yap session except i’m passionate and i want you to live your dream life bc i can’t promise you a second chance at this life thing!! mwah
how many times are you going to consume loa content, get yourself excited all to procrastinate, deny yourself your desires, place everything else on a pedestal and waste another year wishing things were different?
no your dreams aren’t "too much", "too ambitious" "to unrealistic" when they are people that blow up and their whole lives change, people become overnight billionaires, globally recognised artists, randomly recruited models. – half of the people you sit there and admire, started with a desire or a hope just like you. the difference between you and them, is that they surrendered to that hope, to things working out for them.
"idk how i’m going to get there but i will" and they do. - no circumstance is to big because there are people all around you to prove otherwise. no circumstance is to big and you know that because you sit there reading about others getting their desires, wishing that it were you.
where is thinking about things not working out going to get you? is it fun to think that things won’t work out? who cares if it didn’t in the past, are we in the past ? keep the past where it is, bc the only thing that keeps you reliving your past is you thinking about it. notice how you suffer more in your head than irl? dead the old story. does it contribute to your happiness? abundance? dreams? no? then it’s not your business.
there’s so much information out there on the law, it is a promise to you that you are guaranteed what you want, all you have to is THINK in your favour.
in a world where the sky turns yellow, government officials confirm extraterrestrial life on earth, a whole bunch of individuals are said to be billionaires, people are becoming millionaires solely off their social media accounts, so much - you’re telling me you can’t get your sp? you can’t join that group of billionaires? you can’t manifest your desired appearance? there are aliens on earth and you’re telling me you can’t manifest your desired appearance? 😭
honestly the same way you can ignore the good things in your life, now do the same with your current 3D circumstances. it’s not your business.
and then decide today, what you want and decide that it’s yours, will be yours whatever. - time isn’t even real.
and then you live your life, and if you get a thought against your desire, cool it has nothing to do with you. you see negative circumstances pop up? great circumstances change all the time what does it matter to you? feeling anxious or doubtful? that’s fine bc as long as you can remind yourself it’s yours, go lay down and self soothe. - what you think a feeling that will fade away eventually is going to stop you from getting your desire? crazy.
the law of assumption is a pinky promise to you that all you have to do to achieve a life you love to live, is think and assume and expect everything in your favour. that’s it. and stay there. know it’s your. - what’s the harm in thinking otherwise? exactly.
@cairoswrld - anyways i need to make my blog look more pretty, the venusian in me is unsatisfied 🙁

I decided to alternate playing ace attorney games with professor layton games until I finished the main trilogies for both and could finally play plvspw, and it was so worth the wait. I love this game so much it is everything I could have hoped and more, so so so much more. Highly recommend to honestly anyone!!!

Summary
This game is everything I hoped it would be. yes it's a Professor Layton crossover, but it also has the charm of DGS x Princess tutu x tunic. The ending was very layton-esque, along with all the reveals. I truly had such an amazing time playing this game. I was initially introduced to this because I heard that DGS was inspired by it, so it was my mission to play both aa and pl's original trilogies before playing. And I am so glad I did bc the wait was so worth it. You can absolutely see the influence this game and professor layton had on Shu Takumi. There's so much passion and creativity between plvspw an dgs that makes playing them all the more enjoyable. I loved how all the main characters interacted with each other, I especially loved how hershel and phoenix swapped assistants. The new characters were also so fun. Espella, Barnham, Darklaw, the story-teller, they were all so unique and enjoyable to interact with. The animation was stellar. This 3D style really works for both PL and AA and im so glad both series took inspiration from it. The music and art was phenomenal, this game honestly should win awards if it hasn't already done so. I also love how any character pulled into an aa game will have their gay moments: phoenix x hershel and espella x eve especially. I can't wait to make art or even write for this game, I will definitely add scenes from this to my ballet au ^^! What a phenomenal game, what a fun premise with the most convoluted layton-esque ending. It was so perfectly I highly recommend!!

My Favourite Designs from Monster Never Cry!
