oh i have a positive work story from yesterday! someone called me trying to refill her trans son's testosterone prescription. they were in the process of changing his name and i helped them resolve it so insurance lined up but they wouldnt need a new prescription until next time. and when i told her the syringes are out of stock she was like "oh ill pay for them i dont want my son to miss a dose". and kept talking about how shes glad the name change went thru and stuff. it made me happy to be reminded there are supportive parents who work hard for their kids :)

Yesterday was my birthday and, honestly? It was one of the best birthdays I've had in recent memory.

I went to work doing the job I love; I taught some students how to use the tech we have, had a tech/dry run rehearsal, and got to test out a vintage smoke machine:

And then I came home, made tea for my boyfriend and I, then we went out to buy things for his bedroom.

My other partner and friends from across the globe, near and far, wished me a happy birthday, all scattered throughout the day.

I forgot a cake and had to rush out at 10pm to get one and my boyfriend and I huddled in the kitchen and he sang happy birthday to me, and I've never felt so sure in the wish I asked for.

Nothing was special about the day, there was no fuss, no presents, no expectations. There was just love, hope, and cake. Maybe that's what birthdays are about, maybe that's all I want in my future.

My doctor and I were having the typical “sexual partner” discussion and I was of course stumbling and trying to move past giving poorly constructed answers. She took a beat and asked me if I identified as asexual. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so validated in my life. Nobody has ever mentioned asexuality to me first before. Never.

I was of course baffled, but so incredibly relieved. Wasn’t even an option on the medical records, just something she knew about and cared to ask me. It felt really good to be recognized.

Eeeee! So nice seeing questions like this honestly. Type to word dump cause no one ever asks me about this stuff so I’m just sat on this info lmao

I’ve always been super into creative writing. Like at primary school and high school I was in the gifted and talented programme for writing/English. I started writing fanfic just for myself when I was like 11 ish and then I started posting it to the world at like 12 on wattpad. And I’m 23 this year so. A while ago lmao.

I enjoy it simply because I’m a creative person to a degree yet I’m not very good at expressing that. I’m a notorious hobby starter. I get slightly mediocre at something then I get bored and move on. But writing is so fluid and so vast that it’s hard to get bored, because there’s literally a million different things to write about. But fanfic in particular is my go to because yes I’m creative, but not enough to develop entire worlds ans people myself. So take the worlds and characters we already know and I just expand them and make them into something that’s my own.

So it’s nice being being able to use this creativity that I have and expand of of other peoples ideas because I just don’t have the mental capacity to do it myself
