chapter one : A GIRL

pairing : hueningkai x 6th member!reader summary : tomorrow x together, or txt, wasn't always six members, and for some unforeseen reason, it wouldn't stay six either. set in : pre debut, around early 2018. word count : 1.1k

when the idea of tomorrow x together was first drafted, it suited five members.

no set role besides leader and maknae, an abstract idea few groups follow. set to debut in early 2020, following "love machine"'s 2019 debut, tomorrow x together would be big hit's first boy group since bts. hopefully, big hit's next success.

love machine, a girl group composed of four members, all of different ethnicities, had been in the work for nearly three years, not created out of a survival show, or auditions, but picking specific big hit trainees who fit the bill. the four girls - all of whom were regularly spotted around the company building, were regarded as three things: loving, warm, and talented. they were set to compete with a new girl group jyp entertainment was rumored to be creating.

yet, last minute, the five trainees prepared for txt (what seemingly everyone called it), were alerted of a change. a new member, one who would bring more 'diversity' to txt, and be a 'larger drawing point' to make people 'more interested' in the group.

the boys had speculated who it could be, perhaps a non-korean? an idol from another group? what they weren't planning on was, of course, what they got.

a girl.

they hadn't been told much; 'love machine' was disbanded before even debuting, something about a controversy amongst members. however, big hit wanted to keep one. and so, she was added to the group closest to debuting - txt.

"i bet the members had some sort of scandal, and she's the only good one left." taehyun, ever the gossiper, whispered to beomgyu and kai.

"i thought there were four members though? a three member scandal sounds weird." beomgyu added, cocking his head to the side slightly.

"it doesn't matter, she's going to debut with us anyways." kai huffed, leaning against one of the couches in the practice room.

"yeah but why do you think they'd pull their first group since bts?" taehyun chimed in again.

does he ever stop talking?

"i bet she's a really good dancer, or singer- or something. she has to be to keep up with us." kai laughed, blissfully unaware of the opening of the practice room door, and the shuffling in of three new people.

soobin, yeonjun, and her.

"i know you three have heard the news, so yeonjun and i thought it'd be time for you to meet our newest member, (y/n)." soobin coughed, eyes wide at the trio hiding away on the couches, all gossiping.

"hello! it's a pleasure to meet you all." the girl bowed, smiling. she was clearly dressed for practice, sweatpants, an athletic tee, and old adidas. the three boys all turned around, focusing their attention on the girl.

"the ginger-esque one is beomgyu, the brunette is taehyun, and the tall dark haired one is huening kai." yeonjun commented, pointing to each of the boys as he spoke. "huening was our youngest until you showed up." he added, smiling softly at the girl.

"how long have you been a trainee?" beomgyu asked, his eyebrows furrowed. in his head, she had to be a trainee for at least three years to be in love machine, but she had to be younger than huening making her around fifteen. did she become a trainee at twelve?

"three years, i just turned sixteen." she nodded, taking note of each of the boys.

"our little kai isn't so young anymore!" taehyun teased, playfully pinching kai's cheeks. "all grown up now, aren't you?"

"tae-" kai groaned, trying to swipe at the older male's hands. "hands off-"

"are they always like this?" (y/n) asked, turning to soobin and yeonjun, who simply nodded.

after the boys had gotten their bearings, they all took turns explaining the idea of their group, and their debut, to the girl.

"we aren't furries, it just involves a lot of cat and dog references- 'cause, well, the title is cat and dog." beomgyu explained, talking with his hands.

the girl simply nodded, as if taking mental notes.

"the title track- crown, right? it's, well, dark?" she muttered, eyebrows furrowed as she thought back to the lyrics.

"dark?" taehyun questioned, tilting his head to the side slightly.

"well it's not exactly light- 'i wanna run away and disappear far away' or 'who am i? i don’t know who i am'? that's dark stuff right there."

"what was the concept in your last group- what even happened to your last group?"

all the boys leaned in, seemingly more interested than before in the girl.

she paused slightly, taking a moment to think back to the group.

