The thing was Percy didn't like being a bad kid. Every time he got kicked out of a school or wound up in the counselor's office over some incident he wasn't completely blameless for, his mom's brows would pinch. The line on her lip dipped. He knew what she was thinking each time: lost wages, job risk, who was going to watch him if he got suspended, where would she send him if he got kicked out, and so on.
He hated that he did that to her. Being a bad kid meant being a bad son. He refused to be a bad son - not on purpose anyway.
Well, he used to. She wasn't here anymore. Her brows weren't going to furrow. Her lips wouldn't thin. Her shoulders wouldn't draw up and tense before the principal even opened their mouth. It was over.
He didn't have anyone anymore. Nobody at cabin eleven would look at him. Other cabins steered around him like he was carrying the plague. Grover was off doing whatever satyrs did - probably getting ready to infiltrate some new school, befriend some new kid, save their lives. He didn't need Percy. It’d only been a few days but they'd barely interacted. Older satyrs would yank him along into the wood before Percy could get close or even open his mouth. Even Annabeth just eyed Percy with scrutinizing eyes - like she was assessing him for something. But every time he tried to approach her outside of their lessons, she brushed him off.
No one wanted Percy around.
What was the point of being a good kid anymore? There wasn't anything or anyone forcing him to keep his head above water. He was tired of the murmurs. He was tired of the avoidance. Tired of the glares from the Ares cabin. Tired of trying to keep the quake in his stomach tamped down.
He was just tired.
He thumbed along the flat edge of his sword. His new best friend was the pervasive feeling of loneliness. With a miserable sigh, he tucked the sword into the holster on his hip. People barely wanted to spar with him now so he was stuck to sweating it out on the dummies by himself. At least only when Luke wasn't pushing him as hard as possible.
But even with Luke there seemed to be pause. The first time Percy felt his gut yank after being claimed had been in training with Luke, and as soon as the feeling caught him, Luke begged off. Like he'd seen something in Percy that unnerved him. Sometimes when Percy looked in the mirror, he saw something in his eyes that unnerved him. A foreign thing - like a contact lens put in the wrong way.
No amount of poking or prodding at his eyes was going to get it out though. It was inside him - in his blood. He was sure of it.
He was starting to worry that it was the very thing he'd been keeping back, the very thing his mom was trying to keep him safe from.
The clang of metal against metal was loud as he walked past other trainees. There were a couple people leaning against the wall near the water fountain. As expected, they shifted away as he neared. Mistrust was bright in their eyes.
He did his best to ignore it. Not the first time people had stared at him like they thought he was dangerous. Or beneath them.
The water sprayed for a moment before he lowered his head. It was clarifying. He'd noticed it before, a burst of energy with every sip whenever he was tired, but ever since being claimed, he'd noticed the alertness more and more.
As he let go of the button, he caught the tail end of the muttering nearby. His stomach dropped.
“... should've ditched him sooner,” one boy grumbled. His friend snorted. “Maybe then she wouldn't have died.”
“What did you say?” The two startled. Percy understood why. He barely recognized his own voice, the eerie coldness to it frosty on his own tongue. Still, he repeated as he twisted on his heels to face them. “What. Did you just say?”
Panic besot them. For a second, the barest of a second, he could feel it kick in - be a good boy for me, Percy, be a good kid for Mom.
But she wasn't here.
She wasn't here.
So what was the point?
He took a step forward. “What,” he snarled, saliva coating his tongue like froth, “did you say?”
The others shifted away but he just crept forward. “Nothing, man,” one of them finally bit out, but they were lying. He could see it in their eyes, hear in their voice, feel it in their veins.
“You're lying,” he said. A bitten off laugh echoed from his lips. “You were talking about my mom.” Another choked laugh. “You think it's my fault?”
One of them raised his hands - a mock surrender. “Hey, dude-”
“You think I wanted her to die?” A sharp sensation coiled through Percy's chest. It thrummed hot and heavy, piling, piling, piling on his lungs. “You think I asked for ANY OF THIS?”
Someone's hand came to rest on his shoulder and it was like the crashing of the waves against his bare feet. Cold, clarifying, clear.
Freeing.
His fist drove straight into the jaw of whoever was behind him. He could barely tell who he was seeing - it might've been Luke, or any other tall blonde guy. But as soon as whoever it was stumbled back, he whirled around and punched whichever kid was closest in the stomach. They went down and he clambered on top to wail. Fist and fist upon whatever body part he could reach. He wasn't the most elegant hand-to-hand fighter but there was something to be said for the voracious and vicious energy boiling through him.
Distantly he was aware of yelling around him, aware of people pulling at him, aware of the person beneath him crying, arms over their face, arms Percy was tired of hitting. He needed to get their face, get their tongue, rip his mom from their mouth. How dare they speak about her.
How dare anyone talk about her.
A dozen hands finally yanked him back. He screamed. Bodies toppled. He grabbed the closest one by their hair, driving his knee upwards over and over again until hands ripped him away again. Swung blindly and caught someone. The two of them fell. His stomach pulled back. They choked. They weakened. He swung himself over until he was on top.
I want you all to drown, he thought, grabbing at their jaw. Don't ever speak of her again.
Saliva smeared across his fingers. His stomach pulled back even more. What was that - blood, water? On his hands, on his knees, on their skin, on their faces, in their veins.
His free hand drew out. He wanted it. It was his. Didn't they get that? She was his, and she was gone, so he would take and take all else that belonged to him until the hole in his chest was gone. Until the water they had coursing inside them filled him up.
“Percy,” someone whispered.
Their voice was familiar, breath hot against Percy's ear. He twitched. The feeling of nearby water, nearby fluid, was clenched tight in his fist. He just had to pull back. Yank it. Make it his.
The voice turned pleading. “Percy.”
He froze as two hot hands came to clasp his cheeks, dark brown eyes and curly hair blurring into view. Grover's face.
“Grover,” he breathed. For the first time since he'd ended up at camp, he relaxed.
Grover's thumbs stroked his skin. “Yeah, it's me.” He leaned in closer. “Percy, you need to stop.”
“Stop?”
“You're hurting people," he said. “You have to stop.”
Why? Percy thought. He didn't care. He didn't care if they hurt, didn't care if they drowned where they laid choking, didn't care if they suffered. It didn't mean anything to him. They didn't mean anything to him.
But this was Grover.
And with his mom gone, Grover meant the world.
“You want me to stop?”
“Yes,” Grover said. His breath was warm, his skin hot, his body close. Distantly Percy remembered nights at school like this - Grover tucked up next to him, trying his best to help Percy study when most people would've bailed. “I want you to stop.”
His lips were wobbling. His eyes were thick with wetness. His voice was unsteady - trying to be calm and rapidly failing. Even his hands shook.
Percy grabbed at his wrists. “Okay,” he whispered as he clung. His stomach relaxed slowly, the crash turning into a tickle. “I'm good, I'm good.”
Shakily, Grover exhaled, pressed his forehead to Percy's, and murmured, “I know, I know.”
His hands pulled away from Percy's face, but not away from him, arms wrapping around his neck and pulling him in for a tight hug. Percy's breathing wobbled as he tucked his face into the crook of Grover's neck. He clung tight and desperate. Pleading.
No, he couldn't be a good son anymore. He didn't have to bother keeping in check to avoid the thin line of his mom's lips. But he could be a good friend. To keep the tears out of Grover's eyes, the tremble from his skin.
“I can be good,” he promised quietly, for Grover's ears only. “I promise I can be good.”
“I know,” Grover said. His cheek pressed against Percy's. “I believe you.”
-
The fountain nearby trickled quietly. The steady flow soothed the unease between Percy's shoulders. Still, he squeezed the pillow in his grip tighter to his chest as he watched Grover flit around the bunk closest to him. He snapped the final end of the sheet around the mattress. Hooves clopped quietly against the tile as he stepped back. His gaze flickered between Percy's bed and his own.
Then he grunted and began pushing it closer.
Percy hopped up. The discarded pillow slipped from his fingers and onto the floor. He nearly tripped over it trying to get to Grover's side. They pushed the other bunk over until it was pressed into Percy's.
While Grover unfurled his blanket, Percy stepped back. Awkwardness choked him. He didn't know what to do, what to say. So he picked the pillow off from the floor and pressed it into his chest. Grover didn't spare him many glances as he worked to make up the bed. Leaning across his bunk, he yanked Percy's blanket from between the seam where the two bed frames connected and began tying the edges of both blankets together. It was shoddy work, no way it wasn't coming apart just from them lying on the sheets, much less sleeping.
But Grover did it anyway.
As he shifted back, hooves scraping the floor, Percy held out the pillow. Grover dusted off the top then laid it against the headboard. With both hands on his hips, he admired his work. Percy stared at it too. It was nice. Joined bed. Grover within direct reach.
His palms itched.
“Are you scared of me?”
Grover twisted around. His brows furrowed, but the edges of his lips were quirked upwards. It was reminiscent of school - Percy stumbling over something he read and Grover, lost but amused, over why Percy thought it was a man-of-war that Theseus fought.
He was partially grateful Grover cut him off before he could finish what he actually thought the sentence was trying to say. It certainly wasn't fight.
“I mean,” Grover started and Percy's stomach drew back. Behind him the trickle of the fountain silenced. Like the water was holding its breath too. “I'm scared for other people, but I'm not scared of you.” He punched Percy's arm with a quiet smile. “I know you're not going to hurt me, Percy. That's why I stopped you.”
The fountain began to trickle again. “And that-” He faltered. The ghost Grover's touched goosed up his bicep and across his shoulder. “-that doesn't worry you?”
That you might have to stop me again went unspoken but Grover was always good at understanding Percy's unspoken words, at knowing his unspoken feelings - even the ones Percy wasn't even aware he felt.
He sighed. “It worries me. But not because it's you.” He shook his head. “And definitely not because I'm scared of you hurting me.”
His eyes scanted away, brows furrowing deeper. Then he relaxed into the bed. After teetering on his heels for a couple seconds, Percy joined him. He gripped the edge of his shorts so tight his palms burned. Grover reached over to stroke along the back of his hand.
He exhaled slowly and let go.
“You remember Pan?” Grover asked.
Percy paused. “The satyr god, right?”
“Yeah.” Grover pulled away to tug at his fingers. “He's been missing for a while. Ever since the industrial age took off. And no one knows where he is. It's the dream of every satyr to find him, so that nature can return to the way it was.”
“That your dream?”
He nodded solemnly. “You have to be a Protector first, before you can get your Searcher’s license. But I'm not like the others.” His gaze fell down. His hands sat in his lap, cupped around nothing but air. “I don't want him just so we can bring nature back to its peak.” He sighed. “We were a lot different when Pan was still around. More free. More wild. I want satyrs and nymphs - all of us to be us again!”
Percy leaned into him. “What's stopping you?”
Grover snorted. “People forgot. We were more than just Pan's disciples. We fought to protect the wild from mankind. We didn't just sit around waiting for him to tell us what to do. But nobody wants to do anything.” He scowled. “They think when Pan returns he'll fix it all and I-” He bit his lip, then shook his head. “The world has changed. And gods don't get involved like that. Not to the extent they want him to. It's not in their nature. But if he comes back then maybe…”
He faced Percy. His eyes were watery, darkening the already dark brown of his eyes into shots of black. The welled tears glistened ever so slightly. Like the night sky, free of pollution.
His lips wobbled into a gentle smile. “But that's why I'm not afraid. You’re like nature at its purest form - chaotic, wild, unburdened.”
Normally those words wouldn't hit Percy as compliments. Insults, degradation - things that would deflate him and make his mom frown. But Grover sounded so earnest, his heart swelled.
“You can't tell, but I can feel it.” He swung his arm over Percy's shoulders and tugged him in close. “Your demigod essence, this sense of the wild that I've been searching for my whole life.” He gestured loosely. “Even the Demeter kids don't have that. Their mom is all agriculture and farming and that's great and all, but it's not pure nature, it's not the wild.” He squeezed Percy's shoulder as best he could with one hand. “You remind me of home, Percy.”
The frog Percy hadn't noticed in his throat jumped out with a burst sob-laugh. He tried to tile away, but Grover just tugged him close, bringing around his other arm to keep Percy pinned. Nonetheless his hold was fairly loose, like Percy was a stray cat he didn't want scratching him if he felt like running.
Or like he knew that Percy was the ocean through and through, unwilling to be contained, wanting to flow wherever he saw fit.
Percy practically crawled into his lap, sniffling into Grover's shoulder. Warm hands stroked up and down his back. He laughed quietly - a half-distressed noise marrying the sound, but managed a breathy wheeze of, “You remind me of home too.”
Grover kissed the top of his head. For the first time since arriving, he shattered. All his twisted up emotions committed out in a tidal wave of tears and broken gasps. All the while Grover held him. As tight as Percy clung to him, he didn't complain. Just held on even tighter. Wetness from Grover's own tears smeared across Percy's skin.
Ever the empathetic. Like his mom.
Percy squeezed his eyes shut. “Please don't leave without saying goodbye,” he begged in a hollow, hoarse whisper.
“I won't,” Grover promised.
They held onto each other even as tears and cries faded away. Grover kept stroking his back with both hands. Percy continued to cling.
Shoulders shaking, Percy wound the fabric of Grover's shirt over his fingers. After a few minutes of toiling silence, he whispered. “I think I'm changing.” He pressed his forehead to Grover's collarbone. “I'm scared.” He pulled back and stared into Grover's eyes. “What do I do?”
“Be my best friend,” Grover said, like it was the simplest answer in the world. And as soon as the words fell off his tongue, it did. How silly was Percy not to think of it before? “My best friend is a good person, the best kind of wild.”
“I can do that,” Percy promised. “I swear, I can do that.”
“I know,” Grover said, squeezing Percy's cheek. His thumb swiped away at a still wet tear under Percy's eye. The stroke was soft, gentle. Kind. “I believe you.”

