vernon was the only one in the hale pack that looked into being a werewolf and asked questions before he decided to accept the bite. isaac and erica both needed immediate escapes but he considered his options. he did the best research he could (when derek is talking about chaining them up and spirals, he’s the only one who has an idea of what he’s talking about). even still, he wasn’t prepared for the reality of it, not by derek. scott tried to help him but he had already made the choice to turn by then. once he made his choice, he never went back on it, and he was willing to die for it to begin with.
but it’s never said exactly how derek found boyd, though. did he find him at the ice rink? did erica or isaac tell derek about boyd? either way, it isn’t them or derek who makes boyd’s decision to be bitten. it’s scott. from the beginning, boyd has wanted to emulate scott. not for his power, not for his status as captain, but because scott had a group of people who naturally gravitated towards him and boyd wanted that and had no idea how to go about it.

growing strong, CH. 4
aka my rewrite of season 2 of Teen Wolf based on the question: what if Erica was best friends with Scott and Stiles from the beginning?
Scott and Stiles start to let Erica back into their lives, but they hit a few bumps on the road back to friendship. Derek confronts Erica when she goes too far, then provides some much-needed clarity for all.
CHAPTER FOUR - ABOMINATION (click to read on AO3)
Because Erica had been bitten first, she was a few lessons ahead of Boyd and Isaac when it came to werewolf training.  In order to make it easier down the line, Derek decided Erica could take it easy as long as she maintained the skills he’d already taught her so he could focus on getting Boyd and Isaac caught up.  This meant nights where her house and the pool house were empty, and she had some rare alone time.  She’d taken advantage of it by cleaning her bedroom and watching a couple of her favorite Disney movies while working on some sketches.  It was a little after nine when she heard a tap on her bedroom window, her head shooting up to find Scott waving to her.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, not exactly upset to see him but definitely surprised.
“I need a reason to see you now?” he questioned, his signature puppy dog look causing her to sigh before shaking her head.  He straightened himself out once he had climbed inside and took a deep breath.  “I don’t like your decision, but I’m going to try to respect it.  I’m sorry that it’s taking me longer than you deserve.”
“At least you know that I deserve better,” she muttered, crossing her arms over her chest.  She was wearing one of her new outfits, so when she crossed her arms, it accentuated her chest and his eyes immediately darted to her cleavage and away just as fast.  “What are you really doing here?”
“I was supposed to meet Allison, but she never showed up,” he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck.  “She said she wasn’t, but I think she was jealous when she saw us the other day in the hall.”
“You grabbed me, Scott,” she reminded him.  “But she has no reason to be jealous.  You don’t feel that way about me, and I’m pretty sure with Allison around, you never will.”
“Well yeah, but that’s because we’re friends.  We’ve been best friends forever.  That’ll never change,” he declared, frowning when she looked away from him.  “Unless you don’t want to be my friend anymore.”
“Of course I want to be your friend,” she sighed.  “But it’s going to be really hard for us to be friends when your girlfriend and her whole family try to kill me and my pack.”
“Allison wouldn’t do that,” he insisted.
“Wouldn’t she?” Erica scoffed.  “You told me that she shot Derek.  She was influenced by Kate and probably would have helped her kill the both of you if Chris hadn’t shown up.”
“Allison wouldn’t kill you,” Scott repeated.  “Derek, she might try to kill, but you’re her friend.”
“Where do you think Kate learned to be so manipulative, huh?  You don’t think grandpa dearest won’t find a way to sway Allison to see things his way?  You don’t think he’ll be able to turn her into his perfect soldier?” she asked, shaking her head.  “You can’t be that naive, Scott.  It’ll get you killed.”
“And you can’t be that pessimistic to assume the worst from someone that’s supposed to be your friend,” he argued.
“It’s not assuming the worst when it’s already happened,” she pointed out.
She could tell he wanted to argue further, but then his phone rang, and Erica listened as Stiles told him what happened.  Apparently he had taken Roscoe in for an oil change when the monster Scott had seen at the Lahey home appeared and killed the mechanic.  When Scott agreed to pick him up, Erica announced she was going with him.  With a nod, Scott followed her out of her house, the two of them getting into his mom’s car and setting off for the garage.  As they pulled up outside, Stiles walked over and slid into the passenger’s seat, surprised to find Erica sitting in the back seat.
“What are you doing here?” he wondered.
“I was worried about you,” she answered without hesitation.  “I still care about you, Batman.”
“You okay?” Scott asked him.
“Yeah,” Stiles sighed, leaning back in his seat.  “You’re right.  It’s not like you.  I mean, it’s eyes were almost, like, reptilian.  But there was something about ‘em.”
“What do you mean?” Scott questioned.
“You know when you see, like, a friend in a Halloween mask, but all you can actually see are their eyes, and you feel like you know them, but you just can’t figure out who it is?” Stiles asked.
“Yeah,” Erica nodded.
“Are you saying you know who it is?” Scott asked.
“No,” Stiles told him.  “But I think it knew me.”
“That’s a terrifying thought,” Erica muttered.
“You gonna report all of this back to Derek?” Stiles asked, turning to look back at her when Scott began driving.
“Don’t you think he deserves to know as much as we do about whatever threat may be in town?” she countered.  “Don’t tell me you’re still butthurt about the other day.”
“What happened the other day?” Scott questioned, gripping the steering wheel tighter.
“Pretty sure I gave him blue balls,” Erica snarked, Stiles growing bright red as he glared at her and faced forward.
“You did not give me blue balls,” he snapped, crossing his arms over his chest.  “You were never this flirtatious and sexual before.  Guess I can blame Derek for that too?”
“Or thank him,” Erica quipped, giggling when Stiles huffed loudly.  “You two can keep pretending you don’t secretly enjoy this new me all you want, but you’ll be the only ones.”  She looked out the window and realized they were near the abandoned train car she knew Derek was using to train Isaac and Boyd.  “Pull over, I’ll walk.”
“You don’t want me to take you home?” Scott asked, doing as she requested.
“Nah, I’d rather work out some frustrations with Derek,” she answered harshly, choosing not to elaborate or clarify as she jumped out of the car and took off down the street.  She didn’t warn Derek that she was coming.  She simply snuck inside and lurked from a distance while Isaac repeatedly attempted to attack Derek only to be thrown to the ground each time.  “The least you could do is give him constructive criticism,” she pointed out, making herself known as she stepped out of the shadows.
“How about you try not being completely predictable?” Derek suggested, turning his back from the two of them.  Erica took her chance to charge him, catching him by surprise by kissing him roughly.  He indulged her for a few seconds too long, his hands clinging to her waist when she tugged on his bottom lip with her teeth.  When he finally regained his senses, he tossed her off of him and onto the floor, wiping at his lips.  “That’s the last time you do that.”
“During training,” Isaac muttered under his breath.
“Shut it, Lahey,” Derek growled.
“Alright, alright, I’m sorry,” Erica intervened.  “I won’t do it again.”
“We’re done for the night.  Boyd, take Isaac home with you tonight,” Derek ordered, watching as the two boys made their way out of the building.  When they were alone, Derek shot a look at her.  “What was that?”
“You asked us not to be predictable,” she shrugged, standing from her spot on the floor and dusting herself off.  “Besides, maybe I just wanted to kiss you.”
“Don’t,” Derek warned, shaking his head.  “Don’t start something you’re not prepared to finish.  I don’t know what happened before you got here, but I won’t let you use me to make yourself feel better about it.”
“That’s not-”
“I know you,” he stopped her.  “Not just because I’ve been around you for so long now, but because I am your alpha.  I can feel your feelings as strongly as my own sometimes.  I can tell when you’re with me but thinking about someone else, so don’t lie to me.”  Her mouth closed and she bowed her head, confirming what he hadn’t wanted to face in the first place.  “I’m not going anywhere, Erica.  I’m your alpha now, which means you’re stuck with me.  I don’t want to complicate that before you’ve moved on from your already complicated relationships with Stiles and Scott.”
“Why do you make it sound like you’re waiting for me?” she asked, her eyes widening slightly.
“I’ve known for a while how special you are to me,” he told her, managing a small smile as he took a few steps towards her.  His hand reached up, but instead of tugging on her hair, he cupped her cheek, the skin smooth under his calloused fingertips.  “I’m not in any place to begin a relationship with anyone, let alone with you, and you’re not going to be ready to let someone new in like that for a while either.  Just know, if I did wait for you to be ready to be with me, it would be worth it.”  His thumb brushed along her chin, her mouth opening slightly and causing him to inhale through his nose.  He decided to let himself have one last indulgence, leaning down to press his lips to hers in a slower, sweeter embrace.  She sighed against his lips, leaning forward to deepen it, which resulted in her stumbling a bit trying to chase his kiss when he pulled away.  “That’s how I wanted our first kiss to go.”
“Yeah, I should have gone with your plan,” she breathed, licking her lips and nearly drawing him in for another kiss but he pulled away and let her go.  “Um, are you going to be in the pool house tonight?”
“Yes, but don’t stay up waiting for me.  I’ll be back late,” he told her.  “Get home and get some sleep, Erica.”
“Yes, alpha,” she answered, no sarcasm in her tone as she swallowed dryly and left.  Derek just gave her more answers to questions, ones she didn’t even realize she had, than she had ever gotten out of either Scott or Stiles.  He made it clear where he stood when it came to the two of them and he gave her the freedom to come to him when she was ready, if she was ever ready.  Reflecting, she probably had taken advantage of him and his feelings for her a bit more than was fair over their time knowing each other, and she promised herself she would avoid that in the future.  Derek didn’t deserve her pity, but he definitely earned her respect all over again.
The next day at school, she had run into Stiles as he was muttering some speech to himself.  When she questioned him about it, he got frustrated at her for causing him to forget what Allison had told him, then explained that she and Scott couldn’t text each other, so he was playing messenger.  Snorting at the solution her friends had come up with, she told him to give Scott his phone for the day, and that she would find Allison to give her own phone to her.  They could go without their communication devices if it allowed Allison and Scott to talk more freely.  Allison seemed hesitant to accept the help, but she took the phone and promised to return it to Erica by the end of the day.
Because she had been so helpful, Stiles decided to tell Erica what they were looking for and what their plan was.  He told her knowing she would tell Derek everything, but he didn’t care.  Derek hadn’t given them any indication that he knew anything about the creature that had now attacked him and Scott, so they were seeking answers elsewhere.  He also asked her if she was going to the game that night, and while she initially made excuses, she promised she would be there to cheer him and Scott on.
Boyd had decided he wanted to go to the game with her, wanting to get more involved in student events now that he didn’t feel compelled to hide from his peers.  They were sitting high up in the bleachers, waiting for the game to start, when Melissa arrived.  The woman scanned the stands and immediately noticed her, walking over to say hello before she went to her seat.  Erica was polite enough to introduce Boyd, blushing when Melissa started hinting at a relationship between them.  Boyd teased her after Melissa found her seat, unable to help his laugh when Erica’s blush only deepened.  It was clear his pack mate admired Scott’s mom, and there was a closeness there that showed just how deep the bond between Erica and Scott went.
Erica always talked about her wallflower tendencies, but she had nothing on Boyd’s powers of observation.  He had already picked up on something between Erica and Scott based on her interactions with Melissa, but when she noticed Stiles wasn’t on the bench anymore and became anxious, he started getting suspicious.  Erica tried to find her friend by listening to people talking nearby, but when she heard him comforting Lydia, she froze.  Boyd questioned her about it, and she gave a quick summary, but it didn’t explain her reaction.  It didn’t explain why he sensed waves of helplessness and insecurity coming off of her.  He didn’t have much time to think about it, as Coach Finstock suddenly pointed a finger at him asking if he played lacrosse.
Boyd smirked, seeing his chance to make his mark and jump start his own popularity.  Erica tried to talk him out of it, pointing out that Derek would disapprove, but he wanted to do it.  Standing, he pulled off his jacket and stepped down onto the field, taking the equipment Coach Finstock provided.  He heard Erica say his name, so he focused on her voice as he got dressed.
“This game will test your anger.  Do not let it overcome you,” she advised.  “You’ll be stronger than all of them out there, so you have to hold back.  You’re in control, Boyd.  You can do this.”  He nodded, meeting her eyes before pulling on his helmet and taking the field.  She quickly texted Derek to tell him what Boyd was doing, and he advised her to keep an eye on him for the time being.  He would be joining them at the school soon and wanted her to bring Stiles to him so they could talk.  She wanted to argue, hating the thought of interacting with Stiles after hearing him with Lydia, but orders were orders.  She kept watch over Boyd, her lips pinched in a tight line, until Derek told her he was close and she set off to find Stiles.
“Sorry to interrupt,” she said, drawing his attention to her from where he had broken into Principal Argent’s desk.  “Derek wants a word.”
“Sent you to fetch me, did he?” he retorted.  “Well maybe I don’t want to talk to him.”
“You and I both know that’s not how this works,” she replied, walking towards him.  “Now do you want to do this the easy way or the hard way?”
“Oooh what’s the hard way?” he asked, unable to stop his own morbid curiosity.  When she grabbed him by the ear and tugged him all the way to the pool, he regretted not accepting the easy way.  He grumbled as she let him go to stand by Derek’s side, then he and the alpha greeted each other brusquely.
“What did you see at the mechanic’s garage?” Derek questioned.
“Uh, several alarming EPA violations that I’m seriously considering reporting,” Stiles replied, Erica rolling her eyes at his complete inability to be serious.
“I already told him what you told me, Stiles,” Erica told him.  “Just answer the question.  Please.”
“Alright, the thing was pretty slick-looking,” Stiles began.  “Um, skin was dark.  Kind of patterned.  Uh, I think I actually saw scales.  Is that enough?  Okay?  ‘Cause I have somebody I really need to talk to.”
“Oh yeah, I’d hate to keep you from Lydia,” Erica scoffed.
Stiles grunted in frustration before adding, “Alright, fine.  Eyes.  Eyes are, um, yellowish and slitted.”
“You said reptilian,” Erica reminded him.
“Yeah,” Stiles nodded.  As he continued, a creature matching his exact description appeared just above his head on the railing of the balcony overlooking the pools.  “It has a lot of teeth.  Oh, and it’s got a tail, too.  Are we good?”  His brows furrowed when they both looked towards him with shocked recognition.  “What?  Wait, have you seen it?  You have this look on your faces like you know exactly what I’m talking about.”  Only when he heard hissing did he turn, rushing behind them at the sight of the creature staring down at them menacingly.
The creature jumped down, right at Erica’s feet, before swiping an arm and sending her flying against the nearest wall, knocking her unconscious.  Stiles called her name, moving towards her before Derek pushed him back and told him to run.  At that moment, the creature swiped at Derek, cutting his neck and infecting him with its paralytic toxin.  Stiles managed to keep him standing as he carried them around the pool, trying to escape, but in a flash, he had dropped his phone and accidentally let Derek fall into the pool in his attempt to reach it.  He hesitated for a moment before jumping in to save Derek, pulling him up to the surface and wrapping a supportive arm around him to keep his head above water.
They knew they needed to get out of the pool, if only to ensure Derek didn’t drown, but then they realized the creature was lurking nearby and accepted it wasn’t safe to get out yet.  The creature circled the pool menacingly, but when it put a clawed hand in the water, it recoiled, backing away from the water in fear.  So it wouldn’t hurt them while they were in the pool, but they couldn’t exactly stay there forever.  When they weren’t talking about possible plans of escaping, Stiles couldn’t help but express his concern over Erica.
“She’ll wake up eventually.  Maybe she’ll be able to draw it away so we can get out of here,” Derek mused.
“You would use her for bait?” Stiles accused.
“I wouldn’t let anything happen to her,” Derek shot back.  “I can protect her.”
“You can barely protect yourself, Derek,” Stiles pointed out.
“I don’t want anything to happen to her,” Derek said through gritted teeth.  “I care about her, which is more than I can say for you.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Stiles scoffed, adjusting Derek in his arms despite the sudden urge to let him go and watch him drown.
“You and Scott are idiots,” Derek grumbled.  “And neither of you deserve her.”
“Both of those statements might be true, but that doesn’t explain what you said,” Stiles stated, huffing a breath.  “I care about Erica.  I’ve been best friends with her since we were six.  How could I not care about her?”
“Do you actually care about her or about what she represents to you?” Derek questioned.
“I don’t know what that even means,” Stiles admitted.
“Do you actually care about Erica, the young woman with hopes and dreams and desires and fears, or do you only care about ‘your best friend since you were six’ Erica?” Derek rephrased.
“Those aren’t the same person?” Stiles asked, his eyes widening slightly.
“No,” Derek stated plainly.  “Because if you only care about ‘your best friend since you were six’ Erica, then you haven’t taken the time to properly get to know the real Erica.  She’s so much more than just her connection to you and the history you share.  The fact that you don’t know that shows me how little you actually deserve her.”
Stiles couldn’t argue that point, so he refocused on their plan to get out.  He was starting to run out of energy, so he decided he was going to try to get his phone, which forced him to let go of Derek for a while.  Scott hung up the call before he could tell him the situation they were in, and he had to let his phone sink in the pool as he swam to save Derek.  Telling the alpha this news when he finally pulled him back to the surface made him feel even more frustrated.
Neither were sure how Scott knew where to find them or that they needed him, but he appeared and pulled them to safety in the nick of time.  The fight with the creature that followed was short, the creature taking off the moment it seemed to see its own reflection in the shard of mirror Scott had wielded.  As he regained feeling in his body, Derek made his way over to Erica, who was still unconscious.  Scott and Stiles came towards them, worried about their friend, but Derek sent them outside, demanding they leave him to tend to his beta.  Only when her eyes opened again did he find himself able to breathe deeply again.
“Huh, so that’s what you look like when you’re worried,” Erica teased as she came to, his fingers still brushing through her hair as he looked down at her.  “Why are you wet?”
“I was paralyzed in the pool,” he explained.  “Your boyfriend managed to keep me from drowning before your other boyfriend pulled us out.”
“You’re an ass,” she declared, wincing as he helped her to her feet.  She let him wrap an arm around her and guide her out of the building, her body healing quickly as they made their way outside.
As they approached Scott and Stiles, they overheard their struggle with what they had stolen from Gerard.  Luckily, Derek already had the answers they had been looking for, and he was willing to share them.  “It’s called a kanima.”
“You knew the whole time?!” Stiles accused.
Derek sighed, shaking his head.  “No.  Only when it was confused by its own reflection.”
“It doesn’t know what it is,” Scott commented.
“Or who,” Derek added.
“What else do you know?” Stiles questioned.
“Just stories.  Rumors,” Derek admitted.
“But it’s like us?” Scott asked.
“A shapeshifter, yes,” Derek confirmed.  “But it’s- it’s not right.  It’s like a…” he trailed off, trying to figure out the correct word, but Stiles beat him to it.
“Abomination,” Stiles stated.
Derek nodded, turning away to leave, but Scott stopped Erica before she could follow by calling her name.  “You were right,” he told her.  “We’re better together, but we all need to work together on this.  Maybe that should include the Argents.”
“They want to kill us, Scott,” she reminded him.  “And as much as you refuse to face it, Allison will want to kill us someday too.  We can’t trust them.”
“Then just trust me,” he pleaded.  “Trust me so we can work together, because this threat is bigger than us.  It’s killing people, and we still don’t know anything about it.”
“I know all I need to know,” Derek declared from his car a few yards away.  “When I find it, I’m gonna kill it.”  His eyes met Erica’s and he nodded for her to join him before he slid into the driver’s side of his car.  Once she joined him, he started the car and pulled away.
“You can’t just kill it,” she finally muttered.
“Why not?” Derek replied.  “You heard Scott.  It’s killing people.”
“So have you,” Erica pointed out.  When he looked over at her, his brows raised, she gave him a knowing look.  “I remember what color your eyes were before you became the alpha.  Don’t think I haven’t figured out what blue eyes mean.”
“That’s different,” Derek insisted, facing forward again.
“You also killed Peter to become the alpha.  My point is we don’t know the full story,” Erica declared.  “We don’t know if there’s a reason this thing is killing these people.  Until we know the whole story, no killing.  Promise me.”
“I hate when you make me promise,” he grumbled, holding out a free hand for her to shake while he drove.  “You have my word.  Unless we run out of options, I won’t kill it until we know the full story.”
“Thank you.”