————————
Ok listen
As some people who are familiar with me know, I am a “computer scientist” of sorts. I’m graduating from university in a couple months, and basically I code and know how to do graphics and gameplay and shit. Also I am very gay and love attractive women
I like downloading random gacha games I get ads for- yes even the ones with stupid ads. If anything that makes me want to download them more because I want to see what quality the game actually has and how much is false advertising. I’ll make another post later to discuss how much of Monster Never Cry’s ads are false advertising, as well as issues that the game has, but in the meantime, I want to start positive.
Monster Never Cry has an art style I really like. It reminds me of Skull Girls in a way. Plus, I feel like at least one person on the team had fun designing some of these characters. Since the premise is that you’re the head of the “villain” monster kingdom, the designs of characters you can pull really stand out to me a bit. Yes you get a bunch of obligatory cute girls, but a lot of these designs have some really cool ideas and silhouettes. Let’s look at some right now.
——————-
Vesta
Tumblr media
Yes, first let me pull you in with some big titty ladies. Ok but tits and sultry gaze aside, here’s what I like here.
First of all, I feel like she really sells the idea of “playing what would normally be the villains” aspect of the game, especially compared to some other designs. She looks like a character you would actually have to fight in other games. Of course, she also looks a bit like your generic succubus wife character. Bc every gacha game needs one, I guess. And here’s the other thing, and I find this kind of interesting. Vesta, weirdly enough, almost has this angelic vibe as well. Yes we got the horns and the curves and the spikes. But hear me out. First, most obvious observation, there’s a lot of white and gold. Also, at least in gameplay, those spikes floating around weirdly resemble wings (at least to me). Not particularly mind blowing, I know. And the official splash art being used here isn’t exactly helping my case here since it’s really emphasizing the darker parts of the design. But let me put it this way, you could put an angel character in this design and it would work with minor alterations. And I feel like that works with the premise of the game, where the monsters were never “villains”, at least until the heroes decided that they were.
But even apart from that, I really like the silhouette here. It’s playing with the shape of a heart, which actually carries over in her in game model thanks to those floating spikes. There’s a lot of contrast here too, that makes the design pretty readable even though a lot is going on. We have the contrast in colours, in curves and sharp edges, etc.
I do have some criticism here. For one, the blue accents really aren’t necessary. You can barely see them and they’re not really doing anything. We already have red and gold accents, you could just use those. There’s also the ombré hair. I get the idea, and yeah it looks cool, in the official art it curls up like magic smoke or something. But you really can’t read it in the in game model, even though they tried to add it. Frankly they could have just had an ombré in a darker grey in the hair and it would have had a similar effect. Plus I get it, succubus, but the ass wings aren’t necessary. They’re not doing anything for her and you can’t see them much anyways.
—————-
Nafitha
Tumblr media
Ok, now here’s one I really find interesting and fun.
Something to note with the designs in this game is that they have to carry over to small 3D models, and yeah, some characters fare off better than others. Let’s just put it that way.
But Nafitha here actually carries over well to a 3D model. Even her little crystal friend is very visible, perhaps even more visible in 3D. Nafitha is pretty unique to me since she actually looks better in some ways in 3D. You notice more about her design, like how the rocks around her wrists are actually disconnected and also floating. She does look like she’s missing a mouth there, sure, but I wouldn’t say that detracts from the design. If anything I wish she just didn’t have a mouth since it would lend more to this crystal-rock construct look. You can tell that Nafitha was designed with 3D in mind, because it takes full advantage of it via the floating rocks and her little friend, plus the fact that she levitates. It allows for a lot of movement in animations and attacks.
I also like the use of colours here. The rock barrier acts like a frame almost to the white and blue, and the silver and white make good accents to the various blues used to show off the crystal look. I also love that the more saturated blue is used both in Nafitha’s body and her companion because it gives this idea that this is the power that she’s running off of. MNC doesn’t give too much individual lore to characters, outside of the main story and something called Memory Casket. Nafitha hasn’t shown up in either as of the time of writing, so I don’t know what her deal is exactly. But her design makes me want to know more, especially because of that interaction she has with her companion.
