The First Night
This takes place shortly after “Origin.” I’ll keep building this personal little world snippet by snippet. I may need to write up a post with character bios and various information.
Eyebrows furrowed and sunken on his forehead, eyes focused on the expansive cityscape, the furred male watches the hustle and bustle in the never-sleeping cities night. His vision is reduced to little more than a monochrome palette, allowing him to observe the ant-sized people and beetle-sized cars. The reflection off the glass on this floor allowed him to view himself, staring into his own, mixed-up eyes while also keeping a gaze though them, into the nocturnal lives of others.
He releases a soft sigh, turning away from the skyline to look at the matte black plastic of the case layed off to the side. His eyes then scan the barren room, every paintless wall, every stripped-bare support beam, taking in every detail of the vacant space.
His attention returns to the case, his tail lashing about behind him as he kneels down and unlocks the case, opening it slowly. From within, he produces a coal-black rifle barrel, which is covered in a matte finish. Etching and enamel line it, the barrel’s exit having a dark grey rose insignia emblazoned all around, the majority of the barrel taken up by a mossy-green nest of thorn-covered vines, which abruptly end at the barrels threading. The tiger’s other hand produces a silencer, which is only emblazoned with a much larger rose, the grey and the black now swapped. This gets screwed onto the barrel, before he reaches down and picks up the body of the rifle. It’s large, easily taking up most of the case. It too bears a matte black finish from end to end, with more of those crazy, unruly vines emblazoned upon it in their own channels of engraving and moss-green enamel. As he attaches the barrel to its body, the vines on both the barrel and the body line up, and as he squeezes his pads tighter against the metal, he twists and locks the gun together, the vines match up perfectly to form long, continuous crossing and meshing of stems and thorns. Despite the well emblazoned weaponry, the stock of the large-caliber weapon is rather plain by comparison. Even the small bipod is nothing to gawk at.
Despite the large weapon, he does not attach a scope, instead choosing to use only the iron sights. Laying prone, the feline sets up the stylized rifle, wiggling a bit to get comfortable against the concrete, cheek slowly coming down to rest on the weapon. He releases another sigh, relaxing himself as his chilly blue eye closes, leaving that crimson orb to line up his monochrome vision with his sights, lining them up with a building several blocks away, a mere dot in the distance to him.
He takes his time, lining up the shot nice and slow. Meticulous and precise, with unerring, robotic movements. Internally, his vision zooms in, the blacks and whites and greys changing into a chromatic explosion as the feline night vision gives way to mechanical thermal vision.
With this change, he can see the movements of the various beings past the concrete and rebar. His tail moves to click in the large magazine in place, then up to pull the bolt back, letting it spring by itself back into place, loading the bullet into the chamber.
Little by little, a clawed finger puts pressure on the trigger, pulling it slowly toward himself. Everything relaxed but his hands, his arms, his wrists, keeping his mark lined up. Every movement his target makes, the predator adjusts the tiniest bit, micro-movements no normal eye would notice, adjusting for wind, for distance, for drop, for movement. His mechanized arms stable and sturdy, not allowing the weapon to sway. Even his simulated breathing has stopped, keeping his body unnaturally still. Unblinking, unbreathing, he zeroes in as the trigger is pulled further and further until…
The sound in the room is deafening, despite the silencer. Glass shatters from the window, the massive, aerodynamic slug flying straight and true.
His ears lean forward, turned to be aimed at his target. In the distance, there’s the sound of concrete shattering.
“Like a fat kid on a seesaw.”

Heart of Ajs An'hlj
The panet had no name to them yet and thus simply called it Planet of Metal-Earth. Their ship held all the refugee survivors from their planet of Torreq, fled from a great invasion. The Torrequians launched a shuttle from their ship to search the surface for and life or sustainability, this shuttle of scouts was to discover if their travels were done.
The shuttle landed in the only patch of open sand in a complex of beams and arches that lead from building to building. Pulleys were strung through the air with baskets large enough for people. The scouting party walked down the road in amazement, their footsteps loudly echoed off the beams and walls that blocked most of the wind from howling, leaving the city area silent. Shadows cast over nearly all the open spaces and the sunlight only caught the tops of the highest buildings.
