i will always be a firm believer that this was Mike's oh no i like him moment
Tumblr media
and that's why he immediately went after El because he likes her too right? she's cute and really pretty, she's cool she has powers and saved their lifes so many times already! and he really cares for her and missed her this year and it's like Nancy and Lucas said he must have a crush on her! that must be it. so maybe if he focuses on her these feelings for Will (whatever those feelings might be) will go away and he can be normal right?
Tumblr media
and this was his oh fuck i'm in love with him and it won't just go away but it's too late now moment

KEITH USED TO WORK AT THE ARCADE?? Also the arcade is right next to family video so Keith just moved next door in season 3 lmao
Steve omg you’re so cute stop
FINALLY MAX IS HERE
Okay Billie is bad, yes? We all agree Billie is bad, right? But Dacre IS SO HOT I CANNOT HE TOOK A “PORCA TROIA” OUT OF ME LIKE IT WAS NOTHING
Honestly they’re so dope for dressing up as ghostbusters and going to school with matching outfits
Ugh Nancy and Steve are so terrible for each other
Steve’s face during the bullshit scene really broke my heart 🥺
People being annoyed at Joyce for being super protective of Will like what?? That boy was proclaimed dead, they had a funeral and he turned out to be in another dimension??? I dare you to not be at least a little paranoid
I’m getting the gayest vibes ever from this basketball + shower scene I’m not even joking, Harrington 100% felt what it is like to be a girl objectified in a nightclub
Billy calling Steve pretty boy is so fucked up like are you Eddie Munson? No so imma need you to back off ✋
Jfc no wonder Vecna chose max she’s a walking gold mine for therapists
One drive with Billy would be enough for me to become a target for Vecna I swear
A part of me will always blame Dustin for the cat’s death 🥲
Stranger things is so good I cannot fucking believe my eyes sometimes
First Nancy, now Hopper… can they like, stop going inside creepy ass portals all by themselves? FFS
OH MY GOD ERICA WAS SO SMALL HOW CUTE SINDFKJDF
Lucas telling Max “if I tell you the truth, you could be arrested or killed. Do you accept the risk?” Hits different now
FINALLY THE DUSTIN/STEVE DUO IS BORN
I was today years old when I realized Nancy broke up with Steve in S1 for a month but then she got back with him because she got tired of waiting for Jonathan
Dustin’s proud smile when Steve told him “good call dude” I CANT IM WEEK IM CRYING ON THE FLOOR
I will never get over Dustin’s pure adoration for Steve in this season
JUSTICE FOR BOB
BOB NEWBY THE SUPERHERO 😭😭😭
Everyone: it’s like the mind flyer! Steve&Max: don’t speak nerd in my presence pls
I’m sorry but Mike holding that small trophy as a weapon LOL
I CANNOT BELIEVE THE KIDS WERE AT THE WINDOW WHEN BILLY CAME ARE STUPID
I cannot believe they wanted to leave a beaten-up and concussed Steve behind, are you crazy???
I totally forgot that Steve, in a span of a couple of hours, pushed his girlfriend to be with another guy, got beaten up defending kids he barely knows and then went down - all beaten up and concussed - the upside down tunnels just for said kids?? ARE U EVEN REAL MAN?
Will turning to Mike when that girl asked him to dance 🥺
Nancy is so fucking right, those girls are so stupid turning Dustin down like fuck you who do you think you are????
Jopper at the end, I love my parents so much
Here my thoughts on S1!

okay, so -
if they've been supernatural banging for a bajillion years, what's your take on az's reaction to the kiss? you probably have something about it in here somewhere but *shrugging intensely*
Hi there! Please have some hot chocolate and cookies. You have kiss-related questions for me, Anon? :) I have questions for you: What was your reaction to Aziraphale air-kissing Crowley after the apology dance earlier in the season? How do you square that with how you perceive the end of S2? Or did you miss the sleight of hand on the sleight of hand show, like many did, as was the show's intent? I'd just say that a show with a theme of showing you things and recontextualizing them with scenes they show you later and that also has a recurring motif of sleight of hand magic might be things to keep in mind.
We all see things differently and I'm not asking you to agree with me. This is a common question in these parts so I've written about it before. Since you requested additional info, here ya go. Let me know if you have any questions & have a great day. :)
My prior answer to someone asking basically the same question as you:
On Aziraphale miming a kiss at Crowley after The Apology Dance:
A bunch of things Good Omens has already shown backwards and recontextualized with regards to this romance:
Theory on how Crowley's Vavoom is their first kiss and when the show might be suggesting it happened:
Some additional ideas on how The Flood & the Job minisode might suggest a tying of The Vavoom to the first use of "angel" here:

