ok, the stages in which noir get drunk are: slightly drunk, giggly, undergoing a midlife crisis, lovesick, and sleepy

the slightly sober stage is the stage when noir should really stop drinking. i headcanon that it doesn't take him long to get drunk, like maybe... 3 to 4 shots, and he's entering the slightly drunk stage. he kinda dissociates when he's in this stage, like miguel in the drunk miggy headcanons, he kinda goes quiet and speaks only when spoken to, but it's a whole lotta gibberish that comes out of his mouth instead of coherent words. he'd look like he's staring into space, when actually he's just focusing on how fuzzy the world looks like right now as the liquor is settling in. past this point, you are now entering the harder than manageable peter parker drunk.

Does he take testosterone in your 666 series?? If he did, would he have to figure out a way to make it himself or do you think there’s another reliable way to access that kind of thing in hell? How would taking T interact with his half human/ half machine body?? Did he just figure out how to lower his voice, get a dick, and call it a day w/out having to even think of any of this? I guess he probably wouldn’t have thought of this originally considering his time period haha.

Personally, I'm fucking in love with biomechanical character concepts, so I'm fully and utterly on team "Vox's biology is extremely customizable and he went hog wild with it." I am SO glad you asked because this is a very fun subject to me! <3

In the headcanon of 666, he's a really uncanny amalgamation of man and machine. There are obviously limits to what can be done or what kind of invasiveness is required to do certain things, but they're less inherent to the human condition and more, just... kind of random! Thanks, hell!

He has lungs! They help him breathe and are also part of his ventilation system and vent partly out from his sides. His voice is a speaker that doesn't depend on his ability to breathe. Despite these things, both his breathing and his speaking are affected by his feelings and each other because his psychosomatics are coded into his hardware.

So when it comes to Vox being trans in 666 and whether he's on T: That depends on what you count as "taking" hormones! He does not give himself a weekly shot of exogenous hormones. He does, however, have parts of his endocrine and autonomic nervous systems accessible as literal code, which has long been modified to behave appropriately to his preferences as far as hormonal regulation is concerned, kind of like changing your own DNA! This isn't something he can just adjust on the fly, and even adjusting it at all is like fucking with a computer's base code. He might end up with hyperthyroid disregulation or just plain brick himself if he fucks up. I also imagine that doing something like that also didn't occur to him for quite a while, long after he'd modified the more accessible physical stuff.

Ironically, what would be surgical in real life is easier for Vox in comparison. He's had to swap out his entire head at least once in the past to upgrade: replacing his vocal speaker and swapping his primary sexual characteristics is easier than what amounts to brain surgery.

Student life is hard. I would not have thought that at the age of 25 I would not have started a permanent apprenticeship. It's 3 p.m. and I still got my tram. It's totally full and I only got a side seat next to a guy. He must be around 30 years old. Next to his jogging pants and his sweater, both of which are black, I notice his large stomach which causes his right leg to press against mine. He looks stressed and I keep hearing him moan. It's not loud, but noticeable. We drive a few minutes and after he takes a deep breath I whisper to him: „Hey man, are you alright?“ he recognize me and says: „Yes, I'm actually fine. Just some strong baby kicks and a full bladder, damn.“ His leg presses against mine again. I take off my headphones and look at him. "Must be far, right? How long do you have to drive?” He turns his head to me and I look into his ocean blue eyes. "About 30 minutes left, I just have the feeling I can't last that long. It's all so stressful." He seems really stressed. Should I let him go with me for a moment? I live right around the corner. „Hey boy, maybe you can use my toilet? My place is next stop. Then it's just a few minutes to my apartment. Wouldn't really be a thing.“ I smile a bit. "Oof I don't know. Only if you really don't mind. I'm a little embarrassed, haha" When he laughs, his whole stomach shakes with him. I lean towards him and whisper: "I don't mind." Then I get up and ask "Shall I help you to stand up?" He declines with thanks and slowly stand up after me and I see big baby bump again. It’s enormous.