pairing: percy jackson x fem!gf!reader, dark!luke castellan x fem!reader
summary: as if it wasn’t enough for percy to be claimed much quicker than himself, he just had to be with luke’s dream girl. or the one where luke can’t seem to take his eyes off of percy’s girlfriend.
warnings: obsession, jealousy, pining, unrequited love, age gap (14/16 to bring it closer together so aged up percy n you) manipulation
wordcount: 850 words
a/n: heheh in the mood to drive luke to hate percy for having the girl he’s always wanted even though percy had her first - 5/01/24 it’s been brought to my attention the ages might be seen as odd, it’s meant to say you’re 14 and luke is 16 to make it more comfortable.
he didn’t deserve you at all, he wasn’t worthy.
luke could treat you better than a child. when you’d first arrived he couldn’t believe the fact that percy himself was your boyfriend. you were too gorgeous to be with such a clueless idiot.
so he tried his best to at least be your friend in the start.
always accompanying you from your cabin, to breakfast, somehow always ending up at the front of the line with as much food you could wish for. always enthralling you with tales of the time before you arrived. letting you know about the camp, the people, who to watch out for and who to be friends with.
as if he’d let you be with anyone else besides him.
during training he was always more than happy to help you, to teach you, to be close to you. fixing your posture, positioning you properly. he could imagine himself and you, his girlfriend, protecting and helping her. but his bubble was always burst when percy would make his way to you with a smile, talking about what he’d just learnt and the people he’d just met.
in the two days you’d been there you felt yourself trusting luke.
your sweet smile made everything better in his day, but he despised it when it wasn’t directed towards him. percy’s arm around your waist, your head on his shoulder, percy tying your hair up for you, your hands wiping the dust off of him when he fell.
luke wouldn’t have fallen, luke wasn’t that stupid.
luke could hold his own, whilst percy seemed to stumble his way through everything.
he had to hold himself back from strangling percy when walking with him. he was only aiding percy in finding his ‘special skill’ because you’d asked him to. and all luke learned from the experience was that percy was an imbelice. he couldn’t do anything right.
what on earth did you see in him?
you couldn’t sleep, thinking of your quest tomorrow. usually they were taken on by three but percy insisted on anabeth, grover and you. which you were glad for, grover was your friend as well as anabeth, you’d just hoped that all four of you will make it back.
the water was calm, you wondered if it was because of percy being sound asleep. did percy control the waters around him?
your silly questions ran through your head ever since your boyfriend had been claimed. yourself and percy were having the time of your life together, on a journey together. that night the two of you had sat right here, worries running around, the two of you reassuring eachother with promises of safety and return.
his sweet smile, his pretty curls, you loved him with your whole heart, even if you were young.
“y/n?” luke called out to you as you waved, “luke! come to say goodbye?” you teased as he laughed, “sadly yes, how are you feeling?” the night enveloped the two of you in darkness, eachothers presence comforting the other. “as fine as a girl about to go on a literal quest out of a damn movie would be.”
his arm came around you, pulling you into him, “what’re you doing?” you questioned luke, unsure of the close proximity. “it’s fine, calm down.” he pushed your head down into his shoulder, mimicking your earlier actions with percy, minus the love.
you lifted your head quickly, trying to stand up but luke dragged you back down, “get off! let me go luke, i want to go sleep.” his grip was harsh on your wrist, “stop shouting, do you want to make a fuss about the whole camp?” that shut you up quickly, you weren’t exactly in the mood to start up a scene in the middle of the night.
“why don’t you let me go then?” you whispered to him. “why are you going on the quest?” he asked, his eyes were darkened with anger, his tone unwelcoming, a clear juxtaposition to luke’s previous warm embrace of yourself and percy.
“percy wants me to, and i want to. that’s all anyone seems to wait for around here, glory.” he let go of your wrist, speaking with a soft voice, the entire change of his demeanour was off-puting. “shouldn’t you be enough? why does he want annabeth to come along?” you cocked your head to the side confused, “you of all people know how amazing she is, anabeth is the biggest asset to have and an incredible fighter luke.” he loved when you said his name but the sadness in your voice was evident and irritating, almost as much as your boyfriend.
“percy should trust you, believe in you to help him.” and the seed of doubt was in place successfully.
“i don’t know okay! but it’s not like i can stop it, goodnight luke.” you didn’t want to give him a chance to stop you, so you jogged back to your cabin, unsettled and confused.
luke slept nicely that night.
luke would make sure you saw him, all of him.
and how much better he was then percy, you were meant to be.

i love this idea!!
luke castellan x daughter of poseidon!reader
warnings: persassy (once again), fluff, mention of kissing, ignorance of the plot of the show for the sake of my happiness
nobody: me gaslighting myself into thinking i could fix luke:
You and your boyfriend had an agreement. Your relationship was private. It wasn’t necessarily a secret, but it was private.
This was a conclusion you came to before Percy arrived at camp, before you knew you had a brother. At first, you didn’t care much if he figured it out.
That was until you realized what a sassafras he was.
Percy was always sassing you about chores, about activities, and especially about camp boys.
You thought it was cute in the beginning, your little brother being protective over you, but then it became a real nuisance.
“Y/n, stay away from the Ares boys, I don’t like them.”
“Y/n, don’t date an Apollo guy, he’d write you some crappy poetry.”
“Y/n, for the love of gods, stay away from the Dionysus twins, I never want to have Mr. D as a relative.”
These were the types of things you would hear throughout the day as Percy got to know the other campers better.
You thought it better if you kept a low profile when you were around Luke, at least until Percy calmed down a little.
Most of the older campers knew about your relationship, but they were used to it and rarely talked about it.
“Having marriage problems?” Annabeth asked you one day during arts and crafts, where you were both about to give up on your ugly collaborative birdhouse.
“What? I’m not married,” you said, trying to fix a particularly garish looking bird.
She set her paintbrush down, officially proving she was over it. “Obviously. I mean Luke. I noticed you haven’t been around each other as much.”
You could tell she was a little worried. She wouldn’t be asking if she wasn’t. Annabeth had known you and Luke longer than any other campers, and she looked up to both of you. Plus, she always wanted to know about your experience with romance.
“It’s not what you think, Annabeth. We’re really fine,” you said. “In fact, just last night, he took me out on the dock.”
Your nightly meetups with Luke had always been a thing, but had become more frequent as of late.
“And?” Annabeth prompted.
“And, we hung out.” You were now furiously painting over the entire bird you failed to fix.
“You mean you made out,” she said, giving you a knowing look.
“Well, yeah, but I didn’t think you were interested in that part,” you said. “Now pick up that paintbrush, missy. I’m not doing this whole thing myself.”
Annabeth reluctantly dipped the brush in some blue paint, looking like she wanted more details about your date.
Private means private, you thought dismissively.
At campfire, you discovered that private didn’t mean private. You were sitting alone when Percy plopped down next to you. You frowned because you were saving that spot for Luke.
“Annabeth has just told me something very interesting,” he said, glaring at the spot where Luke stood, talking to one of his brothers.
“What would that be, Perce?” you said absentmindedly.
“Apparently Luke was macking on you last night.” He made a sound to imitate vomiting.
You grimaced. “Please never say that word again.”
“So? Is it true or not true?”
You sighed. No point in denying it now. “It’s true.”
Percy somehow managed to look even more disgusted. “Ew, why him?”
You rolled your eyes. “Oh, gee, I don’t know, maybe because I’ve known him for years, he’s kind, strong, and handsome. Wouldn’t you think that had something to do with it?”
“Oh, gods, forget I even asked,” Percy said, retching. “I just think you could do better. Look at all of these lovely candidates. Apollo guys are poets.”
“I thought that was too cringe for you.”
He ignored you and went on, “A Hephaestus guy could forge you some nice jewelry, and Athena guys are smart. You deserve a smart guy. Not Luke, no, he doesn’t have any good qualities like that.”
You noticed a figure approaching you over Percy’s shoulder, and you tried your best to hide the amused smile threatening to break across your face as Luke came to a stop behind him, waiting for the right moment to interrupt.
“All in all, Y/n, I think Luke’s a pretty bad guy for you. You should really reconsider.”
“Oh, I’m a bad guy, am I?” Luke finally spoke up, smirking as Percy slowly turned around to see him peering down at him.
“Not like a bad guy- just, you know, not right for my sister,” Percy said, his confidence leaving him.
“What makes me not right for her?” Luke asked, clearly loving the reaction he was getting.
“I- uh- you know,” Percy stammered.
“Oh, knock it off, Luke. Leave the poor kid alone,” you said, failing to hide your laughter.
“That sound is music to my ears,” Luke said seriously. Jeez, he was really laying it on thick.
Percy’s face returned to the look of disgust. “I’ll be leaving now,” he excused himself, hurrying off to where Grover and Annabeth were sitting on the other side of the fire. You could still see him glaring at Luke as he sat down next to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulders.
You leaned into him, relishing in the combined warmth of the fire and his body heat. “What do you think? Am I getting sassed out tomorrow?” Luke asked, looking down at you.
“No, he looked pretty grossed out. I’m hoping he just avoids the topic altogether,” you said, trailing your fingers over the fabric of his shirt.
“We both know that’s not going to happen,” he concluded, smiling as he pressed a soft kiss to your temple.

Honestly, Luke was starting to feel bad.
Every free moment he gets to spend with you, he’s been falling asleep. He fell asleep during your lunch picnic last week, sprawled out on the red and white checkered blanket—cheek against your lap as you read a book, on your shoulder at the bonfire last night even with Percy and Grover trying to screech out the lyrics to ‘Unwritten’, and even now as you brush through his curls as you read all of cabin 11 a bedtime story.
Luke knows that dating a daughter of Hypnos has some advantages for sure—you get to stay in the bunk next to his since you don’t have your own cabin, your dad blesses him with nice dreams for taking care of you, and everyone quiets down easier for the night as you project images of sheep for them to fall asleep to. But as he rubs his eyes to the sound of your calming voice, he reckons he’d punch the shit out of a sheep if another misty image of one decides to trot near the air of his bunk. You’re nestled against his arm, looking ethereal with moonlight shining against your cheekbones as you watch his eyelashes flutter slowly from the weight of his eyelids.
“You need to stop doing that, my dream girl.”
“Hmm?” you whisper, voice breathy like cool air. Yawning, you press your cheek against his bicep with a smile.
“Stop putting me to sleep. Wanna spend time with you,” he mumbles, trying to not wake the other campers.
“M’not doing anything, Lu. Besides, you’re cute when you’re asleep,” you chuckle, and his arms wrap around you tighter as his hands dip into his pajama pants you stole from his dresser.
“Are you saying I’m not cute now?” he pouts, reaching to tickle the skin that peeks out from under your shirt and you giggle. The sound of it is loud enough to echo across the cabin, but something extra must have been in your voice tonight because not a single camper stirs.
In a room full of people, the two of you share a moment that’s just for the both of you, watching each other quietly with soft loving smiles. Moving closer to his face, your lips press kisses into the lines that crease his forehead, the scar running down his cheek, the tip of his nose, and finally the plump of his pouting lips. He pulls you in deeper, smiling softly against your kiss that’s ever so gentle until he’s drifting off…
You don’t take offense to it though. Sleep is your gift bestowed to you by your godrent, and to share that with your love makes it the best gift of all.
Luke jolts up the next morning after his nose dips into his bowl of cereal. The nymphs and younger campers all chatter and giggle around you two as he grumbles, shoving another mouthful of now soggy Frosted Flakes into his mouth. You smile, stroking the hair at the nape of his neck, taking a bite of your waffle.
“You okay, baby?”
He huffs, kissing the back of your hand before you stand up to go and grab napkins. Annabeth rolls her eyes from across the table, which makes Luke toss a chunk of banana at her.
“What?”
“You’re too dramatic for your own good, Luke,” she sighs, stirring her iced coffee with a straw. She looks at him exasperatedly when he looks more confused by her statement, even if it’s the truth.
“I just feel like a bad boyfriend. Always falling asleep on her. Never do that with anyone else, and sometimes I think she does it on purpose…” he says, leaning against his palm.
“It’s the oxytocin,” Annabeth says, and Luke looks at her blankly, “Your brain releases oxytocin around people you love, and as a result you feel safe and at ease—which is why you keep falling asleep around her. So stop blaming your girlfriend!” She shakes her head like the old soul she is, getting up to clear her tray and leave Luke to his nonsense. You return to the table with a handful of napkins and a grin that instantly brightens his mood.
Rubbing at his eyes, he can see you more clearly and to your surprise, Luke pulls you by the chin for a kiss as he says thank you.
“What’s that for? Can’t be because of the napkins,” you giggle, and a dopey smile crosses his face.
“Because I love you, my dream girl. That’s all.”