I've seen a lot of Aziraphale hate after the S2 finale -- furious that he chose Heaven over Crowley -- which is TERRIBLY ANNOYING because a lot of people seem to miss the events that led up to the tragic finalé.
Because, let's get one thing straight: Aziraphale was only excited to go to Heaven upon knowing he could be with Crowley there.
Aziraphale literally outright rejects the Megatron's request almost immediately. He didn't want to go to heaven. He loved Earth. He has come to enjoy the delights that our world offers. "Where will I get my coffee?" perfectly exemplified that Aziraphale has grown attached to our world and the life, the home he and Crowley had built for themselves. It is only when the Metatron brought up the idea that Crowley and him could be angels together that Aziraphale accepts the offer.
And let's not forget that, the scene before that, Aziraphale was THREATENED to be erased from the Book of Life by Michael. Metatron came in like a saving grace and presented him with an opportunity to escape that threat, to possibly change things, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, have Crowley with him safely as well.
Did people not see how DESPERATE Aziraphale was to make Crowley come with him? He literally breaks down as he says "I need you." Because HE DOES NEED CROWLEY. He literally reconsiders his decision after Crowley's rejection. Crowley wouldn't be with him anymore. And, he is the one he wants to bring with him to Heaven, more than any book or object in his life. Their home isn't the earthly life they built --- it's each other. And in Aziraphale's eyes, Heaven will only be home if Crowley's with him.
Lastly, Aziraphale is literally an angel at heart. He still likes to do good deeds despite not having to. He likes telling about these deeds to other people, particularly Crowley after they retired from their respective divisions. More importantly, Aziraphale is a believer in the fundamental good in all people and beings. Which is not naivety. I think after the Apocalypse incident, Aziraphale isn't limited anymore by duty to see things as black and white anymore. But, of course, he still believes in doing good. And I think most importantly, he still believes that Heaven should represent what it ought to.
That's where his similarities end with Crowley. While Crowley is too disillusioned with the system to think of the possibility of change, Aziraphale isn't. And as someone who also saw the errors in the system, Aziraphale was hoping Crowley would be happy to help him change that. This time, he wouldn't live in fear of falling as a demon again. This time, Crowley's suggestions wouldn't be a cause for worry. Aziraphale will always welcome them as his second-in-command. And most importantly, the threat of the Book of Life will be kept far from both of them. Which goes to show that Aziraphale wasn't wrong to choose Heaven. And sorry, but I don't think he deserves to do an apology dance either.
Honestly, I get why people don't see Aziraphale's side that much. The first time I watched S2E6, I was slightly hoping Aziraphale would change his mind and miraculously appear in Crowley's car. Nevertheless, hating on Aziraphale just shows how much of the ending's nuance flew over these people's head. Did the ending hurt? Like hell, of course. But, would I want it to end in any other way? Fuck no. Let these two idiots pine for one another. Let longing break their masks and allow their characters and their relationship to mature and develop. I'm sure that whatever Neil has for us in S3 will make all the angst ever so worth it

lmao guess whos activated ✨blathering oaf mode✨ again (clue: its me)
(cut because length and spoilers, read at your own peril)
so this post got me spiralling into detective mode again and yes i know douglas suggesting it might have been war/pollution but i have certified trust issues™ and i dont believe that for one darn second
BUT
i also don't think it's a kiss. lemme explain horrifically
so i took another look at the two frames we have of The Leaked Smooch™ and the background has a lot to be desired (if you take into account that the boys are taking up most of the frame (duh), plus already fairly average quality video PLUS compression from when i captured it)
but i think we can safely rule out that The Leaked Smooch™ doesn't happen in the theatre here, mainly because even though the quality is bad, the glasses in the Smooch™ are crowley's modern ones, not the ones we saw him wear in the 1941 flashback in s1, plus his hair is differently styled... so yes can pretty confidently say this is not the kiss we are looking for
so i wanted to pinpoint what era the theatre bit is actually set in, and therefore i set about identifying the theatre in question. turns out kids that im not a good researcher (despite it literally being my job) so it took FUCKING AGES but i eventually found set photos of the boys entering a theatre, specifically the hippodrome in bo'ness:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now this was a turn-up for the books, because that's crowley's 1941 costume right??? id recognise that iconic fit anywhere. az's costume is trickier to pinpoint bc he wears the same damn thing but pretty sure this is a match to the church scene:
Tumblr media
so we know from s1 that we have the church scene yada yada, and crowley offers aziraphale a lift home... which we know he accepts given that the s2 trailer gives us the ✨Dinner of '41✨ scene:
Tumblr media
the other bit however to this puzzle is that there ALSO a set pic of aziraphale at the hippodrome in his magician's outfit. given the frame from the trailer where he looks like he's about to brick it going on stage, surrounded by lovely burlesque girlies and dame siân phillips in period dress, AND there were extras on the set dressed in ww2-type army uniforms, so i think it can be fairly surmised that this bit also occurs in the 40s
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so my thought process is that we're getting two separate scenes (kinda) from the 40s, we have the church bit from s1 plus the Dinner of '41 scene as its own entity, but then, like
aziraphale is doing his magic act as a side hustle to this burlesque show? and crowley turns up to watch him, hiding out up in the box?
if we follow this completely made up narrative ive just come up with, aziraphale, im assuming, finishes up and gets changed into his normal clothes, and then goes up to this box to meet crowley?
to this end, i captured and slowed down the bit in the opening sequence where aziraphale and crowley (sorry douglas, not buying it) are in the box... and-
now to my eye, the motion of them in the clip looks like they are dancing? i don't have the source to hand but we've had it confirmed that a choreographer was brought into s2, not impossible az would go up to meet crowley after his magic act, whilst there's still something going on on the stage, and the two end up dancing or something? and az bless his heart gets spooked from that?
im reasonably convinced that this might be the origin of the 'you go too fast for me' line - something happens and ultimately aziraphale gets spooked given that he's only just realised he has Feelings for crowley, and so my boy fucking legs it (a lil post i made a while ago about this exact scenario if you'd care to peruse)
other thing to note:
there is a figure that is lurking behind aziraphale and crowley in the box, which looks like it moves specifically in sync with crowley, so it could be a shadow, or someone/thing is in the box that they aren't aware of 👀 so maybe this thing (?) witnesses it all? whatever went down in the box?
so in my addled feral mind, ive come up with a speculation that even as im breathing life into it sounds unhinged and so implausible it's hilarious -
i put to you, members of the jury, that something was meant to happen in that box, and it didn't... that something being that crowley makes a move of some kind - kiss, dance, hug, declaration, WHATEVER - and aziraphale was meant to accept it/reciprocate/idk, but didn't.
and that fucks with the plan, and for lack of better terminology creates a nexus event (lmao thanks loki) which in turns starts screwing with other events, somewhat like i theorised in this post here tehe
are aziraphale and crowley, essentially, the earth's endgame? idk about u but ive read enough angst fics to know that it's not inconceivable that crowley and aziraphale's mere existence may have been part of god's plan to represent free will on earth, defend humankind, and give balance and meaning to it
so what would happen if aziraphale essentially rejected that? did the most human thing possible and resisted the plan? idk i feel at this point i am just writing a fic and this will all be ludicrously incorrect bUT half the fun is torturing yourself over your own theories right 🙃

