I watched Miss Congeniality yesterday and omg New York was so real for that

ALSO THE MC AND RODE ISLAND SHOULDVE BEEN GAY NO I DONT TAKE CRITICISIM/hj

But aside from the Mc being low-key kinda sexist in the biggining (for plot and executed really well actually) and some of the over the top fan service (as tasteful a 2000s movie can be and actually really funny) it was really fucking good. For an hour and half movie the paceing was really good. Something I noticed about newer movies that they try to rush through everything and provide wayy to much information thus treating their audience like idiots. Not saying all movies, but yeah I feel like I'm 5 when I'm watching Hollywood movies that came out n the last 5 years.

And yeah the Mc was kinda terrible in the biggining but it was still handled pretty well I think. Like she didnt go all supper feminine at the end and still stayed true to herself, just without the self lothing of being a woman. And she learned to take better care of herself!!! We love self care. I have much more thoughts about this but idk how to articulate it any better

ALSO THE SENCE WHERE THE MC IS JUST POPING OFF AND THE MALE LEAD TAKES THE CREDIT FOR IT IS ACTUALLY SO FUNNY like, it was self aware and well done and not in a hateful way AND FUCK GOOD MOVIE GO WATCH .

But the script probably my favorite part. It didn't feel like u where told the plot, you where seeing it AND BROSKIS I WANNA SEE MORE OF THAT!!! like, each scene was imprtant to the plot even if it didn't feel like it was. Other plot or character development. WE LOVE GOOD SCRIPTING.

before firelord azulon dies, he writes a will stating that the next firelord will be zuko. so zuko for a few years is kinda like, a firelord puppet figure to ozai untill the war counsel that lead to zukos banishment in cannon. except that this time zuko comes to terms of orzais shittynes (as hes been ploting behind his back and stuff). so zuko and ozai have a fight (in private) and ozai looses his shit and burns zuko. ozai ends up in prison and zuko re evaluates their political conquests and all the shit ozai was hinding from him. 2/3 years later the avatar returns and does the same thing hes does in cannon. except the firenation doesnt try to capture him and insetead invite him to the firenation. when they get an audience with him they kinda get upset at eachother (cuz zuko is all like, still pretty imperialist and stuff just not as violent as his predecessors and sokka, katara and aang are not here for any of that shit). so long story short it doesn’t go well, but before they can don’t much else ozais supporters stage a coup d’état and try to assasnate zuko. they dont manage to kill zuko a but the overthorwing the goverment works and the ganng end up having to save him. they escape and try to stay away from the firenation. zuko learns why colonization is bad and ends up having to deal with living outside of the palace (so no bed?). la la la la la they take back the firenation and all is well. (you can probs guess what happens inbetween and yes toph does exist in this universe and is v inportant). also the firenation while under ozai just gets, considerably shittier. and yeah thats about it. dragons happen, zuko and sokka bond over literature and azula gets a redemption arc. (lol she probs gets sent to capture the avater and old firelord ahaha)