"i don't know- but we had sort of a dark heartbreak vibe- if that makes sense? it was all love songs, but they had what our leader, june, called 'unsettling' undertones. your music is flat-out dark." she explained, laughing slightly at the comparisons.

"what was your title track?" kai asked, as if trying to prove 'crown' was better.

"it was called 'psychology of love', uh, i wrote it alongside my other members- we wrote all our stuff." she nodded, smiling awkwardly at the boy.

"doesn't sound cool.." kai mumbled under his breath, shaking his head.

for some reason, a reason not even he could place, kai felt bitter toward the girl. maybe it was because she was pushed so hard to debut, so she had to be good - hell not just good, amazing. or maybe it was because now he had no title in txt. he wasn't the sweet little maknae anymore, he was just huening kai. despite technically being a foreigner, and being mixed, he wasn't some abstract idea anymore. he had been shown up by a girl in a boy group. or maybe it was because, for some reason, she had to be good at everything; she was a great dancer (or so he was told by beomgyu who took some time to do research after meeting her), an amazing vocalist (or so taehyun explained as he showed videos soobin had sent him, kai wasn't really paying attention), and she was trying to become one of the fastest rappers in the industry (or so she claimed).

everything about her was extraordinary, and kai was just ordinary.

but for some reason, that didn't stop him from being intrigued by the girl. she held herself with confidence, yet her eyes darted across the room in an almost panicked way every few moments, as if some crippling fear would come true at any moment. she claimed to love her old members and group, yet took time before speaking of them, as if needing to collect herself and push the pain far enough down that it wouldn't spring out as she spoke. and she smiled at each boy, yet even a blind man could tell it was forced (not that any of them would bring it up though).

though what kai hadn't heard (maybe due to being in his head too much), was her response of "well, it's not your song."

but even so, on that very day, kai decided that he would set his mind on her and figure her out.

K-pop Discography Deep Dives: TXT

A Disclaimer: I was planning, when I first started Tumblr, to be a lurker, but then I began an office job and needed something to listen to to keep myself occupied. And then, I started going through entire K-pop groups’ repertoires, album by album, and jotting down my thoughts. And then, I stumbled into K-pop tumblr and decided, you know what, there’s at least four people on this hell site who would read in depth rants about these discographies and at least five who wouldn’t read it and then get mad because it’s kind of our job as K-pop fans. My lukewarm takes should be taken with an entire silo of salt and the knowledge that this is completely for fun and occupying my very bored, very neurodivergent brain. All this to say, for the love of god, I’m a sleep-deprived student and I don’t have time for internet hate, so don’t kill me. With that being said, enjoy!

Here are my credentials: yeah…none. I think the amount of TXT songs I know can be counted on one hand, and besides one, they’re all singles. But like with BTS, I’ve been a K-pop fan for four years and I figured that it was about time I make an effort to give them a try. It’s funny; I feel like with every girl group I cover I’m like “well obviously it was July 2017 because Joy had red hair” and with every boy group I’m like “um…are there seven or eight of them again?”

But I digress. TXT was formed in 2019, by Big Hit Entertainment, with five members (and yes, it’s five, I googled it, I promise), Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Heuning Kai, Soobin, and Taehyun, and they’ve been pretty popular since then, which is an achievement in and of itself, coming from an agency best known for the biggest boy group of all time.

They debuted with double title tracks, the first of which was Crown. With the somewhat moodier image they have now, I didn’t expect to think their debut so adorable, but that’s definitely the word I’d use. Despite them being a 4th generation group, the way this is shot, the bright colors, and the comic book drawings remind me very much of late 2nd, early 3rd gen, which hey, I’m not complaining. The song, fittingly, is upbeat and bubbly, very much pop with some synthy influence. Overall, I liked it, as a 2nd and 3rd fan, but something about it doesn’t leave that much of an impact on me. Maybe it’s that I’m not the biggest fan of very young-sounding music, and this is a little too reminiscent of Chewing Gum by NCT Dream for my liking.

