The more I think about it, the more I think that Persuasion has my favorite premise of all of Jane Austen's novels

Anne Elliot as a character speaks to my soul. She feels tremendous guilt for a decision she made eight years ago. Her life is lonely, as she doesn't really have anyone she can truly confide in despite being surrounded by people. So she swallows her pain, the yearning she feels deep in her soul, and vows that if nothing else at least she'll be helpful.

And of course she is reunited with Frederick Wentworth (the one that got away) who seems to hate her now, and she just keeps going. She keeps being kind and supporting her loved ones while slowly carving out a life for herself. There's something about her classic heroism that just feels so attainable. I don't have Elizabeth Bennett's wit, or Jane Bennett's unwavering belief in the goodness of everyone, or even Elinor's constant composure. But I can be like Anne and just keep moving forward attempting to be helpful

Of course it all works out in the end, and Anne is finally surrounded by people who truly appreciate her, even if she had to wait an extra eight years. Others have observed the fairy tale quality of the ending, and perhaps that's why it speaks to me. The idea that if you just keep doing your best and being kind, you'll eventually find happiness

#Would I say that Persuasion is my favorite of Jane Austen's novels? #I don't think ss #Pride and Prejudice is her most well written in my humble opinion #and i do with persuasion had more characters that were fully interesting individuals #and of course I would love more of an actual period of time where Anne and Wentworth are together in the narrative #since we never see what they're like as a happy couple or before their separation #(unlike Austen's other couples where you can see hints of their dynamic before they're together) #but the premise of persuasion is just so beautiful #persuasion #anne elliot #pride and prejudice #jane austen #cottagecore-raccoon

To make trade between planets of the coalition easier and fund the rebel forces a common currency for all coalition members is established. The paladins stand model for the design of the pictures on the bills. Lance feels really queasy when it turns out, Shiro is on the 100 bill, Keith on the 50, Pidge the 20, Hunk the 10 and he's on the fiver, literally telling the universe he has the least worth and Keith is 10 times better 😔

i got a goose tattooed on the inside of my forearm today and it was a flash piece but it's my favorite tattoo already it means everything to me i could sob

#i love geese so much and so deeply i named my dog after them #goose is my black dragon dog and my loyal faithful companion and my entire world #i just love these birds #they are so misunderstood as aggressive and scary when really they just are sensitive to spatial pressure #and they need a wider diameter than humans are often willing to give #but they are so beautiful i love their long graceful necks and how i can recognize their sounds anywhere #and that no matter where i live i see their little v's in the sky #and of course wild geese by mary oliver is one of the first poems i fell in love with #my english teacher deborah read it aloud to us in high school and it made me want to go outside and to stay alive #and when my gf and i first started dating i knew i loved her for lots of reasons but one of them was that she also loved geese #she told me she had a shared folder with her family members titled “geese i've seen” that she would put her goose photos in #so her entire family could witness them with her #i remember when i was sick with anorexia a few weeks before i was hospitalized a v of canadian geese flew over me on my way into work #and these big fluffy snowflakes were falling down and i could hear them calling #and it made my eyes well up #and i hoped they would get somewhere warm enough for winter #whether or not people have respect for them is a wonderful metric for gauging somebody's character #at the grocery store i worked at when i was 18 the only coworker i grew close to had a similar affinity for geese #she had a necklace of one #a little silver glinting goose in flight :'') #personal

not really because i haven't really thought about it! and this isn't really my own worldbuilding, this is the general consensus from high fantasy media in general:

Warlocks in general have a reputation for being evil, practicing dark magic, and making pacts with "bad" forces - like demons! they're thought to be servants of evil & are not to be trusted. their magic is usually chaotic and wild, unlike wizardry and witchcraft with are more careful and controlled - and their magic is learned, whereas warlocks get their magic from a powerful entity via some form of payment (ex: their soul)

really, warlocks can be good or bad or somewhere in between like any magic user. but due to the nature/source of their powers, they're seen as evil. the rarity of them only adds to this, since many do indeed get corrupted by their patron - or they sought out their pact for less than savory reasons

#no one chooses the warlock path unless they're desperate / think they have no other option #so then a lot of people who make pacts are in Not Great mental/emotional condition #which makes it easy for the source of their power to manipulate them #ya dig? does that make sense? #its like... wizards are scientists. theyre careful and studious about their magic #but warlocks are Artists! they just kinda fuck around and find out! #of course you'll see wild variation depending on who you ask about this subject #irl. not - not in the au #like a different blog might portray warlocks entirely differently #but i have my own understandings / interpretations of different magic users and the like #this is one of them! #i could use the cooking analogy.... #rambles from the bog #wh fantasy au #wally becomes aware of the warlock reputation very early on #so he quickly starts to portray himself as a wizard & act like it. thus - hiding the Seal at all times! #Home's tome and staff certainly help with the lie! #wally: wow! the world is so wide and beautiful! #wally a few days later: i may have miscalculated #hope you're having a good timezone as well! im always happy to Talk!

There are SO many cool interactions and lore things we can look forward to now that Rubius says he'll come back to QSMP (not only as an angel / demon, but potentially as a human too!), but that little detail reminded me of something:

Even though q!Vegetta and q!Rubius were mutually interested in each other wayyyy back in the beginning of the series, as an Angel / Demon, Rubius said he can't have relationships with humans because it's against the rules.

But a bit ago on stream, Rubius said that he's thinking about having a "human" side so he can build and do more things on the server as a regular player. I'm excited because this means he can have more casual interactions with people and we can see him interacting with his friends more (and he can experience The Horrors), but also...

I think we're in for some very interesting drama in the next few weeks.*

* ( Assuming Rubius doesn't get harassed off the server by toxic shippers and weird fans of the Eggs again. Please be nice to Rubius and welcome him back kindly, he's a very cool guy and his character is SO interesting )