Favorite Jackson
Day of five celebration marathon
Tumblr media
Yan!camp half blood x Male!Jackson!reader
-£ Ask: Yan camp half bloods (specifically Grover, Percy, and Annabeth) for Percy's older brother, also son of posiden who takes after Sally just SO much, and bakes cookies for everyone and takes care of them even if they are mad at him.
-£ words: 900
-£ warning: short, yandere behavior, protective over the reader, stalking themes, reader being a bit naive, drowning themes?
Tumblr media
it was always the son of Poseidon to calm down the campers in their time of need. ares cabin hated that they couldn’t find it in themselves to be mean to him. they only wanted to be near him and fight anyone that came near him. even his own brother, percy.
y/n was always near his brother when he was at camp. he was protective over his little brother but everyone new that Percy was the one to take care of things. sure, y/n would glare at someone that would say something mean but it was percy who handled things much differently.
“do you have everything?” Y/n looked over his brother with a worded look in his eyes, looking so much like his mother.
“Yeah, calm down.” Percy smiled and laughed at his brother, “I’ve done this before.” y/n huffed out his cheeks and flicked his forehead.
“I’m worried about you! Now don’t be a little brat,” percy could only smirked and rub his forehead. “I baked some cookies for your trip, make sure you share with Annabeth.”
percy took the bag of blue cookies, “no problems.”
speaking of annabeth, she often watched him from afar to make sure no one bothered him. but she loved him like family. someone that took the roll of Luke when he left but annabeth would make sure he would never leave her. this time she was going to have family that stuck.
Grover, the satyr was very manipulating. he only liked it when y/n hung around the trio. he’d say that the other kids were mean to him so he could get attention. you had to take care of percy when he got picked on at school, so you were protective over anyone who got bullied.
“Guys,” you groan as they tug your arm around camp, “I was enjoying a meal.” Your own stomach making noises at the thought of food.
“We need some to watch us train,” percy looked up at his brother, “I thought you’d help me? Or, maybe- oh, I get it. You think it’s lame to help your little brother?” and you played right into his little trap.
“I can’t believe you’d say that, you know that’s not true.” You push his head and roll your eyes and end up following them to the training ground where they fought to get your praise and attention.
now, you did try and take care of the younger campers of any cabin but ares and aphrodites childs were clingy, and so were the hermes kids.
ares kids likes to try and impress you with their fighting skills and aggression. aphrodites kids like to tug you around and play with your hair, even if it was short, and make you learn how to braid.
hermes kids like to pull you away by any means necessary. infected someone’s clothes so they break out in hives and itch like crazy. maybe start to stealing things and hind them around. or, simply ask you to help them because you could never refuse.
percy hated everyone for stealing his brother away from him, didn’t they know you cared about him the most? as much as everyone hated to admit, but percy had you wrapped around his finger. just like his mom you wanted to care for him, make him happy and keep him safe.
all he had to do was look at you with his puppy eyes and say, “please big brother?” and it was like he was five again and needed your help to pick up his toys. hints why you always helped him do his chores.
but when it comes to protecting you? Percy doesn’t care who he has to team up with, someone is going down.
“I’m fine Percy, really.” You wiped the tear off your check and feel ashamed of crying in front of your brother. but you were so frustrated and embarrassed! you were a few years older then percy and still you couldn’t fight like him! Heck your own father didn’t trust you to go on missions with percy, or anyone else at camp.
“Don’t give me that,” Percy patted your shoulder with a small drop in his voice. you couldn’t see the darkness in his eye as he tried to soothe you.
“Who were you training with?”
as soon as you answer he knew exactly what he was going to do, have a little chat with that person. once he got you to calm down he gave you a smile. he offered to go get you something from the kitchens and you just nodded and stayed put in your shared cabin.
which is why he was next to clarisse who stood with her arms crossed. both had a glint in their eyes but for the first time not at each other but the kid on the ground.
“I swear I didn’t mean to hurt him! he asked me to teach him something but he didn’t do as I said,” the kid kept backing away from the two but they just kept creeping closer.
“And who said you could train them?” clarisse asked with darting tone.
“Yeah, who said you could train my brother? Out all people, you don’t have the right.” Percy hissed and leaps forward to grab ahold of the collar of his camp shirt.
“I think you need a lesson.” the boy whimpered and shook his head while pleading but it feel deaf to their ears.
clarisse took him from percy and dragged him to the lake as the sun had almost set. she threw and evil look at percy as the corner of her lips tugging into a smirk.
“water is your specialty, Jackson.” She threw him back down into the water.
“Show him what you got.”

Strings of Fate: The Puppet-Master
Luke Castellan x Child of Poseidon!/Blood-Bender! Reader
Summary: The reader finds themself in the throws of a God's war, learning about themself and the world around them. They decide the confide in Luke Castellan about their unique ability to manipulate the water in blood.
~Sorry if Luke is a little OOC I tried my best~
Trigger Warnings: Self-harm *one instance and is healed quickly*, Canon Typical Violence, Blood, Loss of a Loved One *Sally Jackson*, and Emotional Distress
As Sally Jackson’s oldest child, I've always been a little overprotective of my little brother Percy Jackson. This included taking the fall for him at school so his transcript stayed as clean as possible. I became a force to be reckoned with because people beat up on Percy, and after a while, no one wanted to mess with Percy’s psycho older sibling. Or at our latest school when Percy stabbed through his pre-algebra teacher with a gleaming golden sword that was a ballpoint pen the moment before, and I tried my best to mitigate the situation.
After that, life was a blur. Going to the cabin and learning about our dad was a crazy moment because Mom rarely spoke about him. Yet, we were utterly unprepared for the loss of our mother.
“You are my children, brave the storm. I love you.”
Then we were running away from our mom and away from the minotaur. We saw Sally Jackson turn to dust in the minotaur’s grasp, and in a second, Percy was running back and fighting the minotaur. Grover grabbed my arm and shook his head at me, but I ripped away and ran towards the only family I know I have left.
On his back, holding one of the minotaur’s horns in his hands and groaning, I shouted at the thing towering over him ready to strike in a moments notice.
“Hey! Get away from him!”
It turned toward me and huffed at me. For a moment I was scared, then I started throwing rocks. I was angry and used as much force possible. Then it grasped me in its fist like mom and started to squeeze. I began to give up, but then something spoke to me.
“Reach out, Y/n, take control.”
Following the advice literally, I extended my hand toward the minotaur. Closing my eyes, I waited, striving for control. Its hold around me loosened, and I found myself taking a look at what’s happening around me. I got a glimpse of the minotaur’s blood flowing from its nose into the air. Percy jumped into the air and stabbed the back of the minotaur’s skull with its own horn.
~~~
Luke put his arm around my shoulders when I stopped reciting the story and gave me a little squeeze.
“Hey, it's gonna be okay. We’re going to figure this out together.”
I tucked my face in the crook of his neck and kept crying. The night was cool around us in the woods near the cabins.
“I’m so scared, and I just don’t know what’s happening to me. I mean, what am I supposed to do? I’m just trying to keep it together for Percy because he’s already scared and upset, but I’m scared and upset too, Luke.”
He put his hand on my head and threaded his fingers through my hair. Luke let me cry until I calmed down, and I decided I wanted to show him.
“Give me your dagger…”
“What?”
“Please, I need to prove it to myself… I’m not crazy.”
He slid the dagger from his sheath and flipped it to hand me the hilt. I quickly and carefully split the inside of my palm open. Luke took a sharp intake of breath as I squeezed my hand into a fist.
“Y/n, what are you doing?”
I unclenched my fist and focused on the cut. I closed my eyes and let myself be in control.
“How the Hades are you doing that?”
Again, I allowed my eyes to open, and my blood was flowing around my hand and into the air. After a deep breath, my blood hit the floor of the forest.
“Come here.”
He held out his hand, and I took it in my not bloody one as he led me to a small creek not too far away. He submerged my hand into the creek, and it started to heal immediately.
“Thanks, Luke. I just… I’m not crazy.”
“I believed you before, you know.”
“Maybe I didn’t,” I said quietly.
He enveloped me in his arms, and I allowed myself to fall apart completely. After all this time of keeping Percy out of trouble and protecting him, it felt nice to be held and taken care of.
“Come on, let's get you to bed, and we’ll talk in the morning. Okay?”
“Yeah, that sounds good.”
After a minute, he pulled away and led me by the hand to Cabin 3 carefully, avoiding the harpies looking for campers out of bed.
“Could you stay?”
“I can do that, as long as you don’t mind getting up a little early and waking up Hermes Cabin.”
“Yeah, I can do that with you.”
“I’m going to sleep in Percy’s bed so I don’t crowd you, you know.”
“Yeah, just with Percy gone, it’s lonely… I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t sharing a room with someone.”
“I’ll be here. Get to sleep, I’m sure you’re tired.”
I tiredly climbed into my bed as Luke climbed into the bed that Percy slept in not a day ago. As I went to sleep, I heard Luke’s soft breaths fill the cabin.
~~~
I woke up with a start, and Luke had his hand on my arm.
“Hey, Hey, youre okay. You just had a bad dream Darling. You’re okay. Take some deep breaths.”
I quickly blinked, vaguely remembering the nightmare I had. I saw Mom disintegrating into nothing, and then Percy in the minotaur’s fist, life draining from his eyes and disintegrating into nothing. Particles of ash mingling with Mom’s.
“Breathe with me, Y/n. In and out. In and out.”
I slowly matched my erratic breathing with his, and as the minutes went by, I started to calm down.
“See, you’re okay. I promise everything is okay. You’re safe.”
“T-thank you, Luke… Sorry for waking you up.”
“Hey, it’s okay. I just want to help you, Darling.”
“Still…”
A couple more deep breaths.
“Are you okay now, darling?”
“I’m okay now, thank you.”
“I’m gonna go back to sleep so I can get up in a few hours, okay?”
He took one step, and I reached for his hand.
“Could you… hold me, please?”
He just smiled at me and lifted the covers to get underneath.

THL but Percy doesn't go anywhere.
He and Annabeth are patrolling the Camp boundaries and hear something.
They go to inspect it, hear a roar and that silence.
Jason stumbles towards them, terrified.
He looks like he's been running for days, his clothes are wrecked, he's littered with injuries.
And he's missing his shoes.
He reaches out to them in panic and says something neither understand.
Before blacking out.
Waking up in the infirmary with no memory of how he got here.
Nor any memory of who he is.
He struggles to speak and manages to clumsily write "Jason" on a notebook but that's all.
Piper and Leo came to camp around 2 months ago are getting to know this crazy world and their new lives.
Piper, not content with how the Aphrodite cabin is being looked down on.
And no one wanting to teach her how to fight.
And it being Clarisse of all people who ends up mentoring her.
Some say its out of respect for her old friend, some say its because Piper reminds her of her.
Leo, getting to know his new siblings but he tries and fails to keep them at arms length.
He refuses to use his fire.
And has not told anyone about it's existence. For the fear it will ruin everything like it always does.
But it's getting harder to keep it a secret.
And maybe part of him... Wants to believe it's a blessing and not a curse.
Their paths cross when Jason starts to have dreams about a woman calling for his aid.
Because he's not the only one having them.
Cue Percy cursing in the corner.
Jason while he can speak he sometimes struggling with his words.
And sometimes makes barking noises.
Grover thinks he could be of the wild but has no idea what or how.
Because while Jason doesn't have a strong scent, it's definitely of a demigod.
Perhaps he was blessed? Not that Grover can see it.
But it's not the biggest thing to worry about.
Though he has sent like... 3 people to the infirmary from biting them.
They startled him.
... So there's that.
Piper and Leo are trying to figure out their dreams together with Jason.
But he's having other other ones they aren't getting.
A wolf calling out to him.
Saying that the God's have stolen her pup and she will have him returned.
Jason doesn't know who she is but she feels familiar.
They manage to piece togrther that the woman is Hera.
Annabeth calmly gets up and punches a hole in the wall.
Because... Of course it's Hera.
When the, annoyance somewhat fades away Percy wonders why no one from Olympus has said anything.
They ask Mr D but he has no idea what they are talking about.
Jason can't help but feel the wolf in his dreams seems familiar.
And he feels the same way when the hunters of Artemis show up and the eyes of their lieutenant fall on him.
Thalia knows it's him.
She tells Annabeth as much.
"It's him, it's Jason."
"Thalia..."
"I know it's crazy, I know it's insane but it's him... Its him..."
"Okay, if you say it's him."
She doesn't get to confront him on it until during Capture the flag.
"Jason! Jason please, it's me?"
"I'm sorry I don't..."
Thalia wants to scream but she doesn't, she needs to be calm.
It's him.
She knows it's him.
Their attacked by campers and from being distracted she's knocked down.
A rage fills Jason that he hasn't felt before.
... He knows her...
Lighting bursts from his body in all directions, shocking the now scared campers away from Thalia.
"GET AWAY FROM MY SISTER!"
He rushes past, helping her up.
"Thalia?"
"You.. You remember me?"
"A little... I'm sorry... I'm sorry I forgot."
She makes a sound that's a mix of a sob and a laugh and pulls him into a hug.
He hides his face in Thalia's shoulder not liking the attention. When he realises everyone is looking at him.
Or rather above him.
At the lighting bolt above him.
"All hail, Jason Grace. Son of Zeus, King of Olympus, Lord of the Sky. God of Thunder, Lightning, Kingship, Honor and Justice. All hail Jason Grace, son of the Lighting God."
Everyone's talking about what?! Zeus had another child?!
The chatter dies down when Rachel, who upon seeing Jason, glows bright green and da da da daaaa the oracle has entered the building.
Child of lighting
Beware the earth.
The earth giants revenge the seven shall birth.
The dove and the forge will break the cage.
And death unleash through Hera's rage.
Quest plays out and Jason gets his memories back.
Remembers that he's the son of Jupiter
Returns to camp.
And a lighting bolt appears overhead, this time with a numeral beside it.
For 1.
Chiron smiles sadly, taking it as acceptance to share the truth.
Tells the story of the Roman and Greek demigods.
"And our Jason, is not the son of Zeus but his Roman counterpart Jupiter."
Everyone reels taking in this information.
And while many are suspicious of the Romans, Jason has become a good friend and ally to them.
"Lupa said... That I must return... Maybe that's the next step?" Says Jason, standing tall. "Woah, hey we're not gonna let you alone." Says Percy, "agreed" Says Annabeth, Piper and Leo nods.
"I'm not losing you again." Says Thalia.
Not happy by Hera's explanation of having to keep them seperated.
Jason smiles warmly "than we shall go. To Camp Jupiter, together."
"Togrther!"