Pls ignore the audio lmao
Max obviously was only looking at Will here because of the "zombie boy" rumors she heard about him, but I never understood why this scene had to exist if Max and Will never interact after that. Will didn't have to look at her to her curiosity about him be convinced.
Then I noticed this little scene happens in the same episode that Mike had an argument with Max at the boy's locker room. Do you guys think it's possible Mike wasn't only annoyed by Max because he didn't want El to be replaced, but also because he didn't like Will paying attention to her? Maybe he noticed Will and Max staring at each other in class?
I don't believe Mike knows about the nature of his special feelings for Will yet, but just like he didn't enjoy seeing Will dancing with a girl by the end of the season, he also probably didn't like to imagine Will crushing on Max?
Tumblr media
The funny part is that when I was watching S2 for the first time, I was paying attention to Will a lot, since he was the only kid we didn't know well yet, and also because I was looking forward to see the development of his sexuality arc that there series had hinted in S1. However, Will following Dustin and Lucas when they were curious about Max and some other scene of the beginning of the season made me a little insecure about it. In some moments, I really thought I was wrong about Will being gay.
Maybe it was written that way so Mike would also think Will might be interested in her?
I saw someone suggesting that other reason for Mike to be annoyed by Max could be that he couldn't understand why his friends were attracted to he (since he's gay and doesn't know yet), so her presence made him insecure and defensive. The good part is that all the explanations can coexist: Mike didn't want El to be forgotten and replaced; Mike didn't like Will and Max playing attention to each other; and Mike felt insecure because he couldn't understand why someone would crush on Max.

All those ideas are so good! but my favorite is the cursed Targbros with an immortal life remembering what they could have been and what really was. Especially Aegon, he would probably blame himself for listening to Otto/Alicent and taking the crown and screwing up his life and his brothers'. He really believed for a moment that he was doing this to protect Jace but in the end his war killed her (aaand basically the entire family 😬) and now he can't even follow her into death. You don't have to write it down but can we talk more about that? 🥲 tell us your vision of this universe
I love talking about these things and I’m probably going to talk a little TOO much here but that’s ok 🥲
For what it’s worth, I would like to write this one day, but it would probably be a longfic and I want to focus on completing The Main Timeline before I start working on spinoffs. Modern AU is an exception because it’s a lot more lighthearted, and I can put that out one at a time as shorter fics when I need a break from heavier stuff.
Tumblr media
^most iconic shot IMO from the Goblin Kdrama that inspired this idea. I’ll continue my rambling under the cut so I don’t spoil the show for anyone who was thinking of watching it.
Like the show, the fic would be dual timeline with cuts between the medieval Dance era and the modern era. In the modern day, the three Targbros are wandering around in their sad immortal forms. (Helaena’s role TBD, but I like the idea of her being an equivalent of the all-knowing granny in the kdrama.) Some of their memories have been locked away, but they remember enough to know they’re brothers, and their immortality has been given as a punishment. The three of them all have to do stuff that they hate. Aegon, like the kdrama grim reaper, is stuck in the bureaucracy of the afterlife sorting death paperwork. Aemond, like the goblin, has to help people *shudder*. Haven’t figured out Daeron’s job, but it probably involves being mean/violent.
Velaryon girls have been reborn into the modern world without any memories of their past lives. When they all meet, that triggers some of the Targbros’ memories to come back, and the bros freak out as they start to remember all the war crimes, treachery, etc.
Tumblr media
Aegon’s past is very similar to the kdrama grim reaper’s backstory. He was a king who listened to bad counsel, which led to him giving the order to execute his beloved wife. Afterwards he felt so guilty that he drank himself to death/was poisoned.
Aemond, like the kdrama’s goblin, killed A LOT of people during his human life. He also caused Luce’s death in this universe’s history, which set off the Dance. He felt guilty but also doubled down on his actions (which I suspect is what Aemond will do in S2?), which led him on a downward spiral of mass violence.
Daeron (who doesn’t have an equivalent in the kdrama) came very close to finding a way to end the Dance without further violence. Joff sneaked over to meet him while he was traveling with the Hightower army to negotiate peace terms. But there was some miscommunication/betrayal (maybe caused by Hugh and Ulf), maybe some accusations of dark sorcery, which led to the army leaders having Joff burned at the stake.
Fast forward to modern day, where the girls (who are reborn as sisters because I don’t wanna keep them apart) are dealing with normal life issues like trying to pay bills, dead-end jobs, etc. Suddenly these three randos show up, acting overly familiar and having very extreme mood swings (because they’re dealing with resourcing memories). And the girls are just like… “They’re hot but they seem kinda crazy, idk. 🤨”
I haven’t really thought of the rest, sorry 😅.

