A little late to mention - I had the pleasure to do a Background art for the Hunicast stream! Thanks so much @ashleynicholsart for having me to do this, and welcome back Hunicast!!
Bonus:
the Glock was originally in the BG but had to be removed in the end for obvious reason lol
...You know what? Screw it. Things have changed, circumstances have changed, time for one of those secrets I've been sitting on for a while.
Here's the SparkNotes version of what happened with Ashley, as I was told.
Vivzie discovered something extremely personal about Ashley. No, it's nothing bad, it's actually the furthest thing from bad, but it's a big deal to Ashley, which is why I won't be repeating it here. Point is, Vivzie found out about it.
Vivzie started saying incredibly disgusting, awful things about Ashley's personal thing behind Ashley's back.
Ashley found out, Vivzie denied it at first, but eventually confessed, and the two cut contact.
Ashley had also started to work on Far Fetched and apparently Vivzie made no secret of how much she hated this.
No, this didn't come from a 4chan anon or any kind of anon. People just tell me stuff, and this one thing, I'm telling you.
So that's the summary of what happened. That's why.
In light of recent happenings around indie animation sphere and the popularity of The Amazing Digital Circus I wanted to showcase some more incredible indie projects being made! These are my top 3 projects I'm most excited about that you should go support!
Monkey Wrench (@monkey-wrench-zeurel) by Joshua and Ashley Palmer
Monkey Wrench is an action comedy about space, guns and wacky aliens! It features some incredible character design, great humor and that unique flair that Josh (@Zeurel on Youtube and Twitter) always brings to any project he touches. Watch the first episode here and check out his other animations on his Youtube channel!
Far-Fetched by Ashley Nichols and Dave Capdevielle (@ashleynicholsart and @DaveCapdevielle on Twitter).
A late 2000s rock band dealing with the supernatural! Far-Fetched features some great character design, amazing music and top notch voice acting that you can hear in the official teaser! The band Sesamoid's song Adventricular gives me that good nostalgia and is legit a great song. (The pilot also has J. Michael Tatum so *EYES EMOJI*)
ENA: Dream BBQ by Joel Guerra (@JoelGuerraC on Twitter)
The next installment in Joel G's ENA series! Originally a collection of animated shorts on Youtube, ENA is making the jump to a fully playable adventure through their strange mixed media world, a combination of 90s Microsoft aesthetic with wacky/unsettling surrealism. ENA features voice actors of all different languages and is truly the most unique project I've ever seen. Watch the trailer here or see the latest episode here!
Can't wait for this show to come out, and so soon! The style kinda reminds me of Security Breach X Windows 4 wallpaper (obviously with a lot of Goose's signature style). I also love the idea that Ashley's character is constantly trying to kill Michael's.
Also, here's every shot of Gangle because she is precious.
(This was sent by someone who was actually in Vivziepop’s server. Can’t send the full screenshot because I don’t want to leak the usernames of people who don’t deserve to be in this post or mentioned here.)
Wow, if this isn’t some of the biggest pieces of hypocrisy from this fandom, I don’t know what is. Also to quote my friend on this:
“Hunter and the stans legit went “it’s not a contest!” whenever other shows were seen as better and got more attention but suddenly the others outright “don’t deserve” whenever Vivziepop is praised? Talk about disgusting. 😬”
Also, I guess to Vivziepop giving credit and supportng artists “only” matters to her when it’s someone who praises her...
Otherwise… she didn’t give them credit!
The fact that they couldn’t edit the credits isn’t an excuse. This kind of situation has only happened to people who outwardly spoke out about their treatment within Spindlehorse! As mentioned last year: Cas wanted to be paid, but only didn’t after they spoke out. (Mentioned in the video posted down below.) -and now, after speaking out, Squidder wasn’t credited for their work on the “Oops!” episode of Helluva Boss.
If Vivziepop actually cared about her studio, making sure that everyone is paid well, not just her mutuals, and that EVERYONE GETS CREDIT should be top priority. The fact that the only people who outright did not get paid or credited for their art for Vivziepop are people who spoke out about Vivienne’s behavior (Squidder and Cas, please do not harass anyone mentioned in this post.) is an actually horrible situation. This can’t be described as a “coisidence” anymore. People need to learn that you can enjoy something without tolerating all the bad behavior and hypocrisies from a creator. It doesn’t matter if you like someone’s art.
I’m so proud of Ashley. She seems to be really thriving, and I can’t wait for Far-fetched. She has a lot of projects she’s working really hard on, Hunicast is either back or coming back, and she’s also beginning to establish herself as a voice actor.
Her new banner made me aware of how hard she is working and how far she (and Michael!) have come since working for Viv. It just makes me happy to see people I look up to artistically doing well and establishing themselves. It’s nice.
Hard seconded. Ashley's got her issues, everyone does, but she's worked damn hard and earned the success she's finally begun to enjoy.
