realtalk about casting: annabeth mattered SO. MUCH. to me as a kid, and that was when I only identified with her as another bright, fiesty, amibitious girl with ADHD (something that manifests differently for us with our gender and how we present in things like our interests, school, etc). and to see her now as an actual adult in architecture school (still with ADHD in an ableist af industry) and realizing that the discrimination she'd face as a woc resembles mine so much more now... that's so powerful and it's such a gift, and I hope kids like me are watching too

Why can't we have a batman is the spirit of Gotham au?

He already is, in meta, in character, in theming. Him and the joker. He is so very built upon what Gotham is made of, and Gotham builds from what he needs in turn, the setting of his story.

What if that is the reason he can take damage that would permanently ruin a physical career and come back? What if that's how he's managed to maintain his no-kill streak to such an extent? What if that's how he manages to maintain such high maintenance and all consuming identities?

For the heart and soul of a city containing all extremes, the richest nobility and the lowest of the poor, the cruellest villains and the most compassionate heroes, orphaned children and ancient lineages, a city rooted in fear and madness and grit-teeth determination and hard won kindness, what better choice could you find than Bruce Wayne?

But what if he wasn't alone in that? What if Gotham has sunk to such a low because its spirit is damaged and corrupted?

For the heart and soul of the cruellest city in the dc universe, the most unrelenting and uncaring, the one that practically laughs at your pain and suffering as you try to make it through another day, what better choice than the Joker?

Joey Drew Archive 4/4

We finally have the date when Arch Gate bought Bendy IP: 1972. This would be around the time when Audrey got employed and sucked inside the inky world. To recap: Henry visited Joey in 1963, 9 years prior. Meaning that Audrey could very well have been the girl whose voice we hear at the end of BATIM, now all grown up!

The article also confirms what we’ve long suspected: Joey Drew is dead!

Curiously, it states here that Arch Gate Pictures was formed after Nathan bought Bendy IP. This could only mean two things:

The Arch Gate studio, which employed Allison at the end of BATIM, belonged to Nathan’s son, Nate Arch Jr, not to Nathan himself, and for some reason Nathan took over his son’s studio around the time when the steel industry experienced a crisis (if you look at my “dreamfisher certified” tag, you’ll find a post where I go into details about this theory, the hints about we’ve been given so far, and what it could mean for Nathan’s relationship with his son that I hope to see explored in BATDR).

Joey was exchanging letters with Allison from the future

Both are not impossible, though I’m personally more inclined to think it’s the former. This is important, because Nathan and his son share the same first and last name, which means that not every reference to “Nathan Arch” that we’ll see in the game will be about the same person. We’ll have to be very careful to distinguish which Nathan did what. For all we know, they might have a vastly different personality.

You know, once all of them are complete, (which will likely take god knows how many years), I’d be curious to see some kind of poll to judge which Echo Project protagonist most fans like the most.

Whether it’s Chase’s grapples with his psyche, Marco’s struggle for agency in a strange new place, Samuel slowly learning to trust again, Cameron confronting his inner demons, Scipio navigating both interplanetary relations and his own past, Alex taking a once in a lifetime shot and finding his self worth, or Danny beginning to reach out to other people after so long, I find all of them pretty compelling in one way or another.

These VNs have consistently impressed me with how they buck the trend of blank slate VN protagonist and strive to give their point of view characters plenty of development. And considering some of them have had a little more than an alpha build’s worth of screentime, that makes their strong first impressions even more impressive. But I do wonder which one people tend to consider their favourite. Though in a lot of their stories it’s far too soon to make a fair judgment at present. Still, it’s an aspect of their works that has consistently impressed me which I’d like to see discussed more.
