he says i hate everyone except you and that is addictive and that is kind of romantic and beautiful because you're young and you're kind of a sarcastic asshole too and you don't like bad boys, per say, but you don't really like good ones either. and you like that you were the exception, it felt like winning.
except life is not a romance book, and he was kind of being honest. he doesn't learn to be nice to your friends. he only tolerates your family. you have to beg him to come with you to birthday parties, he complains the whole time. you want to go on a date but - people are often there, wherever you're going. he's just so angry. about everything, is the thing. in the romance book, doesn't he eventually soften? can't you teach him, through your own sense of whimsy and comfort?
at first - you know introverts often need smaller friend groups, and honestly, you're fine staying at home too. you like the small, tidy life you occupy. you're not going to punish him for his personality type.
except: he really does hate everyone but you. which means he doesn't get along with his therapist. which means he has no one to talk to except for you. which means you take care of him constantly, since he otherwise has no one. which means you sometimes have to apologize for him. which means he keeps you home from seeing your friends because he hates them. you're the single exception.
about a decade from this experience, you'll type into google: how to know if a relationship is codependent.
he wraps an arm around you. i hate everyone except you. these days, you're learning what he's actually confessing is i have very little practice being kind.

seen a couple people running to that "is it bad writing or do you not understand genre" post in regards to the ofmd upset. and let me remind people that this show was marketed as a romantic comedy, ESPECIALLY this season!
In that regard, I found an article/blog post that directly addresses the question "can you have character death in a romantic comedy?" And it really hits the nail on the head.
Even if you were to make the argument "well it's a dark comedy!" or "its a pirate show!" there's still a balance that needs to be met if you don't want to alienate your audience.
People are going to argue that the death was earned because they spent the entire season building up his character and "completing his arc". Well, I'll argue that they DIDN'T complete his arc. In fact they took about twelve steps back in his death scene by seemingly ret conning his progress and having him center Ed's feelings on his literal deathbed. So it really feels a lot like fridging, because that's exactly what it was. Izzy's death was for Ed's arc, not his own. And they spent so much time focusing on Izzy all season, focusing on his growth and giving him such a specific arc about queerness and recovery, that yeah, his death feels like a slap to the face and not a tragic story beat that makes the story all the richer.

Fallout should really get more into the micro mutations that the radiation has caused. Like both with already mutated creatures and non-obvious ones.
Psykers, Night-kin, tunnelers and multiple other variants of mutated things exist so why can’t humans with other slight mutations? We know that radiation and FEV have affected how things have evolved, so it’d be really easy to say that these tribes or factions can do this cause they are slightly mutated to better fit their environment.
Perhaps Mojave people that live in very high areas have just noticeably long limbs due to all the climbing. Perhaps those who live in dark areas have larger pupils and borderline night vision. Perhaps rando NPCs that just mention having webbed hands cause their families live around water.
Like I’m not saying a bunch of new mutants or factions but just like humans who are more obviously slightly mutated.

on youtube there is a florida man who explores the everglades, the amazon, the puerto rico rainforest and more in nothing but shorts and a t-shirt and he's insane, he just goes around literally yoinking the wildlife to show them to the camera and putting them back down, except if their invasive which he takes with him, he's yoinked snakes, centipedes, birds, sea animals (including a stingray) and even held hands with several crocodiles and alligators, he sometimes comes out with a handful of tokay geckos, baby burmese pythons as they're invasive and he's apparently searching for a 20ft burmese python and anaconda.
all I'm saying is this is how Arthur Morgan would be spending his time if he were born today. just exploring daunting forests with a bold and fearless approach, getting up close and personal with animals that can kill him and removing invasive species from the land to preserve the natural balance of the ecosystems.

I’ve got some friends and my betrothed doing a little book club. It started with one friend and we’d leave a comment in discord with the percent we were at and then our thought under a spoiler. When we read that far we’d go back to read the spoiler and respond. Then their hubby wanted an excuse to read more, and my betrothed heard about it and wanted in.
At which point I slid forward The Scholomance series, which I’d been pressuring my betrothed into starting and so everyone took it up. It’s been like crack. I have always loved this series and my betrothed was like, “This sounds like a horrifying depressing setting why do you like it?”
But now they’re all voraciously consuming it and I’m living my absolute best life. I try not to comment much as I don’t want to color their perception but these books are so fucking good and now I get to share thoughts with several other people who are having a wonderful time.

what was the mask thing with Rayman referring to aand why did he need it I thinking of the one for the pandemic
Oh that haha- I was referring to the 'mask' that is common for cartoon characters to have when a portion of their face is marked off in a certain way in with a different color from the rest of the head- think of Mickey Mouse or similar characters with that going on.
I hadn't actually noticed it before with Rayman until the Phantom Show DLC design, in which it is very prominent and makes him super expressive. It's technically in his design in 2-3 onwards but you don't notice it as much (or at least I didn't lol). It just feels like they went out of their way to emphasize that more here, I think the addition of the eyebrows helps too.