My pace adapts to the man and I ask politely: "Hey, what's your name?" The sunlight gives his curly brown hair a red tinge. "I'm Phillip. What about you?" I have to smile again. "Hey Phillip, I'm Max, like Maximilian, but Max is fine, nice to meet you. Don't worry, there are only a few steps left." He groans once more. "You have no idea how grateful I am that you let me use your toilet. You really are an angel!” We cross the street and enter my place. He takes longer to climb the stairs to the second floor but I wait for him. „This is my front door. I actually live in a shared apartment, but my roommate is on vacation. I'll tell you after you're done where you can and can't go haha. Um...your-...your water won't break, right? The parquet floor was really expensive, haha” He has to laugh a little. "I don't think. It's embarrassing enough that I'm here, Max" he smiles and enters the bathroom. I take a seat at my table and drift into thoughts and for some reason my thoughts find themselves in Phillip's eyes. Those ocean eyes. He's already a cutie. Under other circumstances maybe even crush potential. But I don't know if I would be ready to have a child at my current age. But his face is very attractive- "-Max?" My thoughts fall apart and I'm back to reality. "I'm here, oh man, sorry I was on my mind. How are you?” Phillip comes to me: “Much better, thanks again. It's so warm to be honest.” I look at his sweater. "No wonder, also black." I get up and get drinks from the fridge. "Do you have a problem with me taking off my sweater for a moment?"I shake my head briefly and reach for the soda, then turn back to Phillip who is just pulling his sweater over his head. I see a large tattoo below his navel, a pierced nipple and Calvin Klein underpants, as well as his bulge which is accentuated a little by taking off his clothes. "Nice Tattoo, oh there are more…"

"Yeah haha, I'm glad my stomach didn't stretched them that much. You know, it wasn't all planned." I let Phillip sit down next to me and he grabs the soda as I said. "I know the question is weird, but how old are you?"I try to keep eye contact because I'm just fascinated by the color of his eyes. "Actually 32, what about you?" He takes a sip and looks at me expectantly. "Um...I'm 25, studying. What do you do for a living?” I delve into that face again. "Well, currently on parental leave, but otherwise I'm a graphic designer. I've only been feeling uncomfortable at work lately due to my back pain when sitting at the computer all day. I'm glad to have some free time now. Oh, did you still want to learn today or something? I don't want to disturb, you know-" I immediately interrupt: "What?, no, haha, you're not disturbing me and you can stay longer if you want. A little company and such. In addition, I always find it great to meet new people who are hot, uh, likeable, yes yes" he laughs and then leans slightly towards me while looking straight in the my eyes and says, "So hot? So that's what it looks like. Cute.”

It was really unbelievable how well we both could have conversations and small talk quickly turned into hours of conversation. In addition, sparks jumped between us, which was even more incredible. What an afternoon.

It's already getting dark and it's just like jumping back into reality and I realize that I can't and don't want to let Phillip go outside alone anymore. I get up and grab the toast. "Hey, do you want some toast? Then I'll do several.” I can hear a slight mumbling behind me and turn to Phillip who, with his eyes closed, is pressing his right hand to his stomach. "Everything okay?" His chin presses against his chest but he slowly answers "Yeah, just braxton hicks again like this afternoon on the train. Yes, I'll take two of the toasts too." I let Phillip breathe and take care of the food. "Well I only find it responsible if you sleep here tonight. I don't want to send you home now. You are so alone and fragile. Would that be okay?” Phillip seems to regain his composure and looks me straight in the eyes. "Okay, if that's okay with you? I'll take the couch back there-" I interrupt Phillip directly, "No no no you get my bed I can sleep on the couch. No arguments.” Phillip laughs a little and even gives me a reassuring smile as I put our toasts on the table.

