Loki: It’s hard being polyamorous. My girlfriend left to another timeline and my boyfriend doesn’t even live in a timeline :(
Sylvie: We broke up the moment I kicked you through the time door…
Mobius: You have a boyfriend??

I guess the only real consolation is that ultimately, Loki got the one thing he wanted: for Sylvie to be okay.

I will never be over how tender this touch is, as he reaches his hands out to hold her shoulders, even as she holds her knife to his throat, how sad and how scared she looks, the way he holds her gaze, begging her to trust him

yk what really pisses me off
i saw a really cute sylki edit that was like Loki saved the multiverse for his girl (Sylvie) and the top comment is *for mobius… and there were so many others commenting similar stuff and then people commenting on them explaining how their wrong (Loki sacrificing himself was to save Sylvie because the other option was he kill her)
why should shippers have to defend their ship in the comments section OF AN EDIT ABOUT THEIR SHIP. the poster literally commented on the *for mobius comment no… and that’s all it should take to tell antis and toxic lokius shippers to stop commenting on edits that aren’t about their ship and to (in no uncertain terms) to fuck off

feel like an academic the way i was about to make a rebuttal paper to a thesis claiming that sylvie had no feelings for loki in s1 but then i remembered i have to do things like attend classes and pay bills so that's gonna be shelved for a while

am also having a Mild Crisis over whether i should speed up the enemies-to-lovers aspect of this fic because fandom (in general) is used to "they bicker vaguely for three chapters and are clearly In Love by part 4 and then the next 46 chapters are a series of miscommunications" and that's not what my plan is so umm. i think i might just piss the readers off if it doesn't get nicer soon? but then the one weird person other than me who wants to read this version of events will be DEPRIVED if i do that won't they? so. oh no, is this how people feel when writing millon-word rival florist AUs? do they feel THE PRESSURE? do they fret and fuss and panic?

seeing ppl's reasonings for why sylki is bad or why the loki series itself is bad is so cringe half the time bc its ppl being mad at the show for the stupidest reasons like, you KNOW the story that's happening here. getting mad bc loki didn't shag mobius after they landed on each other and instead was worried about sylvie is so horrifically embarrassing that I can't even cope with it

One thing I don't get about Sigyn fans: they like to reimagine Marvel Sigyn as having any sort of appearance (her faceclaims had all hair colors and ethnicies imaginable), any sort of backstory (sometimes she's a noble, a commoner, a warrior, a witch, a mortal elevated to goddess, etc) and even though she tends to lean to kind and soft, some Sigyns have some edge to her personality. Which makes you wonder: if Sigyn is such a flexible character that she can be anything, then what difference does it make if a female character who's paired with Loki in canon is name Sigyn or, idk, Mary or Joan, or whatever? Why are they so fixated that any female character that Loki smooches has to be named SIGYN if Sigyn is just a name you slap into a character that can have any personality and backstory? A proof of what I'm saying is that Sigyn fans have a penchant for theorizing that any new female character that gets close to Loki is secretly Sigyn until proven otherwise, I've seen them do it with Verity, Leah, and Zelma when these characters first debuted, and like... did it make any difference when it turned out not to be? Would Loki's relationships with these women be more meaningful if each was named Sigyn instead? If the writers of the Loki show had decided to name Sylvie as Sigyn instead while keeping her personality intact would Sigyn stans be complaining about her?
Yep ^ The name or who Loki ends up with really shouldn't matter. But they keep being like "SYLVIE'S ACTUALLY LOKI, GROSS!" while also being like "THAT'S NOT LOKI BUT LARRY THE CLOWN" towards Loki. Like do they know what they sound like?
I am not sure if renaming Sylvie to Sigyn would have helped quell the hate. They might have gotten pissed off that she didn't fit tradwife ideals and is "too mean". For some maybe.

Loki both holding Sylvie’s hand and a dagger to her throat. The intimacy and the violence, hand in hand. Her saying “you’ll have to kill me” to him, again, again, the thousandth time again. Flicking her gaze down at his dagger, back up to him. Looking into his eyes, waiting, fierce and defiant. Love. Love is a dagger. Dropping both her hand and the dagger, dropping the dagger away from her throat. Letting her go. Him letting her go, even as he holds her closer. “You’ll have to kill me,” she says, and “I can’t, I can’t,” is the silent reply. Love is a dagger. You can see yourself in it. It’s beautiful. Until it makes you bleed. And even then. Even then

Seeing all this discourse surrounding the morality or lack thereof in regards to ST ships is utterly coconuts to me as I've made the objectively correct choice not to drag morality into shipping LIKE A COWARD. Maybe consider getting some real-life morals, babes, perhaps then you won't feel the need to larp online as a catholic priest.

controversial opinion but I’d be fine if lokius didn’t become explicitly canon in the finale so long as sylki doesn’t either. like at this point lokius is so deeply and explicitly canon in MY head that as long as the writers don’t write anything that contradicts my own imagination I won’t be upset. and lokius is already so canon in implicit subtextual ways??? they’re so soft with each other, loki admits that mobius made him see himself in a way he never thought he could, HE FIXED HIS HAIR TO LOOK GOOD UPON SEEING HIM AGAIN, they protect each other and defend each other, honestly I rock w that so much.
and honestly the beloved parts of the MCU are mostly in our (the fans’) heads anyway. it’s still beloved in the way that the marauders are still beloved, like small snippets of canon used as a springboard for emotional and beautiful expansions and interpretations by the fans which are so well done that they become accredited as semi canon or more accepted in fan circles than original material. not that marvel isn’t putting out good stuff, but so much of it is still fandom imagination and creativity.
anyways that was such a long and winded way of me saying FUCK YEAH LOKIUS CLAN WE ATE GOOD TONIGHT and they’ll never be apart in my head 😌

Thoughts on Lokius (from a Former Sylkie Shipper)
When season one was airing, I was a casual Sylkie shipper. Mostly, I just wanted to see Loki in love. I thought it would be such interesting character development, a side of him we had never seen before. I also remember telling my friends “oh my god, it makes so much sense for Loki to be in love with a variant of himself, because he thinks he’s the greatest thing alive.” I remember sitting in front of the TV and cheering at their kiss. (yea yea “selfcest” i don’t care blah blah blah. It’s a fantasy show with a crocodile Loki and a horny holographic clock. DON’T CARE)
Anyways, after a couple of years, I’m starting to see things differently.
Loki acts like he thinks he’s the greatest thing alive. Obviously it’s a defense mechanism. We’ve all known this since the first Thor movie. It’s one of the reasons we love him so much- he has such depth.
Anyways, he has so many deep-rooted self image issues, and while I’m fine with Sylkie, I just don’t think Sylvie is the greatest thing for him. (Why am I acting like Loki’s therapist rn? What am I on about?) He can see his negative traits in Sylvie, and she can see hers in him.
And I may be late to the party- but I’m starting to see the Lokius thing.
Mobius has put so much faith in Loki from the very beginning. He’s known the entire time who Loki is at his core, despite his wrongdoings. He doesn’t love Loki because he, himself, IS Loki. He loves Loki… just because he loves Loki.
They also have this undeniable chemistry. It lights up every scene they’re in together.
Maybe it’s “platonic,” or “brotherly,” or whatever, and like most Lokius shippers, I don’t think Disney/Marvel would ever make it canon. But I would love to see it.