My Thoughts on Ep.06 - We Take a Zebra to Vegas, A rant (SPOILERS AHEAD!)
Actual Iris-messaging on screen! Good way to start the episode.
Yes, toss the drachma, SEAWEED BRAIN!
If you want the gods’ attention, you have to pay for it. Eh, not surprised since it’s kinda how children have to do to get their parents’ attention these days.
Wtf is Luke Castellan doing in Chiron’s office?
We know who stole the bolt. (Book-readers, we know who stole the bolt!)
*Calm expression* How do you know? and not *gasp* Really? Who is it? Very sus. 🤔
I do have a love-hate relationship with Clarisse La Rue as a character, but accusing her as the lightning thief? OH, HELL NO!
This convo:
Luke: Guys, what is this?
Percy and Annabeth: What?
Luke: When did you turn into an old married couple?
Percy and Annabeth:
Tumblr media
Everyone in the fandom:
Tumblr media
Luke channeling his big brother energy by teasing Annabeth, his little sister, to a boy her age. Annabeth’s going through that older-sibling-embarrassing-you-in-front-of-your-crush stage. It’s just typical sibling stuff.
Annabeth, externally: *pokerface*; Annabeth, internally: STOP EMBARRASSING ME!
Confirmed: Luke ships Percabeth. 🥰
Percy changing the subject because he’s also embarrassed.
Annabeth cuts off the connection before Percy can mention Hermes and tells him Luke and his dad aren’t on good terms.
Grover just figured out that the truck is driven by animal traffickers and insists that they free the animals is absolute peak characterization.
They’re like artists. Proceeds to release the animals in the middle of traffic.
How that convo basically went:
Percy: Idk about this, man.
Grover: Oh, they’ll be fine. I gave them the satyr’s blessing so they’ll be able to reach the wilderness safely.
Percy: Dude, I meant for these people.
Grover: Oh, uh, it’s fine. These people destroyed nature so idgaf about them. But the animals are fine, so let’s go!
Percy: So, which hotel is the Lotus Casino? It could be any building-
Annabeth: Duh! Obviously, it’s the one with the giant lotus blossom on it.
Percy: Seriously?
3 minors walking into a Casino hotel. Totally normal and not suspicious at all.
Dua Lipa’s Levitating instead of Lady Gaga’s Pokerface. I ain’t even mad.
WISE GIRL! WISE GIRL! WISE GIRL! HE CALLED HER WISE GIRL! 😍🥰
Of course, Annabeth insists Percy goes with her. Percabeth! 😍
Annabeth tells Percy about May Castellan, Luke’s Mom. It’s kinda early to know about this, but I’m not complaining. It just justifies Luke’s resentment of Hermes in the show.
Grover: *finds Augustus, a fellow Satyr* *Forgets everything*
Please tell me someone else heard some kid calling out BIANCA in the background. It's not just me, right? Please tell me it's the di Angelo siblings in the Lotus Casino. UNCLE RICK, WE NEED ANSWERS!
Percy explaining his nightmares and asks if they are real.
How that convo went:
Annabeth: Hmm, idk
Percy: How do you not know?
Annabeth: I may be smart but there are things I don’t know.
Percy: Wtf does that make me then?
Hermes/Alexander Hamilton not throwing away his shot. How does a bastard, son of a god and a Pleiad. Grow up to be a master trickster, according to Homer’s Illiad…
In Vegas you can be a new man...apparently, not.
Hermes: I’m not doing this again. You’re on your own, kids. Bye!
Annabeth: We’re friends of Luke’s.
Hermes: *surprise pikachu face* Damn it, let’s talk.
Hermes being an epitome of another crappy absent godly parent. Not surprised.
Annabeth doing what probably Luke taught her to do:
Annabeth: So I stole Hermes’ keys.
Percy: You what?
Annabeth: I turned invisible and picked his pocket.
Percy: You stole from the god of thieves?
Annabeth: Yes, I’m multi-talented. Lol
Percy: *lowkey falls in love*
The lotus fruit being pumped into the air is something new.
Percy: Grover got really old. 🤣
Percy and Annabeth chases Augustus around while Grover’s playing VR games.
Grover forgetting things because he was alone, while Percy and Annabeth remember because they have each other. PERCABETH!
Grover acting all carefree like a dentist just sedated him with nitrous oxide, while Percy and Annabeth are frantically looking for Hermes’ car will never be not funny.
TO THE DUMB KIDS. Yep, that note is for you.
Percy: So, who’s driving?
Percy and Annabeth turning to Grover because he’s the adult.
Grover: *still high* Idk man. Idk what we're even doing here.
Percy: Ok, I’ll do it. How hard can it be. If I killed the Minotaur, I can drive a cab.
Percy: How hard could this be? Proceeds to hit the car on several columns.
Percy getting angry because another car didn’t slow down and nearly hit them, then slamming the horn. Bruh, you’re inner New Yorker is showing and I’m here for it.
This scene: 😍😍😍
Tumblr media
Me, watching this scene:
Tumblr media
Percy and Annabeth smiling at each other then realizing the car’s scraping the wall. This shit cracked me up.
The truck nearly hitting them gave me a mini-heart attack. Good thing they’re in Hermes’ cab.
Percy half-nervous and half-excited to finally meet his Dad only to find a Nereid instead, giving him 4 teleportation pearls as a gift.
The title implying they took a Zebra to Vegas but we see no zebra? Come on! Anyway, that was a good episode. Can't wait for the Percy vs Ares showdown next week.