I got both sleeping places ready and did the rest of the household chores and then somehow ended up with Phillip, both of us in our underpants, brushing our teeth in the bathroom. It was a difficult situation. From time to time his stomach touched mine and of course I biological reacted and I had to constantly watch not to get hard. Despite everything, there was also a lot to laugh about.

I wash my mouth and put my toothbrush back in my mug as Phillip's gaze captures me again. It's an intense moment and we get unusually close. He's a little taller than me but leans in and kisses me. I can not move. I just feel his soft lips on mine and my arms automatically go to his neck. It's weird, but I want it. I'll let it. Eventually our lips part and I escort Phillip to my room. "If anything, I'll be right next door, yes? Make yourself comfortable and with that I think I'll say good-" Phillip grabs me and throws me onto the bed. I'm startled and lie on the bed with my legs apart. I then assume that I will not sleep on the couch and at the latest when Phillip starts to mount me and we both get hard, I knew exactly where this is going...

Dar Reads Lady Knight: Ch. 3

Finally back at it! This chapter covers a lot of ground considering it's fairly short, so I will probably have more to say than I did for the first two. As usual, commentary/favorite quotes are below the cut.

Love the Alanna and Neal moment on page 49... the whole "good question, next question" conversation. It would be super cool if we got a little short story of Neal's time as Alanna's squire. I can only imagine what that was like given their personalities.

"He said last night you're a bear for vegetables - Sir Nealan, that is" (pg. 50). Tobe's only been with Kel for a short time and Neal is already teaching him well, haha.

Cleon makes his entrance. I have to be honest, I'm happy with the decision Kel makes re: Cleon. She doesn't feel the same way she once did, and she knows it wouldn't be fair to either of them to try to continue the romance, Cleon's impending marriage aside. I was never a huge fan of Kel/Cleon, but I was glad Kel got to enjoy a healthy relationship while it lasted, considering how some of Alanna's relationships went.

"She didn't want Cleon as a lover now, of that she was sure. There was work to be done. She wanted no lovers until she had settled the Nothing Man's account" (pg 51). Not gonna lie, I really, really like these lines. There is work to be done, and devotion to duty has been the foundation of Kel's philosophy since day one.

I should note that I don't dislike Cleon as a character. He's doing the honorable thing by marrying someone in order to provide for the people he's responsible for as lord of Kennan.

I love the scene when Tobe asks Kel why she's crying, and her explanation: "It's not the war, Tobe. I've been shot at. I can bear it. I'm crying because my friend is unhappy and everything is changing." First of all, relatable. Second, I love the respect that already exists between Tobe and Kel - his first reaction isn't to make fun of her, but to sympathize.

Kel asking Duke Baird how he can still go and do his duty even after seeing the brutality of war firsthand makes me feel things. And his response that all he can do is his best. Ugh. Feels.

Baird asking Kel to keep an eye on Neal if they are assigned to the same post alsdkfj. Kel and Neal friendship 2kforever.

Owen's back! Gotta love Owen. The way he tries to be as formal as Wyldon trained him to be while still being irrepressibly Owen is so funny. What a gremlin.

Poor Kel, being worried that Wyldon doesn't trust her ability as a knight after all. If I were in her position, I'd probably feel the same about the possibility of getting a "safe" assignment. Especially since she knows that people will say she's not cut out to be a knight if she's not out on the front lines.

Kel and Wyldon's dynamic. Amazing. Wyldon has come so far since First Test, and Kel is willing to see that. I think anyone else would hold a grudge against Wyldon for the way he treated Kel if they were in her shoes, but she's willing to see past that.

Kel's going to do her duty if it kills her. This girl. I wish I could properly express what she means to me.

Mistress Fanche makes her entrance when Wyldon is showing Kel the refugees. Considering what she's been through, I don't think it would be fair to dislike her for her attitude.

"[Wyldon]'s happy, she realized, stunned. Training us - that was his duty. But he didn't like it. He's comfortable here, in the dirt and the cold, with people to defend" (pg. 70). I wonder if Kel realizes how similar she and Wyldon are when it comes to duty. She'll do whatever he orders, even if she privately disagrees or dislikes it, but at the end of the day she's happiest when there's hard work to be done.

