i will always be a firm believer that this was Mike's oh no i like him moment
Tumblr media
and that's why he immediately went after El because he likes her too right? she's cute and really pretty, she's cool she has powers and saved their lifes so many times already! and he really cares for her and missed her this year and it's like Nancy and Lucas said he must have a crush on her! that must be it. so maybe if he focuses on her these feelings for Will (whatever those feelings might be) will go away and he can be normal right?
Tumblr media
and this was his oh fuck i'm in love with him and it won't just go away but it's too late now moment

okay say queerbaiting or milkvan endgame all you want but i have yet to see any plausible heterosexual explanation for the following
- the airport hug
he was happy to hug will in season 3 and happy to hug lucas in season 4. when the entirety of the show has made it clear that mike and will share the more profound bond (destiel iykyk) out of the party it makes no sense for him to not want to hug him- unless it’s because of his queer realisations atm
- ‘we’re friends, WE’RE FRIENDS’
um it is simply not plausible that mike clocked wills feelings enough to say this yet didn’t pick up what he was putting down in the van speech. bffr mike was absolutely on the defensive here, mans was trying to convince himself
- mike looking at eddie
you’re telling me you watched the scene in episode one where eddie has his ‘if you’re inTo baNd’ speech and still think mike isn’t a homo? he has a lil fanboy crush on eddie and none shall convince me otherwise
- mikes reaction to el kissing him and i love you too
there is no heterosexual reason for him to look so taken aback and distressed after her kiss and her saying she loves him too. the music and els face all suggest a beautiful moment of love but mikes face looks shocked completely contrasting this. esp contrasted against his face at ‘what if you wanna join another party’ and considering his face when he hugs karen at the end of s3. up till then he had made no effort to try and rekindle their relationship but still wanted to see her and talk to her while she was away. ur gonna look at me and ur gonna tell me that i’m wrong
- ‘i care for you so much’
yes i understand that some people have trouble saying i love you- as we see with nancy and steve. bUt the way this is framed in this scene makes it feel queer. he is deflecting he says he cares for her but can’t say he loves her. this is why i’m a gay mike truther this feels like he’s trying so hard to be someone he’s not but he’s reached his limit. he can’t truly say he loves her until under so much duress and pressure. even when he first said ily in season 3 was just a slip up and significance was only given to the words through everyone else’s reactions, not mikes own reaction.
- ‘mrs byers has this new job, mikes always complaining about it’
im sure i butchered this quote but we KNOW him and el only talked on walkies because she couldn’t talk on the phone for dead of the government figuring out she was alive. this line proves mike called plenty and he can only have been calling to talk to will. while yes it is feasible that he was calling as friends, why wouldn’t he say something? leaving this revelation until the last season makes it significant, and therefore makes it romantic and queer.
- shared looks
do i even need to explain. their looks are just fucking gay. especially that one in season 3 where wills like he’s here and mike just keeps staring at him for a good while
- the emphasis on lucas and mikes friendship
they make clear in season 1 that lucas is mikes best friend by mikes convo with dustin. and in season three their status as best friends is made clear because they relate and complain to each other all the time. then WHY throughout the WHOLE show is mike and wills bond given the most focus??? season 1 will is mikes motivation, season 2 he is his priority, season 3 they have an important arc and season 4 they have ups and downs but ultimately their relationship is regarded as most important- they are the only two from the original party who have consistently been paired together. dustin and lucas were both in the hawkins crew but were always in separate groups. there is no heterosexual reason to make clear who mikes best friend js then spend 4 seasons focused on his relationship with will.
- framing
there is no heterosexual reason to frame him in a closet at the milkvan season 3 kiss. there is no heterosexual reason to put a one way sign pointing to his closet. there is no heterosexual reason to pair him and will in the closing shot alongside two other endgame couples. need i say more.
- blue and yellow
obviously this colour symbolism is undeniable at this point. whether or not ppl believe it symbolises their relationship or just their characters, it’s clear that will is yellow and mike is blue. there’s a reason we barely see green clothing or lighting. there’s a reason mikes bouquet to el had purple (her colour) but too much yellow (will). there’s a reason their flannels always have hints of the other persons colour.
- will as mikes priority
instead of coming crawling back to el for forgiveness in s3 he goes to will. he says his life started when he found el (a lie like the rest of that speech) yet when will went missing he only cared about him. all of season 2 showed that he loves will so much he wouldn’t leave his side ever.
i have many other opinions about why milkvan endgame would completely undermine so many messages of the show but yeah i’ll stop for now

thinking about how there were two examples of unrequited love/crush in stranger things (dustin/max and steve/robin) and how they were handled delicately yet quickly and easily in the same season they were introduced.
dustin has a crush on max when he first sees her in s2 but quite quickly he gets over it when he realised how well her and lucas work together. he goes on to get a girlfriend the next season so he’s obviously not dwelling over it. if the byler/mileven love triangle was handled the same way that max, dustin and lucas’ was then wills unrequited feeling would be much more plausible.
in s3 when we’re introduced to robin steve also has a crush on her and dustin points this out. the difference here is that it’s not really a love triangle, but an example of unrequited feelings because of someone’s sexuality. not long after steve starts to develop feelings for robin she comes out to him and he accepts her, they move on and stay friends. while all this is happening wills has feelings for mike but it isn’t commented on, nobody draws attention to it. it’s supposed to be subtle and gradual. it’s literally just slow burn and i’m surprised it’s not more obvious to the general audience.
the difference with byler is that will’s crush has been dragged out for at least the last two or three seasons and there still hasn’t been any resolution or response from mike and/or el. not only would it be heartbreaking to put will through all of that yearning for years just for him to get rejected, but also it narratively makes no sense. all of the development of their relationship, especially in season four, was for nothing? if will’s feelings were unrequited, then season 4 or preferably season 3 would be the right time to show this. not in the final season. especially when he’s supposed to finally be getting his ‘happy ending’. he’s been through so much suffering, being ‘rejected by mike but being accepted for being gay’ is not gonna cut it for a happy ending. will is miserable; if he’s getting a happy ending it’s gonna be something that will surprise him and change his life. it will be something that subverts his negative self-perception and doubts. you know what would do exactly that? mike reciprocating his feelings.
it’s not just about will either. it’s important for his own self-acceptance but mike’s too. especially even. mike is the most repressed when it comes to his feelings and his sexuality and it would be incredibly important for him to come to terms with that and what better way than to accept himself and his feelings by confessing to will? also, el and mike don’t have a good relationship: they have nothing in common, don’t know each other very well, and struggle to communicate with each other. they don’t feel like they can be themselves around each other.
i don’t like when people act like it’s as surface level as whether or not mike is gay and if ‘he’s shown any evidence of being attracted to men’ because it’s a lot deeper than that. people say it’s nothing more than platonic when it’s been shown again and again how different their relationship is to their relationships with the rest of the party.
plus how can anyone have watched season 4 and said he has no signs of attraction to guys?? were we even watching the same show?