———————-
Shipshark
Tumblr media
Ok, this encapsulates the other aspect of MNC’s designs that I love, which is “ridiculous but great”.
It’s three shark brothers, on a ship that is also a cannon turtle, and everyone’s a pirate. The silhouette is messy, and you can’t exactly tell who it is based off of it. Also, the official art doesn’t show that one of the sharks has a fish skeleton as a weapon which I think is a crime. But… I mean look at it. It’s just goofy! But in a way that works! They still fit the vibe of “this could be an enemy or even a boss in another mobile game”, while maintaining this comedic look.
I don’t have much else to say, I just like these guys.
—————
Guardian 1 and Barnend
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Putting these two together bc it’s a similar concept.
When I say that at least one person on the team had fun, this is what I mean. These two characters are just tanks where it’s a suit piloted by a small animal and you’re supposed to take them seriously.
I’m not sure which I like better. In Barend’s case, the bear is actually kind of edgy (at least from what I recall in memory casket), and serious which makes his design even more entertaining to me.
But then there’s Guardian 1… which is funny to me because it’s an “Ancient Golem”… with a hamster in it. Because… because why the fuck not I guess.
Again, similar to shipshark, I just think these guys are neat
—————
Last one, Undine
Tumblr media
First, I like the silhouette and colours. The gold really pops, and the harp helps it read in silhouette which character this is. The little slimes are cute too, and frankly I just love the idea of a water harp.
I’d even say that the lack of coverage here at least makes a bit of sense? She’s surrounded by water, so logically you’d at least wear something swim suit-ish. Plus she’s treated like a Devine protector of sorts to slimes, and I feel like the amount of skin and the white fabric does kind of lend itself to that.
However, the main reason I think the lack of coverage works is because it at least kind of helps with the main issue I have with Undine. Unlike most of the monsters, she doesn’t really fit the vibe of “you would fight this character as a boss or something in another game”, and I can’t tell how I feel about it. On one hand it works I suppose, given that the monsters are the good guys here. But at the same time, I don’t know how any hero could read Undine as a threat? Perhaps that’s just me, I don’t know. She just doesn’t look… edgy enough? Or maybe she just looks too gentle? I’m not sure.
My other issue is the 3D model. Undine in 3D….
Tumblr media
Showing at the risk of exceeding my image count.
Yeah…
I can’t even tell what’s in her lap. A book? A skirt? Also where did the harp jugs on top come from?
Characters downgrading in 3D is definitely a thing in MNC, and I may make another post going over that and other issues in the game. But Undine seems to have really gotten it rough.
—————
I do have some other characters who’s designs I like but this post is already a mile long, so honourable mentions
- Loki
- Sarcophogirl
- Octasia
- Sylph
- Medusa
- Horace
- SynderHelden
- and Avanzo
Let me know if you’d like me to make a sequel post to go over these designs
And let me know your thoughts
I apologize for wasting your time
- Spooky S Skeletons

That animation you posted was amazing!!! The gleam of the leaves is so pretty. If you don't mind, what software did you use for it?
Hii, ty for asking, I was itching to tell!!!
I used Krita for the model and props (background and foreground). I drew parts of his body on different layers so I can assemble them into a model later.
Then I animated the model itself in Moho using bones and ensured it loops (though leaves still look a bit jagged in the end, I animated them w bone dynamics on, it was hard to make them completely match the first frame).
