!NEW ARTWORK! The Badb Catha (Battle Crow) is one of three iterations of war goddess collectively known as the Morrigna. The Morrigna are mentioned throughout Irish mythology and are said to foreshadow death and influence fate and the outcome of battles. The Battle Crow in particular is associated with striking fear and confusion in soldiers engaging in battle. The Morrigna are a prominent and terrifying motif in ancient Celtic mythology. Ravens and crows are prevalent throughout many ancient mythologies and are often associated with war, death, and premonition. This common theme across cultures is most likely because of Crows’ propensity for feasting on the dead flesh of fallen soldiers. However, another interesting theory indicates that these birds are so intelligent that they learned to recognize when a battle was about to begin from the formation of troops, etc, and then gather above/near the battlefield seemingly predicting the coming fighting and death. This is what gave them their seemingly prophetic abilities. I’m sorry is this? Is this real? How much worse can this godawful run get???

Yeah, I've kind of... given up on this run, at least until we hit #12 (confirmed to be Lanzing & Kelly's final issue).

I'm annoyed that Billy and Teddy are being pulled into this, I feel like Heather and Phyla make more sense, but of course, they were murdered off panel to give Peter Quill something to angst over for a panel. I don't expect to hear anything of them again.

The Guardians obviously aren't dead, the big "twist" that they can revert Grootfall can be seen from a mile away, and now we're dragging Billy and Teddy into this. Why use the queer women so heavily associated with this franchise? That'd be just ridiculous.

I'm just so tired of this run. I do feel for the creative team; while GOTG books are usually not great, we did get a fantastic run. Ewing isn't an easy one to follow and his run being so good, and so respectful of these characters' histories, makes this run an even worse pill to swallow.

I dunno. Terrified to see what they do to close this story out, outside of the obvious Grootfall twist.