Lost in Translation
Part one
Summary: All Adam ever seems to hear is Kim talking about Roman. In Molly’s, in the locker room, when he’s just walking through the district. All he ever hears is Kim making comments about Roman, about their relationship, about all the domestic elements of their life.
And it's killing him.
Or; Obliviousness, a game of telephone and a healthy dose of gossip leads to miscommunication... Miscommunication that just may lead Adam and Kim back together.
Set in S3, post break-up AU.
Word Count: 3k words
Read on AO3
Notes: This fic very much spawned from a cracky idea, so while it may seem angsty (and it is), it is primarily a fic that is rooted in humour. It is also a two part fic, this is part one, as it works better that way. It is also my first (posted) burzek multi-chapter, technically.
I first created this idea back in 2021, so I'm very happy I've finally written it and I hope y'all enjoy! 💖
Adam knew something was up with Kim and Roman.
That something was different, a difference that occurred after his engagement to Kim imploded and Adam isn’t stupid enough to not know that the difference most likely was because of said implosion. He may have been stupid enough to not realise Kim was slipping from his fingertips, that the fighting they had been doing wasn't only a rut, but he’s still a good cop and a good cop notices things.
His mind hadn’t wanted to go there; it rebelled at the very notion. But his eyes kept betraying him, pointing out all the ways they seemed to be closer, all the ways Roman was intruding in Kim’s personal space, and all the ways Kim didn’t seem to mind.
He chose not to dwell on it, or rather he tried, hard, not to—and was mostly successful, except for the dead of night when his bed felt so, so empty without her warmth snuggled beside him and there was no case or alcohol to distract him and occupy his mind with thoughts of literally anything else.
But he knew. He knew.
So when Adam heard that Roman suddenly went on furlough, and that he wouldn’t be coming back, that he had transferred, again, to yet another district, he had been immediately curious. Of course, he wasn’t allowed to ask Kim about it himself, but he could linger around corners and the locker room, acting like he was absorbed in something else, all while he listened to others asking.
All Kim said to anyone—even Kev—was that Roman needed a change of scenery, and she always said it so clipped, so final, making it clear she wasn’t engaging in any gossip. It’s something that would usually leave Adam feel a swell of pride for his girl, being so polite and tactful, but she’s not his girl, and it only made him feel mildly frustrated as he wanted to know why Roman left.
Naturally, Platt was no help either.
With no answers, Adam had made his own. He had decided that whatever was the thing happening between them, whatever that difference was, it had ended, been disconnected. And that was satisfactory enough for Adam—and a little bit of an ego booster, if he was honest.
But then it happened.
Adam was minding his own business in the locker room—for real, this time—getting changed before he headed to Molly’s when he overheard Kim talking to one of the other officers. It’s his fault, really. His ears are still trained to immediately zone in and listen whenever he hears her beautiful voice, even months after she broke his heart.
From context, Adam quickly got that the officer asked if Kim was joining them in Molly’s. Usually, he’d be crushed at her not going, always liking to catch a glimpse of her there even as she steadfastly ignored him. But this time, that’s not what crushed him.
“I can’t,” Kim said. “I have to get home. I’ve got a date planned for cuddles on the couch; Roman is still adjusting to the move,”
Adam’s heart had stopped.
He’s a good cop, but even an idiot could guess what had recently transpired in Kim’s life hearing that. Roman—he was living with Kim.
And Kim was having dates with him.
That’s when Adam realised he had gotten it all wrong; Roman hadn’t transferred because things between them had fizzled—but because he was dating Kim, because he was living with Kim.
Adam didn’t go to Molly’s that night. He still drank, but it was very much drinking to be alone, in the darkness, not amongst his colleagues.
Any hope that Adam had about him misunderstanding what he overheard evaporated only a few nights after. He was in Molly’s, and at some point Kim had turned up to, and when he was grabbing a beer, his ears betrayed him again and he tuned into her saying that “she had to leave,” that “she had a date with her boyfriends, Roman, Ben and Jerry,”
Despite having learnt already that Kim was living with Roman—living with him, when they never even got to live in a place that was theirs together—Adam hadn’t been prepared to hear the first time Kim referred to another man as her boyfriend.
Adam had an early night, too, that night. But his was a lot more miserable than hers was.
Kim had moved on. There was officially no hope for them.
After this, all Adam ever seems to hear is Kim talking about Roman. In Molly’s, in the locker room, when he’s just walking through the district. All he ever hears is Kim making comments about Roman, about their relationship, about all the domestic elements of their life.
And it's killing him.
He’s handing Platt some paperwork about his expenses when he overhears Kim talking with other officers about grabbing lunch. Someone suggests sushi, and Kim immediately groans.
“Ugh, no, pass, please. All I’ve been cooking recently is fish for Roman, and I’m officially sick of the sight of any seafood. Especially with how Roman eats it, I think he’s put me off fish for a lifetime.”
And he’s in the locker room, in the morning, getting ready for work when he hears Kim come in, chatting away with another officer—her replacement for Roman, he thinks, not that he’s been able to ask. Not when she’s avoiding him like he’s got the plague and not when he doesn’t know if he could get through a conversation with her without his heart literally breaking in two.
“And oh my god, the bathroom! I swear I’m having to clean it so much which I know I signed up for but he makes such a mess in there. And he always seem to want to pee right as I’m showering—no matter the time. It’s not even just that, it’s so much hair. You wouldn’t think that Roman would shed that much hair,” Kim sounds so frustrated, and Adam hates how much that hurts him, even though she’s venting about her new boyfriend.
“Typical man,” the other officer says, and the two of them burst out laughing, hard, for a reason that Adam doesn’t quite get. And it’s just another reminder that Kim has jokes now that he’ll never know, that it’s Roman’s privilege now to have that view into Kim’s world.
All these little moments that Adam overhears, they all hurt him. Deep, in an aching kind of way that he never thought he’d feel, a way he never knew was possible, a way that he never experienced when his previous engagements ended.
But the one that hurt him the most was another conversation he overheard in Molly’s. Kim is already in the bar when Adam gets there and if he hadn’t walked in with the rest of the unit, he might’ve been tempted to walk right back out. But he had, so he stayed, instead telling himself that he’ll stay way clear of her—he needs to give his liver a rest, after all.
His one consolation is Kevin, who shoots him an understanding look, clocking Kim as well. Things had been distant between those two, as well; Kevin had felt a bit upset at hearing about Kim and Roman through the district grapevine, and from what Kev had told him, which granted isn’t much, Kim had all but dismissed these feelings when he asked her about it.
If Adam’s honest, it doesn’t sound like something Kim would do, but then he didn’t think dating Roman would be something Kim would do, so what does he know? And he knows Kevin well enough to know his hurt is real.
It probably would’ve been fine, had Adam not needed to go take a piss. He was actually enjoying himself with his unit, so much that for a moment he got wrapped up in the fun he temporarily forgot that Kim is also in the bar. And that in order to get to the toilets, he had to go past where Kim sat.
“Partners... The wrong one can be so detrimental to everything, both personally and professionally.” It is busy in Molly’s, and so Adam was moving carefully, winding through the crowd and is unable to speed up to put as much distance between them as soon as he hears Kim’s voice and he remembers.
“Like my ex partner, he was just so wrong for me. His attitudes, the way he spoke to and about me and how he acted about my role, like I was beneath him? His opinions and wants was the most important and that was that. A partner to be good needs to support you, and help you accomplish what you need to, not dismiss your own dreams, especially your professional ones. But my partner now? Completely perfect for me, and that makes all the difference.”
There are times Adam wishes there is an off switch to his ears, and this is the only time he would be truly glad if that was the case. He couldn’t help listening to Kim speak, despite the noisiness of the bar, despite the obvious signs at the start of the sentence that it could be potentially devastating for him.
He had thought the moment when Kim handed him back her ring would be the most devastating moment of his life.
How very stupid of him indeed.
Adam knew, obviously, that Kim was unhappy with their relationship. She wouldn’t have ended it otherwise. And he knew that he wasn’t always the best—missing the dinner with her mom was a fine example of how he could fuck up. But he hadn’t quite realised that she felt like that, that she thought he was like that.
And suddenly all Adam could do was doubt himself, thinking back on things and wondering is that really how he acted? Is he really such a fuck up that he made Kim feel like he didn’t value her, respect her? That he dismissed her dreams and didn’t support her?
Adam feels sick, and he knows that he’ll be leaving the bar, now, even though just five minutes ago he thought he’d be here at least half an hour longer. That he’ll say goodbye to the team and head home—just as soon as he convinces himself to go back out to the bar, to leave the toilets. It’s a challenge to get his feet moving, standing immobile, unable to bear the thought of walking past Kim again.
He manages to, mostly spurred on by another man entering the toilets and Adam became so aware at how weird he would seem if he just remained frozen on one spot there. He hoped that maybe he wouldn’t hear anymore as he passed by again, but isn’t that lucky.
Even more unluckily, it seems that Kim is once again getting ready to leave the bar and Adam realises that if he just stayed in the toilets for one more minute, he would’ve been free of his hell. But he chose to leave, then, and as a result he gets to hear Kim say another thing that devastates him to his core.
“I’ll see you around. Good luck with everything,” Kim is saying as he draws near. “Now, I’ve got to get back to the love of my life,”
It is really credit to himself, and his dignity—what’s left of it, anyway—that Adam doesn’t fall to the ground right then and there, Kim’s words faltering him in his steps.
It’s not even the words. Well, not only the words.
But it’s how she says it. There’s a hint of humour to her voice, but there’s a certainty. That it’s like she’s just saying any old fact, that it is just the truth, and she’s just stating something so big like it’s something casual—because, in her life, as far as she’s concerned, it is.
The words haunt Adam for the rest of the night, going round and round in his head. He remembers all the times she said those words to him; whispered to him in their dead of night talks, casually said it over breakfast, or at a dinner with Kev. Remembered the time she stared at her ring for the one of the first times, and told him that, told him that she was so happy—happy because the love of her life wanted her just as much she wanted him.
How could it be that only six months after they broke up, that she had moved on so fast? That she had discovered that Adam was just a footnote in her life, and not one who’d have her heart forever?
But, of course, Adam knew how. He heard how from Kim’s mouth that same night; heard how she saw their relationship, saw him, and even though it confuses Adam, because surely, surely he wasn’t that bad, that doesn’t really matter. That’s how she felt during their relationship, and that’s exactly why she left him, exactly why Adam’s not the love of her life anymore, and why Roman is.
Adam had already been trying to stay clear of Kim’s path, out of respect for her wishes as well as preservation for his own heart, but after that night in Molly’s, he really starts avoiding her. If anyone notices, they choose not to comment on it, something which Adam deeply appreciates.
He doesn’t even wonder if Kim notices, knowing that she’s moved on, that he’s probably the person she least wants to think about and knowing that if she does, she’s probably glad—happily living her life with Roman, and glad there’s no lingering ex-fiancé hanging around her.
His avoidance amps up two months later when they hear word of a cop being shot in another district—and that the cop is Roman. There’s nothing Adam wants even less then seeing a distraught looking Kim, knowing that it will be because of her new partner, her new boyfriend, knowing that she’d be hurting over a man who gets to love her in the way he so, so wishes he still was allowed to.
Adam thinks the sight of it might actually be what kills him.
This includes not going to Molly’s, not wanting to run into her, not wanting to have to say his sympathies—or having to be the kind of man who can’t get past his own feelings to even choke out the words—and rather, not wanting to go and not see her and knowing it’s because she’s at his bedside.
And nothing makes cops group together like the one, big family they are like an officer getting injured and Adam heard words of everyone going to Molly’s because of the shooting and he knew he isn’t strong enough for that.
So Adam doesn’t go to Molly’s, and when he has some days off a week or so after the shooting, Adam stays in his apartment the entire time, even if before he would’ve spent the time catching up with people he hadn’t seen in a while.
No, for now, all the friends Adam needs is alcohol and takeout.
He’s half way through the Chinese he had ordered when there’s a knock on his apartment door. It confuses him for a second, looking down at his food, food that had already arrived and so didn’t need delivering but he shrugs it off and goes to the door anyway.
Kim repeatedly got on his case about his surprising lack of awareness depending he’s a cop, that he never questions why his door knocks, and about how he never ‘practiced safety’ by opening the door without checking the peep hole and this comes to his mind, now. Just like it had ever since she left him, his ears missing her voice repeating the same words she always did despite him never listening, and he had gotten into the habit of checking.
(There’s a part of him that wonders, if he did that more when they were still together, maybe she’d still be his).
But Adam’s feeling particularly irritable today, at the whole situation, at the aching emptiness in his heart that still remains despite the fact it’s been months, despite the fact that they’ve been split for as long as their engagement was now, despite the fact that Kim hasn’t given him a second fucking thought, despite the fact that she’s with another man.
So why the hell should he still be listening to her voice in his head?
Adam opens the door, pushing that voice into a box in his head. Because of it, he thinks he must’ve opened the door a little too forcefully, as Kim looks startled as he does so.
Wait, he thinks. Kim?
For the first time in months, Kim is standing at his door. It’s what he’s been dreaming of ever since she walked out on him, and he had came back to his apartment and every bit of her was scrubbed from it. Even just a few weeks ago, had she turned up, for whatever reason, Adam would’ve been immediately softened at her appearance.
Not today. Today, Adam feels irritable.
“What do you want?” He snaps at her. He doesn’t mean for it to come out just so harsh standing but it’s been months of no contact and now she’s standing here for god knows what reason and all Adam wants to do is finish his dinner.
Kim looks a little taken back by his tone, which should’ve annoyed him more, especially considering it’s reasonable to assume he wouldn’t exactly be all sunshine and roses at her presence, especially since he’s in a mood, but it makes him feel guilty, bad that he’s caused that reaction in her.
This woman is going to be the death of him, he thinks.
Still, Kim isn’t deterred by his tone because of course she isn’t, because she’s Kim, and Kim is a strong and determined woman who never backs down from what she wants to do.
“I think there’s been a misunderstanding.” She says, and Adam almost wants to laugh. What possible misunderstanding could there have been—what, did she not actually break up with him, didn’t actually break his heart?
“Meet Roman,” At that, Kim holds up something and Adam realises this whole time there’s been something in her arms, and a pet cage at her feet that he didn’t see. (Yeah, he’s a great cop).
“My cat.” She finishes.
Oh.
Oh.

