I hope VA's go on strike next year and all this shit gets taken down and deleted from the database, also for the VA's and companies to sue the people making and advertising the voice stealing programs cause I've literally seen ones saying "take anyone's voice" that is so creepy

The companies may not care about the VAs themselves but they care about their copyrighted characters and the voices are part of a character so there's at least that

Just making a general post real quick in response to an ask.

When I say I'm anti-ai I mean I'm against any sort of AI that steals from others or would otherwise be used to put people out of a job. I don't feel like having an elaborate conversation about the positives and negatives of AI and all that, so I'll state this as plainly as possible.

I don't like AI art. I don't like AI voice impersonations. I don't like any sort of AI that has to steal stuff from people without their consent in order to function. That is literally it.

I'm not against ALL AI. I don't think people that are okay with AI in general should be burned at the stake or something. I'm just an artist and writer that doesn't like AI being used in CREATIVE SPACES. That's it.

I didn't think I would have to clarify this but, here you go, for anyone that was bothered.

You know, when this whole AI art, deepfakes and other shit began, I was scared that the responsibility of convincing people that it can and will be used unethically would fall on the shoulders of small artists who would not be taken seriously. I expected change in the art world to be a slow, creeping transition into inevitable demise.

What I did not expect was hollywood studio execs doing that job for us by being so cartoonishly evil, impatient and releasing statements like "We're gonna starve you until you agree to work with us lol" and "We're gonna take your likeness and use it forever. You will be paid with jack and shit."

I also did not expect AI bros doing the same job for us by harassing a voice actor off of twitter.

Reminder: You can't claim to support artists, writers, voice actors, and more against AI and then still uncritically share AI-generated Art because it's "funny" and "just a joke".

Reblogging AI generated content uncritically "because it's funny" is how AI generated content is going to be normalized.

If you support artists and writers and actors and voice actors not losing their livelihoods to AI, that means you need to reject AI-generated art *everywhere*.

Square Enix is literally already using AI art generators in their latest game by their own admission to try to test the waters and "boil the frog" as the expression goes -- starting out using AI for small, "inconsequential" things, then slowly increasing what they use AI for until in just a year or two, entire games will be voice acted by AI, using designs generated by AI, and more.

Had to delete a reblog from the queue because it turned out it was ai-voiced.

Friendly reminder that multiple voice actors have spoken out against feeding their voices into ai and stealing their character voices. Unless you have explicit permission from a VA, you should not be making ai-voiced anything with their characters.

If you wanna make fan-content, but can’t do voices, yourself, then get together with other fans or commission somebody. Or write the script and post it unvoiced.

There is no reason to do this.
