Alright, first, I’ll do Tera, my Half Life OC. The quick background on her is that she is a biochemical engineer who was testing the Biology Department’s HEV suit when the Resonance Cascade happened, and thus survived by pure accident. Being Australian however, she was able to hold her own against the space Australians. You don’t run into her during the game because the Military slit her throat thinking she was Freeman, but she survived! Barely! With the help of GMan and some science (and morphine from the suit). Anyways, onto the ask game

Blood- what would she do if she saw a stranger’s corpse: originally, pre rescas, depending on the place, she would’ve panicked. Whose body is this, what killed them, am I in danger as well? That kinda stuff. Unless it was like a funeral she accidentally got invited to (she would go to see if she knew anyone there and if she didn’t she would apologies) post ResCas, probably after stasis, legit that would’ve been just par for the course. Unless it had a Headcrab on it. Then she would stab the Headcrab (she hates those things)

Garnet- if they had to kill someone, what method would they choose: the most quick and painless way possible. Not a stranger to mercy kills after the rescas, she has found that shooting someone in the soft part right between the skull and the neck on the back of the head is the least painful and most sure fire way to kill someone, aiming up thru the skull ofc. If she didn’t have a gun on her tho she would snap their neck.

Scarlett- how does she grieve: She used to get real quiet, cuts herself off from people, silently reflect on times she had with the person. However, after the rescas, most all of her friends had already died, and she was in Europe now instead of America or Australia, so she just assumed that her family was dead, so she forced herself to channel the pain and grief into rage, helping her get through her rather extraneous circumstances. She really just needs a hug and a good cry smh

Wine- How does she act when she’s drunk: She’s a happy drunk, but is also a heavyweight. Think of it like Brooklyn 9-9’s “# drink Amy” system. She gets real fun (a little loud) for the first 5 drinks. After 5 shit hits the fan, but she knows her limits. (She gets really competitive at drink 7 is the problem)

Lipstick- What is her love language: she is probably physical affection and quality time. Poor girl didn’t have the time to spend with people to fell fulfilled in a relationship before the rescas, and probably never will again.

Poppy- Does she believe in a god: After meeting up with Gordon after the rescas, he told her about the Nihalinth, and so she believes in some sort of higher being, but not probably the Christian god. She is a woman of science after all.

Time for Jaws! You all know Jaws (hopefully) but if you don’t, they are this crime gremlin I made for Payday. Common traits among all Jaws are: extensive scarring, multiple mental disorders, propensity for explosives. But the main point is just they’re a crime gremlin

Blood- what would they do if they saw a stranger’s corpse: they probably put it there. If it’s a civilian, they’d probably swear a lot because that’s coming out of my paycheck but otherwise they would just leave it there, bc they don’t want their finger prints on the scene

Garnet- if they had to kill someone, what method would they choose: shoot them. Or stab them. They aren’t above murder, they do it often. Chemical weapons are also fun, but they aren’t allowed to use them anymore after the Safehouse accidentally got filled with mustard gas that one time

Scarlet- how do they grieve: violently. Lots of murder, lots of stealing. At the Safehouse, where they can’t lash out violently, they have this thing called a “stab pillow”, it’s a throw pillow they started stabbing when they were mad. Also they have their dogs for emotional support (Rexy and Tatsuya my beloved)

Wine- how do they act when they’re drunk: they mellow out a lot actually! Get really tired, but also usually have enough energy to play like drinking games and stuff. Very much a lightweight.

Lipstick- What is their love language: they are aroace, but with their “family”, it’s quality time. They just like being in the presence of people (they aren’t physically affectionate but very touch starved so think of them like a cat on occasion)

Poppy- do they believe in a god: no. God abandoned them.