hi hi
I hope you’re doing well! Thank you for sticking with the fandom; your blog really keeps me going when it’s 11:22 P.M. and I have three assignments due in 30 minutes.
I’ve been thinking a bit (a lot) about the apology dance. I don’t understand why Crowley chose to apologise to begin with? Did he think Aziraphale wouldn’t have worked with him otherwise? I actually completely agree with Crowley’s initial response.
What are your thoughts? Am I missing something? It’s driving me a bit mad.
Loads of love!! <3
Hi Lovely!! Sorry for the delay in a reply to this!!! I completely forgot about it, so I'm so sorry!!
I hope you're doing well and those assignments got done!!! <3 <3
My opinion on the apology dance is kind of mixed, and people probably won't agree, so here goes:
So, my read on the situation is this: Crowley is pissed off at Aziraphale for wanting to help the angel that (unknown to Aziraphale!! this is important!) wanted to gleefully kill Azzie, but Aziraphale is ALWAYS trying to see the good in people, regardless of what has happened. It's one of Crowley's favourite things about Aziraphale, and I think inevitably it's what calms him down enough to see things from Azzie's POV.
BUT. There was also a THREAT to Azzie, and Crowley's über-protectiveness kicked in, but he knows Azzie is also stubborn, so, as you said, Crowley I think allowed Aziraphale that one apology dance to quickly resolve their fight and allow Crowley to be watchful over Azzie. Because at the very least, he himself knows that it's not Azzie's fault that he doesn't KNOW why Crowley reacted harshly to Gabriel because Crowley never TOLD Aziraphale, that much is clear by the end of the season. Crowley, unfortunately, believes he can protect Aziraphale from unhappiness and unpleasantness by just... omitting REALLY IMPORTANT FACTS from Azzie's knowledge, and in the end we end up with what happened AT the end. The dance is essentially Crowley just... covering up his worries for Aziraphale and is a precursor to the events of the Final Fifteen™.
And unfortunately a little dance can't solve their communication issues that plague all of S2.
So yeah, while I agree that Crowley PROBABLY has every right to be pissed off with Aziraphale, he ALSO kind of... doesn't explain to Azzie why he's so mad. Ever. From Azzie's perspective, he just wants his crush best friend to help him with something that he feels is important, and the one person he cares about so much turned his back on him for no reason. It hurt. It was said with such malice and hatred. It made him sad and mope. And he doesn't underSTAND why Crowley won't help him. Because Crowley KNOWS Aziraphale is like this, why is he being so mean about it?
And then Crowley comes back, does a little dance, and everything is better now!
(but we know it's not).
Thanks for this question Lovely!! I love delving into fictional character psyches, LOL. If anyone has any other suggestions, please do add on to this! <3