growing pains
happy birthday @perseannabeth i would do this literally for nobody else in the entire universe. blowing u a big wet kiss hope u have the best time ever xxxxx
Jason Grace has a problem and he has nowhere else to go.
“I’m not really sure what you want me to do.” Annabeth plays with the lemon slice in her cosmo. To say  she’d listened to his whining patiently is generous. He’d just about managed to hold her attention long enough to explain his situation, but she’d looked about a second away from falling asleep through his entire narration. Now she just glances desperately over her shoulder, as if she’s praying for someone to call her away.
“You could try to look like you want to talk to me, for starters.” Jason says flatly.
“Oh– no, sorry, Jason.” Annabeth’s smile is sheepish. “It’s just that, you know.”
“What?”
“You talk about Piper all the time.” She tells him. “I can listen to it once, maybe twice– but this is getting out of hand. I have the same advice now as I did three years ago when you first met her: ask her out and then shut up. Please.”
It’s easy for Annabeth to say it. The girl’s got everything going for her. She’s pretty, she’s clever, and she’s a lot of fun to be around. She could have asked any boy she wanted out and they’d be tripping over themselves for the opportunity. And, to really rub it into his woefully single self, by some miraculous stroke of luck, she’d found Percy Jackson– who matches her in every way possible and lifts her up like it’s what he’s built to do.
Jason is not like Percy Jackson. Percy has an effortless way about him– when he walks into a room, everyone turns to him. He doesn’t try to stand out, doesn’t put himself up on a podium to be heard– people gravitate towards him because he simply is. Jason isn’t even like Annabeth Chase. Her brilliance shines through her every step, and she has an inexplicable romance about her–  it’s impossible not to fall slightly in love by just breathing the air around her. Jason is definitely nothing like Piper McLean, either. Piper is loud, obnoxious– but even in her belligerence, she’s understated. The part of her that she puts up on display is nothing like the quiet, contemplative girl she hides with layers and layers of armour. Both versions of her, if you’re lucky enough to see them, have something so innately likeable about them– she’s easy-going and calm and has this wonderful way of mollifying his most obstreperous anxieties.
What does Jason have? He’s measured, controlled because he’s terrified of letting his most primal, baseless fears get the best of him. He’s not particularly funny, and his only way to command attention is to boss people around, which he’s been told, multiple times (thanks, Percy), is a deeply unattractive quality. He’s not really the kind of man who should have the audacity to ask women out, really.
“I need to do something else.” He shakes his head. Asking her out is not an option. “I need you to get her out of my house.”
“Listen to yourself.” Annabeth groans. “How am I possibly meant to remove a person from your apartment? It’s not like I can spray roach repellent on her and cleanse your space of her.”
“Don’t call her a roach.” Jason frowns.
“You’re the one asking me to shoo her away.”
“Just invite her to your place!” Jason cries. “Say you want to, I don’t know– say you want some girl time with her and she can crash on your couch. Seriously, Annabeth. I can’t keep waking up to my best friend wandering about the kitchen in her jammies. It’s too domestic. I start to feel things.”
“Here’s a thought for you: maybe I don’t want to have her on my couch.” Annabeth makes a face at him. “Percy’s basically moved in and Beckendorf’s always around with Silena and Grover and Clarisse are always around, and sometimes Juniper and Chris tag along as well because both of those relationships are getting serious now, and not to mention Nico, who drops in unannounced all the time, or Tyson, or my brothers, or Silena’s sister– if I have to fit one more person in our two-bedroom flat, I think it’s going to explode.”
“I don’t know how you and Percy are still that close to your high school friends.” Jason says. “I only keep in touch with Reyna and Gwen, and that’s only because they moved to New York with me.”
“I actually had a good time in high school.” Annabeth smiles sweetly at him. “I wasn’t bullied and I didn’t hang out with the losers.”
“You’d have bullied me if you knew me in high school.” Jason says, and Annabeth nods.
“Yeah, I probably would’ve.”
“Back to my point,” Jason knows Annabeth is gifted when it comes to distracting and manipulating people, but he’s not going to fall for it. He needs a solution to his Piper problem, and he needs it now. “Please make Piper move out.”
“No.” Annabeth says forcefully. Then she hesitates. “Sorry. That was harsh. Have you considered that there’s a reason she asked to stay with you? She didn’t ask me. Didn’t ask Percy– and he has a whole spare room she could use, considering he spends all his time in my cramped apartment. She asked you.”
“Because we’re friends.”
“I’m her friend.”
“You compared her to a roach.”
“She’s used to it.” Annabeth shrugs. “I’ve called her much worse to her face.”
That’s another thing Jason doesn’t understand. Piper and Annabeth’s entire relationship is built on them bickering over absolutely nothing. A long time ago, Piper had confessed to him that she used to have a crush on Annabeth– that she’d goad her friend into arguments simply because it meant Annabeth was focusing on her. She’s never picked a fight with Jason before.
“Ugh.” Jason runs his hand over his face. When he looks up at his friend again, she’s downed the entirety of her cocktail in one impressive go. She signals the bartender for another one just as her boyfriend sidles up to them.
“How many drinks have you had?” Percy asks, studying her empty glass and wrapping his arms around her waist.
“It’s your turn to pick up the tab.” Annabeth sings, and Jason never gets tired of seeing the way she lights up around Percy. “I’ve been listening to Jason talk about Piper for three thousand years. I deserve whatever I drink.”
“I’m going to go broke dating her.” Percy tells Jason, not looking particularly bothered. He nuzzles Annabeth’s neck and she collapses in a fit of giggles. “And it’s all because you can’t ask a girl out.”
“That’s not true.” It sure is.
“Okay. How many girls have you asked out?” Percy raises an eyebrow.
“Well–,”
“None.” Annabeth fills in for him. “He waits, and waits, and waits until a girl asks him out.” She nudges Percy in the stomach with her elbow. “Sound familiar?”
“Hey.” Percy grabs the bottom of her barstool and swivels her away from the bar so she’s fully facing him. He leans his arms against the counter, boxing her in, and ducks his head until he’s at eye level with her. “I asked you out. Don’t you ever forget that.”
“Only after I kissed you.” Annabeth laughs. “Doesn't count.”
“Oh, it doesn’t count?” Percy scoffs. “I’m sorry, when’s our anniversary, again? Do we celebrate the day you kissed me and then ghosted me for two months?”
“That’s not what happened–”
“Can we get back to my problem!” Jason cries. “God, Annabeth. It’s impossible to hold a conversation with you.”
Annabeth shrugs, just as the bartender delivers her next drink, accompanied with an audacious wink. Her lips pull into a smug smile and she glances at Percy, whose jaw is set firmly but says nothing about it. All in one smooth motion, she rests her head against his chest and he shifts his weight from one foot to another, swaying her gently as his posture relaxes.
Is it so bad that Jason wants that? For someone to understand him, to soothe his insecurities and to want to know him so intimately? For someone to share his life with, for someone to listen when he speaks and listen when he doesn’t?
“Ask Percy.” She says finally.
Percy plucks her drink out of her hand and takes a long sip that clears half of it out. Good, Jason thinks. He’s watched Annabeth finish three of them already and he’d spotted her nursing a beer when he’d walked in. Whatever number she’s at, it’s well beyond human capacity, and the fact that she’s holding a conversation with him at all is pretty impressive.
“Ask Percy what?”
“Piper moved in with Jason while her apartment’s being fumigated.” Annabeth explains. “She’s crashing on his couch, but Jason thinks they’ve moved into domestic territory and it makes him want her more, and now he’s been complaining to me because he can neither tough it out for a couple of days nor pluck up the courage to ask her on a date. Charming, isn’t it?”
“God. She’s crashing on your couch?” Percy makes a face. “Why didn’t you offer to take the couch while she takes your bed? You’re meant to be a gentleman, Grace.”
“Well–,”
“Excuse me,” Annabeth cuts in. “Gentleman? This is coming from the same man who refuses to make me breakfast in bed the one time I asked him?”
“That’s different.” Percy says. “You were pretending to be sick so you could skip that stupid job interview. I don’t date cowards, Annabeth. You should know that.” Then he pokes Jason’s forehead. “Piper, on the other hand, just might have to.”
“I’m not a coward.” Jason crosses his arms over his chest. Their friends are scattered through the entire bar, but his eyes keep drifting to the girl in the corner, swaying her arm along to the music so she appears just engaged enough that nobody will bother her while she holds a seemingly riveting conversation with Leo. “I’m just… boring.”
“They’re not mutually exclusive.” Percy points out and Annabeth smacks him in the chest before turning to Jason.
“What are you talking about?” She demands. “Who told you that you were boring?”
“Well– you can barely stand to talk to me right now.” Jason shrugs. “It’s fine. I’m not insecure about it or anything. It’s just that she’s exciting. She’s like this livewire of energy and bad ideas and… I’m not. I’m too tame for her.”
“First of all,” Annabeth holds up her finger and Percy takes the opportunity to steal the rest of her drink. “You’re not boring. You just say boring things when you crib about Piper. Other times, you’re easily one of my favourite people in the world.”
“Don’t flatter yourself, though.” Percy cuts in. Judging by the unfocused look in his eye, he’d done a pretty good job racking up a tab himself.  “She says it about everyone.”
“No, I’m serious.” Annabeth frowns up at him. Slowly, she leans forward to Jason, one hand outstretched. It draws him in, and he finds himself mimicking her. When they’re almost nose to nose, she flicks him on the forehead and he jumps back.
“Hey! What was that for?”
“For calling yourself boring.” Annabeth says. “The worst thing you can be in this world is boring. Or a serial killer, but you’re definitely not one of those, I don’t think.” She tilts her head to the side and considers him, like she’s double-checking for herself. “You store so much useless information in that massive head of yours. So much. I have never witnessed anyone be so knowledgeable about the stupidest things the way you are. And you’re just bossy enough that you force me to listen to you blather on about it– which is good, by the way, because now I know that vacuum cleaners used to be horse-drawn back in the nineteenth century. How many people know about the evolution of the hoover? Exactly. None.”
“Also,” Percy adds, his hand sliding up Annabeth’s body with little elegance. “We now know what a tittle is. And that it has nothing to do with boobs.”
“So I’m good at pointless facts. Thanks.” Jason mutters. “Piper doesn’t care about facts. She’s all about adventure and finding the next cool thing. I’m not cool.”
“Secondly,” Annabeth continues. She points to where Piper and Leo are now howling with laughter. “That girl there is, like, one of my closest friends, alright? And she’s– she’s…”
“Annoying?” Percy supplies and Annabeth waves him off.
“She’s exciting. You’re right. She moves fast.” Annabeth says. “But it’s not what she wants. If you haven’t seen her for who she is– the quiet part of her that sits in the corner in parties, that hasn’t stopped looking over at you since you walked in– then I don’t know what to tell you. If you haven’t understood the part of her that wants someone to love her as fiercely as she loves her friends… if you don’t see who she really is, after three years of being her friend– Jason, maybe you don’t deserve her.”
Jason risks another glance at her, but this time he catches her looking at him. Immediately, she straightens up, turning her head back to Leo and trying her hardest to cover her face. It’s cute, he thinks. She’s cute.
“What I’m saying it– you don’t have to be amazing to ask her out, stupid.” Annabeth flicks him on the forehead again and he slaps her hand away. “It’s not like you’re asking for her hand in marriage. It’s one date.”
“Besides, between the three of us–,” Percy looks over his shoulder in Piper’s direction. “I think she thinks you’re pretty amazing as you are.”
“She definitely does.” Annabeth seems inexplicably pleased with herself for doing nothing, really, except maybe bruising Jason’s forehead. “So stop whining about the fact that you get to spend all day with the girl you have been relentlessly in love with for years, and start enjoying the time you have with her.”
“And if she says no?”
“Nothing changes.” Percy shrugs. “Literally nothing will change. You can come right back to being a miserable old man. Annabeth and I will buy you a pet to cheer you up, maybe.”
“Yeah.” Annabeth nods. “So either you ask her out and then have a chance at a girlfriend, or you get a puppy. Looks like a win-win situation.”
When she says it like that– it doesn’t sound all bad. Maybe Jason would be good for Piper. Maybe she’d be good for him. Unfortunately for him, his friends are right– he’s not going to know if he doesn’t ask. If three years worth of dates and fleeting relationships hadn’t distracted him… maybe he’s best off giving it a go.
“Okay. I’m going to do it.” He declares.
“Now?” Percy presses a kiss to the top of Annabeth’s head.
“God, no. If she says no– I don’t want to make a scene. It’s Dakota’s day today.”
“He’d like nothing more than to see you make a scene.” Annabeth yawns. Apparently she’s sped straight past every phase of drunkenness right into the exhaustion state. She rests her head on Percy’s chest and he gathers her up in his arms. “Just go for it,  Jason. You won’t make a scene and she won’t say no.”
“We should call a cab.” He says. “But tonight, Jason. Tonight, you make a move.”
He walks out of the bar with Annabeth and Percy, happy to wait for their Lyft with them. Annabeth is bundled up in Percy’s coat, his arm around her holding her steady. They’re conversing between themself, speaking in soft voices and a language nobody else is privy to. Plans for tomorrow, a recap of the night– it’s not for Jason to hear. It’s sweet– they complement each other in a way that suits them both.
Jason remembers the Annabeth he’d met at freshman orientation. The girl he’d shared a corridor with, the first friend he’d made in college. Annabeth from Before Percy was just as smart as the woman in front of him now— just as beautiful, just as sharp— but she was also desperately searching for something, hiding bits of her away because she was so afraid of being rejected. Today, she stands taller, has little to prove to the world; to herself. She’s confident in a way that inspires him— confident like she isn’t faking it anymore, and he has no doubt at all that it’s all Percy’s doing.
His mind drifts back to Piper, to the different sides of her that he’s had the pleasure of learning. Everyone has that— a tiny voice in their head that pushes them to be bigger, better, brighter to the world than they are. If Annabeth is any example– he lets himself believe for a moment that there’s a cure to that insecurity. That he could, in some way, be that cure for Piper the way she could be for him. That by finding the right person, the world won’t be as scary anymore.
The cab pulls up and Annabeth pauses, taking both of Jason’s hands in hers.
“Text me.” She says earnestly. “I want to celebrate with you both.”
Percy chucks him on the shoulder, wearing a small smile. “Both of us do.”
“Yeah.” Jason buries his fists in his pockets and bounces on the balls of his feet, looking back at the bar. “Wish me luck?”
“You don’t need it.” Annabeth calls as Percy helps her into a car. When she’s safely inside, he turns around with a grin and shoots Jason a thumbs up.
“You never have.”
Jason watches their car merge into the Manhattan traffic, the cool October air carrying a nostalgic longing as distance grows between them. Percy and Annabeth are returning now to their own life; one a hundred miles from him, from anyone else. Everybody was drifting away; forging their own way forward. When they’re out of sight, Jason turns back around, the dingy doors to the bar beckoning him in with the promise of a brand new life.
On the other side of these worn doors is a girl with stars in her eyes and moonlight in her step, and maybe– just maybe– she’s waiting for him.
With a deep breath, he steps in.