rant
i literally feel sick after that season what the fuck 😭 i am literally so disappointed, stranger things used to be so good. like. season 1 and 2??? immaculate. hell, even season 3 was better than this. it's not even about byler at this point; the plot was weak, the villian wasn't scary, theres so many holes, the character writing is shit, every new character they bring in is just a plot device, there's no stakes because the duffer brothers are cowards who can't kill main characters, last season was about eleven finding herself and realising that she doesn't need to rely on men for everything and this season... she literally gets the power to defeat vecna... from mike saying he loves her... Wow! you just completely destroyed her development! and what they did to mike is just... 😟😟 hand him over you've lost your privileges. this season just didn't feel like stranger things. say what you want about the past seasons but i think we can all agree that they felt like stranger things. ive seen people compare this season to a poorly written fan fiction but, to me, this season felt like a completely different show. and tbh stranger things honestly should have ended after s2. you can really tell that the duffer brothers didn't expect the show to have more than one season because s1 is plot driven, everyone is focused on one thing, there's no random side plots that are irrelevant to the story and just confuse people, the characters are well written and act accordingly to their personality, while the rest of the seasons (excluding s2) seem character driven, plot doesn't make much sense, each villian feels like it's just a copy of the last but stronger, and sue me for this but the scariest season was the first because the characters didn't know anything about the upside down and they didn't know how to stop it. it was completely foreign, and we didn't know what was going to happen to will. after that it just seemed kinda meh because now we recognize the pattern (new character gets introduced, some kind of evil is attacking Hawkins, they spit off into groups, kids help eleven, teens fight it, adults find out more about it, then they come together to defeat it, new character sacrifices self, repeat) it's getting old, and quite frankly, it's boring. i would like to have hope for this show since ive seen how good it can be, and i don't want to crush anyone's hope but i think it's down hill from here. the duffer brothers have obviously run out of ideas and unless we get something spectacular next season, seems like s3 was the last good season (i know a lot of people dislike season 3 but its actually not bad plot wise?? like yeah the characters were butchered but it was still interesting. sorry i know that's controversial lmfao)