Cat + Dog is also from this first EP, and basically all of the comments I had for Crown repeat here, though I did like Crown more. I know that this is more me than the song, but something about this one just…creeped me out?, in a way that Crown didn’t. I know that they were young when this came out (between 16 and 19), but they’re acting like they’re 10 and it’s a bit unnerving. From the EP The Dream Chapter: Star, I liked the calmer but still poppy beat of Our Summer, though I wish it was a little slower to stand out from the other songs in the album more.

Run Away is a song I’d already heard from TXT, but I like it more in the context of their work thus far. It’s still pop, still full of that youthful energy and hope, but leans into an ethereal and nostalgic feeling, and overall feels a lot more suited to them as older teenagers. It has some good humor, and both its Harry Potter references and its message of running away from the monotony and cruelty of the real world with your friends turns it into something universal.

From The Dream Chapter: Magic, I enjoyed the odd percussion and the melodic chanting in New Rules, the gentle vocals in Magic Island, and the sweet love story between childhood friends in 20 CM. My favorite was probably Can’t We Just Leave The Monster Alive, for the interesting trope deconstruction and its encouragement of taking your own path in life.

Can’t You See Me starts with some interesting almost-stop-motion in its ruffling pages, and I couldn’t decide where I thought it was going to go. At first, it combines both the young love idea of Crown and the themes of magic and isolation from the world from Run, which work pretty well, but it soon devolves into something resembling a cry for help with its unusual structure and odd vocal fry segways. It leans very into ethereal, while speaking about the dark side of a friendship gone bad. It took me a couple listens to make up my mind, but I do like this one.

From The Dream Chapter: Eternity, I had two standouts in Fairy of Shampoo and Maze In The Mirror. Fairy of Shampoo (despite the odd name) feels a bit like floating with its citypop synth and jazzy background, and I wish it’d been promoted as a special single instead of Puma. Maze In The Mirror is another song here that was written by the members themselves about their time as trainees, the difficulties they faced, and their friendship. As I’ve said before, some of my favorite songs in k-pop are this kind of acoustic, genuine b-sides that convey such honest emotions, so of course I loved this one.

Blue Hour’s very calm vocalizing and acoustics caught me off guard before the synths I was expecting came in, and I found myself nodding my head. Like with Run, I appreciated the brightness and humor here much more than I did in the first couple of songs because I thought it was better balanced here without overdoing it on the aegyo. It’s not a world-changing song, but I did have a good time with it and it made me laugh a few times (especially with that cowboy hat because what on earth were they thinking).

Minisode 1: Blue Hour reminds me a lot of BTS’ ON album, down to having a song about COVID (in this case the aptly titled We Lost The Summer), which I can’t bring myself to actually critique because of how sweet it is, though in the year of the whoever 2023 I wince to remember 2020. Besides it, I loved the airy vocals and video game esque synthy production on Ghosting and the anthemic chorus in Wishlist.

0X1=Lovesong was another song I had already heard of TXT’s, because I happen to be a fan of Seori, who’s featured on this track, and I have to say that my biggest gripe with the track is that she’s just not featured enough, but that’s really the only criticism I have of this one. I confess that I love this song, and it was actually the reason I wanted to do this review. Remember how I called Wishlist anthemic? Well, clearly I don’t know the meaning of the word, or didn’t until I heard this song. It takes TXT’s youthful energy and pairs it with a full on alt-rock ballad. It feels like a follow-up to Run with its immaculate roadtrip energy, and though the verses are a bit slow, that chorus is just a knockout and just makes me want to be a kid again, grab my best friend’s hand, and run for the goddamn hills. Probably won’t be lighting a car on fire, though, sorry.

Far be it from me to dissuade from some extra drama, but LO$ER=LOVER…well, it’s giving full on “when I was…a young boy…my father took me into the city…”. No but really, I want to think that this level of ridiculousness is some kind of intentional My Chemical Romance parody, because it’s honestly hilarious. It has some of that anthemic quality that I so loved in Lovesong, but that great build-up in the front half of the chorus is just undercut by a lack of payoff and the abject silliness that is “I’m a loser, I’m a loser, lover with a dollar sign is a loser.” I think that I would like this more if I was sure that the joke is intentional, but I’m honestly not sure that it is. Either way, they’re clearly having a lot of fun with this, so it’s tough to dislike.