I can’t sleep, thank you insomnia. Do you have any sterek fics you absolutely love and read when you’re having a bad day??
I do! The catch: They're pretty much all my own fics. XD I just find my own stuff so familiar, and since it's mine, it's always to my taste. There ARE a couple that aren't mine though, so I'll try to give you a lil list:
1. Lock All the Doors Behind You - @entanglednow Rating: Mature WC: 25.9k Tags: Feral Behavior, Violence, Aftermath of Torture, Protectiveness, Hurt/Comfort Summary: He has no idea what you're supposed to say when you find one of your...werewolf acquaintances, completely out of their mind, growling like they're about to see what your insides taste like. There's no handbook for this. Stiles is thinking that if he survives he might write one. My notes: I know that this one is very commonly suggested, and I can't even say why I read it on off-days, but I do read it. Rereading fics isn't something I usually do, unless they're mine, but this one just has...I don't even know. There's a certain level of respect Stiles has for Derek that I appreciate, even though there's also plenty of teasing? 2. Too Long To the Weekend - @dizzyredhead Rating: Explicit WC: 5.2k Tags: Alternate Universe - College/University, Alternate Universe - Werewolves Are Known, Childhood Friends, Friends to Lovers, Fluff and Smut Summary: When Derek agreed to show Stiles around Berkeley, he was thinking of Stiles at fifteen, his childhood friend, the son of his mother's best friend.
He was not prepared for Stiles, all grown up. My Notes: This one is short, sweet, and it's just a lighthearted, fluffy piece that doesn't make me feel too much, you know? It's not super intense, it's just a gentle, nice experience. 3. Why Can't You? - Me Rating: Teen & Up WC: 3.6k Tags: Family Feels, Hurt Stiles, Emotionally Hurt Stiles Stilinski, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Hurt/Comfort, Good Alpha Derek Hale, Pre-Slash, Mentioned Scott McCall (Teen Wolf), Bad Parent Sheriff Stilinski, but it was an accident, Magical Stiles Stilinski, BAMF Stiles, One Shot, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Sheriff Stilinski Doesn't Know. Canon-Typical Violence Summary:
Now. This was happening now, and he couldn’t be less prepared.
-
After a long night, things between Stiles and his father come to a head.
My notes: I like rereading this one because of the comfort, because it's nice to see Stiles feel raw and vulnerable, and to have Derek soothe that somehow, even if it's just by being near him. 4. The One You Choose - Me Rating: Mature WC: 13.4k Tags: Post-Season/Series 03B, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Depressed Stiles Stilinski, Touch-Starved Stiles Stilinski, Hurt/Comfort, Stiles Stilinski is Pushed Out of the Pack, Derek Hale is a Softie, Sharing a Bed, Nightmares, Bad Alpha Scott McCall (Teen Wolf), Bad Friend Scott McCall (Teen Wolf), Bad Parent Sheriff Stilinski, Beta Derek Hale, True Alpha Derek Hale, Frottage, Scent Marking, Scenting, Stiles is a Year Older Than Scott, because I said so, Post-Nogitsune Stiles Stilinski, I have too many tags, Mentioned Sheriff Stilinski Summary: Stiles hadn’t seen Scott in over a week, except for glances he caught during school hours. My Notes: Again, with the liking the comfort. Having someone's hurts soothed always kinda soothes my own hurts. 5. Easy - Me Rating: Explicit WC: 3.1k Tags: Getting Together, Fluff, Literal Sleeping Together, Morning Sex, Blow Jobs, Derek Hale is Good at Feelings, Stiles Stilinski is Good at Feelings, One Shot, I've never done a one shot before, I don't know what other tags to add Summary: A late night visit is nothing unusual, but something is different about this one. My Notes: This is another one that's not too intense, it's just gentle and soft. 6. All Roads Lead To Home - Me Rating: Mature WC: 42.7k Tags: Alternate Universe - Human, Alternate Universe - High School, Growing Up, Minor Vernon Boyd/Erica Reyes, Minor Lydia Martin/Jackson Whittemore, Minor Scott McCall/Kira Yukimura, Minor Derek Hale/Paige, Minor Derek Hale/Heather, Minor Jennifer Blake/Derek Hale, Mentioned Braeden/Derek Hale, mentioned Derek Hale/Jordan Parrish, mentioned Derek Hale/others, Implied/Referenced Child Abuse, Warning: Kate Argent, Abusive Relationships, Bad Parent Talia Hale, Good Peter Hale, Aromantic Isaac Lahey, Demisexual Stiles Stilinski, Bisexual Derek Hale, Minor Allison Argent/Malia Tate, so much swearing, Literally everyone cries at least once, lesbian Allison Argent, Miscommunication, Fluff and Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Happy Ending, POV Stiles Stilinski Summary: Stiles Stilinski moved to Beacon Hills in the fifth grade, ten years old and still raw from his mother’s death. My Notes: This one is longer, and it's got a bit more of a growing up, rollercoaster type feelings thing. Has some sad bits for a chance at borrowing the catharsis, and some happy bits that soothe the ache, plus some nostalgia layered over top. Again, I know how it sounds, that I mostly just reread my own works on bad days, but eh, it works for me. I hope one of these might make you feel better, and that you can get some sleep!

You Got It Good, Stiles
Steo as Isaac sees it
"You need someone like that, Stiles. Exactly like him." Isaac clapped Stiles's shoulder. Towering over him. He was back to Beacon Hills for a while. He just went when he heard about Erica and Boyd. He just wanted to pay respects.
Tumblr media
He then stayed a few days to see how things are. How things changed. And sees that one change in Stiles's life: Theo Raeken.
Tumblr media
Isaac thought, if this guy had been around earlier, Jackson being the kanima would've been found out quickly. Jennifer wouldn't stand a chance. The alpha pack would've been definitely played and sent out somehow.
"So, where do you wanna go, Isaac?" Stiles settled in the drivers' seat.
"What's the best hangout place here right now?"
"Okay, I'll bring you there. But we gotta pick up Theo first."
Stiles told Isaac who Theo was. All of it. Including what happened with Scott. Liam. Lydia. and Stiles. Then the wild hunt. Then the civilian hunters. And how he got to work off all those bad things and how he was reformed. But Isaac could tell that the smarts, and the cunning is still there. Stiles just left out one detail when he was briefing Isaac about Theo. That Theo is his boyfriend now.
Theo came to view. "Oh... Damn, Stiles!" and Isaac had his mouth wide open. "He's very good looking."
"Yup, Isaac." Stiles and Isaac's eyes dragged from Theo's head to toe. "Fucking beautiful, huh?" Stiles boasted a little.
Theo got in and greeted Isaac. Isaac greeted back then smiled back to Stiles. Stiles just grinned and began driving. And showed Isaac everything new in Beacon Hills. Isaac listens but observes Theo closely. And he could tell Theo knows he's observing him. He just doesn't give him much thought, probably because Stiles already told him who he was.
When they got to the hip mall uptown, Isaac asked Stiles about what has been itching him since the 3 of them got in the jeep. He smells Theo on Stiles. And Stiles on Theo.
"Whoa! Boyfriend, Stiles? I never thought."
"Me too! I would've never imagined." Stiles rubbed the back of his neck.
"Are you two... did he, you know."
Stiles just grinned and tipped his head a little to the side, allowing Isaac to look at his neck with werewolf eyes.
"Yeah. There is his mark."
"By the way, Isaac, do you know a way for me to mark Theo? I mean, humans don't really 'mark' like that. But I want to."
"How about the tattoo?"
"Nope. He heals very fast. No. Oh boy. Nope." Stiles shook his head violently, a tell that they already tried the tattoo.
"I'm afraid that's the only way I know. Sorry, Stiles."
"It's okay." Stiles dropped the topic.
They went around some more and ultimately ended up in the woods where Erica and Boyd... passed.
Stiles and Theo stayed back a little, giving Isaac some privacy. Then Isaac asked...
"Theo, if you were here back then. What would you have done?"
Stiles had told Theo about what happened before, Theo then began telling Isaac what he would've done back then. Isaac listened attentively. Theo's plans were good. They would've definitely worked. If only... maybe Erica and Boyd are with him in Paris right now.
Isaac was glad to know that the one who have Stiles right now is that guy named Theo Raeken. Stiles really needs someone as smart as him. And Isaac could tell Theo is devoted to the mole-speckled boy. Scott isn't exactly a great alpha. Honestly, Isaac thought Derek would be the ruler of Beacon Hills now, but after everything that happened to Derek, it's alright to just follow what he wants and live a free life as much as possible. He's glad Derek is out there in the world, with his sister. They deserve something else other than Beacon Hills.
Isaac doesn't hate Scott, it's just that from all he's seen and heard from Stiles, Scott isn't doing well as alpha. He hoped it had changed when he gets back from college. For Liam and the new pack members' sake. For Stiles, that boy is covered real well right now. Hell, if Theo ain't a chimera, he well could've been an alpha.
Stiles is good, pure, loyal. Would go deep into the woods in the dead of night for his friends. He needs someone that would kill for him. Literally. Balance. The light and the dark. Yin and Yang That's how it works.
That's why Isaac thought he'd be good for Stiles. Honestly, Isaac thought what happened was good in a way that Scott should put more importance and weight to Stiles's value in the pack. And Scott ought to know better. Mygod! Anyone would be wary. A beta suddenly showing up? Stiles got proofs. Stiles has a hunch. Oh, Scott. What were you thinking?
Anyways. He's time is up now. He must leave and go back to Paris. Stiles and Theo drove him to the bus stop.
"You got it good, Stiles."
"I know. I know, Isaac."
Isaac looked back at Theo. "You got Stiles's back, right?"
"As long as I live. And if I die before him, I'll find a way to get back." Theo answered him.
Tumblr media
And Stiles was all blushing and flattered and thinking 'Oh, you're so gonna get laid later, Theo baby!!! ' Actually, Stiles wanted to jump him right there and then.
Isaac kinda knew what Stiles was thinking.
"Okay, hold up, Stiles. I'm leaving."

