I've been in a future scenarios mood, so here's a question: do you imagine florelia having kids? And if yes, how do you think thwy'd be like?

ooo fun! i remember answering this at some point but i can't find the post so i'll do it again!!

i can see them having kids :) i mentioned before that i think they're the kind of people who would want to plan it out and wait until after they've settled down. so when they both have stable jobs and aren't constantly having to save the universe basically adjhglad i can see helia wanting a solid two kids while flora would want more but staggered out (so one kid then wait like five years then another then wait ten years. that kind of thing).

i can also see them adopting instead! we don't really know how pregnancy works in winx and they may not want to go that route yknow? i definitely think they'd be fond of adopting or even fostering! i think they'd enjoy fostering older teens too :)

in terms of how i think their biological children might be like, mmm... i don't really imagine next gen characters too much so i can't give you specifics. but i do think that florelia would settle down in magix first and then move to lynphea later on. so i think they'd get a really good sense of lynphean culture and be very integrated with it. so them having nature magic seems plausible! i think it'd be fun if one of them had animal related magic too :) i also imagine helia wanting to teach them self defense early on just because of how many enemies they have so one of them being interested in red fountain seems likely too.

So here's my conflict. On the one hand, I agree that s12 wouldve been much more interesting if theyd gone with the original idea of having Libber act as a living battery for the game. It would have facilitated more emotional motivation for Jay, as well as a greater sense of thematic cohesion and parallel between him and Unagami. Plus, it would be cool to finally see what happened to Libber.

On the other hand, I feel like Jay never finding out why he was abandoned and learning to heal and move past it anyway has some understated potential to create a really interesting narrative. Like, Jay's whole thing is that he's insecure and worried that people will leave him. So I feel like sure, yeah, itd be cathartic for him to find closure knowing his parents had a good reason for abandoning him. BUT, I think it would be more compelling if Jay's arc featured him accepting that yes, sometimes people just leave you. You might never know why, and you might never get the chance to find out. Sometimes things happen and you never get proper closure. But it's still possible for you to move forward and find happiness in spite of that. Jay finding his mom and learning that she didnt abandon him intentionally is a satisfying story, but an easy one. Whereas Jay learning to accept that his mom is gone and he'll never know why is a much more nuanced one, in my opinion. (I just wish s12 had actually given it the proper development it needed)

Idk. I agree that the Libber plotline couldve added a lot more depth to Prime Empire overall, but I also feel like they could have very easily given that season depth even without her being there.

i think the dude is an only child . HOWEVER if the different dudes HAD to have siblings, this is what I think theyd have:

postal 1 dude the kinda guy to have an older sister that took care of him and tried her best to help him but she tragically died or something. like the whole "she was the last angel in this world run rampant with demons" shebang. i came up with this before reading the novel and christ i was spot on

meanwhile postal 2 dude the kinda guy to just have a shitty older brother. just an absolute asshole. like the kinda guy that keeps asking dude to bail him outta jail. and dude does NOT wanna talk to his ass ever no family reunions

postal 3 dude i think would have a lot of siblings. maybe he’s the oldest and he only halfheartedly tries to set a good example. I picture him having a pre/teen sister who he keeps trying to make conversation with but is totally out of his depth with what kids are into these days. also a little brother who he makes fun of a lot

postal 4 dude feels like the kinda guy who has a similarly aged sister (1-2 years older/younger) and they didn’t have a good relationship growing up. overall tense atmosphere. something gives me the feeling that their parents caused it. but as they matured, they slowly began understanding each other, made up and now they’re got a bond of steel, even if they don’t see each other very often

my own opinions on the matter:

taylor has surprisingly shown to be a decent enough caretaker to aidan, although i feel this goes slightly against her characterization otherwise. if we hadnt had the character of aidan written in worm and ward i would have guessed she would do a terrible job raising children. she would have way too high expectations for them and pressure them to become survivors almost as much as she pressures herself. but canon seems to dissagree with this so.

blake would be a great older brother, like his dinamic with evan showed, but a lot of it was by virtue of evan being a bird and thus not requiring the same needs as a full human child. i think blake lacks the stability and reliableness to be a good father and he would hate being tied down to another person like that

sy, a deceptively good father i would say. everything in the story shows us that this guy is an absolute bastard BUT, he does care about children. he cares about children A LOT. he can show a softer kinder side when he really wants to and he can mold himself to occupy the rol of a good father if he felt he needed to. i have no doubt he would be able to raise good, smart, healthy, strong, emotionally stable kids who would be... perhaps a little TOO loyal to father dear. if he doesnt go completly insane first.