look i've tried my best not to go absolutely insane about good omens s2 but that has failed miserably and here i am. i just. heres a massive rant mainly about aziraphale. (good omens s2 ep6 spoilers)
Tumblr media
i am such a firm believer that there is no theorising to be had with the ending, regarding why aziraphale did what he did. there's nothing you can say. it was totally in character for aziraphale, and it was totally in character for crowley. it made so much sense and THAT is why it hurt; i just cannot for a second outsource aziraphales responsibility to the metatron or anyone else.
the metatron didn't coerce aziraphale - he didn't have to. aziraphale just jumped at the opportunity to 'fix' things. things, however, do not mean crowley. i mean, i'm sure this opinion has been BEATEN TO DEATH by now, but i'd still like to get it out there.
aziraphale tends to pick up very well on verbal communication, but not very well on non-verbal communication. aziraphale will always listen to crowley's outbursts (such as, calling crowley nice, and being pinned violently to a wall because of it), and will not take it personally. he listens, regardless of tone, and seems to understand crowley better through his verbal responses. that obviously isn't to say they ever communicate, THEY DON'T, but aziraphale is still better at verbal cues than non-verbal ones. aziraphale can never anticipate crowley's actions, however, and we see this with job's children. aziraphale was genuinely unsure of what crowley would do. with crowley, it seems to be the exact opposite. he anticipates aziraphale - he knows that aziraphale is going to like food before he's even tried it, he knows exactly how to coerce aziraphale to help stop armageddon in the first series/book because he knows exactly what aziraphale likes and cares about.
i think that communication difference is exactly why the end hurt so much. aziraphale - and i will die on this hill - must've firmly believed that crowley was going to be happy with the news. and so, he was totally lost when crowley responded poorly. and i mean, aziraphale knew IMMEDIATELY that crowley had responded poorly, he just thought that he had to explain his point better. aziraphale just wasn't able to pick up on the true reason for that very obvious, deep hatred for heaven that crowley has. his angelic ball of thoughts that we liken to a brain is telling him that not that crowley hates heaven because it's corrupt, but that crowley hates heaven because he was CAST OUT. it's a misinterpretation built on 6000+ years of no real communication.
aziraphale wanted to fix heaven for crowley, he didn't want to fix crowley for heaven. and yet, that's exactly how it came across. and because neither of them talk, crowley was taking aziraphale's words in his own (wrong) way, and aziraphale was taking crowley's reactions as 'not understanding'. honestly, aziraphale's overeager want to make things 'good' and 'right' again is what makes. every word he speaks is hypocrisy, because he's not speaking for a principle, he's speaking to try and convince someone. that's why we get such extreme statements from him: "you could be an angel again" is just an echo of "nothing lasts forever" - he is so insanely sure that crowley would want to - should want to - be an angel again, that he's willing to leave everything behind for his one little corrupt corner of eternity. it's poisonous, watching aziraphale stick so intensely to the rules of heaven and hell. but it's inherently in character.
to aziraphale, gabriel and beelzebub's departing was initially grounds for a confession. i mean, look at him.
Tumblr media
just look at his absolute happiness at being able to take crowley out to dance!!! in this episode, we get some real gems of aziraphale's true, deep love in his reactions - the infatuated smiles, the 'you're being silly', the hand on crowley's chest in the pub, the 'oh, crowley loves saving me' and VERY specifically, the gripping of crowley's shirt when he sees gabriel and beelzebub together because it means that they could be too. and quite honestly, i don't think the series conclusion throws ANY of that away!! i think the conclusion enhances it so aggressively! why? because it's made so much more painful.
aziraphale was so, SO ready to accept crowley's confession. he was going to confess himself - i am willing to die on that hill. throughout the whole season, he seems so infatuated and so ready to open himself up. yet, the moment the metatron proposes a promotion to archangel, that is all thrown away. all the rebellion he was willing to put up is lost. and i can understand that, because of the switch around in thought pattern, it's easy to say that the metatron manipulated him. but honestly? i really disagree with that take!
aziraphale is just not the type of angel to go against the rules. it took stupid amounts of alcohol to even get him to consider going against heaven regarding armageddon, and even then, he had to find his own loophole to justify it, AND EVEN THEN, HE ATTEMPTED TO CONVINCE HEAVEN TO CALL IT OFF DEMOCRATICALLY UNTIL THE VERY END. THE REASON HE ENDED UP DISCORPORATED AND FORCED TO POSSESS MADAM TRACY WAS BECAUSE HE WAS CONVERSING WITH THE METATRON TO TRY AND DEMOCRATICALY STOP ARMAGEDDON.
as he was ending that tether of obedience - as his want to be with crowley overcame the want to follow the rules - he seemed more bold. when he saw gabriel and beelzebub, that boldness solidified. he was willing to break rules and stand up for himself and crowley - at least, that's how i interpreted it, this season. but of course, he switched his opinions when an easier and SAFER route was provided for him. by making crowley an angel again, all the 'problems' would be solved. he wouldn't have to disobey heaven, crowley wouldn't be bound to the 'wrong' side, and they could be together. of course this thought pattern is inherently wrong, but it's a route that he would be more willing to take because - in his mind - it is a route that protects them.
and oh my god!! that apology after the kiss!! despite the fact it was tone deaf, it was also an apology in good faith. like the apology in s1, he is doing something, but unlike the apology in s1, he's also doing another thing. these things are:
distancing himself from the scenario. by apologising, he doesn't have to actually confront that what crowley's saying might be the better option. he is giving crowley the opportunity to take back his words so that both of them can continue playing by the book. we see this in season one.
misinterpreting literally everything. in season 1, that apology was a distancing attempt. hard and fast, clean and cut. but this time, i am genuinely and ENTIRELY willing to believe that aziraphale didn't understand crowley's kiss. sure, the apology might've also been based on distancing himself, but i would rather die than step down from my belief that aziraphale just wasn't able to grasp why crowley would kiss him if it weren't to apologise.
let me elaborate on this because i can't just put it in one point.
that kiss was seemingly out of the blue, for aziraphale. they had argued, it was nearly over, and then crowley decided to do something kind of - to aziraphale - a bit mental.
i mentioned, at the start of this bloody endless essay, that aziraphale is more adept at picking up on verbal cues. crowley, however, is able to pick up on non-verbal cues. what makes the scene so heart-wrenching is how they both choose to communicate. aziraphale explains again and again because words are what should make sense, and so crowley fumbles his way through communication. aziraphale listens - he waits, he's patient, like he always is - and then he just goes back to explaining, calmly, patiently, as if crowley is somehow just not understanding it. so crowley, as a last ditch attempt to get aziraphale to stay and rethink everything, kisses him.
you know that scene. the scene. this one.
Tumblr media
this thing? this moment? you know, where aziraphale doesn't even flinch? i mentioned this earlier - aziraphale is prioritising the words, and listening to their meanings, disregarding the venom in his tone. there's a reason people keep comparing the two scenes! whilst shot similarly, the most harrowing similarities and differences arise the moment you look a bit deeper. for example, aziraphales demeanour. he's calm when crowley pins him to the wall and seethes in his tone, but he's flailing when kissed. see, when crowley finally does something that isn't accompanied by words - a human display of passion and love, a plea - aziraphale has nothing verbal to go off of.
"i forgive you" is a terrible thing to say, don't get me wrong, but aziraphale jumped to one conclusion. one that would let him believe - in his mind - the best case scenario. that the kiss was an apology. and so, when crowley storms out, we get this.
Tumblr media
regret, confusion, guilt, that's all very present. he's not only misunderstood crowley, but he's talked down to him and severed a very important and close relationship. but the way he touches his own lips, oh my god.
aziraphale's always been tempted by humanely pleasures. food, obviously. but he also just enjoys their culture an obvious amount. books, for instance! that's not something you'd be getting in heaven, even though the bible is probably endorsed. books are a human thing. as is food, as is theatre, as is magic.
a kiss is totally within that spectrum. it's a human pleasure. and aziraphale adores that closeness, and he has just LOST IT FOREVER. it's the most specific look of regret i've ever seen on a character. it's performed so well. aziraphale truly thinks that he's doing what he's doing for good - transforming heaven, making it less corrupt, making it better. so when he walks away for good and gets in the elevator, he thinks he's making the right sacrifice. but, if you ask me, crowley must be thinking that aziraphale has finally found the one temptation he won't give into.
and it's crippling, for the both of them.
tldr; aziraphale fucked up so bad, and it is his own fault. but also, it's still totally in character!!!
sorry for the longest post ever oh mygod