for the salty asks: based on a quick look at your tags, think i'm also a fan of most things you are, so pls answer these with any fandom in mind 😌
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
11. Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?
16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change? (i'll suggest teen wolf bc there's a lot to choose from lmao but really any show is fine)
23. Unpopular character you love?
+ any other one you wanna answer 💫😚
I just saw this! Sorry if it’s been a few days!
5. I don’t think fandom itself has ever ruined a ship for me. Writers definitely have but I can’t think of a fandom that’s done it on its own.
11. I like Lizzie Saltzman and Caroline Forbes from tvd! They were pretty unpopular at the beginning of their respective shows but I think they’ve gained some traction! People disliked them because they were both kind of bitchy from a place of insecurity. Caroline put on fake niceness, and Lizzie was outwardly hostile. I felt for Caroline from the get go. And watching lizzie struggle with her mental health, i kind of understood her. Her issues didn’t excuse her actions but it explained them. Plus, they were always funny and interesting.
On Teen Wolf, I love Cora. I don’t think people dislike her but I think she’s underrated.
I thought Octavia was always interesting and she had some really spikes and valleys in her popularity in The 100. She did terrible things when leading the bunker, but I read a very interesting opinion piece on the level of accountability placed on her vs Abby and Kane. I don’t think she did the right thing, but I still enjoyed watching her character. I always liked Gabriel in the 100 too. He was so interesting. I think people disliked him bc all of season 6 was so jarringly different from the rest of the 100. And bc he he created the whatever chip things. But he was smart, cute, and deeply sad so you know I’m interested.
16. Things I would change about Teen Wolf? Wow there’s so much to choose from! First, I’d pretty much leave canon up to season 4. Kira never goes to the skinwalkers and remains main cast. Sterek is canon (down the road, like Stiles Junior year of college maybe? Make up for all the queerbaiting) Emotionally, I want Erica and Boyd back, but plot wise their deaths made sense so instead I’ll settle for them actually remembered and Isaac not fucking off to France. Actual Hale Pack! True Alpha Scott is great but my heart lives with Derek Hale and he’s lost so much he should get to have his pack with his found family. Oh! Cora’s here too! Jackson as Peter’s son! Maybe we make a few new additions to the pack Liam still gets bit, dragging Mason in too.
Plot line maybe involving the recognition of Deaton as untrustworthy! Also Spark!Stiles supremacy!!! They dropped in that he had magic and then forgot about it! So let’s say, coming off the nogistune possession Stiles starts getting powers; the possession awakened his dormant magic. Stiles starts learning magic from Deaton but he does research on his own. He figures out Deaton isn’t telling him everything. Something to this tune. Maybe a big evil too. Vampires? Lydia dates vampire?
Let me add in here a few small critiques of 2 other shows too.
The 100: season 6 and 7 do not happen. Bellarke ends up together raising Madi. Earth is hospitable. Memori and Marper have kids. Dealing with harsh climates since the nuclear explosion and internal issues. (Might sound boring but I think I would have liked it better lol)
TVD: Damon doesn’t do anything to Caroline in season 1, because I rewatched season 1 recently and it ruins his entire character for me. Give Bonnie some happiness that lasts. Many other things.
23. So I’ve kind of answered this with 11. But I’ll add, some people really dislike Clarke Griffin and I love her. She has done many terrible things but as a character she is so good to watch. (I’m ignoring season 7 bc it doesn’t exist in my head). I loved Jackson on The Originals too. (I feel like I don’t have a great idea of people the fandom dislikes or are unpopular).
Thank u so much for asking!! I hope these answers are fun! ♥️😄

I just finished answering one of these and now I wanna know yours. Top 10 straight OTPs?
1.) Ben and Leslie - Parks and Recreation
Tumblr media
If this was my OTPs list, they’d be second after Gallavich, but since this is straight couples, they have to be my number one. Amy Poehler and Adam Scott had great chemistry. Adam Scott played a lot of creepy/bad guys before this. So, when he showed up in Pawnee, I didn’t know what to make of him when he came in at the end of season 2. Pretty quickly I realized I was not only going to love the character of Ben Wyatt but we finally found Leslie Knope’s perfect match! I’ll never forget the moment I knew I was going to ship them. It was at the Freddy Spaghetti concert when Ben helped Leslie after he was against doing the concert in the first place. As soon as I saw Ben give Leslie that look as she walked away, I knew I was all in with this ship. That’s all it took! Leslie finally met someone who got her, admired her, was in awe of her, and was so supportive of her and her ambitions. They were both willing to put their jobs at risk by making their relationship known. And if you know Leslie Knope, her job is her life. Leslie’s love for Ben’s butt is also something I loved. Their love for each other is so beautiful and one of my favorite things about this amazing show.
2.) Ava and Boyd - Justified
Tumblr media
Joelle Carter and Walton Goggins did amazing work together onscreen. Ava and Boyd Crowder did not have the most conventional start to their romantic relationship, seeing as Ava was married to Boyd’s brother. For me, that is a deal-breaker! I know they’re not blood relatives but it’s still weird to me when in-laws get together. In the pilot, we learn Ava has just killed her husband in self-defense and Boyd was supposed to be killed off in that episode. The powers that be, loved both Joelle and Walton so much they brought them back for more and they were series regulars for the rest of the series run. To keep Ava part of the storyline, they had Boyd staying at Ava’s house in season 2. It all evolved from there. I had no intention of shipping these two during season 1, but by season 2, I was all about Ava and Boyd getting together. They were the true definition of a power couple. They even had matching bullet scares on their chest! They stood side by side as a strong force against anyone who tried to overpower them or intimidate them in their growing criminal enterprise. Boyd really saw Ava, treated her with respect, and saw her as his equal. They had a long history, even went to the same high school together. I always love a couple who has known each other since they were kids. I never thought I would root for current or former in-laws, but it was hard not to fall in love with them.
3.) Jess and Nick - New Girl
Tumblr media
I knew I was going to ship them from the very first episode. They are everything I love in a good ship, complete opposites who bring out the best in each other, who are also friends. Over the years, any time Jess would describe her perfect man, she was always describing Nick without realizing it. Once she was asked what her dream guy would be, and she said Walter Matthau in Grumpy Old Men and Nick fits that perfectly. He really is like a grumpy old man. There was nothing these two wouldn’t do for each other. One example of this was when Jess burns her finger on a cigarette lighter in the car and Nick puts his finger in the cigarette lighter so they would be in the same amount of pain. Who even does that?! I was so happy when they finally had their first kiss and when they officially got together. Those are some of my favorite episodes when they were finally dating. Any time they dated anyone else it became even more clear how much better they are together. They never fit with anyone else as well as they fit together. They really were perfect for each other.
4.) Corey and Topanga - Boy Meets World
Tumblr media
Corey and Topanga are the OG’s of childhood sweethearts on TV. They’ve known each other their whole lives and were very believable in their genuine love for each other. It’s not always easy to believe that people who get married that young can make it work, but these two always seemed to defy those odds. They got married during their sophomore year of college. Today I would be like whoa that’s too soon to get married! But they felt so right together, I believe I would still think they made the right choice. I may be biased because I grew up watching this show and I was even younger than them at that time, but it always felt like they were meant to be. I still remember what a big deal their wedding was. My friends and I were so excited about that episode. They clearly did do the right thing because the show came back as Girl Meets World, which was more focused on their daughter than them, so of course, I wasn’t planning on watching all that. The only good thing to come out of that reboot, for me, was to get confirmation that Corey and Topanga were still together and had two kids.
5.) Arnold and Helga - Hey Arnold!
Tumblr media
This was a very one-sided crush on Helga’s part for years! This was another show I grew up on. I shipped them so hard because Helga was obsessively in love with Arnold. It definitely wasn’t a healthy obsession, but she really loved him. It was hard not to root for her. She fell in love with him when he was the first to notice her and be nice to her on their first day of preschool. A part of me could identify with her at that time in my life. I was in 5th grade and was experiencing my first love too. She was always so mean to Arnold because she was terrified for anyone to even suspect she had a major crush on him. The best way to describe Arnold is through Helga’s own words, he’s “a funny little football-headed kid with a good heart but no sense of reality”. Helga was realistic and tough but very poetic and sweet in private. In 2017, when Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie came out, I was really hoping she would finally come clean with Arnold about her feelings. It FINALLY happened! That was 21 years in the making. Talk about slow burn!
6.) Tiffani and Jake - California Dreams
Tumblr media
Jake and Tiffani are one of my very first ships ever. They were high school students who were in a band called California Dreams together. They were like night and day. She was the surfer type, who was positive, sunny, and friendly. Whereas Jake was a biker type who scared everyone. They were even too scared to let him audition for the band. He played guitar and would sometimes sing and write some of their songs. He wasn’t the main singer of the band, but he would sing every once in a while. She played the bass and would sometimes sing too. They did have a breakup that was heartbreaking for me. He dated their friend Lorena for a short time, and it felt so forced and didn’t work at all. Again, I could be biased because I love Jake and Tiffani, but Jake himself and Lorena realized they didn’t work either. That’s when Jake realized he was still very much in love with Tiffani, and they got back together. This show also had the best theme song ever! I sing it every single time I hear it and when I do hear it, it’s stuck in my head all day.
7.) Monica and Chandler - Friends
Tumblr media
I always preferred Monica and Chandler over Ross and Rachel. They were never on and off like Ross and Rachel, which would get tiresome. We never had to deal with that with Monica and Chandler. Obviously, they are friends and know each other so well that it was easy for them to get through anything because of it.
8.) Castle and Beckett - Castle
Tumblr media
Richard Castle and Kate Beckett had amazing chemistry, even after the actors themselves were no longer getting along behind the scenes. I am amazed at how they were still able to be so believable at being very much in love with each other. Castle, a best-selling mystery novelist, and Beckett, a New York City homicide detective. Castle is inspired by Beckett and she becomes his muse for a new book he is writing. Castle uses his connections with the mayor to force the police to let him shadow Beckett. Their personalities clash in the beginning but they soon find their groove and become friends and great partners at solving crimes. The will they, won’t they was excruciating at times but paid off when they finally got together.
9.) Sabrina and Harvey - Sabrina The Teenage Witch
Tumblr media
Sabrina and Harvey were such a cute couple. I already went into this show knowing they were meant to be because of the Sabrina comic books. Harvey was always the boyfriend. So, when Harvey left the show after season 4, I was surprised and saddened. Especially, since Harvey had finally learned about her powers. He did guest star in season 5 but was brought back for the last two seasons. I really loved when he came back because Sabrina and Harvey’s relationship was so much better after he knew about her powers. They didn’t get back together and were only friends but whenever things got complicated, he was there to help her now that he knew she was a witch. She didn’t have to hide who she really was or lie to him anymore and I really loved how that changed their relationship. Sabrina was dating someone else at this time and was going to marry this other guy, but she doesn’t go through with it. For once I can actually say Sabrina and Harvey are soulmates and really mean it! Remember she is a witch and has a soul stone and Harvey was given one too. Harvey is waiting for Sabrina outside the church when she comes out and they kiss. Their soul stones drop to the ground and fit perfectly at 12:36pm, the exact time they first met seven years ago. Then they drive off together in his motorcycle.
10.) Kelly and Zack - Saved by The Bell
Tumblr media
Who didn’t grow up in the 90′s and wasn’t shipping Zack and Kelly? I thought they were the most gorgeous couple I had ever seen. Saved by The Bell: The College Years wasn’t a great show, but I was happy to see Zack and Kelly went to the same college, and eventually, we got to see them get married in a TV movie with Saved by The Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas.

Thank You, Antis
Scott McCall was never my favorite character, but the Scott McCall defense squad is making me hate him. I didn’t hate Scott when I started watching Teen Wolf - I didn’t like him, but I didn’t hate him either. I was completely indifferent to Scott. I was drawn in by Dylan O’Brien’s natural acting talent and Tyler Hoechlin’s physique, and once I actually started to watch it, I thought Scott was kind of funny. His relationship with Stiles, as well as his relationship with Allison and Jackson, were a nice counterbalance to the show’s darker tones. And then canon happened. Specifically the scene where Scott lashes out at Stiles for daring to put Allison’s life. safety and well being above Scott’s inflated ego in Wolf Moon. And then the scene in Lunatic, where Scott actively mocks, taunts, and humiliates Stiles and paints the girl his best friend likes as a mindless bitch in heat just to prove that he could do as he pleases and have ANY girl he wanted – even his rival’s girlfriend – now that he’s “popular”. Then came Magic Bullet, where Scott claims that the Argents had a valid reason to kill the Hale Pack and family in front of Derek and of his comatose uncle. And then I thought back to Master Plan, where Scott plots and conspires with Gerard behind everyone’s back, sells Derek, Isaac, Erica and Boyd out to the hunters, violates a rape victim’s boundaries, bodily autonomy and consent, dehumanizes Derek, humiliates Derek, sacrifices Derek to save his own whiny ass, and then boasts about it in front of his own victim just to prove how much ‘better’, ‘stronger’, ‘worthy’, ‘smarter’, ‘powerful’, ‘superior’ and ‘heroic’ he is. Despite all of that though, I never hated Scott. But then came Scott/Posey Stans, who refused to accept anything less than complete and utter devotion for this *objectively* badly written and portrayed fictional character. Any kind of criticism towards Scott McCall or towards Scott McCall’s canonical abusive actions and behavior is met with immediate rebuttal and harassment, even if it’s tagged appropriately. And the louder Tyler Posey’s jealous fits and temper tantrums were, the more extreme it became. Teen Wolf has always been an ensemble show; and while Scott McCall was the titular character, he was neither the main draw nor the fan favorite: Stiles Stilinski and Derek Hale were. While Tyler Posey played the titular character, he was neither the star nor the breakout star of the show: Dylan O’Brien was. Teen Wolf was supposed to be Tyler Posey’s time to shine, but everyone kept praising and gushing all over Dylan O’Brien’s acting talent (including Tyler Posey himself) instead of paying attention to HIM like he DEMANDED, and Dylan O’Brien and Tyler Hoechlin overshadowed Tyler Posey from day one without even trying. I don’t know what about that pissed Scott/Posey fans off to the extent that it clearly did, but it shaped the entire fandom. For years, the Scott McCall defense squad went on and on about True Alpha Scott, shoving him in everyone’s face, whether they asked for him or not, and it started to color my perception of the character. It got to the point where I blacklisted the Scott McCall tag so I wouldn’t have to see it anymore. Those of us who wanted to just talk about Derek, Stiles, and their journey, weren’t even allowed to do that. Sterek fans and shippers carved out their own corner of the Teen Wolf fandom and talked about Stiles and Derek’s journeys, their strength, their trauma, their tragic past, and the hardships they went through. They wrote beautiful stories that explore what the show only ever hinted at (example: Spark Stiles, Emissary Stiles, Druid Stiles, Void Stiles, etc.) or that give Boyd, Erica, Kira, Chris, Peter, Cora, Lydia, Derek, Danny etc the respect they deserved, or in which the Hales are alive. And like clockwork, the Pro-Scott stans showed up with their delusional: “But what about Scott?!” “Scott was the true hero and victim of the show!” “Scott was the eponymous character! The titular Teen Wolf! The Mexican-hero-protagonist!” “Stiles and Derek were actually the villains all along and if you’d watched the show for the right reasons the way we have, you’d know that!” “Scott is the best and most relevant character of Teen Wolf! Posey is the affable star of the show!” “How dare you Sterek and Steter shippers write Sterek and Steter stories that aren’t centered around our personal fav Mexican lead Scott?! Y’all disgusting racists!” It just never seemed to dawn on these trolls that the more they stalk, bully, shame, gaslight, guilt trip and harass people and try to force Scott on everyone, the less people are going to like him. The Scott McCall defense squad bullies are the reason so many people can’t stand Scott McCall.