In regards to your ask about Mike saying ily - But we already know from that one Finn interview that he definitely says “I love you” to someone. So who else could it be besides El?
honestly when it comes to shows like stranger things, while interviews and all are interesting to watch, i take them with a grain of salt- yeah all of them. because stranger things as a show is very good at making you think it's painting a flower when actually it's painting a knife. sleight of hand is their bread and butter.
and there could be a number of people mike could say ily to. his sister who just got vecna'd for example. they never really talk much unless the world is ending and maybe mike realises that fact, realises just how close he got to losing his sister.
he could be saying it to el, only to tell that that it's different from how she loves him. a classic "it's not you it's me." and this is unrelated to whether he has feelings for will or not, because i feel mike and el need to break romantically. it helps neither of them. their dynamic would florish if they were friends rather than restricted by the trappings of romance.
now could he say ily to will? personally, I've watched too many fantastically queer shows to scramble for crumbs, but will has always been gay. it's not a question. S3 cemented the fact. so im sure that more than their blessed little heart to hearts they're gonna be having a bigger conversation- because mike never really did address why he acted the way he acted in california, why he felt as if he had lost will, when will was a phone call or letter away.
it could go any number of ways. the show being what it is, they'd never say something if they thought people would draw the obvious conclusion and that conclusion would be right. because most of the casual viewers are unfortunately people who are not looking for queer subtext and to them, they won't think beyond 'oh how sweet he finally confesses his undying love for el'.
but even they have realised that will is in love with mike or at least, has a crush. a rewatch would show you that mike has always treated will different. make will's character a girl and you'll get a classic bollywood movie where the girl is best friends with the guy and in love with him but refuses to tell him, only suffering when a new girl comes in a he falls for her. and everyone always roots for the best friend.
so you'll see, how just one change in gender changes the whole way non-queer people view a story. of course i don't need to elaborate on the whys and hows of that change in perspective.
mike's case feels like a classic 'came to realisations too fast and now he doesn't know how to handle them so he seeks the safety of familiarity rather than the risks of the unknown'. but I'm sure he'll realise just how much he was hurting himself and will by doing that. after all, why is it weird to tell you friend you love them if you're only friends? and why is it hard to tell your girlfriend you love her if you do and you know that not saying it was driving her and you apart? I'm sure mike didn't even need that fight to realise what el was asking from him right?
tldr; while mike maybe saying ily to el, I'd take that with a grain of salt. after all, mike is not a one dimensional character who only has the capacity to love el. the way el has been built through the love of more people than just mike.

my fave rina moment from each episode in s3 (excluding ep 1)
3x02: gina watching ricky audition. it was so sweet and she looked so proud of him
3x03: ‘i’m proud of you!’ ricky really showed up and told gina what she wanted to hear because he just knows her so well 🥹
3x04: i love every moment of theirs in this ep including ricky & jet’s convo, but it’s the ‘she’s amazing!’ part. i love this because it totally caught me off guard when first watching. it was the first real, canon display of ricky crushing on gina i was floored
3x05: the ending of wdykal. they stepped SO close to each other that their chests nearly touched, then both stepped back, then smiled, then ricky just completely lost his breath while gina kept smiling at him
3x06: ricky crying and saying he let gina slip away. i love seeing a man suffer over a pretty girl
3x07: oh god all 4 key moments in this episode are perfect but it has to be the wcat stare across the dance floor. because i think that was gina’s ‘oh’ moment. she realised who’s been showing up and staying around for her
3x08: excluding the kiss because it’s obviously the best, it’s kristoff’s lullaby. that’s when everyone realised that ricky doesn’t just care about gina, he loves her. she changed his entire perception of love. it was just magical
if anyone feels like sharing their own opinions on this question go for it i’d love to hear them