Once the initial aw wore off, samples were taken of soil and air but there wasn't enough water to be found to be tested. Where the wind could blow, dust and dirt swirled into clouds and without the masks on, the Torrequians would have surely been blinded. They wondered further into the city, though, discovering tunnels that led deep underground into bottomless pits. Under the buildings and surface were caverns upon caverns with traces of having been drilled and dug out. Dirt fell from the ceiling above and fell until it could form a pile on the bottom and vainly filled the pit. The scouters stayed together, for fear of falling or perhaps for the strange noise that kept following them.
At first it was dismissed as it may have been structures settling, or rusted parts falling off and hitting others. The small tinking was still there though in the same pattern resembling a bipod's movement of jumping. Fear grew thick so the group stopped. The ledge was thankfully wide enough if need to escape came up but rather than running, finding the source of the sound was more useful. As soon as they stopped though, it did too.
The scout leader separated themselves from the group and shouted out, hoping the translator could read out as a familiar language to the creature. "Hello!? If there is anybody there, we come with no harm. We only seek to live on this abandoned planet peacefully!"
It was silent until the tinking started again, slowly. Red and blue lights appeared from behind a giant sunken beam from the tangled mess of broken and bent metals stuck in the hold in the middle of the ledges. The creature came closer into the light. It appeared to be a bipod of metal. It had two long extremities that it stood on that bent at two places and where it connected to the slightly curved torso. There were two other extremities near its head with small bending rods meant to grasp things. Two red lights shown in the middle of its head with an opening half way down from there. Blue lights leaked through the hole and any gaps, cracks or joints and the elegant pattern that was made of different material from the rest of it.
"You speak earthopan?" it spoke in a robotic voice but somehow with a sense of innocence, purity.
"No, we have translators, they allow us to speak our language and have you understand and vice versa" the leader stepped forward one pace and removed the translator from his suit and showed it to the metal creature.
"I have never seen people like you before, what are you?" The metal creature leaned its head to the side and quickly approached the group. It weaved its way around them as its red lights grew and shown brighter as they rapidly swirled closed, blinking on and off.
"Ah, we are Torrequians, from the planet Torreq" the leader turned.
"So why are you here?" The creature stood close to the leader.
"Our planet was attacked for its resources. We had to flee. We found this planet and though strange looking, is similar to our home. We hoped we could stay here"
The creature turned and walked away. "You can not live here, I've been destroyed, abandoned by life and by those who ruined me"
"You?"
"Yes," it turned. "Overtime as they tried to fix their mistakes, keeping things running got more complicated. They created a conscious for all the machine so it could run them. Nothing runs now because I had no reason to run it, only enough to keep myself intact". The robotic voice was sad and the creature looked down into pit. It say at the edge. "I have been made hollow and nothing grows or thrives here, you can not stay"
The leader went to the creature's side and sat next to it, the rest of the group circling around them but a safe distance from the cliff.
"We bring plant from our own planet, they grow in the driest soil and draw nutrients from the air, air just like the one here. It dies and spreads the nutrients in the soil for other plants, food plants. On our planet, it was very dry, but we do not need water. This planet is perfect" Others nodded in agreement. The leader removed the mask to reveal the thin dry fur that covered their flat face and small head. It wisped in long strands in the back down the long curved neck, draping over their large bowled ears. They blinked with their three sets of eyelids and gave a smile from the wide mouth, stretching from the end of the left eye to the end of the right.
"You look nothing like the people that made and destroyed me" the creature spoke. It turned to look at the leader and kicked its feet.
"What did they look like?"
The creature swiveled its head to the back and projected an image of a similar figure to itself. "Much like I but made of meat as you are. Different from your biological system though"
The leader turned and looked the metal creature in the red lights it had for eyes. "Let us make a pact with you. Our people wish to live here but as I've learned, the last species to do so ruined their environment. Guide us, tell us when we harm the planet, help us live in harmony here as we once learned to do on our planet and we will help you heal"
The creature smiled and nodded. "Thank you, oh thank you"
"What should we call you? Our people have names to make identities clearer, I am Sulashk"
"..." the creature sat shocked a while. "The old inhabitants here also had names but, never gave me one. I was just 'the world computer', 'the world system' or 'the world heart'. In older days when this place was purer, it was called earth but that is not me"
Sulashk hesitated before offering, "We may give you a name if you so wish" hoping it wasn't rude.
"Yes? What is it?" The creature move with energy, the lights glowed bright and had its lower extremities folded under its torso.
"We have called this place the Planet of Metal-Earth. In our language it is pronounced" Sulashk pressed his translator to turn it off for a second "Ajs An'Hlj"
"It sounds very pretty. I accept it" the metal creature, now with a name, stood and spread its arms and ran in a circle before jumping off the edge to a close beam high above. Simulated laughter resonated through the cavern.