Consider how funny teen wolf would have been if feral peter from s1 was more like Eddie/venom like. No one would accuse him of murder, and his weirdness can he shrugged off because of the coma, he would probably have a better relationship with Derek, and could still get away with revenge murder. I especially love the thought of Peter stabilizing and having to recultivate his image as a Sophisticated and Upstanding Member of Society lol
Now I got this ask at 3 am, just as I was falling asleep and I spend most of my night dreaming of DILF club smut and this concept. (which honestly was a very thankful break from the usual nightmares, so thank you for this wonderful concept)
I interpret this ask as Peter and his wolf arguing like Eddie & Venom. Which is honestly the funniest fucking concept I’ve heard of yet to date and I really wonder if you’ll let me write that story some time. Because holy shit that’s so good.
Peter, healing and luring Laura to Beacon Hills, while talking gibberish and twitching from time to time as he argues with his wolf 24/7. Laura takes one look at him and just goes;
“Uncle Peter, stop being a fucking creep, and let’s get you back to bed.”
“Have to kill them all...”
“That’s nice Uncle Peter, come on.”
And then she just fucking takes him back, she doesn’t get killed and we get Alpha Laura and the Hale pack (Which is just Laura and Derek, and later Isaac, Boyd, Erica, Cora, Malia, Scott, and Jackson) trying to solve the mystery of the murders in town.
NOW THAT, would be an interesting story to write. And we would get a deranged Peter who’s constantly talking to himself. So Laura and Derek try to bring in people that knew Peter that might be able to bring out the real Peter, like Sheriff Stilinski (which is how Stiles and his little brother Liam get involved) and his ex-lover Chris Argent (Which is how Allison gets dragged in.)
And we get a storyline of people being murdered by an unknown force. And due to his insanity, nobody suspects Peter, even after Laura heals him with her spark and he’s physically capable of it. Because he argues so much with himself that no one would ever suspect him.
Slowly Peter recovers and he gets more in tune with his wolf and the audible arguing starts subduing. The climax of the first season is Peter cornering Kate and killing her while the rest catches on. They’re too late to stop him but all kinda agree that as long as the killing stops at this and Peter gets into therapy that they won’t do much about it. Because as much as Chris loves his sister, she really deserved that one for breaking the code and killing innocents.
BUT THEN, of course, Gerard gets into town, Peter heals, and has internal arguments with his wolf that only occasionally get verbal. And then Peter has to adjust back to his old life within the high society of Beacon Hills (the mayor, and the town council, Sheriff Stilinski shows up at some point because he needs more budget for the police department and has to suck up to the mayor. Which Peter helps him with in exchange for a favor) but as you can imagine, that’s not exactly easy when you have a voice yelling in your head.
Jackson is bitten by Laura, as are Isaac, Scott, Erica, and Boyd. (All under informed consent) Scott and Erica to cure their asthma and epilepsy respectively, Isaac to protect him from his father. Jackson and Boyd asked for the bite and were given five days to think it over. (As were the others)
But Jackson’s bite is rejected and he turns into the Kanima. Because SURPRISE! It turns out Jackson has parental issues due to being adopted. The truth is that Peter is trans/an omega (depending on whether this is abo or not) and gave birth to twins when he was 24 years old, (Jackson and Malia) and Talia stole those memories from him and the rest of the pack and put them up for adoption. More people are killed, Gerard gets control of the kanima after they free Jackson from Matt and we get an entire showdown of the Hale pack vs Gerard Argent. But this time Chris and Allison are on the wolves’s side, as are the Stilinski’s.
Jackson is turned into a hybrid and we head into the plot with the Alpha pack. But this time around the Hale pack is unified and extraordinarily strong. Oh and Deucalion is actually the father of Laura, Derek, and Cora, but nobody knows that because Talia took those memories too after Gerard maimed Deucalion. Cora shows up, Malia is introduced, there’s a story between Peter and Noah because they’ve been growing closer and screwing around. Isaac gets adopted by Chris. Jackson and Malia’s father is revealed by banshee Lydia and Seelie Danny. (Not sure how I’d tackle that storyline but I’m sure it could fit in somewhere.)
But yeah, love this concept and this is probably how I’d write it if I had the energy and time.

Responding to a Submission, ep2
https://eusuntgratie.tumblr.com/post/646596071305396224/my-laundry-game-was-off-on-monday-so-please-enjoy
And look at liliaeth hijacking the post with her delusional “Stiles refuses to improve himself and never learned to be useful for Scott because he knows that he’s dangerous and evil and he fears what he could become with those skills” bullshit: https://liliaeth.tumblr.com/post/646621914149847040/my-laundry-game-was-off-on-monday-so-please-enjoy
This response is kinda long so I’m putting a ‘keep reading’. Once again, this is just my opinion, I am not here to start any discourse.
If you want me to respond/react to anything, feel free to submit it!
First off, I wanna start by saying I agree with eusuntgratie.
I 100% agree that Stiles’s ‘flailing’ with a gun didn’t seem like something a cop’s kid would do. Even if he wasn’t trained to use one and be a skilled marksman, he at least would have known the basics. How to hold a gun would have been one of the first things he’d have learned.
I have family and family friends (and a future brother-in-law) who have been or are in the military. One of the first things they’re taught is how to hold a gun. Where you put your hands, how you aim, the safety switch, and where to point it when you’re not aiming at anything,
My point is: Stiles would know how to use a gun. His father would show him how to use a gun. Stiles’s ‘flailing’ with a gun is stupid and the show obviously does not respect him enough to make him competent with any weapon other than a bat. (The fic they linked, Safety, is really good and worth the read.)
Also their rant (this one: ‘theo is the worst. also can we bring back characters i give a shit about, instead of all the gross ones? BRING BACK BOYD AND ERICA oh wait you killed them you assholes. GIVE ME DEREK AND ISAAC AND CORA NO ONE CARES ABOUT THIS CRUSTY BITCH’) is 100% correct, but that’s for another day.
As for what lili said…let me start by saying this:
EVERY CHARACTER HAS THEIR OWN WORTH AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE PUT THERE TO BETTER ANYONE ELSE BUT THEMSELVES
Stiles is not just there to be another stepping stone for “Scott’s the only good guy with powers!!!!” arc. Stiles is how own character and should have things for himself, just like Scott does. But see, Stiles doesn’t get these things.
I’m going to make another rant for this later, so I’ll keep this one short. Stiles never got to explore his spark because the writers didn’t allow it. Only Scott got to be special with his cool new powers, while Stiles remained the human sidekick who was good comedic relief. Stiles. Deserved. Better.
Stiles never went to Argent for training, which, I don’t exactly blame him for since mostly all interactions he’s had with hunters have been bad ones. I wouldn’t want the guys who tried to kill me once around me anymore, and I wouldn’t trust them to teach me things like self-defense. So Stiles not going to Argent (despite that yes, Argent does become an ally later) can be excused. At the same time, what makes you think Stiles hasn’t gone to his dad before to learn self-defense? Or maybe his dad has wanted to put him in self-defense classes before but never got the chance because he’s busy being sheriff. I could put any excuse here, but it all boils down to the writers. They didn’t make Stiles train with anyone, so he never learned these skills would would have been better for him, not just for helping Scott. Stiles. Deserved. Better.
Stiles didn’t get the bite. Peter threatened him with the bite, but he never gave it to him. Derek and Scott never offered the bite (to my knowledge, I know Stiles and Derek have spoken off-screen canonically in the show, but it’s still unlikely) to Stiles, and he never asked them for it (again, to my knowledge as there are canon off-screen conversations. Link. Link.) I have my own theories for this ranging from Stiles being magical to Stiles straight up not wanting it, but I am once again going to give this to the writers. They never gave Stiles the option, though it may have seemed like they had. They were never going to give Stiles the bite. Scott was the hero. Scott is the main. Scott gets the power, and he gets the glory. Scott becomes a werewolf. Stiles is the quirky side character who is the main’s best friend. He may have something useful to give the main (his brain, his dad’s the sheriff, he helps push Scott) but he’s not the main. He’s not the one who is supposed to be the star. Giving Stiles the bite means sharing the limelight, and even then, other wolves don’t get shown unless it’s in a bad way, like when Derek started building his pack and suddenly Erica/Boyd/Isaac all looked like bad guys and Jackson literally turned into monster. (All except Scott of course! He’s the good guy, they can’t make him seem bad at all!) Stiles was never going to get the bite, so bringing it up here isn’t the best argument. Either way. Stiles. Deserved. Better.
And finally, Stiles’s fear of himself. I’m guessing the part they were referring to about Stiles’s mom’s delusions is this one, so I’m going to go off that. First of all, Stiles is traumatized. His mother believed he was a monster set out to kill and would beat him (according to what happened in the scene) to get him away from her. She thought he was dangerous and would kill her, thus she retaliated and shouted at him to get away from her and to stop staring at her. But Stiles was just a child, what could he do that was so dangerous? (Okay okay I know kids are trouble makers and there could be accidents, I mean I thought setting a napkin on fire was cool, but I also knew to throw it in the sink and splash it in water to put out the flame. Kids have common sense!) That just didn’t make a lot of sense to me, but since she is sick, I’m not going to say something like “She’s wrong! Here’s a 100-page list about why!” because this is an illness I know nothing about and she is also a fictional character written the way her creators wanted her to be. So while Claudia shouting at him that’s dangerous and a killer would definitely have traumatized him, I don’t think that’s where his hesitation comes from. I don’t think it’s a “Stiles is afraid of himself and what he could do with this power” situation, but more of a “Stiles is afraid of the responsibilities”. After Stiles was the Nogitsune, there wasn’t really much of a “oh my God what have I done” period that you would have expected, and that’s on the writers. It wouldn’t have been so far fetched for Stiles to have felt responsible for all the deaths that had occurred while he was possessed by the Nogitsune. If anything, we should have seen more of that! I feel like Stiles resonates a lot with the saying “With great power, comes great responsibility”, especially with who his dad is. Being the sheriff, his dad has a lot of power and control over all the deputies in Beacon Hills, but he is also responsible for leading them and being a good sheriff. Stiles knows that whatever kind of power you have, you need to be smart about it, he doesn’t always seem to know how smart he already is, and how good he would be if he had the power. Even without it, Stiles has already proven he could be a hero, even if he doesn’t think that. Stiles isn’t afraid of what he could do with the power. Stiles is afraid of what he should do because he has the power to do it. The writers should have given Stiles some kind of power to help him grow as a character, and he definitely would have been great with it. Stiles. Deserved. Better.
So, to conclude, STILES DESERVED BETTER.
He is not a plot device to make Scott look better. He is not an idiot who wouldn’t have known how to handle a gun. He is someone who should have been given an ability of some kind to further along his development as a character.
Stiles was just one of many given the short end of the stick to make way for others to better themselves and make themselves look grander than they should have.
But that’s just my opinion. -Oopstwin

