Part 2 of 2: Friendship Hill National Historical Site protects the vast, sprawling estate of Albert Gallatin, a Swiss-American entrepreneur and politician sometimes referred to as America’s forgotten founding father. Gallatin purchased the land for his estate in 1785, when the Allegheny Plateau represented the westernmost frontier of the United States. The full histories of the site and Albert Gallatin can be found here. Today, the estate, perched on a idyllic wooded bluff overlooking the Monongahela River to the west and the Chestnut Ridge to the east, is administered by the National Park Service as part of the Fort Necessity National Battlefield.

One final thought, if you're looking at Ukraine and you're saying "yeah, I feel bad for them, but I'm more worried about China", well... I do agree with you that the idea of China attacking Taiwan is horrific and real thing to be concerned about given the rhetoric China uses around Taiwan

However, all I have to say is that how we handle Ukraine will likely strongly factor in to China's thinking around anything to do with Taiwan

The parallels are blatant, and there's no way they aren't watching

I argue to you that the stronger our support for Ukraine is, the more painful this ends up being for russia so long as they refuse to withdraw; that the stronger the deterrence to China to engage in something that's really similar to what russia's doing in Ukraine

I argue to you that one of the best ways to deal with China and support Taiwan, is for us to support Ukraine

A Ukrainian victory supports a more stable world

#not to mention the Ukrainian military is as of now one of the most experience armies in the world when it comes to truly modern warfare #if there's anyone it would be good to have on our side for any conflicts; it would be the people who know how to use things like drones #which are concretely a very important part of the modern battlefield #but I really do sincerely have hopes that a Ukrainian victory would have a chilling effect on any counties with similar ambitions to russia #if we can present a world where aggression is at minimum met with total isolation as the world pumps supplies in... #well... I think that makes it a very bad idea to try and invade your neighbor #and it would be nice to get to a point where people stop trying to invade their neighbors #anyway... As a former Washingtonian, I think it’s an unjust crime that I never got to go to the Space Needle. I never got field trips, no tourist relatives wanted to go, my family didn’t take me-I want my own Space Needle trip!