From The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape, I have a lot to talk about, since it’s such a long album. Firstly, I already knew the chorus of Anti-Romantic due to its popularity, but I liked it more in context with the rest of the song. No Rules (which I assume is a follow-up to New Rules) has a great beat and in my humble opinion, there’s never enough disco. MOA Diary, a song for their fans, is very sweet and I can totally see it being a crowd favorite at a concert; I loved the harmonizing. Dear Sputnik was probably my favorite though; it’s another song written by one of the members and has an excellent alt-rock drive that totally should’ve made it be the single instead of LO$ER=LOVER.

Good Boy Gone Bad had me wincing before it even began, because the title already hints towards more non-self aware drama. And it turns out my instincts were right, because while LO$ER=LOVER is so ridiculous it’s basically camp, Good Boy Gone Bad just had me rolling my eyes and wondering not why the good boy had in fact gone bad but why I had to hear about it. Also why Yeonjun was driving a motorcycle in a faux fur coat, but that’s a story for another time.

From the EP Thursday’s Child, which is the second “minisode”, I liked the intro Opening Sequence more than I expected, mostly due to the charisma in their vocals, which really do the heavy lifting in such a minimalistic song. I also enjoyed Trust Fund Baby (give it a chance, I know the title doesn’t inspire confidence), again due to the strength of their vocals and the emotion they carry, when singing a song about a relationship that’s ended due to poverty. This is overall a very melancholy EP, a sharp contrast to Blue Hour’s optimism. Even the more synthy Thursday’s Child Has Far To Go isn’t totally upbeat, but as an album closer, it does hold a little hope that things won’t always be bleak and ended up being my favorite.

Sugar Rush Ride is, thankfully, a return to the synthy, ethereal, upbeat sound that has become TXT’s signature for its verses and pre-choruses, but for some reason opts for a very simple whistling hook and an incredibly jarring anti-drop chorus instead of resolving its great build-up. The bridge, likewise, feels harsh in what’s otherwise a calm song, and honestly, I find this song more disappointing than I would if it used a style I hate throughout, because I really enjoy the greater part of it…but I just can’t get past that chorus.

From The Name Chapter: Temptation, there’s three b-sides I want to talk about. Devil By The Window is a fully English song, which normally I would complain about, as I often do. But this one’s actually really good; it’s tense, attention-grabbing, and has a very taut arrangement. Also, this is probably me reading too much into it, but the chorus is giving me such queer energy (“I met the devil by the window, traded my life, temptation touched my tongue, spread the wings of desire. He’s whispering ‘give up, don’t you put up a fight.’”). But…c’mon guys, maybe I’ve missed something, but last time I checked straight people don’t get seduced by random devils of the same gender standing near their window, but hey, how should I know?

Besides that, I also liked the acoustic guitar in the pop-rock Farewell, Neverland and the chill vocals here as they sing goodbye both to a childhood lover and to childhood as a whole. Tinnitus (Wanna Be A Rock) pleasantly surprised me with its Afro-pop influences, because it’s not a common pairing in k-pop and I was surprised by how well it works here. Do It Like That is an English-language collaboration with the Jonas Brothers, and between its very mainstream pop sound, the English, and its beat, I admit that it gave me war flashbacks to Dynamite. Here is where I invoke my disclaimer of: Dynamite is not a bad song (see my way-too-long BTS review for a whole two paragraphs of thoughts on that), but k-pop doesn’t need to try and replicate it. I know that this is totally down to my own bias, because Do It Like That isn’t a bad song either, but I won’t be returning to whatever concerningly white void they filmed this in anytime soon.

Back For More is another English-language collaboration, this time with Brazilian singer Anitta. I was preparing myself for another paragraph of disclaimers and having to do some overly dramatic sighing, but actually, I liked this! It feels like any other TXT single with its disco influences and catchy beat, just in another language, as it should be. I also appreciate that they collaborated with a Latin pop star, who sings in both English and her own language too, which made it feel less like a cop-out. The first time I heard this one, it was the shortened version that they performed at the VMAs, but the longer version with the bridge really elevates the song and I’m glad I watched it. It’s not my favorite but I’m not going to throw a tantrum if it comes on.