Why do you think the writers pushed Stancy this much if they are not intending to make them a couple again? It seems a pointless writing choice, could be bad writing but I really do not get why they chose this road. It was very reductive for each character involved. It was bad for Nancy because she almost did emotionally cheat again... now are we just recycling the drama? The writers could have made Steve and Nancy as just friends but they did not have to introduce Steve's crush on Nancy again, it was reductive for Steve's character and they de-arced him. It was annoying especially with the matchmaker trope. They literally made 3 characters push for Stancy's relationship, Dustin, Robin and Eddie. What did that matchmaking discussions even achieve? These characters have nothing going on for their dynamic most of the time expect for pushing Stancy. We know that it is not going to happen anyway, so we are just gonna watch Steve moving on from Nancy for the third time already so the whole thing is just reductive and unnecessary at best, and that screen time could have been given to other things.
okay. let’s assume the writers aren’t pushing endgame stancy. why would they revive a long abandoned romance plot?
just to say, “don’t worry guys, we’re definitely not doing stancy.”? (just really stupid)
to have nancy and steve gain closure from their relationship? (if so, they could’ve just given them a platonic relationship)
to reiterate nancy choosing jonathan (if so, they could’ve just written nancy as having feelings towards steve, there would be no reason to make them reciprocal)(but also just useless anyway, there was no need to reiterate it)
so when they kill off steve it’s more emotional? (this is the stupidest reason to me, it already would’ve been sad enough with dustin and robin, we don’t need nancy to be sad steve won’t get a future)
because nancy will end the show single, dumping jonathan and ending any possibility with steve? (no need for steve to be involved, nancy could’ve just dumped jonathan)
to fulfil steve’s character arc in realising he doesn’t need romance to be happy (pretty much already resolved in s3, no need to include nancy, and no need to have nancy feel things for steve)
so they could drag out the barb trauma again? (could’ve still worked with platonic stancy, no need to make it romantic)
i cannot think of a single reason to have spent the entire season focusing on stancy if they aren’t going to get back together. and honestly, if the show ends on jancy after spending s4 with nancy and steve making eyes at each other; i have to assume they’re just bad writers.
especially considering how much was sacrificed purely to show nancy and steve were still attracted to each other (other character dynamics, a well written character arc for eddie, a more solid ending for lucas and the jocks, and wtf happened to the mob?? or like you said, the three matchmakers, those convos could’ve been actual bonding scenes) …it just doesn’t make sense if they aren’t trying to end the show on stancy.
the thing with steve is, i could understand writing him as having feelings for nancy again. he’s in a tense situation, and thinks he may be about to die, and three people have told him to go for it (steve is a character that is easily led by others opinions). steve is desperate for love and attention, though none of his romantic relationships have worked since nancy. it does make sense that if he blames himself for the ending of the relationship, that he may think that now he’s changed, there’s a chance they could work out. however, and this is gonna sound harsh, i just don’t think the duffers are good enough at writing steve to have thought of this. steve exists within stranger things as a comedic relief character. who’s most poignant moments are almost always not on purpose (steve and dustin, steve and robin) or entirely forgotten by the next episode. the second issue is that if this plot line is solely steve backsliding into nancy, then why was nancy flirting back? if the writers are so invested in jancy, why have nancy emotionally connect to steve?
i honestly can’t figure it out. knowing the writers, it may just end up going nowhere, steve is a character that isn’t really consistently written (he was tortured by russians in s3 and yet seemingly everyone’s forgotten that), so it may be that we start s5 and everyone’s already forgotten about the confession. or maybe the duffers will pull it out of the bag and have an incredible character arc for all of them that none of us could’ve seen coming. but i’m not holding out hope.
so… yeah. this is probably an unsatisfying answer, but i honestly cannot think of a single logical reason to drag nancy and steve back into a relationship, if it isn’t going to go anywhere.
and if it was purely so we have to watch steve get emotionally crushed once again, i may actually go insane.

ok a definitive rating of all dance academy couples i'm 100% right on this don't even try me
tara x christian - always have been and always will be the no 1 christara slut on this planet like i'm sorry but for me they are truly a romeo and juliet, rose and jack, once in a lifetime relationship, they will always belong together and always find their way back to each other, even if they fuck up and hurt each other sometimes
abigail x ethan - i never truly appreciated their relationship until i got a little older but they are so good for each other, just completely on the same level regarding their wants and needs and i'm so mad that they weren't endgame
sammy x abigail - especially in s1 they just hit different like they are so cute together and i'm obsessed with their dynamic and i truly think if sammy hadn't died they could have become a really great couple in s2 as well because they had both matured so much
tara x ben - although imo benstara wouldn't really have worked out in the long run, they're still really good for each other and i like that tara gets to live out her sillier, more carefree side with him. ultimately though, i don't think that 100% fits her so they're definitely better off as friends
sammy x ollie - i absolutely adore ollie in s3 but i think in s2 he definitely still had a lot of work to do on himself. again, if sammy hadn't died their relationship would have been good to revisit in s3 after he's grown a bit and i think they could have become really awesome together
kat x christian - they were cute while it lasted (and i do think they make a very attractive couple, not that that's important), but you could tell christian's heart was never truly in it and kat just deserved better than that
abigail x wes - i mean i guess they're fine but tbh i just don't like abi ending s3 with someone who's not a part of the main squad, it just doesn't feel right. i love that they have some history in barcelona though, and the scene where he was dancing shirtless under the bridge and abi breaks down does get me
grace x ben - i think if grace has to be with anybody in the group, ben is the best fit and i do like their dynamic in s3, but tbh i think grace has a lot more work to do on herself before she can actually enter a serious relationship. on another note, my aroace grace (arograce?) headcanon just doesn't allow for this
ollie x rhys - terrible. rhys is a fine enough character (even though he's such a non-character like i couldn't name a single thing about him) but imo it was just so obvious that they were scrambling to have everyone end up with someone by the finale and also they didn't want to make anyone of the main cast gay so they did this. their chemistry was fine i guess but it just felt so rushed and underdeveloped
tara x ethan - i think tara x ethan were never meant to last more than a couple episodes, this was more for narrative purposes, so all of what i'm saying is very much canon but they just never fit together. when they were together they were at completely different points in their lives and they could never have given each other what they needed and deserved
kat x ben - also out of nowhere, i don't think their storyline should have gone any further than ben having a crush on kat in s2 and her rejecting him. this is one decision they made in the movie that is truly baffling to me, like what 👏🏻 was 👏🏻 the 👏🏻 reason 👏🏻 ? imo ben should have realised during the pas de deux with ollie that he is actually bisexual and then gotten together with ollie (still mad we didn't get to see a single second of them dancing together), and kat is the biggest lesbian anyways which is why all of her relationships on the show were so shit
kat x jamie - suffering from the ollie x rhys problem, jamie is just very transparently a character they brought on so kat could end the show in a relationship. i actually love that he's so goofy and i love his and kat's dynamic as weirdo besties but he doesn't fit with her romantically at ALL
kat x myles - stupidly terrible, i mean not only was myles like in his mid-twenties at the youngest and kat was like 16??? hellO how did no one think that was weird?? their relationship was also so fanfic-y and myles was just really not likeable to me. i kinda love that the show broke with that in order to not have him in s2 and were like 'actuallyy he's still annoying and everything he said about himself and his goals in s1 is not true, he's actually just a whiny bitch' gotta respect that
kat x the dude from the movie, i can't be bothered to look up his name - that tells you all you need to know
kat x lukas - do i even need to say anything, like this was obviously only a thing to show that kat was not doing well and holy shit it worked, babygirl i KNOW you're a repressed lesbian and can't choose good comphet relationships for shit but really?? that piece of toenail? jesus

