so a new yearly adventure 'bout to drop and half of the players are already simping for ithelia while another half is grieving her boring design. me? i'm more interested in the fact that zenimax gave us a lore-friendly way to make our own dardric prince ocs and uuuh lemme just grab a sketchbook real quick and cook up an opposite to mepahala and probably/possibly her twin whose sphere are energies of the afterlife, death and being the shepherd of the undead and the restless dead 👀 and maybe a babygirl of a dardric prince who is the opposite of hircine and oversees the wild beauty of natural world, shapeshifers, sentient trees and talking animals, and mysteries of wild magic and secrets of the untouched wilderness, who has the bottom half of a deer whereas hircine has a head of an elk🦌 ooh! maybe even some opposite to namira whose domain is beauty, poetry and all that is aesthetically pleasing and dreamy and nice who may look like one of those fairies with butterfly wings all over them 🧚‍♀️

anyways, feck the lore, i'm here to 100% milk herma mora's ability to just "conveniently hide" entire dardric princes outside of reality thus making any and all stupid little dardric blorbo ocs we make "technically lore-friendly"

Lucien: do Ayleids have any courting habits?

Aurorwren: hm, a few but it varies from city to city. We’re quite big on ornamentation though. The more feathers a male has the more chance of luring in a mate. If you were blessed enough to be born with them on your back or lucky to have a full set of wings like myself chances are your family would hire a match maker/body guard to keep you safe from potential mates quite literally throwing themselves at you. It’s much the same with females but for them the more blue you displayed, be it feathers, clothing, jewellery, or even varla stones, the higher chances of you luring in a promising mate.

Lucien: interesting! I take it you were quite sort after then?

Aurorwren: *ruffles his feathers from his back all the way up to the ones in his hair* indeed. Not to brag, but while we were a more well to do family, my father was stingy with money and decided since I already had a tutor I didn’t need a body guard. That was until he witnessed me not only distract an entire troop of guardsmen, but get swarmed by them attempting to show off their assets to me. I’m certain I was missing a few feathers after he pulled me out of there.

Lucien: gods was the competition to reproduce really that fierce?

Aurorwren: this was less about reproducing and more so getting a higher social standing. I’m certain there were some who believed that breeding only feathered with feathered was the way forward for our race but they were also most likely the ones who enjoyed gut gardening… *shudders*

Lucien: I see… well, seeing as you’re the only Ayleid around now, if you were to pick a partner of any race what would you go for?

Aurorwren: hm… Probably, a big orc man.

Lucien: I? Why?

Aurorwren: I told you, I’m into ornamentation. Orcs take a lot of pride in their muscles, the size, sharpness and cleanliness of their tusks, and if they have horns that’s an added bonus. Other elves are just so, plain. And humans are. Well, plain too. I guess nords are rather pretty with their beards and face paint but, yeah, too plain. I couldn’t find myself building a nest with them. Not unless they had a very good personality, sense of humour, strength, or-

Kaidan: *suddenly walks past* right let’s set up camp here- *pauses and smiles at them, red eyes glinting in the sunlight matching his tattoo. Hair just as pretty as his face, armour well tended to as are his weapons, and the crown his mother left him on his brow* How’s about I catch us somethin for dinner after we set up, think you can help me track somethin down birdie?

Aurorwren: … *going bright red, suddenly walks off and starts collecting sticks grass and feathers*

Kaidan: I- or you can? Build a fire?…

Lucien: I… I don’t think it’s a fire he’s wanting to build kai.