For the character thing:
Can you do Suitcase, please? (She’s my favorite!)
Favorite thing about her: Genuinely, she's one of the characters that I really like the most on S2, although thanks to the fandom treatment I have to watch s2 in order to remember the things I liked about her as well, but in general I just think that Suitcase is a very kind hearted character. I usually talk about how Mic has an heart of gold, but Suitcase genuinely does as well. She has done no wrong in the whole s2, except for laughing at Knife's doll, but she's also just. Very mature emotionally, which makes sense. The thing that I like about her the most is how she's still full of love but knows when to put her boundaries first after what happened too. I can relate to her- well, could, since I felt like that once.
Least favorite thing about her: The same thing I said about Nickel. It's not a bad thing since it also makes it work out on canon, but I think that one of the main factors as to why their relationship gets misinterpretated the most is because from how one-sided Nickel's and Suitcase's relationship is. But that's not quite true at all. Suitcase did care about Nickel/saw him as a friend of sorts, or mutual friend because of Baseball. She genuinely had a sort of appreciation for Nickel, but the way Nickel saw things was very different (but Suitcase is aware that Nickel "tried to" protect her, but he just kept pushing her away), and this is explicitly said by Knife.
Suitcase tends to see the good in others so of course she would hope that Nickel genuinely means it when it comes to giving Balloon a chance, and yet... I just think that I would want to. Rework the way they were written on early s2, since that has an effect as to how they ended up being. To make stuff more emotional on Suitcase's part.
Favorite line: "Baseball, you can't just... fix it. It simply just won't go away. But you're here. You're listening. You're trying. So... thanks."
BrOTP: Mic, Knife, Pickle, Cabby, mostly everyone else.
OTP: World's Worst Polycule + Trophy's Big Ass Polycule.
NOTP: Taco. I. I genuinely don't get why people ship her with Taco.
Random Headcanon: More than a headcanon it's kind of based on canon, but making art of any sorts makes her feel relaxed and process her feelings well. She likes doing paintings, yes, but she also enjoys doing crochet and making sculptures. Maybe even got into photography too, or writing. It really helps. And meanwhile I do think that Suitcase doesn't know how to cook, she can really do good stuff if she follows the recipe with time and with someone else too.
Unpopular opinion: SHE'S AWESOMELY PANSEXUAL 💥💥💥💥💥💥, I think that Suitcase suffers as well, one of the worst treatments in the fandom, and that would be her infantilization on fandom terms. I know that it is a thing on fandoms for people to pick on sweet/well intentionated characters to dumb-ify and/or infantilize, but Suitcase's is one of the worstvcases I've seen, ESPECIALLY regarding fanon Nickel. People treat her as this hopeless, naive and weak character when she's not.
She struggles with mental health a lot, sure, and she really sees the good parts of people and tends to hold onto things she thinks about eother, but she's not a "kid" just because of that, neither should be treated like one either. Suitcase is one of the most mature characters in the series (not surpassing Knife of course), and she knows a lot about those troubles on general. Nickel hurted her, yes. But she cared about Nickel enough to believe that he could still change. She hoped that he would get her input as in finally realizing what he did wrong. I genuinely just hope that once Nickel and Suitcase get reunited, people can actually realize how emotionally mature she is. Y'all treated her so poorly.
Song that I associate with her: Never Love An Anchor, Me And My Husband, Washing Machine Heart, Misery Meat, Maybe I Was Boring, Around The Pomegranate, Slow Dance With You, Tears Over Beers, and I'm Sorry, Boris.
Favorite pictures of her:

Post-Hoot for Follies at the Coven Day Parade!
-FatCDP was written during 2020 election, hence the uncertainty and political anxiety of the ending.
-Zach Marcus pitched the abomination skateboard, and after laughing so hard, everyone kept it in.
-Buddy Belos (the giant cloth puppet by Hooty) is based off Buddy Jesus from Dogma.
-They did #RaineRemembers
Post-Hoot for Elsewhere and Elsewhen!
-Flora’s whip is indeed a palisman (or at least that’s what Cissy believes).
-Deb was taken aback by how much Philip looked like a younger Dell. Sarah joked about Twitter theorists going off, told us to tune in.
Post-Hoot for Any Sport in a Storm!
-The term ‘Swollow’ was coined and I think we need to appreciate that.
-John Bailey Owen (AKA JBO) confirmed there were previous Golden GuardS, plural.
-Hunter wouldn’t have asked any seamstresses for help in making the sigil, because he feels he has to earn it the right way
-Jerbo was based on John Bailey Owen.
-According to their VAs, in regards to what animals their characters would be and what they’d carry on their person; If Hunter were an animal he’d be a golden retriever, so desperate for love and attention, but not happy like a dog though; Loyal, like a sad, kicked, rescue dog. He would carry a polaroid of Belos with an inspirational quote in his pocket to start his day.
-Boscha would be a dragon so she could take everyone out in one fell swoop when she’s feeling mad. She’d carry her penstagram scroll.
-Lilith would be a raven, but S2 Lilith would be a seagull, aimless, I guess I’ll look for a bagel. She carries really heavy books that are constantly weighing her down, and a spare pair of glasses broken down the middle.
-Luz would be a real frisky cat, or a dog/puppy, something very fluffy. Or a llama, drooling everywhere, but fierce. Is also open to otters, use tools, fluffy, oysters in pockets. Luz would have her Tamagotchi.
-Cissy suggested Edric is Alador’s favorite but Sarah that he’s not Odalia’s; It’d probably be herself. Sarah said she probably doesn’t like any of her kids tbh.
-Lilith would have 4 followers on Penstagram, Luz would get 45 and go Popular!!! Jerbo would have a lot, Hunter would have 5, among them Luz, Willow, and Gus. He follows just Belos. Boscha has all of Hexside but has just a a little less than Amity, which bothers her. Boscha would have sponsors, Willow would probably get followers posting her fitness routines.
-JBO believes Dana wrote Now I’m only scarred emotionally due to the darkness.
-Cissy did the boogie down to history town dance with eyebrow lift, even as she voiced Lilith doing the same.
-Cissy can’t speak for Dana on whether Lilith is autistic.
-A book on Hooty’s anatomy would immediately burn, be banned instantly, and also fold open like one of those pop-ups.
-In regards to Marvel and DC, Boscha is DC because it’s lesser, Lilith would be there too while asking “Is this the cool place?” Hunter watched The Batman and was like I’d be that guy. Luz would watch the Marvel movies and be I’m that person, and then get relegated to some DC cancelled TV show. Cissy thinks Luz would get along with Quill, to Sarah, Drax is more her speed (If I had to guess, because they’re both totally neurodivergent, or at least Drax is coded that way in how he approaches and thinks of things differently, literally, and Luz would relate to that).
-Being unhinged like when recording the grave scene from Eclipse Lake is easy for Zeno.
-RO, TTBK, and Hollow Mind are Rebecca’s favorite episodes of 2B.
-Rebecca’s birthday is April 7th!