More tua s3 thought splurging, Viktor and Five themed
I wanted a lot more Viktor and Five teamup ngl I didn't realise I had high hopes before they were crushed 😭 I loved that Five trusted Viktor at the end and they kinda worked together with their little checkmate and all but I wish we'd had more bc they're both v intelligent planners and they would make such a badass team besides the fact that I am forcibly making them besties in my head (bc based on s1 and even s2 to an extent you can't tell me that Five and Viktor weren't a dynamic duo as kids, even if only on the dl, so can we get some of that back? We were cruelly teased with a Viktor and Five teamup at the end then Five just walks away ughhh)
And yes Viktor probably should have like not made some of the decisions he made in terms of having his own little plans and just sorta doing them but also that's a Hargreeves family special I'm just happy to see him take the initiative. And it's not necessarily worse than what e.g Diego was attempting in s2.
Which brings me to: the rest of the siblings need to trust Viktor more! He would be able to contribute a lot more if they didn't see him through a lens of 'blew up the moon' or 'sweet naive brother who is easily led' all the time. Like I loved the fact that they were all protective of Viktor when they thought Harlan was manipulating or abusing him but also guys! Listen to the man! Nowadays he's usually about to make a relatively good decision (usually) and has a relatively sharp eye for detail etc and is v intelligent and overall as on it as the rest of them and it would help everyone to recognise that.
Also Five's like 'don't become a villain' WE'VE DONE THAT ARC FIVE. The moon, remember. But appreciate your concern and ngl threatening to kill him doesn't even cramp my besties hcs that much bc tbh I feel like Five would kill any of the siblings and just feel really bad about it inside afterwards. Plus he bet on Viktor winning an argument against Allison and intervened (alongside Diego bc ik Diego and Viktor's comics counterparts were friends as kids and they're my second fave sibling relationship involving Viktor on the show, tied with Viktor and Allison) when he'd deemed Allison to have gone too far so we all know he still has a soft spot for Viktor and it's just generally obvious Viktor has a soft spot for him, though maybe Allison is taking the lead in his good books bc she trusts him.
Which brings me to my other point, that Allison and Viktor and Five are the most at each other's throats bc lowkey they're the most similar in a lot of ways BUT I will not elaborate on that here bc this is long.
Would have loved to see Viktor hang out one on one with Diego bc their little moment with putting their heads together in s2 is so sweet but the 'good, you are' made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and the aforementioned standing up so.
Five making friends with Sloane and moreover hanging out with Klaus! Five and Lila enemies to frenemies! Five being like know what I'm going through it I'm having a break!
Now Five and Viktor better have like a full buddy cop thing or roommates situation or something going on in s4 if there is one bc there's so much to unpack with them as brothers, as extremely powerful individuals with extremely powerful regrets, and as individuals who in different ways have never quite related to and found their niche in the world the same way others had (ik Viktor found his place with Sissy but that was also a precarious place and he didn't really find himself until this season and then he hardly has time to settle into a new life and before that he was living in a drugged up fog, and Five has never had real stability so they work out a home and launching pad and their petty passions and moral and philosophical grappling together okay!! At least until the next big event comes along.

The Joy of Life Challenge S3 - #2
This episode starts off with a mini family gathering on Winterfest Eve. A lot of Aspen's family came over randomly.
Davina had a moment, and ended up yelling at Aspen, to which his lil sister, the strong queen she is, yelled right back at Davina for treating her brother that way!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's where I learned that loyal sims will defend your sim through & through! DAMN!
Anyway, that night, Odelia had a lovely read of her Vampire Encyclopedia... while a gloomy shadow observes from right behind her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, he has the courage to speak to Odelia- face to face...
Before we continue with that... Let's introduce this little creeper:
Count Viktor Straud, the son of Count Vladislaus Straud! He can be quite a nasty piece of work, but deep down it's just a front to please his father.
He is taught by his father how to be the best and most powerful vampire, but what his father doesn't know is that often times, he sneaks off to the 'human world' to find out what it's like...
He ended up fixating on Odelia. I mean, it wasn't hard... her family is almost always in the paper, along with herself. He found it strange how humans care so much about certain people, when vampires thrive on secracy and privacy.
He wants to exchange information with her, since he knows he can offer what she wants to know all about: vampirism.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He immediately tries to calm a very freaked-out Odelia...
Tumblr media
They introduced themselves to one-another, Odelia immediately having a first impression that he's rude, and Viktor having the impression that she's emotionally expressive.
Viktor likes that. He likes that she's not afraid to feel, unlike what vampires are taught: that emotions make you weak.
Tumblr media
He explains that he'd been carefully watching her moves, intrigued with what the life of a celebrity is like... and how surprised he was when he discovered that she was intrigued by his life, too!
At first, Odelia was NOT pleased that she had a creepy stalker.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"What if I was naked?!" She exclaimed.
"I'm not THAT kind of creep." Viktor rolled his eyes.
Tumblr media
But eventually, Odelia couldn't help but scream about how much she is infatuated by vampires, and would love to talk more about them with Viktor, preferably face to face rather than being creepily watched.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To NO one's surprise, Odelia found herself crushing on Viktor as soon as the situation sunk in. She finds him Very Attractive, and he finds her the same. (I just love how the game knows my idea and goes along with it :D!!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As they talked more, there were some rough comments made, mean jabs at each others' stereotyped ways of living, and arguments... but Viktor realised, no matter how 'mean' he is, just how much he hated arguing with Odelia. He gave in, and stopped being as much of a grump!
Tumblr media
Odelia shared top secret info about humans, and showed pictures for proof,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Viktor teased and teased her...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But also... learned from somewhere that human girls tend to like roses??
Tumblr media
They had a very wild first meeting, but eventually agreed to teach each other all they could, and meet as much as possible.