victoria, she is a good mentor, she might even be a good caretaker as long as its not a 24/7 job but i dont see her as the best mom tbh. this is going to sound horrible and im probably biased but she would be a slightly less bad version of carol. too married to her job, too filled with trauma and baggage. i dont think she would even want to be a mom.

the kennet trio, im doing them collectively because lets be honest, that is just how they operate in general and also because honestly, out of the entire group they would be the best moms, by a longshot. i mean, this is the boring answer, obviously yes theyd be great moms, anything anyone of them might lack when it comes to raising a child the other two would compliment. any kids they have would all be like brothers and sisters amongst themselves. they would have all of kennet to take care of them. i could see verona having a hard time being on the same wavelength as their kid as she is too busy with her work, i could see avery being a little to distracted going around the world and missing important details about their kids, i could see lucy being a little too harsh or strict but overall they would ace it.

and yeah ig but theyre not rlly?? idk substantial?? its been a while since i was insane abt uty, ive been meaning to replay it but stuffs been getting in the way.

anyway heres a couple

i think hes a good cook. i like the thought of him teaching ceroba how to cook, too (she almost set the kitchen on fire, they yelled about it in fear, had a couple drinks, then almost set the kitchen on fire again and yelled abt it). he also is the one cooking for the rest of the feisty five more often than not (they others are mostly ok at cooking tho. ed's really good, but struggles sometimes bc his hands are too big to be able to properly use certain utensils and appliances. moray is also a pretty good cook and help ed out a lot. they make a great team. ace is alright, can definitely follow a recipe, and is really good abt finding ones the rest really like. mooch.. mooch wouldnt go hungry if she lived alone. but shes generally not allowed to cook. has a no-bake dessert everyone loves though, she makes it on holidays and special occasions and to bribe the others)

this isnt my hc but i dont remember who i first heard it from but i loooove the hc that star glows when hes flustered. i think when he first started crushing on ceroba and theyd have sleepovers, hed just start glowing at times and shed throw pillows at his face telling him to stop bc she couldnt sleep

on that note, consider the bunk bed in his room. him and orion definitely shared. and orion definitely dreaded ceroba sleeping over bc her and star would share a bed and stay up late joking around and playing and talking and whatnot and hed often have to get up and just leave to go sleep on the couch or with their parents. they got into arguments about this.

he runs warm. dont hold his hand unless you wanna get sweaty.

in the case of clover lives/dadlo, hes the last one to know that clover thinks of him as a father figure. everyone else knows, either through observation or clover accidentally calling him dad in front of them or them just admitting they think of him as their dad. star probably learns of this via ceroba or dina or one of the five or someone telling him "you know clover thinks of you as a father figure, right?" and he bluescreens about it

im not like. the biggest corn yaoi shipper ever, but i think its cute (and the name makes me laugh), and i think dalv confesses first. theyre in some fancy restaurant or something and star asks "so, what'd you call me here for?" and to that dalv responds by just blurting out that he thinks hes in love with him. and star immediately chokes on his food bad enough he needs medical attention.

so ceroba mentions in-game that living w the feisty five is a bit of a nightmare bc of the sleeping and the fact that everyone has some kinda problem that specifically makes it hard for her to fall asleep. i think star is actually pretty normal in terms of sleep. might snore lightly if hes in an uncomortable position, but overall just quiet. the rest of the five dont fare so well. ed's got it best, he just snores. loudly, but everyone other than ceroba is just kinda fine w it. moray grinds their teeth and needs to be restrained or theyll end up halfway across the room from where they fell asleep. or farther. ace sleepwalks and talks. ceroba once woke up to him eating the berries off the plant on the dresser by her bed. still asleep. mooch also grinds her teeth and "sleep steals", aka waits for everyone else to fall asleep so she can go through their stuff. star, despite being able to sleep through everything else, somehow has a 6th sense for her or something, because he very consistently wakes up to catch her red-handed and chew her out

thank u adrian for sending this because leopine haunts me i have to talk about it at least once a day or i go insane mwah

1 how did they first meet?

it's so funny because canonically leona technically met the twst mc at the entrance ceremony and then forgot about it until they accidentally step on his tail in chapter one. so technically theirfirst meeting is at the ceremony but leona is too bored to notice pine, who internally is like "wtf a catboy?" but is too focused on the task at hand (getting the hell out of there) to investigate further. then i Think they might meet again in the same way as chapter one or in the same way as the novel (with leona "defending" mc ace and deuce from upperclassmen) but in both cases leona would noticeably more polite than canon because he sees pine as a woman. he still sniffs him to check if he really doesnt have magic and pine is extremely self conscious about his body odor so he's like "uh d-do i stink?". but yeah after that leona is called by ruggie and leaves (still calling pine "herbivore" because its hilarious im keeping that).