After that, I exported everything as a PNG image sequence (arms and the plant separate from the body to make shadows later) and imported it into Adobe After Effects. I assembled everything, added shadows under his arms, added gleam effects to the eyes and the plant itself, some lighting and a slight parallax so it's all nice and 3d (sort of, it's hard to pick on). I used masks for the most part. Fun fact: I wasted about an hour making small white dots in his eyes bc I used a tracker tool for that and it refused to cooperate. The more you know
Here are some videos that might help:
Moho (this one isn't really beginner friendly in terms of explaining the interface and all that, but it covers basic aspects of bone animation in simple form): https://youtu.be/DSk7NOEzK-w
AE (this one is REALLY good!!): https://youtu.be/jv4axtpnZps
Parallax in AE (mostly covers animation of photos etc. and very well explains the tools you can use): https://youtu.be/CjUeDBbdG_o
Hope this helped!

It's always interesting when I see posts about vtubers from an outside perspective 'cuz they remind me that to a lot of people vtuber exclusively means those generic anime girl models when to me it's like, damn I don't think I've ever seen such a diverse mess of character designs/concepts?
I mean it def has to do with the types of vtuber communities that you're in, and yeah there are a lot of those anime girls and they do tend to get SUPER popular(especially the ones who are like sponsored and shit), but when you get down into the trenches of small-time vtubers and pngtubers, especially ones where the streamers are doing most, if not all, of their own art, it really has more of a...idk vr chat/halloween costume/old forum pfp vibe to me?
Even the furries all have pretty unique art styles, and they range from like classic anthro furries to more human-looking ones to ones that are basically just animals(and they break down farther into anime-inspired or western style or realistic), I've seen stuffed animals, tons of chibis, muppets, one old school comic book style superhero, skeletons, old rubber hose lookin' cartoons, spiders, pokemon, star trek ocs, mythological creatures I've never even heard of, zombies, non-anime style monsters, slime...creatures, everything from static 2D images to a bajillion different styles of live 2D and 3D that look nothing alike, there very much is diversity.
So I dunno...I think there are a lot of those Anime Vtubers for sure and I can understand not vibing with what a lot of them have going on or even critiquing the trends and standards the like...industry, I guess, sets, but I think it's disingenuous to assume vtuber always means anime girl vtuber, bcs that's just not the case. When you go looking for them there are a LOT of fantastic, creative, diverse, and unique vtubers out there doing great work and they deserve recognition.
(And hell, there are a decent hunk of anime girl vtubers doing fun and unique stuff too, or at least having a lot of fun, and I'm not gonna shit on people who are just having fun.)
Or maybe that's just me, I'm kinda obsessed/in love with what people choose to represent themselves with when the sky's the limit and yeah sure, there's always gonna be generic anime girls, but there's also always gonna be those mad bastards running around dressed as cabbages too and I don't want them to be forgotten.

Hi! I've been following you for a while (don't really remember why or when) and I love your art! I just wanted to ask:
What's your favorite and least favorite part of animation?
oh cool! thanks for sticking around for so long :) honestly, if you've been following me for some time now it might've been either bc of my fanart, oc art, or both haha
thats a big question which prompts for a big answer so here's me rambling about it below B)
when asking fave/least fave things abt animation, its hard to answer without getting in depth on a variety of things LOL. animation, as a medium and field, is very nuanced with its own concentrations so its kind of a disservice to not recognize those areas esp when the skills u learn have a lot of overlap on how it improves other areas of study
i had practice in some 2D/3D ani, storyboarding, visdev, 3D modelling. here's my general experience with all of those:
2D
fave: figuring out how movement is created, rough animation stage, analyzing and figuring out timing/spacing, esp love the fact that you are creating motion, not pretty illustrations to gawk at, seeing the entire ani come together at the end feels very rewarding
least: cleanup and colors lol, feels very time consuming. if im gonna spend time making lines clean, id rather do that with an illustration piece
3D (in maya)
fave: can rely on the program to do the heavy lifting while you do the keys and adjustments, doing 3d actually enhanced my understanding of how the body moves in motion and space and where drag, follow thru, overshoot could be applied in both 2d/3d
least: i dont get to draw :( majority of my experience in the adjustment process is looking at a mass nebula of graphs and figuring out where i fucked up or smoothing out areas and fixing it. prefer 2d since i can just redraw what looks wrong vs scavenging thru multiple graphs. also modelling the key poses can feel like it takes forever vs drawing it