a ROUGH timeline of bloom’s obsession with being in a relationship which I do have a further meta on. This will be filled out properly later but this is just me jotting things down and making sense of the timeline between the show, the comics and things we learn later. I altered the reasoning for adrian and called the professor avalon thing what it is. TW grooming mention
Andy - dated through high school proposed to her (this is only a joke if we’re going with the backdated ages because whether the series starts at 16 vs 18 is debated I believe it’s 18 which makes the proposal serious), she accepted in the moment proceeded to them turn him down, held onto the relationship for a few weeks before she met stella and dumped him before the start of the new school year and then disappeared on him.
---S1---
“Brandon” aka Sky - had an immediate crush on him, fell for him quickly and flirted quite a bit began to date soon after though they never DTR bloom was under the impression that, that wasn’t a necessary thing. discovers his name is actually sky not brandon, he’s a prince and engaged. dumps him and hides away on earth for a week in her childhood room.
Sky - dates sky again dumps him over his jealousy mid second year
---S2---
Professor Avalon - groomed for months in situations specifically set up to have him rescue her and make her fall for him. hours alone training her just enough attention to flirt and make promises before betraying her
Sky - immediatly after proceeds to break up again after a week when bloom realises she needs time. mutual this time
Adrian - bloom fails at taking time and briefly dates waiter from her favourite café in town only to find out he’s a guard undercover protecting prince who’d been suspicious of her for being so close to him but they did end up falling for each other. things still end.
---S3---
Sky - decide after the adrian incident to be together again sky eventually breaks up with her due to enchantment. They proceed to get back together once it’s broken. ---S4 comics canon---
Sky - on again and off again while she’s on earth watching after roxy, he dumps her again when he realises he’s going to war? idk man Jordan - post earth a whirlwind romance all of her friends dislike who bloom keeps running back to eventually they break up when he decides to run off and live in the jungle after she tracks him down he admits to seeing someone new now here the two break up bloom mainly feels like she’s come off a rollercoaster with a headache rather than heartbreak. he’s addicted to adrenaline and she’s addicted to romance

Timeline moments (Flo ver!)
(OC interactions have a / surrounding each sides /example text/ )
IMPORTANT!
Flo was a experimental creation by LBD in an attempt to create 'a loyal servant' before LBD was trapped in that box thing. But something screwed up and Flo ended up getting freedom and a big case of amnesia (doesnt remember LBD).
Flo no longer lived anywhere but china.
Instead of being just an axolotl demon, Flo is an axolotl dragon hybrid demon.
Flo still has water magic and is a mess with it, he also still lost an arm but it was probably due to being a fool. The arm is replaced with a water one.
Due to still being LBDs creation, she can control them, not too much but still control. (But yes when possessed!SWK in S3 happens Flo gets more control over themself, but we'll get there when we get there)
Flo's chill with any pronouns
S1
This is when Flo first meets everyone.
In the intro episode:
Flo meets everyone while theyre trying to train with their magic and accidentally does a water warp straight into Mk while Mk was training with SWK /also Kito being there/.
Flo introduces himself and Mk is like
"WOAHHHH WATER POWERS?! THATS SO COOL!"
And offers to introduce Flo to all his other friends :D
Main character arc during the season:
Becoming everyones friend ig? And just, learning that others wont hate you for being a screw up with ya magic?
A character focused S1 episode but with Flo (that isnt the intro episode) would probably be about:
Flo working with Mk, Mei, /and Kito/ to finally master his water warp ability!
S2
Flo gets a small little crush on uh
Shhhh dont tell anyone
Its Mk
Shhh
Main character arc during the season:
While she doesnt know that the feelings shes feeling towards Mk is love, they slowly figure it out tho (doesn't confess tho)
A S2 character focused episode for Flo would be about:
Mei helping Flo to feel less insecure about their missing arm and focus on having fun
S3 (oh boy the big one)
OKI SO remember when I said LBD has some control over Flo? Haha yeah, LBD basically kidnaps Flo in ep 1 of the season so that she could force Flo to 'help' Macaque hunt down Mk and the gang.
There are some times when during some kind of confrontation with the gang, Flo manages to push back LBD for a bit and yells at the gang to run away because he really doesnt wanna hurt them.
Also, when LBD has total control of Flo, hes not a fool with his magic and instead is a master of his magic.
Main character arc during the season: UH WELL he sorta mind controlled for the season so uh Ig, getting his freedom back?
Finale:
O boi
Oki so, with possessed!Wukong going on and taking more power, LBD has less control over Flo, but just barely enough to keep them doing what she wants.
Mk /and Kito/ use this to their benefit and go and attempt to get Flo back.
Flo immediately jumps to fight upon seeing the two, Kito is the main one that fights back while Mk tries to figure out how to kick out LBD for good.
After realising what might work, Mk yells for /Kito/ to retreat, Mk runs towards Flo with no fear and hugs him.
Flo doesnt respond, instead freezing up. And then uh, this bits a little cheesy but its cute, Mk (who also had a crush on Flo) gently kisses Flo on the cheek and reassures him that no matter what he loves him.
And that certainly breaks Flo free from LBDs control.
Character relations:
Mk - love, romance, little crush, *kissy sounds*, yes they are dating now shut up
Mei - Like siblings
Tang - alright
Pigsy - also just alright, doesnt like his noodles tho (not bc the noodles are bad no no, Flo just doesnt like food in general)
Sandy - pretty cool
Redson - I feel like Red is just a little bit afraid of Flo bc water beats fire
Swk - never really believes that Wukong knows what hes doing
Macaque - chill with eachother, neither of them wanted to serve LBD afterall
LBD - Hate hate HATE
/Kito - Friendsssss amazing friends :D /
/Yina - Also friends :] /