What did you just call me?
Summary:  When an unknown hunter walks into Beacon Hills, Derek goes into Over Protective Alpha mode. Everyone gets puts into groups, which they're supposed to stick with at all times. Stiles gets stuck with Derek. Ya know, The Alpha He Has A Crush On. Over the next three days, they both realise exactly how much fun their normal life can be as well.
{this is the third chapter!}
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Ao3
The alpha is extremely vigilant about following the rules he lays down, so not having him in the room kicks Stiles into overdrive. Stiles flings himself out of the bed and towards his false-bottomed drawer. He pulls out the blue felt cover tome. Over the past month, Deaton gives him a book to keep when he masters its content.
Stiles flips through the pages quickly, which are warm with his residual magic. The page he needs falls open on its own.
The Re-Calling spell. Stiles gulps. He should be using a locator spell, but he wants Derek in front of him. Right. Now.
He’s only tried the Re-Calling spell on objects that he’s given to other people. But it has to work now.
He places his hand over the sigil, which has faded over time, on the coffee-coloured page and concentrated on Derek’s face, his smell, his “aura” like Deaton liked to call it.
A second later there was a loud thump against the window as Derek was flung onto it from the outside. Stiles yelped when Derek feel back with the inertia, onto the tiles of the roof.
Stiles rushed to open the window and looked down at Derek, who was groaning in pain. Below them, Scott and Boyd are standing on the ground, looking at Stiles like he’s the crazy one.
Stiles huffs, “I’m not apologising. I didn’t know where you were so I called you back.”
Derek, who’s in the middle of sitting up, stares at him with murder eyebrows, “You used a re-calling spell on me? You could have pulled my spleen out!”
Stiles shrugs, “Then the spleen would be the only part of you that followed the rule.”
Derek grumbles and sits up. Scott says loud enough for Stiles to hear, “So what should we do-?”
Derek flashes his eyes, “We just talked about this Scott.”
Both the betas bear their necks and Scott looks like a scolded puppy.
Boyd puts a hand on Scott’s shoulder and nods at Derek, “Yeah, we’ll figure it out.”
The two betas rush out of Stiles’ yard just as the sun begins to rise. Derek lets out another sigh before climbing in through the window.
Stiles asks in what he hopes is a casual way, “What’s up with them?”
Derek replies just as casually, “Nothing.”
Stiles nods and walks off to the bathroom. He isn’t going to get a straight answer out of Derek just yet.
-x-
The day goes slowly. Jackson, Erica and Allison are missing and Scott and Boyd look dead on their feet.
Stiles tries asking them what the issue is, but he only gets mumbled responses in return. Lydia and Issac keep him company in the classes they share, but they too are busy holding secret conversations when they think Stiles isn't looking.
When the day ends, Stiles is more than happy to run out the door to where Derek is already waiting for him.
Stiles dumps his bag in the backseat and slides into the front seat next to Derek. The alpha smirks, “I didn’t know you could get into a car without falling down.”
Stiles rolls his eyes, “Why weren’t Erica Allison and Jackson at school today?”
Derek shrugs as he pulls the car out of the parking lot, “How should I know?”
Stiles scoffs. How should I know? For an alpha who loves to nag and hound his betas, Derek is acting suspiciously. The alpha is always ready to spam the betas with texts and voicemails when they’re missing. Not that Stiles grudges Derek’s helicopter parenting, considering his past. But the sudden lack of enthusiasm for the same is alarming.
Stiles pulls himself out of his inner monologue just as they reach the turn for the Deaton’s clinic. He has a “class” with Deaton on the days that Coach doesn’t schedule practises.
“I have to go-”
Before Stiles can finish his sentence, Derek’s pulling the car onto Deaton’s street.
“How did you know where I wanted to go?”
Derek replies shortly, “Deaton’s place on days with no practice.”
Stiles quirks an eyebrow, “So, you remember my schedule but not the others?”
Derek covers quickly, but Stiles knows him well enough to see the quick flash of bewilderment on his face, “I’ll remember their schedules when they start spamming me with unnecessary voice notes at all hours of the day.”
Stiles rolls his eyes and drops his feet on the dash, “Whatever, I know you’re lying.”
Derek only shoves his legs off the dashboard as they slow down in front of the vet’s clinic. And that’s answer enough.
Outside, Deaton’s waiting for them in front of the clinic’s door. Stiles and Derek climb out of the car.
Deaton nods at Derek and Stiles, “Derek. Stiles.” His head moving low enough for it to look like he’s almost bowing weirdly.
But Stiles has become used to the man’s quirks. He repeats a parody of  the man’s action, “Deaton.”
Derek growls unexpectedly, “Why’re you doing that?”
Stiles looks up to see Derek’s eyes flashing at Deaton, but his question is directed at Stiles.
Stiles shrugs, “He started it.” Which is true. Deaton’s been acting weird for the past month, but it’s not too different from his usual quirkiness, so Stiles just went with it.
Derek growls at Deaton.
The vet replies frankly, “I can’t not Derek. You know how important traditions are.”
Derek huffs and looks away. Clearly, he can’t argue with Deaton’s obscure explanation, but he still doesn’t like it.
Stiles raises his hand tentatively, “Can someone explain these traditions for the novice spark, please?”
Deaton clears his throat and replies slowly, “As the new emissary to the Hale pack, you rank higher than I do. Therefore, traditions state that I must show you respect. However, by returning the gesture, you are establishing my superiority, which can be taken as a challenge to Derek’s authority.”
The druid’s trademark long-winded sentences make Stiles’ head ache. But he’s understood the gist of it.
“So why didn’t you tell me this before?”
Deaton shrugs, “Between attacks by Alpha packs and hunters, this didn’t mean like a pressing issue.”
The druid looks at Derek to gauge his reaction. If his responding grumble is anything to go by, the explanation has satisfied him.
-x-
When they start Stiles’ lesson for the day, Deaton rubs his hands together. Which is never a good sign.
“Today I’m planning on teaching you how to bend the rules of magic.”
“What do you mean?”
Deaton smiles which only serve to set Stiles on edge even more, “Have you ever tried object spells on humans.”
Stiles can’t help the blush that creeps up his face as Derek groans loudly.
Deaton turns to the alpha, “What?”
Derek shakes his head, “You’ll find that your novice has already started those spells.”
Deaton’s head whips back as he stares at Stiles, “What did you do?”
Stiles holds his hands up, “Calm down, no one got hurt.”
Derek growls at that and Stiles amends, “There wasn’t any permanent damage to anyone… I just used the re-calling spell on Derek.”
Deaton’s eyes widen in surprise, “Why did you do that?”
Stiles shrugs, “He wasn’t there when I woke up, I just tried something.”
Deaton nods, “And you were able to handle it?”
Derek interrupts, “No, I slammed into his window.”
Deaton nods, “Right I need you to practise the spell till you can handle it.”
Stiles startles, “You want me to keep banging Derek around?”
“No. I just bought a can of worms in the back for the gerbils that had been admitted. You can start practising on them.”
-x-
By the time Stiles and Derek leave the vet’s clinic, Stiles has seen enough worm guts to last a lifetime.
Almost all his attempts had ended with the carcasses of worms being splattered around Deaton’s back room, which he had to clean up with Derek.
They quickly make their way to Derek’s Camaro as a light rain has started.
Stiles whines once he’s sitting in the car, his head thumping back against the headrest, “ I don’t understand what went wrong! I didn’t pull your guts out and you’re a whole assed human being! Those were just worms. I hate this so much.”
Derek shakes his head, “I’m not a human though. You didn’t pull my guts out cause I’m a werewolf. My body was able to handle the pressure. The worms died cause you couldn’t handle your spark.”
Stiles laughs, “Ohhh, ProfessorWolf.”
Derek rolls his eyes, “Shut up.”
They get in the Camaro and peel out.
-x-
Instead of going to Derek’s loft to pick up Stiles’ jeep, Derek takes them away from the heart of the county.
Stiles looks over at Derek, “You missed the turn for the den.”
Derek smiles wryly, “Oh, I totally forgot!”
Stiles replies with a deadpan, “Ha fucking ha, where are we going?”
Derek shrugs.
A little while later as the rain increases, they turn onto the highway and Stiles realises where they’re going. Stiles’ favourite place in Beacon Hills; No, his most favourite place in the world. Heaven on Earth…
Sadie’s.
Although it doesn’t look like much, a run-down diner tucked into a corner next to the highway, Stiles has been going there with his father for as long as he can remember. Sadie’s cultivated his love for curly fries and milkshakes.
The flickering light of Sadie’s is visible through the car’s window, getting blurred by the raindrops.
Stiles turns to Derek, smiling widely, “I.Love.You.”
He realises slowly, that maybe he shouldn’t be so blatant about his crush on the alpha, if Derek’s surprised face is anything to go by. But he tries to comfort himself because he would have said the same thing to the others if they had taken him to Sadie’s as a surprise.
Derek parks the car and stops Stiles from opening the door. Instead, climbs out and rushes to Stiles’ side, holding his leather jacket over the door,  in an attempt to shield him from the rain.
As they both rush from the car towards the warm diner, Stiles feels goosebumps rise on his back. He tries to make himself believe that they’re from the cold and not from Derek’s arms surrounding him as he holds up the jacket.
When they walk into the diner, relatively dry, Derek covers Stiles in the jacket, patting it down to keep him warm.
Stiles knows he should insist on giving it back, considering that Derek is only wearing a henley and werewolf’s high body temperature be damned, he isn’t letting Derek get cold on his watch.
But, the smell of pine cones and soap that emanates from the jacket effectively stops his brain from working. When he wrestles back control from the primal part of his brain, Stiles realises that he’s still standing in front of the door, a hair’s breadth away Derek, who’s looking at him with a look that Stiles can’t describe.
It pains him to admit that Derek’s eyebrows have an emotion that he doesn’t know about. Instead of wallowing in it, Stiles turns away to look for an empty table. Derek walks away a moment later to order their curly fries and milkshakes.
In true Sadie’s fashion, the order takes a long time to be served. So much so that by the time they’ve picked up their to-go bag and walked out of the diner, the sky has cleared.
Only, it’s late enough now that the clouds give way to bright stars. Derek stares at the sky just as they’re getting into his car and says, “Have you ever been to the roof above the loft?”
Stiles shakes his head, “I didn’t even know you had access to the roof!”
-x-
When they walk into the loft, Derek leads him up the spiral staircase. Stiles realises that he hasn’t even seen the alpha’s bedroom.
Stiles reaches the top of the staircase two steps behind Derek to find an average looking room. Of course, due to the fire and his constant shifting, the room is a little sparsely decorated, but other than that, it looks lived in. There is one door on the wall in front of him, which Stiles assumes leads to the roof. Next to the door is a table and a chair, made of thick wood. A queen bed pushed against the wall in covered in fine cotton sheets and a variety of blankets. In front of the foot of the bed is a thick, brown-coloured rug that takes up most of the floor space.
Next to the bed is a cupboard built into the wall, with clothes settled haphazardly. Of course, compared to Stiles’ cupboard, it looks much cleaner. What surprises Stiles the most is the abundance of colour in the closet. Stiles realises that Derek chooses wearing the drabbest colours
Stiles thinks that if he was in charge of dressing Derek, he would make the alpha wear all the clothes that he’s shoved into the corner of his closet.
Stiles’ inner monologue on Derek’s clothing stops when he realises that the Alpha is staring at him.
Stiles also realises that the Alpha asked him a question, “What?”
Derek mumbles, “Is it good?”
“Your room?”
“Yeah.”
“Sure...It’s nice, I guess.”
“Okay.”
Derek abruptly opens the door and walks onto the roof, their bag of takeaway in his hands. That is officially the most abrupt and weird conversation he’s had with the alpha and Stiles wants to pursue it. But when he walks onto the roof, Derek’s already opened the bags of food and Stiles forgets everything under the influence of the smell of his favourite curly fries.
As they munch on the fries and sip their shakes, Stiles stares up at the stars. The sky is exceptionally clear that day, so he realises he can ask Derek for the information he’s been needing in the past.
“Hey, Derek.”
The alpha’s mouth is wrapped around the straw of his shake, but he hums in response listening to Stiles.
“Remember how you said you were going to teach me the constellations?”
Derek’s eyes twinkle in excitement. He sets down his milkshake lies down on the roof. He looks at Stiles expectantly.
Stiles settles down next to him slowly. Stiles realises that maybe Derek knows how important he is. Because Stiles can easily look up all the constellations he wants on the internet, learn their placing, history, discovery and other stuff. Instead, he’s lying on the roof of a rundown building, with only a leather jacket to keep him warm as he listens to Derek describe the constellations.
Stiles hums and nods every time Derek pauses, but his eyes keep slipping shut. Derek slowly shifts his arm under Stiles, allowing his to curl into the alpha’s warm chest.
Stiles falls asleep to the steady thump of Derek’s heart and his soft voice describing the constellations.

jesus. how the hell has it only been a week since I last made one of these.
okay, well. here’s a snippet continuation of the first one I did for this Hanahaki fic, which has now basically taken a life of its own, to the point where the Hanahaki is a side-plot element to a larger encroaching story. but, you know. if you’ve been here a while, you probably are already aware I’m terrible at keeping on track with what I’m given.
(I also changed the tense, just because I always feel better using present when I’m trying to make what I’m writing seem urgent, and this is meant to feel more like a slow crawl of incoming doom. winkwink.)
“Scott, if you smack me in the the head with that beam one more time,” Derek growled, then twisted spectacularly at the waist to grab said beam from where it sat on Scott’s shoulder just as he was turning back again to see why Derek was yelling at him, the earbuds crammed into his ears sealing his fate before he even knew what it was he’d done. The beam splintered between Derek’s fingers where he held it aloft, and Scott blinked in bafflement as Stiles and Erica started laughing, loudly, from their position on the charred floor, where they were tearing out old shards of burnt wood that couldn’t be salvaged. Scott looked over at them, pulling one earbud out, and the white cord connecting the bastards to his phone immediately tried its best to get tangled up in itself.
“What happened?” Isaac asked before Scott could, appearing from one of the other rooms, where he and Boyd were measuring for new floors.
“Scott’s going to give Derek a concussion by the time we’re done here,” Erica explained gleefully. Derek dropped the ruined beam and glowered at her.
“Or an aneurysm,” Stiles tacked on helpfully, and the glower was switched onto him and sharpened into an annoyed glare.
Isaac looked to Scott, who only shrugged. “Derek jacked the wood,” he explained simply. “I don’t know what I did.”
“Uttered that sentence without an ounce of awareness is what you did,” Erica muttered, and Stiles grumbled a “Jesus, Scott,” and then started laughing again. Erica grinned at him, even as everyone in the skeletal remains of the main room of the Hale house—Boyd included, because he’d just appeared in the doorway behind Isaac to see what was going on—looked at Stiles like they weren’t quite sure how he got invited to the ordeal.
Derek huffed a loud sigh, effectively shoving Stiles and his laughter into a metaphorical corner. “Scott,” he started, sounding done with it all despite having only been at it for half an hour at most, “go help Isaac and Boyd with the floors. I’ll handle the beams.”
Scott glowered at him, and, though it held a fraction of the power Derek’s perfectly-practiced glower had, it had a shocking resemblance to the one Derek had just executed on his female beta and the human sitting beside her. “You can’t order me around, you know. I’m my own alpha now.”
Derek raised a single eyebrow. “Is that why you’re here helping me rebuild my house with my pack?” he asked.
“Stiles is mine, and Isaac is—”
“Don’t bring me into this!” Isaac called from a room over, where he’d disappeared back into the moment Derek had put his attention onto Scott.
“My house, my pack, and yet you’re still here. Go,” Derek outright ordered, sounding a whole lot like he did that one time he slammed Stiles head against his steering wheel for using him to get Danny to comply. “Help them measure, I’ll handle the unloading.” When Scott didn’t move, Derek tacked on a surprisingly compliant, “Please.”
And, while he didn’t necessarily look happy about it, Scott trudged off to the side room—whatever it was supposed to be originally, Stiles didn’t know, because everything was burnt beyond recognition and only the kitchen and main entryway were identifiable without furniture—leaving Derek to haul the new wood in from the small stack in the yard and Stiles and Erica to return to their excavation. Being the dead of summer, didn’t take long for the situation to become completely unbearable.
They’d started that morning early, much earlier than Stiles would have liked and would have refused to show up for had Derek not, surprisingly politely, asked Scott and Stiles to help out with the reconstruction of his family home while Peter and Cora were away in South America on the days they didn’t have to be up just as early for summer lacrosse practice. Stiles might still have refused, because his weekends were the only times he got to sleep-in past four in the morning, but then Erica had demanded Derek buy them food in exchange for the help, and Stiles was never one to say no to free fast food. Especially not when he was also trying to keep his dad on a stricter diet over the summer when all of the bakeries were offering annoyingly persistent doughnut deals and healthy food for his dad meant healthy food for him, too.
Fast food he could consume without feeling bad his dad had to sit there with his salad and wish he could be eating fast food, too? Always a win. Stiles was in, and it only took a few hours for him to regret everything about the agreement.
Summer was, by far, the worst season.
“I’m meeeeelting,” Stiles crowed in a bad mimicry of the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz. He flopped back into the grass he sat in, the pencil he’d been using to mark the wooden boards that would be used to floor the first room of the house they were working on flinging epically into the sweltering air. The sun above him beat down, making him feel like maybe Hell was on Earth, and Apollo could certainly go fuck himself. He closed his eyes, watching the red blotch behind his eyelids pulse in time with his heartbeat. The grass was long enough that it tickled across his cheeks with the movement of his breathing.
He didn’t see the threat coming until it was too late.
“Catch,” Boyd called from somewhere up on the house’s porch, and Stiles only had a moment to open his eyes in confusion before a full water bottle was nailing him square in the chest.
“OOF,” was all he managed to convey as the air whooshed from his lungs. He choked, his hands grasping at the front of his shirt, and the water bottle rolled off of him, leaving behind a trail of condensation to soak into the fabric of his sweat-drenched shirt.
“Boyd,” Scott complained.
“I thought he’d catch it.”
“Stiles doesn’t have our good reflexes.”
“Stiles doesn’t have good reflexes, period,” Isaac decided to contribute, walking back from the truck Derek had rented to bring the wood in from the home supply store with more boards for Stiles to measure and mark in his arms. His curls were slicked back from his forehead with sweat, but he seemed to revel in it, glowing with some kind of confidence that Stiles mostly attributed to his werewolf status.
“Oh, sure,” Stiles croaked as he sat back up, one hand still clutching desperately at the front of his shirt, the other scrambling blindly in the grass for the offensive object that also happened to hold the liquid of the gods. “Pick on Stiles. The only human who bothered to help your sad asses with this hellish activity.”
“There’s no way Lydia or Allison would have said yes to doing this kind of work. They’re less prone to making stupid decisions,” Isaac annoyingly pointed out, and Stiles almost threw the water bottle at him in return, but he’d only just found it again, and it was too enticingly cold to let back out of his grasp. Instead, he glared at Isaac as he cracked the seal on the water bottle cap, and then he proceeded to gulp the entire contents down in one go. The water that missed his mouth soaked pleasantly into the collar of his shirt, and he suddenly wished he’d thought to pour some over his head instead of ingesting it all.
“Cute,” offered Erica drily when Stiles resurfaced with a gasp that was half a gurgle. She’d just emerged from the house with her own water bottle in hand, her shirt twisted into a knot above her navel, showing off the hint of the abs they all knew she was extremely proud of, and her hair tied up high and plastered to her neck with sweat.
“Lydia isn’t human,” said Derek as he came up behind Erica in the large doorway, a rag between his hands. He’d lost his shirt somewhere between bringing the beams into the house and telling Stiles to start adding measurements to the boards he was going to cut, but Stiles was so used to Derek being shirtless at this point that he barely even registered it. “The house echoes,” he explained when Stiles shot him a deadpan look.
“That is not the problem I’m having with you right now,” Stiles replied.
Derek only rolled his eyes and flung the rag over his shoulder in such a way that not a single eye was not on him by the time the cloth had settled with a snap. No matter their respective sexual orientations, Derek just had that alpha pull to him that often made them all start looking at him before they’d realized it had even happened, and his body didn’t help to dissuade any of the staring. Even Scott was staring despite Derek no longer being his alpha, it was just something about him. If Derek noticed, he made no indication of the matter.
“You always have a problem with me,” he said.
“That’s not the point.”
“Then the point doesn’t matter.” And, before Stiles could do anything more than sputter indignantly at being dismissed, Derek wound around Erica and jumped lightly into the grass, effectively moving the conversation on without Stiles’ consent.