storyboarding
fave: creating strong, key story beats, keeping drawings rough when possible, shorthanding drawings, researching reference for shot compositions + studying them
least: can be very hard figuring out how to fill in the gaps between certain beats, easy to become uninspired/uncertain abt a sequence drawn
visdev
fave: seeing the final piece come together, figuring out composition, blocking in values/shapes, character design, research phase/looking for references and creating moodboards
least: i hate doing backgrounds lol. complexity affects how much i'll end up dreading it. personally not a fan of working on pieces for very long. im also not a fan of constantly doing paintings/bgs as a job
3d modelling (in maya)
fave: painting the model and texturing it, uv mapping and arranging it
least: the modelling part. fuck up 1 part and you fuck up the rest, you'd have to restart from square 1 or be lucky enough that you had a previous save before the fuck up. a proper process matters a lot in saving yourself the pain and headache from fixing everything (i redid a model that i worked on for 3 wks 4 times bc of my fuck ups)
overall, as a field of study
fave: its fun getting surrounded by others who can talk the same language as you do. ive always wanted to be around people who can get as hyped up and excited over discussing and analyzing story and animation, since i didnt have that with some of my other friends or family members. i've also been able to build proficiency in variety of programs too, which is useful. working in a team project is fun if you've got the right kind of ppl and that makes the experience fun when you the project finished. i've worked on various short films for rough animation, and i always love seeing the final film/composited shot and going "i worked on that part!! look at how nice it turned out with the rest of it! whoever did the [cleans/colors/compositing] did so good!!" i think my biggest satisfaction in this field is understanding the why and how something works (i.e. why/how does this animation effectively sell its movement? what makes these boards convey strong story moments? what about this composition is so appealing? why does this story beat matter to the rest of it? why do i/what makes me care about these characters?) it can easily deter people, but this field's a huge time commitment and youre constantly evolving your own craft. it doesnt come easy to everyone, but when you start seeing your own mileage, it feels very rewarding and pays off
least: industry's hard to get into lol, its kinda like that no matter where you go and once youre graduated, the time you spend in limbo is primarily working on your portfolio and catering to studios you wanna get into. its also easy to get the impression that being a "somebody" and maintaining a reputation matters to just increase your chances and connections of getting a job. that shits hard to deal with when youre not the most extroverted person on the planet, and even if your classmates do know you, are you gonna be the one that they end up talking about constantly or regarded highly a lot? names spread within circles, and it can feel like a competition to just get yourself known. its very easy to beat yourself up over seeing other people's work too. we're desperate, we're starving, we want our work to be acknowledged and validated, we want a job that satisfies our creative needs.
this field is incredibly demanding and its more than just having fun and drawing pretty pictures when much of it is a collaborative effort for a project. the disciplines you learn will majority of the time, without a doubt, will be applied for a larger team. at the same time, what you learn has overlap into other areas too which is always fun when you have this moment of "holy shit, i get it now"

Hey I followed you a bit ago (came for the gay cat comic, stayed for the nonbinary autistic dnd nerd energy bc same hat), it’s been cool getting to watch your art develop while you’re going through art school!
I can’t remember if you’ve ever posted about working in Blender, but I’ve just recently started learning how to use it and it’s my first foray into 3d modeling from exclusively 2d digital art and graphic design. I was wondering if you had any advice you’d be willing to share for a 3d newbie based on your own experiences learning to make 3d art? It’s been fun so far, but it feels like there’s so much to learn!
Aww!! This is really sweet, thank you!
Well, I guess the first thing I’ll say is I learned on Maya which I’ve heard it pretty different from Blender. I think the hardest part is really staying excited. There is SO much to learn and new technology can be frustrating. (For me I’ll usually cry over a program for a while before I really get the hang of it). I spent twelve hours one day learning all the wrong ways to unwrap a UV, but that time wasn’t wasted. It was frustrating, but I was learning how to do it a little better each time.