Chasing That Feeling is from their latest comeback just a month or so ago. I was feeling optimistic from the first verse’s beat, although after being burned by Sugar Rush Ride, I was still a bit wary. But, thankfully, Chasing That Feeling does what it predecessors didn’t do: it delivers, with those head-bopping synths, citypop influences, and electronic background. I admit that I wish it had a bit more of a climax and went against the grain, but it’s hard to not be won ever when a song’s chorus starts by saying “I’ve turned my back on heaven” and telling fate “come on and kiss me”.

The Name Chapter: Freefall is another full length album, so I have a lot of highlights. I loved the exploration of a harsher version of rock mixed with metal in the teen angst driven Growing Pain, which their voices were surprisingly suited to. I also enjoyed the vulnerability and slowing rising vocals in Deep Down’s pre-chorus, the acceptance that “life is not a fairytale” but is still worth living in Happily Ever After, and the moody Skipping Stones, which tells the listener not to be too hard on themselves, because what they’re going through will pass. I think that Skipping Stones was also written by the members themselves.

So, I enjoyed this more than I expected! I confess that I did expect something similar to BTS, which is probably unfair given the fact that besides having the same company, they have nothing to do with each other. Calm down, I’m not laminating my stan card just yet. I’m not a MoA, but I think that I could probably consider myself at least a casual fan after this. We’ll see how it goes. Maybe the next comeback will absolutely blow me away.

My Top 5 songs are Lovesong, Run Away, Thursday’s Child Has Far To Go, Dear Sputnik, and Maze In The Mirror, with Skipping Stones as an honorable mention. TXT gets an 8.75 out of 10 from me, which, again, is a surprise for both of us. I do love synth, rock pop, and disco, and I’m excited by the fact that they’ve already written a bunch of songs. Here’s hoping that they keep getting better and they end up getting as much creative freedom as some entirely self-produced groups.

This is so random but I was thinking that most people who are more willing to refer to Tae as a 🐻 would have joined the fandom no earlier than 2019, like 2020 and forward. I’m an example of this because I came in mid 2020 and the debates over 🐯 or 🐻 were already underway so as baby Army, I didn’t feel too strong of a connection to either and was perfectly fine going on to use 🐻. But now if there was another member like Yoongi for example where people were debating on changing his 🐱 status, oh I would be screaming “Team kitty cat!!” everyday on the timeline because I’ve built an attachment to their emojis now haha. I would be like “it’s Team 🐰 Bunkoo, argue with the wall!!” So I get why Team 🐯 fights so hard for rights lol, I understand them. I could totally be wrong in my assumptions and it’s all just happenstance/personal preferences, but it’s crazy to think how much the fandom has grown from 2020 for Team 🐻 to have an edge in Army preference. Which emoji do you prefer to use for Tae?

Oooo this is INTERESTING. I wasn't part of the fandom when Hobis emoji changed but I wonder if there was any pushback at all with the change from the unicorn to squirrel for a similar reason?? ARMY is a house divided over Tae's emoji and its so funny to me. Someone said once that Tae is both. A bear normally and a Tiger on stage. And I absolutely can get on bored with that. The truth is...

The truth is, I have a tender heart.

I see people hate on Jimin (or Tae or any BTS member), using slurs, making up lies, canonizing misinformation, deliberately sabotaging projects, attacking other fans... and it hurts me more deeply than is probably normal. My heart grows so weary watching it unfold.

But more than my own feelings--because my spiral is my spiral, it's not anyone else's responsibility to fix my feelings--there is a steadily increasing toxicity taking over ARMY. And I'm at a real loss as to how to stop it.

The cult is ramping up. Antis and akgaes are getting more extreme. Sasaengs are getting too close and too bold--and their content is becoming normalized, even, and shared out in the open. This is going to change things.

The thing I loved most about BTS (besides their music and art) was how genuine and authentic and vulnerable they were with us. They would come to us, and initial personas aside, I felt they rapidly started to show us who they really are--what worried them, delighted them, their ambitions, their heartaches.