< previous: chapter three
Tumblr media
The next morning there was a lot of excitement at breakfast.
Well, around three in the morning, an Aethiopian drakon had been spotted at the borders of the camp. The magical boundaries had kept the monster out, but it prowled the hills, looking for weak spots in the defenses, and it didn't seem anxious to go away until Lee Fletcher from Apollo's cabin led a couple of his siblings in pursuit. After a few dozen arrows lodged in the chinks of the drakon's armor, it got the message and withdrew.
"It's still out there," Lee warned during announcements. "Twenty arrows in its hide, and we just made it mad. The thing was thirty feet long and bright green. It's eyes—" he shuddered.
"You did well, Lee," Chiron patted him on the shoulder. "Everyone stay alert, but stay calm. This has happened before."
"Aye," Quintus said from the head table. "And it will happen again. More and more frequently."
The campers murmured among themselves. Y/N turned to look at Harris, mouthing the words, "Did you know?" He nodded his head to accept. It seemed like she wasn't the only one who kept dreaming about the camp under attack all the time.
Everyone knew the rumors: Luke and his army of monsters were planning an invasion of the camp. Most of them expected it to happen this summer, but no one knew how or when. It didn't help that their attendance was down. They only had about eighty campers. Three years ago, Y/N started, there had been more than a hundred. Some had died. Some had joined Luke. Some had just disappeared.
"This is a good reason for new war games, "Quintus continued, a glint in his eyes. "We'll see how you all do with that tonight."
"Yes..." Chiron said. "Well, enough announcements. Let us bless this meal and eat." He raised his goblet, "To the gods."
All of them raised their glasses and repeated the blessing.
Y/N took her plate to the bronze brazier and scraped a portion of her food into the flames. "Apollo," she whispered, "Give me a sign of what I should do...."
There was so much to worry about, and she could've stood there all morning, but she headed back to the table. She couldn't just stand there ranting about her pathetic feelings and friends when there was no guarantee they would survive the prophecy. She wanted to be the bigger person and just forget any of those things ever happened. But easier said than done. One look at their faces and it felt like the day they confessed to her. Even with Grover in her mind, all she could feel after looking at their faces was irritation.
Still...even after all this, her eyes still seemed to search for the seaweed brain. It was getting annoying at this point.
Once everyone was eating, Chiron and Grover came over to visit Percy. Grover was bleary-eyed. His shirt was inside out. He slid his plate onto the table and slumped next to him.
Tyson shifted uncomfortably. "I will go...um...polish my fish ponies." He lumbered off, leaving his breakfast half-eaten.
Chiron tried for a smile. He probably wanted to look reassuring, but in centaur form he towered over him, casting a shadow across the table. "Well, Percy, how did you sleep?"
"Uh, fine." Percy wondered why he asked that. Was it possible he knew something about the weird Iris-message he'd gotten?
He saw Nico in it, and he was talking to a ghost. Nico was looking for a way to bring back his sister, which was almost impossible. Almost. The ghost seemed to know a way to bring her back, but just as they were about to discuss the plan, the message requested for another drachma. Unfortunately, he didn't have that and the message disappeared. The ghost also said something about how it helped Nico by saving him several times, leading him through a maze, and teaching him to use his powers. Well, he wasn't so focused on that.
"I brought Grover over," Chiron said, "because I thought you two might want to, ah, discuss matters. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some Iris-messages to send. I'll see you later in the day." He gave Grover a meaningful look, then trotted out of the pavilion."
"What's he talking about?" Percy asked Grover.
Grover chewed his eggs. He could tell he was distracted, because he bit the tines of his fork and chewed those down, too. "He wants you to convince me," he mumbled. Somebody else slid next to him on the bench: Annabeth.
And almost instinctively his head shot towards the direction of the Apollo cabin's members. Oh...she wasn't looking. He didn't know whether to feel good or bad about the situation. It would make matters worse. Y/N would probably absolutely ignore their existence after this.
"I'll tell you what it's about," Annabeth said. "The Labyrinth."
It was hard to concentrate on what she was saying because everybody in the dining pavilion was stealing glances at them and whispering. And Annabeth was right next to him. With the amount of whispers, he was sure it would reach Y/N's ears. He didn't want her to hate him.
But wait...shouldn't she be understanding about the situation too? Grover was here too, so maybe Y/N wouldn't mind all that much. And besides, after the commotion with Grover, she would absolutely understand if they held a discussion.
Percy sighed. He knew how much of an insensitive jerk he sounded like, but...still, it's not like he said something illogical either. For now, he needed to shoo away the main culprit of the situation.
"You're not supposed to be here," Percy said.
"We need to talk," she insisted.
"But the rules..."
She knew as well as everyone else, that campers weren't allowed to switch tables. Satyrs were different. They weren't really demigods. But the half-bloods had to sit with their cabins. I wasn't even sure what the punishment was for switching tables. He'd never seen it happen. If Mr. D had been here, he probably would've strangled Annabeth with magical grapevines or something, but Mr. D wasn't here. Chiron had already left the pavilion. Quintus looked over and raised an eyebrow, but he didn't say anything.
"Maybe Annabeth deserves a punishment," Percy thought.
"Look," Annabeth said, "Grover is in trouble. There's only one way we can figure out how to help him. It's the Labyrinth. That's what Clarisse and I have been investigating."
He shifted his weight, trying to think clearly. "You mean the maze where they kept the Minotaur, back in the old days?"
"Exactly," Annabeth said.
"So...it's not under the king's palace in Crete anymore," he guessed. "The Labyrinth is under some building in America."
Annabeth rolled her eyes. "Under a building? Please, Percy. The Labyrinth is huge. It wouldn't fit under a single city, much less a single building."
He thought about my dream of Nico at the River Styx. "So...is the Labyrinth part of the Underworld?"
"No." Annabeth frowned. "Well, there may be passages from the Labyrinth down into the Underworld. I'm not sure. But the Underworld is way, way down. The Labyrinth is right under the surface of the mortal world, kind of like a second skin. It's been growing for thousands of years, lacing its way under Western cities, connecting everything together underground. You can get anywhere through the Labyrinth."
"If you don't get lost," Grover muttered. "And die a horrible death."
"Grover, there has to be a way," Annabeth said. He got the feeling they'd had this conversation before.
"Clarisse lived."
"Barely!"Grover said. "And the other guy—"
"He was driven insane. He didn't die."
"Oh, joy." Grover's lower lip quivered. "That makes me feel much better."
"Whoa," Percy said. "Back up. What's this about Clarisse and a crazy guy?"
Annabeth glanced over toward the Ares table. Clarisse was watching them like she knew what they were talking about, but then she fixed her eyes on her breakfast plate.
"Last year," Annabeth said, lowering her voice, "Clarisse went on a mission for Chiron."
"I remember," Percy said. "It was secret."
Annabeth nodded.
"It was secret," Annabeth agreed, "because she found Chris Rodriguez."
"The guy from the Hermes cabin?" he remembered him from two years ago. They'd eavesdropped on Chris Rodriguez aboard Luke's ship, the Princess Andromeda. Chris was one of the half-bloods who'd abandoned camp and joined the Titan Army.
"Yeah," Annabeth said. "Last summer he just appeared in Phoenix, Arizona, near Clarisse's mom's house."
"What do you mean he just appeared?"
"He was wandering around the desert, in a hundred and twenty degrees, in full Greek armor, babbling about string."
"String," he said.
"He'd been driven completely insane. Clarisse brought him back to her mom's house so the mortals wouldn't institutionalize him. She tried to nurse him back to health. Chiron came out and interviewed him, but it wasn't much good. The only thing they got out of him: Luke's men have been exploring the Labyrinth."
Percy shivered, though he wasn't exactly sure why. Poor Chris...he hadn't been a bad guy. What could've driven him mad? I looked at Grover, who was chewing up the rest of his fork.
"Okay," he asked. "Why were they exploring the Labyrinth?"
"We weren't sure," Annabeth said. "That's why Clarisse went on a scouting expedition. Chiron kept things hushed up because he didn't want anyone panicking. He got me involved because...well, the Labyrinth has always been one of my favorite subjects. The architecture involved—" Her expression turned a little dreamy. "The builder, Daedalus, was a genius. But the point is, the Labyrinth has entrances everywhere. If Luke could figure out how to navigate it, he could move his army around with incredible speed."
"Except it's a maze, right?"
"Full of horrible traps," Grover agreed."Dead ends. Illusions. Psychotic goat-killing monsters."
"But not if you had Ariadne's string," Annabeth said. "In the old days, Ariadne's string guided Theseus out of the maze. It was a navigation instrument of some kind, invented by Daedalus. And Chris Rodriguez was mumbling about string."
"So Luke is trying to find Ariadne's string," Percy said. "Why? What's he planning?"
Annabeth shook her head. "I don't know. I thought maybe he wanted to invade camp through the maze, but that doesn't make any sense. The closest entrances Clarisse found were in Manhattan, which wouldn't help Luke get past our borders. Clarisse explored a little way into the tunnels, but...it was very dangerous. She had some close calls. I researched everything I could find about Daedalus. I'm afraid it didn't help much. I don't understand exactly what Luke's planning, but I do know this: the Labyrinth might be the key to Grover's problem."
Percy blinked. "You think Pan is underground?"
"It would explain why he's been impossible to find."
Grover shuddered. "Satyrs hate going underground. No searcher would ever try going in that place. No flowers. No sunshine. No coffee shops!"
"But," Annabeth said, "the Labyrinth can lead you almost anywhere. It reads your thoughts. It was designed to fool you, trick you, and kill you; but if you can make the Labyrinth work for you—"
"It could lead you to the wild god," Percy said.
"I can't do it." Grover hugged his stomach. "Just thinking about it makes me want to throw up my silverware."
"Grover, it may be your last chance," Annabeth said. "The council is serious. One week or you learn to tap dance!"
Over at the head table, Quintus cleared his throat. Percy got the feeling he didn't want to make a scene, but Annabeth was really pushing it, sitting at his table for so long.
"And did you talk to Y/N?" she asked, eyes looking for some hope.
"I tried..but," he looked in her direction, "she won't listen and doesn't want to be involved."
"Clearly you don't know how to convince her," Annabeth said, eyes furrowed in irritation.
"Well, why don't you give it a try then?" Percy said, a little too loud.
"Alright, we'll talk later," Annabeth squeezed his arm a little too hard. "Convince Grover and I'll convince her."
She returned to the Athena table, ignoring all the people who were staring at her. He didn't know what kind of confidence suddenly took over Annabeth, but he just hoped for it to work. She was good with words when it came to certain situations. He wished he had even a little bit of that talent, then maybe Y/N would've already been convinced. It felt like somehow it was becoming a competition between him and Annabeth of who is closer to her.
And he didn't like the way all his paths were coming to a dead end.
Grover buried his head in his hands. "I can't do it, Percy. My searcher's license. Pan. I'm going to lose it all. I'll have to start a puppet theater."
"Don't say that! We'll figure something out."
"I have to leave," Grover said miserably. "Juniper's waiting for me. It's a good thing she finds cowards attractive."
After he was gone, Percy looked over at Quintus. He nodded gravely, like they were sharing some dark secret. Then he went back to cutting his sausage with a dagger.

Around the afternoon, when Y/N was busy reading a book near Canoe Lake, she felt a presence behind her. A well-known presence she wanted to ignore.
Annabeth sat beside her, which made her shift away a bit immediately. "We can't do this without you."
Sighing, Y/N closed her book and looked at her, "There are plenty of healers, you can just ask one of my siblings."
"You know it's not the same as going with you. We know how we work around each other in dangerous situations. Besides, it would...feel empty without you."
"Look, I don't want to be tossed around and used whenever you all feel like it. I don't trust you or him."
"I am sorry for what I did! I wasn't thinking straight. I...lost someone precious and I didn't know how to handle it!"
"Oh, and the only way you thought of handling it is by playing with his emotions and breaking my trust?"
"It wasn't intentional."
"It was though, Anne. You knew the way he looked at you and decided to take advantage of it. How would you feel if Luke asked me to join them, that he would date me if I wanted to get over both of you and I accepted it?"
"You wouldn't and I know it."
"See?" Y/N chuckled, "You don't even have to think twice about this. I didn't either. But after what you did, I don't think anything is impossible."
Annabeth stayed silent for a while and said, "You know, Percy is not at fault here. It was news to him too. So...maybe you should atleast-"
"You don't need to tell me that. I know. It's just...feels awful to know how he knew everything but continued to lead me on instead of turning me down."
"He was overwhelmed. It was a first-time situation and he didn't know what to do. You know that better than me," Annabeth sighed, "Please just talk to him."
"Fine, I will." Y/N said massaging her forehead,"....And what about Grover?"
"....So you're in, right?"
Tumblr media
Walking towards the Pegasus stables, she found Percy just as Annabeth said. Percy seemed to be talking to his friend Blackjack. She waited for him to finish. It didn't take much time as he shot his head to look in her direction after a while.
A group of younger campers came into the stables to start their riding lessons and started whispering amongst themselves. Clearly, the news of their fight was all over the camp. As Percy started walking towards her, she heard one of the campers say something along the lines of "he isn't even that good-looking."
"Mind your own business," she spoke, looking over at them. Sure, she might be having a fight with him, doesn't mean they get to insult him in front of her.
An action that made Percy smile a bit. He didn't know why but it made him feel giddy how Y/N was defending him. He observed her expression - how her ears were turning red in anger, and she scrunched her nose while furrowing her brows.
How cute.
"Come on," she muttered, walking away from the stables.
As Percy started following her, he said, "I'm guessing you talked with Annabeth?"
"Yes, she filled me in about whatever happened," Y/N said and licked her lips. This is awkward. Knowing he knew about her feelings, it was getting difficult to talk to him about how she wanted to forget everything and start over the friendship.
Sighing, she mustered up the courage and said, "Look, I'm here because I feel like I'm not being fair to you. I know, you were hurt by Annabeth's action as much as I did. But I was too busy feeling betrayed to even hear you out. So...let's just forget everything and start over like nothing happened."
"Sure," he said, "And during breakfast Annabeth just came to my table to talk about the events and also, you. Nothing else...in case you are wondering." With the way the campers were talking, he didn't want her to misunderstand. He didn't know why but he wanted to make it clear as soon as possible. Annabeth was nothing more than just an awful friend.
"Didn't ask, don't care," Y/N said.
Percy looked at her demeanor. She looked...nervous. And she still wasn't looking at him. It still felt...awful. He wanted the old Y/N back. But, it did feel nice how she reached out first. Probably because of Grover's situation. He didn't exactly have the place to complain about it.  A small smirk took over his lips, as he put his arm around her shoulders and started walking towards the Canoe Lake. She looked like a deer in headlights. Maybe he did get some of the confidence Annabeth had.
Thinking back on his conversation with Y/N, he was a bit disturbed by the last line. Act like nothing happened? It might be a bit selfish of him but...he didn't want her to forget.
The feeling of getting her attention was starting to get addicting.

Nico who doesn't let Percy leave without him. Nico who makes Percy bring him along. Nico who misses his sister so fiercely he walks into a shadow and appears right at her side. Nico who follows them and refuses to go back without her.
And he's so insistent. And she's so angry that he followed them. Percy, who refuses to take Nico back, so focused on wanting to save Annabeth, rushes in between them because Nico is about to start crying and Bianca looks so devastated and frustrated and Grover pulls Nico away to calm down and Percy asks her why she's so reluctant to be around him, he's her brother, yeah he's a little annoying, but he's just a kid and she stares at him.
"My grandfather said so," she says. She peeks at Nico, pulled into himself and sorting through acorns with Grover. Thalia and Zoe look bewildered behind them. "He said if I stayed with him, he would die."
Percy pauses. This grandfather sounds insane. "I thought you said you didn't know your family."
She scratches the back of her neck. She won't stop watching Nico. "He comes to me in my dreams." She shakes her head. "I know it's crazy, but you have to believe me. I know he's telling the truth."
Percy is baffled. He wants to argue. Wants to question. It doesn't make sense. He whispers about it to the others. They don't know what to make of it either. But Nico refuses to leave. Every time they try to ditch him, he shows up, tired but untouched. No one knows how he's doing it. He just says he's walking. But there's no way that's true. It's too late.
Then the junkyard. Nico exclaims when he finds the Hades figurine. He wants to take it. Everyone says no. He picks it up anyway, just to get a closer look. He's never seen the Hades one before. The robot awakens. It bats Nico away like a bug on the ground.
He dies.
Bianca screams. Darkness explodes out of her like a bomb. The night sky seems to swell and move with her anger. The stars disappear. The robot is torn apart by ghosts, skeletons, shadow-like hands.
"I TOLD YOU," she screeches. "I TOLD YOU HE WASN'T LYING."
Oh, Percy thinks. That grandfather.
Bianca is clutching Nico close. Darkness pools around her and dissipates slowly across the edges. She's sobbing. No one moves.
And then her sobs soften. They quiet. The silence of the night is damning.
Then, "You promise?"
Her voice is small. Nearly hidden. Shadows crawl up her legs, across Nico's frame. There's no response, but she's hearing someone they cannot, being spoken to by a figure long dead, so far beneath the earth only a child of the Underworld can make out the words.
"Okay," she whispers as darkness pulls across her face. Her angry raging eyes are the last thing Percy sees before she disappears. "I'll do it."