2 what was their first impression of each other?

pine: wtf a catboy? 🤨 > HE IS A CATBOY O_o > what a weirdo > WHAT A JERK (chapter 2)

leona: wtf a magicless herbivore? 🤨 > what a weirdo

3 did any of their friends or family want them to be together?

THATS A FUN QUESTION...for friends i feel like a good chunk of them would be oblivious because they are silly teenage boys who are also traumatized as hell. i feel like ruggie would be the first to notice they like each other even before they themselves realize it and hes like "oh my God they are so stupid", followed by rook who sees love everywhere but prefers to observe rather than actively intervene, then vil who sees pine as a personal project of untapped beauty of sorts and wants the best for him so hed be like "are you Absolutely sure you want leona kingscholar????" but then hed be supportive. i think another person to notice would be idia because pine often hangs out at the board game club and often talks about leona (ex: "if i had to kiss someone it would be leona but like as friends hypothetically not for real because we're just friends anyways can i roll initiative lol?") but because hes. idia he would find it eextremely cheesy. pine also tells malleus at some point and he is supportive for the most part but hes not very helpful with love advice.

as for family......okay i think leonas family would be supportive but i cant say for sure since THEY HAVE YET TO INTRODUCE HIS BROTHER AND HIS SISTER IN LAW IN CANON. but yeah i think that theyd be supportive overall.

pines family...well you know My family. leona pretty much represents anything pines parents dont want for him (long hair + tattoo + had to repeat a year + unclear future + thinks outside of the box + wears leather) but after learning that hes rich theyd forgive him for anything lol. not sure about pines siblings.

4 who felt romantic feelings first?

not sure....theyre both very mistrustful + their trauma convinced them that they're not meant to find romantic love...i think they develop feelings around the same time but are unaware of it for weeks. maybe pine is the first to realize it but idk.

5 did either of them try to resist their feelings?

YES BOTH OF THEM. pine tries to repress his feelings by trying to be "logical" considering that 1) they are very different and a romantic relationship between them wouldn't work 2) they are quite literally from two different worlds 3) leona doesn't like men romantically (he does but neither of them are aware of it for a while). leona initially represses his feelings by avoiding pine but this hurts both of them so he doesnt do it for long.

6 if you had told one of them that the other would be their soulmate, what would they think?

they both do not believe in soulmates or "fated love" so they wouldn't take it seriously lol

7 what would their lives be like if they had never met?

oh so like if pine never came to twisted wonderland basically? ok Maybe leona wouldn't have recovered from his overblot...even if he did he would have come out if it more injured and emotionally scarred than he did in canon.

pine would have probably stayed miserable forever most likely. not because of a lack of romantic love but because the twst cast as selfish and egotistical as they are made him learn how to stand up for himself. if he stayed home he would have continued doing what other people asked him to do forever...

headcanons for the adult camp camp characters part 1 nerriston/performance trio because i love them with all of my heart ever

preston ends up working at a local theatre as the primary director there!! the theatre's actors usually consist of high school students and the theatre ends up hosting a lot of larger high school or college plays, and preston has pressured quite a few colleges into doing some of his favorite plays. the happiest hes ever been was when he got to direct a heathers play. he literally came home and shoved the script in harrison and nerris' faces out of excitement.

harrison works as a magician at the same theatre. he did a few shows in other theatres, a few times in vegas. he wants to become a famous magician, (as preston does a famous actor), but likes his life where it is right now and wouldnt want to be moving all of the time for shows. plus, hes terrified of being seen as a freak of some sort of ridiculed. he does bigger shows every so often, dont think he doesnt, but he mainly does shows in his city.

nerris' job is in marketing. she hates it a lot but performance doesnt bring as much money in as theyd like so they have to put in effort. theyre honestly happy with it because while the job itself sucks, she likes seeing harrison and preston be able to do their own crafts.