I have seen ppl speculate (mostly as a joke about Alicent "passing the gay gene" to one of her kids) that the showwriters could make Daeron gay when he shows up in S2. Are there any hints in the books that point to this being a possibility?? I know there was a different Daeron from another generation who fans believe was gay and had a knight as a lover but I don't remember which one. Also some ppl ship him with Addam (or was it Alyn??) because of that line from the book about Tessarion and Seasmoke doing a mating dance?
Basically, what are your thoughts on this? I think it'd be interesting for his character but it could go wrong if the writers fumble the bag.
Daeron is 14-16 during the Dance, so a little young for be having torrid love affairs. He doesn't really get a romantic plotline. I don't think him and Alyn could ever meet, since Alyn doesn't have a dragon and he's mainly on Driftmark-Dragonstone. You also wouldn't want Daeron to have a relationship with this guy; he's such an unnecessary movie sequel.
Daeron has already died by the time Tessarion and Seasmoke have their "mating dance", though I believe that to be more of a metaphor than anything else. I don't see how Daeron can be shipped with Addam when they don't even get the chance to interact. Tessarion is such a fucking queen though, my girl was loyal to the greens until the very end!! Even with Daeron dead she attacked the blacks & fought for the rightful king! V woke of her. Such an ally.
I'd be down with making Daeron gay, but, for the love of all things holy, let's not pair poor Daeron with black supporters. 😅 He doesn't even like the Two Betrayers. We're all watching an incest show anyway, his (2nd) cousin Lyonel Hightower is right there and age-appropriate. Let's steal him away from Lady Sam! 💅 That way we get another Hightower army for our Aegon!
PS. The Daeron you're talking about was the son of Aegon V (The Egg), the one betrothed to Lady Olenna, Margaery's grandmother.

Got a lot of OFMD vibes from Good Omens s2???
BIG spoilers for both GO S2 and OFMD S1 under the cut
Like, this isn’t a situation for the copied homework meme format, I believe it’s just same braincell on a really juicy story beat to create drama in a high concept romance, but I find the similarities fascinating so I’m gonna post about them. (What’s funny is that the thing that actually got me to watch OFMD in the first place is the promise of Stede being like aziraphale and blackbonnet being like A/C…)
The main thing is how the ending of ep 6 reminded me of OFMD ep 9.
The central pair kiss for the first time— letting any remaining oblivious audience members know this isn’t just a bromance, and alienating any homophobes in the audience who weren’t already alienated by the queer supporting characters. (That last bit is actually the biggest other “ofmd vibes” thing I picked up— how the very queer supporting roster served both to let homophobes know the show isn’t for them, and to reassure the queer audience that they’re allowed to hope for the main pair being Outright Canon)
But they also enter their divorce era— specifically, what happens is this:
The sunshine bookworm has a scene with a character the audience recognises as antagonistic (completely different scenes though— Stede’s traumatic experience with the bully in the woods vs Az being emotionally manipulated by metatron into thinking coming back to heaven is a good idea)
This scene, combined with his existing insecurities, causes him to return to a life that he won’t even find fulfilling (we know this bc he stepped away from it in the first place!) but he’s been convinced that it’s The Thing He Has To Do
In the process, he abandons his black-clad true love and breaks his heart
But here (in addition to all the obvious differences in context and execution), the season cliffhanger cuts away BEFORE “episode 10” as it were.
And… I don’t think “episode 10” is going to happen immediately for Aziraphale when lights go up on s3. Like, the “love epiphany” part may come in an early episode (we saw the way he touched his lip), but he’s certainly not getting the “plan to leave” part until some time further into s3, because the life he’s mistakenly gone back to isn’t with a Mary figure who cares about him but wants him elsewhere as much as he secretly wants to be elsewhere— instead, it’s with Heaven, an abusive cult that is planning to use him to destroy Earth, and has the power to destroy him on a whim.
Aziraphale’s key insecurity is his need for authoritative reassurance that he is Doing The Right Thing. This is what allowed metatron to use the offer of heaven to manipulate Az into hurting Crowley’s feelings and then abandoning Crowley. The tone demands an eventual happy ending (my faith in this is why the ending of e6 didn’t even make me mad), but Az is going to have to work through those issues before the happy ending can take place— Nina basically spelled this out.
The next place this comparison led me was to the thought “can I connect a red string on my cork board between post s2 crowley and ep10 Ed?”
There is an important difference between them, and it’s in kind of the opposite direction as the difference between Az-when-we-cut-away and Stede-when-we-cut-away
Ed has closed himself off to vulnerability completely after his heartbreak, and lashes out horribly, and we all know the reunion in s2e1 is not going to go smoothly
Meanwhile, although Crowley is heartbroken and mad… he is ultimately like Maggie on the “I hope she’ll be there when I’m ready but there’s no guarantee—” “there is” front. Aziraphale needs to work through his issues, and the plot needs to get to a place where The Real Big One is foiled and neither of them are in imminent danger of destruction, and once Az stops being an idiot he will need to do a great many “you were wrong” dances, but once all those prerequisites are fulfilled, we’re getting our second kiss (and I’m fanning myself just thinking about that hypothetical scene hoooooboy)
Maybe there will be a period of “angel I can’t forgive you. not yet”, that would be juicy drama, but the tone of the story demands that any such moment will be temporary
However, I do have a vivid mental image now, inspired by e10 Ed, of post s2 crowley standing in the bookshop and saying to himself out loud “oh, nothing lasts forever, is that right, angel?” and then going on a bender of destroying or giving away books (I lean towards giving away as it would leave less permanent fallout for later, and also be funnier, while still being just as potent a gesture of spite in the moment)
Anyway when OFMD S2 comes out and we get a better look at the blackbonnet divorce arc I’m going to try to use it as a divination tool to predict the events of the A/C divorce arc