There is no incentive now for them to share anything personal. Everything they do is criticized and overanalyzed until it sucks the joy out of everything.

Jimin, who I think we can all agree is a lightning rod for the most hate, pretty much tapped out before 2022 even began.

Jungkook decided to go work-only by mid-2022.

Here we are in early 2023 and between a hot mess over photos and now attacks over Insta follows, I wonder how much longer Taehyung will keep his content personal.

Even Hobi is starting to only post things related to projects, brands, or awards.

Yoongi... lol... aside from that one cat photo that got through, Yoongi is and always has been a man of mystery. He apparently does like a good linoleum kitchen, though. Bless.

I'm SHOCKED that Namjoon posts as much as he does AND shared an entire episode detailing the layout of his entire house. For the most part, Joon stans seem really sane, and the crazies don't seem to target him much (any more). But even so...

I don't think our boys are gonna come back from military and be this open with us again. I don't think we will ever get back to the 2018-2019 level of insight and constant content we were once blessed with.

I HATE that ruiners ruin things. I am really searching for a way to NOT let assholes affect my mood but... it sometimes just feels like the whole world is being polluted by a few toxic people. I mean, take your pick: climate change, vaccines, politics, sports, the entertainment industry... there's no escape from a few assholes who just set out to ruin things.

I'm 43. I know the world has always sucked, but it never used to suck so much SO FAST. Things really truly used to be different. Most people had critical thinking skills. Most people unplugged from TV, news, and entertainment for whole hours if not days at a time. Most people believed in science. Most people had... if not a genuine kindness, at least a sense of shame... before they could hide behind a keyboard. Now I feel like I have to gird my loins any time I come onto the internet.

Is this my "the world is going to hell in a handbasket" lamentation post? No, not really.

I'm just so tired you guys. I'm tired and I need a good long hug.

You see, Jimin worked so hard on VIBE. He wrote part of it. This was his idol. He promoted his work for the first time on his social media. And he wasn't properly credited, it wasn't under Jimin's spotify or melon, it wasn't available in many countries, vipers boycotted it, little-7s won't promote or purchase it, there was a 27% filter rate in the first 24 hours because people wouldn't stream properly...

So now he is the first and only BTS member whose collab might not chart in Hot 100. And you KNOW ruiners will never let that die; they will drag him for it forever. It sometimes feels like he gets sabotaged the most.

And there's nothing to DO about it, except keep streaming and buying and voting and showing up for him. Which I always will. But I also gotta process my feelings around the way this all played out. I'm worried for PJM1.

Why do so many people hate someone so loving, hardworking, talented, and kind-hearted? I am truly baffled.

I thought about not posting this. Because really, who wants to listen to some rando on the internet feel her feels? But if you got this far, I'd gently encourage you to let yourself express whatever you're feeling too. After all:

So go ahead and grieve, rage, whatever you gotta do. And when you've let those feelings wash over and out of you, remember... there's a person in Seoul...

And finally, I will leave you with this. We cannot change the ruiners. We cannot stop them and their desire to ruin. It is important to take breaks, to recharge, to support one another. And then, we get back up, dust ourselves off, and work harder.

For Jimin. For BTS. For ARMY. Because in the end, we really are all they have.

Dafina Bora Hoxha (born 17 March 2000)[1] is an albanian actress. She gained international fame portraying Kierra Boothman in The Daughter from across the sea from 2015 until 2018.

Dafina Hoxha speaks fluently four languages including: albanian; English; Japanese and Italian. She also know some Korean and Spanish. Is also said she started self teaching herself Turkish.

Early Life

Dafina Bora Hoxha was born on 17 March 2000 in Tirana, Albania,[2] to Aida Hoxha and Ardit Hoxha. Her dad is from Tirana and her mother from Duress.

Hoxha was raised in Tirana in her early years, and later moved to Glasgow. She began boarding at Hyndland Primary School at age six, moving to Caldercuilt Primary School at age eight.

Dafina started acting at age six after her first school staged a show for the end of the year.