nerris did not want a dog. preston and harrison found a dog being given away in a walmart parking lot. and thus, nerris woke up to a dog in their home. harrison named him mantacore after the roy and siegfried's tiger yk the one. he is a samoyed. he sleeps on the bed with them.

they dont have kids ever mostly because i really dont like kids im sorry but i feel as though preston would see a child and go "ew" and nerris is the only one with actually good parents so 2/3 of the kids parents would just not know what to do. soooo no kids

nerris binds but never gets top surgery!! this is mostly because some days they dont really get dysphoria, and they still like appearing feminine from time to time (though neutral is definitely their style like 75% of the time). this headcanon is made by me, someone who binds but does not want to get top surgery, half projecting onto nerris

harrison does not drink, preston sometimes does, nerris does. this doesnt rlly have a followup headcanon but i can only imagine harrison's introverted ass staring down at a cup of orange juice while at a party and then driving everyone else home

there are three bookshelves in the living room. you can tell whos is whos because one is filled with percy jackson and narnia and other fantasy books, another has every script to every play in existence ever as well as analysis books of creative theatre, and one has like four magic related books and mostly stores props. not to say harrison doesnt read, but he mostly steals from nerris' shelf when he wants to read.

every summer, the performance trio (along with the other adult campers) hangs out at camp campbell. the camp shut down after the kids all became adults, mostly because nobody wanted to send their kids to a camp known for being a money laundering scheme, housing a known criminal (cameron campbell), overall a big scam, and because the amount of fbi helicopters flying to the camp was enough to drive everyone else away. it was a miracle the campers were allowed to come back there the following summers.

as adults, the campers are all relatively good friends. dolph moved to germany, but he visits whenever he can, and neil is gone a lot doing research projects in different countries, but the campers still live relatively close together and hang out a lot. i cant see a universe where they stop talking after camp

in honor of the camp, and also because yellow grew on them after a while, yellow is still a color most of the campers wear pretty often, except for max, dolph, and space kid.

harrison is still scared of quartermaster. how is he not dead yet. it has been a decade. he looked old when david was a kid. why is he still here. what the fuck was up with that space octopus. what does he know.

i like to think at least once quartermaster showed up at the nerriston house, poked his hook at harrison and said "come with me" and harrison Just Did. he came back a day later looking absolutely disturbed. he probably saw a demon or something, knowing quartermaster.

so they make for a , , particular person , for sure , , because the page class kind of , , fucks with the aspect , to put scientifically , , , , they are very much a pushover , ,first because page . and secondly because thats just very common with breath players , , so you can imagine how much theyd be . regardless theyd be a very good player to have in a session , as is the case with most pages , , because of their potential .

i imagine their journey would be to learn to be a leader , , starting out insecure of their worth and abilities , , being a bit of a mess probably , , but their main mission would make them lead , , not when theyre ready necessarily but when they have to , , taking them out of their comfort zone and letting them bloom

i think with pages of breath specifically they would have a very strict life , , maybe they have shitty strict parents , , maybe they have bad friends who push them down , , either way : they have it bad at the start , , but with time and patience , , theyd become both more carefree and more confident , , being able to lead with ease and make quick decisions ! this would probably be due to both the " push " i talked about , , but also from an inspiration theyd draw from either another player or someone ( real or not ) that they look up to , , id say specifically an idealised self for this classpect in specific

powers :

i think pages are the silliest for the powers :D

i think power wise they wouldnt be the strongest out of pages , , instead being good at decisions and more so leading from a bit of a distance , , maybe clearing the path first and seeing whats ahead and then letting their teammates clear the area

so theyd be able to " do the windy thing " like john to some degree , , but more than becoming wind , , theyd " blow the wind " almost , , making go both alongside them as well as guiding them

this would be both at the beginning as well as later on , , id say theyd also be able to make tornadoes around them , , say theyd start out doing this pretty early on , , but without much control of it ! leading to them having the base powers rather soon but having no clue of how to use them to their advantage

overall thoughts :

neat guys all around ngl , , treat them with care though , , because if you do and dont just kill them youll have a great player at your disposal !! so let them grow and youll be BLOWN AWAY by their powers (;

his story is a pretty convoluted one so I won't bore you with the details, but the basis is: he's a figure skater in college who lives in the constant shadow of his parents, and has trouble dealing with the pressure of always being perfect. he's seen by his peers as a golden boy, the picturesque son of his family. hes a responsible guy, maybe a little to uptight sometimes, but he means well

isaac - another oc lol

isaac is actually yukio's love interest! astutia may or may not be their love child lmao oops? anyway isaac is a really optimistic, bright, and overall cheerful lad. he slots himself into yukio's life and lets him know he doesn't have to be perfect all the time, etc. etc. isaac's the kinda guy you can trust with your drink at a party!