I highly recommend the efficacy of keeping a log- whether it’s for yourself or on social media- of the progress you make. Getting to look at the first 3D thing I made (that I really struggled with):
Tumblr media
versus what I was able to make when I got my feet under me:
Tumblr media
Is a pretty remarkable improvement, but if you’re only looking at the last thing you made you may not see how far you’ve come.
If you have the time just play around. Decide on a personal project and be wrong about a lot of stuff. Try to make a character you like or model some kind of vehicle you like, check out tutorials that get you excited to play with some new tool you haven’t messed with. You’ll be wrong about most of it but you’ll learn a whole lot about how not to do it and how to do it better next time.
Ultimately I’m not delving further into 3D modeling. I liked what I learned but I found my passion in a different aspect of tech art but I still love that I have the tools to make little personal things if I want to!

Hello! Could get a Marvel matchup (preferably X-Men)? My pronouns are she/her and either male or female preference is good.
𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬: I have massive introverted tendencies and am awkward in nature with new people. As a result I can come across as aloof and indifferent at first. I’m usually too much in my head daydreaming and thinking. I absolutely despise small talk. However with my friends I’m quite friendly and outgoing. Whenever I’m with my friends I can get really giggly and dorky when talking abt my recent hyperfixations. I open up to people very easily if we have similar interests. I tend to either overthink everything or not think at all. I’m a bit of a control freak and want to do the things the way I do them but I won’t enforce this on anyone else unless the result directly affects me. Just let me do things the way I do them. I'm also quite dedicated and ambitious on what I want in my life and will stand by those decisions.
𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗦: New media art. I love to creative code. I love working with interaction design, web design, user experience and user interfaces. I also love creating special effects, and 3D/2d modeling. Apart from this, I love digital illustration and character design.
𝗛𝗢𝗕𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗦: let’s just say I spend way too much time daydreaming. Fan fiction, video games, movies, books, tv shows. Anything that lets me daydream and disappear from reality for a while is a hobby of mine. I also love working out and weight lifting.
LIKES: I love lazy weekends at home, classic arcades, coffee, learning random new facts, spending time alone, intelligence, creativity, a good sense of witty humor, conversations where you can just be yourself and skip all the awkward small talk, the look on people’s faces when they ramble abt the stuff they’re into, a good home cooked meal, summer and warm weather, a good giggling session with friends esp abt fictional crushes ahahha.
DISLIKES: physical touch (tho I do warm up to the people I’m close too), large crowds, cold weather, admitting my anxieties, talking on the phone, and small talk
Thank you! ❤️
Hiya! @danzalladaggers
I ship you with...
Alex Summers
Tumblr media
I read your request in about 30 seconds and immediately I was just like 'Alex.'
I feel like you would get along really well
And I reckon you'd become pretty good friends before you even started dating.
He would love how much of a dork you are and would most likely share his interests with you
This boy would absolutely LOSE HIS MIND if you designed him a new suit via digital illustration
And lets be real, he would definitely stay up with you on some nights, just playing video games and watching tv. he loves it!
Also, training !!!!!
He would absolutely adore training with you, he just finds it so fun.
I also feel like he would read a lot, so he would definitely annotate a book and give it to you for your birthday.
just a warning, he probably can't cook
I mean
he can make a pop tart without it burning?? I suppose???