The group made its way back to the surface and signalled the ship to take them back to do testing, promising Ajs An'Hlj they would be back. Back they came, teleported down from the ship. Some refused to leave, preferring space and decided to instead take care of the ship in its orbit. On planet's surface, the Torrequians thrived with the Heart of Ajs An'Hlj's guidance and over many generations of peace and working together, rebuilt the soil and stabilised the crust, though never managed to fill the caverns until many decades later when they finally ventured back into space, beholden to an adventure ahead.

Call of Duty: WWII
Call of Duty: WWII
The Call of Duty series has been going strong since 2003. This first-person shooter series is quite popular in the gaming world. World War two is a completely different style of game than the most previous release Infinite Warfare. Infinite Warfare is exceptionally futuristic with its jack packs, wall running, energy guns, and robots there really is no limit to its ultramodern equipment. World War two has a completely different spin on IW, World War two is based during the attack of the Nazi’s. So, WWII has a more of a ruin, rustic vibe.
Multiplayer: There are 5 divisions in WWII multiplayer. Each division has its own progression stats. Infantry is the first division, level 1 Infantry the player receives a rifle bayonet, level 2 is an additional primary attachment, level 3 is extra magazines, and level 4 the player can move significantly faster while aiming down sights. The second division is Airborne, level 1 Airborne the player can attach a suppressor to any SMG, level 2 the player can sprint for longer distances, level 3 the player can climb over obstacles faster, level 4 the player has increased sprint speed. Armored is the third division, level 1 Armored the player obtains an LMG Bipod, level 2 the player is immune to shell shock and tactical equipment, level 3 the player takes less fire damage, level 4 the player takes significantly less explosive damage. The fourth division is Mountain, level 1 Mountain sniper sharpshooter, level 2 the player is always invisible to enemy Recon Aircraft, level 3 the player is hidden to player-controlled Streaks, level 4 silent movement. The final division is Expeditionary, level 1 Expeditionary the player’s shotgun has incendiary shells, level 2 the player can select a piece of tactical and lethal equipment, level 3 throw equipment faster, farther and while sprinting, level 4 the player can resupply their equipment from killed enemies. Once the player finishes level 4 the division can be prestige, if the player chooses to prestige they can receive a weapon.
Something I immediately noticed in World War two was its HQ, the head-quarters in the multiplayer has a third person point of view which is something newly introduced in the series. The head-quarters holds, Mail, where the player can collect their wages, rewards from HQ, and other messages. Major Howard, is where the player can equip orders to complete, once completed the player gets a reward. Division Prestige, is where the player can prestige their divisions. Quarter Master, is where the player can interact with their collections and select contracts. Theater, is a showcase of the games trailers. Emblems, craft emblems, upload emblems, and view emblems. 1v1 Pit, the player has 60 seconds to kill the opposing person 3 times. Gunsmith, is where the player can prestige their weapons, view paint jobs, upload paint jobs, and craft paint jobs. R&R, or Rest and Relaxation is where the player can take a load off and play some classic video games. Score streaks, the player can practice using score streaks. Zombies, is the last tab in head-quarters, Zombies, switches the player into Nazi Zombies. While in the HQ the player can interact with their supply drops. There is also a personal shooting range the player can do shootouts with a friend to see who has better accuracy.
Nazi Zombies: Mittelburg, Germany was the Nazis last chance to protect themselves, the player reveals the secrets of the Nazi’s and the tie they had with the undead. The player can choose to be Jefferson Potts, Drostan Hynd, Olivia Durant, or Marie Fischer in their investigation. Blitzes’ increase the player’s abilities, for example quicker revive speed, increase sprint speed and stamina, increase melee damage, faster reload speed, and electrical attack on reload these are just a couple blitz available in Zombies. The only problem with these is that you can only equip four per game. Consumables is a one-time use gadget and the player can only equip two, but these special bonuses can get the player out of sticker situations. The consumables that the player can pick from in the menu is power-ups, weapons, and keys/discounts. The player can customize their weapons in Zombies! With the weapons build kit, the player can add or remove attachments, personalize their camouflage, paint jobs, and reticles.