a really good guy who has the best in mind when it comes to other people. a mediator and definitely a peacemaker. cant handle romance (when directed at himself)

thats all i can remember rn! the bottom line is, astutia's a good guy who tries his best. he hasnt cracked under the pressure (yet).

I saw your post about Kaz and Nikolai and I agree. I think they would be amazing friends. Do you have headcannons about that?

When first meeting, Kaz develops some sort of respect for Nikolai cause A_man developed an entire alter ego for literally no reason and B_He was completely honest with him. He also seems to work by his own rules and Kaz relates to that.

Nikolai also respects Kaz, he can see hes a very intelligent young man (i mean he read him like an open book). He was quite impressed cause up till that point no one read thru him like that.

He also has the time of his life seeing all of kaz's plan unfold, he didnt know any of it (though he suspected something wouldnt go as planned). Everything was chaos and all he could do was look in amazement and try to figure out what his thought process was

While going back to ravka he IMPLORES nina to tell him everything about the heist and the auction and hes just amazed at A-the absolute CHAOS, B-the adventure (there where you see him hes quite an adventure and mistery novels fan) and C the fact that he managed to get that damn money.

But hey kaz isnt the only one who can read people, Nikolai can see that theres many gears working within Kaz, and sort of feels sympathy for him, not too sure why not like theyre literal parallel characters or anything but the gloves are a dead giveaway

Nikolai also feels sort lf protective over him for no reason. He feels the same way about Nina.

Listen, Kaz somehow enters in Nikolais bedchambers at the embassy. he has like maximum security. However, he doesnt calculate well enough so while hes still there, Zoya and Nikolai enter (i mean, i dont think theyd have a fixed schedule while in kerch at the time, considering the circumstances). Zoya suggests hes imprisoned and even killed for stealthing into the kings chambers and "possibly attempting regicide" but Nikolai is just impressed he kind of needs to ask him how he managed to enter.

And thats the story of how kaz taught nikolai lantsov king of ravka grand duke of udova how to open any kind of lock.

Kaz finds himself trustung Nikolai. He knows he shouldnt and he knows most of it is Political Charm™ but still

Nikolai reads him like a book and most of it is cause he can see himself in Kaz. Hes not called the King of Scars for nothing ad he can tell Kaz has some too

Oh and he confronts him about it, real big brother shit or whatever

(similarly to how he told alina to stop bitching and either get over mal or do something about him which is still iconic)

weirdly enough kaz listens to him 😶 character desvelopment yall special thanks to inej ghafa and nikolai lantsov king of ravka you know the rest

Kaz asks him about inejs parents pretty much as if asking a favour from a friend, its cute and extrangely vulnerable. Nikolai tells him that "he has a ton of money, he certainly can try"

Kaz is all scary and black clothes and sharp bone structure but to nikolai hes just a boy in need of a good time and hes very fond of him

They totally get drinks in kerch, as payment for teaching nikolai his Thief Secrets™. Its a good time, Nikolai talks a lot and Kaz listens to his stories and plans and opinions. Its good info and quite fun.

THE BANTER, they bounce off each other so well.

Kaz admires Nikolais ability to charm anyone. Not like he cant be charismatic himself, but the kings ways to make himself respected and not necessarily scary seem very useful to him.

Kaz picks up the "improbable" line

they have the same scheming face. I like to think zoya and jesper are quite freaked out about it. So is nina.

When nikolai goes back to ravka, they write to each other. It starts with the whole thing about inej's parents but it quickly becomes routine. Not too often, but at least once every three months.

!! If you’re looking for oc asks! What are the tragector’s relationships like with the other mercs on their team (it doesn’t have to be both you can just do one HEBDHWBH) Do they have some theyd consider themselves closer to than the others ?? Close friendships?