Alex thrives off of physical touch
He'd been made fun of and cast away for years because of the fact that he was a mutant, so it's really nice for him to know somebody cares

like all the idol land delays point to issues... possible ones i can think of:
playtesters hate it. the mobile idol game scene is oversaturated with multi-lane games w hold and swipe notes, and pripara arcades control scheme wouldnt work well for a landscape mobile game, soooo theres a decent chance theyre having trouble pinning down a style of gameplay that hits the boxes theyre going for. pripara arcade is aimed at kids, which is why theres no hard modes- its a card collection/fashion game with a rhythm game shoved in there to incentivise the card collecting. idol land is aimed at older audiences since... u need a phone to play it lol. so regardless they would probably need to offer more difficult modes to get a wider audience. this all boils down to the devs most likely trying multiple gameplay styles and tweaking the difficulty levels
other mechanics. stuff like stamina systems, in game currency, exp, unlocking songs... basically how will they keep whales while not devolving into an awful cash grab that turns away free players (who are v important in keeping certain whales happy by inflating the numbers of players theyre "better" than)
rights. copyright law is dumb which is why its a very fun roadblock. so pretty series has always done brand deals/collabs etc, and theres a chance theyre working out what collab coords they can keep in the game
compatibility and bloating. i really hope this is a focus bc a lot of 3d rhythm games take up way too much space and are only compatible with more recent models
netcode. which i mean... pls. this is more of a wish than anything bc would it not be amazing to have multiplayer lives where you get to choose the song first and then try to get cohesive coords w everyone ur playing with, and then play the live w all ur mycharas.................. 🥺🥺🥺🥺
seriously though, chances are theres been a very playable prototype of the game for A While now. they may have to tweak stuff here and there but theres no way they wouldve even announced any release window if it wasnt almost ready to launch. theres 100% some kind of problem that they expected to have been able to deal with by now. honestly i am leaning towards copyright issues or netcode issues since copyrights a publisher issue and all the internet stuff would come in late into the development cycle

For the send a game title ask, Legend of Dragoon
Dragoon, my beloved...
Favorite thing about that game: Wait, just one? Honestly it's a toss up between the story, which is incredibly written even with all the wacky localization hiccups, and the mechanics which are surprisingly balanced considering the game was published in 1999/2000.
Least favorite thing about that game: Hmm, probably that Kongol gets kinda shelved by the writers, I felt he had a lot of narrative potential that we never see realized. Also I feel like running all the way back to Lohan to pick up his dragoon spirit (or waiting till the end of the game) is tedious, esp. if I'm going to use him in my main party, and I feel like he should have just gotten it after saving Dart and Co. after the battle with Gerich, since it'd kinda make sense that the gang had stolen the spirit or it was just chilling in the ruins of the Home of Gigantos. Aside from that, I think Meru should not fall into the "woman who is older than she looks, and she looks 16" trope, it's not a good trope for her.
Favorite character in that game: Hmmm, all of...them? Technically Meru bc I love her character arc and personality, and she's fun to play as, but I have a lot of love for Albert, Kongol, Lavitz, and Miranda too.
Would I recommend it? Why? YES YES, aside from being a classic JRPG that got left in the dust due to niche popularity, it is surprisingly balanced mechanically and isn't as janky as some games from that era tend to be. Also the story is fascinating, and it's one of the most creative takes on dragons I've ever come across (I mean, there's a giant praying mantis dragon, and that's just the tip of the dragon design iceberg). Actually there's a lot of things in LoD that I simply do not see in a lot of fantasy stories that I feel could be used more often, but like, everything from the visual design to the music to the narrative to the mechanics is really well-made and makes the entire game a sort of forgotten gem of the JRPG world.
Free space to go off about something! Something that continues to amaze me is, voice acting aside, all the CG cutscenes still hold up even by the standards of today's 3D animated cutscenes. Like, LoD feels like it was really ahead of it's time in a lot of aspects, but all the cutscenes are gorgeous, and the game has some of the best CGI for character and prop models for early 2000s games that I know of. It makes me kind of sad that finding high-res renders of the characters is so hit or miss, but regardless I always enjoy watching the cutscenes if only to gawk at how pretty they are.
Rating out of 10: 100/10, one of my all-time favorite games, I replay it almost yearly and I rarely replay games that often.