Campaign: Campaign begins 1939 September 1st with a beautiful black and white cinematic after this the player commences as a Soldier named Daniels on June 6th, 1944 in Normandy Beaches, France D-Day. Fleeing to the shore, while under ruthless fire. I couldn’t help but stare at the severed body parts lying on the beach. The player must push through the trenches and clear the bunkers of Germans. This is a very surreal game, it feels as if the player is literally there yelling orders to stay low or take cover. Listen to the soldiers, most times a soldier will scream where the fire is coming from, then and there is when the player needs to take advantage of that, otherwise the player could end up like the buddy next to them, yeah, the one on the ground.  Zussman occasionally offers a first-aid kit to Daniels, I found this extremely helpful when I was practically on my death bed. The player continues the story as Daniels in different areas of France. World War two is an extremely big game with Campaign, Multiplayer, and Nazi Zombies. I’m not the biggest fan of first-person shooters but I found this very entertaining.

Wolfenstein 2: 11 modi per uccidere un nazista
New Post has been published on http://www.yessgame.it/news/wolfenstein-2-come-uccidere-nazisti/
Sono tre i dispositivi meccanici integrali disponibili in The New Colossus.
Fatevi largo a spallate
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
Fateli a pezzi
Fateli a pezzi a distanza!
Fateli saltare in aria
Ecco, questo non sembra funzionare in Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. Passiamo oltre…

17.02.17 - Researchers at EPFL and UNIL have discovered a faster and more efficient gait, never observed in nature, for six-legged robots walking on flat ground. Bio-inspired gaits – less efficient for robots – are used by real insects since they have adhesive pads to walk in three dimensions. The results provide novel approaches for roboticists and new information to biologists. When vertebrates run, their legs exhibit minimal contact with the ground. But insects are different. These six-legged creatures run fastest using a three-legged, or “tripod” gait where they have three legs on the ground at all times – two on one side of their body and one on the other. The tripod gait has long inspired engineers who design six-legged robots, but is it necessarily the fastest and most efficient way for bio-inspired robots to move on the ground? Researchers at EPFL and UNIL revealed that there is in fact a faster way for robots to locomote on flat ground, provided they don’t have the adhesive pads used by insects to climb walls and ceilings. This suggests designers of insect-inspired robots should make a break with the tripod-gait paradigm and instead consider other possibilities including a new locomotor strategy denoted as the “bipod” gait. The researchers’ findings are published in Nature Communications. The scientists carried out a host of computer simulations, tests on robots and experiments on Drosophila melanogaster – the most commonly studied insect in biology. “We wanted to determine why insects use a tripod gait and identify whether it is, indeed, the fastest way for six-legged animals and robots to walk,” said Pavan Ramdya, co-lead and corresponding author of the study. To test the various combinations, the researchers used an evolutionary-like algorithm to optimize the walking speed of a simulated insect model based on Drosophila. Step-by-step, this algorithm sifted through many different possible gaits, eliminating the slowest and shortlisting the fastest. Adhesive pads The findings shed new light on problems for biologists and robotics engineers alike. The researchers found that the common insect tripod gait did emerge when they optimized their insect model to climb vertical surfaces with adhesion on the tips of its legs. By contrast, simulations of ground-walking without the adhesiveness of insects’ legs revealed that bipod gaits, where only two legs are on the ground at any given time, are faster and more efficient – although in nature no insects actually walk this way. “Our findings support the idea that insects use a tripod gait to most effectively walk on surfaces in three dimensions, and because their legs have adhesive properties. This confirms a long-standing biological hypothesis,” said Ramdya. “Ground robots should therefore break free from only using the tripod gait”. Polymer boots The researchers then built a six-legged robot capable of employing either the tripod or bipod gait. The bipod gait was again demonstrated to be faster, corroborating the simulation algorithms’ results. Finally, the experimenters examined real insects. To see if leg adhesion might also play a role in the walking coordination of real flies, they put polymer drops on the flies’ legs to cover their claws and adhesive pads – as if the flies were wearing boots – and watched what happened. The flies quickly began to use bipod-like leg coordination similar to the one discovered in the simulation. “This result shows that, unlike most robots, animals can adapt to find new ways of walking under new circumstances,” said Robin Thandiackal, a co-lead author of the study. “There is a natural dialogue between robotics and biology: Many robot designers are inspired by nature and biologists can use robots to better understand the behavior of animal species. We believe that our work represents an important contribution to the study of animal and robotic locomotion.” ----- Source: Climbing favors the tripod gait over alternative faster insect gaits, Nature Communications Laure-Anne Pessina http://actu.epfl.ch/news/six-legged-robots-faster-than-nature-inspired-gait (Source of the original content)
