying. I'm not even mentioning the lies they completely make up and things they blatantly and knowingly misconstrue.

At the end of the day, it's not even about Jared. It makes you wonder, do these people think these kind of things about people in their own lives? Do they "jokingly" say that coworkers they don't like should die? Do they think people with past mental health issues don't deserve to move on and become healthy?

Part II

I am back to answer the rest of the two questions related to Jensen and the prequel gate...

About my views on Jensen... Early on, especially when I started following con panels and attended two myself. I became Jared girl, Jensen, for me, was an accessory. He was just like any actor, nothing special. When I met him, I knew instantly that though it is an informal event, it is all business for him. Now, it wouldn't have meant much because I am used to actors' behavior, but for me, the behavior stood out coz I had just met Jared, who was the big ball of energy. So meeting Jensen immediately after Jared was like someone sucked the energy out. This is exactly why, for the next day, I kept Jared at the last because I wanted to end my day with the positivity.

So I didn't mind Jensen as he didn't come across as rude or insulting like Misha, nor was he amiable like Jared. He was just like any actor.

For me, the first red flag came during AKF and YANA debacle, which is when I realised that Jensen is not how he appears to be. He is very calculative and shrewd. He supported YANA despite knowing it was a blatant copy for AKF. Still, I said fine you launch YANA. There is no copyright on supporting MH more the support better it is. BUt, Misha and Jensen were totally insincere with the campaign. They didn't take efforts to understand the gravity of the situation nor gave any thoughts on how the campaign was being presented. It was clear that YANA was nothing but a money minting project for M, Jensen, and CW. The worst was when the campaign failed, Jensen bailed, leaving Misha alone to take the fall. He didn't have balls to stand up for the project that was supposedly important to him. The moment it failed, he went. Nope, I wasn't interested in it, I just did it to help M. Everything was M's idea.

Since then, I started doubting Jensen intentions and didn't believe a word he said. I realise that he is opportunist. The moment he sees profit into something, he latches to it. Not only that, but even in terms of putting effort, he does the bare minimum, but when it comes to appreciation, he is first to take credit.

My doubts were confirmed with Prequelgate. At first, the sheer unprofessionalism was appalling, but I thought there might be some miscalculation. He won't stan Jared immediately after the end of the show. But that illusion broke when Kripke tweeted, apologizing Jared and stating that he assumed Jensen must have informed Jared. It proved that whatever Jensen did was intentional. He always wanted to own the SPN brand. I think somewhere it always hurt Jensen that despite being senior in the craft, it was Jared, a conparatively young actor who got the lead. Jared was always in the forefront when it came to media attention. If you have time, then just compare the kind of media that gave coverage to Jared and Jensen and the amount of time they do it, at least during SPN. Jared, with his extrovert attitude, is mainstream media fave. So I feel it was deliberate. He was to slyly make the brand for himself, and he knew he would lose Jared's fan if he told the truth. So he lied about Jared. When he was called out, like a coward, he once again ran and hid.

What is the worst was the MR podcast that showed the world hus true face. Instead of apologizing, he tried to shift the blame on Jared. Which was the dick move and then his constant lying and changing the reason as to why he didn't inform Jared. It was when I lost all the respect for him. In fact, according to me, at that point, he seemed worse than Musha. With Misha, we knew what to expect, but Jensen pretended to be a friend/brother and then backstabbed the said brother. Such people are the worst.

Post prequelgate, Jensen behavior came to light. Things that were ignored becoz his association with Jared came to like. It became quiet telling how Jensen never supported Jared. How he never asked his fans not to hate on Jared PS, immediately after prequelgat Jared actually asked fans not to hate Jensen. Jensen never extended the same courtesy. In fact, he piled on to the hate by making sparky comments. He would always diss Jared. How he never took ant effort to make Jared feel special, not even during his birthday. How he always used Jared and then dissed him from everything . How he would steal Jared's jokes and ideas and pass it as his own.

Infact, now when I look back I feel Jensen always tried to one up Jared. See, everything that he has done it is immediately after Jared. Jared shifted to Austin and bought a house with open field and stuff, Jensen immediately shifted to Austin and bought the house at the lake front. Jared entered pub business with San Jac salon and curated an alcohol with Stephen, Jensen started FBBC. PS: Jensen had zero idea about beer , nor did he bother to learn about it. Unlike Jared, who studied the entire market. Gen started her influencer journey, Dannel tried to copy it and, when she failed, resorted to dissing Gen like a child. Jared and Gen got into production, and so did Jensen and D. He has always copied Jared. Even now, Jensen is trying to copy Jared's long hair look. Over the year, he has seen how Jared long hair look has been appreciated, so he is now trying to copy it. He couldn't do it earlier because producers and directors didn't allow him to. Now we know why they did, Jensen looks like cheap motel pimp.