Day 1 - February 8th “Cupid”
"We should probably put them in a room together to sort their shit out," Scott said thoughtfully.
The whole room was so quiet you can hear a pin drop. Scott looked up to see everyone was looking at him.
"I can't believe you're mentioning this now after all this time. They haven't exactly been subtle since from the very start." Lydia looks decidedly unimpressed with Scott's observation.
"We didn't get along from the beginning, okay? There was a lot of bad blood with him and me, him being passive-aggressively helping while I'm stubborn as hell to not listen to his advice. I'm slow on the uptake, not dumb." Scott retorted defensively.
"Isn't that the reason why we're having this very secret meeting that neither the two of them are present for?" Allison spoke up, trying to defuse the tension. "You can try all you want, princess but Derek is an immovable wall when it comes to Stiles." Erica chirped with way more mischief in her eyes than was necessary.
Boyd sighed a long-suffering sigh. "You can't blame the guy, okay? We all know his track record with relationships."
"We know," everybody chimed in perfect unison.
"Um," a hand was raised tentatively from the tallest guy in the room. "Are we seriously trying to act as Cupid for Derek and Stiles?”
All eyes honed in on the golden-haired cherub looking, boy. "Yes, we are." The answer was unanimously bland.
"What are you going to do? Love potion?" Kira asked sceptically.
"Nope," Scott said with a grimace on his face. "Jennifer Blake. He'll just kill us when he gets his head screwed on straight."
Lydia knocked on the table with her knuckles. "We can't be subtle with the two of them. We need a steamroller to make them see it. Any romantic movie ideas?"
The silence was telling.
"Ugh."
"What are you doing here, Braeden?" Derek greeted the woman carrying a duffel bag in front of his door.
"I thought you said I could save money and stay at your loft whenever," she replied with wide innocent eyes.
He sighed deeply and stepped aside to let her in. "I'm not playing whatever game you're playing."
"Good to know that you know there's a problem." She walked in like she owned the place, dropping her duffel bag at the side of the sofa and sat down gently. "Valentine's Day is like two weeks away."
"Will you be my Valentine's?" He asked sarcastically.
"I'm going to ask Laura," she said, entirely too gleeful.
Derek made a disgusted face as he closed the door.
"So, you still haven't resolved your problem," Braeden stated with exasperation.
"Do you remember that time I nearly sucked out his heart because I don't have one? Well, I do. Vividly so," Derek said darkly, still standing at the door.
"He doesn't blame you. You do know that, right?" She looked at him pointedly. His face darkened considerably. "I blame myself even if he doesn't."
"At least you acknowledge there's something between you two. What with your passive-aggressive baking and Peter's grouchy remarks about his idiot of a nephew." Braeden leaned back on the sofa and surveyed her surroundings like she didn't just make the most profound observation about Derek Hale, Grump Extraordinaire.
Well, it wasn't profound observation. Try as hard as he might, Derek can't completely mask his longing stares and outright staring when it comes to one Stiles Stilinski. And everybody knows except the said object of affection, which is ironic considering the boy was supposed to be as sharp as a bloodhound with a scent and he views information and secrets like the only thing that would sustain him.
"Any plans to ask him out?" Braeden riffled through her duffel.
Derek harrumphed as he made his way to the kitchen. Not that he could hide all that much, open floor plan and everything.
"I'm thinking about something," he admitted hesitantly.
Braeden made a whooping sound right where she sat.
And Derek proceeds to regret every life decision he made so far.
"You're not supposed to mope about my brother at the freaking kitchen he works in," Laura grouched as Stiles beat aggressively at the batter that's probably unusable by now.
"Who says I'm moping about your brother?" Stiles retorted half-heartedly and stopped beating the abused batter.
"Aliens from outer space would have been privy to your most private thoughts about my brother." She didn't look up from balancing the checkbook.
Stiles snorts. "Ugh, how do I get over this stupid crush? It's worse than before compared to Lydia..." he pouted morosely into the batter.
"You two are entirely hopeless when it comes to anything regarding feelings," Laura commented not unkindly.
"You're - How are you and Braeden?" Stiles changed tack mid-sentence.
"We're good. Better than good, even. I, for a fact, know that she's planning a grand gesture in the very distant future. You, on the other hand," she taps her pen on her bottom lip in thought. "Well, you'll grow old and die alone as long as you don't man up and make a move."
"Well, I'm kinda waiting for your thick-headed brother to make a move actually. The ball is in his court this time around, anyway." Stiles muttered unhappily. Laura made an over the top shocking gasping noise. "Why didn't I know about this? How could I not even have heard a peep of this?!"
"We are very private people," he said seriously. And really, he's not even joking.
And so, the mad dash begins. The pack are conceiving plans to help their assumed oblivious friends while Derek and Stiles are respectively trying to work up the courage or work out a plan to... take the next step. So to speak.
As one would expect, it leads to some... well, disastrous results.
The bakery is in full rush hour at eleven o'clock in the morning, almost lunchtime for everyone but still early enough to buy brunch to curb the hunger.
Derek is always working at the bakery, and so is Laura. The only person who doesn't help out is Peter, not that he couldn't cook or bake to save his life but more to the fact that no one wants to put up with the constant "chatter" that comes out of his mouth. The rest of the pack, which consists of Scott, Kira, Boyd, Isaac, Erica, Lydia, Danny, Jackson and Stiles, they work part-time or full-time at the bakery. Laura says it's good bonding time, but really, who was she trying to kid?
Lydia and Scott were trying their best to concoct a plan that would put the two (not so) stubborn idiots in a situation to make them talk to each other, whereas Derek has been trying to work up the courage to go up to Stiles and just be... blunt, he's never been anything but passive-aggressively straightforward, anyhow. Stiles, on the other hand, is trying to make himself available time-wise. So far, every single time Lydia and or Scott manages to corner them, aka giving them space or a controlled environment, Derek is very tempted to take the obvious help. But the rest of the pack is observing with shit-eating grins on their face and so he thought better of it. Laura was resolutely staying out of this gay chicken shit, as she so eloquently puts it, but secretly she's having popcorn with Braeden to see what happens next.
So much for a helpful big sister.
Stiles couldn't take it anymore. He sighed long and loud, stared determinedly at Derek's turned back and just strode towards him.
The pack held their collective gasps as much as they could during the rush hour, simultaneously helping the customers and stealing glances at their quarry.
"Derek," Stiles said his name quietly. He didn't need to say it out loud because of two reasons. One, Derek had always focused on him whenever he's around, be it his heartbeat or his breathing, Derek is attuned to it. (Stiles would say the hyper fixation is super creepy if he wasn't so gone on the grumpy asshole of a wolf.) Two, he knows he's special to Derek. Stiles doesn't know what it is that makes him special yet, but he will soon enough.
Derek didn't turn around to look at him, still busy with packing the baked goods (?) but his body swayed in his direction for a split second with his head tilted. He's listening even if he pretends he doesn't care.
"Uh, so. Valentine's a few days away. Are we making headway or are we still dancing around it like it's a pit of vipers?" Stiles muttered, careful to make his words audible only to the intended recipient. Luck is, however, on his side because the rest of the wolves in the bakery are still newborn bitten wolves, even if it's been a few months since. Lack of desire for training does wonders for Stiles being sneaky.
Derek finally turned around to face him, eyebrows and lips scrunched in a way that Stiles has long since interpreted as the exasperated 'What the hell are you going on about?' look. He couldn't backpedal fast enough to save his tattered dignity. "I mean, okay then. We'll be friends forever then. There's nothing bad about it. Having you as a friend is better than not having you at all, so if we can just forget this ever happened-"
"Stiles."
"Uh, yeah?" Stiles asked hesitantly.
"Can we meet in the preserve and continue this conversation? There are too many ears here." Derek pointedly did not look at any of the wolves that surround the bakery.
Stiles took a deep breath. "Uh yeah, sure. No problem."
"You better be there instead of letting your brain run wild with an idea that's most likely untrue," Derek pointed his patented glare at Stiles. "I will hunt you down." Stiles shivered at the threat. Nobody should make a threat sound sexy. Like, seriously. On the other hand, he can concede that he does have a tendency to let his insecurities and doubts get the better of him but, have you seen Lydia Martin and Derek Hale? Anybody's self-esteem would plunge down an abyss and Stiles has been here before, once burnt and twice shy and all that shit. Rejection hurts no matter the better outcome that you got out of it. Lydia Martin as the best friend and sister he never had but wished he did is awesome but Derek is different. Derek is so different that he's probably not on the same planet, in Stiles's honest opinion.
Derek is still looking at him, the glare softened a little, eyebrows raised up saying 'Are we clear?'.
"Crystal." Stiles nodded like his head was a bobblehead. "I will be there and I assure you that you won't need to hunt me down to get to the bottom of this." His voice cracked embarrassingly at the word.
Derek smirked like a cat with cream.
"Shut up, asshole." Stiles gave his own glare as he turned around to make his way out of the bakery. He ignored the questioning looks from the pack.
Stiles hurried home. He has a possible date to get to. Or just plain ole revelation. Derek is taking a break at one in the afternoon. Stiles only has so much time to ponder how this will end because he's about to get his long-awaited resolution. A few months late, but better late than never.