just finished watching Tje Bad Guys. I really liked it! Here's my thoughts:
snake and wolf totally have a thing goin on
ms fox was a bit of a mary sue but she looked hot doing it so all is forgiven
speaking of, i really enjoy her dynamic with mr wolf. at first i didnt care much for it, but when it was revealed she was also an ex-criminal, i began to dig it. that scene where wolf geeks over her equipment like a fanboy hit me so good. and their cute dialogue over it "i actually prefer the older model" "agree to disagree" i can relate to that level of autism when you talk to somebody who is equally passionate on a subject.
the computer joke got me to laugh tbh. when webs was having technique difficulties and they were throwing suggestions "maybe it needs system permissions?" "update a driver!" it was so funny bc that's exactly what troubleshooting feels like. literally whenever i have a computer issue i cant instantly figure the cause of im like "update a driver. its gotta be one of them."
the Twist that marmalade was #evil i saw coming, but i do like how they pulled it off. i didnt think he was the grandma tbh. also the breakdown scene had so much (unintentional) death note imagery. i literally was like "HES HAVING HIS KIRA BREAKDOWN"
i also saw the twist coming that Snake set him up, but again, it was satisfying and made sense why he couldnt or didnt tell the others of it, so i forgive it
the animation style was a lot of fun. kind of into the spiderverse esque with the 3d animation that feels very 2d
mr wolf has a praise kink
another story that focuses with the whole "dont judge a book by its cover!" and "people can change!" but its not a bad moral, it's simple and important regardless
that line where maramalade said to mr. wolf smth like "Looks like the big bag wolf has been outsmarted yet again by a little piggy" was clever. also when he kicked the door open just as Wolf had his angry outburst to paint him in a bad light. saw that coming but made me have that instinctive cringe reaction all the same bc man wolf was boned
to the hacker of the group: "Where'd you learn to do that?" "oh, you know, i'm a born natural, it just comes to me......... *sighs* YouTube, mostly."
also, im very pleased that characters in this movie dont speak perfectly. as in, they stutter and redo their sentences in the middle of them, especially when frustrated. This is something that has always bothered me in many forms of media. People don't speak perfectly most of the time and tend to stumble and stutter. I'm really glad that characters do it several times over, it feels more real. And the voice acting was great
i liked that when everyone thought the guys had stolen smth they actually didnt, they turned on them. This obviously made them feel betrayed, but they didnt give up. i like that the general public wasnt portrayed as perfect obviously, and the guys took offense to it but still pushed forward
also i kinda like the subtle notion that, ironically spoken by marmalade, that there's good in everyone. despite the fact he turned out to be the true villain, if it wasn't for him, the bad guys wouldn't have become the good guys in the first place
some things i didnt necessarily like:
the character of the shark feels exactly the same as the shark character in the harley quinn show. not that it's a bad thing, it's just odd such a specific archetype is prevalent (comic relief goofy villain shark with black man voice who's main trait in heists is to play the part of a disguise but the joke is you can tell it's obviously a shark)
especially when in her bad guy outfit, ms fox's body is so... curvy and ""female"". this isn't a problem with this movie specifically, pretty much any other female character furry movie or otherwise has this issue
not a fart joke fan sorry :( well sometimes but not here
not necessarily a good or bad thing, but this movie has many parallels to zootopia, but if zootopia was told from nick's perspective and he was a wolf, and judy was a fox. both movies have similar themes while zootopia also deals with racism. i like both movies for different reasons. however, zootopia did mildly criticize the police industry by portraying them as uncooperative, caring more about reputation than getting the job done, and being guilty of racism as well. Of course it's to be expect that a movie about a new cop would critique the police more than a movie about bad guys who don't work with the force. except that maybe you can see it as them being too trigger happy with arresting people.
Anyway, good movie! Enjoyed it. the wolf was hot as hell.
edit: forgot to ask, what WAS the point of marmalade dressing up like an old lady? all this only happened bc wolf tried to steal her purse, but she tripped, so he was forced to help her to not cause a scene, and she praised him. Assuming the tripping was on purpose, how did he know wolf would even try to rob her in the first place? How did he predict Wolf would come here - that he had good in him to even trick him with?????? it just seems super coincidental and he assumed a lot of things for this "him dressing up as an old lady" trick to work. idk
