Ok my favorite thing about The Facts of Life after season 4 is the way they develop the friendship between Jo and Blair. Like, I feel like the show kind of makes them the main characters by that point, and the development of their friendship is a big part of it. Natalie and Tootie have been best friends since the show started. But Jo and Blair started off the opposite of that. It’s sort of like a slow burn enemies-to-lovers, but platonically.

I was wandering, when they renew A League of Their Own, what will the plot be like? It could be Carson getting a divorce and travelling with Jess and Lupe, or Greta wondering around New York working for Vivienne, trying to live by herself. Could be they back for the new season and all the Peaches, old and new, making a bet about how long will it take for them to make out. I want Greta getting a little jealous when one of the new Peaches start flirting with Carson ( the Peach only did it to see with she could get a reaction from Greta and win the bet).

Weirdly, I also want Charlie back, I want to see with he would get mad at Carson and make the show more angst, or with he will understand and not stand in the of Carsons relationship with the red skyscraper.

I want Jo back. I want phone calls between her and Greta, I want her teasing Greta about how much of a simp she is, I want her getting back as a Peach (and starting the bet with Jess and Lupe)

I want more Ana, Terri and Esti screen time

We're a couple of queer wives who do a podcast about the 1980s sitcom The Facts of Life. We know that's absolutely from over 40 years ago but there are people who are discovering it or still loving it and whatever. And our take is that we're revisiting and recapping the episodes from the perspective of being queer viewers who grew up when there wasn't any real queer representation on television.

We're fans who want to discuss the intended narrative alongside the subtext that comes through when we want to see ourselves in mainstream media.

Blair has her future all planned out. “After my one-woman exhibit at the museum of modern art.” One:gay. Two: one woman show,gay. 3 lastly she says she will settle down with some guy. It’s interesting she has it all planned out and for a girl who is supposed to be “boy-crazy” what bs, it’s not the first or even second thing she wants it’s the last thing and it’s just cause she’s done everything else and she will just settle down cause it’s what’s expected of her. I mean an episode ago her getting married at 30 seemed old but now it’s just meh whatever it happens it happens. She also wants to be an award winning actress that has an Oscar. I see you ma’am. But also just want to point out this husband she hypothetically marries is the “the president of General Motors.” A car manufacturing company. Hmm who works well on cars.

Then Molly teases that can never happen cause she will be the president of General Motors. Haha gay joke but also one: Molly ma’am that is gay but also why you got to mention marrying Blair. Also her response she doesn’t laugh and gets a little uncomfortable shrugging it off like I see you ma’am. You feel exposed but also Molly is supposed to be the progressive one who say they are women not girls. Molly also says she wants to be the Joan Baez of the 80s which the reference makes sense again but is interesting because Joan had come out as bisexual in 1973. This was 1979 and sure back then they ignored celebrities who came out like David Bowie but that’s interesting. I mean she has a song called Lady Gay come on!

It’s also funny how later in the season they call another girl Nancy boy crazy but never Blair huh. Interesting.