“Fucker Shot Me”: an HYH recap
A day after Haqqani turns himself over to the Americans, the Americans are turning him over to G’ulom. Saul and Haqqani pull up to Ghazi Stadium, where G’ulom has been holding the Taliban fighters.
G’ulom is standing outside, in a cape, like he’s Andre Leon Fucking Talley (to be clear, we stan). Haqqani says he’s ready and Saul gets out of the car to give another speech that G’ulom is definitely not listening to about Justice and Due Process and Integrity. G’ulom fulfills his end of the bargain, releasing the prisoners, who all make a beeline for Haqqani because, well, he’s the Emir! Saul warns G’ulom that if he doesn’t treat Haqqani with respect, “your world will explode.” So that’s coming.
Saul goes back to Kabul station and Mike and Jenna have something to tell him.
Jenna: Remember how yesterday I had one job, which was to get Carrie on the plane to Germany? Saul: Yeah… Jenna: Well, I fucked that up. Mike: Carrie was photographed at the airport getting in a car with everyone’s favorite Russian hunk. Yevgeny Gromov! Can you believe it? Saul: Yes. I mean, no! How surprising. Mike: They could be halfway to Moscow by now. Saul: First, chill. Second, doubtful. Carrie is all about saving her friend Max. She’s probably somewhere in Pakistan. Mike: This is an outrage. Rules! I must follow them! I’m referring this to the FBI. Saul: Whatever. Send me a text or something when you find her ok byeeeeee
Carrie and Yevgeny are somewhere in Pakistan, it turns out. They’re listening to the radio, which is such a quaint thing for two lovers frenemies to do together. The radio report is about Haqqani turning himself in, and they get to talking about the CIA’s working theory that Carrie is a traitor who told her Russian handler—Yevgeny—about the president’s helicopter so that he could alert Haqqani who could fire an RPG! Phew. That’s a lot. They’re both like “yeah that didn’t happen” but also realize the, like, component of weirdness of the situation since they’re off on this road trip together and look extra double super suspicious now. “Ironic,” Carrie says while gazing out the window.
Tumblr media
They pull up to a checkpoint. Yevgeny gets out of the car because he is In Charge. He approaches two guys, who are actually his homies, inquiring about where “the American” (Max) is. They have a line on him.
Carrie and Yevgeny’s next stop is a small Pakistani village. Again Yevgeny gets out of the car and instructs Carrie to stay. But we all know (and he should too by now!) that if you tell Carrie not to do something, she turns into a four-year-old child who instantly must do that thing. Plus her spidey senses are tingling. Maybe she recognizes some of these structures? She hops out of the car and ends up at a gravesite. Rows upon rows of graves with the year “2014” etched across the bottom. Uh oh. A few split-second flashbacks later and… yep, these are the graves of the people she dropped a bomb on in “The Drone Queen.”
Carrie: Quit fucking with me. Yevgeny: Heh? Carrie: Quit 👏 fucking 👏 with 👏 me  Yevgeny: I’m not fucking with you. Carrie: Coolio, so we just happened to end up at the village I decimated four years ago in the event that probably more than any other haunts my waking nights? Yevgeny: What do you think happens after you decimate a village with a bomb, Carrie? We come in, help them rebuild the mosque, and develop contacts. It’s not a coincidence we’re here. But I’m not fucking with you. Carrie: I’m changing the subject now. What did the imam say? Yevgeny: He knows where Max is. Come on.
Saul, resident hottie Scott Ryan, and Not Martha Boyd are gathered around a conference table in Kabul station, talking to Linus and his homies back at the White House. They’re all very concerned that Haqqani’s trial will be a sham, he’ll be put up against a wall and shot, and that will mean more violence and more instability, and certainly not an end to “The Forever War.” Not Martha mentions that the lead judge is a woman she knows from some embassy events and she’s fair and independent so they can probably influence her (umm… what?)! Their meeting is interrupted by Hayes, who’s apparently just wandering the halls of the West Wing searching for something to do. He’s generally displeased this is all taking place behind his back, but no one thinks he can do anything, so it’s understandable. He flatly denies Saul’s request to declassify some intelligence that could prove Haqqani is innocent, asks again for the “action plan” to kill more brown people, and storms out.
Back in Carrie/Yevgeny land, Yevgeny continues to pry about the drone strike. He says again he didn’t put two and two together, then proceeds to ask actual personal questions like, “so is that why you left the CIA?” Carrie explains her mental state in season four, which is not something she’s ever done, but it’s interesting nonetheless. She catches herself at the end again questioning whether he’s being truthful or not, because if he is, she doesn’t know why. Poor Carrie has no concept of a personal relationship that’s not transactional.
They eventually arrive at the house where Max is being kept. Again, Yevgeny does all the talking. Carrie storms in to find Max, sprawled out on a mattress, one arm still handcuffed to the bed frame. Immediately she springs into nurturing, concerned Carrie, which is not a hat she wears often (side note: when will Carrie wear another hat?). Max says he’s fine but the narsty wound they show in close-up confirms otherwise. He explains that he doesn’t have the flight recorder anymore but he didn’t want to make a big deal about it, lest it suggest the flight recorder was not just some random red boxy thing. “You did good,” Carrie assures him.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, their touching moment ends right there because a few trucks full of Taliban soldiers pull up to the house. They uncuff Max and then cart him off. Yevgeny looks on helpless. Carrie tells Max she will find him. Then she goes off on the dude who let them in. Yevgeny has to physically restrain her. He looks in her eyes, tells her he’ll take care of this while Carrie attempts to calm her breathing. Did anyone else get the indication he has definitely done this before? He was too effective for that to be a rookie attempt. Anyhoozles, Yevgeny finally gets the location where they took Max, so it’s off to stop #3.
At Dover Air Force Base, Hayes is asking Linus for his unconditional loyalty, which is always something you want a president to be asking for. He’s really miffed that people are going behind his back but Linus says something like “we gotta be in the information flow, man.” Hayes repeats the phrase back, and you definitely get the indication he’s the type of person who uses words and phrases wrong all the time without realizing. Again, he’s the president! Don’t you feel safe?
Oh, the reason they’re at the base is because Hayes had an empty casket shipped back on Air Force One for a photo op. And surprise, surprise! G’ulom came over too. I’m sure they’ll have tons to talk about.
Tumblr media
Elsewhere in Pakistan, Saul is grasping at straws and goes to Bunny’s home. Tasneem is there, because they have no secrets between them. Saul pleads for their help coming up with a way to help Haqqani. If they don’t, there will be another war, right at their border, and that’s not great for America, but they’re 7000 miles away. It’s really not great for Pakistan, because it’ll be right on their doorstep. Bunny is having none of it. The Americans play hot and cold with Pakistan, asking for their help whenever it suits them and in the interim killing their citizens, withholding aid, and generally being massive dicks. Enough already!
Saul sees himself out, but Tasneem surprisingly comes knocking on his car window. She’ll help him. Why? She doesn’t want to watch the world burn. This is a surprise because I thought that was Tasneem’s defining quality.
Tumblr media
Carrie and Yevgeny arrive at stop #3, which is a field just above where Max is being kept. Carrie scopes out the house. It’s barely being guarded, but who knows how long that’ll last. She decides to phone a friend, but Saul never answers his damn phone. So she decides to phone a Single White Female.
Jenna: Carrie? What the hell? You made me look like an idiot. Carrie: Made you? Lol ok. Anyway, please listen. Mike: What are you doing, Carrie? Carrie: Oh, great, you again. I found Max. Y’know, that thing you guys were doing anything in your power to accomplish? I did it in like 12 hours. Mike: Who are you with? Carrie: ...Breezing by that question. Anyway, here are the coordinates. Will you call special ops? Max is in critical condition, I don’t know how much longer he can make it.  Mike: Do you have any idea how much trouble you’re in? Carrie: Do you have any idea how much I don’t give a fuck? Just call special ops. Bye. [click] Mike: You are now a fugitive, your case is with the FBI, Carrie…? CARRIE?
Tumblr media
In the Oval Office, Hayes and G’ulom meet for an “unofficial summit.” Hayes reads a headline on his iPad that declares “The Two Presidents,” which… is certainly a true thing about them. Hayes hems and haws about going back to war with the Taliban, and G’ulom says some manipulative stuff about the US being all-powerful fighters who could totally put them away in two to three weeks. Hayes doesn’t even know he’s being manipulated though and plays right into G’ulom’s hand. He eats this shit up! He loves hearing about American dominance and how he could be the steward of it. If it means murdering even more brown people, that’s just a bonus!
Saul and his new BFF Tasneem arrive at the home of the lead judge for Haqqani’s trial and plead with her that he’s innocent. She asks for literally any evidence and their response is “just trust us, two perfect strangers who barged into your house late at night.” She’s highly skeptical until Tasneem pulls up a news article about the RPG that hit one of the Taliban caravans back in episode two. That was meant for Haqqani, because he wanted peace and the ISI didn’t, and he still agreed to the peace deal. This is apparently enough to sway her, so she agrees to a continuance for one week while Saul and Tasneem figure out what to do.
Carrie is taking a light nap in the back seat of Yevgeny’s truck when he wakes her. Some more cars have arrived at the house where Max is. She peers through the binoculars to see Jalal Haqqani rolling up with his crew. Shit. Jalal enters the room where Max is being held and asks him who shot down the helicopters. “What helicopters?” Max cooly replies. Max 4 President!
Above, Carrie is panicked and phones Mike again. Mike admits that no, special ops isn’t coming. It’s too risky, they haven’t scouted the site, etc. Carrie, totally missing the point, offers to scout the site herself. The issue, of course, isn’t with the site, it’s with Carrie herself. She’s a rogue agent, calling from a Russian sat phone. Who else is even listening in on this call? Carrie says, verbatim, “I don’t underestimate the difficulty.” Whenever Carrie goes searching for euphemisms (“That is a mischaracterization!”) you know she’s in deep shit and that she knows she’s in deep shit. She pleads with Mike that Max is one of ours and we can’t just abandon him. He says they’re doing all they can, which is of course a lie. This must all feel eerily reminiscent of Brody and Tehran for her, a slow-motion car crash she’s powerless to stop.
In need of something, anything, to do, Carrie asks Yevgeny for his gun. She’s going to scout the site herself, at least see if Max is still alive. Yevgeny reluctantly agrees but vows to book it if she gets in trouble, which is also of course a lie.
In Kabul, Saul visits Haqqani in his cell, which is also eerily reminiscent of the cage they kept Brody in in season three. He tells him of the continuance he secured and Haqqani is like, “bro, why are you doing all this?” Saul says it’s because he’s innocent. Haqqani knows the truth though: after forty of years of war, none of them are still innocent.
Tumblr media
In the court room, one by one the judges file in. The last and presiding one, however, is not the woman Tasneem and Saul met the night prior. That’s right, G’ulom pulled the ol’ trial judge switcheroo! This new guy is definitely not ordering a continuance. He gives a speech about the pain and suffering Haqqani has inflicted on thousands of people. How he killed both presidents. He sentences him to death. Saul looks on horrified. He calls Linus, who informs him that Hayes has asked for new perspectives on Afghanistan, and John Zabel is in the Oval Office meeting with him as they speak. They are extremely disgusted, so we know John Zabel must suck. Outside the courthouse, crowds have gathered in celebration of the announcement of Haqqani’s inevitable execution.
In the Oval Office, Linus interrupts the meeting between Hayes and John Zab—oh my god, it’s Hugh Dancy! Ok, ok, we all knew it would be Hugh Dancy, but it’s still exciting! He has a terrible haircut, awful facial hair, and gives off general vibes of hot evilness. He makes a few incredibly racist remarks, praises Hayes’ quick action in avenging Beau Bridge’s death, and talks about next steps. Linus comes thisclose to doing a Jim Halpert on The Office impression.
Tumblr media
A few Taliban soldiers come into Max’s room and drag him up. He groans and yells. Outside, Carrie, gun in hand, makes her way to the perimeter of the house. They’ve carried Max into the courtyard and are pulling an orange jumpsuit on him. He screams in protest, doing everything he can to resist. Jalal stands in front, camera and tripod at the ready. Carrie watches in horror, beginning to put the pieces together. They pull Max’s glasses off and she pulls her pistol up, ready to shoot.
Tumblr media
Suddenly, Yevgeny grabs her from behind, his hand over her mouth, muzzling her cries. He puts her against a wall (why is this so sexual??) and stares into her eyes. “No,” he whipsers. For once, she listens.

P. Hale | Teen Wolf
Muse Name: Peter Michaelis Hale
Other Names: N/A
Face Claim: Ian Bohen
Fandom: Teen Wolf
Age: 42
Birthday: October 27th
Species: Born Werewolf
Sexual Preference: Bisexual
Family: Tali Hale [sister, deceased], Derek Hale [nephew], Cora Hale [niece], Laura Hale [niece, deceased], Malia Hale [daughter]
Abilities:  Shapeshifting [charcoal grey wolf], enhanced healing, reflexes and senses, pain transference, memory transference
History: Peter was born roughly ten years after his well beloved sister, Talia. There was a time when Peter thought perhaps there were other siblings between himself and his eldest sister, but the names and the like have since left him in the years since the fire. From a young age, he was often left out of the many activities despite his strength. A fast learner when it came to battle strategy and hunting, his role of appearance as just a normal kid when around the townfolk was a slightly harder destination for him. The pack took to those who adapted to both much more easily; wanting to keep hunters off their scent if possible. Peter, for all his understanding of why he needed to act human, felt a rift beginning to form. In his free time, he would explore the woods, finding little places no one had found on the vast Hale property, including a few places he would use later on in his life. His favorite place was a little hidden waterfall. It wasn’t vast or even very tall in comparison to others he had seen in pictures and books, but it was calm and peaceful and there was a fair amount of lush green to hide not only his scent but the very location of the fall. It became his biggest comfort when things went awry.
His father wasn’t kind by any stretch of the word. In fact, more often than not, the man’s frustrations with the other children, the “good kids”, would be unleashed on Peter as a stand in. Peter just took it, knowing no one in the pack would believe him anyway. They had done their best to shun him since he had learned a sense of control over his inner wolf that was uncanny because he wasn’t evolved, which was a hard trait in and of itself to receive. He spent many nights laying in his bathroom as wounds healed so he could clean without anyone’s notice. After a few years, Peter had a few young nieces and nephews he would tend to from time to time, but mostly he kept to himself. He continued to explore, eventually finding an old shack looking place that he began to rebuild in secret, eventually making a little house with working lights and keeping a path to the fall open from the little area around his home. Once it was complete, he often spent nights there, hidden from his family and buried in a mound of books about everything from old rituals to forgotten languages.
Academically, Peter excelled. By the time he was graduating Middle school, he was a star athlete, being recruited into the Beacon Hills High School basketball program with hardly a blink. He was the master of five languages by the time he met one Chris Argent; a young teen that Peter felt an instant connection to, drawn to the other male like a moth to flame. He found a good friend in Chris, someone who understood him and cared even when no one else did. Peter didn’t dare let anyone see he had a friend, let alone that he was falling for a human - he was already a disgrace in the family for his strange balance between human and wolf. So whenever they wanted to study, they would meet at a park or something of the sort. Eventually Peter showed Chris his little cabin, letting the other teen stay over, content to have Chris’ scent linger in a space only the two of them had. However, that content feeling began to vanish after a while, both human and wolf wanting more with Chris than just friends. With unsure reluctance, Peter found a way to tell Chris, stunned to find the other felt the same. The two knew it was something no one could ever know about, with Chris’ family being hunters and Peter’s family, although not violent or harmful, being werewolves.
Keeping their relationship hidden wasn’t hard; the pack Peter belonged to often didn’t realize he was gone as long as he was there for meals and Chris’ family wasn’t really talked about. Peter never pressed about them, knowing he really didn’t know anything about his family anymore aide from the fact that Talia was now alpha, and that he had more nephews and nieces around. Living separated from their respective worlds became a safe haven for Peter. Forgetting about the expectations of his pack, such as his supposedly new role as pack enforcer, gave Peter a kind of peace. He wanted to keep people safe, but not a t the cost of his own will should his alpha command it. He fell further for the younger male than he could have expected, not thinking that anyone could ever find out or even suspect how close he and Chris truly were. At least until he was ambushed after a practice and taken somewhere secluded, where he finally met the patriarch, Gerard. The meeting wasn’t warm, in fact, it was to give Peter one chance to keep Chris alive. He could leave and Chris’ life would be spared, or he could continue to see the young hunter and watch as Gerard himself cut the boy in two before he burned the entire pack. Fear for his mate took over, and Peter was petrified of watching Chris die in any way, let alone at the hands of his own father, so agreed to leave. He was young and stupid, and his worry for Chris kept him from realizing he could ask Chris to leave with him, cut all ties to both their families and just stay together. Leaving led him to the mountains for a while, where his balance wavered between which had more influence. When he returned, his oldest nephew had a human interest, and Peter longed to keep the pain he’d felt at losing Chris from happening to Derek, so he helped set up a way to make it happen, but it didn’t work, and in the end, Peter began trusting his wolf side more. And then Kate showed back up. Peter knew the scent, could see what was happening. Gerard wasn’t going to follow through with the entire agreement.
He immediately went to Talia, trying to explain what was going to happen without revealing his bond to Chris, but to no avail. Much like his childhood, he was merely a pawn under his sister. And when the fire occurred, the screams and smell of burning flesh surrounding him, Peter felt a sense of betrayal and sought to get out first before coming back for others. He managed to find a way out, but was trapped under a collapsing beam and although dragged out and kept alive, his body fell into a coma. The inner wolf had control, working to heal the burns so severe Peter should have died. Trapped, Peter was unable to do anything as what was left of his pack disbanded, disappearing until the only visits he got were from doctors and nurses to check his vitals and how well the burns were healing. Left to the silence of his own mind, the human side of Peter was lost more and more with each passing day until at last the wolf had full and unrestricted access to everything Peter was. And the results were not going to be pretty. Quite literally out of his mind, Peter began searching for a way to boost what little healing was left. He ended up killing his niece, Laura, who was also the pack alpha. The strength was such a surge that the side in control lost it’s grip and Peter ended up a cold, almost heartless monster. He killed anyone responsible that he could find, regardless of how close they were to the start of or the cover up of the blaze.
When the Argents returned to town, the monster Peter had become was aware time was almost up, and it was ready for the final battle. It found its way into having a pack; turning a young teen named Scott in the process [and entirely unaware of what was to become of his first beta]. He took away the will and had no problem shedding blood of all kinds. But a line was crossed when Derek went missing and Kate’s scent was everywhere. The bitch had finally returned. And now it was time to complete the circle of vendetta. Kate would be the last one of those involved and her blood would be what he enjoyed the most in taking. His move to kill the renegade met him face to face with Allison - who wore the Argent family crest around her neck and was coated in a scent Peter knew all too well…Chris. Unable to bring himself to kill the girl, he had every intention of letting her go and escaping, but was stopped, ultimately dying at his nephew’s hand. Good thing a backup plan was already in motion.
Peter had bitten Lydia on purpose, knowing full well what she was before she did and awakening the abilities. Using her, he cast a spell that brought him back and he moved to take a place in the pack his nephew had begun to make, only to watch it scatter all over again. That summer was spent searching mindlessly for Erica and Boyd along Isaac and Derek, and Peter grew restless, concerned that they couldn’t pick up the scent. Finding out why led to yet another war having been drawn in. The alpha pack wanted two of the rarest alphas, and Peter felt some pride in helping make Scott what he was. But it began to come to a head when Jennifer Blake manipulated his nephew to get what she wanted and nothing else. That kind of treatment left that gaping hole from the loss of his family seethe, and Peter made sure to rake his claws through Jennifer’s neck where Deucalion had already sliced through the woman.
Now, long after the deadpool, Kate’s coming back with berserkers at her bidding and Peter’s using her to try and get the power back he knew he could control, Peter has escaped the end result of Eichen House and has reclaimed the power of alpha from a rogue named Ashelina, who was out to gut everyone in Beacon Hills one ata time until she had the town on its knees for her. Having met Peter first, the she-wolf didn’t last long and was found torn up by authorities.