Spoiler ST4 Volume 2
Big rambling
I fucking hate them for doing that to Eddie. I though I would be sad but I’m just mad and fucking dissapointed.
He didn’t deserve it, his death served NOTHING at all. He could still be alive and things would have been the fucking same.
They were just lazy and decided to do the same fucking thing again.
New character ? Let’s kill it.
“Hey there’s gonna be 5 main character death” Oh yeah ? where ? Max ? You couldn’t even stick to let her fully die so u made Eleven be capable of reviving people. That’s so convenient.
It doesn’t count as a fucking death if you make her go into a FUCKING COMA.
I’m tired of this.
So who died ? Max ? No she doesn’t count. Vecna ? Oh not really he’s still around apparently. Chrissy’s mad boyfriend ? Ok. This sure was quick. The “papa”. And Eddie.
3. What a massive shitshow.
HOW COME THE RUSSIAN DUDES AINT EVEN DEAD ????
Eddie was such a good character, it would have been so easy to clear him out with Hopper and the higher up. Or just not do it and have him struggle not for long because of the upcoming “end of the world” for s5.AND WHY IS THERE ONLY DUSTIN TO CARE ABOUT HIS DEATH ??? AND THE UNCLE ??? THATS IT NO ONE ELSE TALKS ABOUT IT AFTER THAT BESIDE THEM WTF
Also. How comes he dies from demobats when Steve didn’t ? Oh right. He’s a new character. And Steve is a main one.
Making him queer coded and not even using it... It would have been so good for Steve to make him bi, and realise it with Eddie. Like he was looking for a girlfriend since S3, then they make him have Robin as a best friend who could have helped him out with figuring out more about himself. Yes I’m a big Steddie shipper but even if I wasn’t I would have been SO HAPPY to see them do that. Like how the fuck do you want me to Steve and Eddie interaction as that ? There was no fucking heterosexual explanation to that. They could have make it slow and just like Steve realise he’s Bi and doesn’t mind Eddie’s flirting, even liking it a bit. And at the end of S5 they could have just have a little scene of  Eddie or Steve asking the other on a date. It wasn’t SO HARD TO DO.
Noooo instead they prefered to make a forced af Steve/Nancy. What the fuck was that speach about the kids and then TELLING HER IT WAS ABOUT HER ALWAYS HER ??? DO THEY EVEN REMEMBER STEVE SAYING HE DIDNT LOVE NANCY IN S3 WHEN HE WAS ON A TRUTH SERUM ????? AND SHE LOOKED LIKE SHE LIKED IT WHEN HE SAID THAT FUCKING DREAM. It was awful. How to make me stop shipping them. Wtf is that writing.
Also I don’t even like Jonathan/Nancy but that’s fucking dirty to him. Why would you make them a couple after S2 if it’s for her to go back with Steve ??? It’s so dumb.
Now, that Will/Mike thing, again. That’s so dirty. “Let’s use Eleven and her relationship with Mike to make Will suffer and reveal he’s gay. Yeah that’s such a good idea” No. Not it’s not. God bless Jonathan for being here for him cause apparently EVERYONE ELSE DOESNT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT HIM.
Robin and her crush Vickie? I can’t even remember her name. Couldn’t they like make them interact more for us to care about them ? Robin had more chemestry with Nancy than her crush.
So what. Everything the Duffer bro do is by mistake ? URG
I’m done rambling for now. I hated those last 2 eps. It was predictable. And they were once again cowards to not kill their main chara.
Why do I even keep on expecting cis straight white dudes to make something good. I’m a fucking clown.

I'd love for you just to rant about how much MC's and Mammon's relationship has changed.
So I took a long time to answer this and that's because I wanted to reread the 3 seasons before I replied BUT I didn't have time so I'm just gonna go off what I can remember
This is all written under the assumption that you (the reader) are playing "Mammon's route"
1. Overall Summary During Each Season
A.) SEASON 1 - Enemies to Friends to Partners in Crime/Best Friends
During season 1, they don't necessarily like each other in the beginning and seem to actually be antagonistic towards each other. The TSL binge & the quiz do a lot in progressing their relationship to something like actual friends and to the very beginnings of Mammon's crush. There's actually time during this period, that we don't get to see, that makes them even closer - the fact that MC, on many occasions, clearly went out of their way to talk with Mammon (according to Beel) & the fact that they were obviously sleeping in the same room regularly because Mammon had started leaving his phone charger & toothbrush in their room.
By the end of S1 they're close friends and clearly like each other but he's still pretty insecure about where their (romantic) relationship stands. By the end of S1 all his brothers clearly like them too & as he's been told by them, in his mind, he's probably the one they're least likely to choose. And so he clings to the one thing he can, the one thing that reassures him that they have a significant, important relationship, the one time he was ever first in anything - their pact.
Later on, near the end, they kiss but there's no resolution to it, no clarification about what it means or what they are to each other.
B.) SEASON 2 - Settling In
S2 is about Mammon being more open than he was in S1, whether he does it out of his own free will (admitting that the reason he looks significantly more attractive in magazines is because he's thinking about them) or whether it's forced out of him (admitting to how much he actually loves them while wearing the truth bracelet)
Their relationship progresses a lot in this season, and it's also the one where they sleep together
The development in this season makes him more secure in their relationship, it brings about a stability. Which allows him to realise he doesn't need to use their pact as an anchor. That even without it, even with his brothers vying for their attention, he's carved himself an irreplaceable place in their life. He tells them that losing the pact won't stop him from being their first man and for the first time he initiates physical affection by hugging them and MC feels the bond between them grow stronger
C.) SEASON 3 - Stable & Secure
Mammon's realisation about the significance of their pact has definitely affected their relationship in S3
During their first meeting in S3 and during their last meeting in S3 (not the last goodbye conversation) they easily fall back into each other and seem to be able to communicate how much they've missed each other before they actually say the words
Mammon also has notably not pulled out the "First Man" thing like he usually does. There's also a lot more comfortable teasing between the two and he's much less possessive and actually willing to do his own thing while they spend time with his brothers
They're comfortable with each other and Mammon, despite still blushing, is much more forward (the thing that makes him blush now is the thought of marriage rather than just being with MC).
D.) SEASON 4 - Shaking it Up
Mammon's back to mentioning the First Man thing and being almost as possessive as he was in S1. This could be because of the arrival of the new characters. He knows they're coming and he knows MC will have to interact with them and that, given how it's been in all previous instances, there's a large possibility they'll all gonna fall in love with MC. After making peace with his brothers' and the side LIs love for MC and securing his place in their life, these new characters are threatening to shake things up again. So he's once again clutching on to the one thing he knows for sure he'd never lose - his position as MC's "First Man"

Mammon getting between MC & a pissed off Demon form Lucifer and talking back to Lucifer and telling him that they (the brothers) wouldn't let him hurt MC (near the end of S1) (made more significant after the S3 reveal that one of Mammon's worst fears is Demon form Lucifer)

• Mammon after making a pact with them, saying that they shouldn't mistake this as them being in control of him and if anything he was the one in charge (beginning of S1) VS. Mammon saying "I'm yours" before deciding it didn't matter as long as they were together (mid S2)
• Mammon trying to ask them to dance with him and disguising it as him taking pity on them cause no one else would want to dance with them and then losing his chance (mid S1) VS. Mammon hinting at wanting to go to the dance with them but leaving the decision up to them (mid S2)