then after all of that, this girl had the nerve to turn around and say to me: “oh so you’re cute btw. i have a crush on you! do you say yes?” and when i answered “no???? like what???” she hit back at me with: “is this because you came from catholic school???? like they all hate gays there, right? so you’re really one of them.” i was mentally like: “although you have a vaild point miriam, it’s a no on that point of the catholic school thing. but also it’s also no???? because like???? why did you try to use me as a pawn??? i’d prefer if you didn’t do that. also why did you try to set me up men who are literally twice our fucking age, despite my fucking constant goddamn refusals???? like y’all. that’s not right??? so my final points are these: DO NOT throw yourself at grown fucking men (or any adults, for that matter) who know what they’re doing is fucking wrong and end up in a dangerous, unhealthy and more than likely abusive relationship just bc some demented friend thought that “older men will look after you”/“you need a boyfriend”. don’t accept their dismissals of the men’s behaviour and their part in your friends part in grooming you. and don’t fall for these men’s weird comments of “you’re so mature for your age” etc either.

also don’t end up in an abusive etc relationship with a girl/woman who reacts to a rejection with ~something like this~: “oh i had a crush on you, so i used all of these fucked up tactics to make you like me... but you don’t???? what the fuck??? how dare you be scared of me and my feelings towards you. it must be your background that makes you hate me. fuck you. like me. you bitch.” (which is what i translate this girl’s reaction to my rejection of her, as). because girls/women can be just as fucked up in trying to get a partner as men are, is my point. but most women/girls won’t go to the level this girl did, unlike men.

as an end note: i’m not sure if people are getting sick of my advice posts about weird people you might meet in life like obvs my stalker or any of the weird guys/people that i’ve had hit on me in my life so far.... but y’all here’s another one.

WAR IN EUROPE: Ukraine vs russian invaders, a closer look (instead of news headlines, which you can find in my archive for week 1 of the war).

I noticed that our western news channels rarely explain wtf is going on to the young TikTok generation. Our parents will remember and understand the wordings but without reading hours of history & news archives, this is the core stuff:

- understand the 1st week of the war by knowing what “Blitzkrieg” means. Putin’s military tried a Hitler tactic. Fast movement of heavy weapons like tanks from several directions targeting the capital (which took 20 days in 1939 when Hitler and supporting slovakian forces attacked Poland). Now we see that russian plan is partly a failure, they seem to have fuel shortage, miscalucation of ukrainian defense and not enough troops to quickly surround several large cities. week 2 will probably show the fate of Kiev/Kyiv. Once totally encircled, the defenders fight for every street and in every house.

- understanding the war atrocities that Russia is committing these days means to learn from past wars and how Russia is fighting them. You hear news reports constantly using “Grozny” or “Aleppo” as examples. The problem is that you have to differentiate between political and miliary stuff & reasons. the first 2 images show effects of the war in Ukraine, the 4th and 5th image shows Grozny and Aleppo. the war in Chechnya caused tens of thousands of civilian casualties with the capital Grozny being utterly destroyed. this is the military similarity, which will probably happen to cities in Ukraine. on political level it’s not suitable to compare the 2 wars. when we look at the russian attack (to support the dictator of Syria) on Aleppo in 2016 it’s the same military tactic in heavy bombardment of a city and causing death without restraint, violating United Nations resolutions against attacks on civilians. On political level this war/involvment is also different from what happens in Ukraine.

- to the final image, the map image in the middle of my post. it shows Putin*Russia’s argumentation by which many territories of Ukraine are labeled as “gifts” from the russian emperors or the Soviet Union. in the state-media controlled russian society such “story” or argument (in addition to the accusation that the Zelenskyy gov is a Nazi mafia) is used to legitimize russian “special operation” (bc the word “invasion” is banned in russian media). ALL AREAS EXCEPT THE LIGHT-YELLOW IN THE MIDDLE ARE AREAS THAT PUTIN WANTS BACK. the thing is that there is no real or legit political ground, not in russian law, not in ukrainian law and not in international law. A prime example of misinformation, of a corrupt regime behind golden Kremlin doors abusing and brainwashing the russian people and attacking a neighbour (brother-country!) without provocation by Ukraine in “Blitzkrieg” style and if that doesn’t work...... bombing everything to hell.

conclusion: IF Putin-Russia wouldn’t have nuclear arsenal, the civilized world would already not only condemn but accuse Putin-R. of crimes against humanity in the “International Criminal Court”. there would be a no-fly-zone above Ukraine already, but the West can’t risk direct battle with a nuclear opponent led by a possibly mentally unstable dictator. the war in Ukraine will produce many thousands of dead and refugees before anything relevant will happen, especially in russian society. because 3500 russian protesters can’t overthrow the Putin regime. Putin doesn’t care about dead civilians, neither in other countries nor in Russia. sad but this is reality of war and politics.

