Bpp I love how you talk about rhythm, music, stage presence and dance! I think the Big 3 companies and HYBE all have characteristic themes to their dances. For example, SM is standard idol dance, JYP is more feeling the beat, YG is more groovy and swag, and HYBE is POWER INTENSE POWER INTENSE. Who are your best dancers in the kpop industry?

Hi Anon,

I believe the way you think about the different agencies' dance styles are more or less true, in very loose terms. I mean, all agencies/groups have some form of 'standard' idol dancing, synchronization, grooviness, and intensity.

But the thing that even a lot k-pop stans agreed on about BTS (before BTS broke out), and then later HYBE (before 2022... long story), was that their choreography was different and that it always, without fail, elevated the music and performance.

There's a reason Jimin's Lie choreography caught on like wildfire. Yes Jimin's ability in itself was noteworthy, but although other idols had done Contemporary-style interpretative dancing before, nobody had done anything that looked even remotely like Lie.

I'm not sure it makes sense to describe HYBE's choreo style as one thing given HYBE is really just a group of agencies with their own identities (though there's sometimes overlap), but one thing I believe everyone can agree on, is that every group has strong dance and performance cred. And for BigHit in particular, there's a distinct hiphop influence. I'll list a few examples from some groups:

Of course, I'm very saddened by the news... and even though we know this has to happen, it's always a bit of a shock.

I always thought NJ was going to be the second one (because of his comment about a second album and the possibility of it being released with him already enlisted).

I certainly never thought Suga would be next. I knew he had until 31 December this year (not March! Army was always a bit confused about dates) and hadn't announced any big projects (until a fortnight ago).

Hobi also seemed to have more projects to do... his recent appointment as LV ambassador didn't bode well for him to leave us in a few months either...

Altough , I think we all recognise that he has already achieved great things in this second solo chapter. His big projects are remarkable and a reference for the rest of the members. 🥰

Maybe now was his time...to enlist the second to come out soon and create new projects, individual and/or for BTS (he is one of their most creative authors).

I'm being practical and objective 😖

Actually, if justice always ruled our lives, there would be no "good time" for him, because they would serve the country in the best and most efficient way possible: by being ambassadors of their culture (and not soldiers). Or are geopolitics and international relations not part of a country's defences? Like having a strong GDP...

Both governments failed them. And they failed the general interests of their country by not wanting to stand up to their most conservative voters. What a pity!