Ok so I actually have a LOT written about them o-(-< … but the short version of this is that both trajectors are on pretty good terms with everyone, but they're the closest with the medics and spies for lore-related reasons! They’ve been around in the Gravel Wars the most out of everyone, so the team respects them for their experience. However, the trajectors are more involved in the war than most would think, and as a result try to keep a relative distance from the team, since they’re still working to keep a stalemate between the two factions (well, up until Gray Mann came along and messed everything up :P).

For BLU, V can be seen as a parental figure of sorts since she’s pretty straightforward and willing to give advice based on her experience; she has a reduced affect that makes it hard to read emotions, but she’s approachable once you get past it. However, for RED, Coda kinda just does their own thing and can be found in their workshop often; they don’t really like interacting much with others out of anxiety and can also be awkward at times, but they mean well :)

Anyways here’s a TLDR of their relations with their team:

RED Trajector (Coda):

I'm still thinking of this more in-depth, but if you're interested in reading about their relationships with Medic and Spy and more of the Trajectors' backstories (since they're closest because of lore-related reasons) there's more below :0

For context, V and Coda are technically celestials and two ocs I took from a personal project to throw into TF2 for fun! They're also immortal :P... The two of them travel around in different AUs as a way to regain some familiarity in life as a human and to find a way to cure their condition. Eventually they stumble onto the TF2 universe and realize that there's a LOT of weird stuff here that can help them understand more about the power behind their celestial status (I call it Null for now). Coincidentally, Australium is a type of Null that found its way in the TF2 universe thanks to a certain angel Coda knows about, and through a complicated series of events, V and Coda found and was hired by the Administrator in her early years to kick off the Gravel Wars at the very beginning. They’ve been around in Teufort for a While now and also used to work directly under the Administrator before Miss Pauling came along…

The reason why they’re the closest with the medics + spies is related to them being immortal lol

Medic:

I’m assuming that both RED and BLU Medics are pretty much the same in personality and traits, so this kinda applies to both :0

V has always found the medics interesting; all three generations had medical knowledge and skills beyond their times, so to her, they’re the closest they’ve ever gotten to understanding immortality and if there’s a way to “fix” it. The Medic in particular caught V’s attention; she’s aware that there’s something up with Medic’s soul and is also intrigued by just how eccentric he is compared to the other medics. Like, who goes around stealing their teammates souls and making contracts with the devil and also how the hell does uber work???

Anyways, V’s fascinated by the medics and often hangs out around them to learn more about their work. Which eventually led to some shenanigans and a strong friendship forming over time, though Medic’s still a bit disappointed that V doesn’t let him experiment on her :(

Also on a related note, crows tend to like V for whatever reason when she’s around… which makes for some interesting interactions with Medic’s doves.

For Coda, pretty much the same thing applies as above, though they also find Medic funny and just hangs out around him often because he’s an interesting guy who’s done a lot of shady work in the past (and continues to do so). The two of them share a funky sense of humor together :)

Spy:

With Spy and Trajector, their relationship started off as a rivalry of sorts; Spy’s determined to figure out what the hell is up with these Trajectors and why they get special treatment from the Administrator, while Trajectors are well aware of this.

Their first few interactions felt a bit forced, but over time, it turned more and more into a genuine(ish) friendship between the two.

Also there’s a whole separate thing I have for BLU Spy in particular, since he was some weird unkillable head for a while LOL

Coda initially found the BLU Spy as a head in Medic’s fridge… After chatting with him for a bit, Coda agrees to find a way to kill and return him to BLU normally.

Somehow (I’m not sure yet how but somehow) he gets back to normal.. And life on the battlefield resumes just how it has been before. They’re still enemies and also can be seen as rivals since they pick on each other more often then the other mercs, but there’s just something with how the BLU Spy can relate to being unable to die that links him to the Trajectors in a way different from most other people… which eventually spirals into more interactions and conversations between them :P