Hmm, The closest thing they have to a pet at the moment is Leonor’s alebrije, Paola. However, Paola is hardly around unless Leonor desperately needs her. She seems to only really turn up either when needed or when she feels like it. Acts a lot more like that stray cat you sometimes see on the same street and it lets you pet it when it’s in the mood. Oscar is uncomfortable around Paola early in the relationship bc I think anyone would be given the sheer size of her, but tings calm down when he realises that Paola is pretty chill, and mostly just around for the treats and chin-scratches.Neither have really thought about pets other than that though9 - Do they act different in public and at home?

Yes, there’s a bit more affection at home, than out in public. Neither is really publicly affectionate, so to speak. An occasional hand hold or knuckle-brush would be the most indication that these two are a couple as passer-bys would get. Oscar often finds a little annoyance at how Leonor can slips into big sister ‘You can’t that’s dangerous’ mode, but it’s more of a teasing annoyance than anything. She was the oldest of her siblings, and he was one of the younger in his family, so he figures they’d still fall into those habits. He does hate her staying up late though.I feel as though skeletons don’t need to sleep as much as the living, but there’s still sleep for a reason. Leonor has a habit of staying up for way more hours than she should, which makes Oscar worry enough. But then she can also forget other people are asleep. 20 - What do they watch on tv and do they fight for the remote?Okay so like, I’m all for @heyheyitsjuju‘s idea of the twins, even in the canon verse, liking motorbikes. Mostly bc I love them as well but eyy and I like the idea that he and Felipe watch a lot of shows akin to Mexicánicos. Leonor doesn’t mind them. She won’t ask Oscar to change the channel if it’s on and he’s watching, though. She learnt from have four younger siblings that sometimes it’s a time saver just to let then wrestle among themselves, so she usually does her own thing. If they watch Oscar’s shows together, Oscar has to at least expect her to be asking things throughout the programs, since she has no idea what’s going on in most of those shows. Valeria comes round and yells with both twins about motors while Leonor sits there, nodding, lost.Leonor is a florist and to a lesser degree a botanist at heart, so he expects a lot of gardening shows to be a thing.He’s relatively shocked at how into crime and ghost shows she is.The cheesy shaky cam, and voice recordings that could easily be faked fully capture her attention. Before each of the ghost hunting programs she talks about how it’s so obviously fake, how could anyone ever fall for it. She still OOOH’s and gasps at all the times an orb appears on a blurred photo, and gently wraps her arms around Oscar’s arms when he watches them with her. He doesn’t usually watch the ghost ones since they’re not really his thing, and he spends more time waiting to see which reaction Leonor will have this time to this part.He finds himself enjoying the crime shows though, about unsolved mysteries and taboo subjects. Both like sharing theory’s together throughout the show about who did what, why and where. . Ok phos time! Phos and lapis are siblings, and phos like to idolize lapis. So um they think lapis is like super cool, so they got surgeries to look more like lapis.

.lapis is the one that got phos into computer science and phos worked really hard to get into the same college lapis went to. But then lapis went to jail, for like some cyber crimes, like I love lapis so much and they are def a scammer, and phos just kinda stopped going school.

Pos skew means a higher MEAN. Tallest part of curve is the MODE

Odds ratio is for Case control-> You’re an ODD CASE. Case of diz first than study risk. Formula sounds like dyslexic rock band= AD/BC

Risk Ratio is for Cohort studies-> My Risky Cohort. Risk/exposure first then observe future or past diz

OR and RR are both division. AR and ARR are both subtrAction. ARR is the weird one where you flip AR around~c/c+d - a/a+b(cuz ur reducing that risk) which helps to remember NNT is 1/ARR(ie making ppl better is reducing the risk) wheras NNH is 1/AR( that nasty absolute risk is causing harm).. this isn’t the most accurate thinking process, but just helps me to remember how to get these formulas.

Hawthorne effect- Watching you like a HAWK, makes you act different

Confidence interval z-scores: 68%~1z. 95%~1.96z, 99%~2.58z (or just 1, 2, 2.5)