Career

Early work (2006-2014)

While still getting background roles, Hoxha began appearing on the big screen thanks to Mike Navelle[3] rom-com movie Cupid’s Little Helpers (2006) for Scotland BBC.

She appeared in one episode of Doctor Who[3] “Whispers in the Sanctuary”[4] (2007); she was a guest star in a couple of episode of Game of Thrones[5] (2011-2014).

In 2013 Hoxha appeared in Only Lovers Left Alive[5] in a guest role. But it was in 2014 and early 2015 that she started getting some popularity thanks to KidUlt[6] (2014) and Hello, Hi-tech[7] (2015)

Breakthrough and worldwide recognition (2015-2018)

Hoxha is well-known for his portrayal of Kierra in the 2015 TvShow The daughter from across the sea. She was invited to audition by Lei Hoire the show’s director, after he had heard nice words about her. Hoxha said about Hoire “He changed my personal life and my career. At first the Korean team didn’t want me because of my basic knowledge of the language but he managed to change their minds.” [8] Dafina Hoxha was given eight weeks to improve her korean, so she started as soon as she left the audition venue to study the language. It took her only six weeks to get on a good enough level for the production team but never told them until she brought it up during an interview. Empire magazine ranked Hoxha’s portrayal of Kirra as the 20th Greatest Show Character of All Time.[9]

While in Japan she started putting together a couple of ideas which ended being the plot for A love so fragile[10] and She is called Mythology,[11] two of her most famous screenplays.

In Japan Hoxha had her debut as a magazine model, posing for Cosmopolitan[12], BAZAAR[13], GQ Japan[14], Dazed[15] and Vogue japan.[16]

She got overnight recognition in Japan being the first western celebrity with an Asian fanbase bigger than her western one.

Her fanbase in 2016 was composed by the 10% of Japanese and Korean celebrities, BTS[17] and Bigbang[18] are part of that percentage that knows and supports her.

Varied roles and further success (2019-present)

After coming back from Japan, Hoxha started working more behind the scenes as a screenwriter.

Her first project A love so fragile aired the 14th February 2019 and was praised by the critic, making Hoxha the youngest successful screenwriter in Hollywood.

Between 2019 and the end of March 2020 she kept a low profile as an actress and kept on working on writing from the big and small screen, creating a tv show called She is Mythology based on greek, Roman, Norse Egyptian mythology and more. The pilot, Freya’s Day, Cats’ day[19], was very successful. The critic said “Serafina Hoxha is a young mind, taking risks and bringing integrity on screen” as she pushed the casting directors to cast albanian actors for the show. She is called Mythology casted 20 albanian actors both in leading and supportive role.

2021 and 2022 were the years she went back into acting working on two movies, that expanded her western fanbase, Ephemeral Echoes[20]and Whispers in the Shadow[21]

In 2021, while in Australia, Dafina Hoxha, met Chris Hemsworth. The two bonded over their appreciation for sharks. Hoxha was able to follow Hemsworth around during the shootings of Shark Beach with Chris Hemsworth.[22]

The 3rd January 2022 another one of her screenplays, Killer Nights, was aired and got nominated for 2023 BAFTA’s Original Screenplay[23] which she won.

Upcoming projects

Late 2023 Hoxha announced she was going to host the 2024 Oscars Awards.

In October 2019 it was announced that she is will be starring in Disney+ limited series Unrequited friends.[24]

In May 2022, it was announced that she is set to star in Netflix remake of Only Lovers Left Alive.[25]

Personal life

Hoxha resides in Los Angeles as of 2021

She is a huge Canucks[26] fan and was spotted a couple of times at some games of the team, mostly in America until 2023. Between 2023 and 2024 she started attending their home games as well.

She dated Hailee Steinfeld between 2018-2020

She was rumored to have dated Dove Cameron.

Halfway through the hockey season of 2023 some rumors started going around about a relationship with hockey player Quinn Hughes. Hoxha and Hughes got photographed a lot while together.

Charity work

She has supported several charities, including Shatterproof, Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), The California Wolf Center, The Shark Research Institute, American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center, National Indian Child Care Association, Indigenous Roots, Polished Man Campaign.[27][28][29[30][31][32][33][36][37]