i’m so sick of people saying that if theloise will happen eloise will be estranged from the ton because it is simply not true imo!! we all know how eloise feels about that society but still, she wouldn’t want to be left out. fortunately that is not the case. some people use this argument to explain why eloise and theo won’t be together but my point still stands: money, social status and society rules won’t be the reasons why they won’t end up together. those are just lame excuses. well, they may be if, for example, theo decides to let her go because he doesn’t feel worthy of her or something like that, but for me this is the only case. but the thing is: they could end up together.
let’s talk about the bridgerton family. we all know how much they value love, especially violet. she made this clear in the books (where she also talked about class!!),
Tumblr media
and she made it clear in the tv show, both in s1 and s2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
obviously, the head of the household is anthony. we saw, at the beginning of s2, that he’d decided to put duty above everything else but eventually he let it go and decided to choose love. and i’m sure he’ll want the same for his siblings. of course, this is a tv show, there will be conflicts, but he wants his siblings to experience his same happiness. also, mary sharma’s backstory in the show. kate’s dad. c’mon it would be VERY hypocritical to disapprove.
the queen. if she approves of something, the rest of the ton approves as well. we all remember the wrecking ball dance and how she literally meddled in the discussion, and lied lol, to avoid rumors because she saw the love between anthony and kate. of course everyone knew, even the queen, that that was, in fact, the reason why the wedding wasn’t celebrated, but in that moment it didn’t matter. she forgot about the failed wedding and watched the couple on the dance floor.
like violet, even the queen seems to love love. calam agrees with me. he said:
Tumblr media
so i believe that if theo and eloise decide to be together and decide to do it properly, the queen would approve. i say “properly” because we all saw how the queen reacted when she saw lady mary. haters use that scene to prove their point but i want to use that scene to prove MY point. queen charlotte said:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she was mad. lady mary eloped (correct me if i’m wrong). but she did what she had to dobbecause she didn’t have the support of her family. but eloise does and the bridgertons would help her with the queen. they will help her explain the situation to her majesty. and again, the queen loves love. she was mad at simon and daph too when the engagement was announced but, let’s be honest, she loved simon’s speech. she loves to see two people in love.
so, in conclusion, social status is not what will get in the way of their relationship. i don't know what they will come up with to break them up and i hope the writers will choose the right path.
i could talk about how they’re perfect for each other and use eloise, claudia and calam’s words to explain my point and the whole marina’s situation, but that’s another story. if they have to go separate ways, i just hope they will part as friends. i don’t want them to ruin his character so that people will root for phillip.
thanks for coming to my tedtalk🫶🏻

When blue meets green
Lokius. Oral sex, anal sex

Things I noticed/thought while watching GO S2 (again) Episode 1
In the intro we can see a tombstone with ‘Adam’ written on it. It also says ‘I do not understand, surely your very excistence requires (the end) of the world (…)’ I think Adam changed the world a lot more than just bringing the Bentley and the bookshop back. He might have changed it in minute details, but having great effects after a while. I might write another post on all the other odd things I noticed.
Maggie makes spelling mistake, demons can’t spell, hmmm. This seems weird to just put that in there without it meaning something, yet it also seems too simple.
Crowley wondering what the point of it all is can be seen as the thoughts of a former demon who is very scared and anxious for his (and Aziraphale’s) fragile excistence. Could it also be interpreted as a genuine question though? As someone who does not believe in any god, I’ve wondered this too. What is the point? You make a universe, you make angels who should do your bidding no questions asked, the ones that do ask questions (not a banishable offence in my eyes, I agree with Angel!Crowley, who is guarding the guards?) get thrown into a pool of boiling sulphur to become demons. You make the whole human race (and don’t get me started on the Garden of Eden), plan to destroy it after 6000 years while angels and demons can have a big fight to decide who is the best?! They portray it as being good of evil, choosing sides, but they are equally bad, except Hell is worse because they have leaky pipes and it’s very gloomy. Also, I love his hair this season even if I prefer the Season 1 hair (which is why I dyed mine red recently, I love it <3). I do wonder if the different shade has a secret meaning? Also because in the minisodes his hair is the more gingery variety instead of the more red variety in present day.
When Aziraphale visits Maggie, we can hear the song ‘Don’t tell me what to do’ by Pam Tillis. Here are the lyrics: Is this foreboding or what?!
It seems strange to me that Michael and Beelzebub just speak on the phone like that, I thought they were sworn enemies, and why would/should Michael trust anything a demon says? (And vice versa tbh).
Crowley wiggling his feet as he enters the Bentley is adorable. It is because he doesn’t want to get dirt in the car or because he is clumsy, we might never know…
I love this version of Bohemian Rhapsody in the background in the coffee shop!
What does ‘ask him properly!’ mean exactly?
I love the pitch Aziraphale uses to pronounce the ‘no’ when he says he wants Crowley to help him. Also the start of their communication being all over the place. Please talk to each other! 😩
Very impressive lightning strike by Crowley. I hope we get a season 3, because I am willing to bet we will see a very powerful Crowley, for reasons unknown to us so far.
Uriel’s delivery of the line ‘… and that’s going to be you’ is too good, I can replay that forever.
The way I squealed when I first saw the scene with ‘Good old fashioned lover boy’.
Oh my god, Crowley rolls his eyes right as he starts the apology dance 😄