Anyways! Medic, Spy, and Trajector have the most potential regarding relationship stuff and I constantly switch between shipping them with each other (they're my ot3?? ot4?? technically ot6 if you include different colors???? i have no idea anymore hgjhfhgk). Overall I think they are neat :)

finally watched the chaos walking movie and ..... it was certainly something

I will admit tho that most of I thought was fine ! they stuck surprisingly close to the major events of tkonlg, which I didnt expect. honestly thought they wer gonna try squeezing all three books into one movie, so seeing that almost the whole movie was dedicated to adapting tkonlg, I was pleasantly surprised

also, tom holland as todd really grew on me. he gives a good performance n brings a nice sense of charm to todd. he also had some funny lines

the noise was also really good I think. was also skeptical about how they could adapt such a thing into a movie, n I think they pulled it off really really well. the things they could do w their noise was interesting n put a cool visual spin on it that fit perfectly w the medium of film

but ........ it still had its flaws. many of them, really

while I knew they wer going to change things from the book, I didnt think theyd change so many Reallt important things. they got rid of Todd's birthday n the significance of that, none of the animals had noise n it seemed even the film itself would forget about manchee, so that scene that was so iconic to the book fell completely flat n hollow, they had some random people die in the shuttle viola was on instead of her parents cause they apparently died a while ago from sickness, they seemed to do a 180 on what kind of direction they wanted to end on n instead left many many threads hanging for a slightly anticlimactic finish, etc etc.

I really thought it was turning out to be an ok movie. outside of the original book, of course. but then it all fell apart when they completely ditched the haven plan for .. the wreckage of the first settlement ship ? everything kinda went downhill from there, w the only highlight being the noise showdown between todd n the mayor, but it still wasnt enough to save it. haven is never mentioned again, Aaron shows up just to quickly get burned alive (Aaron's whole character was .. one of the worst things honestly), davy n the prentisstown men just .. disappear, it all becomes a mess

one thing that I couldnt wrap my head around was the whole point of contacting the ship. they act like contacting the ship so it can land is a good thing n the main goal, but it's also exactly what the mayor wants. if viola hadnt drop kicked him, he couldv pushed straight passed todd n viola and lead his little army straight to the ship to take it over, n then what ?

really, everything about this movie rings hollow in the face of the chaos walking trilogy n tkonlg. only really made me wanna read that book again, n I can only hope that those interested in the overall premise of this movie decide to give the books a chance, if only to see how much better they are compared to the film

and i’m sorry to disappoint but the ending is an open-and-shut case 😭. the hyunjin smau is a different plot, i just really wanted to give him a one-off spinoff because why not, give the people what they want. daddy jeongin is my fave character tho 💓.

i didn’t wanna make a hyunjin spinoff because this is already such a good ending, i didn’t wanna make the characters live longer than they already need to, i’d be dragging it by that point. i’m pretty satisfied by this, a bit sad to let them go but overall happy it’s over. 💓💓

I'm sorry, but I can't help but want a fic where Lloyd outgrows both Nya+Kai in height. Because on one hand I think that they be proud of both him and themselves because he actually grew up healthy (I have this hc that kai+nya grew up malnourished and short in their hometown) but on the other hand theyd be really nostalgic for when Lloyd was short enough to hug him and protect him by virtue of being the big siblings. (Also Kai would probably be offended) (pls don't feel pressured to write this)

ooOH see I am…Conflicted on this, because it’s my default to see Lloyd as the absolute shortest, but I’m also like…the biggest sucker for being nostalgic for baby Lloyd, because that’s good bittersweet angst right there ahhHH :’’)

I do really like the idea that Kai and Nya had it tough growing up, because they were so young when their parents disappeared, and I as a person do not think enough on how hard that must’ve been on them?? Kai was a baby in the s7 flashback?? And he had to just what, take over his dad’s job after that and raise Nya himself, and I don’t give him enough credit for that, I’m sure neighbors were looking out for them but it had to Rough :’(

Unfortunately though I also think Lloyd has not…grown up super healthy either, so far, because he spent his formative childhood years at Darkley’s or wandering the streets, neither of which were great, and then while he has had a solid home with the ninja, the poor kids never get a break?? Like Lloyd’ll finally get to a stable healthy state all-around then bam, Zane dies and the team leaves. Then he gets them back and all’s good and bam, his dad dies and Morro comes in. Then he finally recovers from that and bam, Wu’s gone and Harumi’s in town and he’s in a brief coma thanks to undead dad.

Season 11 would probably be the healthiest mentally/physically/overall they’ve all been able to get, until Wu crashed that and they ended up in the Never Realm with a boatload of new problems.

But!! That does not mean Kai and Nya wouldn’t work to give Lloyd the best they could, because they do, the whole team does, so I’m very on board with that :D alas i’m already writing a multi-chat fic entirely centered around Kai and Nya raising Lloyd (which I really need to focus on) so I can’t really afford to start any more wips T-T