Percy Jackson x Child Of Apollo!GN!Reader- Clueless- Part 1
Not requested, it just poped up in my mind, hope you enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
this imagines is happening between The Last Olympian and The Lost Hero, but Percy and Annabeth aren’t dating. | written & posted: June 27th, 2022 | word count: 1386
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Annabeth and Grover ran into the infirmary, half-carrying half-dragging Percy between them.
Y\N, who just finished sewing Aphrodite’s son’s arm, turned to see what happened. They needed to hold back thier surprise; Percy was pale, his lips were blue, and his whole body was wet and shaking.
“What happened?” they asked as they checked Percy’s body heat, pulse and blood pressure, avoiding the hard pounding of their heart. Focus, they thought. You need to help Percy.
“We sailed in a canoe across the lake, and Percy jumped in the water to swim and check on the creaturs there, as always.” Annabeth said, breathing heavily. “After a while Grover-”
“-I felt Percy wasn’t okay,” Grover interrupted Annabeth. “He told me in his mind to help him because he’s in danger! So I told it to Annabeth and-”
“I took the canoe all over the lake but I didn’t find anything,” Annabeth interrupted Grover. Gods, I wish they stop doing that, Y\N thought. “So we asked the Nayads to help, and eventually they found Percy and brought him to our canoe. He looked like he looks now, as if he-”
“Drowned” Y\N finished her sentence. It was impossible, Percy was Poseidon’s son, he wasn’t supposed to drown or get wet- but here he was, looking just like someone who just drowned.
They knew it could be a prank; but Percy wasn’t the guy who pretends he drowned and make all of his friends worry. Y\N knew Percy since they both came to camp, when they were 12, and they remember how guilty Percy seemed at his funeral when he saw everyone mourn over him; he would never make his friends sorrow on purpose, which means he really drowned.
“Will?” Y\N called. Will was there in a minuete. “What you need, Y\N?”
“Put Percy on this cot and go get some towels and blankets, please” Y\N told their brother, thinking what to do.
Will nodded. He took Percy from his friends and layed him on the cot, then he whispered “he’ll be fine” in Y\N’s ear and went away. He was the only one who knew Y\N has a crush on Percy, although they thought it was pretty clear.
Y\N had another secret- Apollo, their father, blessed them with a voice that can be used almost like charmspeaking, but for other purposes; their voice could be used to effect people but not the same way charmspeaking does- Y\N’s voice was a tool, they could use it to calm people or boost their energy, it could make people see things the way Y\N does, and if they were singing to a sick\injured people it made their natural healing process faster.
Now they used it to make people listen to them and do as they say- Annabeth and Grover wanted to help Percy, but Y\N wasn’t sure if they’ll listen to them. “Grover, go get some herbs from the Demeter cabin, explain the situation and they’ll know what to do”
Grover nodded and went out, absolutely convinced Y\N know what they say.
“Annabeth-” Athena’s daughter recoiled when she heard how convincing Y\N’s voice is; she almost never followed orders, only when someone used charmspeaking. “Go to Apollo’s cabin, there’s a bottle full of golden liquid on my night stand, please bring it here; there are poems on the wall next to it”
Annabeth nodded, surprised by how powerful Y\N’s voice was, and did as they said.
Y\N turned around and looked at Percy. They brushed his hair away from his forehead with their fingers, sigh at how soft his hair was. “I wish you felt for me what I feel for you” they said. “I wish you would see how I feel about you. I wish you could be mine and I could be yours.” They sighed again, a single tear rolling on their cheek. “I love you” they whispered and took Percy’s cold hand in thiers, sobbing from sorrow.
Percy didn’t hear those words, but they were the words he wanted to hear most- even if he didn’t know it.

I’ll post part 2 very soon, it just started feeling a little long to me.

Godly Parent Swap AU: The Di Angelos
Plot bunnies are fun, lack of motivation is not. Also this wasn't beta read so proceed with caution.
(also heads up I low-key don't remember much about HoO and TBOTL. The HoO is literally so bad I remember nada from that)
Maria Di Angelo had two lovers in her short but impactful life, Hypnos and Hecate. Hypnos took the form of a rich business man from northern Italy. They had a brief fling when Maria was rebelling from her parents resulting in Bianca. Later on Hecate became a much more long standing lover. She was incredibly intrigued by Maria as she was clear sighted. Nico was created sorta like how Athena's kids are created but out of magic. Nico isn't old enough to remember his moms' relationship. Bianca is, Hecate treated Bianca like her own daughter. Hypnos gave Hecate a ring with poppy petals in it to give to Bianca. Hecate was on thin ice with Zeus. She had sided with Hades, twice now she had joined Zeus' opposing side. The oracle at the time visited Hecate at Maria's place. Zeus didn't like that for a couple reasons.
1.) Jealousy, Zeus had many lovers at that point but he couldn't be happily in love (lets be quite frank he wasn't possibly capable of that either way)
2.) Hecate had been neglecting her duties as the goddess/titaness of the mist to be with Maria, Bianca, and Nico.
3.) She's a loose cannon in Zeus mind. He needs to show her where she belongs.
Hecate was going to allow Maria and her children to live at Hecate's palace in the underworld. She said that there maybe she could protect her(Maria's but they were practically Hecate's as well) family. Maria denied. Zeus attempted to strike the Di Angelo's with lighting. Hecate was quick and put a barrier around Nico and Bianca but Maria was killed. Hecate was distraught and went to Hypnos and they both quickly discussed a plan. As they were both chthonic deities they devised a plan to bring them to the underworld.
The oracle at the time visited Hecate. She explained that the Di Angelo siblings, especially Nico, were going to be crucial in future events. She advised against it saying that fate was powerful and not to be tempted. Hecate, in an act of pure rage, desperation, and heartbreak, cursed the oracle. This curse is slightly different than the original one in cannon. Hecate has always been one of the scapegoats of the gods. As long as the chthonic gods were treated like, for the lack of a better term, shit the oracle would never move on.
So like in cannon Bianca and Nico are dropped off in the Lotus Casino for the next 80 years. In this time Bianca is practically raising the hyper Nico. Bianca would sing him to sleep every night and always managed to calm him down when he had nightmares.Hecate would often use her magic to watch after Nico and Bianca. Nico had a brief obsession with magicians, he could have sworn he made the mythomagic card on his nightstand move. Bianca and Nico get pulled out of the Lotus Casino and go to their cannon military school. They meet Grover who becomes friends with them.
They meet Annabeth, Silena, Beckendorf, Percy, and the huntresses the same day they get attacked by the manticore. Nico is treating this like the best thing to ever happen to him and Bianca is constantly pulling Nico back so he doesn't get injured. Percy shields them from the manticore and Nico looks star struck. Bianca can't lie and say she's not impressed. Annabeth gets tackled off the cliff and Zoe insinuates that it's because she's a daughter of Aphrodite. Percy get's pissed and almost throws one of his knives at her. Beckendorf explains to the two what is going on. After being offered, Bianca becomes a huntress of Artemis so she can experience freedom in her life. Apollo takes them to camp.
During the capture the flag game Bianca gets reprimanded from Zoe for checking on Nico to make sure his helmet is on right and runs off to join the huntresses. Percy and Thalia roll their eyes at Zoe. Nico sticks with Percy until he tells Nico to go with Austin, son of Demeter, and Jake, son of Aphrodite and stay at the far border. Nico witnesses Silena and Chris get into an ugly fight. It starts with Chris accidentally zapping Silena with a good chunk of lighting. Then Silena douses him with water. Chris shouts at her saying if she was as good as she thinks she is Annabeth would till be here. Percy looks down and fiddles with his knife before looking at the three boys. Percy pats Jake on the back and ruffles his hair. Nico doesn't know why but he felt a feeling of almost jealousy.
Bianca watches as the oracle and Zoe walk towards each other. Bianca makes eye contact with the corpse and sees a flash of white and hears a scream for a brief second. She's brought out of that by the prophecy that the oracle gives out. She leaves with Thalia and Zoe as the other two huntresses that were supposed to go with them were pranks by the Stolls with a poison ivy shirt. Zoe reasoned that two of the lines of the prophecy were already completed. Phone was lost in a land without rain and Dahlia perished at a parent's hand. She argued with Thalia that perish didn't mean die in the prophecy, it meant ruin. Dahlia was a daughter of Demeter and she couldn't continue the quest due to poison ivy, a plant. The two other girls didn't really believe but they continued anyway.
Nico was there with Beckendorf while Percy and Silena went to sneak out. He had them promise they would bring Bianca back safety. The three older campers all had a silent conversation with their eyes. Silena crouched down to Nico's level and put her hand on Nico's shoulder, she promised that they would try. They said goodbye to Silena and Percy before Beckendorf picks Nico up and takes him back to the Hermes cabin.
During their quest Percy gets a dream from Nemesis, his mother. She is trying to convince him to join her and Kronos. The entire time she prevents Percy from waking up. Then Percy hears a sweet voice almost singing to him. He starts envisioning the people he loves the most, Sally, Grover, Silena, Beckendorf, Annabeth. He's able to stand up to his mom and wake up to Bianca singing to him with her hand on his head glowing. Bianca's eyes were closed but they shot open as Percy woke up and she gasped. Bianca and Percy were the only ones up besides Zoe who was on guard duty but wasn't next to them. Bianca and Percy have time to talk with each other. Bianca admits to having insomnia ,which was why she saw Percy having his dream, and never really being able to sleep since she entered the Lotus Casino. Most of the time when she did fall asleep she'd get these dreams of her mother screaming as she saw a bright white light and heard a loud boom. Percy snorts and says that those sound more like nightmares. Bianca shrugs and explains that nightmares are still dreams so she tries not to let them control her. Percy admits that he often gets nightmares that he will join Kronos and have to fight against his friends. He says that if everyone else thinks he's evil they won't care to listen that he's not. Bianca shrugs and says she doesn't know how anyone can see him as evil if he's willing to die for Annabeth. It's a sweet moment, and one of Bianca's lasts.
Meanwhile, at camp, Nico was getting along great with the Hermes kids. He mostly stayed with Grover but when he wasn't with him he was with his cabin mates. His cabin counselor, Micheal, was an amazing prankster. Micheal quickly explained that the only cabin off limits was the Dionysus cabin. When Nico asked why Micheal simply responded with "it's basically kinda like nepotism." Nico's first encounter with the Dionysus kids was withl Will Solace. He was climbing the rock wall with Nico and was partnered with Cecil. Will was sipping on a Diet Coke while holding onto Cecil's rope and Cecil climbed. Kayla, daughter of Hermes, gave Nico the thumbs up and he began to climb. Nico's hand got burned and he fell down the wall. Before hitting the ground he landed on a vine. Will had created many vines that swirled up-wards to catch Nico before he hit the floor. Nico was able to thank him, barely.
Just like in cannon, Bianca dies to get Nico his mythomagic statue. It was the only one he didn't have. Percy begged her not to go and Silena even tried using her water in her water bottle to grab her but it didn't work. Bianca Di Angelo was dead. For the first time in what felt like ever, Nico couldn't sleep that night.
When Percy, Thalia Annabeth, and Silena get back to camp they tell the cabin counselors what happened. Nico asks where his sister is and Silena takes him outside. Grover, Annabeth, Percy, and Beckendorf spied on their conversation. Nico cries and does the usual cannon stuff. However instead of disappearing with a crack something somehow more dramatic happens. His eyes start slowly glowing green and his hands had purple swirls around them. As he cries the glowing gets brighter and brighter until Silena has to turn away. When the glowing stops she turns back and Nico is gone. The patch of grass he was on was now dead. Beckendorf reasons that he is a son of Hecate since her kids tend to be the only ones who glow colors other than yellow. Percy crosses his arms, Bianca was a daughter of Hypnos though, he was sure of it. Silena asks if they should tell Chiron. Percy shakes his head, if he's missing and a child of a chthonic goddess everyone will think he joined Kronos. He doesn't want to put Nico through that.
The next time we see Nico is in the labyrinth. Silena, Beckendorf, Chris, and Clarisse are on the quest. Rachel also tags along. Nico has his Stygian iron sword since he's still the son of the chthonic deity. Silena was the one who promised to keep Bianca safe in his mind. The Minos stuff happens and Nico has gotten a few dreams from Hecate. She was mostly apologetic for everything that happened in Nico's life. Hecate wants Nico to join Kronos like she did but she understands that he might not want to. She stares stories of when Bianca and Nico were younger in Italy. Nico didn't know how to react after finding his godly parent was Hecate. She was goddess and Maria was a mortal woman. His internalized homophobia was one big jumble of confusion. When Nico brings Bianca back she admits she's going to get reincarnated and to not blame Silena or Percy for her death as she chose to make that decision.
Nico teleports to Silena's house for her birthday. Her dad asks who Nico is and Silena explains he's a friend from camp, he doesn't ask anymore questions. Nico tells Silena of a way that she could even the playing field against Luke/Kronos. She could bathe in the River Styx and become mostly invulnerable. He explains that this is what Luke did and that Hecate mentioned it in one of her dream hijackings. Silena asks what would the steps be in doing this and Nico explains she needs her mother's blessing. Silena looks at him before asking if he saw who her parents were. Poseidon and a mortal man. Nico tenses up before blushing and apologizing. She shakes this off and asks if Chris and Percy should do it. Chris because he's a son of Zeus and Percy because he's by far the best fighter at camp. Nico accepts this.
Battle time! Nico shows up with eyes glowing and magic chanting. He turns hellhounds into ants in not time flat. He puts a magical shield over the Apollo kids' healing area so they can heal without being attacked. Their arrows still go threw these shields so Clarisse instructs them her siblings to heal and shoot. Nico also raises the dead as Hecate is the goddess of necromancy. He disappears and reappears in the middle of battle thanks to the mist.
After getting their mother's blessing Chris and Percy both try to bathe in the River Styx. Percy goes first and they(being Percy and Chris) quickly think that Nico betrayed them and was going to hand them over to Hades. Percy get's a little carried away and Chris has to physically stop him from hurting Nico. Nico explains that he didn't know and that it must've been a trick from Hecate or something.
Nico is still the tide turner in the Battle of Manhattan again. He manages to convince Hecate to switch sides and bring Hades to the main battle. Nico keeps fighting and saves so many people no one can doubt his allegiance to the camp. They win and as Silena makes the gods respect ALL the minors gods and their children the curse is broken. Silena thanks Nico for all his help and gives him a hug. Nico helps design the Hecate cabin.
Nico gets kidnapped by Hera and plopped into Camp Jupiter. There he sees Percy who he doesn't recognize. Percy drops his smirk for a millisecond but Nico catches it. Nico thinks he recognizes Percy but can't quite place it. He also notices that Percy now had a prosthetic arm and leg. He finds out that Piper, daughter of Hades, disappeared. He joins the fifth cohort with Gwen, Dakota, Hazel(unclaimed), Percy, and Leo(Bellona). Jason, the praetor, is impressed with Nico's sword fighting skills but says they're too barbaric for his liking. Nico gets claimed by Trivia and all the romans are shocked as Trivia is a virgin goddess. Percy nearly threatens to kill Octavian after he said that Nico must be a monster. After their war games Vulcan shows up. Nico doesn't know why but he gets a sense of dread seeing him. He claims Hazel and sends Nico, Leo and Hazel on their quest to Alaska.
Aaaaand that's all the I got for this little plot bunny. Partly because as I said before I don't remember much of the HoO and partly because of lack of motivation. Ima quickly sum everything up in a neat little paragraph.
After the Argo 2 arrives with Piper, Reyna, Frank, and Thalia Nico gets mad at Frank for bombing New Rome. Nico is the most vocal next to Thalia to save Percy from the jar. Nico watches as Leo and Piper fall into Tartarus. When he gets back to camp he goes to the infirmary to check on Silena and Beckendorf who were injured. He runs into Will who asks Nico to sign his cast. They haven't spoken since they were like ten.
That's the stuff I have down on the Di Angelo family. I'm going to make more mood boards of them. (The Bianca one I made is probably up there as one of my favs.) Pls if you wanna learn more about any other character pls, pls, pls don't be afraid to ask! My asks are always open.