The Kel and Owen moment at the end of the chapter. Kel's right - Owen is growing up well. They are 100% ride or die, and I am here for it. When Owen says he would do anything to help her, he means it. Kel hasn't had a lot of experience with that so far, what with several of her peers trying to sabotage her during her days as a page, so I imagine Owen's genuine loyalty must mean the world to her.

TL Notes:

The word used is 絶妙 so a more literal translation could be something like “Stop making it exquisitely realistic!” but I didn’t think “exquisite” in English really fit the tone of what he was saying since “exquisite” is usually used in a beauty/fancy context so I went with "strangely elaborate".

The phrasing here is literally something along the lines of “knockout your partner” but it sounded more violent than I think intended when worded like that so I changed it to fainted lol .

Side note: This is so unimportant but even though I translated them both as “cool”, Banri describes TRG as やばい (yabai) and ZOOL as 格好いい (kakkoi)

if we're 'fixing' the 'problem', I wonder if that means we'll be going into the original timeline, where Amane would likely still be alive-- he'd just be an old man, and Nene-chan's teacher at Kamome. Wouldn't that be so funny and interesting? Lol. What would we all do if Amane was "Yugi-sensei" and like, old! It would be very AidaIro core AHAHAH ahhh the agegap fetish--! It's not enough to have Sumire x Hakubo and Yako x Misaki and Kako x Mirai and the entire Monstery Nursery AUs LOL you know, we need more ahahahaah (HanaNene is already technically biiig agegap! I would laugh if actually making Amane like 60 woke some people up flfjdklfdjk)

I'm just not sure... Amane could just be dead, I guess, and Tsukasa. Or he could be alive, and old. I have a vague theory that he must be a kaii because of, whatever he or Tsukasa had done together during the shinjuu... (maybe Amane was impulsed to eat some part of Tsukasa, maybe the God blessed Amane at the last second, etc etc)... it's hard to imagine Amane would be a school mystery-- Tsukasa is his yorishiro after all... and we don't quite know what circumstances make Sumire and Tsukasa into objects, if being sacrificed to the God had something essential to do with that...

Well, so interesting, I wonder if Nene-chan will have to go even further than she did in Picture Perfect-- in that arc, she had to choose to reject a seemingly perfect, but ultimately fabricated, world; even if it was 'nicer' than the 'real world'. Now, she might be shown a world fixed of its cracks-- it could even possibly be a world Amane never had to murder his brother, like she wanted before. Nene-chan is so often getting "what she asked for" in the wrong way, at the wrong time. She fell in love with "Hanako". Is the boy she fell in love with "here"? Is he in a form she can confess to?

Furthermore, she just bonded with Tsukasa, and has knowledge of the Red House... must be essential, to write that happening before this-- just before, even. Tsukasa even inspired her to need to free herself, even if Amane isn't there to save her.

Poor Nene-chan though-- so scary!!! What an awful situation to be in HAHAHA, flung around...

I have no idea what Mitsuba's situation will be, but Tsukasa is responsible for our "Mitsuba" to even be around. He wouldn't have even managed to become the ghost about the entryway without Tsukasa kaii-ifying him through his first, vague wish.

Well, it would be funny if these things were all true now:

-Amane is alive, but he's old lol -Aoi is not Akane's gf, and maybe that other timeline was the only goddamn way you could ever get her within reach lol -No Mitsuba To Speak Of lol

MUCH POSSIBLE, MUCH TO THINK ABOUT-- MAYBE I'M WRONG ABOUT IT ALL!!! Iro-sensei writes such interesting plot twists WOO ahahaha! I WONDER IF WE WILL INTERACT WITH 12 YEAR OLD TSUKASA AGAAAIN~~ pleaaase ~~

feeling more certain than ever that Tsukasa is The single most tragic member of this cast hahaha