"You're back in school?" Those were the first words that came out of Scott's mouth as the twins parked their motorbikes next to my brother's one. Of course, Scott's bike didn't look as expensive as the other two.
"No, just to talk."
"Oh." Stiles and I walked closer to where my brother was standing. "That's kind of a change of pace for you guys. Usually, you're just hurting, maiming, and killing." His hands were gripping the straps of his backpack.
Aiden rolled his eyes. "You need a pack. We need an Alpha."
"Yeah. Absolutely not." Stiles intervened again, nodding his head, and patting Ethan's chest, who hit his hand off him. "That's hilarious, though."
"You came to us for help. We helped."
It was my turn to roll my eyes. "You beat his face into a bloody pulp." I furrowed my eyebrows. "That's not helping. In my opinion, that's actually counter-productive." Crossing my arms in front of my chest, I glanced to my side. Stiles was beaming at me, a goofy smile on his face.
"Why would I say yes?" My brother asked.
"We'd add strength. We'd make you more powerful." Both of the twins nodded their head at the same time. "There's no reason to say no."
Stiles dramatically rolled his eyes.
"I can think of one." Isaac appeared from nowhere, and I quickly sent him a look, asking if he was feeling better. At the forest, he didn't have as much luck as I did. A trap closed around his leg. "Like the two of you holding Derek's claws while Kali impaled Boyd. In fact, I don't know why we're not impaling them right now." Stiles agreed with him, nodding his head.
Aiden didn't hesitate to show his fangs and flash his eyes. "You want to try?"
Scott swiftly grabbed the curly-haired boy's arm, holding him back from getting closer to one of the twins. "Sorry, but they don't trust you. And neither do I." We ignored Aiden and Ethan, walking into school.
As soon as we opened the door, a roll of toilet paper hit Stiles right on the face. "All right, that's my face!" His hands immediately patted the other boy's back. "Hey, dude, good decision, buddy. Good Alpha decision."
"I hope so." He sighed.
"No, you know so." We walked to our lockers. The Hazel-eyed boy fastly grabbed his things while I did the same.
I noticed that my brother was dumbfoundedly looking somewhere. "What are you looking at?" I asked him, closing my locker while Stiles took his backpack off to fill it with some books.
"Me?"
"You," I replied.
"You looking at her?" Stiles followed his gaze for a couple of seconds.
"Her? Who her?" Oh, come on, Scott. It was so obvious.
"Her her. Kira." Stiles answered back. "You like her?"
"No." He spoke up too fast. I smirked while staring deep into his eyes. "Hey Y/N, don't do that. Don't d-. Okay yeah, she's okay. She's new."
"So, ask her out." The Stilinski boy finally shut his locker.
"Now?"
"Yes, now." I intervened. "She is leaving."
"Right now?" He asked again while Kira seemed to walk away.
"Right now." He patted my brother's back. "Scott, I don't think you get it yet. You're an Alpha. You're the apex predator." I rolled my eyes as Stiles gave him advice related to girls. "Everyone wants you. You're like the hot girl that every guy wants." I chuckled.
"The hot girl?"
"You are the hottest girl." Stiles smiled as if he was sure of what he was stating.
Isaac, who had come back, glanced between the three of us. I just shook my head. "What?"
"I'm the hot girl." Scott's expression was earnest as he raised his eyebrows.
Isaac nodded his head. "Yes, you are."
I felt an arm around my shoulders, pulling me closer to a warm body. "So you swing both ways?" To my question, Stiles seemed surprised. "I thought I was the hot girl, but I can see you think my brother is the hottest girl." I jokingly tried to look mad. "I guess you are just dating me to make my brother jealous." My tone was dramatic. "It was Scott McCall all along. He is the one you desire."
As soon as my boyfriend noticed that I was joking, he couldn't help but laugh loudly. "Don't tell Scott." His mouth came near my ear as he whispered the following words. "You are the hottest girl."
"I was hoping so." A peck was placed on the corner of my mouth. My gaze shifted as soon as I saw Mr. Stilinski on one of the corridos, which couldn't mean anything good. "Hey, Stiles," My hand rested on the middle of his chest as he continued kissing me. "Isn't that your dad?"
His gaze moved to where I was looking. He wandered towards his father, bringing me with him. "Wait a minute, wait a minute! The William Barrow? The Shrapnel Bomber? Spotted nearby?"
"A little closer than nearby, actually." A shiver ran through my body, even though I didn't know who that person was. If Stiles seemed distraught, then it couldn't be anything good.
"Dad, what's really going on here?" Stiles brought me closer to his side, muttering his words.

We had found Allison, Lydia and Isaac. Agent McCall didn't want anyone coming in or out of the school. "Barrow went after kids with glowing eyes?" We walked down the stairs as Isaac asked all the questions that could come to his mind. "He said those exact words?"
"Yeah. And no one knows how he woke up from anesthesia. Just that when they opened him up, they found a tumor full of live flies, which in any other circumstance would be all kinds of awesome." I punch his arm, which made him groan and pout.
"Did you say flies?" As soon as Lydia asked that, a fly buzzed next to my ear, and I quickly moved my arm, trying to scare it. Allison's eyes went from Lydia to me. "All day I have been hearing this sound. It's like this buzzing."
Again, I felt like a fly was near my ear.  The Argent girl continued glancing at me, but this time, everyone was staring at me too. "Like the sound of flies?"
"Exactly like the sound of flies." Lydia nodded her head. "Y/N, there isn't any fly around you."
What?
We ran towards Scott when we finally found him. "Hey, dude, where the hell have you been?"
Lydia came closer to us. "The police are leaving. Why are they leaving?"
"The police?" My brother glanced at me, confused.
"They must have cleared the building and grounds, which means he's not here?" I tried to have a little hope.
"Who? What are you guys-."
"He has to be here. That sound The buzzing I've been hearing? It's getting louder." She glanced at me. "She has been hearing it too."
"I only heard it when you said it! I'm not hearing it now!"
"How loud?" Lydia closed her eyes as soon as Stiles asked her, trying to control her breathing. So it was loud, quite loud.
"Scott and Isaac are in the basement, right?" Lydia asked as we looked around the art room. Her voice was a mere whisper.
"Yeah, with Ethan and Aiden. The plan is they meet in the middle, in the boiler room."
"All of the wolves. All of the ones with glowing eyes are in the basement at the boiler room?"
"Not really," Stiles replied. "Y/N," He pointed at me. "She also has glowi-. Oh, my God! An engineer could use a boiler room to blow up the whole school."
"We have to get them out of there."
And we did, Stiles pulled the fire alarm. However, we were caught by Coach, who expressed his desire for punching Stiles's face. Thankfully, we got out of school, meeting the rest. But Scott and the twins weren't able to pick up a scent.

Scott had been invited by Mr. Yukimura to have dinner with him and his family, and let me tell you he was quite excited. Melissa was working all night, and she didn't want me to be alone at home. Therefore, Mr. Stilinski was happy enough to let me stay with them.
I laid on Stiles's bed as he was adding things to his board. "Scott has never eaten sushi before. He is going to make a mess."
I chuckle. "Maybe they won't eat sushi."
He turned around to glance at me. "They are Japanese."
"Stiles," I groaned. "That's stupid. Japanese people don't eat Japanese food all the time! They can eat other foods too!" He shrugged. "What do the different coloured strings mean?" I asked while I glanced to the strings that were on top of his bed.
"Oh, just different stages of the investigation. So green is solved, yellow is to be determined, blue's just pretty." I couldn't help but chuckle. "They are the colour of your siren's eyes."
I got up from the bed, walking closer to him until I was engulfed by his arms. "My siren side is melting."
He snickered. "What about your other side?" He hummed, his lips trapping my bottom lip. "Does she like it too?"
"Hhmm," I pecked his lips, my tongue peeking out to lick his bottom one. "She is a little more complex." His tongue parted my lips, going inside my mouth as his hands rested on my cheeks. Our breaths mangled while our tongues continued grinding against each other.
"I believe she clearly likes it." He stopped kissing me as he seemed to notice something. "We are going to school." I stared at him, puzzled. "We are going to school. Now."
And that's what we did.
"This is just like the first time." I referred to Stiles, Lydia and I being inside the school at night. "So what are we looking for?" I squeezed one of Stiles's hoodies around my body, hating the cold temperature. He ignored me, opening a door that had a warning sign. "That was supposed to be locked." I glanced at the sign 'Caution. Chemical Storage.'
"Yeah. I know." He took his phone out, turning on the lantern. "Notice anything else?"
I entered the room. "Crystal bottles."
"The smell of chemicals. They wouldn't have been able to catch his scent." Lydia added, offering me one of her gloves as my hands were freezing. I offered her a smile, grabbing the soft item.
My boyfriend nodded his head, glancing at the floor. There was some shattered glass, and what looked like blood. "He was here, performing very minor surgery on himself. Lydia was right."
"I don't feel good about this, Stiles." I peered around.
"Probably because he was here to kill somebody."
"But who?"
"That's what we gotta figure out. We could spread out, start looking for anything." We looked around the room, in hopes of finding something else that would tell us where that crazy dude could be. "Lydia, what are those?"
As I heard Stiles, I glanced up, seeing Lydia walking towards something written on the blackboard. "Atomic numbers." I answered before the strawberry blonde girl could.
"Is it a formula?" The boy walked closer to me.
"Not really. 19's potassium. The first two make potassium iodide." She grabbed chalk, writing a K next to the number 19.
"Potassium is K?" Both Stiles and I asked at the same time.
"From kalium, the scientific neo-Latin name." Next to another number, she wrote the letter I.
"What's radium?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest and getting closer to the blackboard. "Is it R-A?" As soon as the words came out of my mouth, Lydia nodded her head. Kira, he wanted to kill Kira. "We need to call Scott."
Stiles was already calling my brother while pacing around the room. "Nothing, he isn't answering his phone." He glanced at me, biting the inside of his cheek. "W-What do we do?"
"We are going to Kira's house." I quickly walked to the door but stopped when Lydia and Stiles weren't following me out. "I know where she lives, okay? I made my research too." Stiles furrowed his eyebrows. "I wasn't going to let my brother go to a stranger's house! Have you watched any criminal documentary?" I rolled my eyes. "Let's go!"
When arriving at Kira's house, we found my brother lying on the ground. He had blood running down his forehead. "Barrow, he took Kira!" I nodded my head, more worried about his condition. He seemed to notice, squeezing my right hand and offering me a smile.
"We know. He was after her the whole time."
"We have to think of something. He's going to kill her."
"I knew he was there." Lydia seemed to be distracted. "How did I know that?"
"Because you heard the flies, right?" I asked.
My brother's gaze shifted to her. "What do you hear now?"
"Nothing. I feel like I can do this. But I don't know what to do. It's like it's on the tip of my tongue, and I don't know how to trigger it. I just I swear to God, it literally makes me want to scream."
"Okay, then scream." Stiles stepped closer to her. "Lydia, scream."
And she did. We all covered our ears, faces scrunched. "It's not flies. It's electricity."
"Wait a second, Barrow was an electrical engineer. He worked at a power substation."
"What substation?"

Scott and Stiles got out of the jeep. "Okay. Wait here, all right?" The Stilinski boy glanced at Lydia and me. I was going to protest, but he didn't let me do so. "Just wait for the cops to come."
"Why?" Lydia asked.
"I only got one bat."
Both boys disappeared inside the building. And as soon as I saw them disappearing, I quickly moved in the car, trying to grab my backpack. "What are you doing?" I only offered her a smirk. "Stiles will kill me if he knows that I let you go inside!" She grabbed my wrist. "You aren't going!"
"Lydia?"
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry." I moved the seats of the back, getting inside the truck of the jeep as I knew Stiles had closed the car. Once I was inside, I used all my strength to kick it, opening it. Then, I also went into the building.
But it seemed like they didn't need me because Kira was something supernatural.

You need more of the tessa/perrie/mel trio eh? I shall oblige but I need some info on perrie first such as personality (which i have an idea but still i want to be thorough) her relationships with members of the pack, her part/role in the pack, and how she reacts to the supernatural as as a whole.
Okay, lets see what I can remember of Perrie!
Tumblr media
The main thing about her is she is basically a female Stiles - only she isn’t as conspiracy minded as he is and will tell him when he’s being an idiot! I think her role in the pack is to try and keep him in check tbh - her Scott and Stiles have been bffs since day 1, they know one another inside out and back to front. She mothers them a bit, making sure they’ve done their homework and what not but is also the first one there is there some mischief to be getting up to! She’s the type of girl the parents love because they think she’s the sensible one but they don’t know what actually goes on hahaha
She’s liked Stiles for a g e s and Scott knows because he can read her like a book but Stiles does not. She does keep it well hidden tbh because she is so scared that if anything was said or anything happened she’d lose him as a friend and she could never handle that.
She is absolutely BUZZING when she finds out the supernatural is real. She has ALL the questions (mainly that Scott can’t answer) so she collects books about everything and asks any one she can about all the facts. She probably ends up knowing more lore than Scott just because she’s so interested! So maybe that’s another of her roles hahaha her fic was her getting taken by the ghost riders and the pack realising how much they miss her being around along with flashbacks of how she has helped them through everything despite only being a human
Because even tho she is SO interested she does not want to be a wolf
Her and the pack!;
She adores Allison from the off and they get on like a house on fire, not best friends but definitely hang out away from the boys and do their homework together. They make sure they do normal things away from the pack, Allison introduces her to what it’s like with a girl friend instead of hanging out with boys getting muddy in the woods
Her and Lydia do not get along. It’s not because of the Stiles thing tho (she hates that he’s obsessed with her but more because it’s a creepy way of liking someone and she is trying to train these boys to respect women!) but because she’s everything Perrie isn’t and they’ve never really gotten along. It defo takes a while before Perrie will get into a conversation with her, I think it would be Allison’s death that would bring them together a little bit more…which would irritate Allison no end because she would always try and get them to hang as a three
She does get on with Malia and Kira though, they would go out as a three drinking and dancing. They aren’t the types to do ‘normal’ things to get away from the pack though, that was always her and Allison’s thing and by the time these three are together Perrie is like ‘Well I’m already in this deep’
HUGE crush on Derek. Can’t even look him in the eye. He gets v confused.
She didn’t 100% trust Isaac, Erica and Boyd which is sad because before she became a werewolf Perrie would look out for Erica and she did ship Allisaac (Boyd pretty much kept himself to himself so she didn’t know much about him)
She’s currently writing up the adoption papers for Liam - he starts off having a crush on her but is soon batting her away and telling her to please stop fussing, yes I am doing my homework!!! Same with Mason.
She has a little soft spot for Theo (Once upon a time she was going to be a Stiles/Theo OC bc Becca wanted more Theo OCs hahaha but we’re linking her story - Shadows and Monsters - with this so that would defo not work), not when he’s manipulating Liam and attacking Scott, but when she hears about his backstory and all that, and when he comes back from hell I think it’d take time for her to trust him but she’d be more forthcoming than Stiles lol