The Temptation of the Immortals (6)
Tumblr media
Warnings: cursing, canon typical violence for the Percy Jackson series, spoilers for the Percy Jackson series, nightmares, the gods being absent parents, references to Greek Mythology, mentions of starvation and trauma.
“Alexander, this way!” Grover ordered as the boar charged after them on the sidewalk.  When Dionysus had contacted him to inform him that a potential demigod had been located in Chicago, Grover thought the God of Wine had lost whatever sanity he had left.  The god wouldn’t reveal how he found out about the supposed demigod’s existence, just that he didn’t want the demigod to draw any more attention than he already had.
Grover had no idea what the god meant by that and regretted that he hadn’t pushed the god to explain what he meant by that sentence when Grover had contacted him this morning to request an extraction because he was certain that Alexander was a demigod and he could smell a monster tailing them.
“REET!”  The boar squealed and Grover’s lungs began to burn.  “This boar must have been taking cardio lessons in Tartarus.” The satyr thought dryly as he finally spotted the building that he was looking for.
“Over here!”  He yelled, waving his hand in the direction that he wanted the boy to run in.  Mercifully, Alexander heard him and seconds after Grover had run into the building, Alexander followed hot on his tail.  Now that he was in a familiar area, Grover calmed down slightly.  All he needed to do was find your office and….
“REEEEEEETTTTT!”
Or not.
The boar crashed through the entrance.  It landed in a heap and Grover took advantage of the boar’s disorientation by wrapping his hand around Alexander’s upper arm and pulling him down the hallway at a speed that Grover didn’t think he was capable of.  The satyr was concentrating so much on moving Alexander to your office where he would be safe that he nearly collided with you.
“Grover?”
“Thank the gods!”  The satyr puffed, “Boar.  In entrance.  Chasing us.”
“Take him to Piper’s office and lock yourselves in.”
“NO!  I WANT TO STAY WITH YOU NOT MR. UNDERWOOD!”
You knelt down and placed your hands on Alexander’s shoulders, “It’ll be okay.  I need you to call your dad from Piper’s office and stay there until I tell you that it’s safe to come out.  This is important.  Do you understand?”
Alexander crossed his arms over his chest, “Don’t wanna.”
“REEEEETTTT!”
“Please Alexander.  Tell me that you understand.”
Alexander turned away and refused to look at either of you.  You sighed and shook your head but did not move.
“I understand,” Alexander muttered sullenly.
“Grover?”
“On it.”
The satyr and the demigod sprinted to Piper’s office and Grover wrenched open the door.  He didn’t have time to dwell on the alarmed expression on the other demigod’s face before he launched into an explanation of how the boar had escaped from the zoo that they were visiting and pursued them down the streets of Chicago.  All throughout Grover’s explanation, the squeals of the boar rattled the windows until it let out an ear splitting, final squeal that had Grover wondering whether the windows would hold.
“Is it over?” Piper asked.
Grover listened for any sound that would indicate the boar was still alive and just biding its time.  When he didn’t hear any sound that hinted the boar was still alive, he let out a sigh of relief, “I think it’s over.  The boar is dead.”
Piper closed her eyes and Grover remembered too late that she was vegetarian, “It didn’t suffer and it was a monster boar so it could return,” he tried.
“Can I call my dad now?”  Alexander piped up.
Piper had barely moved her chair a few inches to the right to give Alexander some space to use the phone when another roar sounded in the museum.  This roar sounded more like it came from a man.
“Or a god,” Piper disagreed and Grover realised he had voiced his thought by accident.
“(Name) needs help!” Alexander darted around Piper’s desk and towards the closed door.
“NO ALEXANDER!”  Grover yelled but it was too late.  The only thing he and Piper could do was go after the boy.  Piper sped through the corridors with Grover only half a step behind her.  Fortunately, they caught up to Alexander quickly.
Unfortunately, their footsteps had drawn the attention of the god who had let out the bellow and he used the distraction to smack you with the blade of his sword which sent you sprawling at the feet of the statue of Hades.
“So, this is Aphrodite’s latest special brat.”  Ares sneered walking towards the two demigods and the satyr with his sword drawn.
“Go away.  I don’t like you.”
Ares chuckled menacingly, “You got guts kid.  I’ll give you that.  Shame they’re not going to be of any use to you.  You could’ve been powerful with that charmspeak ability.”
“Please get up (Name).”  Alexander whimpered when he saw your prone form and Ares drew closer still, “I need help.”
Piper drew her dagger and pulled Alexander behind her.  She raised her blade into the air at the war god, “Get back.”  She ordered.
Ares guffawed, “What harm can that little twig do to me?”
“My dagger’s not going to do anything to you.”
“Exactly.”
“I just needed your attention on me to give (Name) time to stand up.”
Ares twisted around to see that Piper was right, “You never faced any consequences for keeping Hades’ helm away from him for as long as you did, did you?”
“It’s in the past.  Old corpse breath doesn’t care about that anymore.”
“I think you’re wrong.”
“It doesn't matter what you think.  I am a god and my word is law!”  Ares boomed.
“Once again, you’re wrong.  Did you forget that all gods and goddesses have a mental connection to their statues?  Hades may have shrugged off the feeling of me colliding with it but I doubt that he’s going to be so quick to dismiss the fact that you did not return his helm as quickly as you should’ve.”
Ares stepped forwards and the ground underneath him cracked.  The cracks grew rapidly until there was a big enough hole for a man to fall in but the god was standing on the edge.  He could just as easily step back and avoid the hole.  Grover’s hand fell to his pocket and he pulled out his pipes.  While the god of war was distracted by the hole that had appeared, Grover blew into the pipes and played a wind tune.  A gust of air propelled itself through the partially open window and slammed into the god, knocking him down into the hole.  As soon as the god had fallen far enough, the cracks closed and the hole disappeared.
Alexander sped over to you, wrapping his arms around your legs, “You’re okay.”
“I warned you to stay away from the Kneef family.”

[from biscord, probably will do the sin stuff l8r]
[Patch: 5 times about crow]
doing like 5 important things in my mind, this is for Crow
1. Eldritch being who can flip his shit on a dime, was created from a mad science experiment
2. He has a dead brother ghost (clark) who is practially older than him but often mistaken as his younger brother.
3. He is mainly MLM/Masc attracted, and often calls himself gay though he has had some feelings for those who weren't masc.
4. Can and will flip his switch at any time at the smallest thing, so he bfs usually hang with him to calm him down.
5. This man has like 15 boyfriends and his polycule just keeps growing.
6. Extra fact, he's one of the many ocs that have a bunch of spinoff ocs off of. and ngl I think he was originally inspired off Castiel.
[Justin: stuff about cell]
Cell was an experiment by godly beings to create the perfect ruler for his species, but was deemed faulty after various inhumane tests.
Luvin, X, Nyanxie and Gorgus were also apart of these tests though only Nyanxie and Gorgus really remember the times and also Cell.
He loves barbie movies and is shit at makeup, he taught himself. also painted his abuser's vechile BRIGHT SPARKLY barbie pink after stealing it.
if i were to give him 2 kins, Count Bleck from super paper mario and Megamind from megamind
[Justin: Limboheart info n grover insp]
FOR like absolutely no reason I got the grover inspiration, think I had recently heard more news about the new live action series based on percy jackson.
And I think it was also as a counter of his counterpart being a lion who was actually really tame/docile and limboheart was very aggressive and just violent.
but both are fucking insane ngl. Lionheart (counterpart) literally took a gunshot to the ankle and kept moving, and then basically seduced all the major crime bosses.
While limboheart is just a salty man because he hasn't confessed to his crushes.
[Patch 5 things baout clark]
1. Clark died from a deadly allergic reaction to cats, he still loves cats as a ghost and does not care
2. He looks like 10 usually, but he's actually an adult. It just feels weird to him generally to shapeshift into an adult, and when he does it's usually like his idol who has a ton of cats.
3. Clark will scare the living daylights out of anyone who hurts his family or those he considers family, but is also a prankster.
4. He loves being a trickster, and candy, even though he can't really eat he can and will steal candy.
5. He refuses to go into anyone's body, even if it's a robot or his own corpse. He doesn't like the feeling
6. If he didn't die, he would embarrass the hell out of his brother Crow around the other's crushes and probably would get oftenly in fights but in like a sibling way.
additions, Crow has a fondness for birds and is known for his pet Lucky the yellow and peach lovebird
And crow and clark 100% would adopt like any abandoned pet they find.
[Patch 5 for franmy]
1. He's gone through many changes, but he's half corruptin ; type of vaguely object species that can shapeshift into liquid and disappear in the shadows, and half ashen ; the object species of ashopia, in the original concept he was a petty man who didn't care about like anyone and was a spy, but now he blorbo
2. He has some ninetails/Kumiho inspiration, just like generally trickster fox spirit, also he has tattoos.
3. ITS not shown in the art with philip n pico but he actually has splatters/veritgo on his legs and arms plus body/face, two on his legs when looked straight on look like a heart together.
4. He has like 2 exes who are poptarts/strudels, which weren't the best. The one was with a woman who was honestly really toxic and borderline abusive to him, and the other was another poptart who had a chunk missing from her head. The two were engaged but things were broken up due to Razzy (poptart) originally using him for information on the corruptins, though they're slowly mending things.
5. He loves the shadows and collecting shells, and used to live in a cave though has upgraded to a house with the poly gang.
6. The ice powers were inspired by ninjago, and there's even an art piece inspired by the old ninjago intro, though there was no one inplace for Wu or Lloyd. But Franny was Zane which inspired his ice powers.
7. franny really hasn't had any major spinoff ocs, him and pico generally being tied in the main 5 poly gang members for having the least amount of characters that were spinoffs of these two. Also franny was the (unofficial) ashopia rep for poly gang, and Pico was the shape people rep, Retired was the l0s rep, Allie W was the Mlp ng rep (an old group).

Waiting for the part of the show when Annabeth and Grover say the most wild inside joke ever and Percy is left confused because I want more Annabeth and Grover acknowledging the bond they’d have from traveling all those years ago.
*Bonus; Annabeth calming down and slowly and somberly saying something about Thalia liking the joke because from my read on the show Annabeth is pushed in a more idolizing Thalia angle from what I’ve interpreted so far.
This post was hard to write because I have a cat named Granger and kept wanting to correct Grover to it. Sadly I don’t have any creative flows going on at the moment so no big posts that I can say will happen (though I am working on some art👀…)
Anyway might finally get around to reading the Aeneid because I’m getting to the final sprint for TSoA and my tolerance for it is slowly chipping off. I love it it’s great, but the me inside of me that likes the classical epic can’t help but sit there and go, “Why is Patroclus a tiny little babygirl? I thought that was ________’s job? Patroclus was not this afraid of battle why have we babygirled him in the bad way??” That is just my read on it but from what I remember generally Patroclus was a silly little guy that could most certainly hold his own and was effective in battle (I know it’s just for the story but I can’t do many mythological re-telling/ anything that moves in line with varying mythologies, PJO hit the sweet spot for me, while things like a thousand steps into the night I generally didn’t find too wild, though it’s mythos I’m not familiar with. But stuff like TsoA or the loose stuff marvel does completely turns me away *other than moon knight I love moon knight*) and blah, blah, blah something about boxing I might post a draft I made about Palamedes.
Also on the topic of TSoA it’s the only book that I accidentally read hoarse as horse.
